Denison Street Methadone Clinic Meeting
I have not personally attended in a workplace meeting as I am only a casual worker. However, I
have witnessed some meetings at Portobello PR as well as witnessing one at Denison street
methadone clinic. As I have seen and learnt I do understand the structure and requirements of
having a meeting and the different types of meetings. Most meetings require a few preparation steps
before the meetingwill happened this is usually organized by the manager or the owner. Tasks you
need to do first is letting the meeting attendees know the Time, Location, attendees Requirements
eg a data sheet. And, you will need to let them know what their roles are and responsibilities are.

If meetings do not happen then issues come up and they are not resolved this may cause friction
between staff and may cause the business to lose money and customers. It also makes the
business much more organized and keeps the business innovative and relevant. This means these

not just file pages of information. It is best to have staff meeting once a month or when required
or when something happens and you need an answer urgently using a phone or video conference

meetings need to happen and all staff need to attend and take them seriously. And there needs to be

Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery
Rule induction is one of the major forms of data mining and is perhaps the most common form
of knowledge discovery in unsupervised learning systems. It is also perhaps the form of data
mining that most closely resembles the process that most people think about when they think
about data mining, namely mining for gold through a vast database. The gold in this case would
be a rule that is interesting that tells you something about your database that you didn t already
know and probably weren t able to explicitly articulate (aside from saying show me things that are
interesting ). The bane of rule induction systems is also its strength that it retrieves all possible
interesting patterns in the database. This is strength in the sense that it leaves no stone unturned
but it can also be viewed as a weakness because the user can easily become overwhelmed with
such a large number of rules that it is difficult to look through all of them. You almost need a
second pass of data miningto go through the list of interesting rules that have been generated by the
rule induction system in the first place in order to find the most valuable gold nugget amongst them
all. This overabundance of patterns can also be problematic for the simple task of prediction
because all possible patterns are culled from the database there may be conflicting predictions made
by equally interesting rules. Automating the process of culling the most interesting rules and of
combing the recommendations

Physical Examination And Laboratory Testing
Introduction to case study
Genitourinary problem in female have a number of symptoms and these symptoms requires
clinical skills to focus on problem history and examination. The context of assessing genitourinary
problem is based on a number issues such as gynaecological background, family history, obstetric
history and sexual history. Having lower pain being experienced in upper urinary track and iliac
fossa pain experienced in ectopic pregnancies are some of the symptoms produced by
genitourinary pathology(Detollenaere, et al., 2015). According to description of 51 years old
female, having lower abdominal pain and 100 degrees temperature and the problem persisting for a
while should undertake genitourinary examination as well as laboratory tests. Therefore, the study
reveals genitourinary problem from examination, findings and treatment framework.
Physical examination and laboratory testing
Physical examination involves assessment of vital signs, temperature, respiratory and pulse rate
and Blood pressure. Generally, physician should observe general appearance of comfort or distress
of patient, apparent state of health, state of hydration, color and nutrition status. Furthermore, it is
important to match the patient s physical appearance with the stated age. Getting to abdominal
inspection and examination, physician should assess abdominal contour, scars, symmetry and
dilatation of the veins. The movement of the abdominal walls in relation to respiration are also

How Does Priestley Create Tension In An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls is a play written by J.B. Priestly in 1945. The play, which is set in 1912,
illustrates the vast status difference in society at the time. Priestly wanted to show to the
audience a more dramatic look at the relationship between the wealthy and the poor. Priestley, a
socialist, believed that we are all part of a community and have responsibilities to look after one
another. Using the inspector as a mouthpiece, Priestley was able to cleverly convey his ideas of
socialism and community under the idea of a murder mystery. From the very beginning of Act
One, Priestly emphasizes the birling families, spoilt and rich nature, fairly large suburban house .
The adjective fairly large , tells the reader the family has a lot... Show more content on

She is a character that evolves as the play goes on, understanding her role in society and how she
must look after each other. She is immediately upset at the death of Eva Smith; even with
knowing which class she belonged to, Oh how horrible! . The use of punctuation for effect, ! ,
shows how Sheila is the second person (the first being Eric) so far to react so openly at the death
of this young woman. Priestley uses this to emphasize the cold nature of the upper class, and
how Mr. Birling seemed almost irritated at the fact that his night was being disturbed by such an
insignificant reason, rather impatiently . The adverb impatiently portrays Mr. Birling s cold
and hard nature. This shows how living in the upper class has made him indifferent to death and
so has little emotion things like that. Sheila understands that everybody is human, therefore
everybody is equal, these girls aren t cheap labor they re people . The noun people , is shown in
italics, showing that it has been stressed. The emphasis on people , is used as a way to juxtapose
Mr. Birling s views of the lower class, as animals and so cheap labor against Priestley s views; that
we are all equal. However, in Miliwards where she got Eva fired from, shows how powerful your
influence can be depending on your class. Just because Sheila was a woman in the upper class, a

Informative Essay On Fake News
Bogus News
Everyone is tuned into the news because sometimes it has information the society needs to
know. The reason I say sometimes must do with the fact that not all news is trustworthy. Fake
news is seen very often and can be misinterpreted by many people. Well, what is fake news? I
believe fake news is information that is false and just out there to get attention to it. Behind fake
news comes fake ideas, most people s opinions on social media, and false predictions or sayings.
Nowadays, anything could be considered as news but I think it s important to identify the real
news from the fake ones. That way whatever anyone hears or sees will be reliable.
According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Tan says, Fake ideas are more subtly dangerous than
fake facts. I agree with this statement because facts are facts and ideas can be changed several
times. When it comes to ideas, good or bad, some go beyond our expectations that we question
ourselves, Will it happen? or Will it work? . Anyone can come up with an idea and expose what
they created to the whole world. The Philippine Daily Inquirer states, ... they exaggerate an idea
and twist its logic beyond recognition. In fake news any nonsense is shown and said but, the
public can t distinguish was it true and what is false. If the news is about political issues or relates
to something about the government, it should be accurate. The article Real Confusion about Fake

Informed Decision-Making Process Analysis
Informed decision making is an important aspect for working in the government. According to
Milakovich and Gordon, provide some examples of how information technology can be used to
assist bureaucrats in decision making? In this society today technology plays an important role
because it s a communication channel. Many of people across this world use technology as a form
of communication. Technology is the easiest way to converse with someone through different
websites and smartphones. Technology is one of the most popular things that man created.
Information technology can be helpful in many of ways to bureaucrats in making decisions. It can
assist the bureaucrats by viewing the last year budget such as comparing and contrasting.
Bureaucrats can conduct different task by keeping an account of the budget, distribute resource,
and analyze the budget results. . (Milakovich Gordon, 2014). Even create reports, spreadsheets in

Lup Fiasco Uses The Word Bitch
The term bitch was first used to describe women in the fourteenth century, but before that it was
used to describe a female dog (Bayley, P2). The slang word for bitch is a term for an undesirable
woman with a high sex drive. Society back then (and now) is afraid of female sexuality. Calling a
woman a bitch suggests that she is the same as a dogin heat. Right from the start, the word was
used to dehumanize women and to shame us for being sexual beings. A bitch is subjugated, on the
bottom. Being called a dog is not a compliment, but being a bitch is worse. Dismissing a womanfor
being called a bitch makes it known to everyone that her voice doesn t need to be taken seriously.

