Essay about Who Killed Martin Luther King
Scratching the Surface, Not Driving in Bullets or: Why White People are Such Morons A great
number of people know who Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was. My generation has had the opportunity
to learn about his work in the civil rights movement and his I have a Dream speech as early as
elementary school. I d venture to say that a fewer amount of people know that this icon was
assassinated and James Earl Ray, a white man, was arrested as his killer. Unfortunately, an even
smaller number of people have heard of, or have read about a remarkable civil rights writer named
James Baldwin. Determining whom killed Martin Luther King seems to still be an issue because of the
guilt of the white man. If white men were properly educated, there ... Show more content on

Unfortunately soon after the march began rioting and fires were quick to follow. The police even
killed a seventeen year old boy a midst the chaos (Wexler 249). Determined to show this city that it
was possible to a have non violent march, King extends his stay (Wexler 249). King was originally
staying at a high class hotel called the Rivermont, but after some FBI agents allegedly discussed
leaking the news that King was staying in a white establishment, to embarrass him, King changed
where he was staying (McKinley 175). Some speculate that his new hotel was suggested so he could
reside in an area where he could be more easily killed. King decided to spend the duration of his stay
in a much less secure motel called the Lorraine. There are many conspiracy theories regarding King s
assassination. A source I have on King s assassination that was copyrighted in the 70s makes it seem
like after the failure of the march that King had gone back to Atlanta and the people requested King s
return and he agreed. The source I have that was published in the 90s made it seem more like King
was individually determined to show that he could successfully hold a non violent march in Memphis.
I don t know how terribly valuable this discrepancy is, but I think it s important to note that as time
passes King may at times be portrayed in an even more saintly light due to his being assassinated. In

National Security in Foreign Policy
Foreign policy definition: a set of political goals that aims to outline how a particular state will interact
with others
Beach (2012): Foreign policy actions can be undertaken using a variety of different instruments,
ranging from adopting declarations, making speeches, negotiating treaties, giving other states
economic aid, engaging in diplomatic activity such as summits, and the use of military force
No matter which instruments are used, the primary objective of states in outlining their foreign
policies is to maximise their national security.
States can go about maximising national security through different means such as by military force,
economic prosperity and/or the general welfare of its people.
Difficult to analyse to what extent national security is a primary objective of states theories of IR will
help explain states motives and how they go about maximising state security, if it is their prime
objective at all.
This essay will analyse the concept of national security through realism (focused on military power),
liberalism (focused on cooperation through liberal internationalism) and constructivism (focused on
wider definitions of security, such as health and the environment).
A. Realism
1. Core principles of realist view of national security
For realists, the concept of national security is an effective balancing of external threats.
The realist tradition of IR theory is said to have stemmed from the work of Thomas Hobbes, where he

Technology Impact On Lifestyle
Technology: The Impact on Health and Lifestyle
Many people these days tend to shy from person to person conversations. Why? Because of
technology, people these days lack the experience and courage to speak to each other without being
timid or awkward. It has become a normal habit in our society to communicate through phones and
laptops. Day by day, our generation is slowly developing a horrible future by losing social skills.
Majority of of the current generation believe that internet is important and that we need technology to
communicate. Also, humans believe that living a healthy life is important. Who knew that spending
too much time with technology is causing human health to fade? Technology could possibly kill us or
harm our health in numerous unspeakable ways. Something as simple as holding a phone, texting,
watching T.V, or playing video games can have a significant effect on our health. Electronical devices
start as far back as 1835 when Joseph Henry, who was an American scientist, created the first
electronical remote device. Joseph created a remote switch that was used as part of a telegraph. Henry
s remote idea was later used for improving telephones. Electronics were first invented to help people
communicate and/or improve their everyday lives. They were meant to enhance people s lives by
making life easier. These days, those factors have been replaced from being helpful to being used for
personal pleasure. Now, people are using electronic devices in improper

Rosewood the Movie
The movie Rosewood had a lot of impact on black and white people throughout the century.
Rosewood stems from a small town located in central Florida. It co existed with 120 people, mostly
blacks who owned and farmed the surrounding land. On New Year s Day of that year, Fanny Taylor, a
white woman in the nearby predominantly white town of Sumner, ran out of her house screaming,
bruised and battered, claiming that a black man had assaulted her. In fact, the beating had been at the
hands of her white lover. Fanny had lied so that her husband would not find out about her adultery.
Fanny claimed that an escaped black convict from a local chain gang had done this. This led to tension
and resentment to all the local townspeople of Sumner. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The State of Florida was widely known as one of the biggest controversies Florida had to endure. Why
did it take so long for them to act upon this brutal state of affairs? The problem with this dilemma is
that racism is shown even in the Supreme Court. If we didn t live in a society where there was racism
the world would be a much better place. Racism has been a problem throughout the ages of time in
this world. It emerged out of the rise in the slave trade in the eighteenth century.

