The Function Of The Human Mitochondrial Chaperonin
Crystal structure allows researchers to understand the functions of any compound. In biochemistry,
structure dictates function. With the use of crystal structure analysis, scientists have a better way of
analyzing specific proteins or enzymes and their function in our body. Observation of the human
mitochondrial chaperonin is important because it assists in folding of mitochondrial proteins that
allow for the production of energy in the cell. It also participates in specific process like apoptosis,
inflammation and carcinogenesis. The study presents the structure of these human mitochondrial
chaperonin to have an American football shaped intermediate. It consists of two 7 membered
chaperoning rings that are capped at each end. The symmetric and asymmetric bindings between the
rings of the chaperonin suggest a mechanism that is distinct from the mechanism of E. Coli.
Chaperonins are one our of the two types of chaperones that assist in protein folding. It does not
actually participate in protein folding, but isolates aggregated protein from other compounds to be able
to interact with its individual strand. It provides a stable environment that ensures proper folding. The
protein comes in contact with the Gro EL GroES complex that has a bullet or a symmetrical football
shaped complex. Here, the intermediate folding of protein is activated. They found that the human
mitochondrial heat shock protein 60 (mHsp60) and its cochaperonin, human mitochondrial heat shock

How Chiropractic Is A Discipline Of Health Science
What is Chiropractics?
Chiropractic is a discipline in health science that focuses on restoring health through basic and natural
hands on care without taking a surgical or long term medicinal approach. As most of us know that the
conventional allopathic medicinal approach targets curing the illness through a set of drug therapy or
surgery, the approach of chiropractic is totally different. The primary goal of chiropractic is to
alleviate back pain through spine adjustment. Because human spine is a very complex structure, the
primary avenue of care in chiropractic is to make your spine more flexible in order to improve your
mobility and strength. A licensed chiropractor does spine adjustment, spinal decompression, health
assessment for pain management and back bone alignment procedures.
A number of times, people suffering from intense back or joint pain complain about nerve pain too.
That s because the nerve existing in that joint doesn t get a free space due to misalignment of the spine
or joint bones. Because of the misaligned articulation of the joints, existing nerves can be hugely
affected. This is when a chiropractor makes some adjustment to align the joint bones or spinal bones.
In short, the chiropractor manually repositions these joints. This will reduce the pain associated with
the joints and improve your strength and flexibility. Origin:
The origin of this word is from a Greek work, which means procedures done by hand. Although the

Oranges are Not the Only Fruit and the two letters in The Color Purple The Chapter Joshua in Oranges
are Not the Only Fruit and the two letters in The Color Purple, where Sofia returns and later gets
brutally punished for her confrontation, both explore fundamental issues that characterize a lot of the
essence of both novels as a whole. At the heart of both of these two sections is the idea of fighting for
the truth and facing the consequences. Although Oranges are not the Only Fruit is written in a
retrospective light and The Color Purple in epistolary and consecutively in chronological order, there
are similarities within the two styles, they use similar techniques in getting across certain issues. The

She does not bow down to the white mayor s wife, she is as abrupt and bad tempered with her as she is
with Squeak. Jeanette fights to invent stories that help to describe her continuing painful
circumstances. In one allegorical section Jeanette enters the city of last chances. She has already gone
so far in pursuing her sexuality, and she ends up in the final disappointment. She can not go back and
has to choose. She controls this idea with I m about to become a buyer. i.e. She is going ahead with
her truth and is purchasing herself, rather than letting others buy it and dictate to her. Sofia also went
ahead with her fight, but came to a more tragic conclusion than Jeanette. Both deal with betrayal, in
the sense that Janet s mother buries her belongings and that Sofia has to deal with racial hatred. Of
course Sofia s is far more fundamental and it is more of having to deal with hate than betrayal. This is
evident in that the white folk never liked her, although the mayors wife did speak more kindly before
Sofia stuck up for the truth. Both sections also explore the comfort and protection Celie seeks and gets
from Shug and Jeanette from Melanie. On page109, Jeanette goes back to Melanie to seek love. Celie

Honesty In The Military
When leading a team there must be a mutual understanding and being honest with all involved. Being
honest will inspire others to be truthful, have sincerity and be forthrightness when volunteering
information that the other person may need to know. (Josephson, 2002, p. 8) This goes for both leaders
and non leaders being honest will always the best policy. Equally important, individuals need to stand
up for what they believe in as this will take courage and honesty. For example, both Abraham Lincoln
and Rosa parks exemplified courage and stood up for what they believed in. When the civil war
approached Washington, D.C., the President risked being shot in order to show support for his troops.

On the other hand, the aunt could have been upset because she was being questioned, but if she has
good intentions for her mother then there should be no problem to releasing that information rather
than go through a civil process in court. In addition, being sincere with words and actions will
eliminate untrue or misleading information. Leaders must work hard and be accurate to prevent
misunderstandings. It is important to remember not to play to the audience, and say different things to
different groups of people (Bushey, p. 5) as this will lead to a significant loss of trust and possible
arguments will be established. Always be honest, sincere and candid and never take advantage of
another person s trust, while at the same time there must be fairness. There may be times when
dishonesty may be justified, but this should only happen for safety reasons such as lying to criminals
or terrorists in order to save lives. When being dishonest it should only be for those reasons just stated
and not for winning a game or hitting a sales target to avoid confrontation. (Josephson, 2002, p.

Customer Equity. Customer Equity Is Essential To The...
Customer Equity
Customer equity is essential to the continued success of any company in the modern market. Whether
it s acquiring new customers, retaining existing customers, or simply looking for new ways to reach
existing customers, customer equity is an integral piece of any successful company.
Customer Acquisition
Since Class Pass is a new entrant in the online note sharing service market, customer acquisition will
be the most important activity that the company must focus on during the first year of operation. The
company will have to create a customer base sufficient enough to cover the cost of operation by the
first semester for future profitable operations. Customer acquisition will be costly due to the intense

With students graduating every year, they will quit using our service. Therefore, constant customer
acquisitions is required but at a much smaller scale after the first few years of operation. Class Pass
will have to target freshmen enrolling into the universities every year to create brand awareness
among the target market.
Customer Retention
Customer retention is as important as customer acquisition because the cost associated with customer
acquisition is more expensive the retaining customers in the long run. If customers are only going to
use the service for a year and switch to other competitors later, Class Pass will have to forego more
profitability to gain more sales using various pricing strategies and advertising strategies. These are
strategies that are costly compared to investing in customer service and service innovation that allows
Class Pass to attract both new customers while also retaining the existing ones. Having loyal
customers build up in the long run not only increase customer s lifetime value but also increase their
chances of helping Class Pass advertise through word of mouth, which in turn, decrease advertising
costs.
Defections in this industry are more or less around these few reasons below:

Unit 1 Tort Law
PA 310 Unit 1 Causes of Action Tort laws are laws that offer remedies to individuals harmed by the
unreasonable actions of others. Tort claims usually involve state law and are based on the legal
premise that individuals are liable for the consequences of their conduct if it results in injury to others.
Tort law only requires 4 elements to be shown. The first one is that the tortfeasor owes the injured
party a duty to do something or not to do something; two is that tortfeasor breached the duty, based on
the applicable standard of care that he/she is owed; three is that tortfeasor action or inaction is the
proximate cause of the injured party s injury; four is the injured party has in fact suffered some type of
injury (physical, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

purchase his daughter, respondent, and a car. In an effort to retrieve the car after the boyfriend s death,
appellant falsely reported the automobile as stolen. This resulted in the respondent husband s arrest
and detention in a police cell. Appellant was subsequently found liable for false imprisonment of
respondent husband and ordered to pay him compensatory and punitive damages. The reason why I

