This extended essay will talk about taco bell and answer the research question To what extent can
branding help Taco Bell increase its sales in the near future? Taco bell after taking a hit on its
reputation in 2011 due to the beef lawsuit1 managed to recover and become the second most profitable
brand2 in the United States. Just like other subsidiaries under YUM!, Taco Bell expanded into the

food court which increase the competition for Taco Bell especially by McDonalds and Burger King.
When Taco Bell entered the Indian market, all the crowd in the mall used to line up outside Taco Bell,
Oberoi Mall until Burger King opened up right next to it. If Taco Bell want to increase its sales they
should consider relocating its store to an area with high youth population, for example; around school
or colleges. This will allow them to reach out their targeted customers easily and will further increase
sales. Taco Bell had aimed to expand further into the Indian market by opening more outlets around
the nation, this would definitely allow them to increase sales but Taco Bell will have to ensure they
know their market well. The outlet will not perform if the location is in an area where there is not

The Pros And Cons Of North Stradbroke Island
North Stradbroke Island (NSI), also known as Minjerribah to its indigenous people, the Quandamooka
people, is the second largest island in the world, covering an area of 275.2 km2. The island has a wide
range of ecosystems including open beaches, frontal dunes, rocky headlands, mangroves, and tidal
swamps (Stradbrokeisland.com, 2018). On the island, the sand mining company, Sibelco, are to close
their operation on NSI in 1919. This decision has been made through the exploration of advantages
and disadvantages of undertaking sand mining on NSI, as well as alternative sources of economic
income and planning replacement employment. When making the decision to close Sibelco s sand
mining on the island, it was important to remain mindful to the natives of the island and their ideals,
traditions and sacred land. In considering all of these factors, it is most ideal for Sibelco s sand mining
operations on NSI to close. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Old Testament Historical Report
To begin for the past one hundred and fifty years archaeologists and historians have found very little
evidence that the Israelites violently conquered the cities and nation of Canaan as depicted in the Old
Testament. Other than what is written in the Old Testament, no other actual evidence exists that
describes the invasion of Canaan by the Israelites in 1406BC. However, archaeological evidence and
historical records does acknowledge that as a result of the collapse of the Bronze Age from 1200 to
1150BC, there was a rapid decay of most of the major cities such as Jericho, Jerusalem, Al, Hazor,
Bethel and Heshbon.

King Tutankhamun Essay
Sand. I look out, North, East, South, West, and all I see is sand. In everything, on everything, and
everywhere. Nevertheless, I will take the sand over a stuffy plane any day. Sixteen hours on a plane
from St. Louis to Cairo will make even the most unbearable things bearable, even sand. I m going to
have to get over it though. I m here for the reopening and a little sand is not going to get in my way of
seeing the tomb opened once more. King Tutankhamun s tomb has been closed for five years due to
some structural problems. I was planning a trip to see it, but thanks to my archaeologist friend Sam, I

John Yossarian Quotes
John Yossarian
Yossarian at first appears to be a paranoid and weak character. He believes that everyone is trying to
kill him, and pretends to be sick in the hospital to avoid combat. His main goal throughout the war is
to survive, and to escape the military.
They re trying to kill me (9).
Yossarian learns that Orr is alive and decides to run away to Sweden to escape the war.
Through Yossarian s character, Heller satirizes the fact that not everybody involved in war is a hero.
Although Yossarian contributes to the war effort and does his share, deep inside he is truly traumatized
by the war and cannot bring himself to be brave. Unlike the others who put themselves on the line in
battle, Yossarian s paranoia causes him to hide in hospitals, pretending to suffer from sickness.

Korn continues to manipulate and control Cathcart, but he does not want to go to a higher rank
because he wants Cathcart to be his scapegoat for any wrong decisions.
Heller criticizes the power struggles that occur within the military. Korn, Cathcart s inferior, manages
to take control of Cathcart s job without anybody noticing, and he does not admit to it because he is
afraid of being blamed for anything wrong.
Clevinger
Clevinger is an optimistic character, which causes Yossarian to dislike him due to their opposite
personalities. Yossarian believes him to be crazy because he does not believe that everyone is out to
kill him, while Clevinger believes that Yossarian isolates himself from others too much.
As far back as Yossarian could recall, he explained to Clevinger with a patient smile, somebody was
always hatching a plot to kill him (12).
Clevinger disappears after his plane flies into a cloud.
Hellinger satirizes those who find positivity in time of war. Clevinger, ironically, kept a positive
mindset throughout, but he ultimately disappears, his future unknown.

