Education Is An Important Part Of Life
Education is an important part of life even for people who are already educated, but education never
ends. As a matter of fact, intelligence is constantly increasing, so educated people should not waste
such educations with unnecessary leisure activities like watching television when a person can
continually improve his or her education. In today s culture, an educated person should spend more
time reading than watching television because reading builds the reader s vocabulary and reinforces
the prior knowledge of particular terminology, but watching television requires no active thinking.
Challenging the mind is one of the greatest ways to improve it, so reading at higher levels, regardless
of age or education status, will build the vocabulary of a reader, thus making the reader a more
knowledgeable person. When a reader stumbles across an unfamiliar word in a sentence, he or she
may use context clues to figure out the meaning of the word, or this person could simply look up the
word in a dictionary or similar source. Seeing unfamiliar words challenges a reader s mind because
each word is introduced multiple times in order to define it: once when reading the sentence the first
time, twice after reading it the second time, three times in order to look up the word, and four times
when the reader uses the word s definition in place of the term in the sentence. These re introductions
build a reader s vocabulary which is important because having a stronger vocabulary allows a

A Study On Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
Background Information:
The study took place in north Europe Scandinavian countries such as Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
The local paediatrician from Norway and Sweden and the forensic institution of Denmark invited
parents of sudden infant death syndromes (SIDS) to take part in the study. Sudden infant death
syndrome is the sudden, unexpected and unexplained death of an apparently healthy baby.
There were several aims behind the study. The main aim of the study was to overlook whether
smoking was a cause of risk for sudden infant death syndrome and whether the consequence is owed
to maternal smoking during the pregnancy or to inhaling smoke from other people s cigarettes also
called passive smoking. Likewise, they wanted to observe if the influence of smoking cessation played
a big role in SIDS. They also wanted to research whether the risk before and after the birth on SIDS in
children are different of smoking and non smoking mothers. And lastly, the results of different
smoking habits in the Scandinavian countries were investigated and analysed.
The principal objective in this case control study is to provide a valid and reasonably good estimate
answer to the unexplained deaths. In practice, this objective is usually supplemented by several others.
A typical objective would be to link the disadvantages of smoking and health risks to the unborn baby
and any other dangers smoking could provoke.
The study design:
The study type they used is a case control study. A

Gerald Celente s Tragic End Of The Twentieth Century
Looking back, it s somewhat funny to think that people actually believed Y2K was for real and the
world, as they knew it, would come to an abrupt end. Throughout his essay, Gerald Celente illustrates
how he believes the new millennium will pan out for society. For the most part, Celente does hit the
hammer on the nail with many of his predictions of the coming millennium; however, he does treat it
like all the bad from the 20th century will immediately disappear and all will be well in the new
millennium. Unfortunately, because of the horrific war, unpredictable economic struggles, and
increasing racial tensions in our society, one cannot say that all the evil has vanished completely. Apart
from all the negatives, Celente does describe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously since the junk food is cheaper then more people will buy the junk food over healthy food
simply because healthy food is too expensive. We can see this is true because according to a CDC
statistic, some of the poorest states in America are also the fattest because people who live in poverty
simply can t afford healthy food. One thing I admire about what Celente described in this essay is that
he wants health to be more of a priority in future American society and I couldn t agree more, and
organizations like Feeding America, Fight Hunger, and the United Nations World Food Programme
are not only working to help fight hunger issues around the world, but also making sure that no child

Suicide Among Young Rural Women
Suicide is a universal phenomenon that has deep and extensive implications for the overall wellbeing
of a community. Not only is suicide a tragic personal and societal loss, but suicide rates can also serve
as an index of underlying societal problems, such as sources of oppression and lack of social support.
Exhibiting several interesting suicide trends, China is a country that provides ample opportunity for
investigating the problem of suicide and its causes. There are observed Western patterns of urban,
male, and mentally ill populations being at greater risk for suicide trends that are challenged by the
reversed patterns of suicide in China, where youth, female gender, and rural residence are a potentially
lethal combination .1 The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, in Western societies, suicide is 3 times more prevalent in urban than in rural areas2, 3 5
times more prevalent in males than in females when measured through completion rates (though
attempt rates are higher among females)3, and 9 times more often associated with mental illness than
not.1 The explanations for these trends draw on psychological and sociological theories: it has been
hypothesized that men are more likely than women to use lethal means of attempting suicide, and that
the economic hardship, unemployment, and social disintegration that afflict city life make suicide a
greater problem in urban than in rural areas.4 In China, however, the trends regarding gender, urban
status, and mental health are surprisingly reversed: rural suicides outnumber urban suicides by a 3:1
ratio, female suicides outnumber male suicides by a 3:1 ratio, and as few as 40% of suicides are
accompanied by mental illness.5
The Western perspective is accustomed to viewing suicide as intrinsically linked to mental health
conditions such as depression, and thus often examines suicide by considering individual
psychological factors. However, the unique patterns of suicide seen in China require an examination
of suicide not only from a mental health perspective, but also from an anthropological perspective that
is sensitive to social stressors, not just

Essay On Gas Sensor Technology
Gas sensor technology is very appreciating in industries and defense since it possesses high sensitivity
in gas detection. The most important challenges in transportable devices are sensitivity, selectivity,
durability and low power consumption. To solve the selectivity problems, GBISs have been
introduced. These latter are able to identify unknown gas ionization breakdown voltage. To reduce the
breakdown voltage CNT GBISs are employed [6] [12] while others studies used MWCNT with a
reduction of 100 450V.Nevertheless, these CNT GBISs are exposed to corona discharges which lead
to heat generation and may affect the gas ionization breakdown. For uniform fields, the breakdown
characteristics are explained by Townsend s criteria (equ 1) [1]. ... Show more content on

Thus the objective of this paper is to overcome this limitation by providing a simple and low cost
fabrication. Nonorganic species ionization feature is also required.
Freestanding nanowire arrays are good field ionization sources since they present high aspect ratio and
density. The template assisted electromechanical method is an easy and costless technique but presents
limitations as the incorporated nanowires arrays bundle or collapse during template removal. To
prevent this a PAA growth AuNWs were vertically aligned and embedded at a miniature cylindrical
cell with a flat cathode. A number of tests gases have been used to perform the field ionization s tests
with deviating low ionization threshold voltages (Vi) as results.

Fig. 1(b) shows the electron tunneling into the valence band with an increase of the effective work
function, and the expression of the critical distance changes as shown by equation (3). The critical
distance now depends on the amount of band bending whose expression is shown by equation (4).
Even with zero fields, authors [19],[24] [27] have demonstrated that impurities and dangling bonds
may impact the band bending potential. With an applied field reduction of the band, bending is
observed with a tunneling above the Fermi level even with an absence of inversion. [25] states that the
critical distance is controlled by the changing the Fermi level. Note that the small critical is yield by a

The Rate Of Aggregation, Differential, Sedimentation, And...
4. NEED FOR STABILISATION Although the small size of nanocrystals leads to several advantages,
but at the same time, it can lead to stability concerns as well. Theoretically, if we increase the drug
surface area, it leads to an increase in Gibbs free energy. The system tries to reverse this increase by
agglomeration/aggregation, ultimately leading to increased particle size and reduced stability.
Principally, the literature describes three mechanisms for aggregation prekinetic aggregation,
differential sedimentation and orthokinetic aggregation. In any dispersion, the particles are in
continuous Brownian motion, and they may collide and stick together as a result of the attractive
forces between them. Such a mechanism for aggregation is known as prekinetic aggregation. The rate
of aggregation in such cases would be determined by the frequency of collisions as well as the chances
of cohesion during collision. Differential sedimentation assumes importance when particles of varying
sizes and densities settle in a suspension. Faster settling particles collide with the slower moving ones,
thereby resulting in aggregation. Lastly, the orthokinetic aggregation mechanism describes the
aggregation brought about by increased particle collisions, arising out of particle transportation as a
result of fluid motion. Orthokinetic aggregation depends upon initial particle size and velocity
gradient, but is independent of temperature. Apart from aggregation, another stability issue

Part A: What are the objectives of both parties in the exchanges?
Marilyn and Len are both looking out for their teams, and protecting their own best interests. Marilyn
s objective is to get Len to turnover five billion dollars worth of viable accounts. Len s objective is to
get Marilyn to accept the accounts he has chosen to give her, so that his team won t incur a loss of
commission. How would you describe the general tone of the exchanges?

