The Importance Of A Formal Hindu Wedding
While working in the medical field I have become close to many of my patients. I treat my patients
with respect, kind, and I let them know that I do care for them and their personal wellness. I have had
so many patients come to me with open arms and want to include me into parts that they hold very
special and scared in their lives. Growing up my parents practice two different religions and taught me
to always have an open mind towards all different cultures and religions. A couple that have been
patients of mine for two years are from India. I have learned a lot regarding their culture and traditions
regarding how they care for themselves medically. Their son was arranged to get married on Friday

While they were split, the bride and groom had their own types of rituals that were performed the first
day and was with the same sex of the family to be. Men were with men and women were with women
from both sides of the family. I am not sure what specifics that took place because I did not attend the
first or second day. I was just able to ask what took place. During the second day the families of each
party filled the day with religious services. The family ask a certain person of the culture that has the
rights to pray for and bless the couple, that their Gods would support a peaceful wedding ceremony
and that all kinds of evil would be gone. The priest pray and asked the Gods that each the bride and
groom would find the inner strength to endure life s struggles, give them a peace of mind and that also
the wedding and marriage would go successfully. The end of the second day they did have a gathering
where the groom would go through a process called beautification where they would put make up on
him and they continued to honored the bride and groom with lots of food and dancing. The night
before the wedding, which is the third day, the bride and the groom were held in their individual
places where they were staying. Each party had family and friends show up at their places and had a

Newhaven Beaches Research Paper
Investigate process and/ or landform(s) along a stretch of a coast
Hypothesis
The transport of sediment affects the morphology of Newhaven beach and Castlehead cliff
This investigation will be exploring whether the movement of pebbles, shingle, shells and other
materials found on the beach have impacted on the shape and structure of Newhaven beach and
Castlehead Cliff. One of the key processes this investigation will focus on is that of long shore drift
caused by strong prevailing winds, prevailing wind is the direction from which the wind usually
blows. Cliffs are made from mainly two materials, chalk which is at the bottom and sand and clay at
the top. If cliffs are facing the direction of prevailing wind it may lead in high rates of cliff ... Show

Using a ranging pole ensuring a consistent height from different variable factors such as height. By
using a clinometer it is securing a valid angle to create an accurate beach profile, using a tape measure
with units such as cm and mm establishes more precise data. Constructing a beach profile determines
how the size of the beach changes. By repeating the investigation it allows results to be as precise and
reliable as possible. This ultimately helps me to either prove or disprove my hypothesis.
Beach sediment size Beach sediment classification card 1)From each ranging pole A B, observe the

allows the amount of long shore drift happening at each stage of the beach to be assessed and
evaluated. If the size of the rocks decrease in size closer to the harbour arm, it will help prove my

Athena And Mesopotamia Similarities
Located in various places throughout the world, the popular urban cities of Egypt, Mesoamerica, and
Mesopotamia used to serve as economic and ideological centers. Although there were many
similarities amongst these peculiar places, each city was different when it came to exhibiting
intellectual messages and meanings. As we take a closer look into the Amarna and the Medinet Habu
Temple of Egypt, one may notice how divided the domestic, economic, and religious spaces were in
comparison to other urban areas. On the other hand, while observing Teotihuacan and Tikal of
Mesoamerica, we were able to recognize the nature of the sacred city s landscape due to its open
plazas and how it legitimized the rule of kings. Lastly, while uncovering the ancient ... Show more

the social and political landscape of these two cities, it was not as separated when comparing to other
ancient urban areas. Emerging as one of the few competing City states that characterized
Mesopotamian civilization, the city of Ur was most known for its wealth and power of the ruling elite.
The Ziggurat temple of Ur Nammu was the city s most known place of worship that was dedicated to
Nanna, the moon god. Even today, the building s structure is considered a masterpiece due to the

Mckinsey And Its Secret Influence On American Business Essay
McKinsey consultants suggest that firms need to change with changing industry conditions and that
often firms needs to choose between protecting what they have built versus letting them go to make
room to focus on new business opportunities (McDonald, Duff (September 10, 2013). The Firm: The
Story of McKinsey and its Secret Influence on American Business. Simon Schuster). McKinsey s
further supports this position with their three horizons model that replaces core businesses in decline
with new growth options (McGrath; Ian MacMillan (March 16, 2009). Discovery Driven Growth: A
Breakthrough Process to Reduce Risk and Seize Opportunity. Harvard Business Review Press. p.
198). At the product level, we see products transitioning through different stages of their lifecycle.
Products move from introduction to growth and maturity stages, eventually passing into
commoditization and ultimately falling into decline. Each stage of the product life cycle requires
differing strategies to achieve successful product commercialization. Rangan and Bowman make a
distinction in that although products are called commodities, it is the relationship between the product
and the market that should be characterized as commoditization. Changing market dynamics signal a
shift towards commoditization. Customer reluctance to pay for product or service, pressure on price,
low customer loyalty, buyer s perception of little differentiation amongst suppliers, price as the only
selection criteria, are some