Information from chapter one comprised of a summary of my assignments reports from the various
ministries served and class discussions post. Moving forward to chapter two talks more of the vast
amount of lessons learned through the five goals and the effectiveness of actual hands on application:
the practice of communication, pastoral spiritual care, the practice of leadership, engaging diversity,
and handling conflict. There were target events in each goal setting subject. For example, in
communication, my target events were in small groups, classes, writings of creative activities
curriculum, and counseling. In this process, my practice skills supported an audience of women, youth
both boys and girls, and children. The area of pastoral spiritual care involved Bible studies, home
visits, hospital and nursing homes visits, grieving family visits, and prison ministry visits with the
Children of Inmates Program. The practice of leadership comprises of attending events, training, and
assisting in various ministries in need. Engaging diversity involved observing other ministry leaders
engaging in a large church congregation, speaking at women s breakfast or functions, speaking at
funeral services, and assisting in the planning of funeral with family members. Handling conflict dealt
with counseling of premarital sessions, marriage counseling sessions, counseling child abuse sessions,
counseling drug addiction session, counseling depression with childhood sexual abuse sessions and
assisting with crisis individuals seeking assistance through the resources at our church Peacemakers
office. Consequently, chapter three describes the most life changing events causing major setbacks in
this journey of my calling and the solutions involved. Chapter four detailed some specifics on the

Psych Network Research Paper
Back in 2011, there was a major online attack that involved the Sony PlayStation online gaming
service, PS Network and the compromise of 77 million users personal information. This was one of
the largest corporation attacks within the last 10 years involving so many accounts. The attack took
place between April 17th and 19th when an illegal and unauthorized person gained access to the
personal account server and stole the information. What made this attack so much more important than
just the amount was what was stolen during the attack. It did not just usernames and gamer tags, but
the actual account owner s name, address, email, birthday, password, login and security questions.
With this information, the attacker was able to gain access ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first theory is that the hacker group Anonymous became aware of a vulnerability inside of the
PlayStation network and informed other hacking groups of this information. Then those said groups
decided to take advantage of use an SQL injection attack to gain this information. A SQL injection
attack involves the use of SQL statements written on the database layer of an application and is then
run by the system to perform whatever statement was written there. This attack happened to be a form
of SQL code that would take the information on the database and release it to the hacker. The other
theory of how this occurred lies inside of a PlayStation 3 firmware build called Rebug , which turns
the console into a developer kit used by game designers. With this feature active, it allows users to
access parts of the PS3 s infrastructure that would not be normally available to the everyday consumer.
What also came with this firmware update was the ability to access Sony s internal developer network.
Additionally from there, hackers gained access to the internal secure network and could perform all
kinds of hacks to trick the system. Sony may have not taken into consideration that their secure
network could become a vulnerability to their servers. The other presented issue that came with this
attack was that Sony never encrypted the data on their servers in the first place. Which means when

The Three Major Correctional Reformers
Of the three major correctional reformers, I believe that Cesare Beccaria accomplished the most for
corrections. Cesare Beccaria emphasized that the use of punishment for crimes was used solely for the
purpose of protecting society and preventing crime. This is extremely important, because in the past,
individuals were using punishment as a means of revenge, but Cesare changed this idea. Cesare s
ideas eventually led to creation of classical criminology, and this alone helped to pave the road to
ending unjustifiable punishments and inhumane treatment.
Classical criminology contained six principles, and all of these principles emphasized the importance
of using punishment to promote deterrence and prevention. Within these principles Cesare explains
that prevention is more important than anything. This idea led to major reforms, including getting
secret accusations and torturing of individuals abolished. That was not all, however, Cesare saw that
the accused were not being given the benefit of the doubt, hence the torturing of individuals to get
confessions that may or may not be true. He decided that the accused should have the right to a speedy
trial, also humane treatment before the trial, and finally, the right to bring forward any evidence they
may have on their behalf. This ultimately gave the accused a voice that they never had. Today, we see
the idea of a speedy trial within our Constitution, along with other laws promoting fairness for those
who have been accused.

through Reed Hastings while he got fined $40 outstanding balance after returning Apollo 13 which

Since Netflix was an online movie Rental Company, it introduced its subscription services to
customers in 1999 which allowed access to unlimited DVD rentals with low payments. The
subscription package consisted of the mailing cost of the DVD, which would be streaming on any
device that was compatible with Netflix software. In the beginning, all cost was provided by Netflix.
But by the time the postage cost got higher, it heavily affected Netflix revenue. Later on, the CEO of
Netflix Reed Hastings implemented a new business strategy with a new website. The customers
needed to pay differently for streaming, rentals or together. DVD rental would be followed by
Quikster and was offered by new website. These changes affected the customers adversely. Therefore
millions of customer canceled their subscription. Afterwards, CEO Reed Hastings canceled the new
strategy and kept the same options as it was before but with higher price. After this, a lot more
customers got back to Netflix and realized that the higher price is well intentioned. At this point, the
CEO Reed Hastings was unable to recognize the changes that made millions of customers cancel their
subscription as well as depositors. Video on demand is going to be more of an issue because it allows
the audience to see movie clip just per click. This is totally against the Netflix

Eat Move Sleep
It s difficult to know when to set boundaries around your health at work because the decline is so
gradual. Allowing stress to build up, losing sleep, and sitting all day without exercising at all add up.
These words, written by Travis Bradberry, remind us that several things can affect our health,
including sitting too much. The truth is, sitting all day is damaging to the body and mind. In today s
world, many jobs are highly sedentary and do not require workers to move around much. Although
sitting is the most common way to work in an office, there are many serious health risks to sitting all
day and there are desks and equipment that can help reduce the amount of sedentary time at work.

