Sainsbury s Competition Policy
Competition policy
The competition policy is used stop a company from running the whole market and allow for healthy
competition across the market. The competition policy therefore encourages each business within a
particular sector to perform to the best of their ability and for fairness /protection of suppliers. It
ensures that one large business can not monopolize the market. Anti competitive agreement are in
place in law. The Competition Act 1998 states that you must not agree to fix prices or terms of trade,
or discriminate between customers. In the supermarket sector there are many types of business like

economically this could bring in more money to Sainsbury s as customers who will have more money

Contributions Of Langston Hughes
In the 1920s to the 1930s, millions of African Americans migrated from the rural south to the north in
hopes of a better life. During the Great Migration, black southerners moved to the city of Harlem,
New York. The large migration of talented blacks changed the city of Harlem. African Americans had
a chance to show what they can do, and many were interested in art music, and literature. African
Americans had amazing talents in all fields: composers, poets, journalists and artists. This gave Africa
Americans the opportunity to express themselves, their thoughts, and their talents. Langston Hughes
used his talent to change the racial boundaries of the American society, and he became an important
figure in the fight for equal rights. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hughes separated himself from other American American who wrote for white listeners. He wanted to
embrace his African American identity by writing in black dialect. Hughes wanted to make clear that
black writers are no different from any other writers. In the poem The Negro Artist and the Racial
Mountain One of the most promising of the young Negro poets said to me once, I want to be a poet
not a Negro poet, meaning, I believe, I want to write like a white poet ; meaning subconsciously, I
would like to be a white poet ; meaning behind that, I would like to be white. (Harlem Dream
Deferred p.5) Hughes wanted blacks to appreciate their own work and not worry about what the white
man think. If white people are pleased we are glad. If they are not, it doesn t matter. We know we are
beautiful and ugly too. (Steve King p.1) Racism is the mountain that is standing in the way of black
arts in America. Being a black artist was a way to prove that black writers could produce literature
equal of quality to white writers. During this time period, the works of African Americans could be
just as good, if not better, than white Americans. African American artists were frequently
underappreciated for their talents. Blacks artists were often criticized by whites in a negative way.
Many whites felt like blacks were dumb and good for noting people. Hughes

Socio Cultural Impacts of Tourism
Tourism is an activity done by an individual or a group of individuals, which leads to a motion from a
place to another. From a country to another for performing a specific task or it is a visit to a place or
several places in the purpose of entertaining which leads to an awareness of other civilizations and
cultures, also increasing the knowledge of countries, cultures, and history (Central Department of
Tourism Summer Resorts 2006). Tourism is an important industry that depends on culture and science.

The positive impacts of tourism include the economic and socio culture impact on the Jamaican
society. Tourism increases employment opportunities. Additional jobs, ranging from low wage entry
level to high paying professional positions in management and technical fields, generate income and
raise standards of living. Particularly in rural areas, the diversification created by tourism helps
communities that are possibly dependent on only one industry. As tourism grows, additional
opportunities are created for investment, development, and infrastructure spending. Tourism often
induces improvements in public utilities such as water, sewer, sidewalks, lighting, parking, public
restrooms, litter control, and landscaping. Such improvements benefit tourists and residents alike.
Likewise, tourism encourages improvements in transport infrastructure resulting in upgraded roads,
airports, public transportation, and non traditional transportation (e.g., trails). Tourism encourages new
elements to join the retail mix, increasing opportunities for shopping and adding healthy
competitiveness. It often increases a community s tax revenues. Lodging and sales taxes most notably
increase but additional tax revenues include air travel and other transportation taxes, business taxes,
and fuel taxes. New jobs generate

Tolerance As Defined By Merriam Webster
On Tolerance Tolerance, as defined by Merriam Webster, is willingness to accept feelings, habits, or
beliefs that are different from your own. Tolerance is something one must work at to maintain for
acceptance of others is not inherent to human nature or at least it does not seem to be, for the most
part. It is, however, human nature to see anyone unfamiliar and different as other . Due to human
nature, I am rarely, if ever, surprised by some of the remarks I come across in my daily life, especially
from my peers. Occasionally, though, I am very disappointed and surprised by people I respect. My
father, on a clear winter morning, devastated my pure view of his wisdom with a singular comment.
He said, The mess these black people in Detroit are in is what they deserve. All of them are hooligans
and hood rats. There is no way to save Detroit with so many black people there. All I could do was
nod my head and stay silent while inside all I felt was shock. I had never heard my father make a
comment so prejudiced before and had believed him to be a tolerant man of all groups of people. He
had grown up in Detroit, gone into the navy and seen the world through it, had received a college
education, and worked at a steady job where he met all sorts of different people. Through knowing
this, I had thought him to be the picture of a tolerant American who knew differences existed but
accepted them. In my mind, my view of tolerance had changed in that moment because of his

