What Is Working Towards A Solution Essay
Working towards a solution
Personal Level
Working towards a solution needs to start at the personal level because in order to change the
world, individuals need to first be willing to change themselves. There are many opportunities to
participate on a personal level to help combat hunger. One way to personally fight hunger and
increase food security is to grow your own produce and produce for your neighbor. By growing
personal vegetables, reliance on grocery stores for fresh produce is taken out of the picture. Less
waste is produced when food is personally grown and it is inexpensive. Serving food at a homeless
shelter or food pantry nearby is another personal way to get involved. Volunteering time is

2017) . The restaurant offers fresh food prepared from scratch using locally sourced ingredients. It
is expected that if a person regularly eats a meal at Bistro163 and cannot pay, they should
volunteer their time as a payment. It is also an expectation that patrons pay more than the
suggested price in order to help others have a meal. It is a pay it forward system. Places like
Bistro163 address hunger in a dignified manner while at the same time building relationships
throughout the community. If more communities adopted this idea, areas of food insecurity could
turn into places where worrying about food becomes a thing of the past.
National Level
Communities that work together can create a difference within their own town or state and also
on a national level. Natural disasters have a big impact on people and food security, so providing
emergency assistance is one way a person could have a national effect on fighting hunger.
Currently in the US, many people are facing the effects of hurricane s firsthand. A hurricane makes
it challenging for travel, leaving grocery stores empty and poorly stocked. Many people are willing
to volunteer and travel to places of natural disaster to provide aid to those in need. Organizations
such as the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) respond to natural or civil disasters of
such magnitude that a community cannot possibly recover on their

Critique The Heresies Of Arianism Summary
(Ch. 31) In 750 words summarize insights into the deity of Christ based on John, Hebrews, and
Paul. Critique the heresies of Arianism and Ebionism and explain how they fall short of true
doctrine.
In the scripture, Jesus also claims an unusual relationship with the heavenly Father, particularly in
the sayings stated in the Gospel John. For example, Jesus claims to be one with the Heavenly
Father (John 10: 30), and that to seeing and knowing Jesus is like seeing and knowing the
Heavenly Father (John 14: 7 9). The Apostle John s claim in the Gospel John 1:2 that Jesus
preexisted before the world (p. 626). Another interesting statement is found in the Gospel John
8: 58, when Jesus identifies Himself as the I am. Erickson notes that Jesus could have said, I was,
but He says, I am. It is also possible that Jesus was giving a direct connection to the I AM formula
by which God identified himself in Exodus 3: 14 15. Morris notes in Jesus case (John 8:58), as in
Exodus 3: 14 15, the I am is a way of denoting existence. 1138
Although some of Jesus s declarations may seem rather ambiguous to us, there is no uncertainty
as to how the scribes interpreted them. The Jews instantaneous reaction to Jesus s statement that
He existed before Abraham was to pick up stones to throw at Jesus (John 8: 59) (pp. 626 627).
Not only did Jesus not dispute the charge that he claimed to be God, but he also recognized his
disciples ascribing of deity to Him. The strongest case of this is

World War I Was The First Major War
World War I was the first major war where technology was relied on more than the troops
themselves. After what was called the Second Industrial Revolution most major countries
started to create new technologies that in the end would pave the way for World War I. These
technologies ranged from the most used everyday things all the way up to specific types of
weaponry to be used in specific scenarios along the trenches. Most of these technologies of war,
developed from common civilian or household items, these could only result in better use in war.
These machines of war are so vast and expansive in type, but they are all technologies that would
have needed to have been used to bring the war to a close. Not only were machines a large part
but so was Scientific technologies, and innovations that saved or took the lives of many. In many
European countries two major types of transportation reigned over the newer types, these being
ships and trains. Both were used extensively and the usage of them would carry into World War I
,
changing tactics armies took and the speed of their movement as well as their survival. Ships
were used mainly for larger distances ( ie: America to Europe ) where Trains were only able to
carry smaller things along the front or from certain Capitals to the front itself. The usage of the
trains allowed for the movement of shells that were continually made in factories on the home
front, the shells could be run along from the Factories to the shelling

Career Technical Education Essay
Current Economic Trends and Career Technical Education
The changes in economic demands, have a direct relation to Career Technical Education (CTE)
today. In coordinating the right curriculum for a student s chosen field and preparing them to
transition to 21st Century workforce has been a long debate throughout the evolution of economics.
Educators struggle as to what type of education should we really be providing our youth today. The
change in economic demands have altered how many view the role of public education as it relates
to the labor market. Career Technical Education (CTE) is the corner stone for many individuals as a

Throughout the centuries, economy and education grow from apprenticeships and applied learning
of the 18th century to a more mechanization in the 19th century followed by just in case learning of
the 20th century to the just in time learning of the 21st century. As time goes through each century
career technical training was correlated to economic development, and preparing students for job
skills and postsecondary education. Throughout the evolution of economic needs, the U.S. Federal
and State Government provided funding through educational acts by setting aside money to also
prepared students for the workforce. Career Technical Education is breaking barriers on gender,
race, and low income students by deemphasizing vocational as not only specific skill based
education, but also as a broad pathway leading to a more prosperous career if students should decide
to continue to a postsecondary institution. This shift opened Career Technical Education to all
students who are looking for courses that will articulate from secondary to postsecondary

Finding Solace At The Blacklist Essay
I recently told an employee of mine that The Blacklist has been fun to watch through its first
two episodes of its fourth season. I have always been a big fan of The Blacklist, considering it
was the first show I reviewed for SpoilerTV. This may be why I am overly critical of each and
every episode, however, I rarely, if ever, belittle the show (even during what I thought was an
unsatisfactory and imperfect season three). I find solace in ratings, for some reason, which is
why I tend to list them in the beginning of my reviews. I find they are an important indicator
(although the current system is a tad outdated) of a show s progress. With that in mind, The
Blacklist has not done so well in the ratings department since its imaginative and incredible
freshman season. However, the ratings are not so bad as to worry us about its future on our
television screens. The latest chapters, Esteban and Mato , have had modest viewership. The
premiere garnering an ok 6.4 million viewers with Mato losing some of them and getting 5.99
million. I mention all of this because The Blacklist is one of my favorite shows on television at
the moment and should have much more viewers than they currently have. I also mention this
because I think this Season 4, although only two episodes in, seems to be heading back to its
Season 1 roots, which made me say out loud to my employee that I could sum up this season so
far with one word fun . The first two episodes this season have

