Air Cargo Portal Services Brings
Question 1
Information systems have become a major part of the almost all industries including the air cargo
industry. Information systems have helped the air cargo industry remain competitive, provide
customers and other with an efficient and easy to use service, and has kept the industry up to date. In
2003, Cargo Patrol Services (CPS) opened for business as the air cargo industry s first full service
Internet portal that provided the industry with an electronic booking and shipment management
system. Without this new system, the air cargo industry would have suffered, especially after the
September 11th terrorist attacks when investments in airline declined.
The purpose of the new information system was to implement a process that ... Show more content on

Question 4
The level of project risk is influenced by project size, project structure, and the level of technical
expertise of the information systems staff and project team.
Technology level is low. The Unisys aircargo system was already used by two of the three carriers
(Air Canada, United, and Northwest), and Unisys also had the advantage of Web development and
integration expertise gained from other projects. Unisys also decided on an object oriented approach to
reuse existing modules from its other projects: key technologies such as a weblogic server and a
multitier architecture using J2EE.
Project structure is medium low. Unisys need to create a system that would work with the various
legacy systems and the differing procedures used by airlines. The site had to satisfy the requirements
of the three launch carriers and also make it easy for other carriers to adopt after the portal went live.
Project size is large. The original broad design had to be broken down into detailed specifications,
which took three months and required the three carriers to set aside all of their competitive issues and
differences.

Why Is Hmong Culture Important
Many cultures have certain traditions that are very important to them. For example, the Hmong culture
has a tradition about marriage. When a Hmong man wants to get married and start a family, he has to
ask two specific men called Mekoob , to go with him to his women s house and formally ask the
parents for their daughter s hand in marriage. They later talk about the wedding plan and the price for
everything. The husband and his family have to pay for all the expenses. There is also a tradition
called Noj Pebcaug . This is where the Hmong celebrate the New Year and ask our fore fathers for
good luck in the upcoming New Year. The Hmong are not the only ones that have certain traditions
that are important. The Jewish culture also has a tradition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Jewish culture has a tradition called a Bar and Bat mitzvah. This tradition is to signify that a boy
and a girl are old enough to be called a woman or a man. Also, this will give responsibility to the soon
to be man or woman. Having a Bar or Bat mitzvah shows that the boy or girl can be accounted for
their own actions. To take responsibility in what they do wrong and what they do right. This ceremony
usually start at the age of 13 for boys and the age of 12 for girls. Though, Bar and Bat mitzvahs are
celebrated young some choose to have the ceremony when they are adults, which has been growing in
popularity. Also, the Jewish wedding ceremony is an important tradition too. Before the wedding
ceremony, the groom agrees to be bound by the terms of the ketubah, or marriage contract. The
ketubah details the obligations of the groom to the bride, which are food, clothing and marital
relations. A traditional Jewish wedding ceremony takes place under wedding canopy, symbolizing the
new home being built by the couple when they become husband and wife. Some Jewish culture has a
custom to cover the face of the bride, followed by a prayer. The husband is then led under the wedding
canopy by the two fathers and the wife by the two mothers. After, the rings are the presented and then
the groom and bride puts them on for one another. Lastly, there is the breaking of the glass where he

Examples Of Reconciliation In Australia
The Freedom Ride and Tent Embassy are both extremely significant events and had long lasting
impacts on reconciliation and the plight of the indigenous. Reconciliation in Australia is the movement
aimed at building unity between Indigenous and non Indigenous Australians. The Tent Embassy was
established on the 26th of January 1972, positioned across from what was then Parliament House, in
Canberra, where Indigenous activists protested for equality and land rights. For similar reasons, was
the Australian Freedom Ride (1965) inspired by the American Civil Rights movements when a group
of students from the University of Sydney travelled around Western NSW in a bus also aimed to raise
awareness and encourage resistance against discrimination and poor standards of living conditions of
Indigenous Australians.
Both examples of political activism through the Tent Embassy and Freedom Ride was significant and
effective in accelerating the movement towards indigenous equality and reconciliation in Australia.

Huck Finn Superstition
In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn superstition appears extensively. The superstition allows the

for him and Jim. Superstition remain in the thoughts of Huck no matter what he goes through. When
he makes a wrong decision Jim usually alerts him about a superstition and he learns something new
from the experience. Superstition creates a solid foundation for everything done in the book.

