Health IT Consultants
After extensive research and a great deal of thinking I believe Consulting is my desired career path.
With a major shift towards electronic health records in the healthcare industry, Health IT consultants
are of high significance and are rapidly becoming one of the more vital and in demand professions.
Working on various projects throughout undergrad as well as graduate school, I have come to realize
that the consulting role is a role that I d be a very good fit for. Health IT consultants are responsible
for several tasks. From overseeing clinical application systems to managing and administering
databases, there are a lot of duties and responsibilities of Health IT consultants. This role can include
responsibilities related to all aspects of the clinical information system, from implementation and
alteration, to training and figuring out any problems that might arise with ... Show more content on

When considering an implementation plan, consultants are the face of the company. When a project is
being implemented, consultants are the individuals who represent the company who is hired to do the
implementation. So their role is crucial. When undergoing an implementation plan, they are
accountable for administering each of the phases of the implementation so that the necessary activities
take place as scheduled and at the anticipated level of quality with effective involvement of all those
individuals taking part in the implementation. The consultants are also responsible for creating a
detailed work plan for the implementation. This plan must include appropriate tasks and these tasks
must be allocated to the right individuals. Consultants will also add value to the project, they bring
their prior experiences and knowledge about implementations. During implementation, since they
know what will work and what wont, they eliminate the trial and error method of implementation and

Strategic Planning Should Not Be Underestimated
Introduction
The importance of strategic planning should not be underestimated. Without proper strategic planning
any organization is just waiting for unseen problems to interrupt normal business operations. Strategic
planning could be considered the backbone of the foundation of an organization. It is the glue which
links the organization s objectives to the customers themselves. Strategic planning helps the
organization in short term goals and perhaps more importantly determine the items need for term
success. The investment in strategic planning can be seen in specific elements which will aid in the
company s ability to grow as well as expand its market area. In addition to goal setting strategic
planning could be used to evaluate what may be beneficial to any organization s success process. This
means determining which avenues to use valuable resources for and others in which to discontinue or
scale back on. Because of the overall importance of strategic planning how to define whether a
strategic planning is valid must also be given much consideration. The Baldridge criteria is a highly
reliable source as well as well known institute, of which many organizations use to base their strategic
planning on. The Baldrige Program oversees the nation s only Presidential award for performance
excellence while offering criteria, assessments, tools, training and a community for those dedicated to
helping organizations improve. According to the Baldridge Performance

On December 3 in 1859 Abraham Lincoln gave a speech about John Brown in Leavenworth Kansas,
at the Stockton s Hall, which consisted of The Republican Party National Convention. Abraham
Lincoln who was a republican speaking to and republican audience, mostly talked about the ideology
of popular sovereignty and the Kansas Nebraska act. I noticed that Abraham only talks about John
Brown at the end of a very long speech very briefly, he does not show any respect to John Brown he
only rubs it in that he died at his own phone. This makes me think Abraham Lincoln has no sympathy
towards John Brown, especially because it is the day after his execution and he is basically insulting
John Brown. Old John Brown has just been executed for treason against a state. We cannot object,
even though he agreed with us in thinking slavery was wrong. That cannot excuse violence,
bloodshed, and treason. I noticed that Abraham repeats the word treason . Treason is a crime of
betraying one s country especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government. I
think he uses the word to really justify that what John Brown did was inexcusable and that he
committed a horrible crime and has betrayed the country. Treason makes you think of John Brown
very negatively and that he did something very horrible and he deserves death. Lincoln also seems to
be accusing John Brown of something. It was in Lincoln think that John Brown deserves

Complications During Birth
Chapter four had very interesting information when it came to prenatal care, complications during
birth and, new mothers. The first main point is prenatal care which is very important for the mother.
When the mother is on her first trimester they have many benefits, they will learn on what they have
to eat and what they have to do also what they have to avoid. The second main point, is the
complications of birth. Any birth can be complicated but young mothers can be more at risks during
childbirth. Also by a baby being breech it can cause a emergency c section where the mother is rushed
to the emergency room and is having a c section. Breech is when the child is not in the position that

Greek Influence On The Modern World
The Greek influence in the modern world is still significant today. In a matter of words Hellenism
brought us intelligence. The cultural significance of Hellenism in this modern world brought us
libraries, museums, art, architecture, language, warfare tactics and weapons, philosophers and
philosophies, and democratic societies. Hellenism in the modern world means to adopt Greek culture
even in non Greek regions. Hellenism has brought to the modern world many different things that may
have been once impossible. Hellenism has brought literature comedies epic tales, poetry, and tragedy.
In modern terms this is converted into books, movies, theatre, television, plays, and they have become
a part of everyday life. Furthermore, Hellenism has brought us philosophy, which in a way increased
intelligence. With the likes of Pluto, he brought us ethics, justice, and methods of acquiring

the perfect venue to open up is done with some thoughtful planning. There are some important
elements to consider. Location is always a key element. A new venue such as a nightclub needs to be

this activity.
By offering more than alcoholic drinks, the club will bring in a wider variety of people. They will be

to people not there just to drink. The food in the club will be affordable and appeal to many. There is
your typical bar food such as hot wings, nachos and burgers, as well as moderately priced entrees. In
addition to the amenities, the service will be key. There will be friendly high energy staff available to