He used more than one frame. He used an outcome frame when stating his preferences, and a
characterization frame when stating that he viewed Marilyn s team as not ready to handle viable
accounts.
What do you project the outcome of the first exchange to be?
Because resources are fixed and limited, both used distributive bargaining strategies and tactics. Both
appear to be competing with each other. I project a win lose for Len. Marilyn tried to get Len to
reduce his resistance point by reminding him that they had made an agreement, and that she was
expecting him to commit to it. Her strategy was shortsighted because she didn t anticipate the frame
they would be using, or the frame Len would be using. Len elected to reframe his position on the basis
of power, using Joe as leverage, which was done intentionally, since Marilyn s challenges seemed to
fuel his creativity.
Part C: Were Marilyn s objectives achieved in the second exchange?
Yes. Marilyn used an active engagement strategy that persuaded Len to reveal his target and resistance
points. She got Len to see that their goals are not mutually exclusive, and that they need to work on a
transfer schedule that results in a win win. She used key steps in the integrative negotiation process to
shift the tone and focus of the exchange. She defined the problem, stated it as a goal, and avoided
stating solutions that favored her side only, until they could meet with Joe to examine alternative

The question of sexual identity is asked to many professional athletes when they are first diagnosed
with HIV or tested positive for the AIDS virus. Magic Johnson is a five time championship winner
with the Los Angeles Lakers, awarded MVP three times, and played amongst the first nine Olympic
All Star teams (Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame). Despite these great achievements in his
life, his contact with the HIV virus caused him to face much discrimination. Although Johnson s

While Magic continues to be healthy, public sentiment will be overwhelmingly on his side, but some
AIDS activists worry that when he gets sicker, that support may fade (Stewart). In Kantrowitz s article
Larry Kramer states, When his body becomes skin and bones and pus and runny sores, there won t be
so many people running to embrace him . Due to his good health and admitting to the disease early,
this prevented him from the harsh discrimination others have faced. Racism also may be a factor when
the disease progresses for Johnson. Black men are faced with discrimination everyday and looked
upon as criminals and drug addicts (Kantrowitz). Once you add the stigma of AIDS a black man with
AIDS is treated like garbage quot; (Kantrowitz). As Johnson s disease progresses one can expect the
same alienation and cruel discrimination as other less famous people.
A similar event that has recently taken place is the accusation of homosexuality towards Mike Piazza
for the New York Mets. Mike Piazza is not HIV positive nor does he have AIDS, but when a New
York Post s gossip columns ran an item in late May suggesting that a major league baseball player
whom it did not name is ready to come out all eyes turned to Piazza (Meers). Suspicion of his
sexuality began when he once stated, In this day and age, [sexual orientation is] irrelevant, I don t

Comparing Ovid s Metamorphoses And The Bible
When we look at creation myths throughout history and across religions we can see many similarities
drawn but also many differences. Close ties can be seen between Ovid s Metamorphoses and Genesis
in the Bible as well differences between the latter and the Aztec story of creation. These myths can be
contrasted on their themes and moral s demonstrated, the divine intervention that takes place, and type
of creation myth it is. When looking at the myths through those aspects we can see key resemblances
between the myths such as the evolution of the world and its people and this shed s light onto the
civilisation of origin.
In Ovid s Metamorphoses we a world created by the gods that is filled with plant and animal life all of
which is ruled by man. Four stages follow this creation each darker and more savage than the last. The
gods, outraged by the impiety, cover the world with a massive flood. With only two surviving figures

Much like in the Metamorphoses the inhabitants are disobedient and are exiled forced to populate and

perfect world. Each god is superseded when their version of earth fails by another who wipes it cleans

wiped clean.
All of the creation myths have a purpose and similar central themes and moral s that set out to educate
those who believe them. In Ovid s metamorphoses, Genesis and briefly in the Aztec creation myth a

Peta Animal Rights
Although we have, in theory, abolished human slavery, recognized women s rights, and stopped child
labor, we continue to enslave other species who, if we simply pay attention, show quite clearly that
they experience parental love, pain, and the desire for freedom, just as we do once said Ingrid
Newkirk, beloved animal rights activist and cofounder of the largest animal rights organizations,
PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. There is a much bigger picture than which lies
centered on the human species. Earth is inhabited with a rich variety of about eight million species,
most of which have been thought to exist for millions of years before humans evolved. The array of
diversity of life on our planet is mind blowing, however, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The admired biologist and conservationist E.O. Wilson once said, we should preserve every scrap of
biodiversity as priceless while we learn to use it and come to understand what it means to humanity.
This quote seems to encompass the overall main goal of zoologists: to preserve biodiversity, and while
we have it, study and examine it, and make discoveries that could help save all those on this planet.
Dr. Tim Cockerel, in a published interview with BBC, defined his job as a zoologist as someone who
studies species from anything to the diversity of animals, to how animals interact with other living
things, to how animals and humans interact with each other, and how we can make plans to save
threatened or endangered species for the future years to come (Cockerill). The typical zoologist
observes animals in a variety of settings, while studying behavioral tendencies, their natural habitat,
and how their acquired traits are passed down from generation to generation. Some daily activities of a
zoologist include dissection of animal specimens, preparation of slides of disease tissue under
microscopes, studying aggression or mating behaviors, testing the effects of drugs on animals, and
directing biological technicians who work alongside them. They may write scientific reports,
inventory or estimate wildlife populations, consult with management systems, must articulate well and
understand others. Many people who are involved in this field publish articles about their recent
research. The typical employers of zoologists include government departments, universities, private
research firms, biotechnology companies, zoos, wildlife sanctuaries, pharmaceutical agriculture, or
food research companies, environmental consulting firms, and possibly other private organizations. A

Frank Gaffney Hero
There are many heroic people in this world that are of inspiration to others. Some are famous and well
known, while some are unknown and even forgotten. An example of an unfortunately forgotten hero is
World War I veteran Frank Gaffney; the second bravest man in the United States military. Frank
Gaffney earned his heroism for his quick response when faced with danger during World War I. Even
though Gaffney became a forgotten hero of war, his remarkable accomplishments played a huge role
in the development of our free country.
Frank Gaffney was born in Buffalo, New York in 1883 and later enlisted in the army at age thirty one.

reinforcement came. Gaffney s actions led to the capture of eighty German soldiers once backup

Health Plan For Increase Expenditure
There are a number of products and initiatives being used by health plans to control expenditures and
maintain market competitiveness. Recent slowing in health expenditures has largely been due to price
changes, a shift from inpatient to outpatient care, and increased coverage. However, here I will focus
on operational changes within the health plan that can be made to decrease expenditures. I will discuss
how investing in disease management programs, wellness incentives, and value based insurance
design now can be used to control rising healthcare expenditures in the future while adding value for
consumers. I will also discuss the challenges involved with implementing these initiatives.
Disease Management Programs:
Background
A small portion of the patient population accounts for a disproportionate amount of health care
expenditures primarily due to chronic illness (Shelton, 2002). Because of this, and the overall rise in
healthcare costs, stakeholders have been searching for ways to target this small but expensive group of
people. One way is through disease management programs. It is a common belief that education and
preventive measures make it easier to manage chronic illness and reduce adverse outcomes including
lengthy hospitalizations (Shelton, 2002). Although these programs are fairly new and there isn t much
data to support or refute their success, this is an area worth exploring to potentially curve skyrocketing
healthcare expenditures.

