2. Analysis Of Ram Charan s New York Times Bestseller,...
Strategic implementation is the process that turns strategies and plans into actions in order to
accomplish strategic objectives and goals. It should be considered the blueprint for realizing the
organization s vision. The success of any strategy is solely dependent upon the effectiveness of its
implementation and execution. Ram Charan s New York Times bestseller, Execution: The Discipline
of Getting Things Done, refers to implementation and execution of strategy as a systematic way of
exposing reality and acting on it. The framework for successful implementation includes building an
organization capable of executing strategy, proper resource allocation, support policies, continuous
improvement, performance based incentives, and strategic leadership. KaBloom founder, David
Hartstein, provided a sound strategy to realize his vision, however flaws in various elements of
implementation led to continued problems for KaBloom. Executing the Vision As we learned in
Section 3: Strategy Formulation, KaBloom sought to employ a differentiation strategy in effort to
create a competitive edge. They created brand recognition and a niche within the market through
visual differentiation, low cost, and product variety. Eye catching stores, strategically located in high
traffic areas, drew customers into the serene garden like atmosphere with flowers cascading onto the
storefront sidewalk. Their brand recognition was created through this concept of store design, which

3. The Effects Of Jews On Jewish Population During The Nazi...
An important topic is being researched, and it concerns the Final Solution of the Nazis concerning the
Jews. On January 20th 1942, 15 leading officials of the Nazi state met at a villa in Wannsee, a suburb
of Berlin, to discuss the Final solution of the Jewish Question ( The Final Solution, 2015). They used
the term Final Solution to refer to their plan to annihilate the Jewish people. It is not known when the
leaders of Nazi Germany definitively decided to implement their plan to eradicate the Jews ( United
States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 2015). Although, the genocide, or mass destruction, of the Jews
was the culmination of a decade of increasingly severe discriminatory measures ( United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum, 2015). The Final Solution resulted in the holocaust, one of the most
horrific crimes against humanity. As a result, I am going to discuss the Final Solution, and its effects
on Jewish population during the Nazi regime.
Firstly, when Adolf Hitler came into power in Germany on May 8th 1945, one of his main goals was
to purify the German race. He believed that all races were inferior to the German race. As a result, the
Jewish people of Europe suffered severe persecution which eventually led to them being murdered.
Hitler spread propaganda all throughout Germany, which cause the German people to hate the Jews.
He made them believe that the Jewish people were the cause of all the problems in Germany. As a
result, Hitler instilled fear in the German

4. Technology Development Life Cycle ( Tdlc )
Introduction When explaining the technology development life cycle (TDLC), it is necessary to
include the technology transfer process (TTP) and the funding sources that are out there. Without
discussing all three of these areas it would be difficult to understand how an idea for an invention
makes it to being a household item. The role of the TDLC is to show how a technology develops
during each of the five stages. The TTP shows how the technology transitions between these stages
when ownerships of the project changes. Lastly, where the funding comes from and why investors
stop investing. Technology Development Life Cycle The TDLC consists of five steps: basic research,
proof of concept, early stage technology development (ESTD), product development, and production
(Branscomb, 2002). These five steps help illustrate what is required for a technology to go from its
basic research stage to being put on the market. In its early stages, the technology is used to develop
an idea and prove that it can be done. Take Graphene for example, the basic research of this
technology would have included identifying its properties to determine if it is a flexible material
(Chaochen, Tao, Jiangang, Qinghua, Sen, Haibin, Haimei, 2015). Then the proof of concept would be
showing that graphene is a flexible substance that can potentially be incorporated into devices to
increase their durability (Chaochen, et. al., 2015). The third step, ESTD, is where a business case
would be made that

5. The Landlady Theme
The Landlady is a short story written by Roald Dahl, it started when the main character, Billy Weaver,
travel to Bath from London for his new job acceptant. The story was written in the third person point
of view and it describes about the dangerous things that wait for the inexperienced Billy Weaver, when
he wants to stay at a strange boarding house. Through the description, we can see that the boy is too
naïve and subjective about the outside world where he never actually experience it. As a reader, we
can easily recognized that the place is pretty creepy and quite dangerous, when there are no sign of
other guests, Billy also noticed about that but he is not fully alert because of the sweet words from the
landlady.