The Case Of Riley Mahan Essay
Riley Mahan was reportedly born on 1/26/1997 in Ventura, California to the intact union of Kevin and
Kathleen Mahan. Mr. Mahan, the elder, worked as the director of theatre lighting at the Shakespeare
Theatre in Washington, D.C. before his death in January 2016. The defendant s mother, Mrs. Mahan,
also worked in the theatre business as a stage manager for several years. The defendant is the oldest of
two sons born to the Mahans. His brother, Bryce, is 14 years old and has been identified on the autism
spectrum according to Mrs. Mahan. His parents have been divorced for several years. The defendant
reportedly lived in California until he was two years old before relocating to the Northern Virginia
area. In March 2015, their family home was destroyed by a fire. Although no one was physically hurt
in the fire, as no one was home at the time, Mrs. Mahan believes the trauma from losing the home and
the death of his father contributed to her son s mental health symptoms. She described periods of the
defendant displaying appropriate, calm behavior that could vacillate in mood and behavior quickly
without a known trigger. She described her son as kind, smart, and helpful, but admitted that he has
met some traumatic disappointments in the last couple of years.
Mr. Mahan graduated from Woodson High School after first attending Robinson Secondary School
through 10th grade. He offered that he was classified as eligible for special educational services during

I. Problem Statement
Lancers present problem is figuring out if they should reposition themselves as a company.
Repositioning the company is a risky move because Lancer deals with a distinct market. A large
department store has contacted Lancer to start mass producing replicas which could ultimately result
in a $4 million dollar increase in annual revenue. Lancer which is mainly known for high quality
merchandise now has to make the decision whether they should start mass producing like their

On the other hand, the company s products would be more seen by consumers, which means the
demand for their products probably increase.
IV. Alternatives A. Accept the contract 1. Advantages a. Lancer accepting the contract from the
department store would result in a $4 million dollar increase in annual revenue. b. Lancers
merchandise was limited before the contract, but now with mass production through the department
store they will be able to fully compete with competitors in the market. The company would no longer
have to worry about the scarcity of authentic artifacts because they would be mass producing.
2. Disadvantages a. Lancer accepting the contract from the department store will affect the brand
image within the market, which is known to have a sense of exclusivity. This will change if they
choose to mass produce. b. If Lancer were to mass produce replicas this could lead to upsetting
customers and also dealers who will take their business elsewhere. The reason being that they were
used to have exclusive artifacts and now they won t because of mass production.
B. Reject Contract 1. Advantages a. The company wouldn t produce replicas and change their business
model (sales are still increasing roughly 20% each year) b. By declining the contract from the
department store, it will allow the company to maintain its strong and well respected brand image it is
known for. If Lancer was to accept the contract

Measuring World Development Essay
Measuring World Development
Development is a complex economic, social and political phenomenon. There are a range of simple
and composite indicators used to measure development. There are many definitions of development,
perhaps the most used is;
Development refers to a number of characteristics such as demographic change, economic growth, an
increase in the case of resources, modernisation, higher levels of technology and political freedom.
Indicators of development are put into four sectors: Economic, Social, Political and environmental.
These factors can be broken down into two groups, simple and composite. Such simple indictors
would be birth rate, death rate and GNP. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These types of countries are not necessarily not developed , they just have different customs, cultural
differences or they could be nomadic (farming based) or an indigenous population, as described
above.
Maps of the globe are produced to show levels of world development based on three key features;
wealth, social advantage and deprivation. An imaginary line can be seen around the world which
separates the developed countries and the non developed countries. This line is called the Brandt line.
It is a modern day method of measuring development. It basically separates countries based on how
economically stable a country is, how technologically advanced it is, how democratic and how
modern a country is. The line shows most developed countries to the north and west, whereas the least
developed countries to the south and east. As with every theory, there are exceptions. These being
Australia and New Zealand, which are classed as developed countries.
Other indicators of development that are being used today are the PQLI, which is the physical quality
of life index. Also the IHSI, which is the International Human Suffering Index. The PQLI is a
quantitative measure of development and can be calculated by taking the average of three variables.
These are life expectancy, literacy rates,

Wassily Kandinsky Research Paper
Research Paper: Wassily Kandinsky
Shelby Steinbach
Des Moines Area Community College
April 2017
Wassily Kandinsky has been part of my fascination and love for art for approximately ten years now.
Beginning when I was a freshman in high school, and every year as part of our art classes, my
instructor would do small units on art theory and highlight artists throughout those units, Kandinsky
included. While my talents, in particular, are somewhat limited to what I can represent, Kandinsky
was the first to break Western art s most important rule: that art need to depict anything (Frank, 396).
As the first to break away from art being representational, Kandinsky opened other avenues of
expression, as well (Wassily Kandinsky.org). Surrealism, the movement I am most fascinated by, is
something I believe is a natural extension from art representing nothing, to art representing multiple
things. Der Blaue Reiter, painted in 1903 is important for several reasons. Leaning more towards
Impressionism, it is one of the more famous paintings from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

the celebrity tabloid press is that the business press can have a much greater impact on who they are
writing about, and the organizations that are the subject matter will ensure at all costs that it is to the
subject organization s benefit. Again, everything is based on some truth, but the truth to look for that
can be learned is not what is written on the page, but what is left out of the articles.
How do we take on the business press from an OB point of view? Everyone needs to simply put on
your investigator hat, ask questions, analyze the situation, and consider the source! (Robbins and
Judge, 2011). If we lower our guard and believe every scrap of information that floats by us on the
news or in written publications without question, then we might as well just give up and get a job in
the service industry like 80% of the current US population according to Robbins and Judge; service
jobs generally require little or no thought at an individual level aside from understanding company
objectives and following pre lain guidelines for success within the organization.
Regardless of current business media trend reporting on chaos in the cubicles or fight clubs breaking
out in the factories, sensible businesses leaders must sift through the muck and still make important
decisions regarding their company security and employee safety. Regardless of whether this case