How Shakespeare Portrays the Character of the King in...
How Shakespeare Portrays the Character of the King in William Shakespeare s Henry V By writing
this play, Shakespeare was hoping to inspire the people of England because at that time there was a
possible threat of war from Spain or Ireland. He was trying to create the feeling of patriotism so
writing about Henry was a good idea because he was the epitome of a brave, courageous king. He was
able to inspire his men to great victories such as the Battle of Agincourt, where the English won
against the odds. Many of the English were tired, fatigued before the battle and they were up against
the best French knights. This play was made into a film during the Second World War to inspire the

He says that Henry controls them like a man controlling his hound. Shakespeare continues this further
by saying that they crouch at his side waiting for his command. Henry knows what his actions will
bring. It suggests that Henry has the power to control the effects of war. At this time the Church was in
some of trouble. Canterbury tells Ely about a bill, which could take land away from the church. Henry
is now a true man of the Church and is likely to support the Church. But even so the cunning Bishop
of Canterbury has a plan that will divert his mind from the bill, and that is Henry s possible claims to
land in France. He says to Ely For I have made an offer to his majesty . If there is a war to get the land
the Church will pay some money for the campaign. Also in the conversation between the bishops, it
brings you up to date with what is currently happening. Henry had spent his youth (known as Prince
Hal) mixing with bad company, filling up his time with riots, banquets, sports and did not behave like
a prince or a possible future king. He was sociable who loved to go to public places, in particular

this he means that under the influence of his one time friends Henry was behaving like a common
person. But now under eye of the lords he was

Alexander Solzhenitsyn s One Day Of The Life Of Ivan...
Alexander Solzhenitsyn s classic novel, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich is a short novel about
a prisoner trying to survive a Soviet labor camp, known as the Gulag. Solzhenitsyn s writing style and
subject matter is similar to the pre Revolutionary writers than the writers of his time. Socialist realism
was the style of literature that was widely spread throughout Joseph Stalin s Soviet Union. Therefore,
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich consists mainly of socialist realist literature intended to
function as Communist propaganda, through optimistic and positive portrayals of workers satisfaction

the novella and throughout the history of the Soviet Union.
Soviet literature was increasing in popularity beginning in 1921. (DoaP). In the Soviet Union,
literature was to respond to social demand. The proletarians in literature had two goals: to root out
class alien culture, and to create new art forms in its place. The Cultural Revolution changed the face

President Clinton referenced the benefits of school uniforms in several speeches, including his 1996

How Does Arthur Miller Present Conflict In The Crucible
In Arthur Miller s play, The Crucible, several circumstances and actions have contributed to a
character s conflict(s). Miller creates a play in which he utilizes a variation of Greek tragedy. The play
consists of a tragic hero with a tragic flaw . Miller s play also displays McCarthyism, a practice
regularly practiced during the Red Scare in the 1950s because of the Cold War. The practice involves
making unfair accusations against one s character without appropriate evidence, e.g., the American

cleverly uses this during the Salem Witch Trials era, when this play is set. The Crucible portrays this

Persuasive Essay On Unfair Prejudice
People have been unfairly judged since the beginnings of time, everyday someone out there is being
bullied, unfairly harmed because of their race, or unprivileged because of their race or cultural
background. Whether they were the victims or the bullies everyone has at one point experienced some
form of inconsiderate judgement in their lives. It is no surprise that people have been unfairly judged
for hundreds of years now. There has been many cases of racism all over the world. From slavery and
the racial segregation of African Americans in the U.S, to the Holocaust and persecution of jews in
WWII, people all over the world have been discriminated for their appearance. Historically the
practice of unfair prejudice has been around for centuries. Although discrimination has significantly
decreased over time it is still something we see in today s society and many people have to deal with
the disadvantages it brings. Currently, the U.S is the most discriminative nation towards other cultural
minorities and it has even come to a point where policemen in the U.S have been questioned for their
actions. This is shown in many cases when people of color have been killed without evidence of
hostile behavior towards the authorities and this has stirred up a lot of controversy over the past few
years. Many diverse ethnic groups have evidently been conflicted by unfair prejudice across the U.S.
A group that has been conflicted by this are citizens of Middle Eastern descent, after the

A Literary Analysis Of The Alchemist
Literary Analysis of The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho What sets your heart on fire? What dreams are at
your core? According to Paulo Coelho this is called a Personal Legend. A Personal Legend is one s
hopes and dreams, what you have always wanted to accomplish (Coelho, 21). At the start of the novel,
we meet Santiago; an Andalusian shepherd with a dream of finding treasure in the Pyramids of Egypt,
yet does not know what he should do when he is confronted by his dream. But by the end of the novel
Santiago completely trusts his heart to guide him through an incredible journey. The theme of Coelho

From the beginning of the novel, Santiago constantly doubted his ability to continue on his journey.
Getting robbed marked that first unwanted thought of returning to his old life in Andalusia, I can
always go back to being a shepherd was what he thought. But as timed passed he began to consider
the fact that maybe [he would] never have another chance to get to the Pyramids in Egypt (Coelho,
64). Like the old saying You cannot change the direction of the wind, you can only adjust your sails,
Santiago realizes that when he thinks positively about his situation he is just a step closer to his
Personal Legend. After receiving an omen from the King in Tangiers, he thought to himself that this
wasn t a strange place, it was a new one (Coelho, 41), which ultimately made him feel more
comfortable about the situation. Also, when Santiago comes to face with the desert he must cross in
order to reach Egypt, he recalls, learning things from the sheep, and learning things from crystal...
[Which makes him think] can learn something from the desert, too (Coelho, 73). These lessons
Santiago has learned along the way enable him to get a positive look towards obstacles that lie ahead,

Light Fidelity (Li-Fi)
INTRODUCTION For years, infrared LED has been merely a system for piping light around corners
and into the inaccessible places to allow the hidden to be lighted. But now, infrared LED has evolved
into a system of significantly greater importance and use. Throughout the world, it is now being used
to transmit voice, television and data signals as light waves. Its advantages as compared with
conventional coaxial cable or twisted wire pairs are manifold. As a result, millions of dollars are being
spent to put these light wave communication systems into operation. One of the most interesting
developments in recent years in the field of telecommunication is the use of laser light to carry

The Legal Regulation Of Printing Press Disrupted The...
Those of us who care about continuing the copyright tradition that regards public access to
information as the principal goal of the law are faced with the hard task of searching for and exploring
middle ground scenarios wherein author/publisher interests in receiving compensation can be balanced
with user/library interests in having access to information on fair and reasonable terms. Finding and
implementing such a balance is all the more challenging in view of the messianic fervor that the Green
Paper has engendered in the publishing industry. As we search for middle grounds, it may help to
realize new technologies have been disrupting existing equilibria for centuries, yet balanced solutions
have been found before. The printing press disrupted the equilibrium of its day. When the first legal
regulation of printing proved imbalanced, legislative adjustments achieved a public policy balance that
has lasted for a considerable period of time. While the history of copyright reveals many examples of
disruptions caused by new technology and the construction of new balanced equilibria, one relatively
recent instructive example is that of the cable television industry. When cable technology made it
possible to transmit television programming to cable subscribers, owners of programming copyrights
sought to stop this retransmission, saying it would be their ruination. Courts, however, found no
copyright infringement, saying that passive retransmissions of signals were not public