English Tort Law And The Public Sector
English Tort Law and the Importance of Duty of Care in the Public Sector (Based on the Kent v
Griffith Case from the year 2000)
Tort Law is concerned with accidental injuries and deals with the distribution of losses occurred
during those injuries. Every country has its own statutory law , thus according to these laws acts in its
own way in different situations. Public health and ambulance services are of great importance when it
comes to preventing injuries and damages. In the UK, before the 2000s, ambulances were not obliged
(by common law) to provide emergency service, but were rather considered an ordinary health care
provider. Therefore, in a lot of cases it would be difficult to put the liability on the defendant, which
automatically leads to a higher number of injuries and damages. In the case Kent v Griffith an
important outcome and rule is created, which creates the hope of decreasing damages significantly in
the future. I will argue that the duty of care in the health care system (especially ambulances) should
be treated with greater attention, as it can lessen enormous damages caused by delayed service and
unreasoned explanations. Furthermore, I will try and prove that, due to negligence, the damages
created by delayed services, thus lack of duty of care in the public sector, are far exceeding precaution
costs; Moreover, they harm the economy and social well being as well.
Duty of care can be viewed as a control device used for determining when the defendant

Go Ask Alice Is Written By An Anonymous Author Essay
The novel Go ask Alice is written by an anonymous author and is based on a diary kept by a
conventional teenager who then turns into a suicidal drug addict. What happens to Alice at one
unsavoury party changed her life forever. She is invited to Jill s party, someone she doesn t know well,
where her drink is unknowingly spiked with LSD. Not long after that Alice amassed a dependence on
drugs, for example she was unable to last even a few days sober. The author of the diary, Alice, has a
raw style and format of writing that fascinated me. The writing style exposed real emotions, and did
not hold back. It was as if Alice was talking to her best friend and thought that no one would see her
diary. I also think that because I am a teenager and so is Alice I was able to relate to the life she had
and the pressures she feels. Alice taught me that even saying yes once to drugs, could lead to life
threatening consequences. The themes I noticed were, the influence of the media, the highs and lows
of teenage life and the dangers of drug use.
Something I found unique about the book was the style and format. Go ask Alice is one of the few
books I have read that was written in diary form, I liked the way that it skipped from one day to the
next yet still kept making sense. I also enjoyed the way the writer described the highs on drugs, as not
many other books with powerful moral messages surrounding the dangers of drugs actually expose
what it is like to be on drugs. The book s honesty

Bridging Trial Case Study
The BRIDGE trial, conducted by Douketis and associates,1 was a randomized, multicenter, double
blind, placebo controlled trial that questioned the need for anticoagulation bridging in patients with
atrial fibrillation, who are undergoing an invasive procedure that requires interruption of warfarin
therapy. The primary efficacy outcome was arterial thromboembolism, which includes stroke,
transient ischemic attack, and systemic embolism, whereas the secondary efficacy outcomes were
acute myocardial infarction, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and death. The primary and
secondary safety outcomes were major and minor bleeding, respectively. Patients eligible for this trial
must have been 18 years or older, had chronic atrial fibrillation or flutter, been on warfarin therapy for
at least 3 months, had an international normalized ratio (INR) of 2.0 to 3.0, were undergoing an
elective invasive procedure that required discontinuation of warfarin therapy, and had at least one

The analysis also demonstrated no significant difference between the groups when it came to the
secondary outcomes: acute myocardial infarction (p=0.1), deep vein thrombosis (p=0.25), pulmonary
embolism (p=0.25), and death (p=0.88). However, the bridging group had a significantly higher risk of
major (p=0.005) and minor ( 0.001) bleeding than the placebo group. Overall, the authors concluded
that, in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing invasive procedures, forgoing bridging was
noninferior to bridging with a low molecular weight heparin for atrial thromboembolism prophylaxis
and that there was a clinical benefit in forgoing bridging due to the lower risk of major and minor

Informative Speech On Vaping
Imagine you are laying in a hospital bed. You wake up, the first thing you see is your doctor and you
hear him say, I m sorry, you have lung cancer. This is a situation that far too many people have had to
go through; especially those who smoke. According to the World Health Organization, tobacco kills
around 6 million people a year. This is alarming and certainly unacceptable, especially when there is
an effective, safer alternative. This alternative is called vaping .
Most people are very skeptical about the term. It is very easy to make assumptions about things that
you are not knowledgeable about. Also, when it comes to such a broad and controversial term, it is
even more so tempting to make these assumptions. Today I am here to bring you information. I will
inform you about what vaping really is, how it works, and some interesting statistics as well.
The basic definition of vaping is to inhale and exhale the vapor produced by an electronic cigarette or
similar device (Dictionary). If you have never heard of the term or have simply not researched it, you
may have quite a few questions. Questions such as, What is vapor? , What is an electronic cigarette
and how do they work? , and Are they dangerous? . These are frequently asked questions dealing with
the topic of vaping in general. I am here today to provide you with current and accurate answers to
these questions.

Examining Adolescent Thought and Actions in the Journal Entitled Adolescence
From peer pressure to alcohol and drug problems adolescents face many difficult decisions in today s
world. Adolescent psychologists study these problems and the way that adolescents react to them. The
reason why they are studied is so that people can have an insight in to the mind of an adolescent.
Many of the psychologists use the knowledge that is gained, from their research, to write research
papers and books. Many of these books and research papers are submitted to different psychological
journals. These journals are then sent out all over the world to many different universities and libraries
to be enjoyed and analyzed by all. The point of this paper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the author is lucky he/she will receive a reply in a couple of weeks requesting that their paper be
sent to the journal in order to be printed in an upcoming issue. For a book to be reviewed all that the
author has to do is send the book to the journal and hope that it is reviewed and included in an
upcoming issue. The name of the article that was chosen is Image Advertisements for Alcohol
Products: Is Their Appeal Associated with Adolescents Intention to Consume Alcohol. The authors of
this article are Ruth W. Edwards and Kathleen J. Kelly. Ruth Edwards is a research scientist at the Tri
Ethnic Center for Drug Abuse Prevention at Colorado State University. She also has a PhD in
psychology. The other author, Kathleen Kelly, is a professor in the college of business at Colorado
State University. This article is setup in a research paper format that spans across thirteen pages in the
journal. This article is considered to be a research paper because the data and experiments contained
within it suggest that it is research data. The basis that the authors had for this article was to determine
if image alcohol ads influenced adolescents to drink more than product advertisements. The way that
they wanted to accomplish this task was to run experiments to try and see how the advertisements
affected the choices of the adolescents. The authors found a test group that

