The Corruption Of The Form Of Government In Bangladesh
In state government is one of the most important elements. Without a government, a state cannot be
formed. The government may be changeable and can be formed in different types. There are many
different types of government which can be seen in different states in the world. The thinkers have
argued the classification in a different way at different times. Lots of discussions have been taken part
over the form of governments. They mainly focused on that which form is the best one among all the
forms of government. Every form of government is different from another. As a consequence, it is
very difficult to pin down the single factor that most closely ties to goodness. The form of government
s values may determine its agreeability to a particular individual or group. On the contrary, its
corruptibility determines how likely it is to adhere to those values in the real world when subjects to
the rigor of human nature. Bangladesh government history and government system : Political
governance in Bangladesh began with the independence from Pakistan in 1971. Before that in 1947
the subcontinent became independent. On the basis of religion issues Bangladesh and Pakistan
separated from India and Bangladesh became the victim of Pakistan in every feild. To get rid of this
domination people of Bangladesh planned to make a political party. On 23 June, 1949 Awami Mulsim
League was established . Awami Muslim League played a very important role in language movement
in 1952. Awami

Reading Loftus Article On Celebrities
John Wooden once said that Talent is God given. Be humble. Fame is man given. Be grateful. Conceit
is self given. Be careful. This was a powerful quote me because celebrities experience a lot of things
that we don t know about. If the bloggers, paparazzi or the celebrity themselves aren t talking about
what s going on in there day to day life, we wouldn t know what is going on with them. But we only
get a snippet in their lives, we don t know what happens behind closed doors. Reading Loftus article
made me put myself in a celebrity shoes. I thought about the things that wouldn t be able to deal with

The Vs. Static Budgeting Essay
When we compare the static budget with the actual results, there has been a decrease of 2000 cart
rentals, which cause $50,000 unfavorable variance. Moreover, there is an unfavorable variance of
$200 from the static budget and this is due to the increase in the Labor cost. But when it comes to the
gas and oil there has been a decrease, which cause $1100 favorable variance. So the difference
between the actual operating profits and the static budgeting for April is $49100 ($50,000U + $200U
$1100F). In my opinion almost of all the differences between the actual operating profits and the static
budgeting for April is due to the reduced cart rentals from 6000 to 4000. When we compare the
flexible budget with the actual results, there is an unfavorable variance of $200, this is due to the
increase in the Labor cost and also there is an unfavorable variance of $900 from the flexible budget
and this is because gas and oil were over the budget. In the case of flexible budget, labor, gas and oil
were over the budget which cause unfavorable variance of $1100 ($200 + $900). The $200
unfavorable variance in labor is probably insignificant and the $900 gas and oil difference is likely a
timing difference between when the gas and oil are purchased and when they are actually used.

More accurate when compare to the static budget

The Passionate Shepherd And The Nymph s Reply
The two poems of The Passionate Shepherd and The Nymph s Reply show contrasting views on love,
nature, time, and the material world. The Passionate Shepherd shows more about a positive and naive
view while in contrast, The Nymph s Reply is more about a negative and realistic view. The shepherd
gave details that idealized the natural world while the nymph criticized his ideal world. According to
the shepherd, love is innocent. In his eyes, nothing will ever change or be unpleasant. When he says
for thy delight each may morning , he describes the joy and satisfaction that he would feel every day if
she were there with him. The nymph is more careful and reluctant to go because she knows that the
things he offers, will not last forever.

Symbolism In Pan s Labyrinth
The film Pan s Labyrinth is a fairy tale told with the confines of reality. It is the story of a young girl,
Ofelia, living in post Civil War Spain under the oppression and structure of her step father, the
Captain. Ofelia walks a fine line between this harsh world and one of fantastia with the hopes of fully
joining it. Throughout the film, Ofelia s shoes are used as a motif, representing her rebellion towards
society s order as she completes three tasks. Before Ofelia starts out on her first task of reclaiming a
key from the stomach of a giant toad, her mother makes the young girl a beautiful green dress and
gifts her a pair of new black party shoes. She tells her daughter that, when she wears the outfit, she
will look like a Princess.

Clay Bust Analysis
Most of my pieces have everything to do with personal inspiration, and ideas that I ended up coming
with from either reference photos or my very own imagination. I Intended on focusing my creativity
on detail and perseverance, there were times during the clay bust project where my project fell apart or
cracked numerous times, and I had to struggle a bit to piece it back together. As I began my clay bust
project, I came in with various ideas and motivations that eventually morphed into my final piece. I
started with jotting ideas that included; Anime sculpting, Alien faces, and Women Facial structures.
Eventually, I decided on the Alien piece and began sculpting. I mentioned earlier how I faced certain
troubles when dealing with my piece, including it falling apart when having to take out the ... Show

It gives me an idea what struggle looks like in a sense, since it fell apart numerous times and I spent
an extra amount of time trying to perfect it. My intended audience could be people who aren t really
expecting a surprise, and then they re introduced to my piece and have a different reaction that reflects
the personality of the piece. For example, they would see it and automatically think that it s some kind
of bird creature, and it ll keep people guessing and thinking, yet they won t be able to turn away from
the piece. Most of the rest of my pieces are very abstract, and detailed, which is where I believe my
bust sculpture fits in perfectly. Besides the amount of time put into this specific piece, I believe that
the amount of detail, tone, and color added onto it also relates to the rest of my pieces, for example my
clay mask sculpture which included two different colors, yet it I added detail throughout both of them
to show facial expressions and setting the tone for each individual

Saudi Arabia And The Middle East Essay
Although rocky at times the U.S. relationship with Saudi Arabia is extremely important aspect in U.S.
foreign policy in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia is a major power player within the Middle East due to
its massive oil reserves and direct influence on Islam throughout the region. Various culture aspects of
Saudi Arabia, its spread of Wahhabism and allegations of terrorist links has led to Saudi Arabia being
under direct fire on the international stage. Scott Shane, author of the New York times article Saudi
and Extremism: Both the Arsonist and the Firefighter uses the phrases arsonist and firefighter to draw
a connection to the idea that the Saudi s past and present actions are a direct source to the current
problems that the country faces. The Saudi s secular teachings of Islam, alleged indirect funding of
terrorism and spread of anti western teachings around the Middle East are the highlighted points to
what Shane believes makes the Saudi s arsonist in the region. Moreover, to the same point the Saudi
govt. and high ranking officials attempt to combat the very things that there kingdom has either
directly or indirectly contributed towards making them firefighters . In contrast the counter argument
that Saudi Arabia is neither the arsonist nor firefighter can be developed due to the limited direct
linkage of Saudi Arabia both abroad and in the Middle East.