Ever since the 2014 FIFA World Cup, there s been uproar over El Tri s fans use of the slang word

the term was only being used as a phrase used by the Mexican culture. Article 3 of the FIFA

homophobia. Holly R. Cashman said it best in her article, Why Puto Must Go in saying that, We
know that homophobic slurs are not just words; we know that they reinforce a reality in which
LGBTQ people are vulnerable to attack and abuse, not on a football field, but in the streets, at work
and at home. Slurs translate into real physical violence because they

Should Ionizing Radiation Be Used In Medical Diagnosis
INTRODUCTION
Radiation procedures used to diagnose medical conditions over the past century have grown from a
scientific curiosity to a pervasive, essential part of modern health care. Radiology originated with
ionizing radiation to diagnose human disease, however since discovering the physiological risks
associated with ionizing radiation, such as mutation/cancer, an ongoing controversy arises as to
whether ionizing radiation should be used in medical diagnosis. This investigation will analyze
each end of the argument continuum to determine if ionizing radiation should continue to be used
in medical diagnosis.
BACKGROUND PHYSICS
Ionizing radiation is any type of particle (neutrons, betas or alphas) or electromagnetic wave
(gamma rays, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are different types of ionizing radiation, including gamma rays and x rays, which have been
known to cause cancer. Additionally, because x rays can kill living cells, when improperly used
they can cause severe burns, cancer, leukemia, and cataracts. They can speed aging, reduce
immunity to disease, and bring about disastrous changes in the reproductive cells.
Having few procedures employing ionizing radiation throughout your life may seem harmless, but
as the levels of doses increase, your risk of developing cancer rises at the same rate, according to
the LNT model. Figure 4 below exhibits potential medical consequences of certain periods of
exposure to ionizing radiation:
CONCLUSION
Given the evidence, it can be concluded that while there are risks that arise with ionizing radiation
in medical diagnosis, overall the benefits outweigh the risks, as doctors are able to diagnose various
health concerns that would go undetected otherwise. That being said, ionizing radiation should
continue to be used in medical diagnosis as they provide valuable medical procedures that can
ultimately save

Essay On Dog Desensitisation
Fears and phobias are reversed by using operant conditioning techniques such as desensitisation,
combined with positive re assosiation in order to help turn a negative association into a positive
one (positive rewards). Whilst helping a dog overcome a fear of something using desensitisation
or immersion therapy, a dog will always choose avoidance, but if the dog is allowed the option to
choose avoidance, the fearwill never be overcome. So the only way a dog will overcome it s fear of
bicycles would be to face it and work towards a more positive assosiation. Positive rewards are
useful in this instance. A strong smelling food treat would be ideal, so that the dog is more keen
on the reward it receives.

Why is timing important when using treats as part of a behaviour modification program to help
overcome a fear or phobia?
When overcoming a fear or phobia with the use of treats, it is important to get the timing right. For
example, a dog that is rewarded whilst still in a fearful state would make matters worse. A reward
must be used to get the dog s attention and take it s mind off the source of the fear. It is important
that you do not unintentionally reward the wrong behaviour as this can confuse a dog and
encourage unwanted behaviour instead of the behaviour you want, whilst also prolonging the
behaviour modification process.
The key to rewarding behaviour is also reifnorcement, not bribery. Reinforcement is basically a
reward given for a job well done, whilst bribary would be showing a dog a treat before the wanted
behaviour, and only then giving them the reward. Bribery is best to be avoided as if you do not,
you could create a dog that will only follow your commands when bribed with food and this is not
ideal. So only show a dog the reward AFTER they have successfully completed a behavior, and not

Tattoos And Its Effects On Society
In the past to get a tattoo you would have to go to a shady shack in the bad side of town where
you would be greeted by a dark smoky room and a man that looks like he is about to stab you.
After proving your worth by not bursting into tears you would haggle a price you want to pay and
he would begin tattooingyou while smoking a cigarette and ashing all over your open wound. Today
getting a tattoois a much more enjoyable thing to do you go to a clean shop and everything is
sterile. I have been in some tattoo shops that are cleaner than hospitals. Around the same time that
tattoos were very dangerous you could have as many as you wanted and join the military. There is a
long history of tattoos in the military, Sailors would get certain tattoos that signified where they
were stationed. Soldiers in the army would get tattoos representing their units, and the most
sacred of all military tattoos when they have lost a brother in combat. I believe that the
government should let soldiers have tattoos below their elbows and below their knees because,
tattoos are very mainstream, they are trained killers, most of the military has tattoos that would
make them ineligible for reenlistment, it is one of the last ways soldiers can show self expression
in the military, and tattoos have such a rich history in the military. I don t see why soldiers having
tattoos above the wrist and below the neck would be off limits. Every day men and women cycle

Niccolo Paganini is considered to be the father of virtuoso in the 19th century (Shipps, 38). He
was one of the greatest violinist of history and went on far reaching concert tours for many years
(Shipps, 38). Paganini was also was the composer of 24 Caprices (Shipps, 38). The more
adventurous style of his works were not as conservative as some other composers may have liked,
but were popular with the public (Shipps, 38).
This new modern style of violin music was carried on by Giovanni Battista Viotti (Shipps, 38).
He is considered the father of modern violin playing (Shipps, 38). Viotti founded the French
school of violin where he along with Tourte, invented the modern bow (Shipps, 40). His own

The Boston Tea Party Was A Fair Protest By The Colonists
Thesis:
I believe that the Boston Tea Party was a fair protest by the colonists because the King of England
was using the colonists for profit, and not treating them like real people by not listening to their
outcries for help. Thus, the Boston Tea Party was the only way to get the King s attention and bring
attention to how unfair the acts were to other colonists.
What did the Tea Actsay? (1) The Tea Act said two things. First, it stated that the amount of
actions needed to go through customs would be reduced for anyone exporting tea to the British
colonies as said in the fifth paragraph of the act, ...and to export such tea to any of the British
colonies or plantations in America, or to foreign parts, discharged from the payment of any
customs or duties whatsoever; any thing in the said recited act, or any other act to the contrary
notwithstanding. (SFI 1, americanhistory.abc clio.com). This part of the act was an attempt to save
the nearly bankrupt East India Company, which had played a big role in the British victory over
France in the Seven Year War by taking over multiple French settlements. The second thing the act
stated was that there would be a new tax on the tea for the American colonists. The British thought
that because the act would actually reduce the price of tea, even with the tax, the American
colonists would accept this new act. The act backfired and actually just fueled the colonist s anger
toward the British Crown as they were being taxed without