Colorblinness Theory Essay
As it becomes evident from the above tenets, critical race theory was developed and centered on issues
of race and racism that are embedded in American society. Alternatively, other scholars situate CRT
within four tenets: (1) racism is normal, (2) interest convergence, (3) historical context, and (4)
narrative (Taylor, 2009).
In addition, CRT pushes to confront racial ideologies like colorblindness, neutrality, meritocracy, and
white privilege (Bell, 1992; Delgado Stefancic, 2012; Gotanda, 1996; Crenshaw 1988). A closer
examination on colorblindness demonstrates why it is a major focus in CRT. In their critique of
colorblindness theory, sociologist Omi Winant (1994) identify how the color blind racial policy

Later, in response to the tenth anniversary of Ladson Billings and Tate s 1996 article on CRT in

into education, it remained closely aligned with four legal tenets of CRT, by stating the

Comparing The Gospels Of Matthew And Luke
The Gospels of Matthew and Luke are almost identical at times to each other, as well as the Gospel of
Mark. Interestingly enough, it is believed that Mark was written significantly earlier than the other two
Gospels mentioned. This means that it is very plausible that Mark was used as a source for the authors
of Matthew and Luke. That being said, there are stories included in both Matthew and Luke that are
almost identical to each other, but are not found in Mark. How could this be? This question has led
scholars to believe that there existed a document, in which they named Q , that both authors of
Matthew and Luke used as a source, other than Mark, when writing their books. In this analysis, I will

The Aim of Man Essays
Khouanchay (Kay) Krueger
Mr. Matthew Adams
English 150 SB Annotation 4
October 9, 2010
Aristotle The Aim of Man Aristotle starts off in his essay explaining the definitions of Good, Primacy
of Statecraft and the study of Ethics. He defines good as where all things are to be aimed, for example
health. He then defines Statecraft as citizens of a state, a country, and of the world need to do good for
their own good but more importantly for the good of the state. He also characterizes various types of
good. Finally, the definition on study of Ethics. This talks about the pure excellence of justice that
involves the disagreements and agreements of uncertainty and certainty. Aristotle also talks about
happiness and where a certain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He uses the metaphor of a chameleon to illustrate this. We are all different and when you think of a
chameleon, you first think of colors and personalities. In his example as a visual we can say that
people s happiness ranges so far and in between. My response to the topic about the aim of man is that
I agree that we all strive to achieve the very same goal as Aristotle points out; which is happiness. I
think that his essay captures his definition of happiness well by repeating it several times throughout.
This is effective to me because it is a repetitive way to enforce the topic. I agree with Aristotle
especially that one does not know happiness until they can make the discernment. For the same reason
he stated that a child can not be happy. I like his definition to happiness because it isn t just
characterized by good fortunes but it is much deeper in that it derives from the soul with perfect
righteousness. I can identify a strength of the essay is that he doesn t get off the topic often. He
touches about wealth and how that isn t the true source of happiness but quickly closes on the subject
and goes back to the good that we are seeking. Another example where he does this was towards the
end, he briefly talks about sleep is an inactivity of the soul. He clearly dismisses the subject by
pointing out its irrelevance. This makes the essay easier to follow. Another strength that I notice was
he used the

Hydrates Lab
The properties of hydrates lab centralized on discovering the characteristics of hydrates, such as the
percentage of water contained, determining if dehydration is reversible or not, as well as the
mathematical relationship of mass lost during dehydration. Hydrates contain water molecules in their
crystalline structure these molecules possess the capability of being removed by heat. By applying
water to the dehydrated substance, it can then be determined if the reaction is irreversible or not. This
could be applied to the real world in terms of dehydrated food. According to CK 12, by removing
water from food, commonly referred to as MREs (Meals Ready to Eat), an individual is capable of
carrying more items with him or her in a time of need ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The substance evolved some in the form of color, turning from blue to white, however it s overall
consistency remained the same, despite the difference in mass. Conversely, some substances such as
Epsom salt, do not undergo such a drastic alteration during the transformation to an anhydrous state.
Due to the transformation of the hydrated copper sulfate to its original color upon adding water, it can
be concluded that some hydrates do possess the capability of being rehydrated after dehydration and
vice versa. Yet other substances, like sugar, do not possess this capability due to the fact its overall
structure was changed upon applying heat. Applying heat to sugar involves the removal of water and
an overall breakdown of the substance. Once broken down, the sugar does not possess the capability
of reverting back to its original granule state, so it is an irreversible

