I Love Peanut Butter Essay
Who doesn t love a generous spoonful of peanut butter?
We all get a delightful satisfaction in scooping out a glob of creamy peanut butter.
Sometimes it s to spread on other food items. Bananas and whole wheat bread are my favorites.
Other times, it s for your favorite dessert recipe, like 5 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies.
The most memorable moments are those when you scrape it from the jar and eat it plain. Nutty
goodness rushes to your taste buds. A satisfying earthy flavor takes over. The peanut butter sticks to
the roof of your mouth and the spoon
You just can t help yourself. It s too delicious.
And then you feel guilty. Why a Nutless nut butter?
Most peanut butters have added oil and sugar. Both add empty calories that contribute ... Show more

The second and third were complete failures. The rice, quinoa and chickpeas burned to the bottom of
my pressure cooker. Twice.
The fourth trial was an overcorrection. Too much water. Yet since this trial was edible, I could taste I
was on the right path. It had the nutty aftertaste I was looking for.
The winning trial was trial five. Creamy yet slightly chunky and salty, nutty and sweet.
My husband declared it wasn t peanut butter.
He was right; it wasn t peanut butter. However, it was healthy, low fat, nutty and addictive to eat.
I completed a sixth trial. That trial confirmed the previous version was the best.
I m sure you re ready for the recipe.
Here it is! Recipe
This nut butter alternative recipe is your new best friend. You can enjoy spoonful after spoonful of this
slightly sweet and somewhat nutty spread without feeling guilty.
Vegan and free of added sugar, oil, gluten, soy and nuts

Presidential Amendments It s the year 2018, and a new President of the United States has just been

years. In 2017, former President Donald Trump was sworn in. His presidency caused a lot of
controversy and corruption between the american people. There were riots and protests, literally most
of America hated our President. The hate for President Donald Trump got worse as time flew by,

Assessing the Significance of the Cityscape to the...
The Sign of Four is a detective novel written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, which was published in
1890. It is Conan Doyle s second novel to feature detective Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes is a
master detective, known for his deduction skills, disguises and most importantly, his use of the city as
means of solving mysteries. The cityscape plays a significant role in the narrative of The Sign of Four.
Conan Doyle uses real places found in London in The Sign of Four. It gives the novel a degree of
realism, and Holmes the detective appears genuine to the reader. He certainly knows his way through
the streets of London. At the beginning of the novel, Dr. Watson and Holmes are travelling across
London to a meeting they know very little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His biggest advantage as a detective in London is use of networking. The Baker Street Irregulars are a
group of homeless children Conan Doyle included in his Sherlock Holmes series several times. They
are Sherlock s eyes and ears on the streets of London, as he notes they can go everywhere, see
everything, overhear everyone (Conan Doyle 93) He can gather them all together with the help of their
leader Wiggins, and then inform them of what they should keep an eye out for. They can assemble
within a few hours, and are immediately ready to work. They provide unparalleled access to the
murkiest parts of London s underground. It is in The Sign of Four that Holmes notes this is just the
case where they might be invaluable (Conan Doyle 89). Holmes manages to navigate the problems
that the modern cityscape of the late 1800s throws at him, namely limited means of transport, by
spreading his eyes and ears thinly across London. While it may be helpful to the cause, Holmes
ultimately uses the Baker Street Irregulars to do his dirty work for him. This goes against the belief
that Sherlock Holmes is a detective who avoids the harming of innocent people by using his mighty
intelligence to solve crimes.
There is a sort of supremacy to be found in The Sign of Four with regards to the city. London is seen
as a greater place than anywhere else on this earth. Here they have cocaine addictions, murders,

Personal Responsibility Work And Opportunity Act Analysis
The Personal Responsibility Work and Opportunity Act was a bill that was passed into law in 1996.
This law created a new program called Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF). The changes
in the TANF program were significantly different than the Aid to Families with Dependent Children
(AFDC) program. The TANF program became a part of the national welfare reform which puts a stop
to women with children being entitled to an endless amount of cash benefits. Welfare reform was part
of President Bill Clinton and his campaign s promise to end welfare as we know it (Gilbert and Terrell
2013 p.74). The sponsor of this bill was a Republican representative for Ohio s 12th Congressional
district and his name was John Kasich (https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/104/hr3734). ... Show

Responsibility Work and Opportunity Act to become a law. The party affiliations of this act are

Implementing A Comprehensive Audit Plan Essay
Abstract
This paper will discuss the hot topics in emerging issues that was discussed in previous assignments.
Several companies can benefit from finding ways to implement a comprehensive audit plan to reduce
the likelihood of fraud occurring. Ideas associated with the SDLC and how to create phases that will
fall in line with this execution are also detailed in this assignment. The SDLC assists in reducing fraud
and cannot be applied lightly; this plan makes the process of fraud prevention and detection easier to
succumb. Updating policies and procedures is an ongoing process that cannot go unkempt.
Establishing a Comprehensive Audit Plan
The acronym SDLC is explained as a software development lifecycle. The phases of the SDLC
include analysis and definition phases, where the purpose should be determined, the goals that need to
be accomplished, and a set of definite requirements. Establishing a comprehensive audit plan is
integral in fulfilling the successful and quality financials for a business. This should be done at the
inception of creating the company as well as routinely checked on a consistent basis. This used in
accordance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act will guarantee that the company has a sure way to mitigate
the fraud opportunity that may occur during the time of day to day operations (Strayer University
2013).
A fraud detection plan will provide the blueprint for a healthy environment in the aspect of protecting
the company and its assets. The plan will give a