Analysis Of The Poem Judith Of Bethulia ( Brine, Ciletti...
INTRODUCTION
The poem Judith illustrates the executing of Assyrian general Holofernes by Judith of Bethulia (Brine,
Ciletti and Lähnemann 86). The poem looks at Judith as a woman of morals, courage, and religious
conviction, and her character is portrayed as virtuous and blameless. Judith returns victorious to her
city after killing the mortal enemy, and her people proceed to win the battle against their foes (Brine,
Ciletti and Lähnemann 86). Thus, the poet gives an opportunity to witness the efforts of the poet
trying to fit a female into a setting of men in the society. The poem majorly focuses on heroism and
the main styles are looked at with respect to themes within Judith poem. Judith s beauty is adored and
symbolized throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though giving Judith the military role may be a deliberate choice by the poet. The clearest indicator of
the poet to portray Judith as a military leader is his use of contrast. The poet depicts Holofernes as the
epitome of evil. In contrast, Judith is depicted as pure goodness (Brine, Ciletti and Lähnemann 98).
Therefore, the two characters directly oppose each other. The two groups represented by Holofernes
and Judith, the Assyrians and Bethulians are also contrasted via a clever use of traditional heroic
language.
It is natural to see Judith as everything that a commander needs to be. For instance, on the night
preceding the battle between the Bethulians and Assyrians, Holofernes calls the senior soldiers of his
army to a feast. Certainly, Holofernes does not know that the Bethulians will attack the following day,
but a military commander probably would not allow all of his soldiers to be made drunk (Brine, Ciletti
and Lähnemann 100). In the same instance, the poet refers to Judith s battle is fought on a bed against
an unconscious man and not on the battlefield. Is Judith act is not heroic as Holofernes passes out after
drinking too much. She does not kill Holofernes in the heat of battle, but rather in a quite cold blooded
fashion.
Judith s actions are very personalized and private, in contrast to male heroes. The poet stresses the
secretive environment of Holofernes s tent and bed. The

The Food Of Food Industry
Additives in Food
People used to appreciate wholesome, nutritious food. These days, the American diet is comprised of
primarily processed food. Is health being sacrificed for convenience? What is really in the food that
Americans eat? Are all the preservatives and additives hurting consumers more than they are helping?
There are definitely benefits to the modern food industry; however, consumers want to be sure that
these benefits outweigh the risks associated with this new food technology. Food manufacturers seem
to be doing well short term, but consumers do not want to suffer in the long run from all these
unnatural additives and processes. These additional chemicals in food may be causing diseases
without us realizing it. People spend so much time investigating which TV, car or even house to buy.
Certainly, they should spend as much time if not more considering what to fill their shopping carts
with at the grocery store. Even though additives help increase food production and food preservation,
people should be careful about what they eat and try to avoid unnecessary additives because they are
unnatural, unhealthy and compromise the wholesomeness of the food.
Literature Review
Laliberte (n.d.) presented the benefits and risks associated with additives in food and explained that
the new food technology is so popular because it is inexpensive, effective, and convenient. People
enjoy the ease of ready made food and the advertising makes it all the more appealing

this conflagration to be extinguished one day, nothing would be left in the sky but extinct stars and

Dôjôji in setsuwa, illustrated scroll and Noh play

Devastated by a young monk who refused to have a relationship with and ran away from her, a woman
turned into serpent, chased the monk into a temple and finally destroyed him even though he hid
himself carefully under the big temple bell . This is the summary of the Dōjōji legend, a story which
has been recycled many times through history. Being one of the most popular themes in Japanese arts
and literature, it appeared in numerous versions and has been adapted to a wide variety of media. In
this paper, I will look into three of them Setsuwa, illustrated scroll and Noh play and make some
comparisons. I will try to demonstrate how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, the woman is depicted as evil, lustful, and furious when rejected. In her essay,
Susan Blakeley Klein attributes this extremely negative view of women to one possible function of the
setsuwa: a cautionary tale specifically addressed to monks and priests to persuade them to avoid
women and exclude them from the realm of the spiritual .
The Dôjôji Engi Emaki
The Dōjōji Engi Emaki is an illustrated narrative scroll which was made in the Muromachi period
based on the earlier versions of the Dôjôji story. It is now a national treasure in the possession of
Dôjôji temple, Wakayama. This kind of illustrated scroll was often used in a medieval performance art
called etoki 絵解き, in which a performer displays the scroll to his/her audience while explaining the
illustrations and narrating the story. Even today, you can still enjoy a live performance given by
monks in the Dôjôji temple, though the scroll they use is a variant of the Engi Emaki produced early
in the twentieth century.
Although being based on the earlier setsuwa versions of the Dôjôji story, the Dôjôji Engi Emaki is
more like an independent work. It consists of four major parts: illustrations that depict the story;
Monogatari, the opening part that designates the time, places, actors and backgrounds; serifu, the lines
of speech uttered by the characters themselves; etoki lines, the narrations given by the explainer. The
verbal narration is

Moreover, in the later part of the declaration, when they do their proposals and demands, for multiple
times, they mention their target audience. One of their most important readers, the government , is
mentioned many times in the article. Like when they say We demand that the international community
and governments recognize and respect our rights to our territories (Beijing Declaration of Indigenous
Women, 22), and when they declare We urge the governments who are opening up out territories to
foreign investors especially to mining corporations, to respect these rights. (Beijing Declaration of
Indigenous Women, 23), they always emphasize the word government , which accurately locks their
audience with the group related to official departments, say government, international organizations,
the United Nations, and so on. They to some extent ignore the public, the teenagers, the elders, the
people outside the indigenous group and have mere interest in acknowledging this issue solely to the
government. They are not intending to persuade everybody, only calling the government to take
actions to satisfy indigenous peoples demands. Secondly, because of the special audience they have,
their language style is also distinctive. The tone of the article is official and serious due to the situation
of being present in a worldwide famous conference in Beijing. The style is best defined by their

