Argumentative Essay On Daycare Center
Imagine sitting in the middle of a packed lecture. Not only just a lecture, but a lecture for the most
important class you are taking. You are in the class trying your hardest to pay attention to every word
that the professor is saying. Right at the most crucial part of the lecture, a child starts screeching. This
horror story has been told all too many times around campus. Naturally here at Brigham Young
University with so many students that have started families before graduation, there will be an issue
with a child in class.
Although some parents have nowhere else for their child to go than to school with them, students
should be more considerate of others when they bring their screaming children to school. In 2014,
26% of students at BYU ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students have many expenses to worry about before they start to figure out a way to pay for day care.
The students are already spending money on tuition, books, food, clothes, wedding debts, and not to
mention the expenses of having and taking care of a child. Day care is just one more thing to add to
the pile of expenses they are already dealing with. Many of the students at BYU would rather watch a
child on their own than send them off to let someone else watch their child. These parents are afraid
that they will miss all of the important moments in their child s life if they send them off to be taken
care of by another person. These are common sacrifices that are made when a parent is in school or
work full time. If the parents are concerned about leaving their child with strangers, then they can plan
their schedules so that they can switch off with the child between classes and work. While one parent
is attending a class, the other parent can watch over the child during their break between classes or

The Silver Swan
In the poem by Orlando Gibons, The Silver Swan, the tempo is very slow and some words are dragged
out and made longer. Lyrically, the poem is rather sad and gloomy. Speaking about a swan that ends
up dying, a gentle and elegant creature that is easily compared to humans. The analogy between
humans and swans can be seen as considerably strong. Those who perceive themselves to be upper
class. Before the Swan dies, it sings: Farewell, all joys; Oh death, come close mine eyes; more geese
than swans now live, more fools than wise. It seems like the swan is saddened by how things have
happened. The geese and fools that are mentioned are the reason why her perfect life must come to an
end. The harmonies on the word death in the fifth line becomes minor up until the word come and
resolves on the words close mine eyes . This creates an emphasis on the word death and stands out in
the line. The use of the minor chord is almost like the swan has accepted its fate and understands that
this is the end for it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A love story between a shepherdess and her lover Amyntas. The major key creates a happy
atmosphere and combined with the lyrics sets a perfect scene for the listener. The poem describes how
the shepherdess sitting alone near a mountain. None of the other shepherds know where she had gone.
Amyntas (her lover) wanders through the mountains playing hide and seek. When he comes across
her, they fell to the floor and start kissing. The final line O then they fell a kissin is repeated with a
previous line of Up and down he wandered . The first time we hear this line it is referring to Amyntas
wondering up and down the mountains where as the repeated section is referring to the kissing of the
two. The singers employ a cheeky like sound here by shortening some words and by keeping the
energy of the poem

The, Pakistan, And Pakistan Essay
Manzoor et al (2013) reported that Pir Lisura N. Park, AJK, Pakistan area has 159 species of vascular
plants, belonging to 83 different families which includes 48 species of trees, 38 shrubs, 61 herbs, 7
grasses, 1 epiphyte and 4 ferns. Among trees 2 species of gymnosperms which are widely distributed
on all mountain slopes and most frequently exploited for timber. Other 46 tree species are
angiosperms which occur in selected patches of favourable habitat, mostly associated with human
settlements and agricultural fields.
Malik et al. (2009) recognized on the whole13 plant communities with a total of 77 species in Pir
Chinasi Hills of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It appeared that Ficus Lepedium Chenopodium
community might be the remnant of the original temperate forest. The associated woody species were
Acacia, Diospyrus, Aesculus, Morus , Pyrus , Berberis , Indigofera, Rubus and Zanthoxylum.
Ajaib et al (2010) conducted a study on useful shrubs of district Kotli, Azad J K, Pakistan and made to
record 38 species of 36 genera belonging to 25 families found useful in everyday life of local
inhabitants as medicinal, fuel, shelter and fodder/forage and in making agricultural tools. Most of the
shrubs were noticed having more than one ethnobotanical use. Family Rhamnaceae was recorded
unique among all the families in having comparatively the highest number of species.