The Compact Cameras And My Pocket Sized Camera
As a present, my husband announced that I was to research the newest compact cameras so that I
could update my pocket sized camera. Previously I had a Kodak compact camera however the features
were lacking and it was starting to eat batteries, it was time for a new camera. It was shocking to find
that compact cameras have come a long way since the last time I purchase a compact camera just five
years ago. There were many cameras to choose from and most were under $200.00. Here are my top
eight picks for compact cameras for under $200.00. They are listed in no order of quality or price. 1.
Sony Cybershot W120: If you are looking for a colorful camera to express yourself, this is the camera
for you. It comes in the original silver, or one can choose the same camera in black, pink, blue, or red.
Choosing a color is nice but I found that some colors were $50.00 or more, just to have a color on the
outside case. Similar to the Olympus FE 300, it contains a 15 MB internal memory; 4x Optical Zoom;
2.5 1 LCD Display; Lithium Ion battery; and utilizes a Memory Stick Duo for memory. The only
downside of the camera is that it contains only 7.2 Megapixels, much under the Olympus camera. I
have talked to a friend that owns this camera which states that the camera is good for tons of lighting
like outdoors but does not work well indoors with lower, florescent lighting. It can be purchased at
just about any store for under $200.00, especially at Wal Mart. 2. Canon Powershot SD1100

The Importance Of Play With Toys
With the amount of time children spend playing with toys, every parent or legal guardian of a child
should be more prudent with the toys their children to play with. Playing is important to children. Play
is one of the main ways children learn and toys are tools that help encourage that. Play with toys is
extremely beneficial in ways people fail to realize. For example toys help teach motor skills and social
skills and help them build creativity and exercise their muscles. Creativity in children is also
developed during play. Children who get time off other duties to play become more attentive
especially in their schoolwork. Leaving children to initiate their own kind of games, gives them room
to become more creative as opposed to when they are supervised by an adult (Goldstein, 2012, p.13).
The toys children play with affect their own interests and skills as a person during childhood, which
influences their characteristics as a person in adulthood. First and foremost, play is essential to a child
s development. Play is so important to optimal child development that it has been recognized by the
United Nations High Commission for Human Rights as a right of every child (Play and Childrens,
n.d.). Believe it or not play has been proven to be extremely beneficial for children of all ages. It
contributes to the cognitive, physical, social and emotional well being of the child (Ginsburg, 2007, ).
Play lets children exercise their creativity while developing their

George Grenville Sugar Act And Stamp Act Of 1765
The Stamp Act
To the people of England, this act was one of the significant act as the Parliament had been collecting
tax money from the colonists for everything. Moreover, the colonists are required to put tax stamps on
many documents such as newspapers and letters. But the colonists did not want this act to happen as
they had to pay more tax which must be in the British currency. The act was passed by parliament on
March 22, 1765 and it became effective on November 1, 1765 (Tindall and Shi, 193). This act came to
practice to assists the troops of England and for keeping American frontier safe. This act was not a

turning point for both England and the colonies and it was one of the major cause of the American
Revolution. Daniel Dulany gave a speech where he supported the colonists about the tax should not be
imposed to them without their permission. He also emphasis that the commerce will be finished for
Parliament if the colonists resistance would not come into consideration. Parliament s decision on tax
did not receive any impacts by the resolution due to the huge commercial pressure. But after one year

The Between Mind And Body
There is no real answer for the question about if mind and body are the same or different, a person is
made of mind and body and the both have different characteristics. Rene Descartes asked the question
what am I. he gives and answer to the question by saying he is a thinking thig, if the body and mind
are different from one other, mind can also continue with no body because it is not import for what he
is. Moreover body is breakable and extender and mind is not breakable and non extended, that is a
reason they are different in nature.
Rene Descartes settled the metaphysical differences between the body and mind, but he also have to
think about the relationship between mind and body. Mind and body are two different substances with
many properties. Moreover the mind and body communicate, its and everyday experience, the actions
that we do every day is from our thoughts. The relationship between the body and mind is much more
close and special, it cannot be regenerated with any other physical substances. When anywhere in the
body is wounded we feel pain and tries to not get injured again. Desires and thoughts have a
connection with how the body behaves but the mind is able to take control of the body
Descartes assumes that if it is possible to conceive of one thing without the other, then those two
things are not identical. The self is not a body, it s not a physical thing without a body. He also argues
that we can conceive of ourselves as existing. Thinking is

Class Is An Integral Part Of All Societies
Division has become an integral part of all societies. These divisions range from gender, education,
occupation and wealth. A combination of these and other dividing factors shape the manner in which
and individual is perceived by their peers in a social setting. These factors make of the basis of a social
class. Defined as a group of people who share economic resources that influence their lifestyles, class
is ingrained in the minds of individuals in all societies. Although the elements that determines ones
class may appear to be arbitrary they are integral to our daily interactions whether we would like to
accept it or not. We base our perception of individuals on how they appear to us when we first
encounter them. We then use these perceptions which are sometimes false and highly inaccurate to
determine who will and will not interact with. In countries such as India class is so important that you
are bestowed a class upon birth and no matter how low or high ranking it is, you are meant to stay
within that class for the entirety of your life. This stringent system is called a caste. Although the class
system seems arbitrary and unimportant in the modern United States it is extremely important because
the division of classes allows for structured inequalities that have detrimental effects upon the
populace. The United States is branded as the land of opportunity. In the poem The New Colossus by:
Emma Lazarus the following is affirmed, Give me your tired, your poor, Your

One Memory If I had to keep one memory, it would be my family trip to Turks and Caicos. It was the
first time I had been to an all inclusive island resort vacation and I had no idea what to expect. After
leaving cold New Jersey on an early morning in February we got off the plan, only a few hours later
and walked down a flight of steps off the airplane. The change in temperature immediately hit my face
as I felt the heat and humidity of Turks and Caicos. It was a stark contrast from the snowy, cold
climate we had just left in New Jersey a few hours earlier. My family and I gathered our luggage and
boarded a shuttle bus that dropped us off at the resort. I had no idea what to expect, but as soon as we
got of of the shuttle bus at the resort and a woman handed me a warm towel to wash my hands, and a
cool drink of tropical punch, I knew right away that I was going to like this place! After we had
unpacked our luggage, my family and I decided to go for a walk to tour the grounds of the resort. It
was huge and so beautiful! There were at least five different pools as well as a water park and
playground. As we walked up to the beach for the first time I was completely mesmerized by the ...