Latin Dance Fiesta
On Saturday, April 22, 2017, I attended a Latin Dance Fiesta event at the Queens Theatre, the event
featured Sisa Pakari Danza Ecuador, Ballet Folclórico del Salvador, Ballet Folklórico Paraguayo and
Bombazo Dance Company. The show started with Sisa Pakari Danza Ecuador with an Andean song
dedicated to Pacha Mama/Mother Earth, this song is to thank the earth for a good harvest. The dancers
were wearing traditional garments, the women artists had embroidered white blouses (camisas),
shawls (rebozos), black wrap skirts (anakus), gold colored bead necklaces (walkas) and red bead

This song is well known in el Salvador since it is usually presented at cultural activities. The dancers
wore typical costumes, with the women dressed in white with colorful embroidered shirts and skirts,
and men wore traditional pants and embroidered shirts.
The third dance company to follow onto the stage was Ballet Folklórico Paraguayo. The group,
performed by four female dancers, moved at the rhythms of the Paraguayan polka which combines
ternary and binary rhythms, whereas the European form only uses binary. The announcer informed
that, the most famous style of music in Paraguay is Guarania, created by the Paraguayan musician
José Asunción Flores in 1926. The Guarania accomplishes this by using a combination of slow
rhythms and melodies of melancholia character. The dancers were wearing traditional full pleated
skirts decorated with lace, their blouses were worn off the shoulder and the sleeves were made of lace.
The body of their blouses were embroidered in red, white and blue which are the colors of the
Paraguayan flag, I also noticed that their hair was worn up and their jewelry was of silver and coral
color. In my opinion, this was one of the most impressive group of dancers of the event, because the

Public Key Infrastructure
Public key infrastructure, known as PKI supports the distribution and identification of public
encryption keys which allows users and computers to securely exchange data over the internet and
networks to confirm the identity of the other party. Without PKI, sensitive information can still be
encrypted and exchanged, but there would be no assurance of the identity of the other party. Any form
of sensitive data exchanged over the Internet is reliant on PKI for security.
A standard PKI consists of several components: hardware, software, policies and standards,
administration, distribution of keys and digital certificates. Digital certificates are at the heart of PKI
as they confirm the identity of the certificate subject and bind that identity to the public key contained
in the certificate. A typical PKI includes several key elements. A trusted party, known as a certificate

Mr. Harvey Thought A Lot Essay
Mr. Harvey thought a lot. To say the least, time had been his only friend for years. Mr. Harvey was the
type of man to think all kinds of kooky and abstract things. He liked to think of how there had only
ever been one yellow paddle boat for hire amongst the numerous blue down at the rivers dock. He
thought of how on cheery spring days the children would beg their parents to leave a few minutes
earlier to snatch it up before the other kids did. He used to watch them for hours, the amusement on
their faces riding along the steady waters laughing at the other children because they got stuck in the
boring blue paddle boats. Time was funny like that he thought. Getting to the docks those couple
moments earlier than the other children, granted hours of joy because their yellow boat happened to
bet better than all the blues. He also thought them absurd, to Mr. Harvey colours were just colours, not
measures of happiness. But he knew the youths naivety was all that made them young.
He thought about Delilah s Deli which sat directly below his scungy old flat back in 1945. He used to
pick up one punnet of sun dried tomatoes, a 250g block of cheese and a small jar of pitted black olives
every Sunday morning at exactly 9:05, purely because that was when their stock was fresh and was
guaranteed to last the week. He remembered the betrayal he d felt when a little sign saying Closed For

Essay about Maximus and Odysseus
Maximus and Odysseus
While watching the film Gladiator with my girlfriend I realized the striking similarities that heroes
share. However, I always wonder who is more of a hero. The definition or hero is a person noted for
feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life. So
let us compare the two heroes as the dictionary defines them. In the end I hope to be able to define
who is a greater hero.
Maximus was a great warrior in the Roman legion under Emperor Marcus Aurelius. His first
courageous feat occurs when he defeats the last of the Barbarians of Germaina. Leading his army
along a 12 year campaign he brought it to an end. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although they are opposite ends of the spectrum, they both must go from one extreme to the other to
get to the end of their story.
Starting with Odysseus courageous efforts he first defeats the Trojans at the battle of Troy with the
wooden horse. Much like Maximus his story begins with him winning a great war that has gone on for
years. Odysseus must use his intellect more so than his brute strength, such as when he escapes the
Cyclops. Unlike Maximus Odysseus makes the mistake right off the bat of revealing his name to the
Cyclops when he is leaving, thus he cannot return home yet because he hasn t become a nobody yet.
The reoccurring theme between the two that I see is that the must reach a certain state before the end
of their story can take place. Odysseus has to become a plain man not a war hero, and Maximus must
win the crowd over and they need to know who is so he cannot be slain in the dungeons. In his last
great show of strength Odysseus strings a bow and kills the suitors that were trying to steal his wife
from him while he was gone.
Odysseus finally reaches his home in the end and yes becomes that nobody that we so often mention.
His journey home was filled with trials much like Maximus was. Odysseus suffered the wrath of the
gods, cannibals, giants and even had to wrestle Poseidon. Maximus had to fight in the coliseum
against outrageous odds, battling with live tigers nipping at his heels, and ultimately in the end he