Compare And Contrast Theseus And Oedipus
While I was analyzing the two Greek heroes Theseus and Oedipus origins, it became obvious that they
share quite a few differences and similarities as is common amongst heroes in Greek mythology. The
first similarity I found the two heroes shared was the love and honor their subjects regarded their kings
with. Theseus was revered for his strategic planning and how he used his power to create an equal
ruling between the power of the king and his people. He was acknowledged as one of the first leaders
to create a Democracy, allowing his people to have a say into how the kingdom is ruled. I myself, will
be your leader in wars, and at all times the protector of laws, but beyond this all my fellow citizens
shall have equal rights with me (216). By allowing the inhabitants of Attica to access part of the power
of the king, Theseus knew that his subjects would abide by this ruling because of the value and gain
they would receive from becoming a united community. I feel this peaceful treaty between the two
dynamics; the rich and the poor shows that Theseus was an intelligent and courageous king worthy of
the equal amounts of love and fear the king instilled in the city of Athens. The way Theseus resolved
the issue between the two class systems leads me to believe that Theseus admirers rigid structure and
control but since he is willing to give some of his power to the citizens of Athens in order to keep
peace, he became known as a peaceful ruler instead of a forceful tyrant.

Tumor-Associated Macrophages Case Study
Introduction
Tumor associated macrophages (TAMs) are a major cellular component of both mouse and human
tumors (Pollard, 2004;
Lewis and Pollard, 2006). High numbers of TAMs in human tumors usually correlate with reduced
patient survival (Bingle et al., 2002; Zhang et al., 2012), and studies in mice have shown that TAMs
promote important steps in tumor progression including tumor angiogenesis, cancer cell invasion,
metastasis, and the suppression of adaptive anti tumor immunity (Noy and
Pollard, 2014). TAMs also mediate or limit the efficacy of various forms of anti cancer therapies (De
Palma and Lewis, 2013).
Recent fate mapping experiments have shown that macrophages in steady state tissues can originate
from at least three
different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, TAM distribution can vary between different types of tumor, and between primary or
metastatic tumors (Lewis and Pollard, 2006). Importantly, across several types of human tumor, the
abundance of a distinct subset of PV macrophages has been shown to correlate with increased tumor
angiogenesis, distant metastasis, poor prognosis, and/or the recurrence of tumors after chemotherapy
in various forms of cancer (Kurahara et al., 2012; Matsubara et al., 2013; Robinson et al., 2009).
As discussed in later sections, the markers expressed by PV macrophages vary between primary and
metastatic tumors.
However, a unifying feature is their proximity to blood vessels
(sometimes making direct contact with endothelial cells or pericytes), or their preference for highly
vascularized tumor areas.
This contrasts with the majority of TAMs found elsewhere in tumors
(Lewis and Pollard, 2006). This review discusses recent studies demonstrating an array of tumor
promoting functions for PV macrophages in both primary and secondary tumors
(summarized in Figure 1).
Tumor Angiogenesis
A distinct subset of PV TAMs has been shown to regulate angiogenesis in various mouse primary
tumor models and to correlate with microvessel density in human tumors. BM transplant experiments
conducted by De Palma et al. (2003, 2005) identified a subset of BM derived TAMs that cluster
around tumor blood vessels and express higher levels of the angiopoietin receptor,
TIE2, and the mannose receptor,

The Theory Of Attachment Proposed By John Bowlby And Mary...
The lectures, discussions in class, and chapter readings highlighted the importance of one of the
characteristics of human nature, which is relationships and attachment. The course materials
emphasized the critical role of relationship and attachment to the development of the children. The
internship site also provided an opportunity for me to visualize different attachments and relationships
between parent and child in action. As the chapter readings from the textbook explore different
perspectives of relationship and attachment proposed by various theorists, the class discussions and
lectures furthered my understanding and knowledge of parent child relationships.
In chapter 3, the theory of attachment proposed by John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth is explored.
First, Bowlby s theory of attachment was influenced by the ethological theorist, Darwin, Lorenz, and
Tinbergen, who were previously mentioned in the chapter. Bowlby emphasized that behaviors found
in animals, such as seeking close proximity from mothers to reduce the chance of becoming a prey,
can also be found in toddlers. For example, Bowlby defined that actions such as following, crying out,
and clinging found in children are displayed in order to keep close distance to parents is called
attachment behaviors. Bowlby incorporates imprinting and instincts, which are ethological terms, to
explain different phases of attachment. As the child develops through time, the attachment of child and
parent deepens their