The Olympic Charter Which Marks The Beginning Of Modern...
If we analyze The Olympic Charter which marks the beginning of modern Olympics we will realize
that these events originally were based on a philosophy and certain principles. As it is mentioned in
fundamental principle 2: Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced
whole the qualities of body, will and mind. Blending sport with culture and education, Olympism
seeks to create a way of life based on the joy found in effort, the educational value of good example
and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles. (Girginove et al 2005). From the above text it
can be argued that the concept of Olympism does exist in the modern world and has a slightly
different significance than the ancient Olympic games. The present philosophy revolves round the role
of sport in the development of this world as it provides international understanding and establishes
social and moral values (Girginove et al 2005). It has been understood that sporting events can act a
medium that can bring nations together on a single platform. The ideology of liberalism and equality
was further incorporated by De Coubertin who signifies the role of fairness, justice and respects for
person which can be obtained through Olympics (Girginove et al 2005). Now since we know the basis
and founding principles of both ancient and modern Olympic Games it is very clear that both of these
events have many unique social values. But I am still of my opinion that the social values placed

Some Thoughts on Health Is Wealth
Some Thoughts On Health Is Wealth
Many people are pursuing wealth and in the process losing their precious health.
Is frantic efforts of making more wealth really worth the price of losing your health?
The better your Health, the better are your chances of making more wealth.
Allocate some time in your busy schedule for giving your body proper exercise, nourishment and rest.
This is going to prove to be greatly useful in the longer run.
If you are addicted to Drugs like ganja, hashish, marijuana etc. Please, confess about your addiction to
a sensible serious minded elderly person and overcome the addiction. Otherwise, this will completely
ruin your health, wealth and soul.
No True Friend will ever want you to get addicted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Inthe process they ignore their health. They do not take care in eating food at the right time. In the
process of gathering more wealth, they also undergo a lot of stress.
So many people spend their health in gaining wealth and then spend their wealth to regain their health.
Money can buy a tonic but not health, we have to do a number of things to maintain our health . Now
because of lack of exercises and proper food and stress the wealth may increase but health begins to
suffer. It has been proved that overwork without care for health leads to a number of diseases. Disease
like stomach ulcer, obesity are due to bad eating habits. Lack of exercises and stress leads to high
cholesterol, Blood pressure and heart problems. So it is better to take care of your health.
If we have health, we probably will be happy and if we have both health and happiness we have all the
wealth we need. Health and intellect are two blessings of life. Happiness lies first of all in health.
Mahatma gandhi says that it is health that is the real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.
Taking care of one s health should be a continuous process. We should follow a routine of exercises
and proper food. It is said that exercise if persued continuously help us to gain strength. We should
also follow a diet that is beneficial for our health. Going on diet does not mean limiting your food. We
should aim at improving the quality of our food intake.

Hiv And Aids Impact On Society Essay
HIV/AIDS and its Impacts
HIV/AIDS is an illness that has been known across the globe for more than two decades because of its
effects on people, families, and relationships. This disease has contributed to the deaths of millions of
people throughout the world while there are other millions of people living with the illness. The
prevalence of HIV/AIDS is also evident in the fact that it continues to affect people, families, and
communities every day. The impact of this disease on families and communities is attributed to the
fact that it s not only transmitted from one individual to another but for every infected individual,
there is a family or community affected. Generally, the disease can be transmitted through unprotected
sex, during birth, and when sharing drug injecting equipments because it s a blood borne virus.
HIV/AIDS is a global challenge for the health sectors because it cannot be cured but only managed
through a combination of medications or medical procedures.
Impact of HIV/AIDS on Families and Relationships:
As previously mentioned, for every individual infected with HIV, there is a family and community that
are also affected. Since this disease is incurable and can be regarded as a chronic illness, families and
partners are usually mandated with the task of providing physical and emotional care to the infected
persons. The need to provide such care places considerable strain on the families and partners. As a
result, families and partners are likely to