Review Of Related Literature
The Baghdad battery was the foundation of this project and Baghdad batteries were built by Ancient
Parathions. There is still no exact proof on where the Parathions were able to use it since there were no
wires found for the electric current to flow. The battery is composed of a clay pot, a copper tube
enclosing a half inch metal tube and an asphalt stopper as a resistor. Inside the clay, there is a solution
which contains electrolytes such as vinegars and juice. Scholars found out that the Parathions first
ferment their wine as so that the wine will contain more free ions. And the copper tube together with
the metal tube helps the electric current flow. Recent pioneering includes charcoal and wood sand as
an alternative helping increase electric current by 2 volts. (Source:

Comparing Édouard Manet s Le Déjeuner Sur L herbe (Luncheon on the Grass) to Henri Matisse s Le
Bonheur de Vivre (The Joy of Life): An Essay
Pastoral and country settings are featured in countless paintings that hang in museums across the
world, however, not many of them were as rule breaking, revolutionary, and inspiring at their initial
exhibitions as Édouard Manet s (ca. 1832 1883) Le Déjeuner Sur L herbe (1862 1863) and Henri
Matisse s (ca. 1869 1954) Le Bonheur de Vivre (1905 1906) had been. In Le Déjeuner Sur L herbe
(see fig 1), Manet painted a nude woman in a sensual country setting to challenge the idea of what the
female nude is to be in art. Le Déjeuner is a Realism work and in concert with its subject, was a cause
scandal which left ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Had he not liked the color and placement, he would scrape away the dry paint, and continue his work
anew (Turner, 289). Another technique applied to Le Déjeuner, as seen in the trees and background of
the painting, is the fundamental impressionist technique of tache, which was a thick application of
bold strokes of color on the canvas (National Gallery of Ireland, Brushstrokes ). In addition to those
methods, his very flat and almost sketch like outlining of the female nude in Le Déjeuner, a technique
he developed under Couture, caused people to believe that the work was actually presented unfinished
during its original showing (Smarthistory, Manet, Le Déjeuner Sur L herbe ) . There is no subtle fade
of light and color from the background to the small window of a horizon between the trees, to the
human subjects. As a result, the darkness of the

Salt Water On Mars
Space exploration has interested the world for many decades, even centuries. From the time Galileo
first looked up into the stars, to the time of rockets to enter into outer space so much has changed.
Through the countless years of devoted research for life sustaining substances a recent discovery may
have changed our world forever. For years we have wondered if there has been a water source on
another planet. With Mars being in a more ideal location than Venus, the second planet from The Sun
due to temperature, scientist have been researching Mars for water precisely. Images from NASA s
Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter also known as the MRO, has shown citing s of saltwater on the Garni

water on Mars has been captured thanks to an increase in missions and technology, which also leads to

perchlorates that can dangerous to human intake. This issue has caused a delay in our search for
sustained life on Mars. The future of exploring into the proclaimed water substance is still unknown,
but has potential in future scientific applications and possibilities. The rover, Curiosity, is prohibited to

How Did The Founding Fathers Maintain Religious Freedom In...
After the revolutionary war the founding fathers set out to create a new government that would be fair
and just, and that the people would control. One of the first concepts they knew they wanted to have
was religious freedom here in this new country. Previously when they were under British control the
church of england was the only church they were allowed to go to and worship in. The church of
england also had a say in the way they were governed. These two things frustrated the colonists very
much and they wanted to make sure they would never have anything like that again in their newly
established country. While writing the constitution the founding fathers said Congress shall make no
law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. When they said
this they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first reason is that it was tyrannical and against our unalienable rights to have a religion forced
upon us, one that a lot of people may not believe in, but they would still be forced to worship and
participate in church activities. This would no longer be a free country if we were forced to attend a
church. The second reason is the fact that having a national church would give them power to make
decisions in government and be able to control the citizens the when the citizens should have absolute
power over all laws being voted on and all elected representatives. The founding fathers wanted to
steer clear of all possible future tyranny which is why they created this separation of church and state
and freedom of religion. This was the best way to create a fair and just government for this new
country they just fought for to keep. If we did not have separation of church and state then I would not

What Is the Difference between a Router and a Layer 3 Switch
Topic: What is the difference between a router and a layer 3 switch?
Introduction:
The goal and aim of this report is to cement an understanding of the difference between a router and a
multi layer switch, the benefits either provides and most importantly when you would want to
implement one rather than the other, for instance are multi layer switches simply better? How much do
they cost compared to a router, can I justify this cost with performance? Tradionally routers were
deployed in networks to route packets throughout the network and to other networks using their
software in a method called packet switching whilst switches in a network traditionally connected
hosts to the network and employed a method called Hardware based switching and only concerning
themselves with information at the data link layer. New advances in technology have redefined the
role these devices play in the network today with the introduction of the Multi Layer Switch, switches
are able to examine information from the data link layer(layer 2) to the application layer(layer 7)
paving the way for hardware based routing. This report will be threefold; first we will look at the
standard router, and what it does then we will look at the multilayer switch and what it does then we
will look at them together to conclude and fully understand the difference between a router and a layer
3 switch.

