The Haitian revolution was series of continuous revolts against a French monarchy that condoned
and encouraged slavery. Most think that the Haitians in 1791 had enough torment from the French

and Operation New Dawn (OND) conflicts that are afflicted with posttraumatic stress disorder is
estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands (Kip, et al., 2013, p. 1298), demonstrating the
importance of the social worker to be knowledgeable of the symptoms and treatment of this
disabling trauma. The purpose of this literature review is to address the issue of posttraumatic stress
disorder(PTSD), address the symptoms linked to PTSD, and the methods used in the assessment of
posttraumatic stress disorder with emphasis on military combat related PTSD. In addition, the
literature review will identify the interventions by social work, if any, when addressing PTSD and
the role social workers may play when assisting those with combat related posttraumatic stress

My Observation At The Child Development Center
Cady At the beginning of my third observation at the Child Development Center, I decided to
observe a three year old girl that I will call Cady. I chose her because of her irrepressible attitude,

not only did I gain developmental information about Cady, I gained some background
information as well. She is the youngest child in the CDC, having only turned three during the
last semester. Not only is she the youngest child at the CDC, she is the youngest of five children

In todays society suicide is the leading cause of death in young people. They have also found a
strong connection between bullying and suicide. There are four main types of bullying: Physical,
verbal, indirect, and cyber bullying. Seventy seven percent of students said they have experienced
being bullied. Fourteen percent of those students also said they experienced severe response to the
abuse. More than half of the bullying that happens today goes unreported. Physical bullying isn t

her school. Classmates were said to be jealous that she had started dating a boy on the school

To move forward in life, our main focus should be conquering our fears and achieving our goals.

Frederick Cook, a man who had accompanied Peary on one of his earlier expeditions, was

The four techniques that I used to help manage my stress were art therapy, time management
/scheduling, social support and doing a hobby to take my mind off of stressors. I was hesitant to
practice these techniques because I feel like I am able to manage my stress well anyways, but as I
started consciously using these techniques, I realized that my mindwas a lot clearer and I did not
feel as overwhelmed. I was already doing these techniques on a smaller scale, but when I decided
to go all out and focus on using them, I realized that I was not that good at managing my stress, I
was just used to having this stress in my life.

Before this semester, I thought I was pretty good at managing stress but these techniques showed
me that I was not as good as I thought I was. For the first couple of weeks I did not use any of the
techniques because I thought that it was pointless and that I did not need them. I eventually

I observed five different leadership styles in this movie, and I felt that each of them were effective
because of the timing of the leadership style used based on the situation at hand. Authoritative

Lastly, democratic leadership styles were portrayed by both not only by both coaches, but also
between the players. When the coaches and some of the players bought into and believed in
what Coach Boone was trying to accomplish, they were able to instill a sense of ownership in the

against each other instead of working together; that type of scenario would have hindered any