Melba Character Analysis
Melba Pattillo and eight other African American students became soldiers on the battlefield of equality
at a young age. When entering Central High School, Melba had to become a warrior in order to
survive the school year. She had to be a warrior to fight for what she believed in and not give up.
Melba created a warrior inside herself to rise above the pressure and scrutiny from her peers,
community, and nation. She was a warrior of civil justice and equality for the future generations of
kids who only wanted a fair chance. Melba s mother told her, there s a price to be paid for freedom;
we pay it now or we re in ball and chain forever. (Pattillo. 104) To survive the school year, Melba had
to acquire various weapons to fight against the segregationists who surrounded her. Those weapons
included her words, her diary, her presence and her faith. After Minnijean was expelled Melba s fellow
students became more vicious trying to get the others expelled also. One day Melba got eggs dumped
on her head. Later when her grandmother helped her get the egg out of her hair she told Melba, You
could take charge of these mind games, you know... Suppose you d have told the boys who did this,
Thank you, with a smile. Then you ve changed the rules of the game. What they want is for you to be
unhappy. That s how they get pleasure. (Pattillo.242) Melba takes her advice and is able to rise above
her bullies for a short time. Melba s presence within its self was a weapon. Thousands of

Essay about Sigmund Frued s Psychology
Sigmund Freud was born in 1856 in Frieber, Moravia; his father was a wool merchant and his mother
was twenty years younger than his father. Freud had two step brothers which were around the same
age as his mother; one stepbrother had a son who became Freud s playmate growing up (Sigmund).
Around the age of four, Freud and his family moved to Vienna where he stayed for a majority of his
life. (Boeree) When Freud s family moved to Vienna, they lived in an area that was highly populated
with Jews (the Leopoldstadt slum) but the city around them was majority Catholic. Their housing was
extremely cramped and they moved numerous times. Vienna had a better education system and
business opportunities than most other places around them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He died from cancer of the mouth and jaw. (Boree) Freud is the father of the Psychodynamic Model
which is the oldest and most famous of the modern psychological models (Comer, 2011, p. 37).
Psychodynamic theorists believe that people s behaviors are driven by underlying psychological
forces; these forces come from the unconscious mind (Comer, 2011, p. 37). He developed what is
known as psychoanalysis: a way to treat certain mental illnesses by exposing and discussing a patient
s unconscious thoughts and feelings (Sigmund). Freud was a heavy believer in hypnosis which he
learned most from Joseph Breuer; Breuer claimed that he successfully treated a woman by
hypnotizing her and tracing back her symptoms to the traumatic experience of her father dying
(Sigmund). Freud later dropped the idea of hypnosis and started analyzing dreams believing that many
unconscious desires could be found through dreams (Sigmund). Freud developed psychoanalysis
further by determining the most powerful unconscious force; he believed that sexual desires at an
early age were shut down by the conscious but remained heavily in the unconscious (Sigmund). He
wrote Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality which were violently protested at first but were later
accepted in to almost every school of psychology. (Sigmund) While Freud most likely suffered from
depression and anxiety, off of what was researched in this paper he will be diagnosed with something

How Mark A Book By Mortimer J. Adler
How to Mark a Book by Mortimer J. Adler. How to Mark a Book by Mortimer J. Adler is an essay
over the author s belief on the importance of marking or writing inside a book. Adler s primary
purpose is persuasive. He writes to convince the reader to partake in writing in one s own books when
reading to become more efficient. Adler s secondary purpose is expressive because of the way he
describes his least favorite type of reader: There are three kinds of book owners. The first has all the
standard sets and best sellers unread, untouched. This deluded individual owns woodpulp and ink, not
books (17 6). Adler uses a couple of patterns during his essay. The first pattern is description. He
explains that the true value of a book is in its ideas: The soul of a book can be separated from its body.
A book is more like the score of a piece of music than it is like a painting (17 8). Adler then uses a
comparison/contrast pattern to enlighten the reader about the three kinds of book owners. His least
favorite type of reader was mention earlier in the analysis. The second type of book owner has many
books but they have no written notes or markings by the owner. This owner is, compared to the next
type in Alder s eyes, still not a true book owner. The third and most desired type of book owner,
according to Alder, has: ... a few books or many every one of them dog eared and dilapidated, shaken
and loosened by continual use, marked and scribbled in from front to back.

There are many issues facing operations managers within Medic Call while ensuring they keep their
focus on customer service. These issues include, staff training this is very lengthy and costly which is
large issue they need to deal with, this interlinks with the fact they have a very high level of staff

Armistead et al (1994 p 6), states they are as follows;
1. The limited ability of the organization to alter capacity in terms of both the extent of the change and
response time to make the change while having to deal with rapid fluctuations in demand.
2. The need to deliver consistent levels of customer service.
3. The varying degrees of uncertainty in demand.
2.2 Importance of Capacity Management
There is a connection associated between, capacity management, resource productivity and quality
management which, Armistead et al (1994), argued is at the heart of the control and planning process
within operations management in the service industry.
Capacity management and all its elements including, staff, delivery systems and processes is such a
large part of any organisation it is vital to its success. For any organisation being able to manage
capacity is critical to the simple business function of providing a service to meet the demand set by
customers. (Hill et al, 2011)
3.0 Capacity Decisions
It is to be expected that more insightful capacity decisions can be made when demand can be
forecasted accurately. Nonetheless, demand can fluctuate through unpredictable factor, such as,
weather conditions. When faced with these circumstances even forecasting techniques of the highest
standard may not be sufficient enough to provide enough detailed information. (A Betts et al 2000) 3.1

Total deposits in the Islamic banking system amounted to RM47 billion (9.5 percent) compared to
RM495 billion total deposits in the entire system (Abdul Kader, 2002).
The gale of economic liberalization currently sweeping across the globe provides another reason for
looking into the efficiency of Islamic banks since it poses a further competitive challenge to the
Islamic banking institutions. It is expected that by the year 2007, trade liberalization will require
Malaysian domestic banks to compete with other global players on an equal playing field. Such a
change implies that local Islamic banking institutions will have to be efficient, innovative, competitive
and resilient players in the market. This is particularly important since foreign banks that are arguably
more efficient may also offer Islamic banking products to take advantage of brisk demand for Islamic
banking products.
The policy relevance of this study can be viewed from the target set by the Malaysian central bank
(Bank Negara Malaysia) for the Islamic banking institutions to command a 20 percent market share by
year 2010 as outlined in its financial sector master plan. How the increased competition expected in
the future affects Islamic banks partly depends on how efficient the banks