WORLD MUSIC CHAPTER 5 1. Why does the Indian classical tradition dominate the musical image
of South Asia in the west? The classical music of India has gained most of the attention of outsiders
probably due to the colonization era that has brought Indo European invaders (Aryan Civilization) into
their territory between 2000 and 1500 BCE due to the presence of rich resources. However, Indian
music, unlike the communal music of Africa and Southeast Asia, is individual and often virtuosic and
can be both vocal and instrumental. The Hindustani one (North) is more appealing to the Western
society as it is more instrumental based, whereas the Carnatic (south) one is more vocally oriented.

Carnatic music is said to have originated in the Karnatak region of south India. On the other hand
Hindustani music is said to have originated in several parts of northern and western India in different
times. While Carnatic music is sung and performed in only one style, there are various styles of
singing and performing in Hindustani music. Each style of school is called a gharana . The number of
ragas used in Carnatic music is more when compared to the fewer ragas used in Hindustani music. It is
interesting to note that Carnatic music is characterized by the presence of 72 melakarta raga scheme.
Each of the 72 principal ragas is divided into several subordinate ragas. Both the types of music differ
in terms of the instruments used in the playing of music as well. While both types of music use
instruments such as violin and flute, Hindustani music extensively employs the use of Tabla (a kind of
drum or a percussion instrument), Sarangi (a stringed instrument), Santoor, Sitar, etc. On the other
hand Carnatic music extensively employs the use of musical instruments such as Veena (a stringed
instrument), Mridangam (a percussion instrument), Gottuvadyam, Mandolin, Violin, Flute,

Prevention And Improvement Of Community Health
Merriam Webster defines Public Health as The art and science dealing with the protection and
improvement of community health by organized community effort and including preventive medicine
and sanitary and social science (Merriam Webster). Throughout recent history, factors that have
seriously threatened human safety whether it be disease, genocide, pollutants, or plague, have been
identified as public health concerns by various governments and organizations. These situations are
remedied by creating a solution to correct the source of the problem. For example, finding the cure to
a fatal disease or shutting down factories that create environmental toxins. One of the most under
recognized public health emergencies in the United States is the violence caused by firearms, and the
source of this violence is unregulated gun ownership. The high percentage of gun ownership among
American citizens and the amount of injury and death that is associated with it constitutes a public
health emergency in The United States of America, which constantly, consistently, and gravely
endangers the American people; this violence must be controlled. Like any other potential public
health concern, the gun violence must be qualified based on the level of deaths and injuries that occur
as its direct result. The World Health Organization defines a public health emergency as an occurrence
or imminent threat of an illness or health condition, caused by bio terrorism, epidemic or pandemic
disease,

Apatow Analysis
Although Judd Apatow s acclaimed comedy Girls is airing its last episodes, his newest HBO half hour
comedy Crashing is keeping the quirky and hilarious ball rolling. Similar to shows such as Louie,
Seinfeld and Master of None, Crashing follows the semi fictional story of comedian Pete Holmes life
(for the purposes of this story, the comedian is called Holmes, and the character, Pete, respectively).
The series begins with Pete catching his wife cheating on him, and continues as he s forced to start a
new life in show business.

Following suit of Apatow s other great comedies, the humorous dialogue in Crashing is natural and
authentic, without the feeling of forced jokes. Apatow s veteran directorial presence can be felt
through the polished quality of the show, such as the scene where childlike Pete engages in a
conversation with actual children, while Holmes writing provides a new perspective.
In episode one, Artie Lange, Pete turns to comedy for emotional support after leaving his wife, and
meets real life comedian Artie Lange. The interaction provides a sharp juxtaposition between the
seasoned Lange and the sheltered newcomer, Pete. The duo share pizza, survive a stabbing and fight

Pete embark on a journey to discover his independence, because in order to be successful, the young

Distillation
Steam Distillation is the process of distilling a mixture wherein one of the immiscible phases is a
steam. It is a mild method for separating and purifying volatile liquid or solid organic compounds that
are immiscible or insoluble in water. This technique is not applicable to substances that react with
water, decompose on prolonged contact with steam or hot water, or have a vapor pressure of less than
about 5 torr at 100°C. One way to perform steam distillation is through the live steam method. It is the
more widely used method. It is especially used with high molecular weight (low vapor pressure)
substances. Although it requires more complex setup, this method reduces bumping.