Lady With Lapdog By Anton Chekhov
Bad Romance
As Haddaway once said, what is love? Baby, don t hurt me, don t hurt me no more. Everyone has
a different perspective of what love really is. People can fall in love or believe they are in love
because of physical attraction. Some may believe that lust can become into something more. In the
short story, Lady with Lapdog by Anton Chekhov translated by David Magarshack, the main
protagonist Gurov is married with a twelve year old daughter and two sons. He is not extremely
happy with his family life so he likes to have small affairs to get away from it. As the plot develops
he meets a girl named Anna, who he falls head over heels for, making the womanizer, fall in love.
Even though what the did is immoral, it can be a good thing for the pair. They may have gotten
out a situation that was not making them happy. Love can control the way people dictate their
lives. Is it for the good of the people? Is it just some emotion that causes mischief? As seen in
Lady with Lapdog, love is a powerful emotion that can alter people s motives as well as can
change other s lives in an instant. Although love is about sacrifice for the significant other, it can
also a very selfish emotion. During the story the when Gurov and Anna are in their affair she starts
to complain and he, could not help feeling bored as he listened to her...she buried her face on his
chest and clung close to him, (Chekhov 269), showing that he is not willing to listen to her when

PUBLIC PROCUREMENT OVERVIEW Public procurement systems across the European Union
(EU) need to be robust, transparent and open to public monitoring. Only then can governments,

Problems appear to be most acute in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Romania and Slovakia.
8 The current revision of the EU legislation on public procurement 9 presents an opportunity for
European leaders to address these breakdowns and close the following integrity gaps. WEAK
LEGISLATIVE FRAMEWORKS Legislative loopholes as in the case of Romania allow for the
bypassing of procurement rules and raise the risk of corruption. For example, the Romanian
government has the right to invoke a state of emergency, which allows it to negotiate contracts
with only one single company. Allegations in other countries have also been raised about
preference being given to a single vendor by micro tailoring the tender criteria to match only that
company s profile. 10 Similar problems of legal gaps exist in the Czech Republic that has
permitted corruption to arise in public procurement. According to a survey of small and medium
sized Czech companies, three out of five managers believe that it is impossible to win public
contracts without resorting to bribery, a kickback or some other incentive . 11 The procurement
loopholes that exist in Europe vary and lead to low levels of transparency and accountability,
including limited access to information and public participation in the processes. Final public

Michael Newdow s Pledge Of Allegiance
I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it
stands, one nation, under Congress, the Supreme Court, the Declaration of Independence, our
founding fathers, and the President, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Francis Bellamy wrote the Pledge of Allegiance in 1892 (Baer). He did this in the memory of the
400th anniversary of Columbus discovering America ( The Pledge ). In 1954, Congress added the
words, under God to the pledge; this was done for the differentiation of the United States from the
Soviet Union during the Cold War.

Placing God in the pledge was thought of as a term that could be applied to all religions and creeds;
thus, the word God would be describing something more than just material existence.
Building the basis of the United States was the founding fathers of the nation. They were not all
necessarily under a Christian belief; nonetheless, they did wish for the people of the United States
to have morals and values (Williams).
On the contrary, some people do not feel that the nation should follow what the founding fathers
thought and did. Gewertz states, We decide to keep these sayings or traditions in play just because
they were the values of our founding fathers. I have to say that not all the values of our founding
fathers are values I want to embody.
Despite the fact that the founding fathers assumed the existence of an almighty power, they also
protected the right of the people to believe or not. Gewertz does not agree with all ideas of the
founding fathers, but he also says, the phrase under God is in keeping with the intentions of the
Founding Fathers. They anchored their thinking in the idea of a higher law in order to ensure that
all power does not reside in the state. Agreeing with Gewertz, Cameron thinks that the founding
fathers would not be too happy with the way things are going now.
Furthermore, in recognition of the words under God being added to the Pledge of Allegiance,
President Eisenhower told of how thankful he was

The 1996 Baz Lurhman Interpretation of Rome and Juliet
I will be doing my micro analysis on the 1996 Baz Lurhman interpretation of Romeo + Juliet, the
scene I have chosen to analyse takes place after the news report monologue in which after the
two families are introduced. The Capulets and the Montagues engage in an altercation at the
petrol station and I will discuss how mise en scene and cinematography are used in this sequence
to construct meaning. Initially a fast paced high angled tracking shot of the streets, houses and
buildings are used which displays the setting; this fast tracking shot is used along with intense
non diegetic music which connotes a frantic and chaotic feeling for the spectator or could be
used to reflect the tone of the movie. Text then appears on the screen reading In fair Verona the

Dual Task Study
Driving while focused on other tasks may cause increased traffic mishaps and accidents.
Information processing of parallel processing systems suffers from bottlenecks, and may have
implications in information processing which may be the case with the use of cell phones causing
distractions while people are driving(Anderson, 2015). A bottleneck within central cognition stream
is a central bottleneck and may cause significant effects while trying to think about two things at
the same time (Anderson, 2015). As tasks are practiced they become more automatic, there seems
to need less processing in central cognition. According to a Strayer and Johnston s published study

Class and Race in Faulkner s The Mansion Essay
Class and Race in Faulkner s The Mansion
In The Mansion, the last of William Faulker s Snopes Trilogy, Flem Snopes is killed by his
daughter Linda and his cousin Mink because he betrayed family and clan ties. Flem used his
wife Eula for his success and finally drove her to suicide. He also took advantage of his daughter s
love for him and tried to deprive her of her property. When Mink, detained on a charge of killing
Jack Houston, desperately needed Flem s help, the cousin didn t even appear. They took revenge
on him for his betrayal. The story, though, as Cleanth Brooks pointed out (Brooks 227 28), can also

What was the motive, then, of the Houston killing, which we seem to be strongly asked to refer
to when we examine the Flem case? The direct cause was trouble over Mink s cow, but behind it
there was a wide gulf between the rich and the poor, a class difference between the landed class
and poor whites, which may have made Mink angry enough to kill Houston. He saw Houston as
a durn surly sullen son of a bitch that didn t even know he was lucky: rich, not only rich enough
to afford a wife to whine and nag and steal his pockets ragged of every dollar he made, but rich

Women s Role In Ancient Rome
Role of Women in Ancient Rome Women in ancient Rome played a vital role in the transition of
political power in the roman government. Although the Roman women were not allowed to

These women were typically working in the background and although they may not get the explicit
mention they deserve in historical texts, without their actions Rome may have had a very different
outcome. In Livy s The History of Rome, three instances involving women had a significant impact
on the development of the Roman government. In Livy s first book of The History of Rome, he