Analysis Of Hiroshima By John Hersey
The book Hiroshima by John Hersey is, to me, one of the most captivating literary works to date.
This nonfictional book centers around the lives of six survivors two women, two doctors, a
Reverend, and a Father of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. Throughout the book, the
author traces their lives before, during, and after the massive bombing that killed nearly three
fourths of Hiroshimas entire population. The book s setting, Hiroshima bombing in 1945, is a
significant element in the story as it shapes the tone, mood, and vividness of the book,
altogether making it a fascinating story. Moments before the bombing, Hersey briefly describes
what his six characters are doing. For one of the characters, the author writes, Dr. Terufumi
Sasaki, a young member of the surgical staff of the city s large, modern Red Cross Hospital,
walked along one of the hospital corridors with a blood specimen for a Wassermann test in his
hand... (Hersey 1). By simply giving a description of his character moments before the bombing,
Hersey gives his readers a picture of their lives and how their lives will soon begin anew.
Furthermore, by showing the normality of the character s current situation, he gives the reader the
idea that everything is just the way it is. With that mood set, the bombing will be an unexpected
event that causes shock to the reader, marking the story both intriguing and compelling. In
Hiroshima, there are certain areas where a reader will encounter a character in

Concepts of Communication
We all have one life to live. In this life we teach things to others, but we also learn things from
others. We communicate in one way or another to get across with our purpose whatever it might be.
We all have our own communication style, way to listen, communication apprehension, and our
way to resolve conflict. Therefore, I will elaborate in those concepts with my own personal
experience and understanding about them.
There are four different styles of communication private, dominant, sociable, and open. After
taking a style survey I was surprise to know I belong to the open style communication. Open style
is a person that response back other s messages, conversations regarding to their opinions. This type
of person shares information, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once you have understood the process of an effective listener you discover the value and
motives of the people around you. After following those procedures you will notice that your
relationship towards others gets better. When we listen with attention we can learn from others
mistakes or success. Another benefit of effective listener is to relate information with things we
normally do or use, so that later one can review it and remember it. Now, is always easier to
listen, and talk personally with someone. However, when it comes to be on stage the problem
begins, this is communication apprehension. Stage fright begins before we even step up in stage.
I sometimes can t say my words and my hands shake because I am nervous. I react like that when
presenting in front of lot of people. I get nervous also because I think they think negatively about
my presentation. Yet, I combated nervousness by breathing deep before going to the front. When I
was taking speech 1311, and I had to present I will breathe deeply to combat mu nervousness. I
also stretch my hands to break the feeling of nervousness. I usually do this when I get nervous
singing at the church I go to. And last but not lease, I think that I might not be the only one feeling
that way because the others are also going to present and might feel just like me. The last concept
is conflict resolution style. I usually like to make sure that everyone feels

Snakes of Time in Dante s Hell Essay
Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit (Romans 3:13). Snakes have been a
universal symbol of fraud in literature since The Fall, when God transformed Satan into a
beguiling snake and [c]ursed Satan to slide on [his] belly for all eternity for his deception (Alter
41). Dante uses snakes in his epic poem, the Inferno, to tie the fraudulent nature of thieves to their
punishment in the seventh bolgia of the eighth circle of Hell. Snakes have metaphorically slithered
through time and shed, taking on new appearances as deceivers in society. In 2005, they revealed a
new face, Olatunji Oluwatosin, an identity thief. From his base in Los Angeles, Olatunji
Oluwatosin stole private information, such as credit card... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Decker arranged a sting operation to catch this culprit. Caught in this operation, Oluwatosin
dropped the paperwork he had just received in terror and was taken to the Los Angeles Country
Superior Court, where he received an appropriate punishment of ten years in prison under charges
of identity theft (O Harrow, Mimoso). Similarly, Dante s Inferno forces the naked and terrified
thieves to run from venomous snakes with their hands behind their backs, without a hope of hiding
(Alighieri 251). The thieves who once were concealing themselves are now exposed. Moreover,
with Oluwatosin s numerous stolen identities, his crimes resemble the chelydri and jaculi,
phareans, cenchres, and head tailed amphisbenes of Libya (251). Oluwatosin assumed these
identities to camouflage himself, much as snakes do in their environment. However, once
apprehended, both the thieves of Dante s fourteenth century Italy and today s society must endure
punishment. As the United States court system sentenced Oluwatosin to ten years in prison, Dante
Alighieri arranges a more extreme punishment, where snakes thrust between the legs of sinners and
form a knot in the groin (253). This punishment illustrates the idea of contrapasso, or a fitting
punishment. Oluwatosin s life of crime tied a knot of confinement since his former self could never
be restored and his rights were limited in prison. Furthermore, the punishment reveals the

According to research, it has established that breast cancer is one of the leading cause of cancer
death among Hispanic women despite them having a low incidence rate of breast cancer. It has
attributed to the fact that most Hispanic women presents with advanced breast cancer at
diagnosis, and thus is more likely to die from breast cancer compared with non Hispanic white
women. According to Banegas and Li (2012), an estimated number of 39510 breast cancer deaths
in women occurred, and 226,870 new breast cancer cases were diagnosed in the US. Among all

Segregation and the Civil Rights Movement Essay
Protest against injustice is deeply rooted in the African American experience. The origins of the
civil rights movement date much further back than the 1954 Supreme Court ruling on Brown v.
Board of Education of Topeka which said, separate but equal schools violated the Constitution.
From the earliest slave revolts in this country over 400 years ago, African Americans strove to
gain full participation in every aspect of political, economic and social life in the United States.
Segregation was an attempt by white Southerners to separate the races in every sphere of life and
to achieve supremacy over blacks. Segregation was often called the Jim Crow system, after a