Participants in one study felt sore during the first several weeks using the sit stand desk (Dutta,
Walton, and Pereira, 2015). Sore muscles mean loss of productivity, which is a risk each company
makes when purchasing the desks (Karol and Robertson, 2015). Workers take time to transition
between their normal way of working and the new, active way. The work station design must allow the
worker to reach all the tools he or she needs (Corlett, 2009). This means a corded phone or computer
may not reach the height of the standing desk. True, there are ways to fix that problem, but companies
do not want to create more problems trying to fix one problem. Workers also have less work space
available with this type of desk and because they are taller, workers lose their privacy (Dutta, Walton,
and Pereira, 2015). Although there are some concerns about the desks, participants in a study said, the
benefits outweigh the drawbacks associated with space limitations (Dutta, Walton, and Pereira, 2015,

John Hubner s Last Chance
John Hubner s Last Chance in Texas focuses on the boys and girls who go to Giddings State School to
establish that they aren t just criminals. The story doesn t just focus on the students lives, but students
who are trying to reform by transitioning from an unstable environment to a stable one. Giddings State
School has two sections based on gender roles that demonstrate the students properly transitioning
into a citizen. In the first section of the book, boys are not supposed to express their feelings because
its culture is frowned upon, so it takes longer for boys to relive and move forward in their recovery. In
the second part of the book, it s shorter because girls are socially acceptable so it takes less time to
display emotions. In the beginning of chapter 9, it starts out with the Parents of Murdered Children go

book also demonstrates how the Nesbits to the facility to speak to the girls about Katy which led the

My Writing-Year Writing, Reading, And Writing
Written word and reading came to me in the way oil is introduced to a cup of water, a sudden
disagreement. I have never Liked reading or writing, but in 6th grade I began to truly despise it. I was
always a math and science person ,but I knew could write a well versed and attention grabbing story
and essay. My downfall however, was that I could never write them the right way. Being that I always
have went through school each year writing wrong. The description of my 6th grade year is what
conjured up my decision to change that. This is the year I buckled down, and I told myself that this
will be the year I become a better reader as well as a better writer. My 6th grade year began at Fulton

this year will be a breeze , but little did I know the hills and valleys that were destined for me to rise
,but also fall. My Teacher s name was Ms.Hicks, she was a nice lady but she was all about business.
She loved to read, no matter what genre. The expectation from the beginning of the year was made
clear that we will be reading stories and writing about them all year and that we will master writing
about the novels we havve read.. The year went by day by day till I was assigned my first paper. Of
course I can write, but I could never write in the right context or format. I began writing the

Descriptive Essay About South Boston
10. South Boston
Known as one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, South Boston is placed on a peninsula that
extends into the Boston Harbor. It is linked to the rest of the city through a narrow strip of land. Over
the years, this strip of land has been gradually widened through landfill.
For over a century, South Boston has been one of the most populated neighborhoods in the city. In the
mid 1800s, it was the third most populous section of Boston. Over the year, new residential
subdivisions have developed in the neighborhood. Each new subdivision has a unique character and
architectural style. Telegraph Hill and Dorchester Heights were both created in the middle of the 19th
century to house the city s growing population base.
Originally annexed by Boston in 1804, this neighborhood really started to thrive in the mid 19th
century when the Old Colony Railroad made reaching downtown Boston easy. Before long, it was a
center of industry with shipyards, iron foundries and machine shops popping up everywhere. Today,
industrial buildings can still be found on the northern side of the peninsula.
Modern South Boston has many long time residents as well as young professionals. With its easy
access to downtown, this area is popular among commuters. It boasts of a thriving nightlife scene and
open spaces. Miles of waterfront parks and beaches can be found at areas like L Street Beach, Carson
Beach, the Strandway and Pleasure Bay.

The Origin Of English Language Codification
The linguistic term codification refers to the process of standardizing and developing a norm of a
language (Revolvy, 2017). In addition, it means the methods of creation and use of the dictionary
through designing writing system and setting grammar rules. According to Einar Haugen codification
leads to minimal variation in form (Stein Tieken Boon van Ostade, n.d. 1994: p160), therefore it
reinforces a certain variety which has been selected and accepted. Even though codification is the
second stage in the standardization, it is ongoing process.
The origin of English language codification was back to the 16th century, when many of dictionaries
and grammar books had published with a view of teaching the language to Welsh noblemen after the
Act of Union between Wales and England in 1536. These dictionaries contained a list of hard words,
mostly loanwords which adopted and borrowed from other languages, or sometimes invented. Robert
Cawdery produced the first English dictionary in (1604). It lists about 3000 words, with a brief simple
description for each. He aimed to codify a language, to let readers understand hard words. (Bl.uk,
2017)
By the 18th century, scholars developed codification, due to considering it as a recognized activity.
For that authors and scholars such as John Walker and Thomas Sheridan started to write materials so
as to set down perspective norms for pronunciation and grammar. Unlike European countries which
established academies for codification,

