INTRODUCTION
Task:
In a group of 2 students, we are given a task to propose a small construction project within a specific empty land.The size of the land shall between (30mx30m)-(30mx40m) and serves one of the following purposes:
1. Recreational Area
2. Commercial Area
3. Agricultural Area
4. Tourism Area
5. Residential Area
To do this project,students have to study types of building development which include suggestion ,rationale,benefits ,site analysis,evaluation and the needs of the project to client and to the community.
Our group consist of two members: Sam Wei Yin and Ng Huoy Miin.
We want to propose a construction project for a Recreational Area.
Our site size: 30x40m
Location:Putra Permai(Putra Height)

Brief introduction of location:
Putra Heights is a residential township in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. It is located in the Mukim (sub-district) of Damansara. The township could be easily located by the tall and famous Bukit Cermin hill in Putra Heights.

Site Analysis
After understanding the final project brief of this project, we had chosen an empty land for this project is located between Jalan Putra Permai 10/1m and Jalan Besar. The site is currently empty and serves no major purpose.

Sunlight-since there is no rooftop to cover the empty land so that the sunlight is throughout the day.
Wind direction- the wind blows from the south to the west strongly.
Human circulation- There is no people staying so that there are no circulation within this site.
Sound-It is empty land therefore low human sound.

The site has been a large vacant space and without any construction or renovation.Hence,most areas of the site is full of grass.A site analysis shows that the site is ideal for the construction plan due to the following reasons:
1. Surroundings with houses, people have a place to relax
2. Has good ventilation due to large open space
3. Good accessibility from any side of the area
4. Has a lot of unutillised space available for new development
Advantage
1. Provide a green environment and space for resident to relax.
2. Sports such as jogging.
3. Protect their physical and mental health.
4. Provide opportunity to meet up and know their neighbors.
5. Restore oxygen to the air and help to reduce air pollution
6. Retreat from the noise and commotion of urban environment.
7. Increase property value .
8. The closer the relationship between parent and children.
Disadvantage
1. Maintenance and development fee of the park is too high.
2. Hard to maintain
3. It may face any safety problem such as the safety of the car.

Towards to the east from our site,it is Jalan Putra Permai 10/1m. .

Towards to the west from our site,there is still have some empty places.And there is a road further far,which is Jalan Besar .

RATIONALE
Proposal:
It is proposed to use the empty land towards a landscaping of a park.The entire site would be utilized for recreation,be remodeled into the grass with footpaths lined with trees,shrubs and pond.Soil will be poured over the base.
Reasons:
Why we proposed to build a recreation area?
We found that the place lacks of green space for residents to interact with green environment. From the site, we also found that is it too concrete and lack facilities that serve the residential. Therefore, the action to renovate the site with natural approach is necessary.
Why we chose Putra Permai our site for this project?
This site is an empty space and is available for people to access to the site. The site is currently purposeless and being a recreation site would be a good purpose for the site.

Concept
The whole concept of this recreational area design is to let people to rest,relax and chill in a green space with several facilities provided there.This recreational area is divided into two part along with a walkway for people jogging and walk.The center is a pond that for people to appreciate the beautiful views and feed fish. This recreational area has a lot of wooden benches,people can just sit down and enjoy the peaceful and the scenery of the recreational area.There are two gazebo in this recreational area for people chill and rest.

Wooden benches will be provided in each section of the residential area. So ,there will be sufficient space for people to rest and chill.

Stainless steel dustbin
this elegant and modern recycling station is a great piece of furniture for any modern public area. Made of high quality 304 stainless steel and decorated with FSC certified pine wood. It is perfectly suitable outdoor use.
It is equipped with 3 interior bins made of durable sheet metal. Customized with labels and stickers on the front body for an efficient and easy waste sorting and recycling. Easy fix into the ground.

a gazebo is structure with roof where people can rest and chill at there.We provided a gazebo in size of 4mx 4m.

Softscape
Mimosa
Mimosa .It scientific name is Albizia Julibrissin. Pink. Main Bloom Time of this mimosa at early summer, early spring, late summer, late spring, mid summer, mid spring. It can growth until 12m. This could give a shady area to visitor.
Mondo Grass
This mondo grass does well in filter sunlight. It will produce purple colour flower. Give a nice view to this park when it reach it blossom time.

Plam Tree
Plam tree give better view and more shady area to this park.
Dwart English Boxwood
Dwart English Boxwood is a slow growing plant. It is small , rounded shrubform tufts of growth resembling a clound unsheared.

Before construction phase,we have to get the permit of construction or renovation by the government by submitting an approval form.The attachment files after this pages are the approval forms that we prepared before construction.

Conclusion
The trend toward greenery is now extended in many places .More green spaces should be provided to resident to relieve their stress of work and studies.However, it is not enough to have just a piece of green land that without any function.This new proposal of recreational area can satisfy the demand of residents where a place to chill ,fun and exercise.It is sure that the recreational area can change the residential area to be more active and enlighten it to become a better environment.