British Youth Culture s Perception Of Drugs Essay
There is a common notion that drugs in the modernist era were used as a tool for youths to enhance or
escape reality; much of this statement is true, though this has been the case for most of history. The
unique aspect of British youth culture and its recreational use of drugs is that it produces a platform
for the normalization of the perception of an array of drugs. Since the mid twentieth century, the
prevalence of drug use among adolescents has witnessed a steady, upward curve; this may indicate an
actual increase in the number of participants using drugs, but more so reveals a more open, honest
mindset towards recreational drug use, despite the obvious health risks. Since the 1950s, British youth
culture s approach to drugs radically changed people s perception of drugs; it not only embraced
recreational drug use, but gradually normalized it over time. This has resulted in an open, casual
attitude towards a series of narcotics within British youth culture. This is credited to social, economic,
and political issues as well as the evolving leisurely activities, music and trends that took place during
the Mod era to today.
While drugs have always been a part of society, its perception and sense of casualness changed after
the Second World War due to economic, social, and political factors. Post war Britain (as well as
America) saw a parallel increase in both population and the economy, creating the Boom Generation
as well as a new consumerist society. This is crucial in

Bible Verses On Forgiveness In Marriage
Bible verses on Forgiveness in marriage
The biblical perspective of forgiveness in marriage correlates with forgiveness in all relations. The
incorporation of spiritual angle of forgiveness allows married couples to have faith in marriage
restoration. The Christian principles advocate for forgiveness because of its negative effects stated in
Galatians 5:19 (acts of sinful nature). Galatians 5:22 lists the fruits of the Holy Spirit which are the
positive results of forgiveness. They include: love, peace patience, faithfulness, humility, kindness,
joy, gentleness, and self control.
The bible states that forgiveness is the power of the Holy Spirit for it draws love. In marriage, prayer
is a powerful tool of intercession between Christ our father (God). The example of how to pray in our
Lord prayer in Mathew 6:1 states ....Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against
us
A letter of Paul to the Ephesians in Chapter 4:31 32 ...Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger brawling
lander and every form of malice. 32: be kind and compassionate to another, forgiving one another just
like Christ in Heaven forgave you. We are compelled to love on another. Christ took the form of man
and went through all humiliation and further crucifixion, if He could still forgive us for our sins, then
who are we to hold grudge with our spouses?

option. There is hope when you

Analysis Of Los Olvidados
With a great reputation for its historical significance, Los olvidados (1951), a film shot in Mexico
City, directed by Luis BuƱuel, endorsed the defining point of his profession. Having studied the given
excerpt of the script from a scene of the film, this report will not only portray intriguing political,
historical and social aspects, but also the phonological, morphological and lexical aspects and how
they influence the given content. The geographical location of this film has also proven to be of
relevant influence. BuƱuel succeeded to attract the wider world s interest into his work as it was his
intention to make everyone realise the truth. Ironically, BuƱuel being a surrealist director, Los
olvidados was not a surreal film. It was the first film directly addressing not only the issues identified
with the Mexican society but also Mexican cinema itself. From here, the attributes of Mexican cinema
were perpetually replaced.
Content Analysis
Los olvidados is based around the unfortunate events of streetboys whom gradually commit
lawlessness and breach the law under the influence on Jaibo, their leader. The given excerpt of the
script takes place in the beginning of the film, set in the Mexican slums. It is understood that Jaibo has
escaped from reform school, spots the boys in the street and reveals his encounters of the inside to
them. Many themes are picked up upon throughout this scene, the most fundamental being: Child
poverty, crime, machismo and more.
Commencing one of the main noticeable themes is poverty, which can be seen towards the end of the
given excerpt of the script. Child poverty is presented where Jaibo asks for a cigarette, which Cacarizo
replies to with Ni cigarros, ni quinto, mano. (Pountain: 209). It is inferred that the boys have
essentially nothing which can be linked to the historical aspects of Mexico city may have influenced
BuƱuel s work. Due to the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (1927) creating an economy based on
the political views of themselves and the more prestigious citizens of mexico, with only the rich
getting wealthier, leaving the rest unprivileged and poverty stricken. This also meant further widening
the gap between the prosperous and the penniless of the