Saudi s teaching of Islam focus on a branch called Wahhabism, which is a division of Sunni

The Meaning Of Modern Art By Terrence Malild
In chapters two and three of The Meaning of Modern Art, Karsten Harries describes two ways that the
relationship between man and nature is understood, and how these understandings are evident in the
changing artistic styles and philosophical themes of the time. Harries describes two ways of seeing
man s relationship with nature. Either nature is beneath man s reason, and thus art must reconstruct
nature in the image of reason or man s relationship with nature is one of intense conflict, in which
time and nature conquer man, and only by submitting to nature s oppressive force can man find some
victory (Harries 17). In the latter view man is able to escape into his own self and there hear the voices
of the gods; in the midst of life he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not long after, they have constructed a colony that is utterly separated from the natural world by a
wall, and inside, they have trampled all the grass and wildlife into mud. The man from Europe, with
his ideas of order and reason, has violently imposed himself onto nature in the Cartesian tradition. Yet
Malick does not present this as the only option. Even as the ships are arriving in America, we see the
natives looking out at the oncoming Cartesians in their vast and geometric ships through a field of
trees. Quite literally, the natives perceive the world through the lens of nature. They see things through
and among the trees and the wildlife. They are actively immersed in nature, living in harmony with it.
At one point, we see Pocahontas, one of the natives, dancing in an open field with her brother, simply
enjoying the glory of nature, allowing the beauty of life to live through her playfulness and simplicity.
Instead of trampling the grass and chopping down the trees, the natives dance among them, as if
nature was a dear friend. A colonists even remarks that the natives are timid like a herd of curious deer
, implying that he sees their harmony with nature, but because he views nature as beneath man, there
is a sense of disgust in his words. This is one of the many contrasts between the natives and the
colonists in the film. One of the most striking contrasts Malick illustrates is in the way each uses

Essay On Energy Recovery
Energy Recovery
Anaerobic treatment gives a high potential of energy recovery from wastewater in form of biogas. The
effluent can also serve industrial heating and cooling purposes. Wastewater has a huge potential of
electricity generation. Technologies exist for on site energy recovery through sludge/biosolids
treatment processes integrated in wastewater treatment plants, allowing for transition from major
energy consumers to energy producers.
Strict standards for discharge often require energy intensive advanced treatment technologies. As a
result, the number of plants using advanced treatment has increased [17]. Rising energy costs and
concerns about greenhouse gas generation present a major incentive for tracking energy usage of ...

Biogas is a mixture essentially comprising mostly methane (CH4, around 55 75%) but also contains
carbon dioxide (CO2, around 25 30%), varying quantities of water (H2O) and hydrogen sulphide
(H2S). The thermal energy available from the methane contained in biogas is about 6 to 8 kWh/m3.
This corresponds to half a litre of diesel oil and 5.5 kg of firewood [21].
4.2 Microbial Fuel Cell Technology
Wastewater treatment is an energy intensive process, consuming about 1,900 kJ/m3 of treated
wastewater [22]. Wastewater contains almost 9 times more energy than the energy used to treat an
equivalent volume, thus creating the need to harness this energy through the use of a Microbial Fuel
Cell (MFC) [22]. Microbial Fuel cell (MFC) is a device designed for electricity generation in the
process of wastewater treatment [23]. Microbial fuel cell is a new form of renewable energy, which
uses bacteria in wastewater to convert organic matter into electricity, while simultaneously treating the
wastewater. MFCs can provide an answer to several of the problems which traditional wastewater
treatment faces. They enable the recovery of energy out of the wastewater, while limiting both the
energy input and the excess sludge production [24].
5.0 Nutrient recovery
Wastewater nutrients are resources that can generate revenues for treatment plants while helping meet
environmental regulations. Wastewater and municipal sludge, can be a reliable source of nutrients, in

A Detective With Whoville Police Department
I am a Detective with Whoville Police Department. I have full police powers and investigate all cases
within the city of Whoville. I investigate all crimes and have county and state recourses available for
assistance.
The first step in the investigation took place when the general manager of the D M food store called
the police department to speak with someone in reference to possible employee theft. On February 2,
2016 at 1330 hours, I met with Hugh Downs. He explained to me that he suspected his part time
assistant manager, Lowraine James of theft.
As the detective assigned to the case, I immediately began an investigation. I asked if the food store
had cameras that I could view to see if anything can be seen. I also inquired as to whether the
computer history could be checked by appropriate IT personnel.
On February 3, 2016, I began reviewing video footage of L. James s work shift. While viewing the
footage, I noticed over the course of James work shift, she would stash cash on the side of the cash
register after ringing up several purchases from customers. At the end of her work shift while James
was counting monies in the cash drawer, she would separate the money and place some of the money
in a bank deposit bag and place the previously stashed cash in a brown paper bag. On several
occasions, I also noticed when L. James worked an evening shift, she would carry a medium size box
and place it in the trunk of her vehicle prior to the end of her work shift. This took

Throughout reading Sean Covey s 7 Habits of HIghly Effective Teens you made undergo
modifications in your own life if you are considering the life changing statements he made. The
purpose of this book was to inspire and change young adults habits that they have conjured up. I have
actually been able to apply some of these habits in my own life.He has taught me and some of my
classmates many lesson as we have read and overviewed the text. These principles or habits have
taught me about a healthy relationship, how to make smarter choices for my life, trusting that I have
self worth, and how to make me and my parents relationship better. When people talk about being
proactive they are most likely referring to the first habit in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. This
chapter is about controlling your responses to certain situations. For instance if you are in a tough
position instead of overreacting and handling a difficult situation badly you could calm down and
thoroughly think your response out.If you look in the listen to your language section it says, You can
tell the difference between proactive and reactive people by the language they use. This is true just by
the way you sound you can tell how people will react to a situation. This habit is crucial when it
comes to problem solving and if you end up in a bad situation. You can not control what happens to
you but you can control how you react. If you apply these concepts to your life things will not be as
complicated.