The Parthenon Essay
The ancient Greek civilization contributed many great new ideas and aspects to everyday life that
shaped and inspired the modern day society. The Greeks are well known for their construction of
temples, acropolis and other grand architectural structures. Among these structures stood one of the
most famous, the Parthenon. The Parthenon was a symbol of Greek society and culture as it stood as
one of Greece s most important architectural buildings. Besides being the Athenians greatest
architectural achievement, the Parthenon serves a basic purpose. The Parthenon is a temple devoted to
Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and guardian of the city state of Athens that got its name from
her. The temple marked the zenith of ancient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a cause of this relationship, the Parthenon plays a trick and strikes an illusion to the eye. Greek
architects Ictinus and Callicrates erected the temple atop the southern flank of the acropolis, the
central hill of the Greek city state which was used for defensive and religious purposes, then in
seventeen years, Ictinus and Callicrates completed the decorations of the Parthenon (Harper OL). The
Parthenon is made entirely of a marble from Mount Pentelicus called Pentelic marble and stands
approximately eighteen meters high. The selections made for the material of the Parthenon were
chosen with many points considered to ensure a strong and sturdy future. The Parthenon was
commissioned by Pericles sometime after Greek victories over the Persians between 490 and 480 BC
(Glancey 26, 27). During the Persian Greek wars, Athens believed that Athena watched over them and
that she helped them throughout the war. The Parthenon represents the wealth, power, society, and
culture of Athens. The building of the Parthenon cost the Athenians four hundred and sixty nine
talents, which symbolized Athens as wealthy.

Tay Sachs Disease
Tay Sachs disease is also known as: B Variant GM2 gangliosidosis, GM2 gangliosidosis type 1, Hex A
deficiency, Hexosaminidase A deficiency, Hexosaminidase alpha subunit deficiency (Variant B),
sphingolipidosis, and TSD. The main cause of Tay Sachs is a defective Hex A gene, and an absence of
a significant enzyme known as hexosaminidase. A gene on the fifteenth chromosome codes for the
generation of Hex A, and does not function properly in Tay Sachs patients. Each person has is
intended to have two Hex A genes. Based on inheritance and genetic patterns, even if one gene is
defective, the child will still be healthy. Following the inheritance pattern, if two healthy, carrier

Tay Sachs follows an autosomal recessive pattern both copies of the gene possess mutations. Warren
Tay first described it in 1881. Bernard Sachs was the first to describe cellular changes and the genetics

connection the familial connections of the disorder, noting that most babies who had Tay Sachs were
of Eastern European, Jewish descent. If symptoms and physical characteristics suggest that a child
may be suffering from Tay Sachs disease, blood tests are used to determine whether or not the child s
body is producing the necessary Hex A enzyme. DNA is extracted from the sample in an attempt to
detect mutations of the Hex A. There is no known cure for Tay Sachs disease. For treatment and to
ease the pain of/reduce some of the side effects, doctors may prescribe seizure medications. It is

Essay On Medieval Castles
Castles were built as symbols of security, wealth, power and control. But, castles weren t only for
defense against the foreign invaders; they were also served as a basic tool in preserving the king s and
noble s power over the land. This essay will be proving the hypothesis that medieval castles changed
dramatically over 400 500 years due to the development of weapons used to destroy or capture them.
Firstly, it will talk about the Motte and Bailey castle, outlining a range of problems within it and why
it eventually became redundant. Secondly, it will confer about the stone keep castle that replaced the
motte and bailey castle, the problems it outlined and why it also leveled out. Then, it will discuss
about the concentric castle that took over the stone keep castle and why they became inessential. After

Concentric castles were built in the 12th and 13th century. They were surrounded by two sets of walls
that were built at different height levels. The inner wall provided the archers a vantage point. The
symmetrical shape of the castle helped provide a superior view for the lookout men across the
neighboring country. Death hole was the name given to the space between the two walls. If
invaders/attackers broke in, they would be trapped and killed between the two walls. For additional
protection, these castles were often surrounded by a moat where as a drawbridge was used for entering
inside the castle. The Beaumaris Castle can be found in Wales. King Edward I first assigned most of
the concentric castles. Concentric castles soon became redundant, as they were very expensive to
build and required a lot of man power as well as labor resources. Siege warfare was mainly applied
when trying to take over the concentric castles. The castles would be destroyed due to the
bombardment from the ballista, the mangonel and the trebuchet. Also the wide spread use of
gunpowder ended the castles in

How Wars Always Have Disastrous Effects On Civilians
Wars always have disastrous effects on civilians, in particular on children who are growing up in a
world of violence and are surrounded by atrocities and deaths. It can be even more traumatic when
children find themselves taking an active part in conflicts. Indeed in numerous conflicts, combatants
aged under eighteen, and therefore considered as child soldiers , are involved. Although international
law expressly prohibit the recruitment and use of youths aged under fifteen, about 300,000 child
soldiers are currently taking part in hostilities, and many do not have the legal age to do so. Some are
enrolled by force, but many volunteer for various reasons. Some claim that children should not have
anything to do with political issues and wars and thus should not be prosecuted, while others claim
that all children are not purely victims and may be partly responsible for their acts. This essay argues
that because they are children, child soldiers cannot be prosecuted along with adults, and should rather
benefit of support programmes in order to enable their reintegration into the civilian society. However
this reintegration may takes years and cannot be successful until it is sure that children are no longer a
threat for the society or for themselves, and it may require that children spend time in detention
centers for minors until they are no longer a danger. The first part will focus on the different situations
that can lead children to become soldiers. I will then explain

As West Africa s first Muslim King, he ensured peace for decades. He was loved by many, not only

times where he did not act as a King.
The Mansa was also the first ruler to travel over four thousand to the city of Mecca. On this