The Impact Of The Great Pyramids Of Egypt And The Pyramids
What makes up a pyramid? 12 lines, 5 faces, 4 triangles, 1 base, and 5 vertexes and in the case of
the Great Pyramids of Giza about 2.3 million stone blocks that weigh an average of 2.5 to 15
tons. That according to the time it took to build them they would have had to place and set a
stone every 2 to 2 and a half minutes. To put that in perspective some weigh as much or more
than an armed military cargo truck. So, imagine dragging a cargo truck with nothing but some
strong rope and some other people. Now if you re like most people you can lift maybe 100 pounds.
However, the average powerlifter can lift 350 to 400 pounds and that s just lift not pack around or
drag across acres of land. Now how did the Egyptians build the Great Pyramid of Gizawith blocks
that weigh up to 15 tons with the technology they had then? It s clearly very obtuse to think the
pyramids were built by the Egyptians and the Egyptians alone. The question is, who helped them?
I ll tell you who helped them. It was the beings that have been erased from human history, the ones
hiding amongst the stars at all this time watching us. The ones that stop by to build their
structures, while casually using our resources. The ones that built Stonehenge, the Pyramids, the
face on Mars, Easter island, and the ones that make the crop circles, the Aliens. The aliens have
been there all along ever so subtly leaving us messages too advanced for us to understand helping
the hard workers build their so called sacred structures . Were the aliens just being neighborly
trying to help or did they have more incentive? The aliens had more than enough incentive to help
build these structures, especially the pyramids. They took advantage of the Egyptians need for a
sacred place to bury their kings and the obtuse triangleformed by Orion s Belt. They lined up the
structures with the stars of Orion s Belt to create the energy column. Then, they created a complex
tunnel system, so no one could ever find their transporter and then they left through the triangular
column that forms between the pyramids and Orion. Only to be able to return or communicate at
night when the column reforms. Who do they communicate with, you may ask? The governments,

German Expressionism and Dadaism
German Expressionism and Dadaism Introduction Revolutionary forms of art have dominated much
of Germany, apparently as a reaction to the First World War. The era in which the First World War
took place throughout the 1910s, featured artists coming together against what they think the
pointless aggression said major conflict brought. German artists, in particular, protested against the
social structures prevalent during the 1910s, within which the social structures of the Second Reich
were prevalent. German society initially saw film, in particular, as quite an inelegant alternative to
the bourgeoisie associated theater. Such is due to the inability of the domestic film industry in
Germany to develop films due to two reasons the mass... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wiene, Janowitz and Mayer portrayed through The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari their notion that the

propaganda promotion agenda of Germany during the 1910s, which stood as the reason for

groundbreaking example of Expressionism that time a complete opposite of German government

perhaps due to the ascendancy of the fear and anxiety factor imbued within The Cabinet of Doctor
Caligari, which is supposed to provoke the emotions of audiences. After all, it is the main point of
expressionist art to subject audiences to emotionally provoking scenes, which in turn reflect the
subjective views of artists. Therefore, one could note that the narrative frame in The Cabinet of

Antigone: Barbaric King, Hopeful Princess and Moral Dilemma
Antigone is a play that mainly deals with differences among characters that cause life long
drawbacks and threatening resolutions. The drama is portrayed through Antigone and Creon s
characters who undoubtedly resemble each other. Although they try to be masters of their own fate
and eventually succumb to grieving outcomes, they both seem to have the values of a tragic hero.
Although, they have their differences, their battle with one another illustrates them both as moral

This illusion of himself allows the people to believe Creon is a heartfelt king with fair bonds.
Along with Antigone, Creon also displays himself as a stubborn character. This side of him
along with his love for power takes over his conscience and his true feelings towards all. When
Creon realizes it was Antigone who had gone against his will, he becomes very inflexible towards
her. Although, Antigone is blood related he did not go back on his word and change the rules for
her. This decision not only has an impact on Antigone, but also Haimon, Creon s son. Haimon
implies his own suicide by stating the following: Then she must die But her death will cause
another (Sophocles, III 119). This open threat still has no effect on Creon s decision towards
Antigone s punishment. Though he recalls his promise to the people, it seems as if he is
completely blinded by his love for power. Creon absolutely isolates himself from the rest of the
world and believes himself as being right all the time despite the circumstances. He strongly
believes in a powerful kingdom and feels that everyone should dwell by his rules as a king. This
reveals him to be a self centered noble who thinks quite highly of himself. Creon later regrets what
he has done to his innocent niece. However, this sudden change of heart came about when Teiresias

The Importance Of Positive Relationships With Students
In alliance with Maslow s hierarchy of needs, students need positive relationships to be successful
in the classroom. It is important for students to feel important and needed in the classroom.
Students need to be able to identify and see their purpose needed in the classroom, as well as their
purpose as a student. As students identify their purpose in the classroom, they are able to feel
supportive in the classroom. This allows for positive bonds to form and for students to become fully
engaged in the classroom experience. Teachers have the opportunity to provide students with an
inclusive, positive, and enjoyable experience, and failure to do this will cause negative effects on
the students socially and academically. In a study conducted by Marzano, Marzano, and Pickering,
positive teacher student relationships build the foundation for classroom management (Jones Jones,
2016, p.52). It is almost impossible for a teacher to manage a class without a positive relationship
with the students. Students who do not have a positive relationship with a teacher will not follow
rules or obey the teacher. Ways to establish positive relationships with students include, providing
them with a safe space, respect, showing care, and being culturally competent. Being culturally
competent is an essential to build a positive relationship with students. Gallagher cites Students in

Ancient Greeks And The Ancient Romans
The Romans had one of the most innovative and influential ancient civilizations. Although
arguments can be made for the Ancient Greeks and the Ancient Egyptians, it can be seen that the
modern world had adopted many of the values and ideas of the Ancient Romans. The achievements,
ideas, and values of the Ancient Romans have had a lasting impact on the modern world. The
majority of people don t know that many of the things they take for granted came from Ancient
Rome.
Architecture
One of the things the Romans had multiple achievements in that have left a lasting impact on the
world is there innovation of architecture. A major, lasting example of Roman architecture is the
Roman Colosseum. The Colosseum was used for all kinds of things in ancient Rome including
battle re enactments, dramas, executions, and most famous of all, it is the place where the
gladiators fought. The unique design of the Colosseum was not like other structures built at this
time. A major difference it had from any theater or other event for public viewing was the audience
was seated all around the event. The idea of seating the audience all around the event with the event
at the bottom in the center became the basis for the modern sports stadium. All stadiums of the
modern era are based on the same concept of the Colosseum; so the Colosseum was essentially the
first stadium. Another architectural achievement that left a lasting impact on the world today is the
Roman Arch. The arch is seen in many

Machiavellian Prince Analysis
Socrates was a man who sought goodness and wisdom above all else, and would find
Machiavelli s concept of a prince to be a leader void of these qualities. Socrates would be critical
of a Machiavellian prince s character and actions for failing to meet his morally absolute standard
of goodness, and of the Machiavellian prince s notion of wisdom for conflicting with his own.
Socrates would not be supportive of the political system formed under a Machiavellian prince, the
perpetuation of which inherently clashes with his stringent moral absolutism and ideals of devotion

In a similar situation, while under credible threat of backlash from the people, a prince
following Machiavelli s advice would learn not to be good and take the unjust action to pacify
the threat to his power, whether it be the agitated masses or angry nobles (Prince 56 XV). A
Machiavellian prince considers taking evil action as a viable step if a situation is dire enough in
order to secure himself and his grip on power (Prince 34 VIII). Socrates would denounce this
mindset in a prince, asserting that individuals must do no wrong (Crito 88, 49b). In stark
contrast to a Machiavellian prince s willingness to forego goodness and commit injustice for the
preservation and furtherance of his own power, Socrates pleads with all men to strive for
goodness without exception in any case, including matters of the state (Apology 65, 36c). A
Machiavellian prince s willingness to waver on goodness would warrant strong criticism from
Socrates. In addition to condemning the unjust action of the prince, Socrates would challenge
Machiavelli s assertion that benevolent virtues can lead to a prince s destruction (Prince 57 XV).