Essay on Power Structures of Men and Women in Sports
Power Structures of Men and Women in Sports
As an athlete or a spectator, it is easy to both feel and see the impact sports have on people of both
genders. Athletes are able to experience sports personally, while spectators usually experience sports
through different channels of mass media. Realizing the effects that the world of athletics has on
individuals and society as a whole is vital to the understanding of how sports can positively and
negatively effect athletes as well as spectators.
To deepen our understanding of the cultural values embedded in sports and to explore current values
and power structures regarding men and women, it is necessary to investigate the effect that the media
may possibly have in influencing beliefs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If men do not maintain this expected image, and choose to participate in sports that have been
dominated mostly by women, their sexuality is questioned. Comments like, Wow, what a Fag, are
often directed toward male figure skaters when viewed by spectators. This is very unfair and hurtful to
the victims of this false perception.
Aside from males participating in figure skating, women boxers are generally viewed by others as
manly. This is one of the most offensive terms a person can call a female boxer. The word degrades
femininity, especially when referring to a woman who chooses to be active in a sport that is non
tradition to her gender and has nothing at all to do with her femininity. In the film Girl Fight the main
character, Diana, chooses to train to become a boxer. It is apparent that Diana is not a lesbian because
she has a boyfriend, so her sexuality is not the issue in this film. However, because she is a female in a
male dominated sport, Diana does not generate the support of many people when she proposes her
idea about boxing. Boxing is considered inappropriate for her because she is a female. The trainer tells
her that he cannot work with her, but Diana does not allow this to stop her. The time, devotion, heart,
and desire she gives are all key elements in her efforts to becoming a successful boxer.
Both men and women undergo social costs when participating in a sport that is

Diesel Engines And Vehicle Performance Metrics Essay
In the automotive world, efficiency and power are two elements of vehicle performance metrics that
while important to many consumers and critics alike, appear to be elusive when in convolution with
one another. In automotive history, good fuel efficiency equaled compromises in power and
performance and vehicles with large displacements and torque usually had worse gas mileage. The
exception to this rule were diesel engines, which managed to combine better efficiency than many four
cylinder gas engines while providing very high torque number for better performance. The main
drawback that diesel s faced was due to their stigma of being dirty, as they emitted more greenhouse
gases including nitrous and sulfur oxides. Coupled with the stricter emissions that many states began
to implement, primarily overseen by the EPA, it became harder for car manufactures to certify diesel
engines for emissions while maintaining high fuel economy and power output figures. The emission
control hardware and software in diesel vehicles also came at a high price and with increased
complexity, both unwelcoming additions for any car company wanting to mainstream diesel s.
Volkswagen Automotive Group (VAG) pledged to change these preconceived notions concerning
power and efficiency with the debut of the clean diesel technology in 2008 within select models.
These vehicles had miraculously managed to decrease emissions out of vehicles with diesel motors
while not compromising on the power and

Mechanical Ventilation
Running head: ACCOUNTABILITY OF NURSING PROFESSIONALS: WEANING
Accountability of Nursing Professionals: Weaning from Mechanical Ventilation
Samantha Madrid
Grand Canyon University
Abstract
This paper will discuss the weaning of patients off of a mechanical ventilator. It will look at the
problems associated with prolonged intubation vs. premature extubation, and what healthcare
professionals can do to assess a patients readiness to begin the weaning process. A patient care
scenario will be given and an explanation of how nursing practice can evolve with the knowledge
from this study will be shown. The accountability of the nursing professional in regards to mechanical
ventilation will be visited as well.
Accountability of Nursing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nurse should assume responsibility and accountability for their patient s health. This requires the
nurse to research ways to assist a patient off ventilation, collaborate with physicians, and be aware of
the patient s condition and readiness to wean.
For some investigators, weaning success is defined as sustained spontaneous, unassisted breathing
with or without an artificial airway, and for others it is defined as sustained extubation (Cook 2000).
Whatever the nurse and physician see as the definition to weaning is far less important than ensuring
their patient is weaned at the correct time. Allowing a patient to remain intubated and on mechanical
ventilation when it is no longer needed, only puts the patient at risk for problems beyond the reason
for initial intubation.
Nurses should frequently monitor signs of a patient that is able to take spontaneous breaths. Assessing
levels of anxiety and diaphoresis along with frequent monitoring of vital signs can signal to the nurse
that the patient may no longer need the amount of assistance he is currently receiving. The nurse may
begin to wean the patient by decreasing the amount in mechanical support, in a slow and gradual
manner.
The study shows the decrease in mechanical support can be effected by increasing periods of
unassisted breathing, alternating unassisted breaths with mechanical breaths, and reduction of the
support delivered

