2. Process
• When first staring the creation of my game I first made the landscape and
background before making the character or any features that he is going to use. I
first used the pencil tool to make the base and changed the colour of certain pixels
to look like rocks or darker peace's of dirt to make the game look more detailed.
Once I had done this I made the hills in the background by using the same method
however once I had finished I double clicked on the layer with the hills and changed
the opacity so that it looks like the hills are in the distance and not like the
character is able to interact with them. I then added different shades of green to
the hills and made them thicker to make the hills look more detailed and appealing
for the audience. I did the same when making the smoke on top of the factory and
when creating the buildings.

3. • After I made the background I moved onto making the
environment that the player will be able to interact with
and will be using in the story such as the vault and the red
house. I put the red house in front of the hills in the
background to make it clear to the player that the house is
not in the background but is near the character and is able
to be used. I then made the “vault” that your character
goes in at the start of the game and added the animation
of the hatch closing and the box on the table opening once
the player has interacted with it. I did this by adding a box
on one layer that was closed and then adding another box
that is open onto another layer that is hidden. Then once
the player interacts with the box the closed box becomes
hidden and the open one appears making the animation
look like the player has opened the box.

4. • In my game a bomb goes off in the story causing the
landscape to change however to make this change from one
scenery to another and look appealing I decided to make the
screen slowly fade to black then fade back in to the new
environment. To do this I added 8 different layers of black all
with different opacity to make the change more appealing
and so that the change wasn’t all of a sudden. This meant I
had to have certain layers hidden and not hidden at certain
times so that the change from different shades didn’t look
out of place or un appealing. On the right you can see the
order that I did the different shades and how I did it.