A honeypot can be used on the Internet as well as the intranet, based on the needed service. Placing a

system could be compromised, probably without immediate knowledge.
Honey Pots can be setup inside, outside or in the DMZ of a firewall design or even in all of the

Behind the firewall (intranet) Each approach has its advantages as well as disadvantages. Sometimes it
is even impossible to choose freely as placing a server in front of a firewall is simply not possible or

Abstract:
With the advent of modern technology, the way our culture consumes music has changes dramatically
in the last ten years. With technology developing as rapidly as it is; music piracy has been prosperous
while traditional music sales have declined. This essay explores how cloud based music services have
affected music consumption and piracy.

Over the past decade, cloud streaming has made its way into consumer s lives. These cloud services
allow users to access music from a central database via a website. Users can access this music for free.
But only as long as they are connected to the internet. Consumers may also choose to purchase a
subscription to these sites which eliminates advertisements and allows unlimited listening online or

sizeable impact that Billboard has created a chart for streamed music.
Cloud streaming services provide access through subscriptions which are often paid. Meanwhile
piracy offers users free and unlimited access to all music without any limitations. Almost all
consumers of pirated music claim that the practice of piracy does not hurt the music industry at all.
The book Moser on Music Copyright (2006) argues that piracy does in fact hurt the music industry by

The United States, Colonialism, And Imperialism
Throughout american history, examples of the United States domination of the political, economic,
and social aspects of other countries can be seen. This domination, also known as imperialism, was
primarily caused by a growing sense of nationalism, the influence of supply and demand, and a desire
to maintain global military power. Imperialism is categorized into three different groups: colony,
protectorate, sphere of influence. TRANSITION SENTENCE
Colony imperialism is when a territory or other area of lady is governed directly by a foreign country.
A prime example of colony imperialism is the Purchase of Alaska. The United States Secretary of
States, William Seward wanted Alaska since 1860 because of its potential trade value and resources
such as timber, gold, and trout. The purchase of Alaska began in June 30th 1861 when gold was
discovered in Alaska for the first time, sparking the United States and other colonizing powers interest
in the territory. Russia feared that they would lose Alaska so they began to discuss selling it to the
United State in 1866. . There was disapproval on both sides of the trade. Russian were upset at the
amount of money put into settling Alaskan territories that would be lost after the sale of Alaska.
Americans didn t see the purpose of the sale and one American journalist went as far as writing, Why
does America need this icebox and 50,000 wild Eskimos who drink fish oil for breakfast?

Essay On The Red Wheelbarrow
In William Carlos Williams 1923 poem, Red Wheelbarrow , the answers to the questions associated
with the undescribed imagery are not important. Instead, simple imagery is utilized to describe a
simplistic scene in which, so much depends / upon , leaving the reader to answer that question.
(Williams, 1923, p. 563, lines 1 2). The Red Wheelbarrow therefore, is devoted to a single image, the
image of a red wheelbarrow. Utilizing only sixteen words, the Red Wheelbarrow breaks the traditional
boundaries between ideas or items with its rather consistent lines. Furthermore, this poem lacks any
punctuation and proper grammar, yielding the idea that the stanzas never essentially begin or end
(Kirszner, Mandell, 2017). Without proper punctuation, the lines run together, with no breaks or
differentiation between a stanza and a couplet. Moreover, that the lines themselves appear to create a
unity within themselves because each focuses on a single element. An example is that the
wheelbarrow, the rain water, and the chickens are all grouped together (Williams, 1923). Therefore,
without punctuation, the lines are not connected, which leaves element connected to the other through

fact that the white chickens remain beside of the wheelbarrow during or following a gentle rain,

Persuasive Essay On Online Privacy
Privacy is one of the most vital components in a human beings life. Nobody wants to be fully
transparent because then you are subjected to people s comments and judgments on your every move
and that can get on your nerves. Breach of privacy is considered as one of the most heinous crimes
that people commit as you are intruding someone s personal space by breaching their privacy.
Harassment follows as people do not care about what the other person is going through and they just
want to fulfill their own selfish purpose. Everyone wants to maintain his or her privacy and it is very
normal for a person to want to be anonymous while using the Internet. When you are signed in, all
your information, the sites that you are visiting, the pages that you are liking is being recorded and
then you receive ads and people can even track you. Remaining anonymous also helps protect you
from cybercrime, which is at large these days. It s high time that you take up the issue in your hands