One of the cases against segregated rail travel was Plessy v. Ferguson (1896), in which the
Supreme Court of the United States ruled that separate but equal accommodations were
constitutional. However, in 1952, the Supreme Court heard a number of school segregation
cases, including Brown v. Board of Topeka, Kansas. It decided unanimously in 1954 that
segregation was unconstitutional, overthrowing the 1869 Plessy v. Ferguson ruling that had set
the separate but equal precedent. As desegregation progresses, the membership of the Ku Klux
Klan (KKK) grew. The KKK used violence or threats against anyone who was suspected of
favoring desegregation or black civil rights. Klan terror, including intimidation and murder, was
widespread in the South in the 1950s and 1960s, though Klan activities were not always reported
in the media. One terrorist act that did receive national attention was the murder of Emmit Till, 14
year old black boy slain in Mississippi by whites who believed he had flirted with a white woman.
The trial and acquittal of the men accuse of Till s murder were covered in the national media,
demonstrating the continuing racial bigotry of Southern whites. To protest segregation, blacks
created new national organizations. The National Afro American League was formed in 1890; the
Niagra Movement in 1905; and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
(NAACP) in 1909. In 1910,

Essay on Cheap Amusements
Peiss, Kathy. (1986) . Cheap Amusements. New York: Temple University.
In Cheap Amusements, Kathy Peiss studies the customs, values, public styles, and ritualized
interactions expressed in leisure time of the working class women living in New York. The social
experiences of these young women gives different clues to the ways in which these women
constructed and gave meaning to their lives between the years of 1880 1920.
The laboring poor s leisure activity was brief, casual, and non commercial. Amusement was and
had to be cheap. It mostly consisted of walks, visiting friends, and reading the penny press. The
people of the Lower East Side entertained with sights of interest and penny pleasures such as organ
grinders and buskers, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These young women found pleasure in dance halls, amusement parks, and movie theaters. The
young women were not content with recreation at home so they went for amp;quot;organized
entertainment amp;quot;. Dressing up nice, strolling the streets and staying late at amusement
parks became an important cultural style for many working women.
Dancing was the greatest passion of all for the single working woman. This is where they played
out their cultural style. This is also where it became easy for young men and women to interact.
The dance craze gave way to dance halls, which could now be rented for large meetings, weddings,
dances and other gatherings. What mattered in the dance hall was popularity, dancing ability,
fashionable clothes and male attention. Still women had a hard time getting past reality. Their work
and family life undercut their social freedom.
Excursions also played a big part in women s leisure time. Women could now afford to use trolleys
and they used these to socialize with men. Women also started travelling to beach resorts on their
own. Coney Island became a major place go for entertainment. Coney Island had amusement parks,
dance halls, beaches, and the boardwalk, this was a place for all to go.
Cheap amusements became a real problem especially for the women of the late nineteenth century.
The amusements were blamed for debasing womanly virtues, segregating youth

Latin America Analysis
As children grow up they lose creativity due to being impacted by the real world. Just as the
children growing up mourn losing creativity, Latin American people mourn losing happiness in
their country. The regions in Latin America were controlled by totalitarian governments and had to
deal with many basic rights taken away from them. This caused a lot of social realism in writing,
which was expressed through Latin American writers. Social realism was described through dark
tones, atmosphere and allegories to help readers understand how the authors felt during this time in
their country. Authors used dark tones to make readers feel sympathy for them and their situations
through hauntingly dark statements. Clarice Lispector uses atmosphere... Show more content on

He expressed his poetic rebellion against the corrupt government by symbolizing situations for
real events going on. Mythology is one way he helped relate the prevalence of the situation to
help readers understand how empty/dead he feels about his country. I tell myself in the manner
of Epictetus who is going to die? (344). Paz explains how he is represented by Epiteicus, a greek
philosopher who wanted peace where death was accepted. Paz uses biblical references to show
how his culture influenced the understanding of death to relate to the reader. He uses an allegory
between Adam, the first man to live and die, to him ending it which correlates to the end of
Mexico. On our shadowy Earth each man is Adam: with him the world begins, with him it ends
(344). As the world ends with Adam, Mexico will end with the corrupt government it started
with. He also uses a reference to an epic poem which has a very dark underlying meaning that the
entire country faces. By referencing old literature he connects to everyone and shows how these
problems have been repeated throughout history and cannot be ignored. The sorrow of
Gilgamesh when he returned from the land without twilight is my sorrow (344). Gilgamesh was
filled with sorrow since he realized no man can escape death, just as Paz knows his country is in
too deep so it will end up dying. Octavio Paz used powerful allegories to help readers understand
how Mexico was dying and almost completely

Small Group Communication Reflective Study
Studying communications this semester I learned it is more than public speaking, but is focused on
how to effectively share opinions or information to broaden ones perspective. In my
communications class we focused on listening skills, interpersonal communications, and small
group communication. Listening skills were developed when we did speech critiques on our group
members. In addition, we listened to other speeches or Netflix shows to analyze communication
methods. In class, we examined what makes up interpersonal communications including nonverbal
skills, verbal skills, and development of ideas using evidence. In addition, we worked on own skills
by writingand delivering 3 speeches on a topic of our choice that we are passionate about. This
helped me define how I communicate my own opinions to others. Small group communication was

Good Vs Evil In The Searchers
The movie The Searchers is an excellent representation of the movie genre: Western Films. From
the action filled scenes to the time period it set in, there s many components of this film that
heavily qualify it as a traditional western film. Furthermore, It was directed by John Ford and the
lead actor was John Wayne, two very influential people in the making of westernfilm.
In this film, John Wayne plays Uncle Ethan a civil war veteran who is returning home. Shortly
after his return an indian tribe, the Comanches, raided his family s home and took his niece. This
movie shows the year long journey Ethan took to find his niece and retrieve her from the indians
who took her away.
There are many ways that this film fit itself into the Western film genre. One of the most common
components of western film is the the concept of good versus evil. The good is the cowboys and
the evil is the Indians. The movie The Searchers, has many good vs. Evil fights. In the scene