The And Its Impact On Society
1. Zakaria argues that societies are going through democratization where closed systems are becoming
more open. Therefore, now social change is originating from the masses unlike in the past. Today
democracy is not just a form of government it is a way of life. For example, a singer that is more
popular is also more successful. Large groups of people are what create change. Even capitalism is
becoming more democratic.
2. Zakaria defines constitutional liberalism as the goals of government such as protecting the rights of
its citizens. In contrast, democracy refers to a government who is elected through free and public
elections.
Chapter 1
3. Although some argue that the concept of liberty first originated in Ancient Greece, Zakaria argues
that liberty first arose after the rise of the Catholic Church. As the Catholic Church s influence grew
throughout Europe, some began to rebel. These reformers such as John Calvin or Martin Luther broke
away from the church which resulted in the Reformation. However, after the Reformation followed
the Enlightenment which truly led to established liberty. People rebelled again authoritarian rule in
both the American and French Revolution. These revolution led people to recreate their government
structures. As a result, governments that promised to protect the rights of its citizens were created in
both France and the newly established United States of America.

You can take shots from the back of the head, half face and side of the face to come up with incredible
images that also feature the background.
Look for a Couple Taking an Awkward Selfie
To use this method appropriately, you have to know the exact kind of picture you want. You can help
to capture a photo of a couple that is confused on how to take selfies and let them observe your
movement to make sure they take the same exact shot of you. Since they already have an incredible
photo of them from you, they will take time to produce a picture that will make you happy.
Video Screenshots
This technique may seem complicated as it takes quick photos, but it s great if you need a variety to of
photos. You can upload the video on a computer and take screenshots of the frames that you like, crop
and then edit to upload it as a photo. Videos are fantastic as you can do actions that you would not do
when holding a phone. Some cameras have 4K photography function that enables the camera to take
about 150 photos in about 5 seconds with little motion blur.
SloMo Screenshots
SloMo videos are ideal for still pictures compared to actual videos. It is a great idea for things that
move fast such as waterfalls and animals. You can later edit the photos and get to frame your favorite
shots. You can mount your phone where you are sure to get the right angle to get perfect shots of Slow
Mo by yourself.

The Changing View of Man, The Cosmos and His Place
Throughout the middle ages, people have viewed the cosmos as a basis for the social order here on
Earth. The celestial layers were representations of the medieval society and the church. The hierarchy
of the Kings and Pope over their subjects was justified by the hierarchy of the heavenly bodies; it was
considered natural and no one questioned it because it has been like that for so long. Medieval life was
centered on God, abiding by the doctrines of the Catholic Church, and the strengthening of faith.
Arts and literature in the medieval age featured divine and supernatural beings that promoted the
power and influence of the church. Spiritual and religious themes were constantly the subject of
paintings, sculptures, and literary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The transition of the pre modern to modern outlook was shown in King Lear, one of the most famous
of Shakespeare s plays. Ever since, the king was at the top of the medieval society, after him the lords
and nobles, knights, merchants, and peasants at the very bottom, but this will no longer be the case
when Lear s daughters decided that they wanted to be equal in power with the king. Traditionally,
children were supposed to honor and respect their father and mother, but for Goneril and Regan, Lear
s wicked daughters, they were only interested in their own individual interests, a demonstration of
very modern values. Cordelia was the only daughter who followed duties and kept to her proper place.
The storm at the heath also represented chaos and instability because the natural order of things was
disrupted with the king losing his rank and authority by being reduced to a crazy peasant. His journey
to madness symbolized his own transformation and a change of perspective in the way he looked at
life.
Again, this shift in thinking follows through in Niccollo Machiavelli s The Prince, on his idea that a
person is responsible for his own destiny and can become powerful gaining himself a high position of
power with the use of his own skill and intelligence. Those who become princes by virtue of their
abilities acquire dominion with difficulty but maintain it with ease (Prince, pg.30). He favored the
republic more than the monarchy due to his reasoning that

James Coleman s Equality Of Educational Opportunity

did disturb various dogmatic slumbers and vested interests. And 50 years on, it is pertinent to today s
political debates about class and social mobility. So, let us now praise an insufficiently famous man,
sociologist James Coleman, author of the study Equality of Educational Opportunity. In 1966, postwar
liberalism s confidence reached its apogee. From 1938, when the electorate rebuked Franklin
Roosevelt for his plan to pack the Supreme Court, through 1964, congressional Republicans and
conservative Democrats prevented a liberal legislating majority. But Johnson s 44 state victory that

Mass Incarceration In Ww2
In the face of mass incarceration and genocide during World War II, the Jews of Central Europe had
few options for safe living space. The Nazi campaign against the Jewish people as well as the other
races deemed degenerate by the former party ensured that further residence in Europe was not an
option. Additionally, Britain had become an unviable recourse. Initially, its officials had welcomed the
Jewish refugees before World War II as they fled the political upheaval in Germany. The war,
however, convinced Parliament to forbid further immigration; furthermore, it committed to an
aggressive internment policy against German, Austrian, and Italian Jews. Like Britain, the United

Hippo Pathway Lab Report
Regulation of the Hippo YAP Pathway by G Protein Coupled Receptor Signaling Review Lee
Stunkard Organ size regulation has continued to remain elusive. Recently, the Hippo pathway has
been proposed to be involved in organ size regulation. The Hippo pathway regulates the size of organs
through controlling cell number. A major downstream effector of the Hippo pathway is the
transcription coactivator Yes associated protein (YAP). YAP is responsible for upregulating genes that
promote cell proliferation and downregulating genes that promote cell apoptosis. Elongated
upregulation of YAP leads to hyperplasia and tumor formation. YAP is inhibited by Lats 1/2 through