Biblical Flood Myth of Genesis and the Flood Myth of the...
The Flood of the Bible and the Flood of Gilgamesh The story of Noah s Ark, as told in the old
testament, tells how God punished the world because it had become corrupt. God accomplished this
by flooding the world, and annihilating all the creatures upon it, except for Noah and his family and a
pair of each type of creature on the earth. Each decade, more insight is gained into the origin of the
flood story. Based on the information available at the present time, one could argue that the story of
Noah s Ark was based on the Epic of Gilgamesh. The story of Noah s Ark was first written as part of
the old testament by the Jewish people. However, it is predated by far by the story of the Epic of
Gilgamesh, a story that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dimensions of the ship underwent some drastic changes however, quite possibly because the
dimensions of Gilgamesh s boat were rather unreasonable: Equal shall be her width and her length... .
Both Gilgamesh and Noah received 7 days notice, and after the flood ceased, both employed doves
and ravens as scouts to determine if the land was dry yet (Gilgamesh also employed a swallow, but the
results of its trip did not greatly differ from the first trip of the dove in Noah s tale ). After the flood
waters recessed, and the ships were able to empty their contents, both Noah and Gilgamesh also
offered sacrifices to their respective gods, Noah with burnt offerings and Gilgamesh with a libation he
poured on the mountainside where his ship came to rest. The other really large change was that God
showed some signs of remorse and sorrow in Noah s tale, opposed to Gilgamesh s tale, where God
showed little involvement beyond the initial instructions and the flood itself. It was Gilgamesh alone
who displayed sorrow for the loss of his people. The shift of sympathy from Gilgamesh to God,
however, does good to accommodate the Christian and Jewish perspective of a loving and forgiving
God, who would only sweep the world of his own creations at a deep sentimental price. This idea is
further confirmed by his promise never to commit such an act again after the flood ceases: Never
again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every

Review Of Sci Fi
Sci fi Paper Synopsis My sci fi paper will be about humanity s first trip to Mars. It will explore the
challenges, as well as the luxuries, of being on this first manned mission to Mars. A crew of over 100
of the Earth s best scientists travel to a new world to explore and start a colony. This paper will follow
closely with Elon Musk s current plan to put humans on Mars in the not so distant future, and will
look into the advanced technologies developed for this purpose.
A New World
(Intro) There are many questions that need to be answered about how to successfully put humans on
Mars and eventually colonize this new world. Yet there are also several new technological advances
that have been made or are planned for the near future that will make this groundbreaking mission
possible. Some of these critical questions that need to be answered include the following: How will
humans have access to drinkable water on Mars? How will humans handle and adapt to a lower
gravity environment? What kind of rocket will be used to send humans to Mars? When can we expect
that technology to be ready? How is all of this technology supposed to work to put humans on Mars?
By answering these questions, we will create a picture of what it will look like when humans finally
make it to Mars and start to colonize that new world. Before we dig into the details of the technology,
it is important to first ask, why should humans go to Mars? What do we gain from going to Mars?

It may not be the teacher s performance that is affecting the students test scores. The students may not
develop on the same level that the standardized test are wanting them develop at. Tests scores are
unreliable, but they still are more often right than wrong, but not sufficiently more often to justify
making high stakes decisions on the basis of test scores alone.
No Child Left Behind: What We Know and What We Need to Know talks about how the No Child
Left Behind holds the educational agencies and states accountable for the education of the students
and their performances inside the classroom. The NCLB wants to accomplish this goal by using
Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) this measures how the students are doing inside the classroom. There
are some problems with the AYP it allows the states to pick their own standards of test scores and
proficiency levels. When the states make up their own rules on how to measure the AYP the studies
are finding out that the AYP is having an enormous impact in the schools that meet the AYP. Discusses
the problems we have with how we measure and calculate the effectiveness of how the schools are
doing with the NCLB. The article talks about how the NCLB is to improve schools for the
underperforming students. The connection is the article tells the readers how they measure the
progress of the AYP. So pertaining to my question of should the standardized tests be the only way of
testing students?

Orthopedic And Spine Institute ( Osi )
Orthopedic Spine Institute (OSI) would like to provide residents with a new and convenient option for
receiving urgent orthopedic care services. Staffed by a board certified physician and a fellowship
trained physician assistant (PA) as well as technicians to handle imaging, casts, and splints. The
average wait for a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon is three to four weeks. When possible the
patients will be placed on the schedule of an orthopedic surgeon that is available the day of their
injury. However, if the schedule is full the patient receives care from the PA or board certified Family
Medicine physician with a subspecialty in sports medicine. This will give the newer orthopedic
surgeons an opportunity to see new patients, when this is not possible the patients will be still be able
to receive the care they need by the PA without having to wait for an appointment. With a new
orthopedic group from a town sixty miles away opens an office across the street, the clinic must make
the time to see the patients of our community.
Marketing Highlights Patients would otherwise call the other established orthopedic clinic in the area
or may try and schedule with the new group from Sioux Falls who recently opened an office across
from OSI and have applied for privileges at the three area hospitals. We will retain and obtain new
patients whose injuries may lead to a surgical procedure.

Why Std Should Be Allowed In Schools
When a child is growing up, they go through many changes. When they go through these changes in
their early life, they expect to be guided or to be helped by their parents. Before the child attend
school, and is introduced to another environment, they have already grown a high sense of
understanding within their parents. This means, they are very comfortable with approaching them with
difficulties he/she face throughout life or even personal information he/she need to be informed about.
This sense of trust, understanding, and security carries with the child all through his/her life. So, even

As in STDs, they teach the children different types of sexually transmitted disease, how they occur,
their symptoms, and the image of the disease. The only problem with that is they do not explain the
chance of risks engaging in sexual activities. They do not provide the students with the fact that one in
four sexually transmitted disease cases diagnosed each year involves teenagers. As for pregnancies,
they do discuss the risk of becoming pregnant. But, they do not discuss what affect a pregnancy at
such a young age could bring. Or even, how much of a life changing situation it is.
On the other hand, many believe sex education should be a high priority in schools. Their beliefs leads
them to think the effectiveness of this material being taught in schools could reduce teen pregnancies,
the rate of STDs, and also would not increase sexual activity. To support, there are more than 135 non
profit organizations whose common goal is to provide sex education to the young. Researchers believe
that the sex education taught in schools could reduce the amount of sex partners, delay student s first

The Political and Social Changes in Western Europe Essay
Western European people had endured a series of changes during the late medieval period. Changes
can be categorized into two aspects: politically and socially. On politics, Popes were not as strong as
they were due to conflicts between the state and the church. Socially, people began to live a religion
dominated life, and experienced active sexism towards women. These changes, either positive or
negative, have become an undivided part of European History. People faced the rise and the fall of the
Catholic Church during the medieval time. The Popes used to hold the final authority for the church
and over the state. Pope Gregory VII asserted the Pope had granted the divine power from God
because Saint Peter was the first of getting this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
King Philip s advisers challenged the Pope by quoting the Roman Law, which stated that the King of
France was completely sovereign in his kingdom and responsible to God alone (McKay, 364). Not
long King Phillip arrested Pope Boniface VIII in Italy and had foreshadowed later conflicts between
the church and the state in the 14th century. The decline of church power became even more apparent
during the Babylonian Captivity (1309 1376). Pope Clement V s agreement on King Philip s request
of settlement in Avignon in southwestern France first signified the Pope s leadership and authority had
been weakened. Furthermore, after Gregory XI s death, Urban VI (1378 1389) had been planning on
church reform, but his endorsement of opposition among the hierarchy had triggered a serious of
disaster. As a result, Cardinal Robert of Geneva was elected to be Pope and took the name Clement
VII. The situation became two popes in office: Urban at Rome and the anti pope Clement VII at
Avignon, hence marked the beginning of the Great Schism. France immediately recognized the
antipope Clement while Aragon, Castile and Portugal follow suit. For England, they recognized Urban
VI and the

