Examples Of Classical Job Shop Scheduling Problem
1. Introduction The classical job shop scheduling problem (JSP) is one of the major issues in
production planning that each operation is performed by the machine for finding completion
time. Machine is fixed and known in advance. The sequencing of all jobs is assigned on all
machines. This problem is developed method to find the answer more effective and widely. The
flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSP) extended from the classical job shop scheduling
problem (JSP) that each operation can be processed by any machine from a set of available
machines at that time and effect to flexible in the machine selection for more efficiency in the
usage of the machine and without the delay of waiting for production. Generally, the FJSP can be
separated two sub problem; 1) a routing sub problems that assignment each operation on any
machine from a set of available machines 2) a scheduling sub problems that sequencing of
operation on each machine in a feasible schedule to minimize completion time or makespan.
Therefore, FJSP makes the assignment of each machine more complex than classical JSP.... Show

Because changing the type of job that makes waste of time, adjust the machine for operation on

In the most recent years, domestic sales of wine has declined constantly. The wine consumption
is becoming more occasional. This is partially due to an aggressive anti alcohol campaign and
driving restrictions set by the local government, but also facilitated by a lack of marketing
strategy: the wine market is loosing touch with the youth (the average age of wine drinker is gone
up from 35 to 55) and young people are getting more keen to beer or alcohol pops.
Lowered domestic sales may result in a greater emphasis on exports, however the recent trend
showed how French exports continue to loose market share to the New World (see diagram below).

Considering France international reputation and image, it is useful to analyse its strengths and
weaknesses, taking into consideration the important differences existing between standard and

Strengths: France remain quality leader in the premium market; its international image express
Sophistication, Tradition and Charm.
Weaknesses: There are many weak points to be addressed . The puzzling classification and
labeling, the unreliable quality, the rigid appellation d origine controlee which dictates strict rules
on methods of production (see more details on par.6.4) . Its international image is often seen as

Essay On Critical Reflection
Part one: Critical Reflection on your team as whole
I believe our group has struggled from the very beginning with being organized. I think some of the
difficulties started with the team strategic plan. The team would have benefited more, from an
outline of information that would be presented during the final speech (Adler, Ronald B., et al.,
2013). I think our organization was lacking the first day we met to work on the team strategic plan.
We all pushed off the meeting because we thought we had more time and as the due date
approached we quickly met up to discuss what needed to be in the strategic plan. Then asked
everyone to work on it on their own time. I don t think this was the most beneficial way to divide
tasks. We should have spent more time doing group work, and not assigned as much individual
work (Adler, Ronald B., et al., 2013). I think we should have used part of the designated meeting
times to do group work, that would have been the most beneficial for our group due to all
members of the group having so much going on outside of the project, that the time would have
allowed each of us to have a required/designated time to work on the project. Allowing for us to
get more done, earlier on. I think the anticipation of some members to get the team strategic plan
done also caused them to take on too much responsibility which affected their stress level and in
return affect their quality of work. Also causing us to get a lower grade due to other minds not

Thank You Research Paper
I met you in high school. You were a sophomore, and I was a freshman. You were always by my
side, and you treated me with respect. However, I never got the chance to thank you for helping me
throughout high school. I am selfish because you deserve to have my gratitude. I am writing this
letter to thank you for helping me throughout high school. You got me through high school because
you played video games with me to help reduce my stress level. I want to thank you for helping
me get a break from my stressful life. Furthermore, I want to thank you for giving me rides to
school. You always made sure I got to school on time by waking up early in the morning. I
appreciate the effort because I hate getting to school late. I want to thank you for your generosity.

When I was a junior, I had a poetry project in my English class. It was easy because I love
creative writing, especially poetry. I wanted to make a video because I wanted to have a visual
representation of my poem. However, I did not have a camera, and I had no experience with
video editing. I lost hope until you saved the day. I still remember the date. It was Saturday, May
28, 2016, which was a part of a four day weekend. As the clock struck noon, I finished writing a
poem about dreams, but I still needed to record a video. I grabbed my iPad and unlocked it.
Using my right index finger, I clicked on the contacts application and scrolled through the list of

experience with video editing because I watched your videos on YouTube. However, I was unsure

The Foundation And Provision Of Nursing
The foundation and provision of nursing care is guided by key values of nursing and definitions of
nursing. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN] (2008) highlights five values
that represent the core of nursing practice. These values include altruism, autonomy, human dignity,
integrity, and social justice. This essay will focus on my top three values of altruism, human
dignity, and autonomy, how these values are currently represented in my life, and how these values
led to my own unique philosophy and definition of nursing. Altruism The University of Wisconsin
Oshkosh College of Nursing (n.d.) describes altruism as an unselfish concern for the welfare of
others (Values section, para 1). The AACN (2008) describes how... Show more content on

Human dignity goes along with my expression of altruism in my life. I express human dignity
very similar to the way I express altruism, but I express this value further in my work. One main
way I express this is through the provision of modesty and privacy in all ways possible while
caring for patients. It is as simple as using least exposing methods and being respectful and
professional when providing care. I also respect human dignity by giving my patients the power of
choice and respecting the wishes that they express. I believe this is important because the hospital
environment leaves people vulnerable to have their dignity ignored. Nursing researchers
Papastavrou, Efstathiou, and Andreou (2017) describe this problem by stating threats to health
were considered more important than those to dignity and the older people endured threats to
dignity in favour of treating the health problem (p. 94). With this in mind, I work particularly hard
to find ways to uphold human dignity always in my work and throughout my life. Autonomy
Autonomy simply means the right to self determination, but it is a key part of nursing care
(University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing, n.d., Values section, para 2). This is
demonstrated through a study by Rao, Kumar, and McHugh (2017) which found that hospitals with

How Did Howard Carter Death Curse
Howard Carter was a british archaeologist that was known for many famous discoveries during
the early 1900 s. Carter was the lead archaeologist in the dig of Tutankhamun s (aka King Tut )
tomb. The finding of the tomb was one of the biggest archaeological discoveries of the 20th
century, even though the opening of the tomb would forever change the team s lives. With all the
excitement of this new finding, the team threw caution to the wind and later opened the casket,
little did they know that this would later bring on a so called curse that was written in a prophecy
many years ago for anyone who disturbed the peace of a pharaoh. This curse became known as the
deathcurse the boundaries for this curse are limitless it knows no evil or good. According to the
people in Carter s life he led a pretty decent and well respected life for the time that he was alive,
once the tomb was opened under his command the curse began to slowly affect him and his teams
lives no matter if they were good, bad, religious or evil.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of these mysterious incidents was with a messenger Carter sent to his home, when he
reached the door he heard a frightening noise of Carter s canary crying in a painful tone. Once
he was inside he saw the birds cage open and a cobra inside the cage closing its jaws on the
canary. The significance in this incident is the cobra was a sign of ancient egyptian royalty. This
posed the question is the death curse real? There are many other accounts of people from carter s
team dying unexpectedly from things such as blood poisoning. Many people began to ponder if
the curse was a real life thing or a mere ancient egyptian myth. The idea of the Death Curse has
crossed many scientist and archaeologist minds over the past few decades but it has yet to be
proven with anything other than circumstantial evidence from deaths on the