Differences Between Hitler And Stalin
The Hitler Stalin Pact of 1939 shocked the world, but no one knew what Hitler really desired from the
Soviets until he commenced Operation Barbarossa in June, 1941. The War in the East began with
much confusion on the Soviet side, but in the end, they prevailed and the Germans were unable to
achieve Lebensraum. Upon examination, the different levels of planning and strategies employed by
both leaders guaranteed a Soviet victory, as Hitler overestimated his own forces, while Stalin focused
on effective methods. The downfall of the Nazis in the War in the East can be attributed to their poor
planning and underestimations of the Soviets. The sheer difference in manpower alone was staggering;
while the Nazis mobilized around 18 million soldiers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was common knowledge that the Soviet Union was behind the other powers in terms of
industrialization, and to prepare for a war that was inevitable, Stalin attempted to solve this by
implementing a war economy as early as 1931, which meant that the Soviets were fully prepared for
World War II when it began. Once the Nazis invaded, however, they were taken completely by
surprise, and this led to Stalin utilizing different strategies with his own citizens. After a patriotic
message from foreign minister, Vyacheslav Molotov , Stalin himself gave a few speeches that
resonated with the people, by calling them to work together to defend against the Fascists as brothers
and sisters . After the first few months of constant defeat, however, Stalin decided to take more
desperate measures with Orders 227 and 270. Order 270 from August, 1941 stated that any Red Army
soldiers who surrendered to the Nazis would be severely punished. Soldiers were to fight to their
deaths, and anything they did otherwise was unacceptable. Stalin even proved to be a man of his word
as he disowned his own son for being a prisoner of war. Order 227 of July, 1942 eliminated the option
of retreating in battle, as it only encouraged their enemies to push further into Soviet territory . These
decisions were extremely controversial, but no one can argue their

Fukushima Nuclear Meltdown Essay
The 2011 Fukushima nuclear meltdown was sparked by a massive tsunami off the coast of Japan
caused by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake. It decimated the nuclear reactor and sent hazardous nuclear
waste spewing out into the Pacific ocean. Japanese fish have tested positive for dangerous levels of
radiation and now, it seems, fish as far away as the US have been infected by the waste. Alaskan
Salmon is imported for sale in most major UK supermarkets when Scottish salmon is out of season.
After being caught in the Pacific, these fish then make a 22,000 mile journey via China to supermarket

Sense Of Sesponsibility And Sense And Sensibility
The most relatable novel to Austen s Pride and Prejudice is her earlier novel Sense and Sensibility
written in 1811. The largest comparisons that can be made are the function of screens that shelter, the
distinction of being sensible and having sensibility, as well as the necessity of wealth to determine
character.
According to Sally Palmer, Austen is using fire screens as a symbol for characters who are trying to
shield potentially heated emotional outburst or the intense heat of social discourse that would ruin
evanescent happiness. The two characters that symbolize this would be Mr. Darcy and Elinor
Dashwood of Sense and Sensibility. Darcy wants to protect all he cares about including Mr. Bingley,
his innocent sister Georgiana, and later ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author Inger Sigrun Brodey, a reputable JASNA s North American Scholar who is a frequent
speaker at Jane Austen Society meetings, writes in the article Making sense of sensibility. from
Persuasions: The Jane Austen Journal that Marianne Dashwood symbolizes sensibility and her sister
Elinor represents common sense. Marianne shares many similarities with Lydia Bennet, the youngest
daughter in Pride and Prejudice. Both believe their world is naturally good without corruption such as
greed and lust to mar it. Both have foibles that strangers generally are naturally good. However, in
actuality there are very good actors that manipulate the vulnerable. Humans have a way of being
imminently selfish and Austen is depicting it with the characters such as the dastardly Mr. Wickham of
Pride and Prejudice and thoughtless Mr. Willoughby of Sense and Sensibility. Both men affect their
counterparts in a negative way and take advantage of the situation. This creates a bias of distrustful
feelings, that sympathy may be able to heal, but society might think is self absorption. Nonetheless,
pity is created for the poor creatures. In fact, it is sensibility or empathy that is necessary to have a
deeper connection like love or hate, and it is fear of rejection that may be the culprit of a hesitancy to
love. This relates to the larger picture of the transition between the Enlightenment and Romanticism,
sense contrasts sensibility because sense has logic and sensibility is fueled by emotional reactions