Billy is exhibited as an honest young fellow who has just passed out of school, who appears to be
uninformed of the evils of life out in this present world. He doesn t for one moment assume that there
is anything vile about the lady. He is totally taken in by her cordial ways and is enchanted by her
cheap and comfortable rooms. He does distinguish some peculiarity in her conduct, yet he merrily puts
it down to her being somewhat dotty , and nothing else. Despite the fact that he considers the
vanishing of the two visitors that stayed there before him a vanishing that made the news he regards it
as a captivating puzzle instead of as a clue of danger. Youthful honesty, then, is another main theme of
the book; The way how youthful, blameless trusting natures are exploited by more elderly, more
naughty and evil minds. (Bingoffsky)
Roald Dahl utilizes metaphors as a part of the story, it isn t all the time I have the delight of taking a
guest into my small nest . He develops apprehension and tension in the reader s psyche by utilizing
this metaphor. For instance, when the lady depicts her home as little nest it makes the reader think

Certainly it tells us the story of high tech industry and it s products. It tells us the story of the hoards of
engineers and marketing men that built and sold to the these new machines to the world from
enormously powerful computer vendor companies of the ilk of IBM and DEC, those huge
conglomerates that once dominated the world of computing around twenty or thirty years ago.
The quotes above and those similar however, begin to lead the reader towards another far less obvious,
perhaps even subliminal, moral that underlies this tale, and this is a very human tale that encompasses
those individual stories that more often than not remain hidden in the noise. Kidder paints for us a
vivid picture of U.S. corporate dynamics in the world of high tech, but once this background scene is
set, he then begins to assemble against it the individual characters who will play out this human
drama.
I m a little suspicious of the great, overarching view. It always leaves something out, says Kidder.
What interests me is trying to catch the reflection of the human being on the page. I m interested in
how ordinary people live their lives.

Nowadays organisations recognise the importance of satisfying their customers needs and meeting
their expectations as the more complex the customer demand, the more there is need for service.
Although services are infused in every organisation s core, service failure still appears therefore,
service recovery strategies are essential in order for the organisations to overcome the situation. This
research intends to study the relation between customer service and organisation.
1.1 Service Nature
Service is an activity which normally takes place by interacting between the service employees and
the customer although a clear definition on services has always been immense to describe. An easy
way to understand services is by imagining service personnel as the actors in a play and the customers
as the audients (Lovelock, Vandermerwe, Lewis, 1999). There are two ways in which services can be
defined, such as service being an act of performance and as economic activities providing consumers
with benefits under specific circumstances. The importance of the service sector is obvious as 67% of
employees are directly employed in service jobs while more than half of those already employed in
manufacturing companies perform service function jobs. (Irons, 1997) Services have four key
characteristics such as intangibility, inseparability, variability/heterogeneity and perishability. This key
characteristics of services are used to describe the effect and
11. What Is The Moral Of The Bhagavad Gita
Disobedience often reflects a person s ethical ground and displays a person s beliefs that something is
morally incorrect. Through disobedience, cultures gain the ability to evaluate situations in their
entirety and construct decisions built off of careful consideration of the effects of their actions. Arjun,
in The Bhagavad Gita, exhibits disobedience through his initial decision not to engage in combat on
the battlefield; but, Arjun also discards his duties as a warrior through his protest. The Bhagavad Gita,
through Arjun s rejection of war, reflects the concept of dharma (duty), jnana (knowledge), and yoga
(discipline), which are integral components of Hinduism. Throughout The Bhagavad Gita, Arjun is
constantly reminded of these very concepts through his conversations with Lord Krishna, concepts he
would otherwise have failed to realize if he did not consider discarding his warrior duties and did not
reject the ideas of fighting against his own kin. The Bhagavad Gita, through the momentous protest of
Arjun, showcases the concepts of religious duty and obligations while also showcasing the
philosophies of a higher spiritual power and acting for the benefit of society as a large.
In the context of the Mahabharata, the lengthy religious text that encompasses the story of The
Bhagavad Gita, Arjun s disobedience, his rejection of the concept of fighting against his kin and for
the benefits of victory, demonstrates the pivotal concept that questioning the world is beneficial.

