2. Bauer Media Group
Bauer Media Group, is a large European
media company that is based in
Hamburg, Germany. They are
management for the portfolios for more
than 600 magazines, over 400 digital
products and 50 radio and TV stations
around the world. Founded in 1875
Bauer Media Group has been privately
owned by the Bauer Family and have
been successful with having a magazine
such as Q magazine in its portfolio.
3. Bauer Media Group
I would choose not to use Bauer Media
Group to distribute my magazine as they
currently already have music magazines
so there would be a bit of competition
within the company. However this may
not be true as the current music
magazines do have different genres so
there will be no need for any rivalry to
develop.
4. Time Inc. UK
Time Inc. UK (formerly International
Publishing Corporation and IPC Media), it is a
UK based magazine and digital publisher. They
have an extremely large portfolio selling over
350 million copies per year. They have many
different ways of reaching their customers
such as phones, tablets and online.
5. Time Inc. UK Verdict
I would choose to use Time Inc. as the media
institution to distribute my product as their current
publications have no similarities to my product so by
choosing them I will have no competition from within
the company. However, because Time Inc. do not
produce any magazines similar to mine they may
have a hard time distributing my product as they are
not familiar with current distribution strategies for my
style of magazine.
6. Distribution
• I will distribute my magazine in places
where you will commonly find magazines
such as supermarkets, gas stations
newsagents and local corner shops . Also I
will make a digital version available to
download from the app store and play
store. I will do this so that I can target as
many people as possible and as not all
people will have access to everything
listed by using all of these platforms for
distribution I will be sure to target as
many people as possible.