The Theory Of Fictional Characters
Philosophy 356 Thomasson s Artifactual Theory of Fictional Characters The aim of this paper is to
demonstrate the basic principals of Thomasson s artifactual Theory of Fictional Characters while
offering support for its superiority over other theories due to its correspondence with the common
conceptions and practices of literature when concerning fictional characters. Being that fictional
characters are created solely in the works of literature (at least the fictional characters we are
pondering ) it makes common sense for the conditions to allow their existence to be described by
literature. Section 1 of this paper is devoted to outlining the main tenets of Thomasson s theory with
some comparative examples from other accounts of fictional characters. In section 2, I begin my
argument in support of this theory over that of other realist accounts. I also argue in support of the
artifactual theory of fictional characters when faced with opposition dealing with falsely predicted
properties. When trying to place fictional characters into an existing ontological category one is faced
with an abundance of problems yet, this is the primary route in which many philosophers take when
trying to describe what fictional characters are. From the beginning people are asking the wrong
question. This common mistake is asking where do fictional characters fit, instead of, what do i need
of fictional characters to best make sense of the common concerns and practices of literature in

The Addiction Of Technocentrism
f asked to define technocentrism, or a problem we don t know the solution to, many of us would
instantly turn to the interwebs in order to find our answer. If googled technocentrism definition , we
would find that is the value system that is centered on technology , which is the world we live in
today.
We have assimilated this technology into our culture and society impacting our psychology heavily. A
study in Japan of 92 men and 54 women showed that addiction of internet use and texting was
correlated with depression and anxiety(Lu, Xi, et al). In the study the lack of human emotion readily
available and the potential for a message to be received instantly, was shown to leave feelings of
neglect and isolation. An article from Mother Nature Network supports this data stating that, over text

simple text messages and leading to confusion of what was meant. The article also brings up the
overreliance further with the feeling of nakedness when without the phone. Claiming that people refer
to their Blackberry as a Crackberrys due to them checking frequently for emails and text messaging.
The claim from the populous is supported as one of the most addictive online activities from the
article, Internet gratiïŹcations and internet addiction, due to the addictive behaviors such as
withdrawals, and obsessive tolerance.
Other popular articles negate the claim of addiction as stating that the internet and social media act
more as a tool due to the internet being a requirement of modern society. (Monica Bator, Whitney
Young). They further state how teens spend 20 hours a week in front of a screen and that is simple
dependence rather than over depandance. Despite these claims, they refuse to acknowledge the major
cons affecting the psychological impact of the services that they use.
The study of X, Lu et al, illustrates how the internet as well distances the user from a wider social
circle, family, peers, and psychological well being due to the dependency on the web. As well as

know that MEC truly values your business and would like you to become apart of our business
structure going forward. Lastly, Mountain Equipment Co op has undertaken many business initiatives
to solidify customer loyalty from top to bottom of the organization. Back in 1997, they introduced a
free of charge online gear swap where members could recycle used outdoor gear. In 2007, MEC
opened the first accredited Green LEED(The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
distribution center in Surrey, British Columba. LEED encourages and accelerates global adoption of
sustainable green building and development practices. In 2008, MEC developed and launched a series
of annual national paddling and biking expositions. Its been clearly defined that MEC takes a very
Green approach when it comes to business, this is something that directly plays into that target market.
A self propelled wilderness oriented recreation goer would certainly buy into such strong values and
ultimately stick by that company.

through supporting price, promotion and distribution strategies. This allows them to gain loyalty from