Dickens Great Expectations
The novel Great Expectations uses the central character, Pip, to depict the ups and downs of a young
child on a quest to become not only a man, but a gentleman. Dickens uses a variety of different
techniques to create mood, setting, and atmosphere.
Charles Dickens grew up in the nineteenth century, when times were hard and punishments were
extremely harsh. So harsh you could be imprisoned or even hanged for stealing a loaf of bread.
Dickens s father was in debt and as a result he was imprisoned and Charles went to a workhouse. The
miniscule amount of money he earned supported his family. As a result of this punishment, Dickens

In chapter one dickens uses imagery such as the gibbet to show punishment: No matter how small, pip
still committed a crime and could still be punished severely, even hanged. Another image, used to
portray punishment is the hulks. They were huge prison ships out on the marshes and were there to
represent the punishment pip could face. Dickens uses chains to show that pip and magwitch are
connected, by the crime they committed together.
But on the other hand, in chapter twenty the images used to represent punishment are: Jagger s office
(because he represents the law), Newgate prison and the court rooms.
In chapter one, Dickens uses the river to illustrate the journey pip is about to embark upon. He uses
the fog to represent pips uncertainty in life however the fog is also used to create mood atmosphere.
In chapter twenty Dickens describes Jaggers chair like a coffin
Rows of brass nails in it, like a coffin
And as chapter one is set in a graveyard there are quite a few similarities.
Dickens writes a whole page of description on Mr Jagger s room. It is all negative, which such

That core is what today s customers are really after, as they make decisions regarding who to hire or

In recent years, consumer oriented marketing has dramatically changed. Years ago, companies used a
mix of print, radio and television to establish their brand.
Today, this model is proving difficult for most companies, due to the high cost, the dilution of media,
and the overabundance of commercial messages.
These days, many successful brands are created without an advertising budget, or with a relatively
modest one. They create a solid and believable identity, differentiate themselves from their
competitors and build a loyal customer base by putting an authentic face on their companies through
standing behind their promises on every level from the point of sale to customer service after the sale.
Customers respond positively to the notion that a real, answerable person is responsible for quality,
which is the reason that many successful companies put their CEO s front and center and avoid the
celebrity spokesperson trap.

Kafka s In the Penal Colony chronicles a colony s justice system, from the point of view of an

carried out. In the Penal Colony compares to Duff and Garland s Introduction: Thinking about
Punishment, the versus surrounding the trial of Jesus, and the story of the deluge in the normative
issues of crime, punishment , and justice that it brings to light. In Kafka s In the Penal Colony, the
officer is presented as a character who has a deep devotion to the apparatus, and its ability to exact
justice. The officer is fixated on punishment, never questioning whether or not punishment must
follow a crime. The officer s character encompasses the thinking that crime and punishment
undoubtedly go together. Duff and Garland s introduction to Thinking about Punishment raise this
issue, that our common patterns of thought lead us to link crime with punishment in an apparently
obvious and natural way;...there is reason to doubt that the two concepts need always be combined in
this manner. Duff and Garland challenge the normative thinking of crime and punishment. In contrast,