Environmental Factors Influence On Behaviors
On the nature verse nurture debate, it is difficult to choose one side. On one hand biology and genetics
can influence individuals. It can cause them to be more social, have disorders, and even be the cause
of social factors. On the other hand, nurture also has an effect on the behaviors of individuals. Both of
them are scientifically proven to have an effect on an individual s personality and behaviors. There is
evidence that suggest that neither one of them is completely responsible for behaviors, they both play
major roles. From the perspective of a scientist, they may see biological factors to have a stronger
influence, but from a sociologist perspective they may see social and environmental factors as being
more influential. After extensive research, I believe environmental factors have a greater influence on
the behaviors and personalities of individuals.
The debate of whether nature or nurture are the main causes of behavior have been around for years.
In my opinion, environmental factors have a larger influence on an individual s behavior, rather than
genetic factors. The environment that a child is raised in is a key factor in how they are going to
behave as they grow up. A household filled with rude and ignorant members is more likely to produce
a child with the same qualities, than a household of welcoming and respectful people. These morals,
values and beliefs form a system that facilitates decision making throughout the course of an

Letter To Communism
Dear, Editor of the Los Angeles Times,
Good Afternoon, let me formally introduce myself. I am the set designer for the Hollywood movie
production company that you may be very aware of. I am reaching out as I have a few conferences
revolving around the actions of communists that have been acknowledged around Hollywood that
have been confirmed by Mr. Senator Joseph McCarthy. I do not know if you are aware but many
Actors, good Actors with that being said are losing their jobs and it s costing the production loss of
money. This hunt needs to be settled in a proper manly matter and needs to be stopped. We all know

McCarthyism looks like he has had a fear of the situation revolving the red scare. The red scare went
above and beyond and lead communists to a position that people really didn t think it was ever going
to be possible to reach. Mr. McCarthy is a senator that started taking actions of his own to go ahead
and look for United States citizens that were supporting and cheering on the communist for his
benefit. The red scare was already a big time situation that had everyone on their feet scared of
different possible outcomes within our own society. McCarthy will only be making our society more
terrified and not going the right path. McCarthy started his journey to find these U.S Citizen that said
were communist through the department of state. While getting in their mission was to go for bigger
groups and wanted to target the military. Once he saw and realized that his mission can possibly fail,
he decided to target Hollywood movie companies. By doing so, he boycott a few famous actors which
was later known to the public as Black Hollywood List. He targeted actors as well as productions and
writers. McCarthy then created another Black Hollywood list that promoted ten famous actors which
he believed were communist which made more publication and talk. This led to famous Hollywood
actors to lose their jobs and positions on roles with production companies. These actors became the
actual target which led to the end of their acting careers.Mr. McCarthy went against many
amendments of this country. This whole time his focus has been to force innocent people into helping
him find different communist for no positive result. He obviously does not have the support of the
group of people he left jobless including the middle and needy class. He continues to do wrong acts
that are only being supported by the rich. He needs to be stopped in order for us to be able to not live

First, Dubai is the name of city of UAE and it is one of Arabic country. Second, the climate of Dubai

three are my main idea for this essay. When I lived in Dubai, I have been to 5 star hotel, the world
highest tower, and the world biggest shopping mall. All of them were awesome, so I recommend to
you to go there. However, summer in Dubai is terribly hot and sometimes it reaches to 50 degrees.
Therefore, I recommend you to go there in autumn season which is from December to February, but
autumn season is windy and Dubai has a huge desert, so if you want to see a great breathtaking view

The Formation Of The European Union
The formation of the European Union was a turning point in the stability of relationships between
European countries, allowing the exploration of true diplomacy among the nations, and it brought
along the possibility of peace through the exchange of people and support. The European Union was
jump started and driven by its desire to be able to stay in economic competition with both the Soviet
Union and the United States of America.
The purpose of the European Union (EU) was to bring European countries together to help ease both
political and economic relationships in Europe. The formation of this group made up of a family of
democratic European countries was created for the sole purpose of mutually beneficial economic and
political peace which was exactly what was needed in the 1950 s. The EU is unique so unlike anything
that has ever been, and the idea for it came to be while the world was still recovering from the
catastrophic economic affects that were brought along by World War II which ended in 1945. Europe
was drastically affected by the war having been caught in the middle, and since most of Europe was
used as a battlefield a lot of it was left to nothing more than rubble. European countries quickly came
to the realization that if they ever had to handle this sort of situation again in the future they would
again fall, and thus began the inspiration for a change. They came to the conclusion that the more

Abstract Idea Of American Freedom
As the United States entered WWII, the abstract idea of American freedom came to mean different
things to different demographics of people. FDR condensed American freedom into the Four
Freedoms Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom from Want, and Freedom from Fear.
Essentially, these freedoms served as an ideological basis and justification for America s involvement
in WWII and shift from its previous isolationist policy. According to Foner, FDR described [America
s] protections against tyrannical government as defining characteristics of American life, central to
other rights of free men and free women (918). FDR espoused the the Four Freedoms in a crusade for

Craft Brewing Goes Public In August 1995, Paul Shipman, the CEO of Alridge Brewing (AB)
prepared himself to enter uncharted territory. A craft brewing operation had never before been taken
public in the United States, and he and his management team were about to do just that. Sure, there
were massive large batch breweries like Anheuser Busch and Miller Brewing Company that were
profitable, publicly traded firms but there was something different about Alridge: it embodied the
ethos and grassroots beginnings of the microbrew movement, and Shipman was confident that
widespread market demand for craft beer was set to explode. He and the team had steadily developed

The Ethics Of The Law Essay
When it comes to large sums of money, it is not uncommon for the spender to feel they have been
ripped off or become over protected. The practice of law is no exception to this phenomenon, and
crocked lawyers and paralegals have negatively contributed to the notion. On several occasions law
professionals have taken client money for personal use, acting against the law and rules of
professional conduct. Although lawyers and paralegals have their own individual rules and guidelines
to abide by, they follow the same professional structure of proper conduct. The rules of conduct for
paralegals is governed by the Law Society of Upper Canada and is the governing body responsible for
reports of misconduct. Further investigations will lay out the proper procedures and tasks that must be
completed when a paralegal encounters an accusations of misconduct, specifically when a client
accuses a paralegal of misappropriating money from the clients trust fund. When it comes to possible
options it is important to remember that by proactively sending a report of the circumstance to the
Law Society of Upper Canada with a detailed list of events, bookkeeping and accounts billed to the
client will help your case prior to the client reporting you to the Law Society. Should a paralegal
choose to ignore the threat of the client, in hopes that the client will not follow through with higher
involvement, the paralegal will then face an audit by the Law Society. If the Law Society is apprised

The Role Of Forbidden Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a world famous play that was first performed in 1594, written by William
Shakespeare. Forbidden love is considered the most influential type of love in the play. In fact, it is
parental love which is extremely prominent and the most significant type of love in the play Romeo
and Juliet. This type of love can be between a parent and child or a guardian and child. The parent is
meant to lead, guide, and protect and not all of the guardian figures in the play do that. Considering
the actions and words of Lord and Lady Capulet, Lord and Lady Montague, and the Nurse, determines
that parental love influences the play and the fate of young Romeo and Juliet. Lord and Lady Capulet
are the parents of Juliet and have a great love for their only daughter. The Capulet parents do not show
their love in the typical way at the beginning of the play and the fact that Juliet does not realize their
love influences her choices. Capulet believes he is doing the right thing for his daughter by marrying
her to Count Paris. Lord Capulet states: O Thursday let it be: o Thursday, tell her, She shall be married
to this noble earl (III. iv, 20 21). He thinks he is doing the right thing for his daughter; this marriage
might cheer her up because he supposes she is sad about her cousin s death. Juliet does not recognize
her parents are acting the way they are is out of love and she may have made less extreme decisions.