The Central Problems Of International Politics
ne of the central problems of international politics is that of cooperation or lack of cooperation.
Though, cooperation is not always possible or a welcome idea when it comes to states making
decisions. Creating and claiming value are two of the most fundamental aspects of negotiation
strategy that exist, but there is tension with one another. In any negotiation, the delegates need to
decide which course of action to take whether that be competitive, cooperative, or some of both.
David Lax and James Sebenius call this the negotiator s dilemma. It is similar to the prisoners
dilemma in game theory, because this is a way of using rational choice and strategic thinking to
describe situations. In a book written by D. Lax and J. Sebenius The Manager as Negotiator: The
Negotiator s Dilemma: Creating and Claiming Value, the authors argue that negotiation includes
both cooperative and competitive elements, and that these elements exist in tension. The dilemma
in this situation is in deciding whether to pursue a cooperative or a competitive strategy. The
authors suggest several strategies to resolve this dilemma, and how to encourage cooperative
approaches to creating mutually beneficial outcomes. Conflict analysts tend to view negotiations
either as a matter of cooperating to create value, or as a matter of competing to claim values. In the
value creating view, negotiators work primarily to increase the available resources, to find joint
gains or win win solutions,

Roman authorities of Judea and Galilee. The context of New Testament Gospels is deeply rooted
in the Greco Roman world and as such paints the background of the Jesus actions and messages.
Several scholarly publications that analyze biblical texts from the social science perspective have
established a relationship between the politics and religion of the ancient world.
The aim of this paper is to assess the events of demon possession and exorcism narrated in the Bible
not from a theological perspective but from sociopolitical standpoint. Drawing references from
scholarly publications on Bible, this paper would investigate the symbolic meanings of Jesus
exorcism in socio political sphere of Galilee and Judea at the very beginning of the first century.
This paper heavily relies upon the concepts proposed by Amanda Witmer in her publication Jesus,
the Galilean Exorcist, His Exorcisms in Social and Political Context.
The historically accurate reconstruction of Jesus is extremely improbable. This is largely due to the
limited quantity of resources survived and those that do, New Testament Gospels, are written under
the lens of religious followers. As such, there exists great challenge in

Essay on Reasons for Popularity of Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Reasons for Popularity of Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Vampire stories have been told for hundreds of years, and like all things, they have evolved with
time. As technology has moved forward so did the stories, and vampire films soon became popular.
These stories have recently moved onto the small screen, the most popular of which, a modern
adaptation of the tradition vampire myth called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This popular programme
has a massive following here in the UK and also overseas and is now in its 7th series of
programmes and has been seen on TV screens around the world for over four years.

The woman turns into a green hideous monster and kills that boy. This is very rare for a vampire
tale as traditionally vampires did not look like monsters and also they only attacked defenseless
females.
The episode starts properly when Buffy Summers, a 16 year old girl moves to Sunnydale, from LA
with her mother. This is not the setting that we would expect for a vampire story as the word
Sunnydale hardly paints a picture of a dark, scary place full of vampires. Therefore, this name
subverts the traditional signifier s. On the first day of school, Cordelia, the popular girl inducts
Buffy into the cool crowd despite this Buffy attempts to be friends with three other students,
Xander, Willow and Jesse. This gesture shows us that Buffy is a good judge of character, strong
minded and that she is a leader not a follower.
Buffy goes to the school library to get some text books. The library, although a more unusual
setting was much more like something from a vampire story, it was dark and empty. To add
tension the producers used scary disjointed music to try and set the scene and the camera moves in
onto a newspaper article, to which you can read the headline which refers to a missing teenage boy.
This article casts a question mark over the normal nice

Everybody Loves Raymond Tv Show Analysis
After watching both TV Sitcoms, Everybody loves Raymond and Modern Family , there is a lot
of differences and similarities to analyze, comparing both on styles and production. First,
Everybody loves Raymond is an American TV series show in the sitcom genre, created by Philip
Rosenthal and aired on CBS since 1996. When I was watching it, I noticed that their settings were
practically similar to ВЁModern FamilyВЁ, showing both sites in a family house. For example,
both TV shows started with an establishing show. It is showing basically an overview of the
location on where the scene will take place. The director used different settings in the house, like
for example, in the bedroom, kitchen, living and dining room. The lighting in ВЁEverybody... Show

Indeed, this is like that because the creators Christopher Lloyd Steven Levitan, made this TV
sitcom particularly in a Mockumentary style or (docu comedy style, in which means that they
present the events in a documentary style just to create comedy. Modern Family have that
particular style of using more camera movements than the show of Everybody loves Raymond ,
that is more static. This dramatically movements of the camera makes the show seems like in a
face pace running all the time. They do faster close ups, zooms in/ out, tilting up/ down, and they
do faster movements of panning left/ right, to follow the conversation of the actors, which is
totally different from the other show. Another differences on both shows is that in ВЁModern
FamilyВЁ they have that particular style when you see the actors talking directly to the camera,
like they are having a conversation to someone, or just maybe pretending they are talking to
themselves. However, we don t see this in ВЁEverybody loves RaymondВЁ but there is because
they are acting to follow the story of the family but in that particular way of the viewer listening to
the live audience laughing after something funny

Essay about The Main Component in the Civil Rights...
You can go through any school in the country and ask if any students know who Rosa Parks is.
The majority of these students will say that she refused to give up her seat up to a non colored
man. These students really don t know how impactful her decision had on the United States of
America. She was really the main component of the civil rights movement and that s why she is
known as the mother of the civil rights movement . She stood up for what she believed in, and in
doing that she sparked and created the stepping stones to the civil rights movement era.

But sadly enough the NAACP wasn t getting the publicity from the court cases they pursued, in the

how it came about to really jumpstart the civil rights movement that greatly affects us today.
During alabama in this time the law for bus riding for african americans was that they had to pay
their fare in the front of the bus then walk out to the rear entrance and sit in the back of the bus,
they were not allowed to sit toward the front, according to Mary Hall an american author who
wrote the biography of Rosa Parks (Hull). Also african americans weren t allowed to sit until all
the white passengers were seated first, and that forces them to seat farther back or just stand until
they arrive to their stop. What also is ridiculous is that is that they are not allowed to sit across
from the whites in the same row (Academy of Achievement). Even throughout all these rules, some
bus drivers would just close their doors and take off before they get on leaving them stranded to
find another bus for transportation.