Great Expectations Guilt
A common theme in Great Expectations is guilt. Dickens reveals that guilt is one of the many
components that helps shape a character as a whole. Through his transformation in the story, Pip
displays examples of the effects of guilt. After he helps Magwitch by supplying him with a file
and food, he experiences horrible guilt. The guilt he feels causes him to be fearful of his
surroundings and of being caught for what he did. After a while, his feelings from that incident die
off, but he comes face to face with guilt many more times throughout the novel. There are many
times throughout the novel where Pip shows feelings of guilt. In the second stage of the novel, Pip

The price per cup for both small as well as large customers is reduced.
It can maintain competitiveness in the large customer segment by maintaining 15% Profit Margin.
Revenue stream generated from the customer segments may get impacted with changes in
Transaction Costs and subsequently Price per Kit.
Improved cost allocation will ensure that the company can maintain competitiveness without any
appreciation in costs to customers.
On Strategy:
The company should target to serve the large customer base with better profit margins and also
choose to serve those small customers who are willing to pay the targeted price per kit.
For difficult to serve small customers alternate and cost effective means of ordering, transporting
and fulfilling the orders should be sought.
Personnel costs, both direct and indirect should be brought under control.
Promote bulk orders among the small customers so that effective price/cup for small customers can
be brought down.
Question 3
What advice would you offer to Stuart Daw?
Our advice to Stuart Daw would be:
Stuart Daw should adopt the new Transaction Cost allocation mechanism, which will enable it to
remain competitive in the large customer segment.

Sample Theme Essay on Amigo Brothers
SAMPLE ESSAY ON THEME The Amigo Brothers, written by Piri Thomas, is a story about a
special friendship between two boys. Antonio and Felix, two seventeen year old boys, have grown
up together and are very close to one another. They do almost everything together. They both dream
of a future in which they will be the lightweight champions of the world, and together they help
each other train regularly. Then a time comes when their friendship is threatened because for the
first time ever, they have to compete against one another in a match. In the end, however, their
relationship survives because both boys value their friendship above their ambitions. Through the
words, thoughts, and actions of Antonio and Felix, the author expresses the... Show more content on

Felix, too, tries to block out his thoughts and feelings about Antonio, but while he is sitting in a
movie theater, his thoughts are so much with Antonio that he keeps imagining Antonio s face on
the movie screen while he, Felix, is punching him out. Both boys are unable to stop thinking about
protecting the other because their relationship is so important to them. Here, again Piri uses the
boys to testify to the value of friendship. Finally, the story s theme is relayed through the final
actions of the boys. During the fight, both are focused on winning the match. Each attacks the other
with full force. The fight becomes so violent that the referee has to pull them apart. After cold water
is poured on both of them, they start to come back to reality. When they realize what has happened
to them, they rush toward each other and hug. Afterwards, the bell rings to announce the winner of
the fight, but when the announcer looks around to identify the victor, no one is there. The boys
leave the ring arm in arm. The reason they leave is that they realize that winning is not what is most
important to them. What they really care about is their friendship. Piri finalizes his theme through
the ultimate actions of the boys. In conclusion, the boys choice to leave

Character Of Polonius In Hamlet
How significant is the character of Polonius in the play Hamlet .
In the play Hamlet the character Polonius is a courtier to the king Claudius. He is the epitome of
everything that Hamlet hates in the court of Denmark. Polonius s character is at many points in
the play is a comic character who contradicts himself constantly and finds incredibly long winded
ways to embellish his points. Shakespeare uses the persona of Polonius, as a satirical figure and
as a foil, to show what is wrong with the court of the time. Polonius is also the father of Laertes
and Ophelia who are integral to the final downfall of the Danish kingdom. The tensions that arise
from the death of Polonius is prevalent throughout the remainder of the play, and his passing ...

His use of complex language to increase his intelligence is both farcical and comical in nature.
The most obvious example of this satirical self mockery in the play comes in Act two scene two
Therefore, since brevity is the soul of wit, And tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes, I will
be brief. In this single sentence Polonius proves to himself and the world that he his does not have
the soul of wit due to the fact that even though he is trying to talk about being short winded,
Polonius cannot help himself from embellishing his point and therefore showing that he cannot be
brief. Polonius s inability to use decisive and precise diction is a major factor in the animosity that
grows between him and Hamlet in the play and provides the basis for that particular subplot.
However Polonius still manages to make a mockery of himself when he interrupts a player
claiming that the speech was too long . This is an allusion in itself to the contradictory nature of
the upper classes. Where one law applies to everyone else and another to themselves, his clear lack
of consistency is used by Shakespeare to further enhance Polonius s comical

Anti-Aging Benefits Of The Mediterranean Diet
Anti Aging Benefits of Mediterranean Diet
September 15, 2016
Jonathan Swift said, Everybody wants to live forever, but nobody wants to grow old.
Wouldn t it be nice? If we could stay healthy and young, living as long as possible would be great.
Because that is a deep down desire of the majority, many people are always on a quest to slow
down the aging process.
So, our question for today is: What are the Anti Aging Benefits of the Mediterranean Diet?
First, we must acknowledge that no diet in the world can halt or slow the aging process. Aging is
inevitable and food is not the elixir of life although the type of food you choose can lengthen or
shorten your life.
What has been proven by numerous studies is that the Mediterranean diet ... Show more content on

People eat whatever is the most convenient with little regard for their health. This is very upsetting
and dangerous for the population as a whole.
There is a wide assumption that healthy food is not delicious. They believe that they must live on
a steady diet of raw carrots and steamed chicken breasts and decide that is not for them. They
would much rather have a fast food burger and cheese fries instead it s easier and tastier.
What they don t know is that the Mediterranean Diet is filled with DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY
food, which is why people in the Mediterranean Region are often healthier and live longer lives than
Americans.
The foundation of the Med Diet is fresh vegetables. In the US, vegetables are typically an
afterthought, with unhealthy choices like fried potatoes being classified as vegetables.
When you make vegetables the center of your meals, you will get your daily dose of antioxidants
to fight the free radicals in your body; plus give your body necessary nutrients and keep your skin
healthy and supple.
Fruit is another important part of the Med diet. They are filled with nutrients and rich in fiber,
which slows down digestion so you do not get hungry as quickly. The fruit also prevents sugar