Disney World
Throughout the world there are so many beautiful and wonderful places to go and spend time to
explore and to relax. From going to a beach, skiing in the mountains, to luxury resorts, all and many
more would make for a great vacation. Every person may think differently and has different
expectations than others of what the best vacation destination would be. However, there is one
destination that so many has thought very highly of. This vacation spot for many is Disney World.
Disney World has been known for many years now to be a wonderful place to go young or old to have
an exciting time. Capturing so many of the scenes and characters from recent and old Disney movies
as well as adding in the thrilling rides and glamorous restaurants in castles, Disney World has truly
brought many unforgettable memories to life. Because of the unbelievable moments there is a reason it
is called one of the happiest places on earth.
In 1964, Walt Disney began to secretly buy millions of dollar s worth of central Florida (History).
Also known as D Day for Orlando, Walt announced that he planned to build a spectacular theme park.
Micky Mouse was one of the characters that got to escort some of the first visitors into the magic
Kingdom. Numerous people including celebrities took part in the celebrations (History). Disney World
has the incredible ability to turn every vacation into a once in a life time experience (Don). The
attention in detail that Walt put into the park makes it seem almost magical to many. An example of
the details of Disney World would be their rides. Many parks rides can feature a ton of steel, pipes,
and fences (Albert). Disney makes their rides have a good theme along the way and one can hardly see
any sight of backstage stairs up the roller coaster or fences around the ride (Albert). Everywhere
someone would look not only on the rides there will be pleasing to the eye, funny or fits in with the
theme of the land (Albert).
Still, one can never forget the work it takes everyday to keep Disney World up and going. The Cast

Northanger Abbey Compare And Contrast Essay
Jane Austen has written many passionate novels. Each book is unique in its own way, but two books
are particularly similar. In the book Northanger Abbey the main character, Catherine Morland is a
confident and independent woman. She is curious and has an overactive imagination that can get her
into trouble. I acknowledge, and dreadfully derogatory of a heroine s dignity but if it be as new in

December 7, 1941 the Pearl Harbor attack was a big event in history that led to the US joining World

known as the Axis powers and three days later they also declared war on the United States. Great
Britain, France and Russia were Americas allies. Before the Americans joined the war they were only
committed to sending war supplies on loan to their allies. When the Japanese left the Americans didn t
know it was over, they were expecting another wave to hit. After two years of conflict it soon became
World War II. The surprise attack on Pearl Harbor will always be a big event in history and it will also
be an unforgettable day for many. The Pearl Harbor memorial, known as the USS Arizona Memorial is

Persuasive Essay On Respect
As children we are taught to always show respect to those around us. We are taught to never say no to
an adult, to listen and to use manners to everyone around us. But as we grow older we develop a sense
of rebelliousness, and an urge to question every single moral and value we have learned.
So the burning question arises: Should respect be given to everyone no matter what, or is it something
that needs to be earned? I believe that respect is a given. Like a natural right, it is born with it, and it is
your choice whether you can gain more or lose it. People around the world have been fighting all
around the world for equality. Isn t that the same as respect? We have been fighting for respect this
whole time, so why should we suddenly discriminate every organism on this planet. Everyone has a
side of insecurity and if we keep making people feel ashamed of that, there would be no respect.
Respect is what separates me from you, him from her. But shouldn t everyone get respect no matter
the case? From CEOs to retail workers?
According to The Positivity Solution, an organization dedicated to spread positivity, dignity, and
kindness, Rudeness is often a by product of a lack of respect. Not to sound like Captain Obvious here,
but most people don t choose to be rude and disrespectful to people who they respect, do they? . What
they are trying to convey is that people often don t give everyone the respect they deserve. When we
do not give people respect, we lose respect for ourselves and become rude in other people s eyes. As
we learn to realize that everyone deserves respect, we can see that even the most small things can earn
our attention. If you are consciously deciding to give people respect or not, that is a mistake. Why do
people need your acceptance to be treated equally? They do not. And if you are making a choice based
on shallow judgment, you are destroying the love and kindness that others have shown to you. To be
critical like that is unacceptable and wrong universally.
A person s a person, no matter how small said Dr. Suess, an award winning children s books writer.
Everyone wants to be accepted, some people at all costs. But would we like to see these people
struggle to work there way up and

Ectopic Pregnancy In The United States
Introduction The topic I choose to do was Ectopic pregnancy. In a normal pregnancy, the ovaries
release an egg into the fallopian tube. If the egg meets with a sperm, the fertilized egg moves into the
uterus but in an Ectopic pregnancy the most common place for the egg to stay is in the fallopian tubes.
Ectopic pregnancy was first described and come to awareness in North Americans the 11th century; it
often was a fatal complication of pregnancy. In the 15th century (which is known as the middle ages
era) pregnancy was believed to be the outcome of a person being infertile. The first unreported ectopic
pregnancy was described in the results of an autopsy performed on a female prisoner who was
executed in 1693. Given the fact that technology was not as developed before the 20th century, the
methods used where not smart tactics to help the woman and developing embryo. Some of the main
methods that were used included starvation, cleansing, bleeding, and even treatment with highly toxic
chemicals that where often used to kill tiny animals. The methods listed above would often result in
the death of woman who were diagnosed with a ectopic pregnancy in the early 1600 s to the early
1700 s. I choose this topic because couples who are infertile are now turning to other birthing methods
such as IVF. IVF is one of the causes of ectopic pregnancy.
Case Description