Saving The Israelites Research Paper
Saving the Israelites
In the Book of Genesis, Joseph is utilized by God to save the Israelites which started due Joseph s
boasting habits. His story begins with his ten brothers and himself working for his father. Joseph had
tendencies to share his dreams in which he was presented as higher than his brothers. As a result,
Joseph s angry brothers planned to kill him, but ends up in slavery due to his brother Rueben trying to
save him. Therefore, God uses Joseph s hardships to allow the Israelites to end up in Egypt.
Shortly after presenting Jacob and his family s background, the Book of Genesis shares a few of
Joseph s dreams and his brothers disliked him even more. As Kruschwitz says, The brothers reportedly

gives him the success he needs to be promoted by Potiphar, from a Hebrew slave to being in charge of
Potiphar s property. Unfortunately, Potiphar s wife false rape accusation resulted in Potiphar s officials
imprisoning innocent Joseph. Although even during imprisonment, Joseph remains hopeful in God to
save him and attempts to tell the cupbearer to help him get released after he interperts his dream.
Fortunately, Potiphar has a dream that no one can interpret but Joseph, after the cupbearer remembers
him. Joseph explains to Pharaoh the famine that God proclaims will happen in seven years. Again,
God gives Joseph the ability to portray great leadership skills when Potiphar promotes him to second
in command. So, both men prepare for the famine and sell goods to people all over. During the
famine, Jacob sends Joseph s ten older brothers to Egypt to buy grain. Joseph reunites with his
brothers, though hostile, allows them to bring Israelites to Egypt. Although Joseph was confrontational
towards his brothers, it was more of a lesson rather than a revenge plot. To demonstrate, Joseph states,

According to Department of Health (2012) one of the major issues that need immediate attention is
obesity. As of today approximately more than 1 billion people are overweight and 300 million people
are obese worldwide, this was estimated by WHO (2013) Statistics by the Department of Health
(2013) showed that a total of 23% of adults are obese (with a body mass index BMI of over 30);
61.3% are either overweight or obese (with a BMI of over 25). For children, 23.1% of 4 5 year olds
are overweight or obese, and 33.3% of 10 11 year olds. There is strong evidence by the Department of
Health suggesting that health checks have shown that people with learning disabilities had a higher
rate of obesity of about 35% of the general population. Naidoo (2008) stated that WHO defines
obesity as a condition of abnormal or excessive fat accumulating in the tissues to the extent that health
maybe at risk. Obesity may cause heart diseases, cancer, type 2 diabetes, respiratory problems and
lack of self esteem and reduced quality of life. Upton and Thirlaway (2010) stated that an average of
35% of premature death is associated with obesity.
It is reported that 73 000 cardiovascular deaths and 34000 other deaths a year are related to the type
and quantity of food we eat. There are so many factors that cause obesity and diet, lifestyle and

Islamic World View Beyond Islamic Development Strategy Essay
Islamic World View Beyond Islamic Development Strategy, Is It There?
Introduction
Allan Bullock and S.Trombley (1999) refer worldview to a general conception of the nature of the
world, particularly as containing or implying a system of value principles. What constructs such a
system of value principles may vary depending on each fundamental belief. It becomes essential to
know the various type of worldview as it helps us to comprehensively understand our own worldview
and gain insight from others. Just as a mirror allows us to see our own face, so an alternative coherent
worldview illuminates and clarifies our own worldview (Zaman, 2008).
Differences in worldview are the essential foundation of differences in any system, including
economic system. As Chapra (1992) said that worldview performs the same function for an economic
system as the foundation does for a building: even though the supporting foundation is invariably
invisible and unmentioned, it continues to play a determining role. In general, there are three major
economic systems which based on completely distinct worldviews: capitalism, socialism, and Islamic
economic system.
Capitalism and socialism as the prevailing systems have been proven to be unsuccessful in solving
economic problems comprehensively. One of the failure evidence, global financial crisis in 2008,
which demonstrated reckless financing instrument and moral deficiency, provides a wider opportunity
for Islamic moral economy to be perceived

Cultural Stereotypes In When Worlds Collide
A nation s culture resides in the hearts and in the souls of its people, Gandhi said. Culture is in every
person, but everyone interprets it differently. Different cultures and individual interpretations of those
cultures can lead to changes in the way they view others and the world. A person s background
influences how they view the world, but outlying factors contribute to their outlook on different
aspects of society as well. While the things that you were raised with are your initial understanding of
the world, the experiences you gain of the world will affect the way you see the it to a larger extent.

In contrast, it is true that a person s viewpoint on the world can be affected by a single element. A
group of highly sheltered people are more likely to view life and society the same way because they
have no outside information to provide an outlook into anything else in the more advanced world.
However, in civilized society, everyone is free to determine their own ways of thinking and have their
own outlooks on civilization. Their outlooks are partially determined by their heritage, such as the
way they overall live their life. Other factors that have an effect on civilized and modernized people
today, such as social media, also sways them to have a different outlook on life that sheltered people
do not have. These people have more information on how different people have different ways of
living, which is a determining factor on their outlook on life. People who live in isolation would not
have this, meaning their background and ways of life would be the only thing that sways their
thinking. A person s lifestyle is like a cut up apple. Each individual slice represents a separate part of
their outlook, one slice representing their spiritual beliefs, one representing their house life, and one
being the way they treat people. A sheltered culture would be more similar to a full apple, because the
person wouldn t have those outlying factors to determine their outlook on life. Therefore,