Anne Bradstreet s The Prologue
Section One: The Prologue 208 09 Anne Bradstreet s The Prologue is generally considered one of her
most vivid statements regarding her role in a Puritan society. This is a poem where she reveals who
she is to her readers. Bradstreet is critical of those individuals who place restrictions on women s roles
in society, especially in consideration of a female writer in a male dominated environment. In the first
few stanzas Bradstreet talks about how her ability as a poet is not up to the task, unlike the work of
men. This is implied when she mentions that Let Poets and Historians set these forth. My obscure
lines shall not so dim their worth. Bradstreet goes further and mentions her lack of ability in writing
and wishes she had the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first lines of her poem she describes how a pilgrim reaches his goal. She references the pilgrim
as a symbol of determination and perseverance to be followed, especially when hoping to attain a
dream. Being a pilgrim herself, and living in a Puritan society, her audience was able to relate to her
plight and feelings about the journeys that are taken throughout one s life. In this poem, Bradstreet
uses her skills to compare the voyage to America from England to the journey a religious person is to
take to Heaven from Earth. Now that the journey of the pilgrim has ended, he no longer has to endure
the hardships of the trip to his destination, his dangers past, and travails done. However, in order to
reach his destination the pilgrim has made sacrifices, like leaving things behind. Otherwise he wouldn
t have been able to accomplish his feat, and therefore, to All cares and fears he bids farewell . Later
one Bradstreet contemplates how the pilgrim has been successful in his achievement, and how she
herself wanted to be part of such journey. Bradstreet sees herself in the image of the pilgrim,
renouncing to the world in her way to Heaven. She feels tempted, but obeys the will of God.
Bradstreet reminds others that while it is not easy to live a sinless life, the reward at the end is worth
all the effort. She understands the difficulties of her plan, and longs to be at rest and soar on high
among the blest. Although the journey is lengthy and arduous, Bradstreet realizes that there are still
many years before she achieves her goal, years in which she will have to continue following the
Commandments and struggling against the society she has been born in. Still, she continues her
journey, weary, but hoping for rest, until the day she completes her voyage to eternal life in

Reverse Racism In America
Racism has been an ongoing problem for decades, but now it has evolved into more complications
rather than black people versus white people and wanting equality.
The most heated debate about racism recently is if reverse racism exists or not.
With new laws like affirmative action that have an intent on helping african americans as well as
universities wanting more minorities in their programs, it s causing white americans to get upset due
to beliefs that the social system is not giving everybody equal opportunities. Whites have been
labeling this as reverse racism .
This is a sensitive issue that needs to be addressed.

In Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried, he emphasizes a chapter on The Man I Killed , which
describes the characteristics of a young Vietnamese man in which O Brien may or may not have killed
with a grenade. The novel is not chronologically sequenced, which leaves more room for the reader to
engage in a critical thought process that fully bridges the author s mind to their own. In O Brien s
chapter, The Man I Killed , he attempts to humanize the enemy in a way that draws little separation
between the enemy and himself by relating the enemy s life prior to the war to his, and illustrates the
war through the eyes of the soldiers who fought it. To understand The Man I Killed , the reader must

It wasn t until he went to war and was faced with the enemy that he would realize that the enemy wasn
t so different after all. His jaw was in his throat, his upper lip and teeth were gone, his one eye was
shut, his other eye was a star shaped hole..., writes O Brien as he studies the deceased enemy (118).
Throughout the novel, the author shows consistency with repeating stories and lines in a way to
present a greater image. He reminds the reader of details the elaborate his larger view. When he writes
of the man he killed, he wants the reader to imagine themselves in his shoes, as he imagined himself in
the enemies . As he carefully studies the dead man, he imagines how the boy found himself in the war.
By relating American society to the boy s village of My Khe, he bridges similarities connecting the
two by a culture that promotes defending one s land and ways of life. By saying, he would have been
taught that to defend the land was a man s highest duty and highest privilege, he shows there is
minimal difference between how most Americans view the military and the duty of the villagers in My
Khe (119). Although he had not known the exact history of the boy, he attempted to illustrate in his
own mind what his life may have been like prior to the invasion. The inability for O Brien to walk
away from the body as Kiowa continued to pry him away says he was troubled by the similarities.