Rhetorical Analysis Pearl Harbor Speech
Rhetorical Analysis of President Roosevelt s Pearl Harbor Speech
Yesterday, December 7th, 1941 began President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the day following Japan s
fateful attack on Pearl Harbor, resulting in the in the tragic loss of nearly two and a half thousand
American lives. A date so famously proclaimed to forever live in infamy, and so it has. This inspiring
speech to Congress and the American people employed appeals and other techniques in it s mission to
touch America s heart, both with sympathy and indignation. President Roosevelt s use of rhetoric is
extremely effective in rallying the American people to the cause of entering a war so many were
reluctant to support.
By December of 1941, the second World War had been raging across Europe for more than two years
and the United States was already, but not officially, involved. Deteriorating conditions in Europe and
continual advancement of Nazi victory across nations was certainly cause for global concern, though
many Americans were still clinging to anti war neutrality. However, America had already proved to be
less than neutral, aiding Great Britain with weapons and the lend lease act, clearly siding with the
Allied powers. But official involvement without support of public opinion was rather tricky. So you
could say that, for many European nations, this tragedy might have been cause for celebration, as it
was bringing the battle right to America s back doorstep, and could no longer be ignored. With an
overwhelming public majority opposed to involvement in European conflict, it should have come as
no surprise that Roosevelt would use this as an opportunity to rally Americans in a war against Japan,
and ultimately Germany and the other Axis powers.
As not only President but Commander in Chief, Roosevelt had an obvious ethical appeal to the general
public, and his advice concerning war involvement and interpretation of this event will forever depict
most American s view of the attack. Seeing as ethics aren t in question here, it was not necessary for
Roosevelt to spend much time proving himself trustworthy. However, he does show strength and
courage in the midst of in a time of fear and dismay. He also plays on the values of Americans by

Explain Why Gay And Lesbian Parents Should Have A Home
Do you think that every child in an orphanage or the foster system should have a home? Is it fair to

raised by gay or lesbian parents be effected when they are older? These are a few important questions
concerning same sex couples who are looking to adopt. Answering the first question, yes I think every
child deserves to have a home, and I think that most people would agree. The answer to the second
question, Is it fair to deprive kids of a home because their parents would be gay or lesbian? is no it is
not fair at all, and the answer to the last question is we cannot be sure because every child is different,

The rate of straight couples getting a divorce is at two percent, but the rate for lesbian couples is 1.6
percent and the rate for gay couples is even lower at 1.1 percent. This is good because that means that
a child who is adopted by a gay or lesbian couple is probably going to have a more emotionally secure
home, and their parents will probably stay together. Another reason that Gay and Lesbian couples
should be allowed to adopt is because there aren t many people willing to adopt children, so any good
people no matter what their sexuality is should be allowed to adopt. These children could go into the
foster system, but adopting is much better, and it can be safer. Same sex couples have to plan to want
children, instead of accidentally having them. This means that because they cannot naturally have their

Analysis Of A True Hero In Candide By Volitare
It seems that any person who carries some sort of characteristic of a hero goes through varies trails in
life. Whether if those trails are driving a man or women into something greater or realizing that they
themselves are less than anyone else. A man or a women that tends to lean on situation in life can
show themselves to be a hero because it shows their inner being and true self. When life throws
hardships and circumstance in their own life, a person who sees themselves as a hero are more aware
that tribulations in life can define how much it takes to be devoted, committed, and humble. Heroes
are mostly told in any sort of writing with a drastic journey or an ordinary story. Many people have
many definitions or aspects of what a hero is to them and discover their true identity. Although, a hero
can be an extreme character to most people, it brings many different appearances on what a true hero
is like. In the novel Candide by Volitare, the author demonstrates the main character s identity of being
a hero by going through a journey of finding his love Cunegonde. Throughout the novel Candide, the
main character, has discover himself on a journey that defines what some characteristics of a hero are.
Because there are many views of what a hero is supposed to be, the importance of noticing the novel s
idea on what a hero is shows that there is no limit of being a hero. To begin with, Candide can be
described in many ways by any person who has read the novel. However the author brought out
details of Candide s actions or motives on what life brings him. Whether if he was losing his friends or
a natural disaster occur, different aspects are displayed through his responses. Being a hero can be
described through its actions and motives by laying out the foundation on what their mindset is on. As
for Candide, his mindset was always on his lover Cunegonde and his goal was to be reunited with her.
Through his actions and behavior brings out the idea of what the novel captures the message. That the
message shows the manner on having no limit or boundaries in acting as a hero. For instance, doing
something out of the ordinary or unexpected in which it leads to a good purpose, can support the idea

Ethics Of The Mentally Ill
The topic of ethics for the care of the mentally ill has become widely debated in the UK. Recent
statistics show a 5% increase 2013 14 vs. 2012 13 in the detentions under the Mental Health Act, a
30% increase from 2002 2003 (October 2014, Health and Social Care Information Centre,
http://www.hscic.gov.uk/5164). The increase places tremendous pressure on the National Health
Service (NHS) to balance the best possible care, with resource. There are a number complexities that
arise to strike the balance in risk and rights, when faced with challenging behaviour of the mentally ill.
The NHS places the respect of all patients values first. This includes an individual s cultural view,
dignity, privacy and independence (NHS Patient Experience Framework www.institute.nhs.uk). This
essay examines ethics in healthcare focusing on physical restraint. In order to create an analytical view
on this subject, the 1998 death of David Bennett a 38 year old, Rastafarian African Caribbean, has
been cited.
Mental illness can change a persons capacity to make rational and safe decisions, often creating a
contradiction in actions to their core ethics and beliefs (Mind, Mental health crisis care: physical