Dramatic Irony In The Book Of Job
The Book of Job is a story like none other. A story written so that it combines the elements of a
poetic drama, wisdom literature, and tragedy. The book for the most part is split into two different
categories of literature: prose and poetry. The reader is able to see both sides of the story through
the two elements. While Godand the Advisor speak to each other in prose, Job speaks in a poetic
dialogue along with his three friends and wife, the only other characters in the story. With Job s
friends, we can really take in the dramatic irony of the entire story as they try and convince Job
he has sinned but as the reader we know the truth to the matter. The story begins and ends in a
narrative prose, which doesn t necessarily blend seamlessly in to the poetic balance of the story.
The reader is taken from a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We have the privilege of being introduced to all of the characters of the story and we know the
motivations and intentions of each side. We know that Job is sufferingnot because he has sinned
but because the Advisor wants him to turn away from God. The story becomes more personal to
the reader when we know both sides of the story and we are able to put ourselves in the
protagonists shoes and hope we would do the same as Job did. Job had every right to blame God
for allowing his life to fall to pieces, however he does the opposite. Job continues to worship the
Lord and praise His name. Job states, Naked I came out of my mother s womb, and naked shall I
return there. The LORD has given and the LORD has taken. May the LORD s name be blessed.
(Job 194) It s human instinct to place blame on something to justify what we cannot explain, but
Job loses everything and he doesn t blame God. Job s behavior is inspiring and is even more
incredible knowing that he has no idea why this is happening and does only what he knows to do:

Human Relationship And Genetic Development And The...
The development of the chick involves fertilization, division and growth of living cells, and
segregation of cells into groups of special function (tissues). Once the egg is laid, some embryonic
development has happened and then usually stops until proper cell conditions are met for the
incubation to resume. At the beginning of the stages, the cells are alike, but as the embryodevelops,
cells are specialized. After the start of incubation, a thick pointed layer of cells become visible
caudal or tail end of the embryo. From the primal start, both the head and backbone of the
embryo develop. The digestive tract forms and the blood islands appear. Later on, the blood
islands would develop into a vascular and blood system. The second day of incubation, the blood
islands link and begin to form a vascular system, while the heart is formed elsewhere. By the 44th
hour of incubation, both the vascular system and heart join, and the heart starts beating. By the
end of the third day of incubation, the beak begins forming. And limb buds for the wings and legs
are seen. The chicks body turns 90В° and turns it s left side on the yolk. Both the head and tail get
closer so the embryo forms a C shape. The mouth, tongue, and nasal pits develop in the digestive
and respiratory systems. Even though it hasn t been enclosed within the body, the heart continues to
enlarge. And by the end of the fourth day of incubation, the embryo has all of the needed organs to
bolster life after hatching.

The Effect Of Sleep On Hemoglobin Glucose Levels Among...
1. INTRODUCTION TO TOPIC Recent trends show that people are getting diagnosed with
type II diabetes earlier. The rate of type II diabetes in the U.S.A increased by 217% in the 0 44
year old age group between 1990 and 2009 (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Several
factors increase the risk of developing type II diabetes, including diet, exercise, genetics, and sleep.
Less knowingly, prolonged lack of sleep severely damages humans health. Sleep and one s
circadian rhythm contribute to maintaining blood glucose homeostasis (ACAM). Through this
experiment, we will study the effect of various amounts of sleep on hemoglobin A1c levels among
children and teens. Hemoglobin A1c levels are strong predictors of blood sugarcontrol. The
hemoglobin A1c level measures the amount of glycated hemoglobin in the blood (AACC). The
more glucose in the blood, the higher the hemoglobin A1c level. We hope to use the data from
this experiment to find a possible connection between amount of sleep and increased blood
glucose levels, while controlling for behavioral changes such as eating habits and exercise times.
Previous studies show that extended amounts of less sleep in middle aged and older adults can
increase hemoglobin A1c levels and that can increase risk of type II diabetes (Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention). If our findings are significant, we hope to stimulate further research in
this area. This topic was chosen because if sleep does in fact have a connection to

The Effects of Alcohol on the Body Essay
The Effects of Alcohol on the Body
You are in college, you are at a party, and you are drunk. You, and the people around you, know
you are drunk by your disorientated behavior but do they know what is causing you to act in this
manner? Most likely not. Most people do not think about what the alcohol inside them is doing, the
only thing they are worried about is the buzz that they get from it. Moderate drinking is alright but
drinking excessively can wear out the body. Three important things to know about alcohol are how
it enters and leaves the body, the effects of alcohol, and how the body responds to alcohol.
After the drink is consumed, the alcohol enters the blood stream. After it enters the blood stream it
dissolves in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the alcohol in the alveolar is exhaled, a breathalyzer can detect the blood alcohol content of
the individual. Lastly, the liver takes care of whatever alcohol is left in the body. Alcohol in
beverages is known as ethyl alcohol, more commonly known as ethanol. This ethanol is chemically
broken down in the liver. The enzyme, alcohol dehydrogenase, strips electrons from the ethanol to
form acetaldehyde. Another enzyme, aldehyde dehydrogenase, with the help of oxygen, will
convert the acetaldehyde into acetic acid. The acetic acid can be used for to form fatty acids or if
further broken down into carbon dioxide and water.
The rate at which alcohol affects the body is determined by three things: the concentration of the
alcohol, the type of drink, and whether the stomach is full or empty. The higher the
concentration the faster the body absorbs it in the blood. When drinking carbonated beverages it
tends to speed up the rate for the body to absorb the alcohol. Lastly, the more food in the
stomach, the more time it takes for the alcohol to get absorbed. First off, the body responds to
alcohol in a series of stages which correspond to an increase in the blood alcohol content (BAC).
Blood alcohol content is the amount of alcohol that can be found in the bloodstream. The first stage
is euphoria, which has a BAC of .03 to .12 percent. In this stage the person loses their judgment,

their technology around that behavior, adapting it to the informational and emotional needs of

the most up to date e tailing technology can t always keep up with the shifts in consumer behavior.
Marketers must continually revisit the consumer buying process, refresh their understanding of it,

An opportunity that CanGo can use to ensure that their customers purchase from them online is by

Establishing online brand recognition is as important as providing good service. Any product