John wrote to the seven churches explaining the need for a relationship with Christ. After speaking to
the seven churches that are in the Roman province of Asia, the book of Revelation moves forward in

after this. The point is to show us that the information concerning the seven churches has stopped. A
new series of images is beginning. John sees a door standing open in heaven. The voice that spoke to

Tourism Planning
Introduction
Robinson and Novelli (2005) note niche tourism has become a growing trend occurring in current
years in contrast to what is frequently related to as mass tourism . Cusack and Dixon (2006) add niche
tourism is known to present diversity and provide opportunities with a form of tourism that aims
towards sustainability alongside considering expenditure from tourists. Furthermore, it suggests a
more practical set of strategies that distinguishes tourists. Gartner (1996) demonstrates how niche
tourism consists of distinct interests, culture and/or activity built tourism including small proportion of
tourist in authentic surroundings. Moreover, niche tourism can fall into more specific categories where

It is important to note Ecotourism accounts for 6% of the worldwide GDP with an astounding growing
rate of 5% per annum (Nora, 2012).
Page and Dowling (2002) cite the relevance of understanding the different components between hard
and soft ecotourism. For example hard ecotourism is the desirable type which emphasises a long term
attitude towards nature. Additionally, trips tend to be specialised i.e. undertaken for ecotourism
purposes only, with participants likely to be environmentalists who are dedicated to the principles of
sustainability (Sharpley and Telfer 2002). In contrast soft ecotourism is the consideration of the short
term and favourable with many participants who are tourists with less appreciation for the
environment. Moreover, soft ecotourism occurs in a less natural setting such as wildlife parks,
however is usually accompanied by a high level of service and facility provision (Weaver and Lawton,
2002).
Orams (1995) highlights the purpose for ecotourism becoming an important aspect in recent years. He
suggests the term can be outlined back to the 1980 s, with invention being the outcome of increased
acknowledgment of and response to negative effects as a consequence of mass tourism in natural
spaces. Middleton and Hawkins

Retinol Hypothesis
The relationship between polychlorinated biphenyls and thyroid hormones and retinol was studied
focusing on two groups of female polar bears (females with cubs of the year and females without
cubs) and within a group of males. PCB is an industrial organochlorine chemical by product which has
toxic effects. Since PCB is volatile it is deposited in the polar regions. PCB negatively impacts brain
development due to their impact on the thyroid system. It also causes menstrual dysfunction,
anovulation, and miscarriage. The polar bear feeds on the seals which contain OCs in their fatty
tissues so the PCB congeners can greatly accumulate in their body. There are two main types of

mothers fasted for at least three months and the control group in the study was the mothers who were

Amaterasu s Downfall
How Japan Ceased to Revolve Around the Sun Shintoism has deep roots in both the culture and
government of Japan; it EDIT. The goddess Amaterasu is a major part of Shinto lore, and, some would
argue, the Japanese government. However, Amaterasu had as much of a role in the governing body as
the Japanese Emperor himself did very little. Her influence extended only as far as the duties allotted
to the Emperor, who, since the conception of his position, has been merely a figurehead. At certain
points, even the emperors themselves did not support Amaterasu, and abandoned Shintoism altogether.
After a brief renaissance during the Meiji period, the Emperor, and in effect, Amaterasu went back to a
rule based only in pageantry and ceremonial charge. [source 1]

Buddhist priests were forced out of their shrines if they refused to convert, and shunned by the

fearing it would gain strength. Acting swiftly, on May 15th, 1868, the government issued an order to
all clans saying:
During the recent revival of Imperial rule, Christianity has begun to spread again and is likely to do
great harm to the state. We cannot allow this to continue. Bring the leaders together and explain to
them the error of their ways. If they repent, destroy all Christian books and images and have them
swear alligience before the Shinto Kami. If they refuse to repent, we have no recourse other than to
behead a number of the leaders, expose the heads, and to exile the rest to enforced labor in other clans.
After a number of years, when they have lost every trace of their faith and when they have manifested
complete repentance, they may go home.[source

The Pros And Cons Of Modern Censorship
Duy Nguyen

Prof. Ferrier Watson
ENGL 1302
Modern Censorship What is censorship? Censorship means the process to examine a work, a piece of
art, etc... in order to suppress or delete any object in it that may seem objectionable or harmful. But
why is there censorship? Writing has always been a risky venture, fraught with ethical, political and
financial pitfalls. If we look at the history of the world writing, we can see that it is filled with
examples of censorship in many aspects ( political, social, personal ) and the authors of those writing
have often risked much for the sake of their written words and for the sake of their readers. So is
censorship right or wrong? To me, however, I think that there is no clear answer to that question, for
censorship has its fair balance of advantages and disadvantages to its certain limit. A lot of people said
censorship is right, cause it keeps the young generation safe from the words that might ruin their mind,
but some said censorship is unnecessary because of it just words and sooner or later all kids will hear
and know what those words mean. In my opinion, some part of censorship is good but it depends on
the limit that is taken and how extreme censorship goes. I do agree with one advantage that most
people also agree about is that censorship helps protects the young, the innocent and the vulnerable. It
is built on the premise that we don t always know what is good for us, we