Wu Zhao and the Tang Empire
Rothschild, N. Harry. 2008. Wu Zhao: China s Only Woman Emperor. New York: Pearson Longman
Historical, political and social background: Wu Zhao belonged to the Tang Empire, which according
to the author which ...was a true empire, encompassing many lands, many peoples, and many
ideologies. Multi ethnic and cosmopolitan, Tang China was perfectly suited for the ascent of a
historical anomaly like Wu Zhao... (Rothschild, 2008, p. 11) In a sense, there was a conflict of
traditional Confucian values which promoted a patriarchal society and the liberal Steppe culture which
gave women more freedom and rights. China at that time was a cocktail of these cultures which led to
a significant impact on the lifestyle and values of peoples in that era. Women were bold and tough,
and unlike earlier societies, were no longer confined socially and sexually (Rothschild, 2008, p. 12).
While did not exist a perfect equality between men and women, women of that era were allowed to
live without hiding under the dominance of the male Yang. As the author talks of the Silk Road, it is
mentioned that, ...In this free wheeling milieu, women donned men s attire and rode horses...
(Rothschild, 2008, p. 15) .This cosmopolitan (Rothschild, 2008, p. 16) society was the foundation for
the Tang Empire. Another important factor was the prevalence of Buddhism as a religion of the
masses. Buddhism, in itself, helped united much of Asia, and was a common platform for men and

Climate Change Is Caused By Human Activities
According to the new Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
(IPCC) 2013, in Southeast Asia, temperature has been increasing at a rate of 0.14 to 0.20 degree
Celsius per decade since the 1960s while rainfall from extreme rain days has increased by 10
millimeters per decade. Both of these increments are caused by climate change. In addition to increase
of temperature and extreme precipitations, climate change also increases landslides, exacerbates soil
erosion, causes flooding, and raises the sea level (Barnett et al. 2007). Previously, climate change was
believed to happen naturally. However, over the years, scientists have started to argue that
anthropogenic factors are the main contributor. Scientists have also been more confident and forthright
in informing the public that climate change is caused by human activities. The IPCC Fifth Assessment
Report mentions that human influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic
emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history (2013). In addition, most of the observed
increase in global average temperatures since the mid 20th century is very likely due to the observed
increase in anthropogenic Green House Gas (GHG) concentrations (IPCC AR4 2007). In fact, there
are many other anthropogenic impacts that cause climate change. In this paper, I will discuss the
impacts of climate change on wetlands, forest fires and tropical cyclones in Southeast Asia, and the

An extension of this approach is in network aggregation which aggregates data progressively as it is
passed through a network. In network data aggregation can reduce the data packet size, the number of
data transmissions and the number of nodes involved in gathering data from a WSN. Therefore, in the
field of WSNs, privacy preserving data aggregation is becoming a hot issue in WSNs. To address this
issue, some protocols have been proposed. In this, they provide a comprehensive summary and
comparison of the existing privacy preserving data aggregation protocols for WSNs. WSN is related to
privacy preserving data aggregation protocols (Ping et al 2012). In the authors reviewed privacy
preserving techniques for protecting two types of private information: data oriented and context
oriented privacy. First, authors focuses only on data privacy in order to provide detailed overviews of
the existing privacy preserving data aggregation protocols for WSNs (Ping et al 2012). Two main
security challenges in secure data aggregation are confidentiality and integrity of data (Sugandhi et al
2013). While traditionally encryption is used to provide end to end confidentiality in Wireless Sensor
Network (WSN), the aggregators in a secure data aggregation scenario need to decrypt the encrypted
data to perform aggregation. Thus, while data aggregation improves energy efficiency of a network, it
complicates the existing

Symbols in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald Essay
The Great Gatsby is one of the most read pieces of literature throughout the current modern Western
world. High school kids all across the globe must learn and read it as part of their curriculum. One of
the aspects that makes this novel so notable is that Fitzgerald, at no point in the story, needs to convey
to his audience the theme of his novel directly. The main points of his novel are brought out by the
powerful symbols he infuses in the book. Not only does he use them to convey his theme, but also ties
them in to the rest of the story. Every aspect of this book is affected by the presence of one of his
symbols. Through the use of the green light, the eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg, and the Valley of the

Foremost, however, this light greatly influences the characterization of Gatsby. In Chapter 1, when

though, and knowing what it is he is reaching for, the reader can deduce much about Gatsby s
character from this action. By reaching out for his dream, Gatsby shows his determination to win
Daisy back; this solitary motion demonstrates his level of commitment to her. After realizing this, the
reader can also begin to associate more of Gatsby s actions, such as his gain of wealth, with the
American dream because it is understood that the quest for Daisy is closely tied in with this theme
(21). After this event with Gatsby, Fitzgerald chooses to focus on another peculiar object, Doctor T.J.
Eckleburg s eyes. It is this unusual amount of attention given to such a solitary entity that alerts the
reader that a deeper meaning may exist than what the author expresses. Another major symbol in this
novel is the eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg. These are a pair of spectacles painted on an old billboard

space, providing yet another positive aspect for the Men s Health promoters to focus on.
Consequently, the mid 1990s reflected a point when the men s health and lifestyle market was
untapped and also underdeveloped. However, the Men s Health publishers were not sure of the way
forward and the best method to use that would ensure the sustainable capture of the market. In
addition, the size, spending power and demographics of the men s, health and lifestyle magazine
market were a virtual unknown, making the launch particularly sensitive and critical. In light of this
and in order to test the market the first four issues of Men s Health were published on a bi monthly
basis. The launch of the publication exceeded all expectations on the part of the publishers and sold

The Transportation Security Administration
Ever since September 11th, 2001 airport security efforts have been under the microscope. Rightfully
so, because that day changed a lot on how people viewed safety in terms of flying. On that day, nearly
3,000 people were killed in a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania, and
Virginia. It s long been said that flying is the safest transportation mode amongst the varying models
there are. According to www.journalistsresource.org, from 2000 2009 the average annual death of
aviation fatalities was 548, compared to 26, 678 in regards to cars and light trucks. A person who was
in a motor vehicle for 30 miles every day for a year faced a fatality risk of about 1 in 12,500. Relative
to mainline trains, buses and commercial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From long wait times, missed flights, and even profiling of certain passengers as well. American
spokesman Ross Feinsten stated that, The lines at TSA checkpoints nationwide have become

of the issues seem to happen at the major ports throughout the United States. During spring break
2016, nearly 6,800 American passengers missed flights because of checkpoint delays, with the worst
cases occurring in Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Dallas and Philadelphia. The TSA has been put in a
tough spot and trying to find the right balance, because of the mission and vision of protecting our