The signs and symptom of an ectopic pregnancy naturally occur six to eight weeks after the last

Project Implementation, Control, and Termination Paper and Presentation
Project management is the application of knowledge, skills and techniques to execute projects
effectively and efficiently (What is project management?). Using project management allows
management to assign tasks to employees whereas they focus on the everyday operations. This paper
will propose a parking garage by showing that there is a need for it, by identifying stakeholders,
determining goals, creating a time line and budget, and developing a plan or a statement of work that
will outline the steps of this project. Team B will also identify the ... Show more content on

Finding the right location is top priority for this project. The garage must not be far away from either
the shopping complex or the casinos. If it is the project may fail because it does not alleviate the
inconvenience of walking for the shoppers. The projected length of time for this project is 12 18
months. This takes the weather into account and gives ample time for any unforeseen problems with
suppliers, contractors, the city, and any permit problems.
Budget
The national average of a five level parking garage is approximately 145,000 square feet (Reed
Construction Data, 2012). The project will require the hiring of an architect and a contractor. The
architect duties will include creating a schematic design and draft floor plans, finalize drawings,
obtain necessary permits and serve as the development manager of the project. The contractor will
provide the services and materials need for the job and is responsible in hiring subcontractors. The
national average for the cost per square foot to build a five level parking garage is between $50 and
$70 (FixR, 2011). On average masons and excavators charge $70 per hour, electricians charge $65 to
$85 per hour and plumbers charge somewhere between $45 and $65 per hour, so this project will take
into consideration all of the hourly rates for all specialties (FixR, 2011). Taking from the national
average costs this project will cost $65 a square foot

Theme Of Nature In To Build A Fire
This is a famous short story by Jack London, which takes on a familiar theme, man vs nature. The
man is traveling by foot with his dog through the Yukon trail, on the way to a camp on Henderson
Creek. This man story is told from the third person omniscient point of view. At no point is the story
told from the dog s perspective. That means that the narrator knows the thoughts, actions, and feelings
of all the characters; in this case, To Build a Fire the narrator s characters are the unnamed man and
the dog who accompanies him. London description of this man and his surrounding gives the readers a
visual image of how the Alaskan wilderness looks like. It was cold freezing and cold. The man s

Although the man is freezing form the cold and getting frostbite, he is still trying to fight the harsh
weather
The Abundance of stupidity and pride are personified in the story s protagonist. For example, he goes
through the extremely cold area alone, despite going for the first time. This presumption results in the
protagonist putting himself in a bad situation that was completely preventable. At first, he thinks
nothing will happen and everything will be okay. By the end of the story, he is dead as a result of his
arrogance. Jack London illustrates the element of arrogance when the main character ignores the
possibility that there may be situations he cannot overcome.
Coming of death is another theme in the story; more specifically the peace that can be found in death.
Jack London foreshadows that the man will die in the story. Foreshadowing meaning that the author is
hinting what will be coming up later on in the story, which keeps the readers attentively reading
because they are curious about what will

Apple iPods Changed the Way we Listen to Music
iPods have positively influenced the way people all over the world listen to and share music in the
blink of an eye. Since Apple introduced the first iPod in 2001, 350 million iPods have been sold as of
September 2012. That s enough iPods for every single person in the United States to have their own
device with twenty million still left over. Those are some pretty staggering numbers, considering more
iPods are sold every second.
The iPod has seven main parts: hard drive, battery, click wheel, display, microprocessor, video chip,
and audio chip. Older models of the iPod (with the click wheel) have a hard drive. On the inside of the
device, the hard drive is made up of platters, spindle motors, heads and head actuators. Platters are
little disks that are covered with a magnetic surface and then placed on a spindle. The disks have a
cobalt alloy substance applied to them which is placed on the platter by electroplating. Digital
information is stored on the disks and information is written on the disks by electromagnetic flux
through read write heads that change the polarization. As the platter rotates, the magnetic fields move
and the read write head senses electrical change between the moving magnetic fields.
The iPod has a small Liquid Crystal Display (more commonly known as an LCD). The molecules in
the liquid crystals in the screen go through multiple changes, one being the nematic phase. The twisted
nematic is manipulated when the electric current is applied to it.

Case Study On GBL
1. As David Ganong, what is your analysis of the situation?
Background The confectionery industry in Canada
The confectionery industry was divided into four major product lines such as sugar confectionery,
chocolates, cocoa based products, and chewing gums. Most Canadian confectionary goods were
produced in Ontario. There were four major multinational chocolate bar companies and Canada was
one of them which means it was quite competitive. I am going to use PESTEL analysis of GBL s
situation.

had protection from confectioneries coming into the country. Some of the product lines had tariffs as

Weakness
 Poor location: GBL is located far way from its major market. It may lead to high transportation
costs and delivered products inefficiency
 Lack of economies of scale: GBL has so many independent lines which is hard to achieve
economies of scale
 Increased fixed cost: the factory was operating at 50 percent of capacity, and none of the individual
product lines was pushing its capacity limits
 Strong player in boxed chocolate but fringe player in other product line such as fruit snacks,
chocolate bars, etc
 Experienced a direct profit loss from the U.S. drive
 GBL was not North American competitive
 GBL was too small due to lack of crucial mass, R D capabilities, financial capability, and