Ireland s homeland and gave it to the Protestants allies from Scotland. Earlier this century, England
divided Ireland into two, claiming the six northernmost counties as its own. The large number of

Oppression and second class citizenship have limited the

logical step. But first, we must discuss what lead up to this logical step the history. In January 1919,
the Anglo Irish War began with the first shots being fired at Solobeghead. Over the next year, the

martial law on the Irish. These forces became known as the Black and

Kate uses many descriptive adjectives to describe a scene or character in the story. Many writers use

Essay about Strategic Analysis of Ford Motors Company
Company Profile
Ford Motor Company was founded in 1903 by automotive and industrial pioneer Henry Ford in
Dearborn, Michigan. Being first to implement a moving assembly line for automotive manufacturing,
Ford was able to more efficiently mass produce their products than their competitors. In 1908 the
Model T was introduced and went on to sell over 15 million vehicles, firmly establishing Ford as the
major player in the early automotive industry with 50% market share by the 1920s. The company went
public 1956 and since then has grown to be a significant presence in the global automotive market.

Prior to the economic crisis of 2007, Ford has become one of the most globalized of the automakers
with research and design facilities as well as manufacturers and marketing operations around the
world (Albaum et al, 2004;p).With its advantages in low costing, high volume, and availability of
parts for service, it was able to rapidly expand its market (Leontiades 2000; p22 23).
External Environment Challenges
Economic Environment
Doole and Lowe (2008) emphasizes how important it is for Global managers to understand the
economic development in countries where it wants to expand to and how they impact on the overall
strategy of the Firm (Doole Lowe, 2008;pp 12 13). This knowledge is important at a world level in
terms of the world trading infrastructure such as world institutions and trade agreements developed to
foster international trade, at a regional level in terms of regional trade integration and at a
country/market level (Doole Lowe, 2008; pp 12 13).
b) Technological Challenges
A peculiar trend which was prevalent in the last decade, besides globalization, was a limited number
of producers which emerged due to diversity among products and uniformity across national markets
(Agarwal, 2004). Amid global conditions that amount to an economic and industry crisis, the world s
auto makers still consider innovation and technology to be the most important trend over the next five
years. Fuel efficiency improvements, alternative fuel technologies and

Should Avalon Join The European Union
According to neoliberal institutionalists, Avalon should join the European Union because overall, they
will benefit. Reciprocity will help maintain peace within the European Union since states that are
working together are more likely to cooperate because interdependence. Also, being in the European
Union will give Avalon the chance to expand their economy beyond what it is now, by opening up

joining the European Union, countries think about how they will benefit and one way they can benefit,
is through the economy. First of all, there is a common currency, the euro. This makes moving from
country to country easier, as well as giving nations in the European Union a feeling of unity.
Europeans can move freely within Europe and do not have to worry about exchanging currency.

Martin Heidigger s Response To Modernity Analysis
To understand Martin Heidigger s response to Modernity one would have to examine the relationship
between their notions of Man. Martin Heidigger s concept of Man, a being in the world, is very
different from the Modern view of man as a thinking being. One believes that understanding comes
from a purely subject object perspective wherein the understanding of the world around us is
performed by our internal, completely separate, I because it is perfect and known innately while the
other believes that to be a being is to actively Be , which is the same as Heidigger s notion of Being,
and to Be is to exist or to be engaged in the world therefore connecting being, Being and the world
forming the concept of Dasein or a being in the world. To understand Heidigger s response one would
have to first understand what it is he s responding to. Cogito Ergo Sum summarizes what the Cartesian
man is all about. The idea that to exist is to think separates the world into the inner world and the
outside world; this idea resulted from Descartes search for an absolute truth which does not base its

philosophers stated what being was, everybody else just automatically assumed that people just

Malnutrition Is The Most Dangerous Form Of Malnutrition
Facing challenges is inevitable, but urgent when it comes to saving lives. One must surpass the
limitations placed and search for opportunity to strengthen others who have no control over mortality.
Giving up is old news. Hearing about child hunger and doing nothing is injustice. There are victories
to find cures and treatments for severe diseases, but one must go through the battle first to achieve
such satisfaction. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), malnutrition is the most
serious threat to global public health. Severe acute malnutrition is the most dangerous form of
malnutrition. Worldwide, it affects about 19 million children under the age of five years. This disease
expresses itself in two ways: wasting and oedema. Wasting is characterised as an extreme loss of
muscle, fat and tissue, forcing children to look elderly and skeletal. Oedema can spread anywhere in a
child, making him/her appear puffy, weak and lethargic. This condition can also cause skin lesions,
hepatomegaly, and alopecia. If severe acute malnutrition is left untreated, the outcome is death. This
organization took a stand to find a solution to this problem. To be able to understand the results, one
must overview the approach to this situation. The hope was to reach out to as many malnourished
children before any complications arise in the clinic. The study took place at four health centers in the