Discuss The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Arbitration
The award of the arbitrators is final and generally no appeal lies against the award.
While in a regular civil suit there maybe an appeal and an appeal against an appeal.
 In arbitration, the dispute can be resolved without inflicting stress and emotional burden on the
parties which is a common feature in court proceedings.
 In a large number of cases, „Arbitration‟ facilitates the maintenance of continued relationship
between the parties even after the settlement.
 The parties in the arbitration process decide jointly on the arbitrator; in a litigation, the judge is
appointed and the parties have little or no say in the selection. The parties may have some say in
whether a case is heard by a judge or a jury.
 The people with knowledge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
 Another merit of institutional arbitration is One of the advantages of arbitration is that it provides
for final binding determination of the dispute between the parties. In other words, no review or appeal
lies against an arbitral award to ensure finality. This involves an inherent risk that mistakes committed
by the tribunal cannot be corrected, whereby one party would inevitably suffer. However, some
institutional rules provide for scrutiny of the draft award before the final award is issued and some
provide for a review procedure. The latter entitles the dissatisfied party to appeal to an arbitral tribunal
of second instance, which can confirm, vary, amend or set aside the first award and such decision in
appeal is considered to be final and binding upon the parties. Contrasting this to ad hoc arbitration
where there is no opportunity for appeal or review and the parties have to be prepared to suffer for the
mistakes of the arbitrators, this is a redeeming feature of institutional arbitration as it allows the parties
a second chance of presenting their case and also permits the rectification of mistakes made by the
tribunal of first instance. It also serves as a check on the

The Study Of The Theory Of International Relations
The study of international relations takes a vast spectrum of theoretical approaches. A theory of
international relations is a collection of concepts that delineate how the international system operates
(SparkNote on International Politics, 2010). Contrary to an ideology, a theory of international studies
is endorsed with solid evidence. This essay will focus on two dominant theories of International
Relations (IR), namely realism and liberalism to decide for this matter on the more pragmatic one for
the study of IR. According to realism, states work only to gain more power relative to that of other
states (Donelan: 1990:23). Liberalism matured in the 1970s as some scholars generated arguments that
realism was defunct. With the rise of globalization, the immediate increase in communications
technology, and the expansion of international trade meant that states could no longer be dependent on
complete power politics to resolve matters (Lawson, 2015:96). ... Show more content on

that this is false. Participants in this study didn t report improved alertness, and did not find it easier to

The Power Of The American Dream
Land of Opportunity, Home of the Brave, and Land of the Free often come to mind when envisioning
the United States for most individuals around the world. Through media, America and the American
Dream are depicted as the salvation for poverty, sorrow, and hardship. The Founding Fathers invented
the American Dream, offering life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, an abundance
of immigrants fell short of possessing the American Dream and slowly began to realize that these
alluring portrayals were merely a facade. Wealthy and influential corporations needed to revitalize the
American Dream before it dissolved amongst the masses. In order to keep American deception

The American Dream perpetuates the idea of the accessible and limitless opportunities. The
exploitation of opportunities during the eighteenth and nineteenth century made by many colonizers
formulated the societal ideal for desiring more (Shames 78). The more opportunities an individual
utilizes, the more likely an individual will attain happiness and reward. This idea of obtaining a greater
need for a favorable outcome correlates through consumerism. According to Shames, American
society measures progress and happiness by expansion in individuals standard of living (80).
Seemingly, the more one obtains translates into the happier he or she will be. Corporations create
mechanisms that perpetuate this notion, establishing a constant cycle of purchasing more.
Commercials express: the more you have, the happier you will become. Manipulative marketing
schemes persuade consumers that they must possess more in order to seek identity and attain
happiness. Consequently, the idea of consumerism becomes inescapable for the mass, forcing

Torque
Torque of a car is very important to its performance. Torque is the measure of how much force is
acting on an object and how that causes the object to rotate. (What is torque). Rotating the wheels of a
car is torque and that helps the car get up to speed faster. Many performance cars have very fast 0 60
mph speeds, like the corvette, challenger and exotic cars like the Porsche, Bentley, Ashton Martin etc.
Everyone wants to know exactly what torque does; it is basically the amount of turning power you
have, basically like using a wrench. When looking at car specifications, the torque that is shown is the
maximum torque of the internal combustion engine.
The torque can tell a lot about how fast can actually accelerate. For example, if 500 newton meters is
the toque that the tires experience, the mass of a typical car is 1500 kg, and the distance between the
center of mass of the car and the wheels rotational axis is about 20 cm, the moment of inertia I about
60 kg. Therefore the acceleration of the car is 4.25 m/s^2, meaning it can go 0 60 mph in 6.3 seconds.
(What does torque in a car do).
Car racing is a big part of torque; rotational motion in automobile racing is when the wheel turns
through revolutions throughout the race. The motor rotates in what is called as RPM. Each time a tire
rotates; the car moves the distance equal to the circumference of the tire. The distance a car

The Myths behind King Arthur
King Arthur In this paper will be discussed the myths behind King Arthur. King Arthur was a British
legend and over time the stories became a collection of stories written by different authors. King
Arthur was actually a general in the fifth century that fought to keep Brittan a free paradise of the
western hemisphere. With the different writers over the years writing about the great King Arthur the
stories got distorted and became more of myth than that of truth of the real King Arthur. The first
writings of King Arthur were around 830 by an author by the name of Nennius, according to the
Britons. There are many writings in existence today, as many as 200 over King Arthur. Much of the
myths of King Arthur and the legends of Merlin and Guinevere are what people read today. Much of
these are myths and not actual facts, though all started out with the actual life facts of King Arthur
from his birth in Tintagel to his death, they just got bent out of shape with the different writers over
the years. King Arthur was actually Lucius Artorius Castus, Arthur s name was originally Artorius, a
family name. This is where King Arthur became more of a myth than a real person. The myths became
more widespread when the marriage of Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine in France. This is where the
more romantic and spiritual myths began about King Arthur. In this time the author Chretien de Troyes
of the French court wrote about the Holy Grail. This is one of the first of

Argumentative Essay On Marie Antoinette
While many people may be familiar with the story of the French Revolution and history of Marie
Antoinette, they may not fully comprehend the lively debate that continues to exist around Marie
Antoinette. A debate over how Marie Antoinette should be remembered exists, with some arguing that
Antoinette was spoiled and careless and others taking the stance that Antoinette was a victim of her
harsh circumstances. Before delving into this controversy, background knowledge of Marie Antoinette
s life can assist in understanding the controversy. In 1770 at the age of fourteen, Marie Antoinette,
daughter of Austrian empress Maria Theresa, was married to Louis XVI of France to strengthen
French and Austrian relations. In 1774, Louis XVI became king and Marie Antoinette became queen.
Dissatisfaction toward Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette and economic turmoil led the French
Revolution to begin in 1789, with Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette eventually being guillotined in
1793 (Covington 56 65). The main debate surrounding Marie Antoinette focuses on her role as queen
of France and the time leading up to the French Revolution. The literature surrounding Antoinette is
currently in stasis regarding Marie Antoinette and the French Revolution. The arguments mostly agree
that had Marie Antoinette not become the queen of France, the French Revolution still would have
occurred. The major debate focuses on the persona of Marie Antoinette and whether she should be
remembered as a wasteful and unconcerned ruler or as a queen who has been unjustly villainized.
While the arguments are generally in stasis that Marie Antoinette was not the sole cause of the French
Revolution, the legacy of Marie Antoinette continues to be a point of disagreement. This debate does
not directly influence the history of the French Revolution, but it does affect the overall understanding
of Marie Antoinette and her actions throughout her queenship. The first side of the argument presents
Marie Antoinette more negatively, blaming her for her unconcerned attitude. David Grubin supports
this viewpoint, establishing Antoinette s failings as a queen by explaining her indifference towards her
subjects and the wealth that made her ignorant toward the needy. Grubin

The Harm In Hate Speech Analysis
Jeremy Waldron argues in favor of hate speech restrictions in his book The Harm in Hate Speech . He
presents the central argument that vulnerable minorities are in need of hate speech regulation to
protect them from harm. Another argument he presents is that such regulation must be a content based
regulation, as opposed to a time, place, and manner restriction that is usually employed to prevent
certain kinds of speech. A final argument he uses is that speech is the harmful action, rather than
speech simply causing harmful actions. I do not find his arguments to be compelling enough reasons
to support restricting free speech with hate speech laws.
Waldron s central argument is that vulnerable minorities need and deserve government ... Show more