(Walmart, 2012) The company announced a $750 million, 73 store expansion plan in early 2012. A.
Country Competitiveness A large multinational company such as Walmart experiences different
opportunities and challenges in the countries in which it does business. Walmart being the largest
retailer in the world, must adapt to varying business environments. Canada s competitiveness
relative to Walmart s expansion is viewed through Porter s diamond framework. Country Level
Determinants The passage of NAFTA represented an enticing opportunity for Walmart to capitalize
on the discount store industry, of which only Zellers and K Mart had a presence in. NAFTA also
paved the road for Walmart s expansion into Canada. The agreement had the intention of creating
job and economic growth as well as eliminating tariffs and controls on goods transported amongst
the three countries. This phenomenon of internationalization created openness and capability for
Walmart to capitalize on goods production in one country, followed by movement and sales in the

The Effects Of Television On Children
Television viewing plays a significant role in the everyday lives of most American children, and
television sets have become a component of nearly all homes in the USA (Moses). Our society
today is very strongly based on the media, especially television. Americans are not only always on
their phones, but their televisions are usually on, either in the background or they are actually
sitting and watching it. Most people acknowledge that sitting around watching televisionis not
healthy. However, what most people do not realize is the effects television can have on the human
brain. More specifically, the effects it can have on the developing brain of young children.
Television effects the three domains of development: physical, social emotional, and cognitive.
Although a few experts disagree, the vast majority believe that television is harmful to the three
domains of development in the growing brain in young children. Understanding the effects, parents
and caretakers can prevent the exposure to children and help find a healthy balance of tv time.
What exactly are the domains of development? Human development is comprised of three major
domains: physical development, social emotional development, and cognitive development. As
stated in Child Development From Infancy to Adolescence physical development is biological
changes that occur in the body and brain, including changes in size and strength and integration of
sensory and motor activities (Levine and Munsch 158).

of the forms of entertainment during this period. However, there were so many more
entertainment options. There were films. Studies show that 100 million Americans went to see
the movies every week by the end of the year 1929 (bbc.com). Films were like modern day fashion
news. The films kept all of the women up to date with the new styles and norms of the society. For
example, Clara Bow was known for leaving a good impression on women and somehow made
every female in 1920 s New York Citywant to be her. They were highly influenced by these films
and idolized and imitated the actor s behaviors. Yes, there were films so of course there were

Disadvantages Of Professional Recruiters
Recruiters are great to have in your corner if they reach out to you. They have access to more job
opportunities as employers don t always advertise job openings to the public but hire a
professional recruiter instead. Professional recruiters keep an extensive network of contacts and
know where the current open positions are. On the other hand, if you re sending your resume out
to everyone indiscriminately, your strategy can tarnish your brand and hinder your job search. You
need to be selective when using recruiters because not all of them operate the same way.
Advantages of Using a Professional Recruiter в—ЏFree Professional recruiters are paid by their
clients, not by you. If you are asked to pay, seek another recruiter. They are the employer s client.

sounds too good to be true, it usually is. When meeting with a recruiter, listen to their language. If
they are full of promises and candy coated expectations, they may not be the recruiter for you.

Energy, Renewable And Renewable Energy
Energy Future Energy has been a major part of humanity ever since the first human learned how to
harness safety, warmth, and energy from fire. Today, with seven billion humans on Earth, it is
possible that our constant need for energy could destroy our beautiful and fragile planet. One way
to solve this problem is to start using renewable energies such as solar and wind.
There are two types of energy, renewable and nonrenewable. Fossil fuels such as coal and
petroleum for example, are a non are renewable energy. They cannot be recreated once used and
they take hundreds of millions of years to form, much longer than the history of humanity. The
other less popular methods such as hydropower and solar power on the other hand, are renewable
energy. They can produce energy at a constant rate and can be recreated by one way or another.
(Micah and Warhol)
To find the solution to energy problem, find the problem first, take a look at our current energy
sources and find the problems. The first thing people think of when talking about fuel is gasoline
or diesel, both of which come from petroleum. Petroleum is a fossil fuel that releases heat as
energy when burned. The heat released from burning drive turbines, air cylinders that can power
machinery. Petroleum is used mostly as fuel to engines such as cars and planes. (EPA) Petroleum is
important for allowing the modern world that we know to exist.
But even with these easy to see benefits, petroleum is not and should not be the

Sociological Exploration Or Research Is A Complex Process

Essay #2
Essay#2 Sociological exploration or research is a complex process. At what time a scientist
attempts to figure out the way the natural world works, he will utilize experiments to search for the
cause and effect. In other words, they construct an experiment so they can observe or evaluate any
change in one entity and cause another to vary in a repetitive way. When things change within an
experiment they are called variables. A variable is a characteristic that can change in value or
magnitude under different conditions. With experiments, there are three types of variables,
independent variable, dependent variable and control variable. The independent variable is a ...

Step four you will collect data, this is a critical step in the research process. It provides information
needed to solve or explain the research questions. Step five involves analyzing results. In this
step, all the information that has been collected to answer the question is compared to the
variables to determine the difference. Step six involves presenting the finding of the research.
This is where you will validate or confirm your theory by the data collected and analyzed finally
presenting your findings or your theory. No matter what approach that is used in research, the
researchers want to maximize the study s reliability which is the consistency with which the same
measure produces similar results time after time. Researchers also strive for validity which is the
degree to which a measure is accurate and really measures what it claims to measure. The six steps
of the scientific method in research and the relationship with between cause and correlation can be
explained by saying that correlation merely occur when we detect change in two simultaneously;
causation exist when we can demonstrate in one influence that causes the researchers need to
establish correlation and time order and rule out alternative explanations. A survey is a widely

Accepted Public Narrative
Retelling the Accepted Public Narrative The financial crisis of 2008 was an enormous
catastrophe and therefore a perfect story to be adapted to film. Retelling the story of the collapse
of Wall Street had a further result than merely being lucrative though. Movies like Inside Job
(2010), Too Big to Fail (2011) and The Big Short (2015) also inform people about the causes and
dealings of the financial collapse. Most importantly however, they evoke an emotional response by
telling the audience where to lay the blame. However, the movies not only helped shape the public
narrative, they are also reflections of the people s attitudes towards Wall Street. While the movie s
narrative stands in contrast to the narratives that advertising, journalism and public relations told,
it is still the more commonly accepted one. This commonly accepted narrative is reflected in so
many movies since the financial crisis that Michael Pepe argues that it has formed a genre of its
own, stylized with very distinct characters and a clear message: And so when popular films... Show

Due to the mistrust in Public Relations and Advertising and since there is a higher number of
people who watch the same movie than reading the newspaper articles, the public narrative is very
much influenced by the movie s version of the financial crisis. That these other media fields are in
the shadows of the movies is problematic, since movies tend to simplify complex issues in order to
correspond to the public opinion. Therefore, it is very important that the audience makes an effort
to inform themselves independently and outside of the public narrative, in order to make decisions
based on fact, rather than on a biased version of events. Only then can the best actions be made to