Analysis Of Erika Schickel s Magic Hour
Los Angeles, the City of Angels, is filled with various cultures and people from around the world. Los
Angeles is known for many things from our food to the Griffith Observatory or the Hollywood sign.
Los Angeles is often referred to as the melting pot of cultures. Often portrayed in the movies, people
come to Los Angeles to be the next movie star and live a glamorous life filled with over the top
parties, but Another City challenges that idea. Magic Hour shows Los Angeles a not so glamorous side
of LA, but also shows the beauty of Los Angeles. In Another City: Writings From Los Angeles edited
by David L. Ulin, a collection of short stories and poems about Los Angeles, the writers write about
coming to Los Angeles or growing up in LA and how this city shapes the residents identities and how
Los Angeles is seen to outsiders and residents. Magic Hour is about Erika Schickel views on Los
Angeles and how it shapes her and her views on the city, she explores the relationship between herself
and the city.
Magic Hour by Erika Schickel is about Schickel s leaving her old life in New York and moving to Los
Angeles to pursue a career in acting. On a page of Magic Hour, Schickel writes, Lonely, broke,
homesick. I could not remember who I was, who I had been, who I hoped to be (Schickel 65.) Living
in Los Angeles makes the author question who she is and if the life she wants is worth of pursuing.
Schickel s relationship with Los Angeles is not ideal at the beginning.

Molarity Of Potassium Iodine
The data supports the hypothesis that an exponential relationship will be found between the change in
temperature and the reaction rate, and that the highest temperature will have the fastest rate of
reaction. The data also supports the hypothesis that as the concentration of Potassium Iodine increases
so will the reaction rate, and vice versa for an increase in Sodium Thiosulphate concentration. The
hypothesis that the Iron (II) ions will affect the reaction rate, and that the optimal amount will be about
0.1M of catalyst was partially supported.
In Graph 1 the data shows an exponential rate of change as the molarity of the Potassium Iodine
increases so does the average rate of reaction. The average rate of reaction is like trends in the data
that are expected, as according to the collision theory an increase in the amount of Potassium Iodine
will increase the number of collisions with sufficient energy and correct orientation. This correlates to
the data recorded by Lawrence Kok in his research conducted in this area (results showed in Appendix
C) (kok, 2017).
In Graph 2 the data is imprecise as there is a few possible outliers that couldn t be removed as there
weren t enough data points to decide where the standard deviation would place the data. As such there
are not many trends shown in this graph, except that there a relationship between the molarity of the
Na2S2O3 and the average rate of reaction. This trend is that as the concentration of the Sodium

and of course, this did not stop Erasmus from spreading his statements of ridicule across the lands of

Why College Should Go To College
Most kids in elementary school believe that they will go to college and become whatever they want,
all they have to do is choose what they want to be, some choosing between a police man, lawyer or
doctor. However things are not as simple as we were told as kids and nowadays people are wondering
if they should even go to college. The increased cost of debt in student loans are one of the main
reasons why people are weary of going to college. People believe that college is a waste of time and
money, however I believe the opposite and that college is the best way to have a financially successful
future as well as become a productive member of society.
While one may argue that there are many billionaires without college degrees like Bill Gates and Mark
Zuckerberg they should also take into account that they both briefly attended Ivy League schools and
that their success stories are an extremely rare occurrence. On average a high school degree can only
get you an annual salary of about $35,000 while a bachelor s degree can get you an annual salary of
around $65,000. The fact that in 4 years you can double your annual income should be enough
evidence that college is where you should go after high school. Along with getting more pay a college
education also provides you with networking. In college you meet your fellow co workers and
business partners that may help you get your next job, and professors who are professionals in their