Comparing Daoism, Confucianism, And Legalism In Classical...
Three of the major religious philosophies in Classical China were Daoism, Confucianism, and
Legalism. Daoism was a religious philosophy that the upper class favored to strengthen their
traditional Chinese beliefs, especially those relating to nature. Daoism told people to have harmony
with nature by living frugally and with humility. On the other hand, Confucianismwas centered
around ethics. Confucianism s main teachings were to treat others based on both of your positions
in society and it did not discuss magic or mysteries, but instead made sure that everyone understood
their place in society. Legalism, another system of political thought, consisted of an authoritarian
state and strict rule. Legalists believed that human nature was bad and needed to be controlled. In a
Legalist state, the army was in control while the people worked. Although these teaching were are
very different, they were all found in Classical China. The Chinese state and its political institutions
developed over time. First of all, even though the Zhou dynasty lacked a strong government, they
discouraged previous religious practices such as human sacrifice, they promoted a standard
language, and took over the Yangtze River valley which provided new territory and food. After the
Zhou dynasty declined, the Qin dynasty rose and split China into... Show more content on

And once they feel confident, they may use these strategies to interact with their peer in a small
group setting and than transit to real situation. Additionally, Barkere s study showed the strong
relationship between language, attention and behavioral problem. It pointed out that, language
plays an important role in regulation of attention, and sustained attention are related to internalizing
and externalizing behavior problems. Thus, to alleviate or prevent the behavior problem in children
with SPHL, SLP should also focus on their sustained attention at the same time to improving their
regulatory skills. Last but not least, it is important to encourage typically developing children the
inclusion of all children in the classroom. SLP may use stories or plays to educate the peers about
hearing loss and how can this impacts one s ability to communicate. Structural program is needed to
help both groups know the difference and eliminate the discrimination and exclusion.
The aspects list above that related to social behavior problems are important. They may improve

Temasek should start to give press interviews. This can be interpreted as part of a targeted public

Essay on Fear in Cellar Stairs
Fear in Cellar Stairs
Poetry is about emotion not only the emotion displayed in the many layers
of a poem s language, but also the emotional layers created in the reader.
Some poetry can be light and happy, other poetry can be ecstatic and ethereal;
and at the opposite extreme, poetry can be dark and downright threatening. Such
a poem is Cellar Stairs by the contemporary poet Thomas Lux.
It s rickety down to the dark, states the first line. The poem starts out with
an image of darkness, compounded by the feeling of instability ( rickety ). The
lack of any physical room or area leaves us feeling disoriented and groundless.

afraid.
Lines five through nine describe the normally harmless objects that reside on the shelf.
This time, though, the objects are dangerous. Everything has an edge the shears, the weed
hacker, the ice pick except the poison, which can kill both kinds of vermin, rats and
bugs (6 7). A triple threat, the shelf: we can be poisoned either of two ways or stabbed.
The landing, normally a safe area on any flight of stairs, is also trapped: the keg of
roofing nails that beckons your face to slam into it (8 9). This describes another level
of emotion, as well. We have progressed from being afraid of the dark to being scared for
our life. The specific threats have been identified and we are under attack.
Lines ten through eighteen become globally symbolic of torture, while maintaining the
chilling level of personal threat. The fuse box goes from a damning symbol of sin (the
slot machine gambling is a sin) (11) to a symbol of death (the switch for the electric
chair that the warden pulls ) (12). The author speaks of the boots, singular, on every
stair, alone (14 16). The dead left them there, short legged on their way down to the
Hell at the bottom of the stairs (16 17).

The Character Analysis Of Ophelia From Shakespeare s Hamlet
This essay will pose as an analysis of Ophelia from Shakespeare s Hamlet. This play is a drama
and it takes place in the 16th century in Denmark. The central characters are Ophelia, Hamlet,
and Ophelia s brother Laertes and father Polonius. In this work, Ophelia is constantly influenced
by the opinions of those that surround her which causes her to become a prisoner to her own
thoughts. This drama was written as a depiction of how women conducted themselves during this
time and conformed to the standards of men. It was common for women to remain silent and
keep their thoughts to themselves, while males voiced their opinions. She was expected to
blindly obey the males in her life which doesn t allow her to learn, grow, and explore. In this essay,
I will provide a character analysis that will discuss Ophelia s rearing, obedience, and naГЇve stature.
Ophelia is a potential wife for Hamlet, but is unsure about herself being equip for marriage. The
author expresses this in the text with the quote, He hath, my lord, of late made many tenders of
his affection to me (1.3.586). When further analyzed, the quote displays Ophelia s feelings
towards Hamlet and him viewing her as a potential candidate to be his wife. She admires him
because of the affection he attempts to show her. However, her brother sees through Hamlets act.
Shakespeare states in the text I shall th effect of this good lesson keep . As watchman to my heart,

What Is The Tone Of La Belle Dame Sans Merci

? Was it all just a dream? Or reality? Firstly, the speaker as the reader may assume is a man
because he is talking about a lady he met which he called her a faery s child, (14). As he said in
the poem he was, Alone and palely loitering (2,46). That certain stanza illustrated a man alone
with no sense of direction and no sense of love, but instead, lonesome. But they never went into
much detail on what he was doing or where he came from. Moving on, just from a few lines into
the poem the speaker s tone was coming off as melancholy. As the readers read it was clear to
see that there was a melancholy tone as the result of the speaker seemed genuinely sad and
gloomy with phrases as, O what can ail thee (1). This quote almost sounds like a cry for help or
just a cry out of last hope. He then goes on to say , I met a lady in the meads, ( 13 ). As stated
previously, this is when the poem turns from melancholy and alone to happy and almost hopeful.
Continuing on, the speaker in this poem became infatuated with this fairy like lady. As he said, I

Summary Of KeatsOde To A Nightingale
Keats Ode to a Nightingale, can be classified as one of those most well known Odes to ever be
written. Although the poem is a tough lyrical poem to understand, it is as if the poet feels the
pain and bleakness from the day to day repetitiveness of life; therefore, seeks to disappear into
the make believe world of the Nightingale to find relief which eventually leads him to
acknowledgment. While listening to the Nightingale sing, the poet describes Greek and Roman
figures to enhance the feelings he is portraying. The poet described an inconsistent life of
contradictory using the concept of life and death. As well as, representing the struggle of reality
and fantasy achieved through a transformed state of mind. One can see the poet s feelings are
described by words that show the mood of the situation while his thoughts change throughout the
poem. The day to day life of the poet is filled with pain and disappointment. Although the poem
starts out with, My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains (Line 1), momentarily, the poet is
happy because of the singing Nightingale which he describes as, some melodious plot (Line 8);
and it Singest of summer in full throated ease (Line 10). The poet uses musical language to give
the audience the portrayal of how the bird is singing. Quickly, the narrator is filled with agony
because he remembers that life is unpleasant and could be explained in the third stanza, Where
Beauty cannot keep her lustrous eyes, Or new Love pine at