Rowley s Use Of Symbolism In The Chaser
The party has arrived precisely where their contact has told them to meet.. Right? Our fearless
adventurers are supposed to be meeting an acquaintance named Rowley Nimbleknob to discuss, what
Rowley called in his letter, A matter of untold riches and ultimate evil! Rowley s directions however
have lead the heroes to a small restaurant in the rich part of town: hardly the place to be discussing
ultimate evil. The smell of decadent syrup cakes and aromatic tea permeates the air in the stuffy,
humid cafe. An old man sitting in a corner table waves ecstatically at the sight of the adventurers. Any
character who has met Rowley in the past can easily recognize him by the vibrant white of his beard.
Rowley wastes no time in explaining the ultimate evil once the heroes are seated. He has placed an
ornate lockbox on the table. Opening the lid reveals a series of holy symbols and enchantments to, in
his words, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He confides in the party that this is a Chronicler. A magical book that writes down that which happens
around it. He needs this particular one taken to the Grand Cleric in a distant land because this
Chronicler is broken, but nothing can destroy it. Sources holy, nor arcane. He even tried to burn it! It
has developed a mind of its own! Rowley yells. In fact, rumor has it, that this book can bend reality to
its will. Any time the book starts getting bored it will try to make the story it is writing more
interesting. This book is in fact the cause of dragon attacks, wars, sales at the market and even turned
its last owner into a kitten! He will offer the party whatever they wish if they promise to take it to the
Grand Cleric to have it destroyed. Rowley s tales are tall, but certainly these rumors are nothing more
than fanciful stories...

Purpose Of Government In The United States
What is the purpose of government? Many of us wondered about this from the beginning of the year
and more importantly, as we walked into the government room. Now, as we round out the year, we
have learned all about government and what it s purpose truly is. We look back and view many of
those stating what they think the government is. That is when we have to figure out what they are
saying.
Thomas Jefferson was one of the many important presidents in our country. Jefferson states that The
purpose of government is to enable the people of a nation to live in safety and happiness. Government
exists for the interests of the governed, not for the governors. As one of his most famous quotes, we
can see why it is so important. First of off, it is portrayed through the quote that the government is
supposed to be there for the people. It is not just there to strengthen the country, and leave the people
alone, fending for themselves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are there to help and engage the people of the country to help make it better. We can see this
through many laws and reforms that were made which help many of us Americans. Programs such as
Medicaid and Medicare, which help the elderly and poor improve their living conditions, and even
improve their physical wellbeing. It is also important in protecting many from all of the dangers that
come within and outside of our country. We have a military that does a great job, but if we didn t have
someone there to protect us, then who would? The answer would be no one. We would have a
government which is a mess, and would leave people fending for themselves. That would only leave
more turmoil for the generations after

Influenced By Marxism And Imperialism
Influenced by Marxism and imperialism, Dependency writers sought to explain the high inequities in
the world economic system in terms of its distribution of power and resources and places most nations
in a dependent position in relation to the industrial powers. Dependency scholars basically believe that
less developed countries will be unable to develop because the rich world uses them as the equivalent
of colonies. The major contention here is that the developing countries of the Global South are
hindered in their developmental efforts by their association (economic) with the industrialized
countries of the Global North.
Prominent scholars here include: Paul Baran and Paul Sweezy (Monopoly Capitalism, 1957/1960;

Free trade with minimal state intervention is the key tenet of neoliberal ideas driving most
international organizations. In the contemporary world characterized by open markets, US hegemony,
international organizations, regional cooperations and large inflows of foreign aids and technologies in
economically less developed states, national governments are increasingly constrained in formulating
and implementing policies that are deemed appropriate for their citizens.
I discuss below major developmental challenges in Africa (by extension other poor countries) which
have roots in contemporary imperial relations with the West. These include: debt burdens, structural
adjustment programmes, operations of multinational corporations and external aid.
Debt Burden
One of the greatest threats to development in most African countries is the huge debt stock and the
cost of servicing it. Large scale borrowing in the 60s and 70s (in a bid to ensure welfare of the citizens
after colonialism) coupled with events in the world economy such as rising oil prices, rising interest
rates, falling commodity prices and global recession led to the Debt crisis of the early 80s which left
many poor countries with huge cost of servicing debts which still lingers today. Even with the debt
relief initiative of the World Bank and IMF about two