Cell growth, migration, proliferation and mRNA levels of YAP regulated genes were tested using LPA
treated cells that had YAP/TAZ knockdown. Cell growth, migration, proliferation and mRNA levels of
YAP regulated genes were all significantly repressed compared to the controls suggesting that LPA
acts through YAP/TAZ. Similar to YAP, TAZ was shown to localize in the nuclear fractions of cells in
immunofluorescence experiments. MST 1/2 and Lats 1/2 levels were tested in response to LPA
treatment. LPA was shown to inhibit Lats 1/2 but not MST 1/2 in immunoblot experiments. Then to
test how LPA and S1P were modulating YAP/TAZ immunoblotting experiments were utilized. LPA
and S1P were found to modulate YAP/TAZ through G protein coupled receptor signaling and Rho

were only slightly involved in dephosphorylating YAP/TAZ. On the other hand, Gs receptors had the

A major topic being discussed in gun control today has to do with how mental illness factors into these
shootings and what should be done pertaining to mental health gun restrictions. The general public
seems to favor the idea of increasing the reporting of mental illness in background check databases
and limiting the ability of those with mental illness from gaining access to guns. In an article by James
D. Calvert PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist and lecturer in the Department of Psychology at
Southern Methodist University, cites a recent study done by The New England Journal of Medicine
that found that both gun owners, and those who don t own a gun agree that mental health providers
should be required to report those who have threatened to hurt themselves, or others to a background
database (Calvert, 76). Another article written by Jeffrey W. Swanson, PhD., a lecturer in the
Department of Psychiatry at Duke University, discusses how the public bases its information on what
it learns from sources in the media, which reinforces the public s perception of a strong link between
mental illness and violence. (Swanson, 169). This perception then also helps creates a fear of people
with mental illness and makes those with such problems afraid to seek voluntary treatment. The
scapegoating of those with mental illness is believed by many doctors and researchers to influence

Fidel Castro s Courtroom Defense Speech
This speech history will absolve me was Fidel Castro s courtroom defense speech, where he displayed
exemplary oratory skills, which made him famous. He was on trial for initiating a revolution against
Batista s dictatorship in 1953; he was sentenced to a jail term of fifteen years. Fidel Castro was later
released after twenty months due to public pressure, and within six years he walked into Havana at the
head of the Cuban Revolution. History has it that this was a four hours speech at the Court of Appeals
of Santiago de Cuba. History should absolve Fidel Castro. His speech was powerful, moving and
addressed the issues that plagued the nation. This paper shall seek to defend most of his ideologies,
explain the importance and relevance of the speech.
Fidel Castro in his speech portrayed the government as a very corrupt institution, in his words, he said
that the entire government comprised of wolves and individual that of coward countenance; this was
because he had been denied any legal aids. His demands for justice fell entirely on deaf years.
According to Fidel Castro the head of the Government Batista was a man full of treachery because he
had led a coup against the then president Gerardo. Why was he being condemned for doing the same,
especially when all he was doing was defending the rights of the innocent? Fidel Castro portrayed a
very brave nature and had lived as one of the most adored personalities in the history of mankind
(Conceived, 2012).

In A Gate At The Stairs Character Analysis
The Similarity of Two Different Lives Sometimes we question ourselves; do we ever really come to
age? Or do we just stay the same all our lives? In a Gate at the Stairs, Moore creates a character
named Tassie who overcomes plenty of coming of age moments by being, strong, worried, and
curious. A naïve character can get through a lot of barriers with strength, and Tassie has all these
character traits. Tassie lives in a world where she has to put her life on hold and care for a child in a
different family, just like how I have to put my family on hold and deal with school, swimming, and
balancing money. Though, I am only an eighteen year old and Tassie is a twenty year old, we are kind
of like the same person. The two of us try to overcome every obstacle with using our senses and with
our characteristics and in order to do this you have to grow up and become the person who makes the
best out of you. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is faced with plenty of obstacles but I think her going through a tough process with Sarah who is a
women she wants to nanny for is trying to adopt a baby throughout the first half of A Gate at the Stairs

every mother walking into an adoption agency, such as the awkwardness, nervousness and
worriedness a mother has walking into the agency and trying to buy a baby. Tassie is brought to all the
meetings so the birth mother can get an idea of who will be taking care of her baby when Sarah
cannot, and she is nervous but you have to get over it sometimes, you have to be that strong wall
keeping Sarah up straight and relaxed. The next question is do we ever really come of age as a

T-Lymphotropic Virus, Kaposi s Sarcoma
Viral Oncology is the study of virus caused cancers. These cancers include Adult T cell Leukemia,
Kaposi s Sarcoma, Cervical Carcinoma, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, and Burkitt s Lymphoma. Viruses
that can cause cancer are known as oncoviruses. Known oncoviruses are: Hepatitis B and C (HBV and
HCV, respectively), Human T Lymphotropic Virus (HTLV I), Human papillomavirus (HPV), Kaposi s
Sarcoma Associated Herpesvirus (HHV 8), and Epstein Barr Virus (EBV). Viruses, after entering a
host cell, integrates its genome with the host cell s DNA using the enzyme reverse transcriptase.
During normal DNA replication, the virus genome will be replicated to produce more viral particles.

The cancer is usually seen in HIV positive patients because HIV weakens the immune system, making
the infected susceptible to uncommon or rare pathogens. Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is a cancer that
develops from the cells that line lymph or blood vessels. It usually appears as tumors on the skin or on
mucosal surfaces such as inside the mouth, but tumors can also develop in other parts of the body,
such as in the lymph nodes (bean sized collections of immune cells throughout the body), the lungs, or
digestive tract. KS can cause serious problems or even become life threatening when the lesions are in
the lungs, liver, or digestive tract. KS in the digestive tract, for example, can cause bleeding, while
tumors in the lungs may cause trouble breathing. A person infected with HIV (that is, who is HIV
positive) does not necessarily have AIDS. The virus can be present in the body for a long time, often
many years, before causing major illness. The disease known as AIDS begins when the virus has
seriously damaged the immune system, which results in certain types of infections or other medical
complications, including KS. When HIV damages the immune system, people who also are infected
with a certain virus (the Kaposi sarcoma associated herpes virus or KSHV) are more likely to develop