Global Value Chains And Its Impact On The World Economy
Modern production is increasingly growing around the so called global value chains. According to
World Trade Report for 2014, they are one of the main trends in modern economy and trade. Their
growth in the last two decades have not only significantly change the nature of the world economy,
but also had a strong influence on individual countries. However, the extent and nature of these effects
are still not well understood by experts.
Typically the value chain include the steps of: design, production, marketing, distribution and after
sales customer service. These steps may exist within the same company and shared between many
firms. The fact that a growing number settles in various countries indicates the globalization of value

Understanding the functioning of the administrative structures needed to assess the impact of
economic policy on businesses and the location of production.
The concept of global value chains was born back in the 1970s. This could be classified as commodity
chains . The main idea of this chains is to trace the transformation of the entire set of source materials
and the cost of products and turning them into a final product consumption. Later, the global supply
chains were traced on the example of garments ranging from raw materials (cotton, wool, synthetic
fibers) and ending with the final product (clothing).
In the 2000s, there was a transformation of the concept of global commodity chains in the concept of
global value chains. The second concept is trying to determine the most important factors of the
organization of global industries, it offers a theoretical basis and practical tools to analyze value chains
and different types of management. The idea of the value chain has been proposed by Michael Porter
in his book Competitive Advantage to identify the sources of competitive advantage through analysis
of certain types of activity of the company. In foreign economic literature makes a clear distinction
between the chains, initiated by producers and buyers. Value chain divides the company s operations
in the strategically important activities to examine the costs and existing and possible means of
differentiation. The competitive

Analysis of Greasy Lake by Tom Coraghessan Essay examples
Analysis of Greasy Lake by Tom Coraghessan
Greasy Lake by Tom Coraghessan Boyle, is the story of a group of adolescents, searching for the one
situation that will proclaim them as bad boys and how their minds change. As the story begins, the
narrator gives the impression that he feels he and the others boys should have taken notice of some
obvious clues about themselves. These clues would have led them to the conclusion that they were far
from the bad guys they wished to be. However, the oblivious teenagers ignore these obvious signs and
continue in search of their goal.
In this story, Boyle uses many symbols to create the theme. The individual vehicles are each symbols

The discovery of the biker s body is the turning point in not only the story, but also in the narrator s
life. In a short time, he has been beaten, has knocked out someone with a tire iron, almost raped a
woman, found a dead body, and watched his mother s Bel Air station wagon be destroyed. Which was
all done for the rush of excitement. While hiding in the water that was previously seen as a tarn of
doom, with all the nights occurrences spinning in his head, he has an epiphany. Standing there he
realizes what becomes of tough guys and discovers that he has found his salvation within his true self.
Accordingly, as the narrator emerges from Greasy Lake, he is a new person with a newly discovered
perspective. As the sun is rising and the songs of birds replace the sounds of crickets, he leaves the
pool of once dismal waters (Boyle 118). This signals his rebirth and his baptism as a reformed
adolescent.
The narrator shares this story from his youth in the words of an educated man. His actions as a teen
are in stark contrast to his phraseology as an adult. Early in the story, he viewed nature as sex, drugs
and rock and roll (Boyle 112 113). However, as the story ends and the turmoil subsides, the narrator
sees nature for the first time, through the eyes of a person matured by this traumatic experience. The
sun firing buds and opening blossoms replaced the once revered beer and

Different people have different understandings of American Dream and different ways to pursue their

Why Home Schooling Should Be Encouraged
Home Schooling Should Be Encouraged Home schooling is becoming an increasingly popular choice
of education for parents in the United States of America. Homeschooling refers to the practice of
parents educating a child at home, rather than in a conventional public or private school setting (Hess
and Okun). This can take the form of individual instruction by a single teacher at home or in a small
group setting with combined resources of teachers and materials. It was estimated in a 1999 report by
the U.S. Department of Education that more than 850,000 students were being educated at home. This
number was increasing at rate of 7 to 15 percent annually (Hess and Okun). The numbers are
increasing because of the advantages for home school students. In order to promote individualized
learning, creativity, and self confidence, home schooling should be considered for more students.
Home schooling promotes individualized learning. Individualized learning is a learning environment
where a student and a teacher have one on one teaching situation. The teacher is able to focus on the
individual student. This method is beneficial because the instructor is able to focus and identify the
student s strengths, weaknesses, and needs immediately. This enables the student to know if he or she
is on the right track in the learning process. The student is better able to learn faster and cover more
material. Another reason individualized learning should be promoted is the student is able to have a
more in depth understanding of the content because it is tailored to the individual s learning styles.
These learners benefit because they are also able to get feedback as soon as the instructor examines
the work. This prevents the student from learning the subject incorrectly. Individualized learning is
obviously an advantage for home schooling students. The success of individualized learning is shown
in that some preliminary researcher suggests that children who are home schooled may outperform
their counterparts in public or private schools (Hess and Okun). When children are not in a classroom
full of other students, their creativity can flourish. Gillian Bowditch states that Home educated
children are invariably described as

Oppression In John Steinbeck s The Grapes Of Wrath
Introduction On June 6, 2014, two tornadoes tore through the small town of Pilger, Nebraska. After
the storm ended, the residents of the town banded together to rebuild their town. Over the next two
years, the residents of Pilger worked together to rebuild their community with the help of many other
communities around them. Though their town had been destroyed, the community united in the midst
of it all to rebuild their homes (Driscoll). In John Steinbeck s The Grapes of Wrath, the migrant
workers faced opposition from Californian residents. Like the people in Pilger, Nebraska, the migrant
workers worked together to help one another out. In The Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck focuses on the
central idea that when society is against a group of people, the people band together to help one
another out. To accomplish this, Steinbeck uses excellent characterization to show how each of his
unique characters united with others when faced with oppression.