food. Disease also played a key factor in the toll number of deaths in the holocaust. Women and
children were brought to new places throughout eastern Europe and exposed to many diseases that
could kill a whole population. Also the unsanitary conditions of the camps lead to many diseases such
as: Typhoid, Dysentery, Pellagra, Marasmus, and lice. Cynthia Ozick shares in the story about the lice
exposure in the camp Rosa was in and how Magda was exposed to it.(put quote about lice) .Of course
in the camps they didn t get supplies to treat the diseases therefore it would end up painfully killing
them. By far the worst horrifying group killing s were the gas chambers. Nazi guard s would pick out

down and lock them in a room. At first they would think they were getting a shower, but unfortunately
it was toxic gases that would suffocate them to death. Public executions brought fear into many Jews
eyes of the thought of being shot or hung. Surviving mothers that lost their children in the Holocaust
will always keep that traumatizing moment in their head. In Rosa s case she had to encounter the
traumatizing death of her daughter Magda. Rosa walked away for a short minute to retrieve Magda s
blanket and when she came back Magda was gone. When she found her she was being held by two
guards that threw her against an electrical fence. Rosa could not even go mourn over her baby s dead

taken by the federal government in order to form a better society has led to an explosion of criminal
offences in the past as well as today. The effects of prohibition consistently offer a hand in the shaping
of American culture. Full fledged black markets and organized crime groups both offset the supposed
benefits of prohibition. Today, teenagers often turn to the underage consumption of alcohol to make
them seem cool, or as a form of rebellion against parental and governmental authorities. The
temperance movement acted as a predecessor to the prohibition of alcohol in the 1920 s. The
temperance movement relied heavily on the efforts put forth by the Women s Christian Temperance
Union (WCTU) and the Anti Saloon League. The WCTU lead thousands of women united against
alcohol to make great pushes against alcoholism; they introduced an anti alcohol education into
schools, and led protests for laws regulating and banning alcohol. The Anti Saloon League used the
saloon must go as the war cry of their moral crusade against the production, sale, and consumption of
alcoholic beverages. Both groups blamed alcohol for issues in society, issues in the home, and the
wretched living conditions found in the immigrant slums. Together these two groups pushed America

26. Use Of Prawns In District 9
Throughout the film District 9 , the key idea of dehumanising is expressed through committing acts
that would otherwise horrify humans. Neill Blomkamp, the director of District 9 explores the ways
humans often dehumanising others through the use of prawns acting as creatures from a foreign land.
Blomkamp creates the film where prawns and humans are divided along racial lines, leaving prawns
to be looked upon as unhuman like aliens. Prawns undergo horrific experimentation and abuse by the
NMU soldiers but when Wikus Van De Merwe finds himself in a particularly extraordinary and
outlandish situation, humans turn against Wikus and begin to hunt him down. Wikus begins to learn
the conditions which the prawns are involuntary compel to deal with

I wanted to add Fondant Fancies to the house shop ping list, but Marion said they were revolting and
that we should eat something more healthy, something more brown not fluorescent pink. Mick didn t
like sweet things and Simon had never heard of them and suggested the sickening Battenberg instead.
But I could carry on eating Mar ion s indigestible macaroni cheese with undercooked greens, Mick s
egg and chips and Simon s shepherd s pie soup, if I knew that I could go home to my mum and dad s,
binge on chicken and eat a Fondant Fancy whole whenever I got desperate (41).

She has an older brother named Carl Trevor Jackson. They came to England for a better lifestyle for
their kids and themselves. Faith is living away from her family and lives in a house with 3 roommates,
one female and two males. Fondant Fancies are like mini sweet cakes that are colored pink. Her
roommate Marion thinks they are unhealthy and that they should eat healthier things. Her roommate
Mick doesn t like sweets which is understandable because not everybody likes sweets. Their other
roommate Simon he has never heard of it and suggest instead that they should put Battenberg which
are light sponge cake with pieces covered in jam. Faith doesn t like Battenberg be cause her Fondant
Fancies are much better. Faith is okay eating her roommates food though it s difficult to eat the
macaroni cheese with cooked sufficiently peas. Egg and chips are fries with fried eggs. The shepherd s
pie soup is made with leftover mashed potatoes, seasoned with salt and freshly ground pepper. Faith