The Major Hormonal Changes That Occur During Adolescence
1. Describe the major hormonal changes that occur during adolescence. Describe girls reactions to
menarche and boys reactions to spermarche during puberty. What factors influence the way
adolescents respond? Describe the impact of puberty on parent c hild interaction and the adaptive
value of this change in adolescents relationships with their parents.
During Adolescence children are transitioning into adulthood. At this time, both boys and girls are
experiencing hormonal changes. Both sexes react differently to these changes. Girls begin menarche
typically between the ages of twelve and thirteen years of age. At this time girls are mostly informed,
however girls still feel that they are not prepared and find themselves in a state of surprise when
menarche starts (Berk, 2014, p. 365). It has been found that African American girls may be better
prepared for their change and transition much easier than their Caucasian classmates. Girls tend to tell
their friends that they are menstruating; therefore they are more apt to get the support of others
through this change (Berk, 2014, p. 368). Boys become sexually mature between the ages of eleven
and fourteen. Around the age of thirteen, a boy my experience his first spermarche, or first ejaculation.
While mostly all males are aware that there is going to be a change and that spermarche is going to
happen, they had no to to tell them about these physical changes or what to expect. It has been found

Dick Rhodes Book Summary
Dick Rhodes was born in Ulster to a homemaker and a WWII veteran. Before war broke out in his
homeland, he immigrated to Canada. To be an ordinary guy was his plan, to marry, have children and
live a long productive life. Instead, returning home, he became a soldier. By his side, his buddies
fought the war. Years later, after the guns fell silent many were still fighting the war. A sinister, unseen,
evil war called P.T.S.D. During the conflict, in his homeland, from the Ulster Defense Regiment alone,

More families destroyed as our heroes wait in line for help. A support that never seems to come. It s
for the warriors and their families Dick wrote this book. His aim in writing the book is not just to

to those with combat related P.T.S.D. To expose the agony of those who relive their war every day. To
show the effects that untreated P.T.S.D. can have on a family. In the end, the goal is to urge all to get

The Great Gatsby- Color Symbolism
The Power of Color Colors are used many different ways by many different people, but are used
mainly as a reflection of the way one feels or his or her own personality. This idea is depicted through
the different characters created in F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby, set in the post World War I
era. The novel evinces the major themes through the use and explanation of many diverse colors. Jay
Gatsby, the most significant character in the story, leads a very materialistic lifestyle. Hoping to gain
back his old love, Daisy, Gatsby uses his money to impress her, hopefully leading to their settling
down together. Daisy s second cousin once removed, Nick Carraway, is the link that helps to connect

Caught in the romantic atmosphere of the night, Nick puts [his] arm around Jordan s golden shoulder
(Fitzgerald 79). Both description serve to symbolize the fact that she is happy and quite valuable, as of
now, to Nick. While gold and silver are two valuable colors to the characters, gray symbolizes the
corruption behind the money. One depressing color that is quite significant to the story happens to be
the very dull gray. Gray represents the neutral, dull and corrupt society that resides in America. It is
seen, through some of the structures, that corruption has made a big impact on everyone surrounding
them. One such structure, that is only mentioned briefly, is the villages in France. When Nick first
meets and talks to Gatsby, they bring up how both men look familiar to one another. Ironically, they
both took part in some section of World War I, Gatsby, in the ninth machine gun battalion, and Nick,
in the Seventh Infantry (Fitzgerald 47). During the quick recapitulation of the war, [they] talked for a
moment about some wet, gray little villages in France (Fitzgerald 47). These villages represent the
corruption and destruction that the war has brought to the people and society of France. Another gray
structure is the windows at Gatsby house. Even though Gatsby is a man of money and success, the
gray windows on his home signify that this happiness is just a facade, and that in reality, there is much
fraudulence hidden within Gatsby

Purpose Of Corporal Punishment
Corporal Punishment is the intentional act of disciplining by inflicting physical pain as retribution for
an offense or wrongdoing. The purpose of corporal punishment is to prevent the offense or
wrongdoing from happening again by instilling or associating fear with these undesired acts. Corporal
punishment may be divided into three main types: parental or domestic corporal punishment, school
corporal punishment and judicial corporal punishment which closely related to prison corporal
punishment. Quite a few people support corporal punishment as a valid form of education. On the

However, I believed that corporal punishment is a cruel and inhumane behavior. Corporal punishment
can lower self esteem to both the punisher and punishee, and may have longer term psychological
impact too. Also, there are other means of education that are effective too. A common alternative is to
educate why the action was wrong to the point of invoking empathy or shame. Moreover, those people
receiving punishment are more like to be instilled with rage and hostility even into adulthood.
Corporal punishment trains children to be violent to other children and educates them that it is an
acceptable means of education. This will carry on into adulthood too. In addition, for corporal
punishment to typically continue working, more punishment, pain, or force maybe be necessary. As a
result, child abuse typically starts as corporal punishment. According to Impairing Education, a report

Underground Railroad Thesis
Underground Railroad The Underground Railroad was not only a passage to freedom but also to
equality. As a slowly established organization in the early 1800s, it impacted the lives of many people
especially slaves (History.net). Many slaves found freedom through the secret passages of the
Underground Railroad with the raging fear of being caught. The Underground Railroad is a secret
passage to the North slowing leading slaves to freedom. This passage to freedom was an opportunity
that shall not be missed. As a matter of fact it was one of the best historical events that occurred during
the Civil War times. The commencement of the Underground Railroad was very secretive yet
successful. This organization was neither a railroad or underground. It was a number of houses, barns,
and hidden rooms where slaves could hide. This whole project was based off of a strong belief of
slavery being bad and injustice. After everyone thinking that this railroad underground was real,
people made code names. A conductor would be code for people who helped transport the slaves.