Nuclear Fission Vs Nuclear Fusion
The term nuclear energy is pretty self explanatory as it refers to energy produced from the nucleus
of an atom. The bonds that hold atoms together are extremely powerful, and we can use this power
in two ways, nuclear fission and nuclear fusion.
Nuclear fission is the process commonly referred to as splitting the atom, a process first achieved
by a Kiwi, Ernest Rutherford in 1918, when he fired naturally occurring alpha particles into nitrogen
gas. The fission that nuclear power plants use to make electricity involves using neutrons (which
were first predicted to exist by Rutherford) to split a large atom into two smaller atoms, a process
that releases a large amount of energy. As we studied in nuclear and Atomic physics this year and
last year, Rutherford had great contributions to the discovery of Nuclear Power, as he was the first
person to split the atom, as well as the first person to imply that an atom has Positive, Negative as
well as Neutral particles.
Nuclear fusion is the opposite reaction where two smaller atoms are combined to make one larger
atom of a different element. Fusion is how the Sun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Spinal Cord Stimulation Essay
Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is the most established member of the family of therapies known
as neuromodulation, it is technology that acts upon nerves and alter nerve activity by delivering
electrical stimuli directly to a target area (Chakravarthy et al. 2016). SCS is a clinical
application arising directly from the revolutionary gate control theory proposed by Melzack and
Wall (1965) published in Science, a theory which proposed a hypothesis for an intrinsic pain
control mechanism (Lazorthes et al. 2006). Spinal cord stimulation involve the placing a series of
electrodes(4 16) mainly in epidural space overlying the dorsal columns at a vertebral level
innervating painful area (Spincemaille GH 1999). A small extension cable carries low stimulus

The Effects of Feedback on Learning

Bachelor of Psychology
13 April 2015 Introduction
Feedback is an important construct found within many theories of learning and in instruction, where
information is provided to learners after each trials or group of trials, in response to their
movement patterns and facilitates their learning process (Schmidt Lee, 2011). A learning
activity accompanied by feedback can maintain or adapt cognitive operations according to how
new information about performance matches the learner s expectations about performance
(Bangert Drowns, Kulik, Kulik, Morgan, 1991). The person on the receiving end of a feedback
session is able to gain knowledge of the quality and the results of their performance through the
person giving the feedback (Salmoni, Schmidt Walter, 1984; Schmidt Wrisberg, 2004). Research
has shown that the type of feedback provided has influences in the process of learning, which are
no feedback, partial feedback and full feedback respectively (Grant, McAvoy Keenan, 1982).
Research about the presence of no feedback in experimental settings has shown that the lack of
information allows assumptions to be made during the process of learning, which tends to lead to
higher risk of error (Levine, Leitenberg Richter, 1964; Rimm, Roesch, Perry, Peebles, 1971). In a
study conducted by Hanna (1976) which explores

Power of Suppliers and Power of Buyers
A Porter analysis examines five different forces that affect the success of a particular industry.
This analysis is then used to establish if a certain industry is attractive to potential shareholders
and investors. The following will elaborate on the power of suppliers and the power of buyers in
the family restaurant industry; including restaurants such as: Boston Pizza, East Side Mario s, and
etcetera. The different strengths and weaknesses of these forces depend on many different factors
that will also be summarized. Finally the overall influence of each force on this industry will be

In addition the threat of forward integration is irrelevant because of the different customer needs
that the restaurant industry has in comparison to its suppliers. However it is obvious that the
family restaurant industry is insignificant to its suppliers. With all of these factors being
discussed above it is shown that, with only one exception, the power of suppliers is very low in
the family restaurant industry. Secondly, it is important to describe the power of buyers in the
family restaurant industry. The goal of the restaurant industry is to cook and serve meals to the
public and provide them with an atmosphere that they can enjoy while eating their specific meals.
Thus the buyer group of this industry is consumers who have the need to eat, the desire not to
cook and the need to relax in an enjoyable atmosphere. With this being said it is clear that the
products are not bought in large volumes because, in most cases, one meal is bought for each
person. This creates a weak characteristic of the power of buyers in the restaurant industry. The
restaurant industry s major products are the meals that it sells. These meals are similar in all types
of family restaurants but different in comparison to fast food or fine dining meals. Also the
atmosphere that is established in a family restaurant cannot be found

Identity And Ethnic Identity

time I was in preschool until I graduated high school, I was a part of the Hawaiian language

a public education taught completely in the Hawaiian language. As a Native Hawaiian, I felt it
was necessary for me to complete the program in order for me to connect to my ethnic identity.
In addition to allowing me to become fluent in Hawaiian, this program has taught me the

Courage is broken into two categories; moral and physical. Moral courage is having the ability to

You must have the understanding and strength to treat the prisoner with humility, rather than
letting your frustration and anger fog your ability to do what is right, and what you are bound by
law to do. While moral courage can be something that is instilled from childhood, the strength to
see it through in the worst of times will ultimately define your character. Physical courage is
having the strength to act when the presence of danger, or physical harm presents itself. The
ability to continue with the task, with the understanding that you may be injured, or killed, is one

best friend to return to him. The waiting continues all night long and Budweiser takes this
opportunity to pause from the commercial and display the words, For some, the waiting never

Junzheng My Grandmother
To many people, mentioning WWII brings up the war in Europe and the Holocaust. However, there
was another side to the story. The Japanese invaded China as early as 1931, and over the next
decade quickly spread throughout China under their imperialist and militarist conquest. Li
Junzheng, my grandmother, lived through Japanese invasion.
Li Junzheng was born in June, 1938. She lived in a rural village in China called Yuyao, a few
hours outside of Shanghai, which was a bustling city already. At the time, China was going through
the Second Sino Japanese War. By large, the fighting hadn t reached Junzheng s rural village, but
the country was in turmoil. China was a very young country after the end of dynastic rule in 1912,
and different political factions and warlords fought for power. The common people lived in
poverty for the most part. When Junzheng was just three years old, in 1941, the Japanese invaded
the area near her village. To escape being beaten, tortured, or killed, Junzheng s familyfled into the
mountains that surrounded her rural town. She recalled that, Everyone fled into the mountains.
Some people led their cows up with them, and even the cows were terrified. The mountains were
steep and people were afraid of falling. Junzheng s mother and two older sisters were the ones who
carried her into the mountains, because she was only three. The panic and hysteria of the fleeing
villagers meant that they were running for their lives, and were trying to leave as fast