29. Examples Of Miscommunication In Grendel s Life
There are constantly new elements of Grendel s life in John Gardner s Grendel that make it more
difficult for Grendel to believe there is a meaning to life . Miscommunication is important in Grendel
because it keeps a constant conflict between the Danes and Grendel. Hatred is important because it
causes Grendel to repeatedly attack the mead hall, which increases the Danes hatred for Grendel. John
Gardner shows how miscommunication drives hatred. Grendel, the man eating monster, decides he
wants to show himself to the people of Hrothgar s kingdom to prevent his loneliness. Instead of
gaining friendship, Grendel is attacked and almost killed by Hrothgar s warriors. Grendel intimidates
the Danish warriors when he holds a dead body in front of

30. Evaluation Of The Network Services
1. Goal
Going forward with lab 2, the focus was placed on core services seen on enterprise networks, what
they do to keep the network running efficiently, and how to centrally monitor them. Some of these
services (DNS and DHCP) were review from what was learned in the Network Services class, but by
taking the basic concepts and applying them to an already running network instead of creating a new
environment specifically to test them, students learned valuable lessons on how to integrate important
services into an already thriving network. At the end of lab 1, all virtual machines set up were given a
static IP address which could be marked down in the wiki and referenced by other machines if needed,
such as the Opsview software which needed to know the location of the other machines for monitoring
purposes. With DHCP and DNS now in place, the focus of how to locate resources on the network was
moved from logical IP addressing to that of domain names. DHCP is now dynamically giving out any
address within its given range (a pool from our subnet), and it might not always be the same every
time, meaning two things had to change. The first is reservations on the ISC DHCP server so that the
same address is given out to systems already in place based on what their static addresses were
previously, and the second is letting resolver software on the virtual machine s query the new DNS
server for the IP address of a VM, rather than someone having to lookup what the address of the

31. The Weather in San Francisco and Corporal by Richard...
Richard Brautigan s short fiction stories incorporate protagonists that are recognizably fictionalized
versions of the author himself. He writes in order to extract his own struggles of the past and the
difficulties of discovering himself in the present. Through the characters in The Weather in San
Francisco and Corporal, the portrayal of his optimistic view of life as a consequence of the rigors of
daily life, and the use of symbols, Brautigan presents his personal story through the words on the
paper.
The characters in Brautigan s stories The Weather in San Francisco and Corporal exemplify similar
interpretations of the author and his own life stories. As an author early on, Brautigan became self
absorbed, deeply depressed, troubled by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His determination persisted because his goal of becoming a general was all consuming. He continued
to [spend] the next few days cynically looking for paper , which led him to the corporal stripes
(Corporal 1). Those stripes of honor joined the others, hidden in the sock drawer. The boy didn t want
to be seen with any stripes besides the ones of a general. However, he never did get the general stripes.
He instead, with confidence, admitted defeat and entered it (Brucker 7). His willingness to accept
defeat with a head held high rather than sulking on the disappointments that constitute so much of life
represents what Brautigan portrays as respectable (Brucker 7).
Through the usage of symbols in his writing, Brautigan expresses profound aspects of his life.
Brautigan [spent] lifetimes searching for an American utopia only to continually be turned down and
collect more and more debt (Contemporary Authors Online 3). He longed for success, friends, and
happiness in life. Becoming a general in Corporal symbolizes success. The boy dreamed of becoming
a general everyday while he sat and watched the other kids [strut] military airs around the playground
and on their way home from school (Corporal 1). He constantly questioned why he couldn t be like