Female Orgasm Dysfunction Paper
The sexual topic that I chose to explore for my paper is female orgasm dysfunction (FSD), where
many women, like myself, are unable to experience orgasm through vaginal intercourse. There are
many factors that contribute to a woman s inability, or infrequency to orgasm, such as biological,
psychological, and emotional factors. Being that my personal experiment had to do with factors
associated with personality such as openness to new experiences and shyness, I wanted to explore and
learn about other causes that effect female orgasm. Therefore I chose to read three articles: Personal
Factors that Contribute to or Impair Women s Ability to Achieve Orgasm, Emotional Intelligence and

In addition, their research yielded in results that showed that the total score of emotional intelligence
was found to be positively correlated with both frequency of orgasm during intercourse and
masturbation; that a high emotional intelligence level contributes to the ability to achieve orgasm
more frequently; and that the proportion of women who report always experiencing orgasm was
greater during masturbation compared with sexual intercourse (Burri, Cherkas Spector, 1933 1934).
One of my critiques of the research has to do with their method of using surveys and questionnaires,
because both methods can result in recall bias, where participants either lie about a response on
purpose or due to lack of memory, which can skew the results. Also, the sole use of twins for this
study seems odd to me, being that twins share the same genetic makeup, which makes me question
whether or not that had any impact on the results. If I were the researchers I would have used both
twins and a general mixture of women, in order to ensure that the overall population of the UK was

John Calvin s Influence On Church History
What Influence did John Calvin have on Church History? John Calvin was born on July 10, 1509 at
Noyon, in Picardy, which is the northern providence of France, located 60 miles northeast of Paris. If
you do the math, next July of 2009 the Christendom would celebrate the 500th anniversary of the birth
of Calvin, which many Bible conferences around the world are already preparing for next year. Calvin
entered the University Of Paris at the age of 14, and mastered almost everything he turned his
attention to, including a brilliant writing style and masterful skill in logic and logical argument. At the
age of 19, he graduated with his Master of Arts degree. And at the age of 22, he mastered a classical

That is very obvious when you read through his expositional commentaries on the Bible. However, for
many centuries prior to the Reformation, the typical hermeneutical methods were allegorizing and
spiritualizing the text. Having such methods, the church can say about anything she wants to believe
what the Bible says and means. Such hermeneutical gymnastics was a license for much of
ecclesiastical abuses. But for Calvin, the meaning of the text was the meaning of the text. What drove
him to handle the Word with such precision was due to his commitment to biblical exegesis. In fact, he
is considered the father of the modern day grammatico historical method of hermeneutics. To answer
what grammatical historical hermeneutics is, it is simply an interpreting rule in which the interpreter
considers the historical context and grammatical structure for the specific text that he wishes to
understand the way that the biblical author originally intended to convey. Calvin understood that
without the proper exegesis of Scripture, there is no expositional preaching. In other words, biblical
exegesis is the foundational work for proper expository

Theme Of Hyperreality In The Crying Of Lot 49
Introduction
Thomas Ruggles Pynchon, Jr. (b. 1937) who was awarded the US National Book Award for Fiction in
1974 for his most renowned novel Gravity Rainbow (1973) is mostly famous for such complicated
novels as V (1963), The Crying of Lot 49 (1966) and Mason Dixon (1977). While writing The Crying
of Lot 49, he was deeply distressed by the irreversible losses of World War II, the probability of
nuclear explosions, and role of the mass media; consequently he repeatedly presents the motifs of loss,
chaos, and entropy in his novel.
Pynchon is the author of seven novels, V (1963), The Crying of A lot 49 (1966), Gravity Rainbow
(1973), Vineland (1990), Mason and Dixon (1997), Against the Day (2006), andInherent Vic (2009).