Defining Prostitution Essay
Defining Prostitution
Prostitution is a word which applies to far more circumstances than its usual legal definition which is
about prohibiting massive whoring . I have a very simple way of defining prostitution: Prostitution is
when you do something for money that you wouldn t be doing without being paid. You will find under
this definition that there are quite a few whores who are not prostitutes, for they actually love what
they do, and would continue to engage in promiscuous sex even without the monetary reward. What
would be shocking to the average person is to realize that the average person is in fact a prostitute.

In liberalism feminism, prostitution is conceived of in the contractrarian sense of being a private
business transaction. The liberal contends that a woman is free to enter into contracts. Liberal feminist
believe that personal rights should predominate over concerns for the social good. The liberal feminist
wants to free women from oppressive gender roles.
Marxism
Marxist feminism arises out of the doctrines of Karl Marx, whose theory is centered less on the
material aspects of life than on the more broadly defined social one. Prostitution is a form of labor and
therefore has been specifically noted as falling under the designation of a corruption of wage labor.
Marx asserted that prostitution is only a specific expression of the general prostitution of the laborer.
Prostitutes may feel that they are free, but looking at the larger economic picture in Marxist terms,
they are in reality oppressed workers reinforcing an exploitative capitalistic scheme.
Classical Marxism conceives the bourgeois mainly as founded on the unremitting basis of capitalism:
private gain. The rhetoric of commodities pervades the family, as women, lacking access to the public
sphere, are forced to link themselves to men for financial reasons. Accordingly, sex within capitalist
marriage is viewed as a form of prostitution.

I have no passion or desire to write about a thunderous destruction of a city or the death of hundreds

magnitude does not mean that my lips should stay shut regarding the topic of the Great Chicago Fire.

From there, a piece of debris was flown onto an oil tanker located across the river in the North Side.
The North Side was ablaze. It was a terrible night for many of the residents of the city of Chicago and
is one that will go down in infamy until the end of time. The final totals for the fire were at the
minimum 300 deaths, 70,000 buildings burned to the ground, 100 thousand people forced to
homelessness, 73 miles of street were incinerated, and 200 million dollars in damage.
There are many examples of struggle and despair during the fire, but there is one that I found very
compelling. This excerpt from a letter written by a businessman from Chicago in 1871 brought into
account the amount of people who came back and tried to save their precious belongings instead of
focusing on getting out of town. The man in this example was able to sneak away with his life but
faced some very close to death moments.

Ecology and Natural History
S. invicta has been shown to have two social forms, a monogyne and polygyne form. The monogyne
system only contains one mating queen, while in the polygyne system there are multiple queens (Ross
1997). The two are distinguishable by genetic comparison of the Gp 9 locus. The polygene form is
identifiable by all being heterozygotes (Bb) at the Gp 9 locus (Ross 1997). Both social forms have
been shown to occur throughout the United States, although it is thought that the monogyne form is
largely responsible for the initial invasion (Tschindel 1998). Mating flights are the common form of
colony expansion and secondly budding can occur in which a portion of a colony becomes a self
sufficient unit. On average S. invicta will have six to eight mating flights a year occurring between the

The Impact Of The Spinning Jenny And The Industrial...
Until the 18th century, material form wool or cotton was manufactured mainly by what was known as
the putting out system. A trader would provide the raw material to spinners and weavers. They in turn
would spin the wool and/or cotton into threads and weave the threads into material. The material
would then be sold back to the original provider at the going piecework rate of the day. Spinning and
weaving was a true cottage or home industry because most of the spinners and weavers worked out of
their cottage homes. The Spinning Jenny invented by James Hargreaves in 1764, but only patented in
1770, contributed to the Industrial Revolution in the textile industry by revolutionising the process of
cotton/wool spinning. Hargreaves and his family lived in Stan Hill, a small village in Lancashire,

The Origin Of The Ais Indians
Long before the Western countries discovered North America, the Native Americans lived and thrived
here. Historians believe these wandering peoples crossed over a land bridge that formed when the
earth froze over, officially named Beringia, to get to North America. These nomadic Natives began
spreading and forming different tribes around North America. One of the many tribes was the Ais
Indians of Florida. By themselves, the tribes reigned the New World, but contact with the Westerns
began their tragic demise. Although little is known about the origins of the Ais Indians, historians do
know that they settled around 1000 BC. The Ais Indians were located on the Atlantic Coast of Florida,
from present day Cape Canaveral to St. Lucie. This area would have covered four counties: Brevard,
Indian River, St. Lucie, and the northern part of Martin. The Ais Indians resided in towns and villages
along the Indian River in huts. Similar to any group of people, the Ais had a leader called the Cacique.
The Cacique was determined by whom the most respected matrilineal family was in the tribe. Unlike
the traditions of the West, the Cacique would rule through suggestion instead of force. Regarding to
housing, the huts they lived in were framed with wood or sticks, then they were covered in palmetto
leaves to form walls and a roof. As expected, the Cacique s hut was larger and more furnished than the
rest of the huts. Their diet mainly consisted of fish, oysters, clams, snails, and sea grapes