Understanding And Importance Of Following Orders
The purpose of this counselled essay is to explain my understanding and importance of following
orders. This essay will have several sections to explain different areas where following orders effects. .
I will cover the significance of following orders within the unit, prominence of following order within
the artillery world, results of failure to follow orders, and how following orders will help me in the
future. The importance of these procedures created by my superiors are apparent in a soldier s daily
life. Following Orders within the Unit To start this essay off I want to begin with the oath I took at the
beginning of my career. Considering this oath would be a revolving point in my paper I need to have it
as a basis. I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United
States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;
and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers
appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. To follow
orders within the unit promotes morale, Esprit de corps, the completion of tasks and details that
promote the benefit of the unit as a whole, and transition of communication in the unit. When orders
are not being followed, it creates a doubt within the mind of not only the Noncommissioned Officer,
but the other core leaders of the soldier. The soldier himself or

Adults beyond the age of 18 years will be considered eligible for the study and will be required to sign
a consent for once informed of the impending study, which will however not interfere with their
earlier developed care plans (LoBiondo Wood Haber, 2014). As a matter of precaution, all patients
with Type 2 diabetes and gout will be excluded as study participants (Corbett, 2012).
What is a reasonable timeline for your project?
The timeline for this project is around six months. The final goal is designing a new educational
training manual related to chronic wound management for nurses in the home health care agency.
What expenses should be considered? Include both obvious expenses, such as materials, as well as
those that are hidden, such as time, which equates to part of your salary.
The material used during this project was provided by the administrator of the home health care
agency, and her collaboration was essential in the development of the project. Also she donated some
material to elaborate the survey, brochures, the pre test and

Mystery Powder Experiment
Starting our hypothesis was that it was cornstarch, according to all of the data we collected in table
2(example at bottom of page). When we just looked at the substance it had a powder like appearance
with no real specific way of being arranged. Then we started with each test of the powder first the
simple close up look test using the microscope this showed us basically what we had seen with our
eyes in a little more detail from this we found that it was what we had seen a powder like substance
with no real arrangement but the only difference was two crystals within the powder. Next we moved
on to the more complex test like the vinegar test in this test when the vinegar was mixed with the
substance it did not really mix at all the vinegar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Immediately we count off baking soda, salt, and sugar because in the first test with the microscope,
they show all crystal arrangements unlike the powder in our mystery. Then we go on to count off the
plaster of Paris because in the vinegar test, it does the opposite of our mystery powder, it mixed with
the vinegar while our powder sat on top and started to harden. At this point we are down to flour and
corn starch these two show the same results in the iodine test the both turn into a thick black gel.
Continuing on to the heat test they show generally the same, but the flour starts to smoke unlike the
corn starch just turning brown after a while, but this is still a pretty close difference between the two
so then we go back to the vinegar test where the corn starch sat on top and hardened the flour just sat
on top of the vinegar so now this is two differences we have found comparing the flour to our mystery
powder. In the end the one that had all the same results as the mystery powder was the corn starch this
proves our hypothesis to be correct but there should be more to our hypothesis because the crystals
found in the substance therefore it must have one of the crystal substances in it also such as baking
soda, salt, sugar or plaster of

Halloween Party Themes
Halloween parties are meant to fun and fantastical, but coming up with a new theme can be difficult.
Everyone has been to that old party with fake cobwebs draped over furniture and dry ice in the punch,
but Halloween is the best excuse to be as creative and outlandish as possible. Here are a few
Halloween party themes that celebrate the night devoted to ghosts and goblins just right!
Ghoulish Wedding
Serve up a spooky wedding banquet in the same fashion as a regular wedding, only the bride and
groom (host and hostess) are the living dead. Encourage guests to wear their best tattered formal wear
and arrange a wedding party performance of Thriller.

machine for a special touch of realism among the general weirdness of the party.

serve finger foods, and have ghosts tell ghost stories.

Personal Identity, Ethics, Relation, And Rationality
Parfit

Derik Parfit is a philosopher from Britain who concentrates on issues of personal identity, ethics,
relation and rationality. Parfit is of the argument that unless questions about identity are dealt with
then it is not possible to tackle specific crucial questions like memory, responsibility and matters as
survival. Personal identity is important as it helps in addressing certain vital questions. According to
Parfit, survival does not require maintaining or preserving of identity but it is a common relation that
needs pursuing apart from identity and the relation consider are those that deals with intentions and
memory. Parfit argues that survival is a matter of degree unlike identity. In his argument he aimed at
differentiating between identity and matters of survival. As for survival, whereby in his view it is
possible for a person to survive as two, the original person s relation to that of each of resulting people
is of great concern as it creates a sense in which a single person can survive as two. He assumes that if
one s brain is divided into two and planted into new bodies; both resulting persons will possess the
original person s character and memories of his life. On the other hand, as for identity it is a one one
(is all or nothing) relation but matters in survival need not be one one.
The most important feature that helps us treat survival as a matter of degree is the fact at admits for a

Mission Command Structure
Outside of the command structure, some organizations we can expect to deal with are Doctors without
Borders, the UN, Red Cross, UNICEF, World Food Programme. To extend influence beyond the chain
of command to some of these organizations, we should conduct periodic meetings with representatives
from these organizations to synchronize and coordinate efforts. Sending an LNO to the organizations
to keep a two flow of communication and information will help us gain situational understanding, as
well as these organizational aims. In turn, we can shape some of our own operations and efforts. We
can also expect to interact with local police and governance. More frequent meetings would be needed
with these groups, as it ties into our core mission of wide are security and delivering humanitarian aid.
Once on ground, we need to establish core ground rules with these two groups in order to facilitate the