Products move from introduction to growth and maturity stages, eventually passing into commoditization and ultimately falling into decline. Each stage of the product life cycle requires differing strategies to achieve successful product commercialization. The Aim of Man Essays Khouanchay (Kay) Krueger Mr. Matthew Adams English 150 SB Annotation 4 October 9, 2010 Aristotle The Aim of Man Aristotle starts off in his essay explaining the definitions of Good, Primacy of Statecraft and the study of Ethics. He defines good as where all things are to be aimed, for example health. He then defines Statecraft as citizens of a state, a country, and of the world need to do good for their own good but more importantly for the good of the state. He also characterizes various types of good. Finally, the definition on study of Ethics. In his example as a visual we can say that people s happiness ranges so far and in between. My response to the topic about the aim of man is that I agree that we all strive to achieve the very same goal as Aristotle points out; which is happiness. I think that his essay captures his definition of happiness well by repeating it several times throughout. This is effective to me because it is a repetitive way to enforce the topic. I agree with Aristotle especially that one does not know happiness until they can make the discernment. For the same reason he stated that a child can not be happy. I like his definition to happiness because it isn t just characterized by good fortunes but it is much deeper in that it derives from the soul with perfect righteousness. I can identify a strength of the essay is that he doesn t get off the topic often. He touches about wealth and how that isn t the true source of happiness but quickly closes on the subject and goes back to the good that we are seeking. Another example where he does this was towards the end, he briefly talks about sleep is an inactivity of the soul. He clearly dismisses the subject by pointing out its irrelevance. This makes the essay easier to follow. Another strength that I notice was he used the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The substance evolved some in the form of color, turning from blue to white, however it s overall consistency remained the same, despite the difference in mass. Due to the transformation of the hydrated copper sulfate to its original color upon adding water, it can be concluded that some hydrates do possess the capability of being rehydrated after dehydration and vice versa. Yet other substances, like sugar, do not possess this capability due to the fact its overall structure was changed upon applying heat. Being that fictional characters are created solely in the works of literature (at least the fictional characters we are pondering ) it makes common sense for the conditions to allow their existence to be described by literature. Section 1 of this paper is devoted to outlining the main tenets of Thomasson s theory with some comparative examples from other accounts of fictional characters. In section 2, I begin my argument in support of this theory over that of other realist accounts. I also argue in support of the artifactual theory of fictional characters when faced with opposition dealing with falsely predicted properties. When trying to place fictional characters into an existing ontological category one is faced with an abundance of problems yet, this is the primary route in which many philosophers take when trying to describe what fictional characters are. Being a pilgrim herself, and living in a Puritan society, her audience was able to relate to her plight and feelings about the journeys that are taken throughout one s life. In this poem, Bradstreet uses her skills to compare the voyage to America from England to the journey a religious person is to take to Heaven from Earth. Now that the journey of the pilgrim has ended, he no longer has to endure the hardships of the trip to his destination, his dangers past, and travails done. However, in order to reach his destination the pilgrim has made sacrifices, like leaving things behind. Otherwise he wouldn t have been able to accomplish his feat, and therefore, to All cares and fears he bids farewell . Tourism Planning Introduction Robinson and Novelli (2005) note niche tourism has become a growing trend occurring in current years in contrast to what is frequently related to as mass tourism . Cusack and Dixon (2006) add niche tourism is known to present diversity and provide opportunities with a form of tourism that aims towards sustainability alongside considering expenditure from tourists. Furthermore, it suggests a more practical set of strategies that distinguishes tourists. Gartner (1996) demonstrates how niche tourism consists of distinct interests, culture and/or activity built tourism including small proportion of tourist in authentic surroundings. Moreover, niche tourism can fall into more specific categories where cultural, environmental, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important to note Ecotourism accounts for 6% of the worldwide GDP with an astounding growing rate of 5% per annum (Nora, 2012). Page and Dowling (2002) cite the relevance of understanding the different components between hard and soft ecotourism. For example hard ecotourism is the desirable type which emphasises a long term attitude towards nature. Additionally, trips tend to be specialised i.e. undertaken for ecotourism purposes only, with participants likely to be environmentalists who are dedicated to the principles of sustainability (Sharpley and Telfer 2002). In contrast soft ecotourism is the consideration of the short term and favourable with many participants who are tourists with less appreciation for the environment. Moreover, soft ecotourism occurs in a less natural setting such as wildlife parks, however is usually accompanied by a high level of service and facility provision (Weaver and Lawton, 2002). Orams (1995) highlights the purpose for ecotourism becoming an important aspect in recent years. He suggests the term can be outlined back to the 1980 s, with invention being the outcome of increased acknowledgment of and response to negative effects as a consequence of mass tourism in natural spaces. Retinol Hypothesis The