2. How I Conducted Audience Feedback
• I created a survey on www.esurv.org then
printed 15 copies and asked 15 people within
my target age range (16-24) to fill one out. I
recorded 2 people answering them. I then
inputted the data into esurv to create
percentages and tally results. This meant all
my responses would be from my target
audience of 16-24 year old males and females,
as a result my data will be relevant to my
magazine.
3. Question 1/2
Question 1 shows all my responses are from from people in my target age range of
16-24 year olds. The highest number of responses were from the younger end of my
target audience of 16-17 year olds (6/15 – 40%) and from the middle of my target
audience (4/15 – 26%) . I am aiming my magazine to be unisex and as a result both
male and female responses will be useful although in my survey 3 (20%) more males
answered than females.
This shows me that the responses I have received for my questions regarding my
magazine will be useful as they are from the relevant parts of my target audience.
4. Question 3
My audience feedback shows that the main image with 33.3% of responses was most
popular with my audience which shows it attracts them to buy the magazine, whilst
the main artist featured and my cover line bands attracted them to buy the magazine
which shows it is attractive to my audience. The price only appealed to 1 person the
most, this shows the quality of the magazine was more important to my target
audience than the price.
In conclusion, this shows my front cover is appealing to my target audience because of
its features and images
5. Question 4
On my contents page, images take up 2/3 of my contents page. My audience feedback
survey showed images are most the most appealing feature of my contents page
(50%), this tells me my layout is appealing to my target audience and the decision to
have a more image heavy contents page was right. I also have considerably more
features than regulars in my magazine, but my audience feedback shows the features
(33.3%) are more appealing than regulars (19%). This means my contents page is
appropriate for my target audience as It is more image heavy than text heavy and has
many more features than regulars.
6. Question 5
For my Double Page Spread I used a more image
heavy style so as to make my double page spread
appealing to read. This was reflected in my
audience feedback which showed the image was
the most appealing feature of my double page
spread with 50% of the vote. I used a bright colour
headline with the quote “we’re here to stay” which
was appealing to the reader to encourage them to
read it. This was reflected in my audience feedback
as it was the second most popular answer a 33%.
The article itself was the least attractive part of the
double page spread, but as this is the largest body
of text on the page I expected this.
8. Question 6
93.3% of my target audience believed the
magazine was either cheap or the right amount
of money for the content featured, this shows I
have priced my magazine correctly to appeal to
the maximum of my target audience. Only 1
response believed it was too expensive.
9. Question 7
93.3% of responses said yes they would be
interested in reading my magazine, this shows
me that my magazine has been designed and
produced effectively to appeal to my target
audience. 1 response said they were not sure.
10. Question 8
93.3% of my responses said they believed my
magazine fitted its indie rock genre, this shows it
is appealing to my target audience and the
bands in it and style of writing/photography is
correct for my target market.
11. Question 9
100% of my target audience said it was relevant
to them (16-25 target audience) and as all
responses were from people ages 16-25 this
shows my magazine has been produced
correctly to fit this market.