Should The United States Have A High Standard Of Living
The United States today is known as an industrialized nation. This means that we have a high standard
of living. However, there are many countries that do not have a high standard of living and they are
called developing nations. Many things could keep them from becoming a developed nation such as
no international trade, lack of factories, and a lack of tariffs. High Standard nations have international
trade. International trade would be the ones who participate in importing and exporting goods.
Without international trade a country may not have as high of a standard of living. Without
international trade a country is going to have to produce all of the good and serviced by itself. I would
not be able to trade with another country for what

School Uniforms Mandatory Research
The topic of whether or not school uniforms should be allowed has always been highly debated. The
reason why it is such a hot topic is because it pertains to a student s individuality and the possible
benefits they may bring. This is something that has sparked a bit of friction in the education world.
Hours and hours of research have been poured into this subject in order to find a definitive answer. If
the research has proved anything, it is that school uniforms are ineffective and they restrict self
expression. Contrary to popular belief, school uniforms do not provide the benefits that many claim
they do. School uniforms simply don t work in the real world. Now some may feel inclined to disagree
that uniforms are ineffective. Those that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

money wisely, schools truly can improve safety, academics and maintain the satisfaction of their
students. All schools should take the initiative of removing school uniforms and finding solutions that

Rhetorical Analysis Of Anti-Smoking Cigarettes
For a long time now, many people have had different views about smoking cigarettes. It was only
decades ago that people were smoking a pack of cigarettes a day, thinking there would be no
consequences. As time progressed, smoking cigarettes was discovered to have harmful, lasting effects
that could also lead to major health problems, and possibly death. During this time, countless of anti
smoking advertisements soon appeared, often showing the harmful effects of smoking through
grotesque and shocking depictions. However, there are some anti smoking advertisements that use
different methods in trying to convey their message. Truth, best known by their website theTruth.com,
is an anti tobacco campaign that released a black and white advertisement depicting a young man
smoking a cigarette, with the smoke from it forming an image of a gun pointed to the head of the man.
At first glance, the advertisement is just seen as a regular anti smoking advertisement informing non
smokers of the consequences of smoking, but by various rhetorical devices as well as distinctive and
influential images, the advertisement effectively communicates the impending sense of danger and
persuasively advocates the deadliness of smoking cigarettes to both non smokers and smokers by
connecting smoking with death. Accordingly, the advertisement was created to stir up a reaction from
its audience, which includes both non smokers and smokers. The advertisement, in its entirety, is
designed to appeal to

Maternal Age Stillbirth
Maternal Age and Risk of Stillbirth As with most complication of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and
congenital defects, the maternal age plays a key role. In particular, mothers who are age 35 and older
statistically have the highest rates of incidence in complications. Conversely, teen pregnancies also
comprise a substantial portion of the difficulties seen during pregnancy as well as the effects on the
developing fetus.
Description of the Study The study was conducted to determine what correlation maternal age has on
the occurrence of stillbirth. This study was conducted in the United States on over 37 million births
over a period of ten years. The population of the United States included only the continental states as
well as Alaska and Hawaii. US territories were excluded from the study.
The women in this study were separated into age groups as follows; less than 15 years, 15 19 years, 20

This may help reduce the occurrence of high risk pregnancies associated to maternal age. Should the
patient continue with their efforts to conceive, proper patient education would include the necessity
for adequate and frequent prenatal care during the pregnancy. The benefits of timely prenatal care is of
the utmost priority for the mother as well as the fetus. Finally, knowing the age of the patient and the
complications associated with that particular age group would allow the nurse to provide
individualized care during labor and delivery as well as post partum care. Prevention of fetal demise is
the goal of all high risk pregnancies in addition to maintaining the health of the mother. Extensive

4.) The physician is planning to place a percutaneous central line to infuse TPN. Which site is
recommend and why?
A percutaneous central line is entered into the patient s subclavian vein. Because TPN solution is
concentrated it is better to have CVC access in the subclavian vein so the solution has less distance to
travel to its destination. This reduces the risk of the line clotting or damaging the vein.
4b.) What are the nurse s responsibilities for placement of the central line?
The nurse is responsible for positioning the patient and should assess the patient throughout to see
how well he is tolerating it. If the patient is on a heart monitor, the nurse should monitor vital signs
and heart rate as the catheter is being put in for any fluctuations. Afterword s, the nurse should assess
for complications or adverse reactions like pneumothorax. Make the patient comfortable and listen to
bilateral breath sounds. Obtain a stat XRAY to verify correct placement.

Description Of Sickle Cell Anemia
Sickle cell anemia is a genetic disorder. The way it affects the human is that it causes red blood cells
to become rigid and sticky. Red blood cells are normally round and easily move through blood
vessels. However when a person has sickle cell anemia some of his or her red blood cells are sickle
shaped, thus the name sickle cell anemia. Along with the sickle shape the red blood cells are rough
and jagged and can often at times cause blood clots. Another name for this disorder is HBS disease.

Throughout Rudolfo Anaya s book, Bless Me Ultima , the main character Antonio has several vivid,
detailed and sometimes graphic dreams. In one of these dreams (on pages 243 244), Antonio bears
witness to blood, violence, and death. In this dream, Anaya uses imagery, symbolism, similes, and
specific diction to indicate that Antonio is losing faith in his religion and god.
Notes: Need to adjust the words used towards the end.
The imagery in this dream is scary, bloody, and dark as seen here: The mournful wind moved like a

gang arise. They fell upon each other with knives and sticks and fought like animals. Why must I be