Cake Decorating Papers
From the time 19 year old Ashley was assigned an independent study and she took the Wilton
cake decorating classes, Ashley knew she had found a new love. Her ability to create roses in any
color she wanted, to use a piping transfer sheet to make an intricate design on a cake, and to fill
cupcakes with chocolate ganache allowed her to feel a sense of control and like she was a true
artist. So what exactly is cakedecorating? It is a form of art that uses all different types of designs
and decorations to take a basic cake and make it look more intricate and hopefully more beautiful.
Over the past 10 years, cake decorating products have become more accessible to the general
public, making it easier for the at home worker to achieve success... Show more content on

Ashley has heard about this and did her research. She found out a lot about how classes were
therapeutic to regular people, but how cake decorating has been known to help celebrities and
prisoners as well. Gabrielle Fantelli talks about the benefits of baking therapy in her article and
claims, Kneading a batch of bread dough for 10/15 minutes will sure take away a lot of
frustration and negative feeling, the weighing of the ingredients, the repetitive motions and the
feeling of being in control could help keep calm and level up unruly anxiety feelings (para 2).
She is acknowledging here that many components of baking can help get out a lot of negative
emotions and free someone of a negative mentality or disposition. In Helen Razer s article,
grandma Eileen Scriven expresses that It s just a beautiful medium. I relax by making my
flowers and such at night. I have four daughters and eight grandchildren, and one little one with
autistic features. We have a battle. But I have my cake decorating (1). What she has expressed
is that making the delicate parts of a decorated cake can be relaxing, and can be a get away from
family stressors something that is appealing to Ashley since she often has troubles at home. But
what really inspires Ashley is the testimonies of celebrities in the cake decorating world who
have found it therapeutic. John Whaite declares Baking helps lift my depression. It can t cure it
but it helps, (qtd. In Dawood (para 2 and 3). In need of background information, Dawood
comments that eight years ago, he was diagnosed with manic depression. Whaite himself
elaborates When I m in the kitchen, measuring the amount of sugar, flour or butter I need for a
recipe or cracking the exact number of eggs I am in control. That s really important as a key
element of my condition is a feeling of no control (qtd. In Dawood para 5). Ashley finds these

Challenges Facing Policing
If crime is falling, why has policing continued to be a challenging policy area for governments in
recent decades?
In our everyday lives most of us look to the state for protection and security. (Moran, 2015)
Citizens expect Britain to preserve public order, protect their rights, and maintain justice for all.
While it may sound simple on the surface these tasks are more complicated than they seem. While
the crime rate has statistically decreased, there are other factors involved that happen behind the
curtain. Each of these factors plays a role in the policies regarding policing. Overall, the challenges
that face policing include a rise in overall terrorism, new threats from cyber terrorists, and the
effects due to public perception.

In this case crime. The ability to measure crime is far more complicated than the number of
arrests in a year or the number of DUI cases. Factors involved are not always accurate. Many
instances of crime will go unreported, making it impossible to hold 100% accurate crime rates.
Croft and Moore noted that, western security thinking has an interesting history of being
shocked into change by singular events: the massacre of Srebrenica, the fall of the Berlin Wall,
the launch of Sputnik, the annihilation of Hiroshima all had similar effects on our thinking.
These are all fantastic examples of how in a short span of time the public can become uncertain
about their safety. Since America has crown the current era a the Age of Terror is means there
must be a real issue at hand. Meaning that citizens can now begin to worry. Which lead to a
cycle that goes on and on. The cycle is as follows, ... they [terrorists] want to threaten us ; we are
genuinely worried about their determination to kill; they notice our fears, and speak and act
accordingly. This notion of fear drives the policy involved around policing to be ever changing
(Croft and Moore, 2010). These social changes that have occurred reinforced the social sensitivity
felt around the world making it more and more demanding of police and security (Moran,

Idolatry and Social Injustice and Religious Ritualism, Oh My
The Lord called prophets to speak for Him to the people regarding their sinful behavior. The
prophets were God s spokesmen, who were called by God, held accountable by God, and
empowered by God to deliver His messages. Idolatry, social injustice, and religious ritualism had
become prevalent in Israel and Judah and is rampant in today s society as well.
The prophets delivered their messages through various methods. They preached the word of God,
verbal deliverance; wrote their message(s) down, written deliverance; and used symbolic acts to
demonstrate God s message, visual deliverance. The prophets used these methods of deliverance to
warn the people of the impending judgments that would come if they did not change their sinful
ways.
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall
have no other gods before Me (Exod. 20:1 3 [NKJ]). The people of Israel and Judah had disobeyed
the first Law of the Lord instead they choose to worship false gods. God called numerous prophets
to warn the people regarding their sin of idolatry. Isaiah prophesized against Judah, the Lord will
send a purging judgment against his sinful people, producing a righteous remnant that will enjoy
the future blessings of salvation and restoration. Isaiah cautioned the people about practicing evil
and putting their trust in false gods. Ezekiel, the watchman, warned the people about the defiling
the temple with their idolatry and wickedness; the worship

Cloke On Conflict
In Cloke and Goldsmith s Resolving Conflicts at Work, strategy 1 gives us an overview of
conflict today and the many factors that influence. The authors also explain the many ways nearly
every conflict can be handled. Cloke tells us that differing human perceptions keep us stuck in
conflict longer than is necessary and productive. Early family development sets the default settings
for each person s perception of the situations they will face for the rest of their lives. Cloke goes
on to say that conflictis unavoidable especially because today s media continually subjects
Americans to conflict following a common injunction, if it bleeds it leads.
Cloke then challenges his readers to release ourselves from pointless, unproductive cultural
patterns. To create a dialogue with opponents to increase awareness and stimulate self
improvement on both sides because victories won in anger lead to long term defeat. Cloke then
describes the internal process that takes place within our minds when we are faced with conflict,
the fight or flight reflex. Fight or flight can be acted out in many ways and all lead to different
outcomes between the aggressor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In all circumstances there is a focus either subjectively on the people or objectively on the result.
You have to decide what type of relationship you want with your opponent when you choose one of
the five methods in responding to a conflict. Cloke firmly believes that collaboration is almost
always the best long term solution to conflicts. In collaborative arguments both parties recognize
conflict can be positive, use empathy to understand the other s position, share responsibility and
satisfy both sides interests, fully resolve issues, are honest with themselves and their opponent,

transport, storage), which date back to the earliest forms of organised trade (Lambert et. al. 1998,
p. 5). The term was initially developed in the context of military activities in the late 18th and
early 19th centuries. A key element of logistics, the trade off between transport and inventory
costs, was formally recognised in economics at least as early as the mid 1880s (Langley 1992, pp.
19 20).
Definition
The concept of logistics has evolved over time in response to factors such as changes in the business
environment. Grunnet (1996, p.32) notes that the focus was inventories in the 1950s, distribution
in the 1960s, production in the 1970s, purchasing/production/sales in the 1980s, and business
process in the 1990s. Logistics can be defined as that part of the supply chain process that plans,
implements, and controls the efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services, and related
information from the point of origin to the point of consumption in order to meet customer s
requirements.
There are many different types of logistics service providers (LSP s). Prime Assed Provider, Third
Party Logistics Provider or Outsourcing (3PL), Lead Logistics Provider (LLP), Fourth Party
Logistics Provider (4PL), Joint Service Company (JCS) and Virtual Network Consortium are some
of the key types of LSP s.