He believes that since hate speech legislation is seen as acceptable and necessary in most developed
nations that it is therefore the principles are also applicable to the United States. He openly admits that
he does not accept any assumptions that make up free speech jurisprudence, because they are contrary
to his views on how society needs to address hateful speech. The assumptions he rejects include the
tendency for truth to prevail in the marketplace of ideas, the effectiveness of counter speech, and that
content based restrictions are bad.
However, these ideas cannot be simply dismissed because they are central to the American perspective
on the necessity of hate speech legislation. Waldron fails to address in an effective way why he is able
to dismiss these central ideas. In doing so, he is practically admitting to the reader that his ideas are
based outside of the framework of the reality of American free speech tradition. The strength of his
argument suffers from the fact that his argument is not applicable to the reality of American society s
views on free speech.
Waldron also argues that the harms caused by hate speech are constituted by speech, rather than
merely caused by speech (166). He believes that the element that damages the dignity and assurance
of vulnerable minorities is the speech itself, not actions that they speech promotes or the way that it is

he would get up and help his father fearing the chronic anger of that house. (8). I feel that the speaker
is reminiscing over how his father used to get him up early on Sunday mornings to help with anything
his father needed help with. I remember when I was a young boy, my father would make me get up
early on Saturday morning to help him cut some yards he used to tell me early birds catch the worms
back then I couldn t understand why he was making me get up and go to work with him, but now I see
that he was only doing that to make me a man and also there was offices that I had to do. The speaker
attitude is most likely the same he is looking back when he was younger seeing what his father was

Elizabeth Bell Short Story Essay
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 Elizabeth
Bell passed away peacefully on January 31st, 2019. She was survived by her mother Leigh Ann Bell,
her father Cory Bell, her sister Abigail Bell, brother William Bell, and her fiancé Oscar Rios Jr., she
was proceeded in death by her brother Danny Allen Bell. Elizabeth lived her life to the fullest, she was
always sweet, caring and loving. As her best friend, I seen many times where she was strong in so
many ways. She was a strong, courageous woman with a beautiful heart and soul. Elizabeth was a
loving person, always showing tenderness and care to those she knew. It s impossible to count the
ways that she showed her love to her family and friends, and it s impossible to write all the stories of
the caring, loving, and strength she displayed. It s mesmerizing how Elizabeth handled every situation
at the best of her ability every single day. She was caring and loving in so many ways, she sacrificed
so so much for her family. When Elizabeth was only in fifth grade, she started taking care of her
brother and sister. She made sure they got their baths, dressed, feed, homework, and went to bed on
time. Sometimes she didn t even have time to take care of herself. She cared for her brother and sister
so much that even to the day she passed she was doing everything to make them happy. Elizabeth
loved doing things with them individually to spend time with them. She would play

List Of Psychic Abilities
Agustina Moreira

Psychic Abilities
Throughout the course of history, there have been many psychic occurrences. Some people talk about
having psychic powers or psychic abilities, such as having a sixth sense. A sixth sense is a sense that is
beyond the five physical senses touching, seeing, smelling, hearing and tasting. The five senses are so
common, most people do not even notice they are using them. A sixth sense is often referred to as a
metaphysical ability, so in its most essential form, psychic power is knowing or seeing the future
before it happens. Although science has proven billions of facts, and has not definitively proven its
existence, that does not mean that it is not existent. There are many different types of psychic abilities.
Some abilities that have been reported in the past are Clairaudience, Telekinesis, Mediums, and
Psychic Surgeons. While science has been negating psychic abilities throughout history, there have
been several reported unexplainable events of these psychic powers.
Someone who is Clairaudient is able to hear events occurring at long distances, in the physical world,
and events occurring in other dimensions. On of the most common mental phenomena, which already
attained some prominence in the mesmeric movement of the preceding half century, was clairvoyance.
(Randi 338.) Clairaudient people receive messages in thought form from another frequency or realm.
It is considered a form of channeling.

Mrotek Deimos collaborated on the Sub Sonik track to win the WE R Raw remix competition, which
is well deserved. Their rendition is simple in its dedication to the raw style sounds, but it is so high
energy that it is almost impossible to resist dancing along. The bass line is heavy and voluminous,
perfect for any good sound system to carry through a room. Mrotek Deimos s remix is noteworthy,
and should be considered a highlight of their 2017 works. Check out the winning remix on

Mrotek was given the honor of producing the anthem for the Black Magic music festival that took
place this past October. Aptly named Daedra (released on Dirty Workz), the song is dark and
terrifying, exactly what you would expect for a festival taking place on Friday the 13th in October.
With ominous mids and energetic synths, Mrotek s song builds tension alongside eerie vocals. The
drops are both heavy and exciting, with enough momentum to keep you moving through each second.
Overall the tune is wicked and unrelenting, perfect for a Halloween festival. Check out this killer tune

Examples Of Archetypes In An Old Friend
Intro to Lit
Ellie Schwartz
Block 4
Mid Term
After doing what a young girl at the edge of adulthood does like sneaking around, going to meet boys
rather than doing what she tells her parents, a young rebellious girl, Connie, who has a bad
relationship with her parents, works through the temptations and situations from a creepy guy by the
name of Arnold. Her consciousness of right and wrong outweigh all the temptations. These decisions
and temptations are shown through archetypes in Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been by
Joyce Carol Oates. Oates focuses on biblical symbols, symbolic colors, and her beliefs in order to
create her story and make it have the meaning it does. Arnold Friend is a mysterious, creepy man who
takes over Connie when her parents are away. Arnold s name is connected to An Old Friend if you
take out the r on Arnold. Friend is misinterpreted though when the description of him states he is a boy
with shaggy, black hair, in a convertible jalopy painted gold (1). Oates ... Show more content on

The light colors usually, most the time represent good things. Dark colors most likely mean evil. In the
story most the colors go from light to dark, so things are good and turn bad. Arnold s car is an example
of bright things having a dark meaning because His car is painted a bright gold that caught the
sunlight opaquely so even though it was bright, it had a dark feel to it meaning something bad (2). His
name appears on his car in tar like black letters and both boys, Arnold and Ellie, wear metallic
sunglasses constantly as if they don t like the sunlight and are avoiding it, reflecting and keeping it out
because they are evil. Connie s dress does the same thing. In the beginning she has on a bright green
blouse and toward the end the dress darkens because she s sweating(3). This shows the tone of her
being happy hanging with friends, to bad and scared because of what Arnold is doing to

The Road Survival
The Man and Boy Face Life or Death
Think about living in an empty world, America that has never been seen before: a charcoal colored
buildings, ashes spread across the Earth with the dark, cold sky draping above the trees. This is the
environment that the man and the boy must experience everyday on their prolonged journey to reach
their goal: traveling to the coast where they believe there will be warmer climate and possible settlers.
The boy and the man wonder if struggling to stay alive is really going to be worth anything. It is worth
the man and the boy to fight for survival because they find many reasons to live. The man thinks
survival is important for him and the boy because they believe there is life on Earth that they can find.