Pros And Cons Of Net Neutrality
Net Neutrality Regulation Pros As previously stated, net neutrality is a complex subject and it has
many layers. One issue of major of concern is that of fast lanes and the establishment of net neutrality
would prevent ISPs from forming these types of connections. Simplified, a fast lane is line of service
that provides faster upload and download speeds. A fast lane would allow ISPs to charge companies
such as Netflix, Skype, PlayStation Plus, and other streaming services for faster connections that
would allow consumers to access the services easier and faster. Proponents of net neutrality worry that
the extra expenses for fast lanes could become a formidable challenge for startups and small business
owners. Large corporations typically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many neutrality proponents contend that failing to develop and enforce net neutrality will lead to the
ability of ISPs to block access to content. Currently, there is a freedom of choice in that ISPs are
unable to obstruct certain sites or contents over others but that hasn t always been the case. There have
been several cases over the last few years where ISPs have moved to block internet content. Comcast
is probably the best known culprit. In the early to mid 2000 s, Comcast monitored network traffic
patterns and began blocking certain websites (Ammori, 2014). The sites that were targeted were those
that are known as peer to peer. Peer to peer (P2P) sites utilize technology that allow users to share data
without having a centralized server. There have been instances where illegal data has been shared but
it would be impossible for an ISP to determine that simply from traffic patterns. Peer to peer sites are
not the only ones that have been targeted. In 2005, an ISP in North Carolina moved to block traffic
that allowed users to access Vonage, an application that allows users to make telephone calls via the
internet. AT T had a contract with Apple that asked AT T to block all applications that offered video
chat over a cellular network. This allowed Apple s application, Facetime, to become the preferred
application of iPhone

Ha Coming To America Analysis
Numerous numbers of refugees around the world identical to Ha and her family faced individual
struggles that cause them to have the feeling of inside out, such as having difficulty of not know the
language barrier. For example, Ha had a difficult time learning English upon arriving in America.
Whoever invented English must have loved snakes (Lai, 118) At school now in America, Ha is
learning a new language, it is roughly hard for her sometimes to make words plural and difficult to
establish the new ways of her new life. At the same time, multiple refugees from Bhutan had no

Essay On The Story Of A Story
Early the next morning, Jerrit awoke the party and had everyone eat a hasty breakfast. After a telling
look at Sarah, he explained to them why he was bandaged and had Petrin help him to tighten the
bindings. While doing so, Petrin noticed that Jerrit s breathing was rapid and shallow. As they finished
their meager meal Dirac came into the camp followed by a single horse.
The raiding party is about six hours ahead of us at your human walking speed. If you had more horses,
we could quickly overtake them, but your other horses who escaped the attack are gone. I followed
their trail for an hour back toward your farm and this is the only horse I found.
I am so sorry we bolted sir, apologized the horse. It was the chestnut mare named Claire. ... Show

They can return with the King s soldiers and they will be able to easily follow our trail. If we catch the
raiders, we will only follow them waiting until help arrives. Petrin did not like this plan, but he could
not dissuade the determined trio and Jerrit clearly needed help quickly. He worked with Sarah and
Philip to sort through the packs and they rapidly made up small bundles for Sarah and Phillip to carry.
While doing so, he gave them some advice. Jerrit mentioned that this was a Shadoch raiding party.
They are a brutal and very dangerous people. We rarely see them in Emradon and it is odd that the
path Dirac found leads to the southeast. The Shadoch do hire out as mercenaries, and they appear to
have been sent to attack us so it may have been a plot hatched by Stenland. We have not been on
friendly terms with them of late. It is all quite strange. But, you must be very careful if you get near
them.
Each of the children armed themselves with hunting daggers from the pile of supplies. Philip also
picked up a bow, similar to the one he had been using for practicing, and a quiver of arrows. When
they were ready, Sarah asked Clair to kneel and they were able to get Jerrit up on her and secure him
with a length of rope. Petrin then slowly led Clair with her inert load, up the hill. The last the children
saw of them, they were disappearing over the crest of the hill at the road.

The Pros And Cons Of Marijuana Legalization
What is Marijuana? According to Dictionary.com, Marijuana is, a preparation made from the dried
flower clusters and leaves of the cannabis plant, usually smoked or eaten to induce euphoria
(marijuana). Marijuana, also known as Mary Jane , is drawn out to be an extremely horrible, life
ruining drug. Children learn that marijuana is a gateway drug and that it only does harm. Though it
can be quite addictive, Marijuana is safer than commonly used drugs like Tobacco and could possibly
be more helpful medically than many of the prescription drugs currently available. The legalization of
Marijuana would have an extremely advantageous effect on the economy, healthcare, and focus of
police on more violent criminal activity of the United ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She says that the states legalizing Mary Jane need to make sure its positive effects outweigh the
negative effects with research over many things that could possibly be Marijuana induced. In some
ways, she is correct. Areas that are legalizing Marijuana need to make sure it is used correctly, as
Alcohol is. If an increase in crime rate or DUIs is seen, and the culprits test positive for THC, then
Marijuana legalization may have to be repealed because of dangerous effects on communities. As
Janne Nikkinen stated, In the US, legalization of marijuana has been accomplished by using gambling
as model how to gain acceptance for addictive product, and use of tax revenues seems to follow at
least first the pattern developed for lottery proceeds, (Nikkinen 476 484). Jane Nikkinen displays the
addictiveness and tax revenue of Marijuana in comparison to the addictiveness and tax revenue of
gambling. In gambling, you just want to keep betting more and more money even though you may be
losing tremendous amounts. It s similar to the United States 20+ Trillion debt (we just keep on
borrowing even though we are already have a colossal debt looming over our heads). Likewise,
Marijuana can become immensely addictive to regular users making it so that they just want it
increasingly more often. The tax revenues are similar because the government makes a ton of money
off of both gambling and legal Marijuana sales, so the addictiveness is not presented as

Character Analysis Of Hippolytus
The play Hippolytus was written by Euripides, the same writer as the play in Medea. In some ways,
this is a story of lies and misunderstandings. I don t really have a character that I liked the most, I
thought that Hippolytus, Phaedra, and Theseus all have different good and bad, likeable and unlikable
traits. At the first part of the play, we are introduced to Aphrodite. She is the goddess of love and
something. In her introduction, she also mentioned the part of the problem which cause all the event to
start. Aphrodite took notice on one of the mortals who disrespects her greatly Hippolytus, who said
that Aphrodite is was the worst of all gods. Hippolytus, who vowed to himself to never marry a
woman, worships the virgin goddess Artemis instead. But what fuels Aphrodite s anger is that
Hippolytus has no disrespect for the goddess of love. As a god, I think this is a great insult to their
power, especially to an Olympian gods and gods whom are loved by many. Because of that, Aphrodite
decides to punish Hippolytus and started her plan. Next, enter Hippolytus, the child of Theseus and the
Amazonian, Hippolyta. In the beginning, Hippolytus doesn t seem to be an arrogant man, he seemed
to be an honorable and honored the gods properly, mainly Artemis. But, when the goddess Aphrodite
was mentioned, his distaste of women started to peak out of the cover. But I think his point of view
comes from spotlighting the negative things of women. When the Nurse went against the Queen s
wishes, Hippolytus mentioned how stupid women wouldn t be so much trouble while smart women
(maybe like Medea) would go behind their husband s back and plot some things while the servant
execute the plot. Other characteristics of Hippolytus that made him such a likeable character in the
play was that he is an honorable man. After the horrifying fact given by the Nurse, and the accusation
from his father of defiling Theseus marriage bed, Hippolytus still kept his oath to stay quiet. Even
when he was exiled and his reasoning were all rejected Hippolytus goes willingly. Phaedra is
somewhat the main victim of the play, even though it can easily be argued that Hippolytus is the main
victim. From the reading, I think Phaedra s main fault was to