Slavery And Its Impact On The United States Essay
Over the past 35 years a great change has occurred in the study of slavery and its impact on the
settling of the New World. From a footnote in American history of little consequence until the cotton
fields of the antebellum South, it has evolved into a study that now sees the institution as the most
significant element in the colonization and exploitation of this hemisphere by Europeans. It also
acknowledges the participation of Africans and the Amerindians in this process and furthermore sees it
as essential to its occurrence. The added significance of the Atlantic system has created a more
compelling picture and thrust slavery to the forefront of the story form the beginning of this historical
era, in fact from before the moment Columbus encountered the Arawaks on Hispaniola. To understand
the history of the settling of European America is to understand the role slavery played in the
economic and political success of the one third of the migrants that arrived by choice at the expense of
the two thirds that arrived in chains. The discussion of modern historians now centers on when and
where did the transformation take place that brought ten to twelve million Africans to the Americas in
bondage, how did the social structure change with their arrival, what effect did they have on the
greater culture and in what ways were they able to create/maintain their own Creole African culture.

The documentary, narrative The Lynching of Emmett Till by Christopher Metress, tells Emmett s story
of death through various points of view. On August 24, 1955, Emmett Till, a fourteen year old African
American boy from Chicago, entered a rural grocery store of Money, Mississippi. Because the young
child had been gloating about his bond with white people up north, his southern cousins had dared him
to go into the store and say something to the women working the register. Emmett accepted their
challenge; seconds later he was at the counter, set on purchasing two items. What he did or said next
will never be known for sure, but whatever passed between these two strangers from two different
worlds set off a chain reaction that would forever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In particular, when the author describes the murder of Emmett that is enough visualization to send

Lastly, not only is the novel informant: it s also educational at the same time.
In conclusion, Emmett Till was a young boy who was born in a time that was rough for African
Americans. Also, Christopher Metress is a published author and college professor whose ideas are
linked with readers, worldwide. Sixty years later, at a time when race relations are once more at the
front of the American mind, Till s name is still adducing as a reminder of the worst consequences of
ignoring the problem. Accidentally, his story has inspired a regeneration of historians and scholars.
Everyone has the right to have happiness in life and should not be oppressed by discrimination.
In the year 1955, white men in the Mississippi Delta lynched a fourteen year old from Chicago named
Emmett Till. His murder was part of a massive wave of white terrorism in the wake of the 1954
Supreme Court decision that declared public school segregation unconstitutional. Five years later,
Black students launched sit in campaigns that turned the struggle for civil rights into a

Conflict Theory Explicates Gregarious Life
Conflict theory is in essence an intricate system with imbalance, which results in conflict that can
leave to gregarious change. It explicates gregarious life through understanding convivial processes as
the result of the constant struggle between groups. In society there are inhibited resources, such as
potency, wealth, edification, and prestige, as a result people vie for those resources for survival and to
amend their position in society. As verbalized by McQueeney (2011) according to conflict theory,
society is: A struggle for ascendance among competing convivial groups (classes, genders, races,
religions, etc.). When conflict theorists visually examine society, they optically discern the convivial
ascendance of subordinate groups through

With the wide spread growing Culture of inner urban music the boom box was MVP or as I would say
MVM. Most Valuable Module, it revolutionizes the play grounds and affairs in that era. Not only was
it good for promoting the artist , reason being people actually walked down the street blasting music
from the unique Box . It was also a platform for dance Crews to practice their routines and techniques
in the real environment in which they battle in for clout and respect in that era. The Birth of Hip Hop
the Evolution of the 8 track car stereo into the Boom box also has had inspired multi movements.
Numerous individuals started spinning records in different variation and angles and are called what we
know now as Dj ing. Other individual who enjoyed the rhythms and momentum of the culture formed
their own style of dance called Break Dancing. Back in the 80 s the Boom box was a super model.

American Anime Censorship
Japan and its people is open minded to many thing which has led to very bizarre actions such as
cartoon porn and hentai being able to be purchased in bookstores and convenience stores throughout
the country. This show how censorship and cartoons are treated compared to America. In America
cartoons are considered childish but in Japan cartoon can be viewed by everyone and to all types of
people. Due to Japanese animation success to appeal to huge audiences around the world, it has grown
to become one of the strongest mediums in Japan and the U.S. Question is how is Japanese animation
different compared to American animation? Anime can be differed from american cartoons by three
things: the cultural and production practices, the complexity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The times mature content is censored is on TV. Many people watch TV so the possibility of a child
watching a mature show is high but it censored to a degree. In Japan, Article 21 of the Japanese
Constitution guarantees freedom of expression and prohibits formal censorship. Freedom of assembly
and association as well as speech, press and all other forms of expression are guaranteed. No
censorship shall be maintained, nor shall the secrecy of any means of communication be violated
(Japanese Constitution). Videos Games and anime from Japan will have nearly any forms of sexual
content be censored with the teams creating product asked to either add clothes to the characters or
make the female character s less sexy . This result of censorship in america has resulted in anime and
video games creators hesitate to released materials to america. There s no such thing as underage
when it comes to art. These characters are pixels on a screen, not people. Even of age characters are,
in actuality, less than one year old when most of us see them; and on the flip side, characters who ve
been around for a long time, like Lisa Simpson, are in their 20s. The age the character is given in
continuity is just a number. It s not representative of anything real.If these were real people, yes, I d