Summary of Balanced Scorecard
Using the Balanced Scorecard as a Strategic Management System
Kaplan, Robert S., Norton, David P.
Harvard Business Review; Jan/Feb1996, Vol. 74 Issue 1, p75 85, 11p, 3 Diagrams
Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton introduced the balanced scorecard, which supplemented
traditional financial measures with criteria that measured performance from the perspectives of
customers, internal business processes, and learning and growth. The scorecard enabled companies to
track financial results while monitoring progress in building the capabilities they would need for
growth.
Traditional management systems rely on financial measures, which bear little relation to progress in
achieving long term strategic objectives. The scorecard introduces ... Show more content on

The assumption that there is a cause and effect relationship between the suggested areas of
measurements is essential because the measurements in non financial areas make the performance
measurement system a feed forward control system, which solves the problem of the historical nature
of accounting data
This paper investigates whether the book entitled The Balanced Scorecard has the features
characteristic of sound argumentation, i.e. whether it uses an appropriate combination of ethos, logo s
and pathos when appealing to its readers; if it does not, it will be further examined which features
characterize the text, which will then allow us to draw conclusions as to the genre of the text and, in
turn, to tell how the BSC is promoted.
All the author s analysis shows that rhetoric is a key management tool. Management constantly
requires new rhetoric. The only problem is that, if the rhetoric is combined with theory that is full of
mistakes, the sources of errors are numerous. In that case, the managers cannot use the theories to
analyses the problems of their companies and they will not have an instrument which actually allows
them to control and direct the company. Instead, more argumentative and empirically valid theories
should be combined with entertaining rhetoric. Researchers who are preoccupied with

The Five Husbands In The Wife Of Bath s Tale
The wife of bath stands up for women equality and does not let men push her around. She had five
husbands, with each of them she used a technique to get what she wanted. She would blame them for
things they did not do, she would make them buy her things and have complete mastery over all of
them. With her fifth husband things become rocky with her having the upper hand in the relationship.
This is shown through the book that her husband reads which in that book degrades women. She snaps
back into this mode of control and stands up for women by tearing the pages out of this book. The