The Institutional Racism In Sons Of Anarchy
For my paper, I chose the television show Sons of Anarchy . Sons of Anarchy ran from 2008
2014 on FX. The show centered on Jax Teller, the vice president and eventual president of a
motorcycle club in the small town of Charming in Southern California that are also arms dealers.
Throughout the series, Jax, is trying to respect his dead father s wishes to get the club out of
dealing guns. He is eventually able to do this, but it is too late for him because the show ends with
his death. This show was loosely based off of the Shakespearean play, Hamlet. All types of different
races, and racisms are seen throughout. It has the white Sons of Anarchyand IRA. The Latino

the club would do to him if they found that out. This could be seen as splitting because Juice is
Puerto Rican which the Sons are fine with, but that fact that he is half black is not ok. Also, due
to this fear Juice tries to kill himself, after which Eli says that Potter played him that he just

Women s Roles in God s Bits of Wood Essay
1) God s Bits of Wood is an historical novelВ—one based on actual events. From the novel, to what
extent and how did women drive events and what were the differences between their goals and
those of men? Why the differences?
The novel God s Bits of Wood by Sembene Ousmane is an account of the strike Senegalese
trainworkers underwent in pursuit of equal benefits and compensation from their French employers.
In an effort to coerce the workers into returning to their jobs, the French cut off the water and food
supply to the three villages wherein these events transpire: Thies, Dakar, and Bamako. Ousmane s
novel explores the way in which these hardships evolve the worker s and their families till the
strike is ultimately resolved. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hunger visible in their children eyes did not cause them to despair and lose their resolve,
rather it helped to develop unity amongst them as they faced this hardship together. For instance,
when Ramatoulaye killed the ram Vendredi, the meat from its bones was distributed to all those in
need. So when the French soldiers came to collect her for breaking a law, they did not face one
lone woman but an army of women prepared to fight. Consequently, the soldiers were driven away.
This first victory showed the women the strength they had as long as they worked as a united front.
Women drove events in the novel because with the exception of the first fight between the
workmen and the soldiers, primarily all physical revolts by the Senegalese were the work of the
women. There were three reasons for this. First, whereas a man physically revolting would simply
be killed, it was highly distasteful to the French to kill a woman or child. Second, this was the most
effective manner for the women to aid the strike, since they were largely ignored and could not
participate in the union meetings. Third, the women tired of scavenging food without success and
watching each other waste away. Working actively to benefit the strike gave meaning to their lives.
Also the French, who viewed the African women as ignorant whores whose primary worth was for
sexual pleasure, also consistently acted to provoke them. Arresting Ramatoulaye, assaulting Ad

Coverage of the Normandy Invasion
British and American historians have covered the Normandy invasion extensively, and one
therefore wonders if there is any need for another treatment of the campaign. In Normandy: The
Landings to the Liberation of Paris, Olivier Wieviorka demonstrates that there is indeed room
for new interpretations of this much covered subject. Wieviorka, a professor of history at the
Г‰cole Normale SupГ©rieure de Cachan, covers every aspect of the Normandy invasion:
politics and grand strategy, economic production, the formation and training of military forces,
air and naval power, intelligence, logistics, deception, tactical operations, the French resistance,
the impact of the war on soldiers and civilians, and other topics all come under his penetrating
analysis. Well researched from both primary and secondary sources and exceptionally well
written (and translated, one might add), Normandy belongs on the bookshelves of all serious
historians of World War II. Aside from its appeal to the serious scholar of military history,
Wieviorka s readable prose makes Normandy just as suitable to the general reader interested in the
history of Operation Overlord and the momentous events that transpired in Great Britain and France
in the spring and summer of 1944. The author s main purpose is to debunk the myths that have
grown up around the Normandy invasion, primarily that it was a crusade against evil that was
resolutely supported by politicians, generals, soldiers, and civilians alike. In this