Essay on The Rise of Hitler
Adolf Hitler s rise to power as Chancellor of Germany and leader of the German people is often
portrayed as the result of a sweeping electoral victory. In reality Hitler s rise was incremental,
requiring (a patchwork of political support from) an assimilation of support from various
demographics as well as influential political figures. An area of perpetual historiographical debate is,
specifically, which demographic was more essential to Hitler s rise one school of thought maintains
the significance of the lower middle class in the (spread and rise to power of the) popularization of the

Comparing Plato, Descartes, And The Matrix
Plato, Descartes, and the Matrix
Latalvin Bullock
Liberty University
Is what I am seeing real or is it a figment of my imagination? Many people have found themselves
asking this question at some point in their life. This has been a subject that has been addressed by
many philosophers. In this paper the approach to this topic is centered on Plato s The Allegory of the
Cave and Descartes s Meditation I of The Things Which We May Doubt as compared to the movie
The Matrix. One of the most obvious similarities of the three passages is that they all call in to
question what reality is. In The Matrix reality is conceived through a computer. The computer
simulates the peoples perception of reality. They are not truly aware of their own reality because ...

But through their connection and manipulation of the computer they believe that what they are living
and seeing is real. When Neo agrees to take the red pill and follow Morpheus into the world of the
Matrix it disturbs him to see that people are living out a virtual reality that is not true reality. This calls
into question his own reality and was the life he was living real or imagined. Plato s Allegory of the
Cave also shows a distorted sense of reality. The prisoners believe that what they see through the
shadows is reality. Being tied by the fetters there is no way for them to see any other reality around
them. Based solely on what they see through the shadows are real to them. The shadows are an
artificial source of reality for the prisoners as the computer is an artificial source for those living in the
Matrix even though both the prisoners and those hooked to the computer feel that it is entirely real. In

The Dominance of Microsoft’s Xbox 360
The Dominance of Microsoft s Xbox 360
The video game market has slowly and steadily created a larger presence for itself in the entertainment
industry. The largest part of the market s recent growth (from 2005 to the present) is undeniably due in
part to the video game console created by Microsoft called the Xbox 360. Microsoft was the first
company to release what is called the current generation console, and successfully beat Sony out of
the gate. Prior to the release of the Xbox 360, Sony had dominated the market with their console, the
PlayStation 2. It is because of Microsoft s ongoing innovations to enhance player interactivity and

spurring advances in medical treatment. (Knight) Using the Kinect for real world applications,

Oftentimes, new teachers are provided with little to no professional guidance, and because of that,
nearly fifty percent of teachers leave the classroom within the first five years. This turnover rate not
only has an impact on kids, since they lose the person they were connected with, but it also costs the
nation roughly 7.4 billion dollars a year. This video, which focuses on the Hillsborough County Public
School System, in Tampa, Florida, brings to light the importance of mentor teachers for first and
second year teachers. Through the gathering of evidence and classroom observations, these mentor
teachers provide the passion for new teachers and help to unlock their potential. Since the
implementation of the mentor program their retention of new teachers has gone from 72% to 94%.

Use Of Literary Elements In Stephen King s On Writing
Authors use literary elements and techniques as tools to convey meaning. These devices are the means
by which authors bring richness and clarity to a text. They express moods or feelings that allow the
reader to connect with the writing. In On Writing, the author, Stephen King makes use of literary
elements to tell his story. The techniques King uses are effective in portraying vivid images and
feelings in the reader s mind. One example in which King uses such elements is early in the book.
King writes, Mary Karr presents her childhood in an almost unbroken panorama. Mine is a fogged out
landscape from which occasional memories appear like isolated trees .... the kind that look as if they
might like to grab and eat you (17). In the first sentence, King is describing the delightful grasp Mary
Karr has on her childhood. He depicts her memory as an unbroken panorama which creates the image
of a beautiful, wide view. The figurative language here is successful in expressing the totality of Mary
Karr s memoir, which King uses to differentiate his memory with. Next, he describes his memory as a
fogged out landscape , which conveys that his recollections are hazy and disjointed. King mentions
earlier that he lived an odd, herky jerky childhood, and moved around a lot in his earliest years. The
figurative language he uses is an another way of making this clear in the reader s mind. Then, King
uses the simile, like isolated trees to illustrate a barren image, which enforces

The expression I would die to look that good may be more literal then we thought. The word
narcissism derives from the greek story or Narcissus, a thespian who was the one of the blue nymph

Albert Fitch Bellows Oil Painting Down To The Brook
American 19th century painter Albert Fitch Bellows oil painting titled Down to the Brook portrays a
landscape that embodies tranquility and placidness. The artist paints in a romanticized style,
influenced by his studies of European art, while also being inspired by his contemporaries from the
Hudson River School, who focused on landscapes to display the divinity of nature. This painting was
finished in 1862, and Bellows painting process occurred at the same time as the American Civil War
raged. This serene and harmonic place contrasts what was transpiring in the United States at this time,
with intense battle and bloodshed. This painting shows a romantic, serene setting of a river and the