These areas are important, as they feed into the commander s ability to make decisions and solve the
problem at hand. Once briefed on the OE, and having met with local and organizational leaders, the
commander probably has a set idea of how they want the operation to unfold, and in the spirit of
mission command, will have a clear intent on how to proceed. This leads to the second part:
constraints/limitations/specified actions, as these specified limitations will shape the COA developed
by the staff. Finally, the commander needs to retain their situational awareness, and by generating
CCIRs, the commander can essentially force the staff to have the same situational awareness, thus
generating a shared understanding. The CCIRs will also feed into the commander s decision making
process as a situation develops and may need to adjust the plan IOT achieve the same intent and end

connotations of the word; great coolness and composure under strain; fashionable and attractive at the
time; often skilled or socially adept, serenely self possessed and free from agitation especially in times
of stress. I believe that great coolness and composure under strain applies most directly to hook s
meaning. Because, he defined the ability of black male cool to withstand the heat and remain centered.

It is Conan Doyle s second novel to feature detective Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes is a master detective, known for his deduction skills, disguises and most importantly, his use of the city as means of solving mysteries. The cityscape plays a significant role in the narrative of The Sign of Four. Conan Doyle uses real places found in London in The Sign of Four. They can assemble within a few hours, and are immediately ready to work. They provide unparalleled access to the murkiest parts of London s underground. It is in The Sign of Four that Holmes notes this is just the case where they might be invaluable (Conan Doyle 89). Holmes manages to navigate the problems that the modern cityscape of the late 1800s throws at him, namely limited means of transport, by spreading his eyes and ears thinly across London. (Boree) Freud is the father of the Psychodynamic Model which is the oldest and most famous of the modern psychological models (Comer, 2011, p. 37). Psychodynamic theorists believe that people s behaviors are driven by underlying psychological forces; these forces come from the unconscious mind (Comer, 2011, p. 37). He developed what is known as psychoanalysis: a way to treat certain mental illnesses by exposing and discussing a patient s unconscious thoughts and feelings (Sigmund). Freud was a heavy believer in hypnosis which he learned most from Joseph Breuer; Breuer claimed that he successfully treated a woman by hypnotizing her and tracing back her symptoms to the traumatic experience of her father dying (Sigmund). Freud later dropped the idea of hypnosis and started analyzing dreams believing that many unconscious desires could be found through dreams (Sigmund). Freud developed psychoanalysis further by determining the most powerful unconscious force; he believed that sexual desires at an early age were shut down by the conscious but remained heavily in the unconscious (Sigmund). He wrote Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality which were violently protested at first but were later accepted in to almost every school of psychology. • 12. How Mark A Book By Mortimer J. Adler How to Mark a Book by Mortimer J. Adler. How to Mark a Book by Mortimer J. Adler is an essay over the author s belief on the importance of marking or writing inside a book. Adler s primary purpose is persuasive. He writes to convince the reader to partake in writing in one s own books when reading to become more efficient. Adler s secondary purpose is expressive because of the way he describes his least favorite type of reader: There are three kinds of book owners. The first has all the standard sets and best sellers unread, untouched. This deluded individual owns woodpulp and ink, not books (17 6). Adler uses a couple of patterns during his essay. The first pattern is description. He explains that the true value of a book is in its ideas: The soul of a book can be separated from its body. A book is more like the score of a piece of music than it is like a painting (17 8). Adler then uses a comparison/contrast pattern to enlighten the reader about the three kinds of book owners. His least favorite type of reader was mention earlier in the analysis. The second type of book owner has many books but they have no written notes or markings by the owner. This owner is, compared to the next type in Alder s eyes, still not a true book owner. The third and most desired type of book owner, according to Alder, has: ... a few books or many every one of them dog eared and dilapidated, shaken and loosened by continual use, marked and scribbled in from front to back. ... It is expected that by the year 2007, trade liberalization will require Malaysian domestic banks to compete with other global players on an equal playing field. Such a change implies that local Islamic banking institutions will have to be efficient, innovative, competitive and resilient players in the market. This is particularly important since foreign banks that are arguably more efficient may also offer Islamic banking products to take advantage of brisk demand for Islamic banking products. Concentric castles were built in the 12th and 13th century. They were surrounded by two sets of walls that were built at different height levels. The inner wall provided the archers a vantage point. The symmetrical shape of the castle helped provide a superior view for the lookout men across the neighboring country. Death hole was the name given to the space between the two walls. If invaders/attackers broke in, they would be trapped and killed between the two walls. For additional protection, these castles were often surrounded by a moat where as a drawbridge was used for entering inside the castle. The Beaumaris Castle can be found in Wales. King Edward I first assigned most of the concentric castles. Concentric castles soon became redundant, as they were very expensive to build and required a lot of man power as well as labor resources. Siege warfare was mainly applied when trying to take over the concentric castles. The castles would be destroyed due to the bombardment from the ballista, the mangonel and the trebuchet. How Wars Always Have Disastrous Effects On Civilians Wars always have disastrous effects on civilians, in particular on children who are growing up in a world of violence and are surrounded by atrocities and deaths. It can be even more traumatic when children find themselves taking an active part in conflicts. Indeed in numerous conflicts, combatants aged under eighteen, and therefore considered as child soldiers , are involved. Although international law expressly prohibit the recruitment and use of youths aged under fifteen, about 300,000 child soldiers are currently taking part in hostilities, and many do not have the legal age to do so. Some are enrolled by force, but many volunteer for various reasons. Some claim that children should not have anything to do with political issues and wars and thus should not be prosecuted, while others claim that all children are not purely victims and may be partly responsible for their acts. This essay argues that because they are children, child soldiers cannot be prosecuted along with adults, and should rather benefit of support programmes in order to enable their reintegration into the civilian society. However this reintegration may takes years and cannot be successful until it is sure that children are no longer a threat for the society or for themselves, and it may require that children spend time in detention centers for minors until they are no longer a danger. The first part will focus on the different situations that can lead children to