The boy and man find motivation while traveling toward the coast. They have been through scarce
moments when they are fighting for their lives. For the man and the boy, every single day is a fight for
survival. The man s will for survival is constant, although he is unable to justify it or explain where it
comes from. Before his wife takes her own life he begs her not to do it, but she argues that they have
no reason to continue living. . (Road) The man has an unexplainable will to stay alive for as long as he
can, even as he starts to physically deteriorate. The man finds motivation to stay alive by displaying
his love and care toward the boy. Cormac McCarthy s novel The Road stages the same problem of
belief from the inside, but The Road is unique in locating the basis for meaning in the father s love for
his son, and even suggesting that this meaning transcends the father s efforts to affirm and protect his
son s life. . (Schaub)
The man finds an unexplainable will to live and is constantly trying to keep himself and his son alive.
He truly cares about his son and will do anything for

Effects Of Moving Away In A Family
The effects of someone moving away in a family
The moments in life when people have to move away is the worst part for some people who have the
feeling of being lost and lonely because it s usually a loved one moving from a state or even just a
town. This is a very hard topic because different people have different reactions to these moments. If
someone knows that they are suffering through the following because of split up in a family talk to
someone they can trust. These effects can cause to very hard times in life. The effects of this type of
movement can be caused by a parent moving away, brother, or sister. The effects can be affected
differently in which causes Daily life problems, Education, and even short term and long term choices
in life.
The effects a family member moving away, can cause really make someone s daily life even more
challenging because if it s effect is being put onto a younger child they wouldn t have a clue what s
really happening and not noticing that the person moving away might never come back. These effects
can make that child feel lonely or upset. In the later age this can and has been proven a leading factor
who drug abuse, horrid family relationships and drop outs of college, and high school. This also can
lead to denial of a certain family member with a blame on them. The more leading cause to this is the
drugs taken and not really the family member leaving unexpectedly. Parents who have had kids react
poorly toward this have

Analysis Of The Film Sophie Scholl
The film Sophie Scholl reflects the repetition of the concept of the Hero from across the sea . One of
Northrop Frye s lessons on biblical stories, he explores in detail what the hero from across the sea
means. This theory consists of a wasteland that is ruled by the impotent old king, whose land is being
destroyed by a sea monster whose only goal is to demand human sacrifice. In this story, the king s
daughter the princess tied to a rock is chosen as a sacrifice to the sea monster, but luckily a hero from
across the sea comes to her rescue, returning the fertility to the land. In the movie Sophie Scholl, this
idea is shown multiple times, by a variety of characters. The movie Sophie Scholl takes place in
Germany around the time when Hitler and the Nazis were in power. The protagonist, Sophie Scholl
and her brother Hans Scholl are members of a German group, the white rose, that is against Hitler s
view and its ultimate goal is for war to conclude. Looking at the story from a hero from across the sea
point of view, I can deduce that Germany itself is the lifeless wasteland, ravaged by the endless war
that Hitler and the Nazis inflicted on the country, by way of explanation, Hitler, and the Nazis are the
sea monster itself. Germany at this time in history was a place in where Someone who speaks freely...
is imprisoned or put to death (Sophie Scholl, 1:03:06). Which is what happens to them, they place
many leaflets around their university that express negative opinions towards Hitler. Unfortunately,
they get caught, they are interrogated for their crimes and sentenced to death by the old impotent king.
Naturally, Hitler is the most apparent choice when it comes to the old imponent king, but I think it can
be applied to both him and the president. The president doesn t exactly rule the wasteland, like Hitler,
but he has the final say on people s lives, allowing him to have to have an immense sense of authority.
He also is very arrogant and promotes Hitler s ideology to others, as if was the only viewpoint .
There are three broad examples that represent this concept through this film. One example is the when
Hans attempts to help his sister, by taking on the blame for the crime. During Sophie s

