The Golden Age of Greece The golden age of Greece, especially the Periclean age of Athens, was
considered to be the defining age of Greek history. The amount of cultural and intellectual
innovation in Greece was at its height during the nearly 200 year period. From 500 300 BC, many
great thinkers and philosophers rose and gave many a new perspective on life.
As Matt Barrett explained, many philosopers, such as Socrates, dwelled in Athens, along with his
then pupil, Plato. Socrates was one of the first of the philosophers to believe that life was not for
collecting material possesions, or riches, but that it was for knowing oneself and the world around
oneself. Socrates was later executed and forced to drink Hemlock for corrupting the youth of the
city. Plato, Socrates pupil, was considered an idealist. Furthermore, according to Barrett, it is said

The aim of my report is to explain how the view of the afterlife in Ancient Greece has shaped works
of art, books and the mentality of people. In order to do this I am going to explore how ancient
Greek people saw the underworld as well as Roman people and the Renaissance period. Because
Greeks saw the underworld as a dark, dreadful and gloomy place, many of the works that refer to
it, either in Roman times or the Renaissance, are influenced by this view. In particular works like
the Odyssey by Homer or The Phaedo by Plato, explained to a certain level the structure of the
afterlife in ancient Greece. These two pieces of literature severely influenced works like the
book VI of the Aeneid by Virgil where he depicts the underworld referencing to the Greek point
of view. But a deeper description of the underworld is given by Dante in his Divine Comedy

Using the retrieval practice paradigm (Anderson, R. A. Bjork, E. L. Bjork, 1994), it was tested
whether or not retrieval induced forgetting could be found in item recognition test in terms of RT
and accuracy. In this experiment retrieval practice on items from semantic categories depressed
recognition of non practiced items from the same categories reflected in terms of RT and
accuracy. Also the results are consistent with the hypothesis that the accuracy in recognition of rp+
(Practiced items from practice categories) items will be highest followed by nrp (Unpracticed
items for the unpracticed categories) items and lowest for rp (Unpracticed items from the practiced

According to Brock Biology of Microorganisms, a genetically modified organism (GMO) is an
organism whose genome have been altered using genetic engineering (Madigan, Martinko, Bender,
Buckley, and Stahl, 2014). GM products include crops and animals, such as soy, cottonseed, alfalfa,
papaya, canola, and sugar beets. Throughout the years there has been arguments about the safety of
consuming GM products. Some countries believe that GMOs are not safe to consume while other
countries believe that they are safe to consume. More than 60 countries around the world, including
Australia, Japan, and all of the countries in the European Union, have restriction or bans the