become soldiers. I will then explain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rhetorical Analysis Pearl Harbor Speech Rhetorical Analysis of President Roosevelt s Pearl Harbor Speech Yesterday, December 7th, 1941 began President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the day following Japan s fateful attack on Pearl Harbor, resulting in the in the tragic loss of nearly two and a half thousand American lives. A date so famously proclaimed to forever live in infamy, and so it has. This inspiring speech to Congress and the American people employed appeals and other techniques in it s mission to touch America s heart, both with sympathy and indignation. President Roosevelt s use of rhetoric is extremely effective in rallying the American people to the cause of entering a war so many were reluctant to support. By December of 1941, the second World War had been raging across Europe for more than two years and the United States was already, but not officially, involved. Deteriorating conditions in Europe and continual advancement of Nazi victory across nations was certainly cause for global concern, though many Americans were still clinging to anti war neutrality. However, America had already proved to be less than neutral, aiding Great Britain with weapons and the lend lease act, clearly siding with the Allied powers. But official involvement without support of public opinion was rather tricky. So you could say that, for many European nations, this tragedy might have been cause for celebration, as it was bringing the battle right to America s back doorstep, and could no longer be ignored. With an overwhelming public majority opposed to involvement in European conflict, it should have come as no surprise that Roosevelt would use this as an opportunity to rally Americans in a war against Japan, and ultimately Germany and the other Axis powers. As not only President but Commander in Chief, Roosevelt had an obvious ethical appeal to the general public, and his advice concerning war involvement and interpretation of this event will forever depict most American s view of the attack. Seeing as ethics aren t in question here, it was not necessary for Roosevelt to spend much time proving himself trustworthy. However, he does show strength and courage in the midst of in a time of fear and dismay. He also plays on the values of Americans by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Climate Change Is Caused By Human Activities According to the new Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2013, in Southeast Asia, temperature has been increasing at a rate of 0.14 to 0.20 degree Celsius per decade since the 1960s while rainfall from extreme rain days has increased by 10 millimeters per decade. Both of these increments are caused by climate change. In addition to increase of temperature and extreme precipitations, climate change also increases landslides, exacerbates soil erosion, causes flooding, and raises the sea level (Barnett et al. 2007). Previously, climate change was believed to happen naturally. However, over the years, scientists have started to argue that anthropogenic factors are the main contributor. Scientists have also been more confident and forthright in informing the public that climate change is caused by human activities. The IPCC Fifth Assessment Report mentions that human influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history (2013). • 43. Mystery Powder Experiment Starting our hypothesis was that it was cornstarch, according to all of the data we collected in table 2(example at bottom of page). When we just looked at the substance it had a powder like appearance with no real specific way of being arranged. Then we started with each test of the powder first the simple close up look test using the microscope this showed us basically what we had seen with our eyes in a little more detail from this we found that it was what we had seen a powder like substance with no real arrangement but the only difference was two crystals within the powder. Next we moved on to the more complex test like the vinegar test in this test when the vinegar was mixed with the substance it did not really mix at all the vinegar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Immediately we count off baking soda, salt, and sugar because in the first test with the microscope, they show all crystal arrangements unlike the powder in our mystery. Then we go on to count off the plaster of Paris because in the vinegar test, it does the opposite of our mystery powder, it mixed with the vinegar while our powder sat on top and started to harden. At this point we are down to flour and corn starch these two show the same results in the iodine test the both turn into a thick black gel. Continuing on to the heat test they show generally the same, but the flour starts to smoke unlike the corn starch just turning brown after a while, but this is still a pretty close difference between the two so then we go back to the vinegar test where the corn starch sat on top and hardened the flour just sat on top of the vinegar so now this is two differences we have found comparing the flour to our mystery powder. In the end the one that had all the same results as the mystery powder was the corn starch this proves our hypothesis to be correct but there should be more to our hypothesis because the crystals found in the substance therefore it must have one of the crystal substances in it also such as baking soda, salt, sugar or plaster of ... Personal Identity, Ethics, Relation, And Rationality Parfit Student Name University Affiliation Course Code Derik Parfit is a philosopher from Britain who concentrates on issues of personal identity, ethics, relation and rationality. Parfit is of the argument that unless questions about identity are dealt with then it is not possible to tackle specific crucial questions like memory, responsibility and matters as survival. Personal identity is important as it helps in addressing certain vital questions. According to Parfit, survival does not require maintaining or preserving of identity but it is a common relation that needs pursuing apart from identity and the relation consider are those that deals with intentions and memory. Parfit argues that survival is a matter of degree unlike identity. In his argument he aimed at differentiating between identity and matters of survival. As for survival, whereby in his view it is possible for a person to survive as two, the original person s relation to that of each of resulting people is of great concern as it creates a sense in which a single person can survive as two. He assumes that if one s brain is divided into two and planted into new bodies; both resulting persons will possess the original person s character and memories of his life. On the other hand, as for identity it is a one one (is all or nothing) relation but matters in survival need not be one one. Sending an LNO to the organizations to keep a two flow of communication and information will help us gain situational understanding, as well as these organizational aims. In turn, we can shape some of our own operations and efforts. We can also expect to interact with local police and governance. These areas are important, as they feed into the commander s ability to make decisions and solve the problem at hand. Once briefed on the OE, and having met with local and organizational leaders, the commander probably has a set idea of how they want the operation to unfold, and in the spirit of mission command, will have a clear intent on how to proceed. This leads to the second part: constraints/limitations/specified actions, as these specified limitations will shape the COA developed by the staff. Finally, the commander needs to retain their situational awareness, and by generating CCIRs, the commander can essentially force the staff to have the same situational awareness, thus generating a shared understanding.