Essay On Muslims In America
Most would argue that American s negative conceptions of Muslims and the cultures which originate
from the Middle East have dramatically risen since 9/11. Research shows that, although this may be
true, negative attitudes towards Muslim Americans have existed throughout the decades, and have
only just become more prevalent since the September 11th attacks. In October of 2001, ABC did a poll
to come up with the results of what percentage of America has favorable views of Muslim Americans.
This poll found that in 2001 there was a 47 percent favorable view of Muslims. In 2010 the percentage
dropped to 37 percent. Today that percent is even lower, at just 27 percent.
There is much that is misunderstood about Arabs and Muslims in America. This confusion has been
promoted by the terrorists attempt to use religion to justify their acts and has led to episodes of
discrimination against both Arabs and Muslims. For instance; most Arabs in America are not ... Show

They re trying to kill me (9). Yossarian learns that Orr is alive and decides to run away to Sweden to escape the war. Through Yossarian s character, Heller satirizes the fact that not everybody involved in war is a hero. Although Yossarian contributes to the war effort and does his share, deep inside he is truly traumatized by the war and cannot bring himself to be brave. Psych Network Research Paper Back in 2011, there was a major online attack that involved the Sony PlayStation online gaming service, PS Network and the compromise of 77 million users personal information. This was one of the largest corporation attacks within the last 10 years involving so many accounts. The attack took place between April 17th and 19th when an illegal and unauthorized person gained access to the personal account server and stole the information. What made this attack so much more important than just the amount was what was stolen during the attack. It did not just usernames and gamer tags, but the actual account owner s name, address, email, birthday, password, login and security questions. Then those said groups decided to take advantage of use an SQL injection attack to gain this information. A SQL injection attack involves the use of SQL statements written on the database layer of an application and is then run by the system to perform whatever statement was written there. This attack happened to be a form of SQL code that would take the information on the database and release it to the hacker. The other theory of how this occurred lies inside of a PlayStation 3 firmware build called Rebug , which turns the console into a developer kit used by game designers. With this feature active, it allows users to access parts of the PS3 s infrastructure that would not be normally available to the everyday consumer. What also came with this firmware update was the ability to access Sony s internal developer network. Additionally from there, hackers gained access to the internal secure network and could perform all kinds of hacks to trick the system. Sony may have not taken into consideration that their secure network could become a vulnerability to their servers. The other presented issue that came with this attack was that Sony never encrypted the data on their servers in the first place. Which means when the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Three Major Correctional Reformers Of the three major correctional reformers, I believe that Cesare Beccaria accomplished the most for corrections. Cesare Beccaria emphasized that the use of punishment for crimes was used solely for the purpose of protecting society and preventing crime. This is extremely important, because in the past, individuals were using punishment as a means of revenge, but Cesare changed this idea. Cesare s ideas eventually led to creation of classical criminology, and this alone helped to pave the road to ending unjustifiable punishments and inhumane treatment. Classical criminology contained six principles, and all of these principles emphasized the importance of using punishment to promote deterrence and prevention. Within these principles Cesare explains that prevention is more important than anything. This idea led to major reforms, including getting secret accusations and torturing of individuals abolished. That was not all, however, Cesare saw that the accused were not being given the benefit of the doubt, hence the torturing of individuals to get confessions that may or may not be true. He decided that the accused should have the right to a speedy trial, also humane treatment before the trial, and finally, the right to bring forward any evidence they may have on their behalf. This ultimately gave the accused a voice that they never had. Today, we see the idea of a speedy trial within our Constitution, along with other laws promoting fairness for those who have been accused. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The subscription package consisted of the mailing cost of the DVD, which would be streaming on any device that was compatible with Netflix software. In the beginning, all cost was provided by Netflix. But by the time the postage cost got higher, it heavily affected Netflix revenue. Later on, the CEO of Netflix Reed Hastings implemented a new business strategy with a new website. The customers needed to pay differently for streaming, rentals or together. DVD rental would be followed by Quikster and was offered by new website. These changes affected the customers adversely. Therefore millions of customer canceled their subscription. Afterwards, CEO Reed Hastings canceled the new strategy and kept the same options as it was before but with higher price. After this, a lot more customers got back to Netflix and realized that the higher price is well intentioned. Allowing stress to build up, losing sleep, and sitting all day without exercising at all add up. These words, written by Travis Bradberry, remind us that several things can affect our health, including sitting too much. The truth is, sitting all day is damaging to the body and mind. In today s world, many jobs are highly sedentary and do not require workers to move around much. Although sitting is the most common way to work in an office, there are many serious health risks to sitting all day and there are desks and equipment that can help reduce the amount of sedentary time at work. • 19. The Origin Of English Language Codification The linguistic term codification refers to the process of standardizing and developing a norm of a language (Revolvy, 2017). In addition, it means the methods of creation and use of the dictionary through designing