1980 Banking Crisis
Since the crisis of 1933 the United States has never been the same, following with the crisis of 1980

This almost brought down the world s financial system, and threatened the collapse some of the large
financial institutions. Which luckily was prevented by the bailout of banks by national governments,
but left the stock markets to fend for themselves, thus causing global drop. It took huge taxpayer
financed bailouts to shore up the industry. Even so, the ensuing credit crunch turned what was already
a bad turn out into the worst recession in 80 years. In 2008 the world economy faced its most
dangerous crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. The contagion, which began in 2007 when
sky high home prices in the United States finally turned decisively downward, spread quickly, first to
the entire U.S. financial sector and then to financial markets overseas. The American economy is built
on credit, and because of this credit went unchecked and got out of control. Many people were taking
out loans, mortgages became simple. Many people got rich and wanted more. Banks made a cut on the
sale, then packaged the mortgage with a group of other mortgages and erased all personal
responsibility of the loans. The housing market eventually declined, causing massive losses in
mortgage backed securities. Many banks and investment firms began losing money. This also caused a
massive amount of homes on the market which lowered housing prices and slowed

  • 2. Essay about Who Killed Martin Luther King Scratching the Surface, Not Driving in Bullets or: Why White People are Such Morons A great number of people know who Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was. My generation has had the opportunity to learn about his work in the civil rights movement and his I have a Dream speech as early as elementary school. I d venture to say that a fewer amount of people know that this icon was assassinated and James Earl Ray, a white man, was arrested as his killer. Unfortunately, an even smaller number of people have heard of, or have read about a remarkable civil rights writer named James Baldwin. Determining whom killed Martin Luther King seems to still be an issue because of the guilt of the white man. If white men were properly educated, there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... King was originally staying at a high class hotel called the Rivermont, but after some FBI agents allegedly discussed leaking the news that King was staying in a white establishment, to embarrass him, King changed where he was staying (McKinley 175). Some speculate that his new hotel was suggested so he could reside in an area where he could be more easily killed. King decided to spend the duration of his stay in a much less secure motel called the Lorraine. There are many conspiracy theories regarding King s assassination. A source I have on King s assassination that was copyrighted in the 70s makes it seem like after the failure of the march that King had gone back to Atlanta and the people requested King s return and he agreed. The source I have that was published in the 90s made it seem more like King was individually determined to show that he could successfully hold a non violent march in Memphis. I don t know how terribly valuable this discrepancy is, but I think it s important to note that as time passes King may at times be portrayed in an even more saintly light due to his being assassinated. National Security in Foreign Policy Foreign policy definition: a set of political goals that aims to outline how a particular state will interact with others Beach (2012): Foreign policy actions can be undertaken using a variety of different instruments, ranging from adopting declarations, making speeches, negotiating treaties, giving other states economic aid, engaging in diplomatic activity such as summits, and the use of military force No matter which instruments are used, the primary objective of states in outlining their foreign policies is to maximise their national security. States can go about maximising national security through different means such as by military force, economic prosperity and/or the general welfare of its people. Difficult to analyse to what extent national security is a primary objective of states theories of IR will help explain states motives and how they go about maximising state security, if it is their prime objective at all. This essay will analyse the concept of national security through realism (focused on military power), liberalism (focused on cooperation through liberal internationalism) and constructivism (focused on wider definitions of security, such as health and the environment). A. Realism 1. Core principles of realist view of national security For realists, the concept of national security is an effective balancing of external threats. Because of technology, people these days lack the experience and courage to speak to each other without being timid or awkward. It has become a normal habit in our society to communicate through phones and laptops. Day by day, our generation is slowly developing a horrible future by losing social skills. Majority of of the current generation believe that internet is important and that we need technology to communicate. Also, humans believe that living a healthy life is important. Joseph created a remote switch that was used as part of a telegraph. Henry s remote idea was later used for improving telephones. It co existed with 120 people, mostly blacks who owned and farmed the surrounding land. On New Year s Day of that year, Fanny Taylor, a white woman in the nearby predominantly white town of Sumner, ran out of her house screaming, bruised and battered, claiming that a black man had assaulted her. In fact, the beating had been at the hands of her white lover. Fanny had lied so that her husband would not find out about her adultery. • 6. The Compact Cameras And My Pocket Sized Camera As a present, my husband announced that I was to research the newest compact cameras so that I could update my pocket sized camera. Previously I had a Kodak compact camera however the features were lacking and it was starting to eat batteries, it was time for a new camera. It was shocking to find that compact cameras have come a long way since the last time I purchase a compact camera just five years ago. There were many cameras to choose from and most were under $200.00. Here are my top eight picks for compact cameras for under $200.00. They are listed in no order of quality or price. 