Who would be the
audience for your media
product?
Questionnaires
• I have produced a questionnaire to suggest and highlight what my target
audience should be, to have an idea of who my I should aim my music
magazine for. My magazine is mainly aimed at people who live in the UK.
For social class, aim my magazine to the working class and middle class.
When looking at ethnicity, my magazine would be aimed to people to can
read English, but mostly to any one that loves this genre of music, Hip-Hop.
This graph suggests how many female and males I
asked for my magazine. I asked 10 males and 15
females which means in total I asked 25 people.
This pie chart suggests the
different age groups I’ve asked.
The most common age group is
12-15 which gave me a clear,
specific idea of choosing the
appropriate target audience for my
media product. The least common
age group is 25 and more, they
would be the less important
people to buy and read my
magazine. Which finally I
chose,15-20 to be my target
audience. The audience profiling
research supported to realise the
pattern of young teenagers read
more music magazines.
This graph highlights to the editor of a
magazine, which is me of how much people are
willing to pay for a music magazine. As it is
shown through the use of graphs, £2-£5 is the
most common amount that people are willing
to pay for a magazine.
This graph shows how interested the people
are about reading a music magazine. Teenagers
are the most interested age group, this is
shown within the graph as well. This was
another reason why my target audience was
targeted between 15-20.

How much time do you spend reading magazines
, in a week?
5min-10min 11min-16min 17min-20min 21min or more None at all
The reason why I asked this question
was because I wanted to find out
what artist was more popular within
the different age groups. For
example ,the teenagers Justin Bieber
was chosen there favourite artist.
This was also an important response I
was waiting from the questionnaires,
this suggests how much time actually
people take there time to read a
magazine's. Yet again for example for
the teenagers 5-10min’s was the most
common chosen.
This graph highlights how most people just buy a
magazine because it includes there favourite
music artist. This means that it is an advantage to
include famous music artist to attract and draw
young teenagers to buy my media product.
Conclusion
• From my research I found out that females participated better than males.
Audience research was very important by choosing my target audience, this is
because it is an advantage to have opinions from external pupil. Also the
external pupil will be buying my magazine. My media product will be
distributed by IPC Media so it would be easy for the external pupil to access
my music magazine.
