A media institution is a company that is responsible for producing, distributing, or regulating media texts. Bauer Media Group and Wenner Media LLC would both be suitable to distribute the student's music magazine. Bauer is a large European media company that distributes magazines like Kerrang and Q, which have a similar genre and audience to the student's proposed magazine. Wenner Media distributes Rolling Stone magazine to an audience of 18-49 year olds, including younger teens, which matches the student's target demographic. Either company would be able to widely distribute and market the magazine through their existing platforms like websites, radio stations, and TV channels to build a large audience.

2. What is a media institution?
A media institution is a company or organisation that is
accountable for a media text.
This could be through marketing, production, distribution
or regulation.
There are many different institution whom produce
different media texts depending on the audience’s
interests, this ranges from newspapers or magazines to
films or radio programs.

3. Bauer
Bauer Media Group is a European based media company,
the headquarters are in Germany where they manage
more than 600 magazines, over 400 digital products and
50 radio and TV stations around the world.
They also manage kiss, 4music and heat etc…
Kerrang and Q are two very popular magazines that are
distributed by Bauer, they are also a similar genre and
inspiration to my magazine.

4. Who would distribute my
magazine?
Bauer are a very good idea for an institution to produce
my magazine with as they cover many aspects of
advertisment.
Their target audience is very large and will cover my
target audience well as well as helping to arouse interest
in other people, this will help to successfully make my
magazines audience larger.
I intend for my magazines production to be large and sold
in multiple stores, not stuck in one. I believe that a
company such as Bauer will produce vast amounts of
copies of my magazine and distribute them successfully to
attract the largest audience possible.

5. Wenner Media LLC
Wenner Media LLC is another company that would be a
good choice to have distribute my magazine however as
the are the main distributers of the music magazine rolling
stones.
The audience for their rolling stones magazine is between
18-49 years old, younger teens are also interested in a
mass amount of their magazines and this is what I am
aiming towards with my target audience.
They have been very successful with Rolling Stones and
this makes it an ideal option for my magazines
distribution.

6. Marketing
My magazine will have to have a large budge in order to
get my magazine out there to the biggest audience
possible. This is why a company like Bauer or Wenner
Media LLC is a good idea.
Bauer are responsible for distributing Kerrang! magazine
and they have a large range of marketing skills, such as
websites, music channels, adverts, radio stations and
posters.
I could use this kind of media publicity to raise attention to
my magazine and gain a large selling audience.

7. Budget and Advertisment
My magazine will be sold at £2.99, this is a fair amount of
money for a music magazine.
With the advertisment resources I will have available to
me through Bauer Media Group will be very effective with
raising publicity to my magazine as I can have it publicised
on their website and or their radio stations through
associations.
They are responsible for 4music who have a large target
audience and is watched by many viewers a day and
publicising my magazine on their channel would bring
many new readers for the magazine.