Achilles Vs Hector In The Iliad
Achilles vs Hector In the Iliad , both Hector (Trojan warrior) and Achilles (Greek warrior) display
heroic characteristics. Both have strengths and weaknesses, which are apparent throughout the
conflicts in the epic poem. They have obvious differences and limited similarities, which logically
lends itself to the idea of who is more admirable. On one hand there is Achilles, a great warrior, son of
Thetis and King Peleus, and notorious for his anger. This is shown when Achilles addresses King
Agamemnon, You drunkard, with eyes like a bitch and heart like a fawn! You never arm yourself with
your men for battle... (Homer 8). Achilles is beyond livid about king Agamemnon s threatening to take
Briseis (Achilles woman), and shows this through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is shown when he tries to make a truce with Achilles, If Zeus gives me endurance, and with it I
take your life. I will do no vile outrage to your body; I will take your amour, Achilles, and your body I
will give back to your people. You do the same (Homer 318). Hector is thinking of the people on both
sides of the war. For Hector, war is a necessary evil; he longs for peace, yet realizes that it is not likely
to return to Troy. His involvement in the Trojan War is motivated by his duty to protect the people of
the country and the city in with they reside. Hector is what some consider a true patriot . He shows his
deep seated love through his refusal to take wine from his mother. His reason is simple; wine would
cripple him and make him forget that he must fight for his country. In contrast to the anger of Achilles,
Hector is calm and quiet. As the first day of battle draws to an end, Hector returns to the city to be
bombarded with questions about husbands and fathers, which he answers calmly, before joining his
parents, children and wife in the palace. Between Achilles and Hector, the most admirable person
would be Hector. He is a calm, caring and selfless person. Hector is no invincible by any means, as his
battle with Achilles shows. He longs for peace and fears the towering rage of Achilles. He
concentrates on what is beneficial for the community as a whole, opposed to Achilles, whose lust for
vengeance and treasure trumps his loyalty for his

Differences In The Chrysalids By John Wyndham
The world contains an outrageous amount of similarities and differences that involve with today s
society and the society of Waknuk that deals with human intolerance in one way or another. The
Chrysalids by John Wyndham include some similarities within our society and Waknuk that
demonstrate how quickly people judge others according to their physical appearance and the racism
that still exist in both societies. An example of a difference is that there are many different religion and
beliefs today compared to the society of Waknuk. Humankinds are prejudiced in countless different
manners because of the bitterness and cruelty inside humanity s heart and mind.
As society develops, the more injustice human grows by how everyone make conclusions on a person
based on external image. First and foremost, the society of Waknuk are very harsh about the definition

Essay on Positive and Negative Effects of Technology in...
To Plug in or Not to Plug in
Do personal technologies like phones, iPods, and computers connect or disconnect us? The opinions
vary from person to person and generation to generation. Two opinions that we ll look at specifically
are from Andrew Sullivan, a blogger and columnist for the Sunday Times of London, and Anna
Akbari, a professor at New York University. When looked at briefly, Sullivan and Akbari s views seem
to be like the opposite sides of the same coin. Sullivan argues from a more personal standpoint that
personal technology shuts us out from the world. Akbari, on the other hand, sees technology and our
personal devices as a way to open the world up to us and provides facts and results from professional

What Sullivan repeatedly revolves around is this whole idea of technology creating our own world,
that of which we have complete control. This ability to control our own world becomes narcissistic
and eliminates the serendipity of life, or the happy accidents that you could run into. With having
control of your own world through technology, everything is specifically tailored to you. The music
you listen to is completely to your likes, the things you read all agree with your personal views thus
creating less challenging and thought provoking experiences, and the people you meet aren t by
chance, but chosen by a friend request or because you decide to take out the ear buds and talk. The
happy chances of hearing something new, learning something new, and meeting someone completely
different from you, according to Sullivan, are drastically affected by our technology. We end up living
in this virtual reality instead of the real world and we deprive ourselves of the actual experience of
really living and being human. By contrast, Akbari says, We are on a connection journey that happens
through the symbiotic relationship of in person encounters and electronically mediated interactions.
And so I believe it safe to say that this concept of technology creating a