Jesse Pinkman Character Analysis
All through the seasons, Jesse progressed toward becoming on a par with Heisenberg at cooking meth,
and that is stating a considerable measure for a person who couldn t endure Highschool science. You
can see that Jesse has a genuine weakness for youngsters, you can tell that he has a decent heart
covered under his silliness (Gilligan). Jesse tries to deliver retribution on a few merchants for a big
deal Albuquerque boss when he discovers that they were the ones in charge of the demise of his
companion Combo and his better half s sibling. To ensure Jesse, Walt executes the merchants ( Jesse
Pinkman ). In the prior seasons, we can see that Walt unmistakably cares about Jesse. Jesse comes
after Walt when Brock, his sweetheart s child, is hospitalized with indications of ricin harming. Jesse
thinks Walt had a remark with it. Jesse can not comprehend individuals harming kids (Gilligan). Walt
at that point lies and accuses an adversary merchant with a background marked by harming kids, so
Jesse trusts this lie. Jesse at that point gives Walt data that enables Walt to trap and execute the
adversary merchant. ( Jesse Pinkman Character ). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Summary and Analysis of The Friar s Tale Essay
Summary and Analysis of The Friar s Tale (The Canterbury Tales)
Prologue to the Friar s Tale:
The Friar commends the Wife of Bath for her tale, and then says that he will tell a tale about a
summoner. He does not wish to offend the Summoner who travels with them, but insists that
summoners are known for lewd behavior. The Summoner does not take offense, but does indicate that
he will repay the Friar in turn. The job of the Summoner to which the Friar objects is to issue
summons from the church against sinners who, under penalty of excommunication, pay indulgences
for their sins to the church, a sum which the summoner often pockets.

theory to motivate the employees.
Herzberg s dual factor theory is a need based model, that insight into motivation from 2 different
points of views. 1) Job satisfaction and job dissatisfaction derive from different sources.
2) Simply removing the sources of dissatisfaction will not cause a person to be motivated to produce

These factors can be divided into hygiene factors, which involve working conditions and can trigger
dissatisfaction if inadequate. And motivation factors, which originated from the nature of the job itself
and can create job satisfaction (Wendy Bloisi, 2007).

Carrabelle is a quaint town that prides itself on allowing visitors to experience Old Florida . It is an
ideal place to visit if you are looking for someplace that is off the beaten path and not congested with
lots of other tourists. This town lies at the convergence of three rivers, so it provides ample
opportunities for fishing, boating, and spending lazy days at the two local beaches.
Location
Carrabelle is located in Florida s panhandle. It is slightly southwest of Tallahassee and east of
Apalachicola near the mouth of the Carrabelle River, which is fed by the Gulf of Mexico. Other
bodies of order that help to define Carrabelle are St. George Sound to the south and the Crooked and
New Rivers to the north. The entirety of Carrabelle is a mere 5.6 square miles, 4.5 of which is land

Well let me tell you. Some people affected by Klinefelter Syndrome have sparse body hair, enlarged
breasts, and wide hips. In almost all men the testicles remain small. In some men the penis does not
reach adult size. Their voices may not be as deep. They usually cannot father children. But they can
have a normal sex life. Affected individuals typically have small testes that do not produce as much
testosterone as usual. Testosterone is the hormone that directs male sexual development before birth
and during puberty. A shortage of testosterone can lead to delayed or incomplete puberty, breast
enlargement (gynecomastia), reduced facial and body hair, and an inability to have biological children
(infertility). Some affected individuals also have genital differences including undescended testes
(cryptorchidism), the opening of the urethra on the underside of the penis (hypospadias), or an
unusually small penis (micropenis). Hopefully all of the information above helped you understand and
be aware of Klinefelter Syndrome. Above, there was information on what Klinefelter Syndrome was,

American Apparel Essay
VI. Implementation Plan It is clear that American Apparel has a problem that is largely caused by their
controversial advertising materials and the poor reputation of their CEO, Dov Charney. We believe
that this can be repaired by assigning someone new to be in charge of the company s marketing efforts
and refocusing their advertising strategy to be a more wholesome reflection of their company mission.
Charney can, of course, continue to be in charge of the rest of the company as many of his other
practices such as his pro labour stance (Schuette et al., 2012) are well regarded and respected. For the
good of the company, American Apparel s very first step should be to find and hire a new marketing
professional to take over the department and ensure it returns to the company s natural roots. This
professional could be an internal hire from within the company or an external hire such as a
headhunter or an advertising agency. Hiring an agency is important to consider as they can bring a

How Does Stephen Albert Create A Labyrinth
Simultaneous Futures: The Role of Time in The Garden of the Forking Paths In The Garden of the
Forking Paths by Jorge Luis Borges, Stephen Albert is studying the work of Tsʹui Pên. His work is not
only a book, but also a labyrinth. Many people think that the book and the labyrinth are two different
things, but Stephen Albert has a different theory; it is the theory of a never ending book. It is never
ending because Tsʹui Pên has chosen all possible futures simultaneously. Tsʹui Pên has written a book
and a labyrinth, which is a never ending story of endless possible futures that demonstrates the
possibility for many different futures in real life. Tsʹui Pên has written a never ending book that he also
classifies as a labyrinth. Albert has just met Dr. Yu Tsun and is discussing with him the works of his
ancestor, Tsʹui Pên. Albert, while showing Dr. Yu Tsun the labyrinth, says, ʻTsʹui Pên must have said