Information systems have helped the air cargo industry remain competitive, provide customers and other with an efficient and easy to use service, and has kept the industry up to date. In 2003, Cargo Patrol Services (CPS) opened for business as the air cargo industry s first full service Internet portal that provided the industry with an electronic booking and shipment management system. Unisys also decided on an object oriented approach to reuse existing modules from its other projects: key technologies such as a weblogic server and a multitier architecture using J2EE. Project structure is medium low. Unisys need to create a system that would work with the various legacy systems and the differing procedures used by airlines. The site had to satisfy the requirements of the three launch carriers and also make it easy for other carriers to adopt after the portal went live. Project size is large. The original broad design had to be broken down into detailed specifications, which took three months and required the three carriers to set aside all of their competitive issues and differences. The ketubah details the obligations of the groom to the bride, which are food, clothing and marital relations. A traditional Jewish wedding ceremony takes place under wedding canopy, symbolizing the new home being built by the couple when they become husband and wife. • 5. Examples Of Reconciliation In Australia The Freedom Ride and Tent Embassy are both extremely significant events and had long lasting impacts on reconciliation and the plight of the indigenous. Reconciliation in Australia is the movement aimed at building unity between Indigenous and non Indigenous Australians. The Tent Embassy was established on the 26th of January 1972, positioned across from what was then Parliament House, in Canberra, where Indigenous activists protested for equality and land rights. For similar reasons, was the Australian Freedom Ride (1965) inspired by the American Civil Rights movements when a group of students from the University of Sydney travelled around Western NSW in a bus also aimed to raise awareness and encourage resistance against discrimination and poor standards of living conditions of Indigenous Australians. • 8. Analysis Of The Poem Judith Of Bethulia ( Brine, Ciletti... INTRODUCTION The poem Judith illustrates the executing of Assyrian general Holofernes by Judith of Bethulia (Brine, Ciletti and Lähnemann 86). The poem looks at Judith as a woman of morals, courage, and religious conviction, and her character is portrayed as virtuous and blameless. Judith returns victorious to her city after killing the mortal enemy, and her people proceed to win the battle against their foes (Brine, Ciletti and Lähnemann 86). Thus, the poet gives an opportunity to witness the efforts of the poet trying to fit a female into a setting of men in the society. The poem majorly focuses on heroism and the main styles are looked at with respect to themes within Judith poem. Judith s beauty is adored and symbolized throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though giving Judith the military role may be a deliberate choice by the poet. The clearest indicator of the poet to portray Judith as a military leader is his use of contrast. The poet depicts Holofernes as the epitome of evil. In contrast, Judith is depicted as pure goodness (Brine, Ciletti and Lähnemann 98). Therefore, the two characters directly oppose each other. The two groups represented by Holofernes and Judith, the Assyrians and Bethulians are also contrasted via a clever use of traditional heroic language. It is natural to see Judith as everything that a commander needs to be. For instance, on the night preceding the battle between the Bethulians and Assyrians, Holofernes calls the senior soldiers of his army to a feast. Certainly, Holofernes does not know that the Bethulians will attack the following day, but a military commander probably would not allow all of his soldiers to be made drunk (Brine, Ciletti and Lähnemann 100). In the same instance, the poet refers to Judith s battle is fought on a bed against an unconscious man and not on the battlefield. Is Judith act is not heroic as Holofernes passes out after drinking too much. She does not kill Holofernes in the heat of battle, but rather in a quite cold blooded fashion. Judith s actions are very personalized and private, in contrast to male heroes. The poet stresses the secretive environment of Holofernes s tent and bed. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Food Of Food Industry Additives in Food People used to appreciate wholesome, nutritious food. These days, the American diet is comprised of primarily processed food. Is health being sacrificed for convenience? What is really in the food that Americans eat? Are all the preservatives and additives hurting consumers more than they are helping? There are definitely benefits to the modern food industry; however, consumers want to be sure that these benefits outweigh the risks associated with this new food technology. Food manufacturers seem to be doing well short term, but consumers do not want to suffer in the long run from all these unnatural additives and processes. These additional chemicals in food may be causing diseases without us realizing it. People spend so much time investigating which TV, car or even house to buy. Certainly, they should spend as much time if not more considering what to fill their shopping carts with at the grocery store. Even though additives help increase food production and food preservation, people should be careful about what they eat and try to avoid unnecessary additives because they are unnatural, unhealthy and compromise the wholesomeness of the food. Literature Review Laliberte (n.d.) presented the benefits and risks associated with additives in food and explained that the new food technology is so popular because it is inexpensive, effective, and convenient. People enjoy the ease of ready made food and the advertising makes it all the more appealing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On the other hand, the woman is depicted as evil, lustful, and furious when rejected. In her essay, Susan Blakeley Klein attributes this extremely negative view of women to one possible function of the setsuwa: a cautionary tale specifically addressed to monks and priests to persuade them to avoid women and exclude them from the realm of the spiritual . The Dôjôji Engi Emaki The Dōjōji Engi Emaki is an illustrated narrative scroll which was made in the Muromachi period based on the earlier versions of the Dôjôji story. It is now a national treasure in the possession of Dôjôji temple, Wakayama. This kind of illustrated scroll was often used in a medieval performance art called etoki 絵解き, in which a performer displays the scroll to his/her audience while explaining the illustrations and narrating the story. Even today, you can still enjoy a live performance given by monks in the Dôjôji temple, though the scroll they use is a variant of the Engi Emaki produced early in the twentieth century. Although being based on the earlier setsuwa versions of the Dôjôji story, the Dôjôji Engi Emaki is more like an independent work. It consists of four major parts: illustrations that depict the story; Monogatari, the opening part that designates the time, places, actors and backgrounds; serifu, the lines of speech uttered by the characters themselves; etoki lines, the narrations given by the explainer. (Beijing Declaration of Indigenous Women, 23), they always emphasize the word government , which accurately locks their audience with the group related to official departments, say government, international organizations, the United Nations, and so on. They to some extent ignore the public, the teenagers, the elders, the people outside the indigenous group and have mere interest in acknowledging this issue solely to the government. They are not intending to persuade everybody, only calling the government to take actions to satisfy indigenous peoples demands. Secondly, because of the special audience they have, their language style is also distinctive. The announcer informed that, the most famous style of music in Paraguay is Guarania, created by the Paraguayan musician José Asunción Flores in 1926. The Guarania accomplishes this by using a combination of slow rhythms and melodies of melancholia character. The dancers were wearing traditional full pleated skirts decorated with lace, their blouses were worn off the shoulder and the sleeves were made of lace. The body of their blouses were embroidered in red, white and blue which are the colors of the Paraguayan flag, I also noticed that their hair was worn up and their jewelry was of silver and coral color. Public Key Infrastructure Public key infrastructure, known as PKI supports