  • 3. Examples Of Classical Job Shop Scheduling Problem 1. Introduction The classical job shop scheduling problem (JSP) is one of the major issues in production planning that each operation is performed by the machine for finding completion time. Machine is fixed and known in advance. The sequencing of all jobs is assigned on all machines. This problem is developed method to find the answer more effective and widely. The flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSP) extended from the classical job shop scheduling problem (JSP) that each operation can be processed by any machine from a set of available machines at that time and effect to flexible in the machine selection for more efficiency in the usage of the machine and without the delay of waiting for production. Generally, the FJSP can be separated two sub problem; 1) a routing sub problems that assignment each operation on any machine from a set of available machines 2) a scheduling sub problems that sequencing of operation on each machine in a feasible schedule to minimize completion time or makespan. Therefore, FJSP makes the assignment of each machine more complex than classical JSP.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the most recent years, domestic sales of wine has declined constantly. The wine consumption is becoming more occasional. This is partially due to an aggressive anti alcohol campaign and driving restrictions set by the local government, but also facilitated by a lack of marketing strategy: the wine market is loosing touch with the youth (the average age of wine drinker is gone up from 35 to 55) and young people are getting more keen to beer or alcohol pops. Lowered domestic sales may result in a greater emphasis on exports, however the recent trend showed how French exports continue to loose market share to the New World (see diagram below). Global Trade Atlas Global Trade Information Source 2004 Considering France international reputation and image, it is useful to analyse its strengths and weaknesses, taking into consideration the important differences existing between standard and premium market. • 6. Essay On Critical Reflection Part one: Critical Reflection on your team as whole I believe our group has struggled from the very beginning with being organized. I think some of the difficulties started with the team strategic plan. The team would have benefited more, from an outline of information that would be presented during the final speech (Adler, Ronald B., et al., 2013). I think our organization was lacking the first day we met to work on the team strategic plan. We all pushed off the meeting because we thought we had more time and as the due date approached we quickly met up to discuss what needed to be in the strategic plan. Then asked everyone to work on it on their own time. I don t think this was the most beneficial way to divide tasks. We should have spent more time doing group work, and not assigned as much individual work (Adler, Ronald B., et al., 2013). I think we should have used part of the designated meeting times to do group work, that would have been the most beneficial for our group due to all members of the group having so much going on outside of the project, that the time would have allowed each of us to have a required/designated time to work on the project. Allowing for us to get more done, earlier on. I think the anticipation of some members to get the team strategic plan done also caused them to take on too much responsibility which affected their stress level and in return affect their quality of work. Also causing us to get a lower grade due to other minds not checking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Thank You Research Paper I met you in high school. You were a sophomore, and I was a freshman. You were always by my side, and you treated me with respect. However, I never got the chance to thank you for helping me throughout high school. I am selfish because you deserve to have my gratitude. I am writing this letter to thank you for helping me throughout high school. You got me through high school because you played video games with me to help reduce my stress level. I want to thank you for helping me get a break from my stressful life. Furthermore, I want to thank you for giving me rides to school. You always made sure I got to school on time by waking up early in the morning. I appreciate the effort because I hate getting to school late. I want to thank you for your generosity. • 8. The Foundation And Provision Of Nursing The foundation and provision of nursing care is guided by key values of nursing and definitions of nursing. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN] (2008) highlights five values that represent the core of nursing practice. These values include altruism, autonomy, human dignity, integrity, and social justice. This essay will focus on my top three values of altruism, human dignity, and autonomy, how these values are currently represented in my life, and how these values led to my own unique philosophy and definition of nursing. Altruism The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing (n.d.) describes altruism as an unselfish concern for the welfare of others (Values section, para 1). The AACN (2008) describes how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Human dignity goes along with my expression of altruism in my life. I express human dignity very similar to the way I express altruism, but I express this value further in my work. One main way I express this is through the provision of modesty and privacy in all ways possible while caring for patients. It is as simple as using least exposing methods and being respectful and professional when providing care. I also respect human dignity by giving my patients the power of choice and respecting the wishes that they express. I believe this is important because the hospital environment leaves people vulnerable to have their dignity ignored. Nursing researchers Papastavrou, Efstathiou, and Andreou (2017) describe this problem by stating threats to health were considered more important than those to dignity and the older people endured threats to dignity in favour of treating the health problem (p. 94). With this in mind, I work particularly hard to find ways to uphold human dignity always in my work and throughout my life. Autonomy Autonomy simply means the right to self determination, but it is a key part of nursing care (University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing, n.d., Values section, para 2). This is demonstrated through a study by Rao, Kumar, and McHugh (2017) which found that hospitals with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. How Did Howard Carter Death Curse Howard Carter was a british archaeologist that was known for many famous discoveries during the early 1900 s. Carter was the lead archaeologist in the dig of Tutankhamun s (aka King Tut ) tomb. The finding of the tomb was one of the biggest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, even though the opening of the tomb would forever change the team s lives. With all the excitement of this new finding, the team threw caution to the wind and later opened the casket, little did they know that this would later bring on a so called curse that was written in a prophecy many years ago for anyone who disturbed the peace of a pharaoh. This curse became known as the deathcurse the boundaries for this curse are limitless it knows no evil or good. According to the people in Carter s life he led a pretty decent and well respected life for the time that he was alive, once the tomb was opened under his command the curse began to slowly affect him and his teams lives no matter if they were good, bad, religious or evil.... One of these mysterious incidents was with a messenger Carter sent to his home, when he reached the door he heard a frightening noise of Carter s canary crying in a painful tone. Once he was inside he saw the birds cage open and a cobra inside the cage closing its jaws on the canary. The significance in this incident is the cobra was a sign of ancient egyptian royalty. This posed the question is the death curse real? There are many other accounts of people from carter s team dying unexpectedly from things such as blood poisoning. Many people began to ponder if the curse was a real life thing or a mere ancient egyptian myth. The idea of the Death Curse has crossed many scientist and archaeologist minds over the past few decades but it has yet to be proven with anything other than circumstantial evidence from deaths on the ... • 10. Dramatic Irony In The Book Of Job The Book of Job is a story like none other. A story written so that it combines the elements of a poetic drama, wisdom literature, and tragedy. The book for the most part is split into two different categories of literature: prose and poetry. The reader is able to see both sides of the story through the two elements. While Godand the Advisor speak to each other in prose, Job speaks in a poetic dialogue along with his three friends and wife, the only other characters in the story. With Job s friends, we can really take in the dramatic irony of the entire story as they try and convince Job he has sinned but as the reader we know the truth to the matter. The story begins and ends in a narrative prose, which doesn t necessarily blend seamlessly in to the poetic balance of the story. The reader is taken from a... Job had every right to blame God for allowing his life to fall to pieces, however he does the opposite. Job continues to worship the Lord and praise His name. Job states, Naked I came out of my mother s womb, and naked shall I return there. The LORD has given and the LORD has taken. May the LORD s name be blessed. (Job 194) It s human instinct to place blame on something to justify what we cannot explain, but Job loses everything and he doesn t blame God. • 11. Human Relationship And Genetic Development And The... The development of the chick involves fertilization, division and growth of living cells, and segregation of cells into groups of special function (tissues). Once the egg is laid, some embryonic development has happened and then usually stops until proper cell conditions are met for the incubation to resume. At the beginning of the stages, the cells are alike, but as the embryodevelops, cells are specialized. After the start of incubation, a thick pointed layer of cells become visible caudal or tail end of the embryo. From the primal start, both the head and backbone of the embryo develop. The digestive tract forms and the blood islands appear. Later on, the blood islands would develop into a vascular and blood system. The second day of incubation, the blood islands link and begin to form a vascular system, while the heart is formed elsewhere. By the 44th hour of incubation, both the vascular system and heart join, and the heart starts beating. By the end of the third day of incubation, the beak begins forming. And limb buds for the wings and legs are seen. The chicks body turns 90В° and turns it s left side on the yolk. Both the head and tail get closer so the embryo forms a C shape. The mouth, tongue, and nasal pits develop in the digestive and respiratory systems. Even though it hasn t been enclosed within the body, the heart continues to enlarge. • 13. The Effect Of Sleep On Hemoglobin Glucose Levels Among... 