relationship between polychlorinated biphenyls and thyroid hormones and retinol was studied focusing on two groups of female polar bears (females with cubs of the year and females without cubs) and within a group of males. PCB is an industrial organochlorine chemical by product which has toxic effects. Since PCB is volatile it is deposited in the polar regions. PCB negatively impacts brain development due to their impact on the thyroid system. It also causes menstrual dysfunction, anovulation, and miscarriage. The polar bear feeds on the seals which contain OCs in their fatty tissues so the PCB congeners can greatly accumulate in their body. There are two main types of Thyroid hormone : T4 and T3. Intelligence In Flowers For Algernon In the novel Flowers for Algernon , by Daniel Keyes, A 37 year old man, named Charlie Gordon, has a below average IQ and undergoes an experiment to increase his intelligence. After taking part in the experiment, Charlie s intellect gradually increases until he is a genius. Charlie, slowly matures mentally and starts to really live and fully experience his adulthood. However, near the end of the story, his IQ decreases right back to where he started. The experiment enabled Charlie to understand his past, see the world as it is and feel complex emotions. Participating in the experiment gave Charlie the ability to really feel and understand himself and the world, it was definitely worth it. To begin with, Charlie loses his ignorance/naiveness and is able to make his own judgment of the world and it s people. The goddess Amaterasu is a major part of Shinto lore, and, some would argue, the Japanese government. However, Amaterasu had as much of a role in the governing body as the Japanese Emperor himself did very little. Her influence extended only as far as the duties allotted to the Emperor, who, since the conception of his position, has been merely a figurehead. At certain points, even the emperors themselves did not support Amaterasu, and abandoned Shintoism altogether. • 33. The Pros And Cons Of Modern Censorship Duy Nguyen 10/26/17 Prof. Ferrier Watson ENGL 1302 Modern Censorship What is censorship? Censorship means the process to examine a work, a piece of art, etc... in order to suppress or delete any object in it that may seem objectionable or harmful. But why is there censorship? Writing has always been a risky venture, fraught with ethical, political and financial pitfalls. If we look at the history of the world writing, we can see that it is filled with examples of censorship in many aspects ( political, social, personal ) and the authors of those writing have often risked much for the sake of their written words and for the sake of their readers. So is censorship right or wrong? To me, however, I think that there is no clear answer to that question, for censorship has its fair balance of advantages and disadvantages to its certain limit. A lot of people said censorship is right, cause it keeps the young generation safe from the words that might ruin their mind, but some said censorship is unnecessary because of it just words and sooner or later all kids will hear and know what those words mean. In my opinion, some part of censorship is good but it depends on the limit that is taken and how extreme censorship goes. I do agree with one advantage that most people also agree about is that censorship helps protects the young, the innocent and the vulnerable. It is built on the premise that we don t always know what is good for us, we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Molarity Of Potassium Iodine The data supports the hypothesis that an exponential relationship will be found between the change in temperature and the reaction rate, and that the highest temperature will have the fastest rate of reaction. The data also supports the hypothesis that as the concentration of Potassium Iodine increases so will the reaction rate, and vice versa for an increase in Sodium Thiosulphate concentration. The hypothesis that the Iron (II) ions will affect the reaction rate, and that the optimal amount will be about 0.1M of catalyst was partially supported. In Graph 1 the data shows an exponential rate of change as the molarity of the Potassium Iodine increases so does the average rate of reaction. The average rate of reaction is like trends in the data that are expected, as according to the collision theory an increase in the amount of Potassium Iodine will increase the number of collisions with sufficient energy and correct orientation. This correlates to the data recorded by Lawrence Kok in his research conducted in this area (results showed in Appendix C) (kok, 2017). In Graph 2 the data is imprecise as there is a few possible outliers that couldn t be removed as there weren t enough data points to decide where the standard deviation would place the data. As such there are not many trends shown in this graph, except that there a relationship between the molarity of the Na2S2O3 and the average rate of reaction. Why College Should Go To College Most kids in elementary school believe that they will go to college and become whatever they want, all they have to do is choose what they want to be, some choosing between a police man, lawyer or doctor. However things are not as simple as we were told as kids and nowadays people are wondering if they should even go to college. The increased cost of debt in student loans are one of the main reasons why people are weary of going to college. People believe that college is a waste of time and money, however I believe the opposite and that college is the best way to have a financially successful future as well as become a productive member of society. While one may argue that there are many billionaires without college degrees like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg they should also take into account that they both briefly attended Ivy League schools and that their success stories are an extremely rare occurrence. On average a high school degree can only get you an annual salary of about $35,000 while a bachelor s degree can get you an annual salary of around $65,000. The fact that in 4 years you can double your annual income should be enough evidence that college is where you should go after high school.