However, I have witnessed some meetings at Portobello PR as well as witnessing one at Denison street methadone clinic. As I have seen and learnt I do understand the structure and requirements of having a meeting and the different types of meetings. Most meetings require a few preparation steps before the meetingwill happened this is usually organized by the manager or the owner. Tasks you need to do first is letting the meeting attendees know the Time, Location, attendees Requirements eg a data sheet. • 3. Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery Rule induction is one of the major forms of data mining and is perhaps the most common form of knowledge discovery in unsupervised learning systems. It is also perhaps the form of data mining that most closely resembles the process that most people think about when they think about data mining, namely mining for gold through a vast database. The gold in this case would be a rule that is interesting that tells you something about your database that you didn t already know and probably weren t able to explicitly articulate (aside from saying show me things that are interesting ). The bane of rule induction systems is also its strength that it retrieves all possible interesting patterns in the database. This is strength in the sense that it leaves no stone unturned but it can also be viewed as a weakness because the user can easily become overwhelmed with such a large number of rules that it is difficult to look through all of them. You almost need a second pass of data miningto go through the list of interesting rules that have been generated by the rule induction system in the first place in order to find the most valuable gold nugget amongst them all. This overabundance of patterns can also be problematic for the simple task of prediction because all possible patterns are culled from the database there may be conflicting predictions made by equally interesting rules. Automating the process of culling the most interesting rules and of combing the recommendations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. How Does Priestley Create Tension In An Inspector Calls An Inspector Calls is a play written by J.B. Priestly in 1945. The play, which is set in 1912, illustrates the vast status difference in society at the time. Priestly wanted to show to the audience a more dramatic look at the relationship between the wealthy and the poor. Priestley, a socialist, believed that we are all part of a community and have responsibilities to look after one another. Using the inspector as a mouthpiece, Priestley was able to cleverly convey his ideas of socialism and community under the idea of a murder mystery. She is a character that evolves as the play goes on, understanding her role in society and how she must look after each other. She is immediately upset at the death of Eva Smith; even with knowing which class she belonged to, Oh how horrible! . The use of punctuation for effect, ! , shows how Sheila is the second person (the first being Eric) so far to react so openly at the death of this young woman. Priestley uses this to emphasize the cold nature of the upper class, and how Mr. Birling seemed almost irritated at the fact that his night was being disturbed by such an insignificant reason, rather impatiently . The adverb impatiently portrays Mr. Birling s cold and hard nature. This shows how living in the upper class has made him indifferent to death and so has little emotion things like that. Sheila understands that everybody is human, therefore everybody is equal, these girls aren t cheap labor they re people . The noun people , is shown in italics, showing that it has been stressed. The emphasis on people , is used as a way to juxtapose Mr. Birling s views of the lower class, as animals and so cheap labor against Priestley s views; that we are all equal. However, in Miliwards where she got Eva fired from, shows how powerful your influence can be depending on your class. • 6. Informative Essay On Fake News Bogus News Everyone is tuned into the news because sometimes it has information the society needs to know. The reason I say sometimes must do with the fact that not all news is trustworthy. Fake news is seen very often and can be misinterpreted by many people. Well, what is fake news? I believe fake news is information that is false and just out there to get attention to it. Behind fake news comes fake ideas, most people s opinions on social media, and false predictions or sayings. Nowadays, anything could be considered as news but I think it s important to identify the real news from the fake ones. That way whatever anyone hears or sees will be reliable. According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Tan says, Fake ideas are more subtly dangerous than fake facts. I agree with this statement because facts are facts and ideas can be changed several times. When it comes to ideas, good or bad, some go beyond our expectations that we question ourselves, Will it happen? or Will it work? . Anyone can come up with an idea and expose what they created to the whole world. The Philippine Daily Inquirer states, ... they exaggerate an idea and twist its logic beyond recognition. In fake news any nonsense is shown and said but, the public can t distinguish was it true and what is false. If the news is about political issues or relates to something about the government, it should be accurate. The article Real Confusion about Fake News, Kappan explains, At present, we worry that ... • 9. Lup Fiasco Uses The Word Bitch The term bitch was first used to describe women in the fourteenth century, but before that it was used to describe a female dog (Bayley, P2). The slang word for bitch is a term for an undesirable woman with a high sex drive. Society back then (and now) is afraid of female sexuality. Calling a woman a bitch suggests that she is the same as a dogin heat. Right from the start, the word was used to dehumanize women and to shame us for being sexual beings. A bitch is subjugated, on the bottom. Being called a dog is not a compliment, but being a bitch is worse. • 10. Should Ionizing Radiation Be Used In Medical Diagnosis INTRODUCTION Radiation procedures used to diagnose medical conditions over the past century have grown from a scientific curiosity to a pervasive, essential part of modern health care. Radiology originated with ionizing radiation to diagnose human disease, however since discovering the physiological risks associated with ionizing radiation, such as mutation/cancer, an ongoing controversy arises as to whether ionizing radiation should be used in medical diagnosis. This investigation will analyze each end of the argument continuum to determine if ionizing radiation should continue to be used in medical diagnosis. There are different types of ionizing radiation, including gamma rays and x rays, which have been known to cause cancer. Additionally, because x rays can kill living cells, when improperly used they can cause severe burns, cancer, leukemia, and cataracts. They can speed aging, reduce immunity to disease, and bring about disastrous changes in the reproductive cells. Having few procedures employing ionizing radiation throughout your life may seem harmless, but as the levels of doses increase, your risk of developing cancer rises at the same rate, according to the LNT model. Figure 4 below exhibits potential medical consequences of certain periods of exposure to ionizing radiation: CONCLUSION Given the evidence, it can be concluded that while there are risks that arise with ionizing radiation in medical diagnosis, overall the benefits outweigh the risks, as doctors are able to diagnose various health concerns that would go undetected otherwise. • 12. Essay On Dog Desensitisation Fears and phobias are reversed by using operant conditioning techniques such as desensitisation, combined with positive re assosiation in order to help turn a negative association into a positive one (positive rewards). Whilst helping a dog overcome a fear of something using desensitisation or immersion therapy, a dog will always choose avoidance, but if the dog is allowed the option to choose avoidance, the fearwill never be overcome. So the only way a dog will overcome it s fear of bicycles would be to face it and work towards a more positive assosiation. Positive rewards are useful in this instance. A strong smelling food treat would be ideal, so that the dog is more keen on the reward it receives. Regarding a dogs fear of bicycles, desensitisation would be an ideal way to help a dog ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why is timing important when using treats as part of a behaviour modification program to help overcome a fear or phobia? When overcoming a fear or phobia with the use of treats, it is important to get the timing right. For example, a dog that is rewarded whilst still in a fearful state would make matters worse. A reward must be used to get the dog s attention and take it s mind off the source of the fear. It is important that you do not unintentionally reward the wrong behaviour as this can confuse a dog and encourage unwanted behaviour instead of the behaviour you want, whilst also prolonging the behaviour modification process. The key to rewarding behaviour is also reifnorcement, not bribery. Reinforcement is basically a reward given for a job well done, whilst bribary would be showing a dog a treat before the wanted behaviour, and only then giving them the reward. Bribery is best to be avoided as if you do not, you could create a dog that will only follow your commands when bribed with food and this is not ideal. So only show a dog the reward AFTER they have successfully completed a behavior, and not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is a long history of tattoos in the military, Sailors would get certain tattoos that signified where they were stationed. Soldiers in the army would get tattoos representing their units, and the most sacred of all