  • 2. The Corruption Of The Form Of Government In Bangladesh In state government is one of the most important elements. Without a government, a state cannot be formed. The government may be changeable and can be formed in different types. There are many different types of government which can be seen in different states in the world. The thinkers have argued the classification in a different way at different times. Lots of discussions have been taken part over the form of governments. They mainly focused on that which form is the best one among all the forms of government. Every form of government is different from another. As a consequence, it is very difficult to pin down the single factor that most closely ties to goodness. The form of government s values may determine its agreeability to a particular individual or group. On the contrary, its corruptibility determines how likely it is to adhere to those values in the real world when subjects to the rigor of human nature. Bangladesh government history and government system : Political governance in Bangladesh began with the independence from Pakistan in 1971. Before that in 1947 the subcontinent became independent. On the basis of religion issues Bangladesh and Pakistan separated from India and Bangladesh became the victim of Pakistan in every feild. To get rid of this domination people of Bangladesh planned to make a political party. On 23 June, 1949 Awami Mulsim League was established . • 3. Reading Loftus Article On Celebrities John Wooden once said that Talent is God given. Be humble. Fame is man given. Be grateful. Conceit is self given. Be careful. This was a powerful quote me because celebrities experience a lot of things that we don t know about. If the bloggers, paparazzi or the celebrity themselves aren t talking about what s going on in there day to day life, we wouldn t know what is going on with them. But we only get a snippet in their lives, we don t know what happens behind closed doors. Reading Loftus article made me put myself in a celebrity shoes. I thought about the things that wouldn t be able to deal with my main three are having an identity crisis, dealing with my body image and privacy. • 4. The Vs. Static Budgeting Essay When we compare the static budget with the actual results, there has been a decrease of 2000 cart rentals, which cause $50,000 unfavorable variance. Moreover, there is an unfavorable variance of $200 from the static budget and this is due to the increase in the Labor cost. But when it comes to the gas and oil there has been a decrease, which cause $1100 favorable variance. So the difference between the actual operating profits and the static budgeting for April is $49100 ($50,000U + $200U $1100F). In my opinion almost of all the differences between the actual operating profits and the static budgeting for April is due to the reduced cart rentals from 6000 to 4000. When we compare the flexible budget with the actual results, there is an unfavorable variance of $200, this is due to the increase in the Labor cost and also there is an unfavorable variance of $900 from the flexible budget and this is because gas and oil were over the budget. In the case of flexible budget, labor, gas and oil were over the budget which cause unfavorable variance of $1100 ($200 + $900). The $200 unfavorable variance in labor is probably insignificant and the $900 gas and oil difference is likely a timing difference between when the gas and oil are purchased and when they are actually used. b. Advantages More accurate when compare to the static budget It is easy to control the costs and easy to evaluate the profits. Can make adjustments for the predictions Easy to adapt to the ... • 5. The Passionate Shepherd And The Nymph s Reply The two poems of The Passionate Shepherd and The Nymph s Reply show contrasting views on love, nature, time, and the material world. The Passionate Shepherd shows more about a positive and naive view while in contrast, The Nymph s Reply is more about a negative and realistic view. The shepherd gave details that idealized the natural world while the nymph criticized his ideal world. According to the shepherd, love is innocent. In his eyes, nothing will ever change or be unpleasant. When he says for thy delight each may morning , he describes the joy and satisfaction that he would feel every day if she were there with him. The nymph is more careful and reluctant to go because she knows that the things he offers, will not last forever. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is the story of a young girl, Ofelia, living in post Civil War Spain under the oppression and structure of her step father, the Captain. Ofelia walks a fine line between this harsh world and one of fantastia with the hopes of fully joining it. Throughout the film, Ofelia s shoes are used as a motif, representing her rebellion towards society s order as she completes three tasks. Before Ofelia starts out on her first task of reclaiming a key from the stomach of a giant toad, her mother makes the young girl a beautiful green dress and gifts her a pair of new black party shoes. • 7. Clay Bust Analysis Most of my pieces have everything to do with personal inspiration, and ideas that I ended up coming with from either reference photos or my very own imagination. I Intended on focusing my creativity on detail and perseverance, there were times during the clay bust project where my project fell apart or cracked numerous times, and I had to struggle a bit to piece it back together. As I began my clay bust project, I came in with various ideas and motivations that eventually morphed into my final piece. I started with jotting ideas that included; Anime sculpting, Alien faces, and Women Facial structures. Eventually, I decided on the Alien piece and began sculpting. It gives me an idea what struggle looks like in a sense, since it fell apart numerous times and I spent an extra amount of time trying to perfect it. My intended audience could be people who aren t really expecting a surprise, and then they re introduced to my piece and have a different reaction that reflects the personality of the piece. For example, they would see it and automatically think that it s some kind of bird creature, and it ll keep people guessing and thinking, yet they won t be able to turn away from the piece. Most of the rest of my pieces are very abstract, and detailed, which is where I believe my bust sculpture fits in perfectly. Besides the amount of time put into this specific piece, I believe that the amount of detail, tone, and color added onto it also relates to the rest of my pieces, for example my clay mask sculpture which included two different colors, yet it I added detail throughout both of them to show facial expressions and setting the tone for each individual ... • 8. Saudi Arabia And The Middle East Essay Although rocky at times the U.S. relationship with Saudi Arabia is extremely important aspect in U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia is a major power player within the Middle East due to its massive oil reserves and direct influence on Islam throughout the region. Various culture aspects of Saudi Arabia, its spread of Wahhabism and allegations of terrorist links has led to Saudi Arabia being under direct fire on the international stage. Scott Shane, author of the New York times article Saudi and Extremism: Both the Arsonist and the Firefighter uses the phrases arsonist and firefighter to draw a connection to the idea that the Saudi s past and present actions are a direct source to the current problems that the country faces. The Saudi s secular teachings of Islam, alleged indirect funding of terrorism and spread of anti western teachings around the Middle East are the highlighted points to what Shane believes makes the Saudi s arsonist in the region. Moreover, to the same point the Saudi govt. and high ranking officials attempt to combat the very things that there kingdom has either directly or indirectly contributed towards making them firefighters . In contrast the counter argument that Saudi Arabia is neither the arsonist nor firefighter can be developed due to the limited direct linkage of Saudi Arabia both abroad and in the Middle East. • 9. The Meaning Of Modern Art By Terrence Malild In chapters two and three of The Meaning of Modern Art, Karsten Harries describes two ways that the relationship between man and nature is understood, and how these understandings are evident in the changing artistic styles and philosophical themes of the time. Harries describes two ways of seeing man s relationship with nature. Either nature is beneath man s reason, and thus art must reconstruct nature in the image of reason or man s relationship with nature is one of intense conflict, in which time and nature conquer man, and only by submitting to nature s oppressive force can man find some victory (Harries 17). In the latter view man is able to escape into his own self and there hear the voices of the gods; in the midst of life he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not long after, they have constructed a colony that is utterly separated from the natural world by a wall, and inside, they have trampled all the grass and wildlife into mud. The man from Europe, with his ideas of order and reason, has violently imposed himself onto nature in the Cartesian tradition. Yet Malick does not present this as the only option. Even as the ships are arriving in America, we see the natives looking out at the oncoming Cartesians in their vast and geometric ships through a field of trees. Quite literally, the natives perceive the world through the lens of nature. They see things through and among the trees and the wildlife. They are actively immersed in nature, living in harmony with it. At one point, we see Pocahontas, one of the natives, dancing in an open field with her brother, simply enjoying the glory of nature, allowing the beauty of