The light source originates from the right upper corner of the painting and is reflected off the leaves
and river, making the landscape glow. The river cuts through the middle of the piece, and appears to
be glowing directly under the tree from the reflection of the sky. The light source also creates shadow,
adding depth and space to the painting. The clouds appear to be light and feathery, adding on to the
tranquility of the place. There is an atmospheric, perspective element as the viewer looks toward the
left of the painting; the houses and hills begin to fade and blur out into the distance. The receding
objects give the painting more depth and space. This open space made between the trees and the
placement of the spire puts an emphasis on the possible religious characteristic of the work. Towards
the right of the painting, there is a church spire that is positioned in the back of many other trees
surrounding what appears to be a pathway. This open space between the trees and the placement of the

the religious undertones of the painting, and its ultimate significance in the work. This ethereal,

attitude were eager to contain it. The Kaiser sought out Schlieffen and directed him to devise a plan
that would allow Germany to gain power and assert itself as a dominant state. Because the Franco

countries and not the other. Instead, it would be forced to fight a two front war. Wilhelm II knew that

Why Indecision Is Wrong
To be indecisive is to abstain from making decisions repeatedly. One of the reasons indecision is so
debilitating is due to its habit forming nature, along with its transmission from person to person.
Indecision is the fear of choosing wrong, which is taken to the extreme when someone indecisive
forms this habit of indecision. This furthermore leads to failure due to procrastination and the cycle of
indecision begins over again. Indecision is the procrastination of making decisions; a procrastination
that is a habit formed by the self doubt, fear of choosing wrong, or failure inhibited in an indecisive
individual. Indecisions has not only a habit forming nature, it spreads from one person to another.

Buddhist Doctrine Of Karma Essay example
The Buddhist doctrine of karma ( quot;deeds quot;, quot;actions quot;), and the closely related
doctrine of rebirth, are perhaps the best known, and often the least understood, of Buddhist doctrines.
The matter is complicated by the fact that the other Indian religious traditions of Hinduism and
Jainism have their own theories of Karma and Reincarnation. It is in fact the Hindu versions that are
better known in the West. The Buddhist theory of karma and rebirth are quite distinct from their other
Indian counterparts.
In Buddhism the law of karma is the moral law of causation good actions give good results and vice
versa. It is the quality of an act, which determines its consequences. But what determines the karmic
quality of a deed? In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Buddhist theory of rebirth asserts that the fruits of some karma may manifest themselves in
quot;future lives quot;. This brings us to the Buddhist theory of rebirth. Similar concepts occur in
other religious systems e.g. the Platonic theory of the quot;pre existence of the soul quot; and the
Hindu Jain theory of re incarnation. Such reincarnation theory involves the transmigration of a soul. In
Buddhism, however, it is the unripened karmic acts outstanding at the death of an individual, which
conditions a new birth. The last moment of consciousness too is also a conditioning factor, but it is the
store of unripened karma generated by volitional acts (the sankhâras) of previous existences which
generates the destiny of the new individual. A newly born individual needs not only the genetic
blueprint derived from the genes of the natural parents, but also a karmic blueprint derived from the
volitional acts of a deceased person.
The question has been posed whether the new individual is the same as the old individual whose
karma it has inherited. The Buddha s answer to this question was somewhat enigmatic: quot;It is not
the same, yet it is not another quot; (na ca so, na ca añño). To understand the Buddha s reply we have
to investigate the criteria, which establish personal identity. Is the child the same as the

Tone Of Richard Cory
The poem Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson is about a rich man named Richard Cory.
Robinson uses Richard Cory and his appearance to show that not everything is as it may seem. He
uses his word choice, tone, and irony throughout the poem to show the theme, a theme that Cory was
not the man that all of the townspeople thought he was. The diction that the author uses in this poem
plays a great part in conveying the theme. This poem describes how all the people see Richard Cory.
He is portrayed as a gentleman from sole to crown (3). The people see him as an ideal man. People
want to be him. He was clean favored and imperially slim (4). The people of the town saw that Cory
was well groomed and even looked like royalty to them. The people could tell by the way he was
dressed that he was well off, that he had plenty of money. Though he wore nice clothing, he did not

Pop Art And The Art
Throughout the vast history of art, there have been many art movements that stand out and
revolutionize the art world. However, one movement stands out in particular and it is known as Pop
Art. Pop Art was invented by a few younger artists by the name of Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg,
and Roy Lichtenstein. It was brought about in the 1960s and it helped define a new form of American
Realism. Its origin was sort of a lash out against Abstract Expressionism, which was a style of
painting. The point of pop art was to represent life as most Americans lived it. It pointed out the
simple things that Americans find themselves caught up in in everyday life. Pop Art represented a
world focused around popular culture, which is basically what is hot in America at the time. Pop Art
brought about the reality that America revolved around the culture of things like Wall Street Finance
and Madison Avenue Advertising. It sort of presented the thought that maybe Americans weren t so
hard to get through to or to understand. Pop Art revealed the pop culture in America and made
beautiful art in return. It helped turn the page in the art world that was leaving traditional media, like
painting, in the wind.
Although there were many great artists to work with Pop Art like Claes Oldenburg and Roy
Lichtenstein, one that particularly stands out is Andy Warhol. Born in August of 1928 in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, Warhol was not among the most fortunate. Throughout his young life, Andy Warhol

transition in response to our changing society. Though there have been many problems raised
throughout the years in regard to what our school systems should be teaching our children, there have
also been many developments.
In the final decades of the 20th century, education has continued to evolve in order to meet society s
demands. The transformation of society has created numerous problems in the educational system.
These problems consist of the segregation of races, religions, social classes, and politics. In the earlier