  • 2. Education Is An Important Part Of Life Education is an important part of life even for people who are already educated, but education never ends. As a matter of fact, intelligence is constantly increasing, so educated people should not waste such educations with unnecessary leisure activities like watching television when a person can continually improve his or her education. In today s culture, an educated person should spend more time reading than watching television because reading builds the reader s vocabulary and reinforces the prior knowledge of particular terminology, but watching television requires no active thinking. Challenging the mind is one of the greatest ways to improve it, so reading at higher levels, regardless of age or education status, will build the vocabulary of a reader, thus making the reader a more knowledgeable person. When a reader stumbles across an unfamiliar word in a sentence, he or she may use context clues to figure out the meaning of the word, or this person could simply look up the word in a dictionary or similar source. Seeing unfamiliar words challenges a reader s mind because each word is introduced multiple times in order to define it: once when reading the sentence the first time, twice after reading it the second time, three times in order to look up the word, and four times when the reader uses the word s definition in place of the term in the sentence. These re introductions build a reader s vocabulary which is important because having a stronger vocabulary allows a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Study On Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Background Information: The study took place in north Europe Scandinavian countries such as Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The local paediatrician from Norway and Sweden and the forensic institution of Denmark invited parents of sudden infant death syndromes (SIDS) to take part in the study. Sudden infant death syndrome is the sudden, unexpected and unexplained death of an apparently healthy baby. There were several aims behind the study. The main aim of the study was to overlook whether smoking was a cause of risk for sudden infant death syndrome and whether the consequence is owed to maternal smoking during the pregnancy or to inhaling smoke from other people s cigarettes also called passive smoking. Likewise, they wanted to observe if the influence of smoking cessation played a big role in SIDS. They also wanted to research whether the risk before and after the birth on SIDS in children are different of smoking and non smoking mothers. And lastly, the results of different smoking habits in the Scandinavian countries were investigated and analysed. The principal objective in this case control study is to provide a valid and reasonably good estimate answer to the unexplained deaths. In practice, this objective is usually supplemented by several others. A typical objective would be to link the disadvantages of smoking and health risks to the unborn baby and any other dangers smoking could provoke. • 4. Gerald Celente s Tragic End Of The Twentieth Century Looking back, it s somewhat funny to think that people actually believed Y2K was for real and the world, as they knew it, would come to an abrupt end. Throughout his essay, Gerald Celente illustrates how he believes the new millennium will pan out for society. For the most part, Celente does hit the hammer on the nail with many of his predictions of the coming millennium; however, he does treat it like all the bad from the 20th century will immediately disappear and all will be well in the new millennium. Unfortunately, because of the horrific war, unpredictable economic struggles, and increasing racial tensions in our society, one cannot say that all the evil has vanished completely. Apart from all the negatives, Celente does describe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One thing I admire about what Celente described in this essay is that he wants health to be more of a priority in future American society and I couldn t agree more, and organizations like Feeding America, Fight Hunger, and the United Nations World Food Programme are not only working to help fight hunger issues around the world, but also making sure that no child or adult will ever go hungry again. • 5. Suicide Among Young Rural Women Suicide is a universal phenomenon that has deep and extensive implications for the overall wellbeing of a community. Not only is suicide a tragic personal and societal loss, but suicide rates can also serve as an index of underlying societal problems, such as sources of oppression and lack of social support. Exhibiting several interesting suicide trends, China is a country that provides ample opportunity for investigating the problem of suicide and its causes. There are observed Western patterns of urban, male, and mentally ill populations being at greater risk for suicide trends that are challenged by the reversed patterns of suicide in China, where youth, female gender, and rural residence are a potentially lethal combination .1 The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, in Western societies, suicide is 3 times more prevalent in urban than in rural areas2, 3 5 times more prevalent in males than in females when measured through completion rates (though attempt rates are higher among females)3, and 9 times more often associated with mental illness than not.1 The explanations for these trends draw on psychological and sociological theories: it has been hypothesized that men are more likely than women to use lethal means of attempting suicide, and that the economic hardship, unemployment, and social disintegration that afflict city life make suicide a greater problem in urban than in rural areas.4 In China, however, the trends regarding gender, urban status, and mental health are surprisingly reversed: rural suicides outnumber urban suicides by a 3:1 ratio, female suicides outnumber male suicides by a 3:1 ratio, and as few as 40% of suicides are accompanied by mental illness.5 The Western perspective is accustomed to viewing suicide as intrinsically linked to mental health conditions such as depression, and thus often examines suicide by considering individual psychological factors. However, the unique patterns of suicide seen in China require an examination of suicide not only from a mental health perspective, but also from an anthropological perspective that is sensitive to social stressors, not just ... • 6. Essay On Gas Sensor Technology Gas sensor technology is very appreciating in industries and defense since it possesses high sensitivity in gas detection. The most important challenges in transportable devices are sensitivity, selectivity, durability and low power consumption. To solve the selectivity problems, GBISs have been introduced. These latter are able to identify unknown gas ionization breakdown voltage. To reduce the breakdown voltage CNT GBISs are employed [6] [12] while others studies used MWCNT with a reduction of 100 450V.Nevertheless, these CNT GBISs are exposed to corona discharges which lead to heat generation and may affect the gas ionization breakdown. For uniform fields, the breakdown characteristics are explained by Townsend s criteria (equ 1) [1]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus the objective of this paper is to overcome this limitation by providing a simple and low cost fabrication. Nonorganic species ionization feature is also required. Freestanding nanowire arrays are good field ionization sources since they present high aspect ratio and density. The template assisted electromechanical method is an easy and costless technique but presents limitations as the incorporated nanowires arrays bundle or collapse during template removal. To prevent this a PAA growth AuNWs were vertically aligned and embedded at a miniature cylindrical cell with a flat cathode. A number of tests gases have been used to perform the field ionization s tests with deviating low ionization threshold voltages (Vi) as results. The critical distance now depends on the amount of band bending whose expression is shown by equation (4). Even with zero fields, authors [19],[24] [27] have demonstrated that impurities and dangling bonds may impact the band bending potential. With an applied field reduction of the band, bending is observed with a tunneling above the Fermi level even with an absence of inversion. • 7. The Rate Of Aggregation, Differential, Sedimentation, And... 4. NEED FOR STABILISATION Although the small size of nanocrystals leads to several advantages, but at the same time, it can lead to stability concerns as well. Theoretically, if we increase the drug surface area, it leads to an increase in Gibbs free energy. The system tries to reverse this increase by agglomeration/aggregation, ultimately leading to increased particle size and reduced stability. Principally, the literature describes three mechanisms for aggregation prekinetic aggregation, differential sedimentation and orthokinetic aggregation. In any dispersion, the particles are in continuous Brownian motion, and they may collide and stick together as a result of the attractive forces between them. Such a mechanism for aggregation is known as prekinetic aggregation. The rate of aggregation in such cases would be determined by the frequency of collisions as well as the chances of cohesion during collision. Differential sedimentation assumes importance when particles of varying sizes and densities settle in a suspension. Faster settling particles collide with the slower moving ones, thereby resulting in aggregation. Lastly, the orthokinetic aggregation mechanism describes the aggregation brought about by increased particle collisions, arising out of particle transportation as a result of fluid motion. Orthokinetic aggregation depends upon initial particle size and velocity gradient, but is independent of temperature. Apart from aggregation, another stability issue ... Dr. Tim Cockerel, in a published interview with BBC, defined his job as a zoologist as someone who studies species from anything to the diversity of animals, to how animals interact with other living things, to how animals and humans interact with each other, and how we can make plans to save threatened or endangered species for the future years to come (Cockerill). The typical zoologist observes animals in a variety of settings, while studying behavioral tendencies, their natural habitat, and how their acquired traits are passed down from generation to generation. Recent slowing in health expenditures has largely been due to price changes, a shift from inpatient to outpatient care, and increased coverage. However, here I will focus on operational changes within the health plan that can be made to decrease expenditures. I will discuss how investing in disease management programs, wellness incentives, and value based insurance design now can be used to control rising healthcare expenditures in the future while adding value for consumers. I will also discuss the challenges involved with implementing these initiatives. Disease Management Programs: Background A small portion of the patient population accounts for a disproportionate amount of health care expenditures primarily due to chronic illness (Shelton, 2002). Because of this, and the overall rise in healthcare costs, stakeholders have been searching for ways to target this small but expensive group of people. One way is through disease management programs. It is a common belief that education and preventive measures make it easier to manage chronic illness and reduce adverse outcomes including lengthy hospitalizations (Shelton, 2002). Although these programs are fairly new and there isn t much data to support or refute their success, this is an area worth exploring to potentially curve skyrocketing healthcare expenditures. • 22. Persuasive Essay On Unfair Prejudice People have been unfairly judged since the beginnings of time, everyday someone out there is being bullied, unfairly harmed because of their race, or unprivileged because of their race or cultural background. Whether they were the victims or the bullies everyone has at one point experienced some form of inconsiderate judgement in their lives. It is no surprise that people have been unfairly judged for hundreds of years now. There has been many cases of racism all over the world. From slavery and the racial segregation of African Americans in the U.S, to the Holocaust and persecution of jews in WWII, people all over the world have been discriminated for their appearance. Historically the practice of unfair prejudice has been around for centuries. Although discrimination has significantly decreased over time it is still something we see in today s society and many people have to deal with the disadvantages it brings. Currently, the U.S is the most discriminative nation towards other cultural minorities and it has even come to a point where policemen in the U.S have been questioned for their actions. This is shown in many cases when people of color have been killed without evidence of hostile behavior towards the authorities and this has stirred up a lot of controversy over the past few years. Many diverse ethnic groups have evidently been conflicted by unfair prejudice across the U.S. A group that has been conflicted by this are citizens of Middle Eastern descent, after the ... • 25. The Legal Regulation Of Printing Press Disrupted The... Those of us who care about continuing the copyright tradition that regards public access to information as the principal goal of the law are faced with the hard task of searching for and exploring middle ground scenarios wherein author/publisher