Effects Of Mongol Rule On China
In breaking down the causations and effects of the Mongols regarding their rule on China during
1200 1500, one can see these include the implementation of governing philosophies of elected
officials that shaped Chinese culture, the influence of tax farming systems on China s economy,
and the influence of trade on social hierarchies. An example of an impact by the Mongols on
Chinese rule is the negative influences of tax farming on Chinese economy. Another example of a
causation of Mongol rule on Chinais the of tax farming systems in order to improve revenue in the
area.
China during Mongol domination, incorporated philosophy and organization into the government,
which helped it shape their cultural and political outlook. An example of an impact of Mongol rule
on China s government is their use of provinces to organize China s cities, specifically with Yunnan.
The Mongols used provinces to systemize the government and appointed governors to each district,
where that governor would take care of the taxes. The reason for this method of organization is that
the Mongols trusted foreigners more than the Chinese, so they appointed their tasks to foreigners
such as the governor of Yunnan. The governor of Yunnan didn t have any major positions, but he
helped develop the trade in his region and promoted Confucian belief which along with the
provincial organization shaped China. An example of a causation for the incorporation of
Confucian belief in government was due to the Mongols

Hybrid Energy system (HRES) combines two or more renewable energy sources used together to

subsequent rise in prices of petroleum products. Hybrid energy system is an excellent solution for
electrification of remote rural areas where the grid extension is difficult and not economical. [29]
Such system incorporates a combination of one or several renewable energysources such as solar

Offensive Word Essay
The main issue is the use of a word that many find offensive, in a book that many consider to be
one of the greatest American novels. To make the book more accessible to a greater number of
people, New South Books has reprinted Huckleberry Finn changing that offensive word to slave

removing the offensive word from the book changes the book and makes the impact of the book

offensive word takes away the impact and importance of the book. The first side who is in favor of

Eventually they obtained an address where some of the biofuel production was occurring but when

In May 2011 Judge Beth P issued several warrants and seizures warrants for Hailey s home, office,

effective way of protecting worker s rights. Without the formation of unions such as the United
Farm Workers founded by Chavez and Huerta in 1962, vulnerable workers would have no defense

Society always judges people on their actions, thinking about how moral or immoral. In the movie
Gladiator by Ridley Scott, they explore the wrongs of man. The protagonist, Maximus Decimus

Reconstruction African American Reconstruction
American Reconstruction began in 1865 at the end of the civil war. The period s main focus was to
rebuild the country after war by enacting and changing many key pieces of legislature in the
American government. One divisive factor that needed to be addressed was how much
representation African Americans deserved in America. During the reconstruction period, African
American rights were extended through various new amendments and working opportunities,
however, these rights did not last long as they were undermined by black codes and sharecropping.
In 1865, the American government successfully passed the thirteenth amendment: ending the
institution of slavery in America. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a
punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the
United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. The thirteenth amendment opened up
economic opportunity for African Americans as slaves were no longer owned by someone else.
However, not long after the thirteenth amendment was passed, former slaveholders and
southerners created the black codes. Black Codes were a set of laws intended to restrict African
American freedoms, causing them to go into low wage labor. A black code passed in the state of
South Carolina stated, To do farm work, a black in South Carolina had to have a written contract,
attested to by white witnesses; failure to obtain one before commencing to work was a misdemeanor

For example, dairy products from Quebec, which provide half of the industrial milk for the rest

International trade agreements would spread to both Canada and Quebec in negotiations with

Due to the high intervention of Quebec government in the economy, it is unlikely Quebec would

Please Ignore Vera Dietz Summary
Have you ever changed yourself for someone? Bought clothes that were popular, or changed
your attitude for your friends or parents. Finding yourself when everyone around you is
changing, morphing is one of that things that most people struggle with their entire life and
sometimes it defines us and other times leaves us a pickle on a big mac. Please Ignore Vera
Dietz is a novel about Vera the main protagonist going on with daily life like nothing happened
after her best friend Charlie dies. This novel communicates the idea that you are always not the
problem and that you need to step back and look at what you have, and self acceptance is the key
to all your problems.
Contemplation is a commanding thought; it can make things better or worse. Veras first big
thought of contemplation is when her mother left the family, and weather or not it was her fault.
It haunts her father that Sindy left and he dwells on her in the most minuate ways, like keeping
her clothes in the closet or her class china wear on the cabinet. Vera always wonders if its her
fault for her mother leaving because her mother in Veras words never wanted her. She is also
confused on what she wants to do with her life after college, does she want to become a vet or just
give up her dreams completely because everyone thinks that she is just going to become a stripper
just like her mother. I struggle with the same things everyday wondering if my mother would have
done if she didn t have me at such a young age.

Beach Erosion In Virginia Beach
Erosion has the ability to ruin large buildings or simply be an inconvenience to someone. Erosion
happens gradually and it happens by wind or water breaking pieces of an object. Humans are said
to have made the process faster. We are tearing trees and dirt and replace it with infrastructure.
Tearing down nature makes erosionmore liable. Since we have learned how we speed up erosion
and how erosion is bad for our creations, we can use that knowledge to know how to handle those
problems. First of all, farmers or gardeners acknowledge erosion and take into consideration of
how to deal with it. When farmers or gardeners plough their plants, the topsoil can easily be
eroded with wind or run offs. This can create problems for local streams or for the soil. People

Personality And Theory Of Personality Essay
Personality Examined
Personality is deeply complexing subject that cannot be easily summed up. There is no concrete
right answer, or only one way to evaluate any given subject, as every aspect of personality has more
than one view point or angle. Famous psychologists such as Freud, Adler, Jung, Erickson, Eysenck,
and Skinner all shaped and conducted the research that would come together and be taught to
generations as the foundations of personality and the theory of personality. To better understand the
idea of personality, we are going to examine the six different cornerstones of personality. They
consist of Nature versus Nurture, The Unconscious, You of the Self, Development, Motivation and
Maturation. In this, no one theory is more valid than the other, and no one research has more
validity than the other. In this paper each cornerstone will be examined using scholarly research.
Foundations of Personality
Nature Versus Nurture Before the concept of nature versus nurture can be broken down and
examined, first there must be a proper understanding of both terms. In context of nature versus
nurture, nature refers to a person s biological factors, such as the hereditary factors passed down
from the genes of their birth parents. Whereas nurture refers to an individual s personal experience
and environment that shapes them into who they are, and gave them a form of identity. Montag et
al (2016), work suggests that while in some cases nurture can be an influence on