force put such a high demand on education, but did not expand to accompany this high demand. The

the educational institutions rather than the citizens in the communities with higher taxes.
Toward the end of the 20th century and beginning of the 21st century, the American education system
has continued to evolve with some new curricular modifications. In 1992, the ?Children of the
Rainbow? curriculum was introduced in New York. This revolutionary curriculum required
elementary schools to teach tolerance towards gays and lesbians. Other new curricula proposals
centered around sexual education, which intended for schools to teach about family values,
abstinence, and sexually transmitted diseases, and methods of family planning. Another major issue
that the American school system was dealing with was nutrition and eating habits of youth. In 2002
the U.S congress passed the ?Obesity and Prevention Treatment Act?, to improve the eating habits in
the nation , where more than 60 percent of Americans are overweight.
Economic concerns and issues continue to plague the education system throughout the United States.

They ignored to claim the default to avoid the financial effect The accounting constraint of materiality
would indicate that this item could be recorded as an expense (more expedient) since it is not material
enough to influence the decision of a reasonably prudent creditor or investor(Weygand, 2009). Intel is
always constrained by agreements/ contracts with their lenders to pay from retained earnings.
Dividend is usually distributed to the owners in term profits. Intel may be constrained by the
requirements of other obligations of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Estimations and Assumptions to the Research Question
Accountants need to estimate the magnitude of the problem. Intel should use the management function
such as planning, controlling and directing the solution toward the problem. It is a quantities analysis
that needs measurement, facts, and common sense. The accountant always suggests mathematical
models based on statistics such as confident level, mean, variance, and correlation ration R square
(Weygandt, 2009). Intel might consider contingent theory to estimate a certain event of error. It is
probability of occurrence.
The FAS 5; accounting for contingencies is defined as an existing event/situation or group/set of
events involving some kind of uncertainty which may result in a gain or loss. This will be resolved
when future circumstances/event fail to take place/occur. Resolution may result in loss of an asset

Emergency Plumber And Roofing Research Paper
Keyword: Emergency Plumber Roofing service Tips to Choose an Emergency Plumber Roofing
service All homeowners will find the need to hire a professional plumber or a roofing contractor at one
point or another. It could be a storm that has damaged the roof where it is in need of emergency repair
to quickly get back life to normal. Also, it could be a plumbing problem that occurred suddenly which
needs to fixed before it causes major damage to the house. Either way though some minor repairs
could be done by homeowners with little knowledge and skills, most of the time many proofing and
plumbing problems require the skills of a professional plumber or roofing contractor. At such times, it
is necessary to choose a professional who is local and well qualified for the job. Equally important ...

Some offer the whole package whereas others offer specialized services in one or two areas. The best
way is to call the plumbing or roofing company that you are planning to consider and discuss about
the requirements before you agree to hire them or get a quote from them. A valuable tool is to reach
out to family, friends or neighbors for local referrals. Usually customers who are satisfied with a
professional plumber or a roofing company are likely to recommend their services to people whom
they know. So finding local referrals is a quick and reliable method to get the right plumber or roofing
contractor. Also, local plumbers and roofing contractors are the best choice as they would be familiar
with the local rules and regulations. Such companies also would know the local suppliers in the
community for repair parts and suppliers. Do not go by just one referral. Try to get at least three to
four referrals or recommendations from family or friends. Then check for reviews for all those
companies to find out, which is being recommended the most in your area or

Descriptive Football Essay
GOAL! , he scored. I was at my friends house, my face buried in the red, leather couch. In front of me
was a 65 inch Samsung television Me and my friend were playing FIFA on my XBOX and he was
destroying me so far. It was only the second minute and he s already scored. I was FC Barcelona and
he was Real Madrid. I had the legendary forward and he had the legendary FIFA skills. I was mad and
I really feld hurt after he scored. That was mostly because before we started the game we both agreed
that the winner would get 15 dollars. He also had a disadvantage in one key area , fortunately. That
was his formation. His formation was a 4 3 3 attack which was three forwards three midfielders, a left
back, a right back, two center backs, and one goalie. I had a 4 3 3 holding which meant that I had a
defensive midfield instead of just three plain old midfielders. Overall, this meant that. Madrid had the
ball and it was Modric, one of their midfielders who was dribbling. I made Sergio Busquets (
defensive midfield) do a slide tackle. The ball ricocheted on Modric s foot and went straight to
Ousmane Dembele ( left forward ). Then came the mind blowing moves. He dribbled past the midfield
and the forward. Then, he sombrero flicked Carvajal ( opposition s right back), nutmegged Sergio
Ramos ( opposition s center back). Then he shot. The goalie jumped and punched the ball. The ball
was over Dembele. What could he do. He decided to attempt a bicycle. The perfectly timed and
monitored shot