  • 2. The Function Of The Human Mitochondrial Chaperonin Crystal structure allows researchers to understand the functions of any compound. In biochemistry, structure dictates function. With the use of crystal structure analysis, scientists have a better way of analyzing specific proteins or enzymes and their function in our body. Observation of the human mitochondrial chaperonin is important because it assists in folding of mitochondrial proteins that allow for the production of energy in the cell. It also participates in specific process like apoptosis, inflammation and carcinogenesis. The study presents the structure of these human mitochondrial chaperonin to have an American football shaped intermediate. It consists of two 7 membered chaperoning rings that are capped at each end. The symmetric and asymmetric bindings between the rings of the chaperonin suggest a mechanism that is distinct from the mechanism of E. Coli. Chaperonins are one our of the two types of chaperones that assist in protein folding. It does not actually participate in protein folding, but isolates aggregated protein from other compounds to be able to interact with its individual strand. It provides a stable environment that ensures proper folding. The protein comes in contact with the Gro EL GroES complex that has a bullet or a symmetrical football shaped complex. Here, the intermediate folding of protein is activated. They found that the human mitochondrial heat shock protein 60 (mHsp60) and its cochaperonin, human mitochondrial heat shock protein ... • 3. How Chiropractic Is A Discipline Of Health Science What is Chiropractics? Chiropractic is a discipline in health science that focuses on restoring health through basic and natural hands on care without taking a surgical or long term medicinal approach. As most of us know that the conventional allopathic medicinal approach targets curing the illness through a set of drug therapy or surgery, the approach of chiropractic is totally different. The primary goal of chiropractic is to alleviate back pain through spine adjustment. Because human spine is a very complex structure, the primary avenue of care in chiropractic is to make your spine more flexible in order to improve your mobility and strength. A licensed chiropractor does spine adjustment, spinal decompression, health assessment for pain management and back bone alignment procedures. A number of times, people suffering from intense back or joint pain complain about nerve pain too. That s because the nerve existing in that joint doesn t get a free space due to misalignment of the spine or joint bones. Because of the misaligned articulation of the joints, existing nerves can be hugely affected. This is when a chiropractor makes some adjustment to align the joint bones or spinal bones. In short, the chiropractor manually repositions these joints. This will reduce the pain associated with the joints and improve your strength and flexibility. Public health and ambulance services are of great importance when it comes to preventing injuries and damages. In the UK, before the 2000s, ambulances were not obliged (by common law) to provide emergency service, but were rather considered an ordinary health care provider. Therefore, in a lot of cases it would be difficult to put the liability on the defendant, which automatically leads to a higher number of injuries and damages. In the case Kent v Griffith an important outcome and rule is created, which creates the hope of decreasing damages significantly in the future. I will argue that the duty of care in the health care system (especially ambulances) should be treated with greater attention, as it can lessen enormous damages caused by delayed service and unreasoned explanations. Furthermore, I will try and prove that, due to negligence, the damages created by delayed services, thus lack of duty of care in the public sector, are far exceeding precaution costs; Moreover, they harm the economy and social well being as well. Duty of care can be viewed as a control device used for determining when the defendant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Go Ask Alice Is Written By An Anonymous Author Essay The novel Go ask Alice is written by an anonymous author and is based on a diary kept by a conventional teenager who then turns into a suicidal drug addict. What happens to Alice at one unsavoury party changed her life forever. She is invited to Jill s party, someone she doesn t know well, where her drink is unknowingly spiked with LSD. Not long after that Alice amassed a dependence on drugs, for example she was unable to last even a few days sober. The author of the diary, Alice, has a raw style and format of writing that fascinated me. The writing style exposed real emotions, and did not hold back. It was as if Alice was talking to her best friend and thought that no one would see her diary. I also think that because I am a teenager and so is Alice I was able to relate to the life she had and the pressures she feels. Alice taught me that even saying yes once to drugs, could lead to life threatening consequences. The themes I noticed were, the influence of the media, the highs and lows of teenage life and the dangers of drug use. Something I found unique about the book was the style and format. Go ask Alice is one of the few books I have read that was written in diary form, I liked the way that it skipped from one day to the next yet still kept making sense. I also enjoyed the way the writer described the highs on drugs, as not many other books with powerful moral messages surrounding the dangers of drugs actually expose what it is like to be on drugs. The book s honesty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bridging Trial Case Study The BRIDGE trial, conducted by Douketis and associates,1 was a randomized, multicenter, double blind, placebo controlled trial that questioned the need for anticoagulation bridging in patients with atrial fibrillation, who are undergoing an invasive procedure that requires interruption of warfarin therapy. The primary efficacy outcome was arterial thromboembolism, which includes stroke, transient ischemic attack, and systemic embolism, whereas the secondary efficacy outcomes were acute myocardial infarction, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and death. The primary and secondary safety outcomes were major and minor bleeding, respectively. Patients eligible for this trial must have been 18 years or older, had chronic atrial fibrillation or flutter, been on warfarin therapy for at least 3 months, had an international normalized ratio (INR) of 2.0 to 3.0, were undergoing an elective invasive procedure that required discontinuation of warfarin therapy, and had at least one CHAD2 stroke risk ... However, the bridging group had a significantly higher risk of major (p=0.005) and minor ( 0.001) bleeding than the placebo group. Overall, the authors concluded that, in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing invasive procedures, forgoing bridging was noninferior to bridging with a low molecular weight heparin for atrial thromboembolism prophylaxis and that there was a clinical benefit in forgoing bridging due to the lower risk of major and minor ... The Flood of the Bible and the Flood of Gilgamesh The story of Noah s Ark, as told in the old testament, tells how God punished the world because it had become corrupt. God accomplished this by flooding the world, and annihilating all the creatures upon it, except for Noah and his family and a pair of each type of creature on the earth. Each decade, more insight is gained into the origin of the flood story. Based on the information available at the present time, one could argue that the story of Noah s Ark was based on the Epic of Gilgamesh. The dimensions of the ship underwent some drastic changes however, quite possibly because the dimensions of Gilgamesh s boat were rather unreasonable: Equal shall be her width and her length... . Both Gilgamesh and Noah received 7 days notice, and after the flood ceased, both employed doves and ravens as scouts to determine if the land was dry yet (Gilgamesh also employed a swallow, but the results of its trip did not greatly differ from the first trip of the dove in Noah s tale ). After the flood waters recessed, and the ships were able to empty their contents, both Noah and Gilgamesh also offered sacrifices to their respective gods, Noah with burnt offerings and Gilgamesh with a libation he poured on the mountainside where his ship came to rest. The other really large change was that God showed some signs of remorse and sorrow in Noah s tale, opposed to Gilgamesh s tale, where God showed little involvement beyond the initial instructions and the flood itself. It was Gilgamesh alone who displayed sorrow for the loss of his people. The shift of sympathy from Gilgamesh to God, however, does good to accommodate the Christian and Jewish perspective of a loving and forgiving God, who would only sweep the world of his own creations at a deep sentimental price. This idea is further confirmed by his promise never to commit such an act again after the flood ceases: Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every ... A crew of over 100 of the Earth s best scientists travel to a new world to explore and start a colony. This paper will follow closely with Elon Musk s current plan to put humans on Mars in the not so distant future, and will look into the advanced technologies developed for this purpose. A New World (Intro) There are many questions that need to be answered about how to successfully put humans on Mars and eventually colonize this new world. Yet there are also several new technological advances that have been made or are planned for the near future that will make this groundbreaking mission possible. Some of these critical questions