interests in receiving compensation can be balanced with user/library interests in having access to information on fair and reasonable terms. Finding and implementing such a balance is all the more challenging in view of the messianic fervor that the Green Paper has engendered in the publishing industry. As we search for middle grounds, it may help to realize new technologies have been disrupting existing equilibria for centuries, yet balanced solutions have been found before. The printing press disrupted the equilibrium of its day. When the first legal regulation of printing proved imbalanced, legislative adjustments achieved a public policy balance that has lasted for a considerable period of time. While the history of copyright reveals many examples of disruptions caused by new technology and the construction of new balanced equilibria, one relatively recent instructive example is that of the cable television industry. When cable technology made it possible to transmit television programming to cable subscribers, owners of programming copyrights sought to stop this retransmission, saying it would be their ruination. Courts, however, found no copyright infringement, saying that passive retransmissions of signals were not public ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In other words, no review or appeal lies against an arbitral award to ensure finality. This involves an inherent risk that mistakes committed by the tribunal cannot be corrected, whereby one party would inevitably suffer. However, some institutional rules provide for scrutiny of the draft award before the final award is issued and some provide for a review procedure. The latter entitles the dissatisfied party to appeal to an arbitral tribunal of second instance, which can confirm, vary, amend or set aside the first award and such decision in appeal is considered to be final and binding upon the parties. Contrasting this to ad hoc arbitration where there is no opportunity for appeal or review and the parties have to be prepared to suffer for the mistakes of the arbitrators, this is a redeeming feature of institutional arbitration as it allows the parties a second chance of presenting their case and also permits the rectification of mistakes made by the tribunal of first instance. Liberalism matured in the 1970s as some scholars generated arguments that realism was defunct. • 33. Report On The Car Engines Car Engines Jonah Hornum Wilde Lake High School Jonah Hornum Torque Torque of a car is very important to its performance. Torque is the measure of how much force is acting on an object and how that causes the object to rotate. (What is torque). Rotating the wheels of a car is torque and that helps the car get up to speed faster. Many performance cars have very fast 0 60 mph speeds, like the corvette, challenger and exotic cars like the Porsche, Bentley, Ashton Martin etc. Everyone wants to know exactly what torque does; it is basically the amount of turning power you have, basically like using a wrench. When looking at car specifications, the torque that is shown is the maximum torque of the internal combustion engine. The torque can tell a lot about how fast can actually accelerate. For example, if 500 newton meters is the toque that the tires experience, the mass of a typical car is 1500 kg, and the distance between the center of mass of the car and the wheels rotational axis is about 20 cm, the moment of inertia I about 60 kg. Therefore the acceleration of the car is 4.25 m/s^2, meaning it can go 0 60 mph in 6.3 seconds. (What does torque in a car do). Car racing is a big part of torque; rotational motion in automobile racing is when the wheel turns through revolutions throughout the race. The motor rotates in what is called as RPM. • 36. The Myths behind King Arthur King Arthur In this paper will be discussed the myths behind King Arthur. King Arthur was a British legend and over time the stories became a collection of stories written by different authors. King Arthur was actually a general in the fifth century that fought to keep Brittan a free paradise of the western hemisphere. With the different writers over the years writing about the great King Arthur the stories got distorted and became more of myth than that of truth of the real King Arthur. The first writings of King Arthur were around 830 by an author by the name of Nennius, according to the Britons. There are many writings in existence today, as many as 200 over King Arthur. Much of the myths of King Arthur and the legends of Merlin and Guinevere are what people read today. • 37. Argumentative Essay On Marie Antoinette While many people may be familiar with the story of the French Revolution and history of Marie Antoinette, they may not fully comprehend the lively debate that continues to exist around Marie Antoinette. A debate over how Marie Antoinette should be remembered exists, with some arguing that Antoinette was spoiled and careless and others taking the stance that Antoinette was a victim of her harsh circumstances. Before delving into this controversy, background knowledge of Marie Antoinette s life can assist in understanding the controversy. In 1770 at the age of fourteen, Marie Antoinette, daughter of Austrian empress Maria Theresa, was married to Louis XVI of France to strengthen French and Austrian relations. In 1774, Louis XVI became king and Marie Antoinette became queen. Dissatisfaction toward Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette and economic turmoil led the French Revolution to begin in 1789, with Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette eventually being guillotined in 1793 (Covington 56 65). The main debate surrounding Marie Antoinette focuses on her role as queen of France and the time leading up to the French Revolution. The literature surrounding Antoinette is currently in stasis regarding Marie Antoinette and the French Revolution. The arguments mostly agree that had Marie Antoinette not become the queen of France, the French Revolution still would have occurred. The major debate focuses on the persona of Marie Antoinette and whether she should be remembered as a wasteful and unconcerned ruler or as a queen who has been unjustly villainized. While the arguments are generally in stasis that Marie Antoinette was not the sole cause of the French Revolution, the legacy of Marie Antoinette continues to be a point of disagreement. This debate does not directly influence the history of the French Revolution, but it does affect the overall understanding of Marie Antoinette and her actions throughout her queenship. The first side of the argument presents Marie Antoinette more negatively, blaming her for her unconcerned attitude. David Grubin supports this viewpoint, establishing Antoinette s failings as a queen by explaining her indifference towards her subjects and the wealth that made her ignorant toward the needy. The assumptions he rejects include the tendency for truth to prevail in the marketplace of ideas, the effectiveness of counter speech, and that content based restrictions are bad. • 43. List Of Psychic Abilities Agustina Moreira J.Bowen British Lit/Comp 19 October 2016 Psychic Abilities Throughout the course of history, there have been many psychic occurrences. Some people talk about having psychic powers or psychic abilities, such as having a sixth sense. A sixth sense is a sense that is beyond the five physical senses touching, seeing, smelling, hearing and tasting. The five senses are so common, most people do not even notice they are using them. A sixth sense is often referred to as a metaphysical ability, so in its most essential form, psychic power is knowing or seeing the future before it happens. Although science has proven billions of facts, and has not definitively proven its existence, that does not mean that it is not existent. There are many different types of psychic abilities. Some abilities that have been reported in the past are Clairaudience, Telekinesis, Mediums, and Psychic Surgeons. While science has been negating psychic abilities throughout history, there have been several reported unexplainable events of these psychic powers. Someone who is Clairaudient is able to hear events occurring at long distances, in the physical world, and events occurring in other dimensions. On of the most common mental phenomena, which already attained some prominence in the mesmeric movement of the preceding half century, was clairvoyance. (Randi 338.) Clairaudient people receive messages in thought form from another frequency or realm. It is considered a form of channeling. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mrotek Deimos collaborated on the Sub Sonik track to win the WE R Raw remix competition, which is well deserved. Their rendition is simple in its dedication to the raw style sounds, but it is so high energy that it is almost impossible to resist dancing along. The bass line is heavy and voluminous, perfect for any good sound system to carry through a room. Mrotek Deimos s remix is noteworthy, and should be considered a highlight of their 2017 works. Check out the winning remix on Soundcloud below: https://soundcloud.com/subsonikmedia/sub sonik to hell mrotek deimos remix 1 Mrotek was given the honor of producing the anthem for the Black Magic music festival that took place this past October. Aptly named Daedra (released on Dirty Workz), the song is dark and terrifying, exactly what you would expect for a festival taking place on Friday the 13th in October. With ominous mids and energetic synths, Mrotek s song builds tension alongside eerie vocals. The drops are both heavy and exciting, with enough momentum to keep you moving through each second. Overall the tune is wicked and unrelenting, perfect for a Halloween festival. Her consciousness of right and wrong outweigh all the temptations. These decisions and temptations are shown through archetypes in Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been by Joyce Carol Oates. Oates focuses on biblical symbols, symbolic colors, and her beliefs in order to create her story and make it have the meaning it does. Arnold Friend is a mysterious, creepy man who takes over Connie when her parents are away. Arnold s name is connected to An Old Friend if you take out the r on Arnold. Friend is misinterpreted though when the description of him states he is a boy with shaggy, black hair, in a convertible jalopy painted gold (1). Oates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The light colors usually, most the time represent good things. Dark colors most likely mean evil. In the story most the colors go from light to dark, so things are good and turn bad. Arnold s car is an example of bright things having a dark meaning because His car is painted a bright gold that caught the sunlight opaquely so even though it was bright, it had a dark feel to it meaning something bad (2). His name appears on his car in tar like black letters and both boys, Arnold and Ellie, wear metallic sunglasses constantly as if they don t like the sunlight and are avoiding it, reflecting and keeping it out because they are evil. Connie s dress does the same thing. In the beginning she has on a bright green blouse and toward the end the dress darkens because she s sweating(3). This shows the tone of her being happy hanging with friends, to bad and scared because of what Arnold is doing to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Analysis Of The Film Sophie Scholl The film Sophie Scholl reflects the repetition of the concept of the Hero from across the sea . One of Northrop Frye s lessons on biblical stories, he explores in detail what the hero from across the sea means. This theory consists of a wasteland that is ruled by the impotent old king, whose land is being destroyed by a sea monster whose only goal is to demand human sacrifice. In this story, the king s daughter the princess tied to a rock is chosen as a sacrifice to the sea monster, but luckily a hero from across the sea comes to her rescue, returning the fertility to the land. In the movie Sophie Scholl, this idea is shown multiple times, by a variety of characters. The movie Sophie Scholl takes place in Germany around the time when Hitler and the Nazis were in power. The protagonist, Sophie Scholl and her brother Hans Scholl are members of a German group, the white rose, that is against Hitler s view and its ultimate goal is for war to conclude. Looking at the story from a hero from across the sea point of view, I can deduce that Germany itself is the lifeless wasteland, ravaged by the endless war that Hitler and the Nazis inflicted on the country, by way of explanation, Hitler, and the Nazis are the sea monster itself. Germany at this time in history was a place in where Someone who speaks freely... is imprisoned or put to death (Sophie Scholl, 1:03:06). Which is what happens to them, they place many leaflets around their university that express negative opinions towards Hitler. Unfortunately, they get caught, they are interrogated for their crimes and sentenced to death by the old impotent king. Naturally, Hitler is the most apparent choice when it comes to the old imponent king, but I think it can be applied to both him and the president. The president doesn t exactly rule the wasteland, like Hitler, but he has the final say on people s lives, allowing him to have to have an immense sense of authority. He also is very arrogant and promotes Hitler s ideology to others, as if was the only viewpoint . There are three broad examples that represent this concept through this film. One example is the when Hans attempts to help his sister, by taking on the blame for the crime. During Sophie s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