1. INTRODUCTION TO TOPIC Recent trends show that people are getting diagnosed with type II diabetes earlier. The rate of type II diabetes in the U.S.A increased by 217% in the 0 44 year old age group between 1990 and 2009 (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Several factors increase the risk of developing type II diabetes, including diet, exercise, genetics, and sleep. Less knowingly, prolonged lack of sleep severely damages humans health. Sleep and one s circadian rhythm contribute to maintaining blood glucose homeostasis (ACAM). Through this experiment, we will study the effect of various amounts of sleep on hemoglobin A1c levels among children and teens. Hemoglobin A1c levels are strong predictors of blood sugarcontrol. The hemoglobin A1c level measures the amount of glycated hemoglobin in the blood (AACC). The more glucose in the blood, the higher the hemoglobin A1c level. We hope to use the data from this experiment to find a possible connection between amount of sleep and increased blood glucose levels, while controlling for behavioral changes such as eating habits and exercise times. Previous studies show that extended amounts of less sleep in middle aged and older adults can increase hemoglobin A1c levels and that can increase risk of type II diabetes (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). If our findings are significant, we hope to stimulate further research in this area. This topic was chosen because if sleep does in fact have a connection to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You, and the people around you, know you are drunk by your disorientated behavior but do they know what is causing you to act in this manner? Most likely not. Most people do not think about what the alcohol inside them is doing, the only thing they are worried about is the buzz that they get from it. Moderate drinking is alright but drinking excessively can wear out the body. Three important things to know about alcohol are how it enters and leaves the body, the effects of alcohol, and how the body responds to alcohol. After the alcohol in the alveolar is exhaled, a breathalyzer can detect the blood alcohol content of the individual. Lastly, the liver takes care of whatever alcohol is left in the body. Alcohol in beverages is known as ethyl alcohol, more commonly known as ethanol. This ethanol is chemically broken down in the liver. The enzyme, alcohol dehydrogenase, strips electrons from the ethanol to form acetaldehyde. Another enzyme, aldehyde dehydrogenase, with the help of oxygen, will convert the acetaldehyde into acetic acid. The acetic acid can be used for to form fatty acids or if further broken down into carbon dioxide and water. The rate at which alcohol affects the body is determined by three things: the concentration of the alcohol, the type of drink, and whether the stomach is full or empty. The higher the concentration the faster the body absorbs it in the blood. When drinking carbonated beverages it tends to speed up the rate for the body to absorb the alcohol. Lastly, the more food in the stomach, the more time it takes for the alcohol to get absorbed. First off, the body responds to alcohol in a series of stages which correspond to an increase in the blood alcohol content (BAC). Blood alcohol content is the amount of alcohol that can be found in the bloodstream. The first stage is euphoria, which has a BAC of .03 to .12 percent. Today, with seven billion humans on Earth, it is possible that our constant need for energy could destroy our beautiful and fragile planet. One way to solve this problem is to start using renewable energies such as solar and wind. There are two types of energy, renewable and nonrenewable. Fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum for example, are a non are renewable energy. They cannot be recreated once used and they take hundreds of millions of years to form, much longer than the history of humanity. The other less popular methods such as hydropower and solar power on the other hand, are renewable energy. They can produce energy at a constant rate and can be recreated by one way or another. Movies like Inside Job (2010), Too Big to Fail (2011) and The Big Short (2015) also inform people about the causes and dealings of the financial collapse. Most importantly however, they evoke an emotional response by telling the audience where to lay the blame. However, the movies not only helped shape the public narrative, they are also reflections of the people s attitudes towards Wall Street. While the movie s narrative stands in contrast to the narratives that advertising, journalism and public relations told, it is still the more commonly accepted one. The bonds that hold atoms together are extremely powerful, and we can use this power in two ways, nuclear fission and nuclear fusion. Nuclear fission is the process commonly referred to as splitting the atom, a process first achieved by a Kiwi, Ernest Rutherford in 1918, when he fired naturally occurring alpha particles into nitrogen gas. The fission that nuclear power plants use to make electricity involves using neutrons (which were first predicted to exist by Rutherford) to split a large atom into two smaller atoms, a process that releases a large amount of energy. As we studied in nuclear and Atomic physics this year and last year, Rutherford had great contributions to the discovery of Nuclear Power, as he was the first person to split the atom, as well as the first person to imply that an atom has Positive, Negative as well as Neutral particles. The Effects Of Feedback On Learning Essay The Effects of Feedback on Learning Choo Jun Jie 13107898 James Cook University Singapore PY1102 Exploring Psychology 2 Dr Aoife McLoughlin Bachelor of Psychology 13 April 2015 Introduction Feedback is an important construct found within many theories of learning and in instruction, where information is provided to learners after each trials or group of trials, in response to their movement patterns and facilitates their learning process (Schmidt Lee, 2011). A learning activity accompanied by feedback can maintain or adapt cognitive operations according to how new information about performance matches the learner s expectations about performance (Bangert Drowns, Kulik, Kulik, Morgan, 1991). The person on the receiving end of a feedback session is able to gain knowledge of the quality and the results of their performance through the person giving the feedback (Salmoni, Schmidt Walter, 1984; Schmidt Wrisberg, 2004). Research has shown that the type of feedback provided has influences in the process of learning, which are no feedback, partial feedback and full feedback respectively (Grant, McAvoy Keenan, 1982). Research about the presence of no feedback in experimental settings has shown that the lack of information allows assumptions to be made during the process of learning, which tends to lead to higher risk of error (Levine, Leitenberg Richter, 1964; Rimm, Roesch, Perry, Peebles, 1971). In addition the threat of forward integration is irrelevant because of the different customer needs that the restaurant industry has in comparison to its suppliers. However it is obvious that the family restaurant industry is insignificant to its suppliers. With all of these factors being discussed above it is shown that, with only one exception, the power of suppliers is very low in the family restaurant industry. Secondly, it is important to describe the power of buyers in the family restaurant industry. The goal of the restaurant industry is to cook and serve meals to the public and provide them with an atmosphere that they can enjoy while eating their specific meals. Thus the buyer group of this industry is consumers who have the need to eat, the desire not to cook and the need to relax in an enjoyable atmosphere. (please limit answer to 400 words) From the time I was in preschool until I graduated high school, I was a part of the Hawaiian language immersion program, or Kula Kaiapuni. This program offers students the opportunity to receive a public education taught completely in the Hawaiian language. As a Native Hawaiian, I felt it was necessary for me to complete the program in order for me to connect to my ethnic identity. In addition to allowing me to become fluent in Hawaiian, this program has taught me the importance of knowing my peopleК»s history and realizing my responsibility to my people today. Without this experience, I do not think that I would have such a strong foundation for and understanding of my identity as I do now. Since I was given this opportunity to form a strong sense of identity and develop my own personal beliefs from a young age, it has also taught me to respect the identities and beliefs of others. In the Hawaiian language there is a saying that goes, Aohe pau ka ike i ka halau hookahi, which translates as, not all knowledge can be learned in one school. The hunger visible in their children eyes did not cause them to despair and lose their resolve, rather it helped to develop unity amongst them as they faced this hardship together. For instance, when Ramatoulaye killed the ram Vendredi, the meat from its bones was distributed to all those in need. So when the French soldiers came to collect her for breaking a law, they did not face one lone woman but an army of women prepared to fight. Consequently, the soldiers were driven away. This first victory showed the women the strength they had as long as they worked as a united front. Women drove events in the novel because with the exception of the first fight between the workmen and the soldiers, primarily all physical revolts by the Senegalese were the work of the women. There were three reasons for this. First, whereas a man physically revolting would simply be killed, it was highly distasteful to the French to kill a woman or child. Second, this was the most effective manner for the women to aid the strike, since they were largely ignored and could not participate in the union meetings. Third, the women tired of scavenging food without success and watching each other waste away. Working actively to benefit the strike gave meaning to their lives.