1. Sony Cybershot W120: If you are looking for a colorful camera to express yourself, this is the camera for you. It comes in the original silver, or one can choose the same camera in black, pink, blue, or red. Choosing a color is nice but I found that some colors were $50.00 or more, just to have a color on the outside case. Similar to the Olympus FE 300, it contains a 15 MB internal memory; 4x Optical Zoom; 2.5 1 LCD Display; Lithium Ion battery; and utilizes a Memory Stick Duo for memory. The only downside of the camera is that it contains only 7.2 Megapixels, much under the Olympus camera. I have talked to a friend that owns this camera which states that the camera is good for tons of lighting like outdoors but does not work well indoors with lower, florescent lighting. It can be purchased at just about any store for under $200.00, especially at Wal Mart. 2. Canon Powershot SD1100 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Importance Of Play With Toys With the amount of time children spend playing with toys, every parent or legal guardian of a child should be more prudent with the toys their children to play with. Playing is important to children. Play is one of the main ways children learn and toys are tools that help encourage that. Play with toys is extremely beneficial in ways people fail to realize. For example toys help teach motor skills and social skills and help them build creativity and exercise their muscles. Creativity in children is also developed during play. Children who get time off other duties to play become more attentive especially in their schoolwork. Leaving children to initiate their own kind of games, gives them room to become more creative as opposed to when they are supervised by an adult (Goldstein, 2012, p.13). The toys children play with affect their own interests and skills as a person during childhood, which influences their characteristics as a person in adulthood. First and foremost, play is essential to a child s development. Play is so important to optimal child development that it has been recognized by the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights as a right of every child (Play and Childrens, n.d.). Believe it or not play has been proven to be extremely beneficial for children of all ages. It contributes to the cognitive, physical, social and emotional well being of the child (Ginsburg, 2007, ). • 11. The Between Mind And Body There is no real answer for the question about if mind and body are the same or different, a person is made of mind and body and the both have different characteristics. Rene Descartes asked the question what am I. he gives and answer to the question by saying he is a thinking thig, if the body and mind are different from one other, mind can also continue with no body because it is not import for what he is. Moreover body is breakable and extender and mind is not breakable and non extended, that is a reason they are different in nature. Rene Descartes settled the metaphysical differences between the body and mind, but he also have to think about the relationship between mind and body. Mind and body are two different substances with many properties. Moreover the mind and body communicate, its and everyday experience, the actions that we do every day is from our thoughts. The relationship between the body and mind is much more close and special, it cannot be regenerated with any other physical substances. When anywhere in the body is wounded we feel pain and tries to not get injured again. Desires and thoughts have a connection with how the body behaves but the mind is able to take control of the body Descartes assumes that if it is possible to conceive of one thing without the other, then those two things are not identical. The self is not a body, it s not a physical thing without a body. He also argues that we can conceive of ourselves as existing. Thinking is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Class Is An Integral Part Of All Societies Division has become an integral part of all societies. These divisions range from gender, education, occupation and wealth. A combination of these and other dividing factors shape the manner in which and individual is perceived by their peers in a social setting. These factors make of the basis of a social class. Defined as a group of people who share economic resources that influence their lifestyles, class is ingrained in the minds of individuals in all societies. Although the elements that determines ones class may appear to be arbitrary they are integral to our daily interactions whether we would like to accept it or not. We base our perception of individuals on how they appear to us when we first encounter them. We then use these perceptions which are sometimes false and highly inaccurate to determine who will and will not interact with. In countries such as India class is so important that you are bestowed a class upon birth and no matter how low or high ranking it is, you are meant to stay within that class for the entirety of your life. This stringent system is called a caste. Although the class system seems arbitrary and unimportant in the modern United States it is extremely important because the division of classes allows for structured inequalities that have detrimental effects upon the populace. The United States is branded as the land of opportunity. In the poem The New Colossus by: Emma Lazarus the following is affirmed, Give me your tired, your poor, Your ... It was the first time I had been to an all inclusive island resort vacation and I had no idea what to expect. After leaving cold New Jersey on an early morning in February we got off the plan, only a few hours later and walked down a flight of steps off the airplane. The change in temperature immediately hit my face as I felt the heat and humidity of Turks and Caicos. It was a stark contrast from the snowy, cold climate we had just left in New Jersey a few hours earlier. • 19. The United States, Colonialism, And Imperialism Throughout american history, examples of the United States domination of the political, economic, and social aspects of other countries can be seen. This domination, also known as imperialism, was primarily caused by a growing sense of nationalism, the influence of supply and demand, and a desire to maintain global military power. Imperialism is categorized into three different groups: colony, protectorate, sphere of influence. TRANSITION SENTENCE Colony imperialism is when a territory or other area of lady is governed directly by a foreign country. A prime example of colony imperialism is the Purchase of Alaska. The United States Secretary of States, William Seward wanted Alaska since 1860 because of its potential trade value and resources such as timber, gold, and trout. The purchase of Alaska began in June 30th 1861 when gold was discovered in Alaska for the first time, sparking the United States and other colonizing powers interest in the territory. Russia feared that they would lose Alaska so they began to discuss selling it to the United State in 1866. . There was disapproval on both sides of the trade. Instead, simple imagery is utilized to describe a simplistic scene in which, so much depends / upon , leaving the reader to answer that question. (Williams, 1923, p. 563, lines 1 2). The Red Wheelbarrow therefore, is devoted to a single image, the image of a red wheelbarrow. Utilizing only sixteen words, the Red Wheelbarrow breaks the traditional boundaries between ideas or items with its rather consistent lines. Furthermore, this poem lacks any punctuation and proper grammar, yielding the idea that the stanzas never essentially begin or end (Kirszner, Mandell, 2017). Without proper punctuation, the lines run together, with no breaks or differentiation between a stanza and a couplet. Moreover, that the lines themselves appear to create a unity within themselves because each focuses on a single element. An example is that the wheelbarrow, the rain water, and the chickens are all grouped together (Williams, 1923).
