4. I believe that Bauer Media would be a perfectly suitable
institution to distribute my magazine ‘GRiMETiME.’ I have
came to this decision after closely analysing the magazine
codes and conventions that Bauer Media products possess
that are extremely similar to the ones displayed on my
product. I particularly identified a vast amount of similarities
in my product and Bauer’s popular product, ‘Kerrang!’
magazine. As also included in my product, the typical
music magazine codes and conventions highlighted by
Kerrang! are colloquial language/ genre specific
vocabulary, enticing images and colours, intriguing
competitions, articles and advertisements.
5. Although Kerrang! and GRiMETiME appeal to differed social groups, they both
possess the same target audience of males age 15-25. (As displayed in the Bauer
official research down below.) For this reason I think Bauer Media would be an
excellent distributor for my music magazine. Another reason why I believe Bauer
would consider distributing my product is due to the fact that although the Grime
music industry is becoming increasingly more popular, there is no particular Grime
magazine available to buy. I believe my music magazine would intrigue a vast amount
of new consumers to Bauer’s industry as well as setting a high standard for any grime
magazine that will later be produced after GRiMETiME’s release. To display an
original product on the market would increase would widen Bauer’s overall popularity.

their media products, Bauer is Europe’s largest privately
owned publishing group. It distributes over 300 magazines
in 15 countries as well as offering online, TV and radio
stations worldwide. Thus it is a large conglomerate media
institution and one of the oligopoly of magazine publishers.
I believe after reading this quoted statement made by Bauer
Media, my magazine would be most suited to be distributed
by none other than Bauer itself. I have included certain
elements of their motto in my media product such as
including convergent links (social media links) to create
synergy throughout the platforms of my product. Bauer also
strive to have ‘excellent content’ which I believe I have used
and considered it to be in the best interest of my target
audience. I could ensure that GRiMETiME would meet the
expectations of the company and deliver the high standard
of Bauer Media’s products .