King Charles II
When we think of a King we have a Royal figure in mind that is chosen or while others are not, to
rule their country, an extravagant non ordinary person. What about the King of England,
Scotland, and Ireland. That was King Charles II, an extra ordinary person that the people loved,
especially the women. Charles the Second was a man of high stature who accomplished good deeds
and was a very merry monarch behind the scenes. Exactly who was Charles II? He was born May
29, 1630. Charles II was the eldest son of King Charles I of England and Queen Henrietta Maria.
Preparations were made for the young prince to be baptized in July. The baptism of a prince is an ...

Louise de Keroualle attempted to persuade Charles to become a Catholic, a suicidal move in
strongly Protestant England; Charles was canny enough to resist, despite his own Catholic
leanings (Jokinen). On his deathbed in 1685, the King begged his brother and successor, James
Do not let poor Nelly starve. James generously paid Nell s debts and gave her an allowance, but
it was not for long. After Nell s death she became something of a legend, as a good natured
charmer, and an ordinary girl from the slums who was probably the only mistress of King
Charles who truly loved him (Abbott). He is known as the Merry Monarch in reference to both
the liveliness and hedonism of his court as well as the relief to return to normality after ten years
of puritan rule (Jokinen). Charles II was definitely a lady s man considering he had no children
with his wife, Catherine. Charles II made changes in England that affected the entire world so to
speak. Charles created a council of five men who were to be his ministers and a liaison with
Parliament (Abbott). They were members of Parliament and the beginning of what would
eventually become the cabinet of parliamentary government that portion of the government that
would perform government functions in the place of the monarch (Abbott). Charles was extremely
tolerant of those who had condemned his father to death (Jokinen). He was also tolerant in religious

purchasing the product (Barnes, n.d.). The CPI represents all goods and services purchased for

Killing The Albatross
At the begging of the poem the ancient Mariner and shipmates believed the Albatross to be
heavenly. At length did cross an Albatross,
Through the fog it came;
As if it had been a Christian soul,
We hailed it in God s name. (Page 200)
They associated the wind picking up with the Albatross arrival and though that is was god that
made his presents to help them in the form of the Albatross. Yet, when the fog creeped in the
ancient Mariner assumed it was the Albatross creating the bad luck and that he was not a creature
sent by God. The ancient Mariner convicted his fellow shipmates that the Albatross must die
because if the weather did not change to their favor they would be doomed to die at sea.

Human being have the tendency to rationalize their and other people s actions with the outcome.
For instance, the ancient Mariner could not control the weather so he associated the Albatross as
a bad omen and to regain control he had to kill it. The ancient Mariner could not understand the
weather but he believed if he could control the fate of the Albatross he then had control of the
weather. Even though humans can t control nature he wanted to be in control of his own fate (that
is human nature). When the weather becomes worse he interprets it as his fault because once
again he must be in control of his outcome. If you look closely to the begging and end of the
poem it hints that for him to be the sole survivor there must be a reason. At the begging of the

The Importance Of Bail Bonding
When it comes to finding a bail bondsman, a lot of people make the mistake of arriving at a
decision in haste. While it s true that when a loved one is in jail, the first thing that you would
like to do is contact a bail bondsman, doing a bit of research can be beneficial for both you and
your loved one. The fact of the matter is that bail bonding is a fiercely competitive industry and
not every agency is created equal. There are some unethical, dubious bail bonds agencies that try to
lure gullible people into entrusting them. Therefore, it s very important that you choose a reliable