How Has The American Dream Changed Over Time

Examined Life
Since the beginning of class, the students have been told the words of Socrates that, the unexamined
life is not worth living . If one does not take the time to reflect on their life, they will not develop
themselves as a person. Life consists of five dimensions that, when examined, form the examined life.
Each dimension of the examined life is interdependent and requires attention in order to develop and
be successful as an individual that can contribute value to the world. The intellectual dimension of the
examined life demonstrates this interdependence as it encompasses many of the other dimensions in
its application. In fact, Chickering, in his article, lays out how all encompassing a liberal education is.
He indicates that a liberal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Carr s article on Google looks into the interaction between the social and the intellectual dimensions.
Carr examines the effect Google has had on the intellectual development of people today and whether
or not they are less intelligent now than before. He argues that Google and the internet, which have
become ingrained in society today, has negatively affected abilities such as concentration and
contemplation thus hindering intellectual development. Similarly, Dowd examines how the social
dimension aspect of gender interacts with other the physical dimension. In one section she discusses
the social description of beauty and the physiological impact it has had on women. She indicates that
the sexualization of women in society has impacted the types of exercises and activities they partake

Were Your Ancestors Martian Essay
Scientist: Humans May Be Descendants of Martians four subheadings
Were your ancestors martians? According to Seth Shostak of the Search For Extraterrestrial Life
Institute (SETI) Martian organisms may have once descended to the Earth from Mars.
In an article for The Huffington Post, Shostak described the logic of his theory, which is based on a
phenomenon called panspermia. Panspermia, the astronomer said, is the mechanism by which biology
can spread through space without the benefit of expensive space agency hardware .
PANSPERMIA
More than two thousand years ago, panspermia was postulated by the Greek thinker Anaxagoras. But
its recent history began about a century ago, when the Swedish chemist Svante Arrhenius suggested
that stars radiation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would only be possible if the primordial protoplasm were protected to space conditions that don t
exactly nurture life.
After all, space is hardly benign: cosmic rays, extreme temperatures, and prolonged desiccation will
relentlessly corrode any biology that takes too much time en route, wrote Shostak.
And, as it is thought that billions of rocks came to Earth from Mars when the solar system was young,
couldn t life have come to Earth, too? Maybe, and the possibility certainly shouldn t be totally ruled
out when we consider this evidence. If lithopanspermia is possible (which the astronomer admits is
unlikely), countless worlds could be encrusted with biology , according to the astronomer.
The astronomer never went beyond speculation, and does not actually claim that Mars is the human
being s original planet. He did, however, mention a possible empirical test for the idea. If astronomers
find evidence of DNA based life existing on Mars, then we ll have good reason to believe that
terrestrial biology is an import. We could say that not only men are from Mars; we all are. Perhaps that
famous book will be republished under a different

One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest Chapter 1 Summary
Bromden mops and sweeps most of the time while he is at the ward due to the fact that people believe
he is deaf and dumb. The Big Nurse, Miss Ratched, enters with her confident attitude and immediately
gets mad at the black boys standing in the hall. However, she does not want the other patients to see
her in this state, so she calms herself. The woman gets angry any time her schedule is ruined or
something does not go according to plan. She tells the black boys to shave Bromden, and they obey.
Bromden does his best to hide, and he thinks back to his memories while fog surrounds him. When the
fog clears out, the new Admission arrives, and everyone stops to evaluate him. His name is Randle
McMurphy; Bromden is instantly reminded of his father ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
McMurphy walks to the Acute side, the ones whose illnesses are curable, and tries to strike a
conversation with Harding, who is supposed to be the craziest man. Every man in the ward begins to
ask the new patient many questions. Then Big Nurse comes to tell McMurphy that he needs to follow
the rules and take a shower, but he refuses to listen. Miss Ratched is reminded of Mr. Taber, an
intolerable ward manipulator, when she meets McMurphy. Bromden goes over the schedule he is
forced to go through every day. Some mornings he hides to break the repetitive actions, but other days
he finds it easier to move along with the routine like everyone else does. He compares it to being
jerked around in a cartoon world. He too remembers how Taber was defiant before the Big Nurse put
him through multiple shock treatments to control him. He now pays attention to what is happening
around him, and he is in one of the nurse s meetings. McMurphy makes the nurse agitated, so she
brings up his charge of rape. He attempts to make the doctor laugh by saying he is an insane man. He
succeeds, and then Doctor Spivey continues to tell him the theory of the Therapeutic