writing system and setting grammar rules. According to Einar Haugen codification leads to minimal variation in form (Stein Tieken Boon van Ostade, n.d. 1994: p160), therefore it reinforces a certain variety which has been selected and accepted. Even though codification is the second stage in the standardization, it is ongoing process. The origin of English language codification was back to the 16th century, when many of dictionaries and grammar books had published with a view of teaching the language to Welsh noblemen after the Act of Union between Wales and England in 1536. These dictionaries contained a list of hard words, mostly loanwords which adopted and borrowed from other languages, or sometimes invented. Robert Cawdery produced the first English dictionary in (1604). It lists about 3000 words, with a brief simple description for each. He aimed to codify a language, to let readers understand hard words. (Bl.uk, 2017) By the 18th century, scholars developed codification, due to considering it as a recognized activity. For that authors and scholars such as John Walker and Thomas Sheridan started to write materials so as to set down perspective norms for pronunciation and grammar. Aside from males participating in figure skating, women boxers are generally viewed by others as manly. This is one of the most offensive terms a person can call a female boxer. • 23. Diesel Engines And Vehicle Performance Metrics Essay In the automotive world, efficiency and power are two elements of vehicle performance metrics that while important to many consumers and critics alike, appear to be elusive when in convolution with one another. In automotive history, good fuel efficiency equaled compromises in power and performance and vehicles with large displacements and torque usually had worse gas mileage. The exception to this rule were diesel engines, which managed to combine better efficiency than many four cylinder gas engines while providing very high torque number for better performance. The main drawback that diesel s faced was due to their stigma of being dirty, as they emitted more greenhouse gases including nitrous and sulfur oxides. Coupled with the stricter emissions that many states began to implement, primarily overseen by the EPA, it became harder for car manufactures to certify diesel engines for emissions while maintaining high fuel economy and power output figures. The emission control hardware and software in diesel vehicles also came at a high price and with increased complexity, both unwelcoming additions for any car company wanting to mainstream diesel s. Volkswagen Automotive Group (VAG) pledged to change these preconceived notions concerning power and efficiency with the debut of the clean diesel technology in 2008 within select models. The nurse should assume responsibility and accountability for their patient s health. This requires the nurse to research ways to assist a patient off ventilation, collaborate with physicians, and be aware of the patient s condition and readiness to wean. For some investigators, weaning success is defined as sustained spontaneous, unassisted breathing with or without an artificial airway, and for others it is defined as sustained extubation (Cook 2000). Whatever the nurse and physician see as the definition to weaning is far less important than ensuring their patient is weaned at the correct time. Allowing a patient to remain intubated and on mechanical ventilation when it is no longer needed, only puts the patient at risk for problems beyond the reason for initial intubation. Nurses should frequently monitor signs of a patient that is able to take spontaneous breaths. Assessing levels of anxiety and diaphoresis along with frequent monitoring of vital signs can signal to the nurse that the patient may no longer need the amount of assistance he is currently receiving. The nurse may begin to wean the patient by decreasing the amount in mechanical support, in a slow and gradual manner. The study shows the decrease in mechanical support can be effected by increasing periods of unassisted breathing, alternating unassisted breaths with mechanical breaths, and reduction of the support delivered ... Upon examination, the different levels of planning and strategies employed by both leaders guaranteed a Soviet victory, as Hitler overestimated his own forces, while Stalin focused on effective methods. Once the Nazis invaded, however, they were taken completely by surprise, and this led to Stalin utilizing different strategies with his own citizens. After a patriotic message from foreign minister, Vyacheslav Molotov , Stalin himself gave a few speeches that resonated with the people, by calling them to work together to defend against the Fascists as brothers and sisters . After the first few months of constant defeat, however, Stalin decided to take more desperate measures with Orders 227 and 270. Order 270 from August, 1941 stated that any Red Army soldiers who surrendered to the Nazis would be severely punished. The largest comparisons that can be made are the function of screens that shelter, the distinction of being sensible and having sensibility, as well as the necessity of wealth to determine character. Marianne shares many similarities with Lydia Bennet, the youngest daughter in Pride and Prejudice. Both believe their world is naturally good without corruption such as greed and lust to mar it. This creates a bias of distrustful feelings, that sympathy may be able to heal, but society might think is self absorption. Nonetheless, pity is created for the poor creatures. Introduction Allan Bullock and S.Trombley (1999) refer worldview to a general conception of the nature of the world, particularly as containing or implying a system of value principles. What constructs such a system of value principles may vary depending on each fundamental belief. It becomes essential to know the various type of worldview as it helps us to comprehensively understand our own worldview and gain insight from others. Just as a mirror allows us to see our own face, so an alternative coherent worldview illuminates and clarifies our own worldview (Zaman, 2008). Differences in worldview are the essential foundation of differences in any system, including economic system. As Chapra (1992) said that worldview performs the same function for an economic system as the foundation does for a building: even though the supporting foundation is invariably invisible and unmentioned, it continues to play a determining role. In general, there are three major economic systems which based on completely distinct worldviews: capitalism, socialism, and Islamic economic system.