military tattoos when they have lost a brother in combat. I believe that the government should let soldiers have tattoos below their elbows and below their knees because, tattoos are very mainstream, they are trained killers, most of the military has tattoos that would make them ineligible for reenlistment, it is one of the last ways soldiers can show self expression in the military, and tattoos have such a rich history in the military. • 15. The Boston Tea Party Was A Fair Protest By The Colonists Thesis: I believe that the Boston Tea Party was a fair protest by the colonists because the King of England was using the colonists for profit, and not treating them like real people by not listening to their outcries for help. Thus, the Boston Tea Party was the only way to get the King s attention and bring attention to how unfair the acts were to other colonists. What did the Tea Actsay? (1) The Tea Act said two things. First, it stated that the amount of actions needed to go through customs would be reduced for anyone exporting tea to the British colonies as said in the fifth paragraph of the act, ...and to export such tea to any of the British colonies or plantations in America, or to foreign parts, discharged from the payment of any customs or duties whatsoever; any thing in the said recited act, or any other act to the contrary notwithstanding. (SFI 1, americanhistory.abc clio.com). This part of the act was an attempt to save the nearly bankrupt East India Company, which had played a big role in the British victory over France in the Seven Year War by taking over multiple French settlements. The second thing the act stated was that there would be a new tax on the tea for the American colonists. The British thought that because the act would actually reduce the price of tea, even with the tax, the American colonists would accept this new act. • 17. Lady With Lapdog By Anton Chekhov Bad Romance As Haddaway once said, what is love? Baby, don t hurt me, don t hurt me no more. Everyone has a different perspective of what love really is. People can fall in love or believe they are in love because of physical attraction. Some may believe that lust can become into something more. In the short story, Lady with Lapdog by Anton Chekhov translated by David Magarshack, the main protagonist Gurov is married with a twelve year old daughter and two sons. He is not extremely happy with his family life so he likes to have small affairs to get away from it. As the plot develops he meets a girl named Anna, who he falls head over heels for, making the womanizer, fall in love. Even though what the did is immoral, it can be a good thing for the pair. They may have gotten out a situation that was not making them happy. Love can control the way people dictate their lives. Is it for the good of the people? Is it just some emotion that causes mischief? As seen in Lady with Lapdog, love is a powerful emotion that can alter people s motives as well as can change other s lives in an instant. Corruption siphons off public funds, obstructs the functioning of the single market, and distorts fair competition. Francis Bellamy wrote the Pledge of Allegiance in 1892 (Baer). He did this in the memory of the 400th anniversary of Columbus discovering America ( The Pledge ). Building the basis of the United States was the founding fathers of the nation. They were not all necessarily under a Christian belief; nonetheless, they did wish for the people of the United States to have morals and values (Williams). On the contrary, some people do not feel that the nation should follow what the founding fathers thought and did. Gewertz states, We decide to keep these sayings or traditions in play just because they were the values of our founding fathers. I have to say that not all the values of our founding fathers are values I want to embody. Despite the fact that the founding fathers assumed the existence of an almighty power, they also protected the right of the people to believe or not. Gewertz does not agree with all ideas of the founding fathers, but he also says, the phrase under God is in keeping with the intentions of the Founding Fathers. They anchored their thinking in the idea of a higher law in order to ensure that all power does not reside in the state. The Capulets and the Montagues engage in an altercation at the petrol station and I will discuss how mise en scene and cinematography are used in this sequence to construct meaning. Initially a fast paced high angled tracking shot of the streets, houses and buildings are used which displays the setting; this fast tracking shot is used along with intense non diegetic music which connotes a frantic and chaotic feeling for the spectator or could be used to reflect the tone of the movie. Text then appears on the screen reading In fair Verona the type face used was sans serif in childish bubble writing, a type face which is typically associated with comic books subsequently setting the tone of the film. Again numerous fast tracking shots of the chaotic urban city with zooms are used to reinforce the opening feel of bedlam. In a wide establishing shot, we can see the positioning of the Capulet and the Montague towers showing that the two families live and or work next to each other and that they are openly in close competition with each other. The Impact Of The Great Pyramids Of Egypt And The Pyramids What makes up a pyramid? 12 lines, 5 faces, 4 triangles, 1 base, and 5 vertexes and in the case of the Great Pyramids of Giza about 2.3 million stone blocks that weigh an average of 2.5 to 15 tons. That according to the time it took to build them they would have had to place and set a stone every 2 to 2 and a half minutes. To put that in perspective some weigh as much or more than an armed military cargo truck. So, imagine dragging a cargo truck with nothing but some strong rope and some other people. Now if you re like most people you can lift maybe 100 pounds. However, the average powerlifter can lift 350 to 400 pounds and that s just lift not pack around or drag across acres of land. Now how did the Egyptians build the Great Pyramid of Gizawith blocks that weigh up to 15 tons with the technology they had then? It s clearly very obtuse to think the pyramids were built by the Egyptians and the Egyptians alone. The question is, who helped them? I ll tell you who helped them. It was the beings that have been erased from human history, the ones hiding amongst the stars at all this time watching us. The ones that stop by to build their structures, while casually using our resources. The ones that built Stonehenge, the Pyramids, the face on Mars, Easter island, and the ones that make the crop circles, the Aliens. Were the aliens just being neighborly trying to help or did they have more incentive? The aliens had more than enough incentive to help build these structures, especially the pyramids. They took advantage of the Egyptians need for a sacred place to bury their kings and the obtuse triangleformed by Orion s Belt. They lined up the structures with the stars of Orion s Belt to create the energy column. Then, they created a complex tunnel system, so no one could ever find their transporter and then they left through the triangular column that forms between the pyramids and Orion. German artists, in particular, protested against the social structures prevalent during the 1910s, within which the social structures of the Second Reich were prevalent. • 31. The Importance Of Positive Relationships With Students In alliance with Maslow s hierarchy of needs, students need positive relationships to be successful in the classroom. It is important for students to feel important and needed in the classroom. Students need to be able to identify and see their purpose needed in the classroom, as well as their purpose as a student. As students identify their purpose in the classroom, they are able to feel supportive in the classroom. This allows for positive bonds to form and for students to become fully engaged in the classroom experience. Teachers have the opportunity to provide students with an inclusive, positive, and enjoyable experience, and failure to do this will cause negative effects on the students socially and academically. In a study conducted by Marzano, Marzano, and Pickering, positive teacher student relationships build the foundation for classroom management (Jones Jones, 2016, p.52). It is almost impossible for a teacher to manage a class without a positive relationship with the students. Students who do not have a positive relationship with a teacher will not follow rules or obey the teacher. The unique design of the Colosseum was not like other structures built at this time. A major difference it had from any theater or other event for public viewing was the audience was seated all around the event. The idea of seating the audience all around the event with the event at the bottom in the center became the basis for the modern sports stadium. Though, cooperation is not always possible or a welcome idea when it comes to states making decisions. Creating and claiming value are two of the most fundamental aspects of negotiation strategy that exist, but there is tension with one another. In any negotiation, the delegates need to decide which course of action to take whether that be competitive, cooperative, or some of both. David Lax and James Sebenius call this the negotiator s dilemma. It is similar to the prisoners dilemma in game theory, because this is a way of using rational choice and strategic thinking to describe situations. In a book written by D. Lax and J. The dilemma in this situation is in deciding whether to pursue a cooperative or a competitive strategy. The authors suggest several strategies to resolve this dilemma, and how to encourage cooperative approaches to creating mutually beneficial outcomes. Conflict analysts tend to view negotiations either as a matter of cooperating to create value, or as a matter of competing to claim values.