Writing By Omission By John Mcphee Summary
Try Greening That
The first article listed to read was Writing by Omission by John McPhee, which I found to be an
interesting lens to inspect the three pieces from the The Globe and Mail we chose to read. Out of the
four readings of the week, Writing by Omission was by far the most insightful. McPhee uses his own
tribulations as a writer in the industry to illustrate his notion that writing is selection. Every word,
paragraph, and chapter must be selected amongst a great arc of potentialities available to the writer,
and it is the author s grand task to carefully choose the most appropriate next piece.
McPhee recounts his time trying to select the best words to be left behind from his manuscripts and
what should be restored and what shouldn t be. The idea of greening a paper comes from his work at
Time, where the articles had to fit a specified number of lines. The authors were told to Green 5, and
had no choice but to comply by removing five entire lines from their work. The practice, McPhee
argues, forces the writer to make the most out of what they have and how making a piece tighter and
more restricted enhances its appeal. I can t help but wonder how many lines could be greened from my
own reflective papers, or my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Out of the three articles I read, I found this one the most inspiring. It was interesting that it wasn t
particularly about leadership or direct advice, but rather an aspirational tale about a boy s dreams to be
a pilot. Alan made his way through the corporate ranks and even successfully founded his own
company before leaving it all. In the end, he did make his way successfully climb into a commercial
pilot position, which was alluding to advice in the form of pursue what you want with your career. The
story itself was more sympathetic to my ears, as I myself don t particularly want to be swallowed
whole into the heartless corporate