that need to be answered include the following: How will humans have access to drinkable water on Mars? How will humans handle and adapt to a lower gravity environment? What kind of rocket will be used to send humans to Mars? When can we expect that technology to be ready? How is all of this technology supposed to work to put humans on Mars? By answering these questions, we will create a picture of what it will look like when humans finally make it to Mars and start to colonize that new world. Before we dig into the details of the technology, it is important to first ask, why should humans go to Mars? What do we gain from going to Mars? Many scientists have a ... It can cause them to be more social, have disorders, and even be the cause of social factors. On the other hand, nurture also has an effect on the behaviors of individuals. Both of them are scientifically proven to have an effect on an individual s personality and behaviors. There is evidence that suggest that neither one of them is completely responsible for behaviors, they both play major roles. From the perspective of a scientist, they may see biological factors to have a stronger influence, but from a sociologist perspective they may see social and environmental factors as being more influential. After extensive research, I believe environmental factors have a greater influence on the behaviors and personalities of individuals. The debate of whether nature or nurture are the main causes of behavior have been around for years. In my opinion, environmental factors have a larger influence on an individual s behavior, rather than genetic factors. The environment that a child is raised in is a key factor in how they are going to behave as they grow up. A household filled with rude and ignorant members is more likely to produce a child with the same qualities, than a household of welcoming and respectful people. Forbidden love is considered the most influential type of love in the play. In fact, it is parental love which is extremely prominent and the most significant type of love in the play Romeo and Juliet. This type of love can be between a parent and child or a guardian and child. The parent is meant to lead, guide, and protect and not all of the guardian figures in the play do that. The idea of the value chain has been proposed by Michael Porter in his book Competitive Advantage to identify the sources of competitive advantage through analysis of certain types of activity of the company. As the story begins, the narrator gives the impression that he feels he and the others boys should have taken notice of some obvious clues about themselves. These clues would have led them to the conclusion that they were far from the bad guys they wished to be. Early in the story, he viewed nature as sex, drugs and rock and roll (Boyle 112 113). • 33. Why Home Schooling Should Be Encouraged Home Schooling Should Be Encouraged Home schooling is becoming an increasingly popular choice of education for parents in the United States of America. Homeschooling refers to the practice of parents educating a child at home, rather than in a conventional public or private school setting (Hess and Okun). This can take the form of individual instruction by a single teacher at home or in a small group setting with combined resources of teachers and materials. It was estimated in a 1999 report by the U.S. Department of Education that more than 850,000 students were being educated at home. This number was increasing at rate of 7 to 15 percent annually (Hess and Okun). The numbers are increasing because of the advantages for home school students. In order to promote individualized learning, creativity, and self confidence, home schooling should be considered for more students. Home schooling promotes individualized learning. Individualized learning is a learning environment where a student and a teacher have one on one teaching situation. The teacher is able to focus on the individual student. This method is beneficial because the instructor is able to focus and identify the student s strengths, weaknesses, and needs immediately. This enables the student to know if he or she is on the right track in the learning process. The student is better able to learn faster and cover more material. Another reason individualized learning should be promoted is the student is able to have a more in depth understanding of the content because it is tailored to the individual s learning styles. These learners benefit because they are also able to get feedback as soon as the instructor examines the work. This prevents the student from learning the subject incorrectly. Individualized learning is obviously an advantage for home schooling students. The success of individualized learning is shown in that some preliminary researcher suggests that children who are home schooled may outperform their counterparts in public or private schools (Hess and Okun). When children are not in a classroom full of other students, their creativity can flourish. Gillian Bowditch states that Home educated children are invariably described as ... After the storm ended, the residents of the town banded together to rebuild their town. Over the next two years, the residents of Pilger worked together to rebuild their community with the help of many other communities around them. Though their town had been destroyed, the community united in the midst of it all to rebuild their homes (Driscoll). In John Steinbeck s The Grapes of Wrath, the migrant workers faced opposition from Californian residents. Like the people in Pilger, Nebraska, the migrant workers worked together to help one another out. In The Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck focuses on the central idea that when society is against a group of people, the people band together to help one another out. One issue of major of concern is that of fast lanes and the establishment of net neutrality would prevent ISPs from forming these types of connections. Simplified, a fast lane is line of service that provides faster upload and download speeds. A fast lane would allow ISPs to charge companies such as Netflix, Skype, PlayStation Plus, and other streaming services for faster connections that would allow consumers to access the services easier and faster. Proponents of net neutrality worry that the extra expenses for fast lanes could become a formidable challenge for startups and small business owners. Large corporations typically ... Currently, there is a freedom of choice in that ISPs are unable to obstruct certain sites or contents over others but that hasn t always been the case. There have been several cases over the last few years where ISPs have moved to block internet content. Comcast is probably the best known culprit. In the early to mid 2000 s, Comcast monitored network traffic patterns and began blocking certain websites (Ammori, 2014). The sites that were targeted were those that are known as peer to peer. Peer to peer (P2P) sites utilize technology that allow users to share data without having a centralized server. There have been instances where illegal data has been shared but it would be impossible for an ISP to determine that simply from traffic patterns. Peer to peer sites are not the only ones that have been targeted. In 2005, an ISP in North Carolina moved to block traffic that allowed users to access Vonage, an application that allows users to make telephone calls via the internet. AT T had a contract with Apple that asked AT T to block all applications that offered video chat over a cellular network. • 45. Character Analysis Of Hippolytus The play Hippolytus was written by Euripides, the same writer as the play in Medea. In some ways, this is a story of lies and misunderstandings. I don t really have a character that I liked the most, I thought that Hippolytus, Phaedra, and Theseus all have different good and bad, likeable and unlikable traits. At the first part of the play, we are introduced to Aphrodite. She is the goddess of love and something. In her introduction, she also mentioned the part of the problem which cause all the event to start. Aphrodite took notice on one of the mortals who disrespects her greatly Hippolytus, who said that Aphrodite is was the worst of all gods. Hippolytus, who vowed to himself to never marry a woman, worships the virgin goddess Artemis instead. But what fuels Aphrodite s anger is that Hippolytus has no disrespect for the goddess of love. As a god, I think this is a great insult to their power, especially to an Olympian gods and gods whom are loved by many. Because of that, Aphrodite decides to punish Hippolytus and started her plan. Next, enter Hippolytus, the child of Theseus and the Amazonian, Hippolyta. In the beginning, Hippolytus doesn t seem to be an arrogant man, he seemed to be an honorable and honored the gods properly, mainly Artemis. But, when the goddess Aphrodite was mentioned, his distaste of women started to peak out of the cover. But I think his point of view comes from spotlighting the negative things of women. When the Nurse went against the Queen s wishes, Hippolytus mentioned how stupid women wouldn t be so much trouble while smart women (maybe like Medea) would go behind their husband s back and plot some things while the servant execute the plot. Other characteristics of Hippolytus that made him such a likeable character in the play was that he is an honorable man. After the horrifying fact given by the Nurse, and the accusation from his father of defiling Theseus marriage bed, Hippolytus still kept his oath to stay quiet. Even when he was exiled and his reasoning were all rejected Hippolytus goes willingly. Phaedra is somewhat the main victim of the play, even though it can easily be argued that Hippolytus is the main victim. From the reading, I think Phaedra s main fault was to ...