life to live through her playfulness and simplicity. Instead of trampling the grass and chopping down the trees, the natives dance among them, as if nature was a dear friend. A colonists even remarks that the natives are timid like a herd of curious deer , implying that he sees their harmony with nature, but because he views nature as beneath man, there is a sense of disgust in his words. This is one of the many contrasts between the natives and the colonists in the film. One of the most striking contrasts Malick illustrates is in the way each uses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Essay On Energy Recovery Energy Recovery Anaerobic treatment gives a high potential of energy recovery from wastewater in form of biogas. The effluent can also serve industrial heating and cooling purposes. Wastewater has a huge potential of electricity generation. Technologies exist for on site energy recovery through sludge/biosolids treatment processes integrated in wastewater treatment plants, allowing for transition from major energy consumers to energy producers. Strict standards for discharge often require energy intensive advanced treatment technologies. As a result, the number of plants using advanced treatment has increased [17]. Rising energy costs and concerns about greenhouse gas generation present a major incentive for tracking energy usage of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Biogas is a mixture essentially comprising mostly methane (CH4, around 55 75%) but also contains carbon dioxide (CO2, around 25 30%), varying quantities of water (H2O) and hydrogen sulphide (H2S). The thermal energy available from the methane contained in biogas is about 6 to 8 kWh/m3. This corresponds to half a litre of diesel oil and 5.5 kg of firewood [21]. 4.2 Microbial Fuel Cell Technology Wastewater treatment is an energy intensive process, consuming about 1,900 kJ/m3 of treated wastewater [22]. Wastewater contains almost 9 times more energy than the energy used to treat an equivalent volume, thus creating the need to harness this energy through the use of a Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) [22]. Microbial Fuel cell (MFC) is a device designed for electricity generation in the process of wastewater treatment [23]. Microbial fuel cell is a new form of renewable energy, which uses bacteria in wastewater to convert organic matter into electricity, while simultaneously treating the wastewater. MFCs can provide an answer to several of the problems which traditional wastewater treatment faces. They enable the recovery of energy out of the wastewater, while limiting both the energy input and the excess sludge production [24]. 5.0 Nutrient recovery Wastewater nutrients are resources that can generate revenues for treatment plants while helping meet environmental regulations. Wastewater and municipal sludge, can be a reliable source of nutrients, in particular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I wanted to look for a book that would be fitting for an Easter theme, and because he enjoys animals and we have been talking about the upcoming season of spring, I thought Little White Rabbit by Kevin Henkes would be a suitable choice. I was eager to read the reviews to see if this book would be a choice candidate to add to my son s library and personal preschool teacher library. Using the library data base, Opposing Viewpoints, I was able to locate a review of the children s book from a webpage, The Globe and Mail, by Susan Perran. • 12. A Detective With Whoville Police Department I am a Detective with Whoville Police Department. I have full police powers and investigate all cases within the city of Whoville. I investigate all crimes and have county and state recourses available for assistance. The first step in the investigation took place when the general manager of the D M food store called the police department to speak with someone in reference to possible employee theft. On February 2, 2016 at 1330 hours, I met with Hugh Downs. He explained to me that he suspected his part time assistant manager, Lowraine James of theft. As the detective assigned to the case, I immediately began an investigation. I asked if the food store had cameras that I could view to see if anything can be seen. I also inquired as to whether the computer history could be checked by appropriate IT personnel. On February 3, 2016, I began reviewing video footage of L. James s work shift. While viewing the footage, I noticed over the course of James work shift, she would stash cash on the side of the cash register after ringing up several purchases from customers. At the end of her work shift while James was counting monies in the cash drawer, she would separate the money and place some of the money in a bank deposit bag and place the previously stashed cash in a brown paper bag. On several occasions, I also noticed when L. James worked an evening shift, she would carry a medium size box and place it in the trunk of her vehicle prior to the end of her work shift. When people talk about being proactive they are most likely referring to the first habit in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. This chapter is about controlling your responses to certain situations. • 14. The And Its Impact On Society 1. Zakaria argues that societies are going through democratization where closed systems are becoming more open. Therefore, now social change is originating from the masses unlike in the past. Today democracy is not just a form of government it is a way of life. For example, a singer that is more popular is also more successful. Large groups of people are what create change. Even capitalism is becoming more democratic. 2. Zakaria defines constitutional liberalism as the goals of government such as protecting the rights of its citizens. In contrast, democracy refers to a government who is elected through free and public elections. Chapter 1 3. Although some argue that the concept of liberty first originated in Ancient Greece, Zakaria argues that liberty first arose after the rise of the Catholic Church. As the Catholic Church s influence grew throughout Europe, some began to rebel. These reformers such as John Calvin or Martin Luther broke away from the church which resulted in the Reformation. However, after the Reformation followed the Enlightenment which truly led to established liberty. People rebelled again authoritarian rule in both the American and French Revolution. These revolution led people to recreate their government structures. As a result, governments that promised to protect the rights of its citizens were created in both France and the newly established United States of America. 4. The celestial layers were representations of the medieval society and the church. The hierarchy of the Kings and Pope over their subjects was justified by the hierarchy of the heavenly bodies; it was considered natural and no one questioned it because it has been like that for so long. The transition of the pre modern to modern outlook was shown in King Lear, one of the most famous of Shakespeare s plays. Ever since, the king was at the top of the medieval society, after him the lords and nobles, knights, merchants, and peasants at the very bottom, but this will no longer be the case when Lear s daughters decided that they wanted to be equal in power with the king. Traditionally, children were supposed to honor and respect their father and mother, but for Goneril and Regan, Lear s wicked daughters, they were only interested in their own individual interests, a demonstration of very modern values. Cordelia was the only daughter who followed duties and kept to her proper place. The storm at the heath also represented chaos and instability because the natural order of things was disrupted with the king losing his rank and authority by being reduced to a crazy peasant. His journey to madness symbolized his own transformation and a change of perspective in the way he looked at life. Again, this shift in thinking follows through in Niccollo Machiavelli s The Prince, on his idea that a person is responsible for his own destiny and can become powerful gaining himself a high position of power with the use of his own skill and intelligence. Those who become princes by virtue of their abilities acquire dominion with difficulty but maintain it with ease (Prince, pg.30). And 50 years on, it is pertinent to today s political debates about class and social mobility. So, let us now praise an insufficiently famous man, sociologist James Coleman, author of the study Equality of Educational Opportunity. In 1966, postwar liberalism s confidence reached its apogee. Additionally, Britain had become an unviable recourse. Initially, its officials had welcomed the Jewish refugees before World War II as they fled the political upheaval in Germany. The war, however, convinced Parliament to forbid further immigration; furthermore, it committed to an aggressive internment policy against German, Austrian, and Italian Jews. Recently, the Hippo pathway has been proposed to be involved in organ size regulation. The Hippo pathway regulates the size of organs through controlling cell number. A major downstream effector of the Hippo pathway is the transcription coactivator Yes associated protein (YAP). YAP is responsible for upregulating genes that promote cell proliferation and downregulating genes that promote cell apoptosis. Elongated upregulation of YAP leads to hyperplasia and tumor formation. Similar to YAP, TAZ was shown to localize in the nuclear fractions of cells in immunofluorescence experiments. MST 1/2 and Lats 1/2 levels were tested in response to LPA treatment. LPA was shown to inhibit Lats 1/2 but not MST 1/2 in immunoblot experiments. Then to test how LPA and S1P were modulating YAP/TAZ immunoblotting experiments were utilized. LPA and S1P were found to modulate YAP/TAZ through G protein coupled receptor signaling and Rho GTPases.