before, create the ideal world without abortion has succeed in undermining the health and safety of the
individuals within the state. The benefits of this bill help little to no one as people are forced to
conform based around moral ideals. Now here is where the issue becomes convoluted, because it
surprisingly needs to be argued that the entire backbone to the abortion debate is grounded in moral
high ground authority. Rick Perry claims that a baby can feel the pain of being killed and that we [the
state] have an obligation to end that type of cruelty, (Smith, 2013) yet there is little to no evidence that
a fetus can feel pain inside the womb as it lacks the developed nervous system to feel anything. Basic
reflexes are available to be seen but where this pain comes in has no scientific evidence, and to base
an entire law over the concept of pain and morality rather than actual irrefutable evidence is a stance
best kept in ancient times that lacked modern science.
This moral connection to human life and innocence of children can be seen further connected in Texas
new sonogram law, which requires that a woman seeking an

In a letter to Yang, Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, said: I am disappointed. [Our offer] remains the
only alternative that provides, for your stockholders, full and fair value. You have left significant value
on the table. Yang now has to prove he can boost Yahoo! s share price and justify his board s decision.
Ballmer wrote: Our discussions led us to conclude that you would take steps to make Yahoo!
undesirable. We regard with particular concern your plan to respond to a hostile bid by outsourcing to
Google key paid internet search facilities currently offered by Yahoo! Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP,
an advertising agency, who wants to see a stronger rival to Google, commented: Microsoft showed
self discipline by not bidding higher. Microsoft is a $300bn company with plenty of other ideas. The
people who have lost most are agencies who were looking for a better balance in the marketplace.
Over half the $40bn spent advertising online is on search ads . Google captured 77% of the market in

Wellbeing of the Milspouse
In preparing for my quantitative research I reviewed three articles relating to the wellbeing of the
milspouse. The first article, Military Deployment and the Spouse Left Behind , Asbury and Martin
(2011) included both male and female milspouses who were civilians or they were active duty
personnel themselves. They gathered their data via a voluntary online survey which measured the
spouses depression, anxiety, perceived social support, and marital discord. They focused on the
differences between the civilian milspouses and the military milspouses and hypothesized that the
military milspouses would experience more depression, have higher rates of anxiety, experience
higher rates of isolation and marital discord than their civilian counter parts. They found no significant
difference between the groups in depression, anxiety, or perception of social support. They did
discover in the marital discord findings there was a significant statistical differences between
participants with a spouse in the military and the participants with civilian a spouse. The results
showed that participants with military spouses had more marital discord being that 80% of the military
milspouses and only 17% of the civilian milspouses had frequently considered divorce. (2011, p. 47)
The second article, Military Community Integration and Its Effect on Well Being and Retention ,
Burrell, Durand Fortado (2003) ask; does integration In the military community affect the spouses

Personal Injury In Sports Essay
Personal Injuries That Can Happen At The Ballpark
Have you ever read the disclaimer on the back of your ticket to a baseball games? It says that there is a
chance that foul balls or bats can go into the stands during the game, and you assume the risk of injury
by purchasing a ticket to the baseball game. Does this mean that you are out of luck if you are injured
in a freak accident while enjoying a game? The law may actually be on your side in this situation.
There are only a few cases where the courts sided with the stadiums or sports teams in personal injury
cases, since fans often win their case or settle outside of court. For instance, there was a 2002 case
where a teenager was killed by a wild puck in a hockey game that went over the ... Show more content

was an area that was supposed to be safe from foul balls..
Broken Bats
It s possible that a bat could shatter upon impact with the ball, causing pieces of wood to go flying into
the stands. While not as common as a foul ball, it poses a serious risk of injury to those attending the
game. Any injury suffered from a broken bat is worth pursuing legal action to compensate you for the
damages.
An incident in Boston caused a man to be struck by pieces of a broken bat while sitting along the foul
lines between home plate and 1st base. This incident has actually caused the ballpark to re evaluate
how far the safety nets extend, which is an indication that something could have been done to prevent
the injury from occurring. Currently, safety nets do not extend to the dugouts, which is an area prone
to projectiles at a high speed.
Injuries at the ballpark are not just limited to projectiles flying into the stadium, but can also be caused
by a slip and fall. If you are in need of help getting the compensation you deserve for a personal injury
case at the ballpark, don t assume you are out of luck because of that disclaimer on the ticket. Know