  • 3. Strategic Planning Should Not Be Underestimated Introduction The importance of strategic planning should not be underestimated. Without proper strategic planning any organization is just waiting for unseen problems to interrupt normal business operations. Strategic planning helps the organization in short term goals and perhaps more importantly determine the items need for term success. I noticed that Abraham only talks about John Brown at the end of a very long speech very briefly, he does not show any respect to John Brown he only rubs it in that he died at his own phone. This makes me think Abraham Lincoln has no sympathy towards John Brown, especially because it is the day after his execution and he is basically insulting John Brown. Old John Brown has just been executed for treason against a state. We cannot object, even though he agreed with us in thinking slavery was wrong. That cannot excuse violence, bloodshed, and treason. I noticed that Abraham repeats the word treason . Treason is a crime of betraying one s country especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government. I think he uses the word to really justify that what John Brown did was inexcusable and that he committed a horrible crime and has betrayed the country. Beginning when I was a freshman in high school, and every year as part of our art classes, my instructor would do small units on art theory and highlight artists throughout those units, Kandinsky included. While my talents, in particular, are somewhat limited to what I can represent, Kandinsky was the first to break Western art s most important rule: that art need to depict anything (Frank, 396). As the first to break away from art being representational, Kandinsky opened other avenues of expression, as well (Wassily Kandinsky.org). • 17. Compare And Contrast Theseus And Oedipus While I was analyzing the two Greek heroes Theseus and Oedipus origins, it became obvious that they share quite a few differences and similarities as is common amongst heroes in Greek mythology. The first similarity I found the two heroes shared was the love and honor their subjects regarded their kings with. Theseus was revered for his strategic planning and how he used his power to create an equal ruling between the power of the king and his people. He was acknowledged as one of the first leaders to create a Democracy, allowing his people to have a say into how the kingdom is ruled. I myself, will be your leader in wars, and at all times the protector of laws, but beyond this all my fellow citizens shall have equal rights with me (216). By allowing the inhabitants of Attica to access part of the power of the king, Theseus knew that his subjects would abide by this ruling because of the value and gain they would receive from becoming a united community. I feel this peaceful treaty between the two dynamics; the rich and the poor shows that Theseus was an intelligent and courageous king worthy of the equal amounts of love and fear the king instilled in the city of Athens. The way Theseus resolved the issue between the two class systems leads me to believe that Theseus admirers rigid structure and control but since he is willing to give some of his power to the citizens of Athens in order to keep peace, he became known as a peaceful ruler instead of a forceful tyrant. ... Tumor-Associated Macrophages Case Study Introduction Tumor associated macrophages (TAMs) are a major cellular component of both mouse and human tumors (Pollard, 2004; Lewis and Pollard, 2006). High numbers of TAMs in human tumors usually correlate with reduced patient survival (Bingle et al., 2002; Zhang et al., 2012), and studies in mice have shown that TAMs promote important steps in tumor progression including tumor angiogenesis, cancer cell invasion, metastasis, and the suppression of adaptive anti tumor immunity (Noy and Pollard, 2014). TAMs also mediate or limit the efficacy of various forms of anti cancer therapies (De Palma and Lewis, 2013). Moreover, TAM distribution can vary between different types of tumor, and between primary or metastatic tumors (Lewis and Pollard, 2006). Importantly, across several types of human tumor, the abundance of a distinct subset of PV macrophages has been shown to correlate with increased tumor angiogenesis, distant metastasis, poor prognosis, and/or the recurrence of tumors after chemotherapy in various forms of cancer (Kurahara et al., 2012; Matsubara et al., 2013; Robinson et al., 2009). As discussed in later sections, the markers expressed by PV macrophages vary between primary and metastatic tumors. However, a unifying feature is their proximity to blood vessels (sometimes making direct contact with endothelial cells or pericytes), or their preference for highly vascularized tumor areas. This contrasts with the majority of TAMs found elsewhere in tumors (Lewis and Pollard, 2006). This review discusses recent studies demonstrating an array of tumor promoting functions for PV macrophages in both primary and secondary tumors (summarized in Figure 1). The lectures, discussions in class, and chapter readings highlighted the importance of one of the characteristics of human nature, which is relationships and attachment. The course materials emphasized the critical role of relationship and attachment to the development of the children. The internship site also provided an opportunity for me to visualize different attachments and relationships between parent and child in action. As the chapter readings from the textbook explore different perspectives of relationship and attachment proposed by various theorists, the class discussions and lectures furthered my understanding and knowledge of parent child relationships. In chapter 3, the theory of attachment proposed by John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth is explored. First, Bowlby s theory of attachment was influenced by the ethological theorist, Darwin, Lorenz, and Tinbergen, who were previously mentioned in the chapter. Bowlby emphasized that behaviors found in animals, such as seeking close proximity from mothers to reduce the chance of becoming a prey, can also be found in toddlers. For example, Bowlby defined that actions such as following, crying out, and clinging found in children are displayed in order to keep close distance to parents is called attachment behaviors. Many people have found themselves asking this question at some point in their life. This has been a subject that has been addressed by many philosophers. In this paper the approach to this topic is centered on Plato s The Allegory of the Cave and Descartes s Meditation I of The Things Which We May Doubt as compared to the movie The Matrix. One of the most obvious similarities of the three passages is that they all call in to question what reality is. In The Matrix reality is conceived through a computer. This calls into question his own reality and was the life he was living real or imagined. Plato s Allegory of the Cave also shows a distorted sense of reality. The prisoners believe that what they see through the shadows is reality. Being tied by the fetters there is no way for them to see any other reality around them. Based solely on what they see through the shadows are real to them. These devices are the means by which authors bring richness and clarity to a text. They express moods or feelings that allow the reader to connect with the writing. In On Writing, the author, Stephen King makes use of literary elements to tell his story. The techniques King uses are effective in portraying vivid images and feelings in the reader s mind. One example in which King uses such elements is early in the book. King writes, Mary Karr presents her childhood in an almost unbroken panorama. Mine is a fogged out landscape from which occasional memories appear like isolated trees .... the kind that look as if they might like to grab and eat you (17). In the first sentence, King is describing the delightful grasp Mary Karr has on her childhood. He depicts her memory as an unbroken panorama which creates the image of a beautiful, wide view. The figurative language here is successful in expressing the totality of Mary Karr s memoir, which King uses to differentiate his memory with. Next, he describes his memory as a fogged out landscape , which conveys that his recollections are hazy and disjointed. King mentions earlier that he lived an odd, herky jerky childhood, and moved around a lot in his earliest years. The figurative language he uses is an another way of making this clear in the reader s mind. Then, King uses the simile, like isolated trees to illustrate a barren image, which enforces ... The matter is complicated by the fact that the other Indian religious traditions of Hinduism and Jainism have their own theories of Karma and Reincarnation. It is in fact the Hindu versions that are better known in the West. The Buddhist theory of karma and rebirth are quite distinct from their other Indian counterparts. Such reincarnation theory involves the transmigration of a soul. In Buddhism, however, it is the unripened karmic acts outstanding at the death of an individual, which conditions a new birth. The last moment of consciousness too is also a conditioning factor, but it is the store of unripened karma generated by volitional acts (the sankhâras) of previous existences which generates the destiny of the new individual. A newly born individual needs not only the genetic blueprint derived from the genes of the natural parents, but also a karmic blueprint derived from the volitional acts of a deceased person. • 43. Descriptive Football Essay GOAL! , he scored. I was at my friends house, my face buried in the red, leather couch. In front of me was a 65 inch Samsung television Me and my friend were playing FIFA on my XBOX and he was destroying me so far. It was only the second minute and he s already scored. I was FC Barcelona and he was Real Madrid. I had the legendary forward and he had the legendary FIFA skills. I was mad and I really feld hurt after he scored. That was mostly because before we started the game we both agreed that the winner would get 15 dollars. He also had a disadvantage in one key area , fortunately. That was his formation. His formation was a 4 3 3 attack which was three forwards three midfielders, a left back, a right back, two center backs, and one goalie. I had a 4 3 3 holding which meant that I had a defensive midfield instead of just three plain old midfielders. Overall, this meant that. What could he do. He decided to attempt a bicycle. The perfectly timed and monitored shot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Out of the four readings of the week, Writing by Omission was by far the most insightful. McPhee uses his own tribulations as a writer in the industry to illustrate his notion that writing is selection. Every word, paragraph, and chapter must be selected amongst a great arc of potentialities available to the writer, and it is the author s grand task to carefully choose the most appropriate next piece. McPhee recounts his time trying to select the best words to be left behind from his manuscripts and what should be restored and what shouldn t be. The idea of greening a paper comes from his work at Time, where the articles had to fit a specified number of lines. The authors were told to Green 5, and had no choice but to comply by removing five entire lines from their work. The practice, McPhee argues, forces the writer to make the most out of what they have and how making a piece tighter and more restricted enhances its appeal. I can t help but wonder how many lines could be greened from my own reflective papers, or my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Out of the three articles I read, I found this one the most inspiring. It was interesting that it wasn t particularly about leadership or direct advice, but rather an aspirational tale about a boy s dreams to be a pilot. Alan made his way through the corporate ranks and even successfully founded his own company before leaving it all. In the end, he did make his way successfully climb into a commercial pilot position, which was alluding to advice in the form of pursue what you want with your career. The story itself was more sympathetic to my ears, as I myself don t particularly want to be swallowed whole into the heartless corporate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