the distribution and identification of public encryption keys which allows users and computers to securely exchange data over the internet and networks to confirm the identity of the other party. Without PKI, sensitive information can still be encrypted and exchanged, but there would be no assurance of the identity of the other party. Any form of sensitive data exchanged over the Internet is reliant on PKI for security. A standard PKI consists of several components: hardware, software, policies and standards, administration, distribution of keys and digital certificates. Digital certificates are at the heart of PKI as they confirm the identity of the certificate subject and bind that identity to the public key contained in the certificate. • 16. Mr. Harvey Thought A Lot Essay Mr. Harvey thought a lot. To say the least, time had been his only friend for years. Mr. Harvey was the type of man to think all kinds of kooky and abstract things. He liked to think of how there had only ever been one yellow paddle boat for hire amongst the numerous blue down at the rivers dock. He thought of how on cheery spring days the children would beg their parents to leave a few minutes earlier to snatch it up before the other kids did. He used to watch them for hours, the amusement on their faces riding along the steady waters laughing at the other children because they got stuck in the boring blue paddle boats. Time was funny like that he thought. Getting to the docks those couple moments earlier than the other children, granted hours of joy because their yellow boat happened to bet better than all the blues. He also thought them absurd, to Mr. Harvey colours were just colours, not measures of happiness. But he knew the youths naivety was all that made them young. He thought about Delilah s Deli which sat directly below his scungy old flat back in 1945. He used to pick up one punnet of sun dried tomatoes, a 250g block of cheese and a small jar of pitted black olives every Sunday morning at exactly 9:05, purely because that was when their stock was fresh and was guaranteed to last the week. He remembered the betrayal he d felt when a little sign saying Closed For Good swung like a newton s cradle on the door where the open sign used to hang. Mr. Harvey thought ... • 17. Essay about Maximus and Odysseus Maximus and Odysseus While watching the film Gladiator with my girlfriend I realized the striking similarities that heroes share. However, I always wonder who is more of a hero. The definition or hero is a person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life. So let us compare the two heroes as the dictionary defines them. In the end I hope to be able to define who is a greater hero. Maximus was a great warrior in the Roman legion under Emperor Marcus Aurelius. His first courageous feat occurs when he defeats the last of the Barbarians of Germaina. Leading his army along a 12 year campaign he brought it to an end. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although they are opposite ends of the spectrum, they both must go from one extreme to the other to get to the end of their story. Starting with Odysseus courageous efforts he first defeats the Trojans at the battle of Troy with the wooden horse. Much like Maximus his story begins with him winning a great war that has gone on for years. Odysseus must use his intellect more so than his brute strength, such as when he escapes the Cyclops. Unlike Maximus Odysseus makes the mistake right off the bat of revealing his name to the Cyclops when he is leaving, thus he cannot return home yet because he hasn t become a nobody yet. The reoccurring theme between the two that I see is that the must reach a certain state before the end of their story can take place. Odysseus has to become a plain man not a war hero, and Maximus must win the crowd over and they need to know who is so he cannot be slain in the dungeons. In his last great show of strength Odysseus strings a bow and kills the suitors that were trying to steal his wife from him while he was gone. Odysseus finally reaches his home in the end and yes becomes that nobody that we so often mention. His journey home was filled with trials much like Maximus was. Odysseus suffered the wrath of the gods, cannibals, giants and even had to wrestle Poseidon. Maximus had to fight in the coliseum against outrageous odds, battling with live tigers nipping at his heels, and ultimately in the end he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Disney World has the incredible ability to turn every vacation into a once in a life time experience (Don). The attention in detail that Walt put into the park makes it seem almost magical to many. An example of the details of Disney World would be their rides. Many parks rides can feature a ton of steel, pipes, and fences (Albert). Disney makes their rides have a good theme along the way and one can hardly see any sight of backstage stairs up the roller coaster or fences around the ride (Albert). Everywhere someone would look not only on the rides there will be pleasing to the eye, funny or fits in with the theme of the land (Albert). But as we grow older we develop a sense of rebelliousness, and an urge to question every single moral and value we have learned. So the burning question arises: Should respect be given to everyone no matter what, or is it something that needs to be earned? I believe that respect is a given. Like a natural right, it is born with it, and it is your choice whether you can gain more or lose it. People around the world have been fighting all around the world for equality. Isn t that the same as respect? We have been fighting for respect this whole time, so why should we suddenly discriminate every organism on this planet. Everyone has a side of insecurity and if we keep making people feel ashamed of that, there would be no respect. Respect is what separates me from you, him from her. But shouldn t everyone get respect no matter the case? From CEOs to retail workers? According to The Positivity Solution, an organization dedicated to spread positivity, dignity, and kindness, Rudeness is often a by product of a lack of respect. Not to sound like Captain Obvious here, but most people don t choose to be rude and disrespectful to people who they respect, do they? . What they are trying to convey is that people often don t give everyone the respect they deserve. When we do not give people respect, we lose respect for ourselves and become rude in other people s eyes. As we learn to realize that everyone deserves respect, we can see that even the most small things can earn our attention. If you are consciously deciding to give people respect or not, that is a mistake. Why do people need your acceptance to be treated equally? They do not. And if you are making a choice based on shallow judgment, you are destroying the love and kindness that others have shown to you. To be critical like that is unacceptable and wrong universally. If the egg meets with a sperm, the fertilized egg moves into the uterus but in an Ectopic pregnancy the most common place for the egg to stay is in the fallopian tubes. Ectopic pregnancy was first described and come to awareness in North Americans the 11th century; it often was a fatal complication of pregnancy. In the 15th century (which is known as the middle ages era) pregnancy was believed to be the outcome of a person being infertile. The first unreported ectopic pregnancy was described in the results of an autopsy performed on a female prisoner who was executed in 1693. Given the fact that technology was not as developed before the 20th century, the methods used where not smart tactics to help the woman and developing embryo. Some of the main methods that were used included starvation, cleansing, bleeding, and even treatment with highly toxic chemicals that where often used to kill tiny animals. The methods listed above would often result in the death of woman who were diagnosed with a ectopic pregnancy in the early 1600 s to the early 1700 s. The iPod has seven main parts: hard drive, battery, click wheel, display, microprocessor, video chip, and audio chip. Older models of the iPod (with the click wheel) have a hard drive. On the inside of the device, the hard drive is made up of platters, spindle motors, heads and head actuators. Platters are little disks that are covered with a magnetic surface and then placed on a spindle. The disks have a cobalt alloy substance applied to them which is placed on the platter by electroplating. Digital information is stored on the disks and information is written on the disks by electromagnetic flux through read write heads that change the polarization. As the platter rotates, the magnetic fields move and the read write head senses electrical change between the moving magnetic fields.