Love Is a Gifted Token Gradually Accepted by a Fragile...
Within this world where love is a gifted token gradually accepted by the fragile heart, love itself is a
power, a blessing in all its glory. For love brings the beauty of the ripest fruit and carries the whispers
of lustrous eves.
Yet within such a delicate world, love itself is often a curse; thorns that prick the careless skin left bare
from the worlds impurity. Ripened fruit will surely sour and become distasteful upon indulgence.
Love itself will perish and it s budding will come to an unsatisfying end. But should love truly be
allowed to become a futility? A hopeless clutch that the weak and poor are grazed by?
This is the story of an undying love, a world created just for the two of them; The girl who wondered
into the forest, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The young man appeared to be loitering, his dulled eyes occupied by the presence of the trees finery.
Yet what proceeded next was somewhat of a curiosity for the trees and their gnarled and lifeless
branches. The man had outstretched his withdrawn hand and began tracing the barks imperfections.
What a pretty tree that accompanies me. His voice had resonated the woods composure for the man
had spoken with the kindest of lips; soft and sweet yet untampered by bitterness. The woods itself was
grazed by such tenderness, for it was used to the silence a lifeless being endures. However this
raggedy man s eyes lacked the tenderness his hands had created. They were dull, impassive . The
young man reached behind his back, a place where a woods with such short sightedness could not see.
The man brought his hand forward. Within his feeble hand was an axe. That beauty you own, I will
create you into the perfect gift for my love. He said as his axe was swung from loving and delicate
hands.
And thus the woods remembered the boy who once lived amongst the trees. It appeared he had
returned, but this time as a woodcutter.
Many years ago, living within the woods was a boy who craved the comfort of another humans touch.
He would watch the villagers from afar as they trespassed the outskirts of the woods. In his early
youth, the boy would view humans through the optimistic and pure eyes a child possesses. He would

School Lunch Programs For Children
Every day, millions of school children around the world take advantage of school lunch programs.
Depending on the financial situation of their families, some of these students may qualify to get these
lunches for free. For the poorest children, this may be the only meal they get all day. For the rest of the
children who are not living in poverty, these program allow them to purchase a hot meal during school
at a very low price. While these school lunch programs help out countless students in many countries
around the world, there are numerous problems associated with them. Often, standards for food
preparation are not high enough. In countries like America, these lunches commonly lack the proper
nutrition children need. Instead, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For many of these children, this may be the only meal they get all day. While this program could be a
life saver for millions, it is plagued with problems that pose a serious threat to the students. Various
insects are commonly found in the food, including worms. In addition, larger animals including lizards
have also been found, causing 16 students to feel dizzy. Worse still, in 2013, at least 22 children were
dead after poison in the school lunch, with dozens more hospitalized. By nightfall...officials said they
believed they had found the cause: cooking oil stored in a container formerly used for insecticides
(Harris). The problem with school lunches in India is the lack of proper storage facilities (Chatterjee).
The schools lacked the finances to have dry locations to store grain, and as a result, a lot had to be
stored in the open. Once it starts raining, the bugs move in. Additionally, the people living in these
parts of India cannot afford to throw things away. As a result, everything is reused, especially.
Unfortunately, the insecticide container was not marked properly, and therefore food products were
stored inside. The government of India had good intentions when starting this free school lunch
program. Without doubt, it prevented many children from starving to death, and set minimum
guidelines for the number of calories and protein that lunches

Steven Spielberg s Adaptation Of Amistad
In Steven Spielberg s adaptation of Amistad, a group of Africans were kidnapped from their home,
Sierra Leone, Africa, in 1839 and shipped to Havana, Cuba. The leader of the group named Cinque
Joseph, led a mutiny against the Spanish crew. The remaining Spaniards, Ruiz and Montes, claimed
they would steer the ship back to Africa, but arrived off the coast of the Northern state of Connecticut.
Cinque s group was arrested and charged with mutiny. Real estate lawyer named Roger Baldwin,
former President of the United States of America, John Quincy Adams, and a former slave Theodore
Joadson, aid the Africans in the landmark legal battle to liberate them. This case provided the
Abolitionist Movement, a lobby group created to fight slavery, with great publicity. The legal
significance of this case is that non slave Africans were kidnapped and illegally sold. The International
Slave Trade was outlawed by treaties by 1839. In Addition, it was illegal under the Spanish Law.
Although slavery was legal in America, more so in the south, it was illegal to bring in new slaves.

Ruiz and Montes would like the Africans to be returned to their possession; Lieutenants Gedney and
Meade claim the slaves belong to them since they found them off the coast of Northern state of

relations of America and Spain; Roger Baldwin argues that the slaves should be liberated because they