What Is Working Towards A Solution Essay Working towards a solution Personal Level Working towards a solution needs to start at the personal level because in order to change the world, individuals need to first be willing to change themselves. There are many opportunities to participate on a personal level to help combat hunger. One way to personally fight hunger and increase food security is to grow your own produce and produce for your neighbor. By growing personal vegetables, reliance on grocery stores for fresh produce is taken out of the picture. Less waste is produced when food is personally grown and it is inexpensive. Places like Bistro163 address hunger in a dignified manner while at the same time building relationships throughout the community. If more communities adopted this idea, areas of food insecurity could turn into places where worrying about food becomes a thing of the past. National Level Communities that work together can create a difference within their own town or state and also on a national level. Natural disasters have a big impact on people and food security, so providing emergency assistance is one way a person could have a national effect on fighting hunger. Currently in the US, many people are facing the effects of hurricane s firsthand. A hurricane makes it challenging for travel, leaving grocery stores empty and poorly stocked. Critique the heresies of Arianism and Ebionism and explain how they fall short of true doctrine. In the scripture, Jesus also claims an unusual relationship with the heavenly Father, particularly in the sayings stated in the Gospel John. For example, Jesus claims to be one with the Heavenly Father (John 10: 30), and that to seeing and knowing Jesus is like seeing and knowing the Heavenly Father (John 14: 7 9). The Apostle John s claim in the Gospel John 1:2 that Jesus preexisted before the world (p. 626). Another interesting statement is found in the Gospel John 8: 58, when Jesus identifies Himself as the I am. Erickson notes that Jesus could have said, I was, but He says, I am. It is also possible that Jesus was giving a direct connection to the I AM formula by which God identified himself in Exodus 3: 14 15. Morris notes in Jesus case (John 8:58), as in Exodus 3: 14 15, the I am is a way of denoting existence. 1138 Although some of Jesus s declarations may seem rather ambiguous to us, there is no uncertainty as to how the scribes interpreted them. The Jews instantaneous reaction to Jesus s statement that He existed before Abraham was to pick up stones to throw at Jesus (John 8: 59) (pp. 626 627). Not only did Jesus not dispute the charge that he claimed to be God, but he also recognized his disciples ascribing of deity to Him. The strongest case of this is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After what was called the Second Industrial Revolution most major countries started to create new technologies that in the end would pave the way for World War I. These technologies ranged from the most used everyday things all the way up to specific types of weaponry to be used in specific scenarios along the trenches. Most of these technologies of war, developed from common civilian or household items, these could only result in better use in war. These machines of war are so vast and expansive in type, but they are all technologies that would have needed to have been used to bring the war to a close. Not only were machines a large part but so was Scientific technologies, and innovations that saved or took the lives of many. In many European countries two major types of transportation reigned over the newer types, these being ships and trains. Both were used extensively and the usage of them would carry into World War I , changing tactics armies took and the speed of their movement as well as their survival. Ships were used mainly for larger distances ( ie: America to Europe ) where Trains were only able to carry smaller things along the front or from certain Capitals to the front itself. The usage of the trains allowed for the movement of shells that were continually made in factories on the home front, the shells could be run along from the Factories to the shelling ... • 7. Finding Solace At The Blacklist Essay I recently told an employee of mine that The Blacklist has been fun to watch through its first two episodes of its fourth season. I have always been a big fan of The Blacklist, considering it was the first show I reviewed for SpoilerTV. This may be why I am overly critical of each and every episode, however, I rarely, if ever, belittle the show (even during what I thought was an unsatisfactory and imperfect season three). I find solace in ratings, for some reason, which is why I tend to list them in the beginning of my reviews. I find they are an important indicator (although the current system is a tad outdated) of a show s progress. With that in mind, The Blacklist has not done so well in the ratings department since its imaginative and incredible freshman season. However, the ratings are not so bad as to worry us about its future on our television screens. The latest chapters, Esteban and Mato , have had modest viewership. The premiere garnering an ok 6.4 million viewers with Mato losing some of them and getting 5.99 million. I mention all of this because The Blacklist is one of my favorite shows on television at the moment and should have much more viewers than they currently have. I also mention this because I think this Season 4, although only two episodes in, seems to be heading back to its Season 1 roots, which made me say out loud to my employee that I could sum up this season so far with one word fun . The first two episodes this season have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Analysis Of Hiroshima By John Hersey The book Hiroshima by John Hersey is, to me, one of the most captivating literary works to date. This nonfictional book centers around the lives of six survivors two women, two doctors, a Reverend, and a Father of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. Throughout the book, the author traces their lives before, during, and after the massive bombing that killed nearly three fourths of Hiroshimas entire population. The book s setting, Hiroshima bombing in 1945, is a significant element in the story as it shapes the tone, mood, and vividness of the book, altogether making it a fascinating story. Moments before the bombing, Hersey briefly describes what his six characters are doing. For one of the characters, the author writes, Dr. Terufumi Sasaki, a young member of the surgical staff of the city s large, modern Red Cross Hospital, walked along one of the hospital corridors with a blood specimen for a Wassermann test in his hand... (Hersey 1). By simply giving a description of his character moments before the bombing, Hersey gives his readers a picture of their lives and how their lives will soon begin anew. Furthermore, by showing the normality of the character s current situation, he gives the reader the idea that everything is just the way it is. With that mood set, the bombing will be an unexpected event that causes shock to the reader, marking the story both intriguing and compelling. In Hiroshima, there are certain areas where a reader will encounter a character in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We communicate in one way or another to get across with our purpose whatever it might be. • 10. Snakes of Time in Dante s Hell Essay Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit (Romans 3:13). Snakes have been a universal symbol of fraud in literature since The Fall, when God transformed Satan into a beguiling snake and [c]ursed Satan to slide on [his] belly for all eternity for his deception (Alter 41). Dante uses snakes in his epic poem, the Inferno, to tie the fraudulent nature of thieves to their punishment in the seventh bolgia of the eighth circle of Hell. Snakes have metaphorically slithered through time and shed, taking on new appearances as deceivers in society. In 2005, they revealed a new face, Olatunji Oluwatosin, an identity thief. From his base in Los Angeles, Olatunji Oluwatosin stole private information, such as credit card... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Decker arranged a sting operation to catch this culprit. Caught in this operation, Oluwatosin dropped the paperwork he had just received in terror and was taken to the Los Angeles Country Superior Court, where he received an appropriate punishment of ten years in prison under charges of identity theft (O Harrow, Mimoso). Similarly, Dante s Inferno forces the naked and terrified thieves to run from venomous snakes with their hands behind their backs, without a hope of hiding (Alighieri 251). The thieves who once were concealing themselves are now exposed. Moreover, with Oluwatosin s numerous stolen identities, his crimes resemble the chelydri and jaculi, phareans, cenchres, and head tailed amphisbenes of Libya (251). Oluwatosin assumed these identities to camouflage himself, much as snakes do in their environment. However, once apprehended, both the thieves of Dante s fourteenth century Italy and today s society must endure punishment. As the United States court system sentenced Oluwatosin to ten years in prison, Dante Alighieri arranges a more extreme punishment, where snakes thrust between the legs of sinners and form a knot in the groin (253). This punishment illustrates the idea of contrapasso, or a fitting punishment. Oluwatosin s life of crime tied a knot of confinement since his former self could never be restored and his rights were limited in prison. Furthermore, the punishment reveals the ... • 12. Segregation and the Civil Rights Movement Essay Protest against injustice is deeply rooted in the African American experience. The origins of the civil rights movement date much further back than the 1954 Supreme Court ruling on Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka which said, separate but equal schools violated the Constitution. From the earliest slave revolts in this country over 400 years ago, African Americans strove to gain full participation in every aspect of political, economic and social life in the United States. Segregation was an attempt by white Southerners to separate the races in every sphere of life and to achieve supremacy over blacks. One of the cases against segregated rail travel was Plessy v. Ferguson (1896), in which the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that separate but equal accommodations were constitutional. However, in 1952, the Supreme Court heard a number of school segregation cases, including Brown v. Board of Topeka, Kansas. It decided unanimously in 1954 that segregation was unconstitutional, overthrowing the 1869 Plessy v. Ferguson ruling that had set the separate but equal precedent. As desegregation progresses, the membership of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) grew. The KKK used violence or threats against anyone who was suspected of favoring desegregation or black civil rights. Klan terror, including intimidation and murder, was widespread in the South in the 1950s and 1960s, though Klan activities were not always reported in the media. One terrorist act that did receive national attention was the murder of Emmit Till, 14 year old black boy slain in Mississippi by whites who believed he had flirted with a white woman. The trial and acquittal of the men accuse of Till s murder were covered in the national media, demonstrating the continuing racial bigotry of Southern whites. To protest segregation, blacks created new national organizations. The laboring poor s leisure activity was brief, casual, and non commercial. Amusement was and had to be cheap. It mostly consisted of walks, visiting friends, and reading the penny press. Dancing was the greatest passion of all for the single working woman. This is where they played out their cultural style. This is also where it became easy for young men and women to interact. The dance craze gave way to dance halls, which could now be rented for large meetings, weddings, dances and other gatherings. This caused a lot of social realism in writing, which was expressed through Latin American writers. He uses an allegory between Adam, the first man to live and die, to him ending it which correlates to the end of Mexico. • 29. Apology Of Socrates Apology The Apology of Socrates is actually not an apology at all. It is a statement made by Socrates in defense of his actions in court. Socrates was accused of not believing in the gods of Athens, and teaching the children of Athens to believe in other gods. These gods were suggested to be made up by Socrates himself ( Apology, 121). Socrates put himself in the jury s shoes by questioning his own behavior before the trial. He understood that they may be dumbfounded how his reputation could spiral down so quickly. Socrates still insisted; even after empathizing with the jury, that he had gained this reputation by falling victim of wisdom. Plato continued on with his remarks calling this wisdom human wisdom . • 31. Offensive Word Essay The main issue is the use of a word that many find offensive, in a book that many consider to be one of the greatest American novels. To make the book more accessible to a greater number of people, New South Books has reprinted Huckleberry Finn changing that offensive word to slave . The argument has two sides, on one side of the argument we have the scholars who believe that removing the offensive word from the book changes the book and makes the impact of the book less significant; the other side of the argument is those who say changing the word to a less offensive word takes away the impact and importance of the book. He read a quote from the book that puts Huck Finn and Jim on the same side and not against each other based on their race. Mark Twain put the offensive word there to grab the reader s attention and every time the word it read it does just that. Others feel that the use of the word 219 times in the book is excessive and disrupts the message of anti slavery. Was Mark Twain just trying to capture the manner in which people spoke back in Huckleberry Finn s time, which is what those in favor of keeping the offensive language in the book believe? I get the sense that Byron Pitts does feel uncomfortable with the word being used, for this reason he seems to sway towards the side in favor of censoring the book. He seems to ask for more of an explanation from David Bradley than he does from Williams, this is another reason I think he leans towards the censoring of the word. It is hard for me to say which side I am on. Changing literature because people are offended by it does change the feel of a book. The same way censoring works of art changes everything about the ... • 33. Unions Are A Most Effective Way Of Protecting Worker s Rights 2. Do you agree that unions are a most effective way of protecting worker s rights? Should U.S. labor law be changed to be more in line with international labor codes? Answer: Yes, I agree that solidarity campaigns in support of workers and/or unions are an effective way of protecting worker s rights. Without the formation of unions such as the United Farm Workers founded by Chavez and Huerta in 1962, vulnerable workers would have no defense against the systemic exploitation and violations against their rights as workers and as human beings (Brubaker, 2007, p. 96). Does the idea of community supported agriculture appeal to you? What would it take to make something like this happen in your community? Answer: Yes! I love the idea of community supported agriculture for several reasons. In the first place, the goals identified, such as mutually beneficial relationships with a community of consumers, environmentally sustainable farming practices, and public education on contemporary agricultural issues makes sense to me. Also, the high quality, locally grown produce is more available and affordable, and even reduces the negative environmental impacts caused by conventional production and distribution systems. • 36. Reconstruction African American Reconstruction American Reconstruction began in 1865 at the end of the civil war. The period s main focus was to rebuild the country after war by enacting and changing many key pieces of legislature in the American government. One divisive factor that needed to be addressed was how much representation African Americans deserved in America. During the reconstruction period, African American rights were extended through various new amendments and working opportunities, however, these rights did not last long as they were undermined by black codes and sharecropping. In 1865, the American government successfully passed the thirteenth amendment: ending the institution of slavery in America. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. The thirteenth amendment opened up economic opportunity for African Americans as slaves were no longer owned by someone else. However, not long after the thirteenth amendment was passed, former slaveholders and southerners created the black codes. Black Codes were a set of laws intended to restrict African American freedoms, causing them to go into low wage labor. It haunts her father that Sindy left and he dwells on her in the most minuate ways, like keeping her clothes in the closet or her class china wear on the cabinet. Vera always wonders if its her fault for her mother leaving because her mother in Veras words never wanted her. She is also confused on what she wants to do with her life after college, does she want to become a vet or just give up her dreams completely because everyone thinks that she is just going to become a stripper just like her mother. There is no concrete right answer, or only one way to evaluate any given subject, as every aspect of personality has more than one view point or angle. Famous psychologists such as Freud, Adler, Jung, Erickson, Eysenck, and Skinner all shaped and conducted the research that would come together and be taught to generations as the foundations of personality and the theory of personality. To better understand the idea of personality, we are going to examine the six different cornerstones of personality. They consist of Nature versus Nurture, The Unconscious, You of the Self, Development, Motivation and Maturation. In this, no one theory is more valid than the other, and no one research has more validity than the other. In this paper each cornerstone will be examined using scholarly research. Foundations of Personality Nature Versus Nurture Before the concept of nature versus nurture can be broken down and examined, first there must be a proper understanding of both terms. In context of nature versus nurture, nature refers to a person s biological factors, such as the hereditary factors passed down from the genes of their birth parents. Whereas nurture refers to an individual s personal experience and environment that shapes them into who they are, and gave them a form of identity.
