HISTORY
 The name 'Zigbee' refers to the abnormal (zigzagging) movement of honey
bees after their return to beehive
 Zigbee was suggested in 1998 and Standardized in 2003 and Revised in
2006
 Proposed by 'Zigbee Alliance'

What Zigbee is?
 Zigbee is based on IEEE 802.15 standards
 Zigbee is a Global wireless sensing and control network. which have been
focusing on simple and Monitoring devices.
 It provides sense and control with Interoperability
 Zigbee protocols are aimed for embedded applications requiring low data
rate and low power consumption

What Zigbee does?
 This allows Zigbee networks to be formed ad-hoc, with no centralized
control or high-power transmitter/receiver able to reach all of the devices.
 Zigbee was aimed to develop a so-called wireless personal area network
like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi which are already exists. Like other wireless
networks, it varies by some parameters.

Zigbee Topology 6
 Zigbee Topology manipulates with the help of ‘Mesh Topology’.
 But why Mesh Topology?
 According to the Mesh Topology, It can clearly Interconnects with 65,000 nodes
 Center node acts as PAN Coordinator while the rest of the nodes/sensors acts as an
Reduced Functional devices / receivers.

 Virtual Home is a software construct which was developed in C. It aims on
secure and reliable communications
 All devices in the Zigbee networks are incorporated with Zigbee
Microcontroller and AES Co-processor.
 Where it is used to control Lighting , Heating, Cooling and Security.
 Three types of sensors plays a key role for Monitoring purpose just by using our
Smart phones, PC’s and Tabs. Which are,