During the Great Migration, black southerners moved to the city of Harlem, New York. The large migration of talented blacks changed the city of Harlem. African Americans had a chance to show what they can do, and many were interested in art music, and literature. African Americans had amazing talents in all fields: composers, poets, journalists and artists. This gave Africa Americans the opportunity to express themselves, their thoughts, and their talents. (Harlem Dream Deferred p.5) Hughes wanted blacks to appreciate their own work and not worry about what the white man think. If white people are pleased we are glad. If they are not, it doesn t matter. We know we are beautiful and ugly too. (Steve King p.1) Racism is the mountain that is standing in the way of black arts in America. Being a black artist was a way to prove that black writers could produce literature equal of quality to white writers. During this time period, the works of African Americans could be just as good, if not better, than white Americans. African American artists were frequently underappreciated for their talents. Blacks artists were often criticized by whites in a negative way. Many whites felt like blacks were dumb and good for noting people. Hughes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is, however, human nature to see anyone unfamiliar and different as other . Due to human nature, I am rarely, if ever, surprised by some of the remarks I come across in my daily life, especially from my peers. Occasionally, though, I am very disappointed and surprised by people I respect. My father, on a clear winter morning, devastated my pure view of his wisdom with a singular comment. He said, The mess these black people in Detroit are in is what they deserve. All of them are hooligans and hood rats. There is no way to save Detroit with so many black people there. All I could do was nod my head and stay silent while inside all I felt was shock. I had never heard my father make a comment so prejudiced before and had believed him to be a tolerant man of all groups of people. He had grown up in Detroit, gone into the navy and seen the world through it, had received a college education, and worked at a steady job where he met all sorts of different people. CHAPTER II Review Of Related Literature The Baghdad battery was the foundation of this project and Baghdad batteries were built by Ancient Parathions. There is still no exact proof on where the Parathions were able to use it since there were no wires found for the electric current to flow. The battery is composed of a clay pot, a copper tube enclosing a half inch metal tube and an asphalt stopper as a resistor. Inside the clay, there is a solution which contains electrolytes such as vinegars and juice. Scholars found out that the Parathions first ferment their wine as so that the wine will contain more free ions. And the copper tube together with the metal tube helps the electric current flow. After the revolutionary war the founding fathers set out to create a new government that would be fair and just, and that the people would control. Previously when they were under British control the church of england was the only church they were allowed to go to and worship in. The church of england also had a say in the way they were governed. The second reason is the fact that having a national church would give them power to make decisions in government and be able to control the citizens the when the citizens should have absolute power over all laws being voted on and all elected representatives. The founding fathers wanted to steer clear of all possible future tyranny which is why they created this separation of church and state and freedom of religion. How much do they cost compared to a router, can I justify this cost with performance? Tradionally routers were deployed in networks to route packets throughout the network and to other networks using their software in a method called packet switching whilst switches in a network traditionally connected hosts to the network and employed a method called Hardware based switching and only concerning themselves with information at the data link layer. New advances in technology have redefined the role these devices play in the network today with the introduction of the Multi Layer Switch, switches are able to examine information from the data link layer(layer 2) to the application layer(layer 7) paving the way for hardware based routing. Prevention And Improvement Of Community Health Merriam Webster defines Public Health as The art and science dealing with the protection and improvement of community health by organized community effort and including preventive medicine and sanitary and social science (Merriam Webster). Throughout recent history, factors that have seriously threatened human safety whether it be disease, genocide, pollutants, or plague, have been identified as public health concerns by various governments and organizations. These situations are remedied by creating a solution to correct the source of the problem. For example, finding the cure to a fatal disease or shutting down factories that create environmental toxins. One of the most under recognized public health emergencies in the United States is the violence caused by firearms, and the source of this violence is unregulated gun ownership. The high percentage of gun ownership among American citizens and the amount of injury and death that is associated with it constitutes a public health emergency in The United States of America, which constantly, consistently, and gravely endangers the American people; this violence must be controlled. Kate Chopin s, author of The story of an Hour, and Gail Goldwin, author of A sorrowful Women use unique diction to to describe their main characters. In the Story of an Hour Kate describes a woman with a heart condition. She is faced with the horrible news of her husband, that might be dying. The first article, Military Deployment and the Spouse Left Behind , Asbury and Martin (2011) included both male and female milspouses who were civilians or they were active duty personnel themselves. They gathered their data via a voluntary online survey which measured the spouses depression, anxiety, perceived social support, and marital discord. They focused on the differences between the civilian milspouses and the military milspouses and hypothesized that the military milspouses would experience more depression, have higher rates of anxiety, experience higher rates of isolation and marital discord than their civilian counter parts. They found no significant difference between the groups in depression, anxiety, or perception of social support. They did discover in the marital discord findings there was a significant statistical differences between participants with a spouse in the military and the participants with civilian a spouse. The results showed that participants with military spouses had more marital discord being that 80% of the military milspouses and only 17% of the civilian milspouses had frequently considered divorce. For love brings the beauty of the ripest fruit and carries the whispers of lustrous eves. Yet within such a delicate world, love itself is often a curse; thorns that prick the careless skin left bare from the worlds impurity. The problem with school lunches in India is the lack of proper storage facilities (Chatterjee). The schools lacked the finances to have dry locations to store grain, and as a result, a lot had to be stored in the open. Once it starts raining, the bugs move in. Additionally, the people living in these parts of India cannot afford to throw things away. As a result, everything is reused, especially.