32. Plyometric Training
Plyometric Training
Kelya Jureczki
Hardin Simmons University Introduction
Plyometric training is intended to increase power and explosiveness. The movement of the exercise
simulates sport specific movements that are transferable for enhanced sport performance outcome.
Plyometric exercises can help athletes increase strength, explosive speed and reaction time, which in
turn will increase speed and vertical height. Activating the stretch shortening cycle increases power
output and concentric phase of the movement (Watkins, 2013). Intensity, volume and frequency are all
factors determined by the players needs for the exact implementation to increase performance.
Functional training use of plyometrics for upper and lower extremities can have a substantial influence
on improving skill, speed and strength. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first phase is the eccentric phase. In this phase the energy is stored during pre loading. Between
the eccentric and concentric stage is the transition phase, called amortization. This phase should be
short in order for the energy to not dissipate. The last stage is the takeoff. In the concentric phase the
stored potential energy is transferred into the movement. The muscle is loaded with a lengthening
motion, followed immediately by a concentric shortening motion. In combination, the series is called
the stretch shortening cycle.
The muscle spindle in the muscle being activated detects a change in the length of muscle. Therefore,
the muscles and tendons react reflexively to provide protection.
Basketball
Basketball requires individuals to change speed, direction and movement. Jumping is also an essential
piece of the game. Therefore, both quickness and power are essential for optimal performance.
Plyometric training can be used as a pre season or in season method of training. Branch (2013),

Rumors of Lost Cosmonauts When the USSR successfully launched the satellite Sputnik in 1957 they
began the Space Race between them and the United States. The next step in the space race was to send
a human into orbit which the USSR also succeeded at by launching Yuri Gagarin into space. However,
there is evidence that Gagarin was not the first person to enter space, but only the first person to
survive being in space. While it is only speculation, there are multiple suspicious events that suggest a
Soviet cover up of Cosmonauts lost in space or killed after reentry. These include audio recordings

34. The Glass Ceiling, By Charlotte Perkins Stetson
Faces of Women The glass ceiling is something still very present in today s society. Women in the
workforce are constantly trying to break through barriers set by society to break away from
stereotypes. Many women work twice as hard and still get paid significantly less than their male co
workers. They experience sex typing from a young age being pushed to study more feminine
occupations, such as nursing. While on the other hand men are encouraged to seek positions of power
and leadership. If a woman decides to choose an occupation that demands the use of intellectual
thinking, they are given boundaries to which they are limited. Women are seen as the weaker sex and
have been severely over diagnosed with depression, anxiety, or any other type of mental illness. We
see this issue addressed in Virginia Woolf s Professions for Women and Susanna Kaysen s memoir
Girl, Interrupted . Women are taught to that they need to display certain behavior and uphold a perfect
appearance in order to be taken seriously in society. Charlotte Perkins Stetson uses the art of writing to
bring us along the emotional ride of a woman who s true feelings were labeled unreliable in her story
The Yellow Wall Paper . For decades women have struggled with being treated as subordinates and
this continues today. We are able to see the unjust treatment of women reflected in their salaries,
promotions, and general treatment in the workforce, specifically the medical field. There has been
much

35. My Parents And Broken Parents
When I was younger I was always thankful my parents weren t divorced. I saw classmates struggle
with the pain of separated parents. I heard horror stories of them arguing and children having to pick
sides. It sounded like hell. I knew I was lucky. I got to go home and not have to go to sleep covering
my ears with my pillow, drowning out parents yelling. I was surrounded by love everywhere I looked.
My little, narrowminded self thought I had it better simply because I had parents that never fought in
front of me and lived in the same house. However, I stand here today with divorced parents, and a
completely different mindset on love.
October 18th, 2014. It was a cool, fall day in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The trees were different shades of
red, orange, and yellow. I admired them as I peered out the window of the Xcel Energy Center, a
hockey arena being used for a Women of Faith Conference. I could smell the cold ice under the floor
when I sat in my seat all the way up in the nosebleed section. I was ready for another day of inspiring,
tear jerking stories and powerful music to bring me closer to God, but God had a little something extra
for me that day.
It came to the point in the conference where we heard from World Vision, an incredible organization
that helps children all over the world have the opportunity to make a life for themselves. I had a love
hate relationship with this portion of the day. Of course, I loved seeing children with joy in their eyes
after being