Bob Dylan Change
Thesis: history proves that change will eventually prevail whether it be in the present or generations
down line. And those who cannot accept it are simply left behind by society. Dylan directly and
metaphorically addresses this in his song. Additionally, I consider this theme to be timeless because
even today people push for change while others try to bar them, often stirring up controversy.
1st paragraph: Bob Dylan, an American poet/ songwriter wrote the song The Times they are a
Changing. The song was written in 1964, in the mist of the Civil Rights movement in America. Blacks
and Minorities alike were fight fighting for equality and rightful justice in society and they were not

Put A Persons Health At Risk
put a persons health at risk. For example, pollution caused from transportation and manufacturing

that reduces the quality of health. Collaborating with other researcher and tackling the root of the

Water is essential for us to live and yet there are still so many issue linked to contamination of water
and the health of people. A large proportion of the World s population around 1.1 billion people does
not have access to improved sources of water (Thompson et al., 2003). Many people take for granted
their ability to access clean water. When in reality this problem has been occurring for a very long
time and affects a vast amount of people. The first documented attempts to treat drinking water, which
may date back to 4000 B.C., were recorded in Greek and Sanskrit writings (Barry M and Hughes J,
2008). Even with the technology and knowledge we have today this problem is still occurring. In
order to fully understand its implications on people it has to be looked at in a global context.
According to Thompson et al. (2003), a long term goal of Global Health is to cut in half the number of
people who do not have access to clean water. This initiative will necessitate innovative, collaborative,
interdisciplinary, and intersectoral efforts, with commitment from national leaders and heads of
international agencies and with public private partnership (Barry M and Hughes J, 2008). Blending
ideas from people with different backgrounds will increase the likelihood of accomplishing this goal.

The Effects Of Dramatic Play On Children
Dramatic play gives children many opportunities to grow and learn. Children will learn
communication skills, physical skills and children will also be able to use imagination and be able to
be creative with their own ideas. Dramatic play can give children so many opportunities to grow
without them even knowing.
Dramatic play will help children gain communication skills just by talking with the other children. In
order for the children to play together they must listen to one another and be able to respond correctly
to the question or statement. As the article, How do Young Children Learn through Play points out,
Actual studies have demonstrated cognitive benefits such as increases in language usage including
subjunctives, future tenses, and adjectives (Sege, 2012, p.1). Children are learning even when they are
just playing we may not see it as educational, but there are many components involved in play.
Children who feel stressed or are just having a bad day may take out their anger or stress through play.
In Marie E. Cecchini article How Dramatic Play Can Enhance Learning states; They develop the skills
they need to cooperate with their peers, learn to control their impulses, and tend to be less aggressive
than children who do not engage in this type of play (Cecchini, 2008,p.1). Children who engage in
play can behave differently than they normally would because they are playing as someone else. By
acting out a different role children learn how to control their

Superstitions In The Minister s Black Veil
In The Minister s Black Veil by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the author seeks to convey that although all
individuals are sinners, members of society will condemn those who seek to confront their own faults.
This conclusion was drawn from the many motifs which relate to Puritan society, particularly the
superstitions and Christian ideologies of many New Englanders during the 18th century. In this tale,
Mr. Hooper s donning of the black veil is viewed as a change which alters his countenance
indefinitely; from the moment it is introduced, those who view it are awestruck. The mere sight of Mr.
Hooper even acts as a signal for the bell to cease its summons . As murmurs spread throughout the
congregation, Mr. Hooper preaches of secret sin, and those

Completing An EPQ On Colour Qualia
Completing an EPQ on colour qualia, which had me delve into a mixture of Psychology and
Philosophy, was one of the most enjoyable highlights of my entire school experience. This was but an
echo of my infatuation for these subjects. My attention has been captured by the eccentricities of many
different fields of study over the years of my life. I cannot, however, realistically say that any area can
maintain a strong enough grip upon me to keep me passionately motivated to pursue them as a life
path. This is with the exception of Psychology (and related areas of Philosophy).
I ve had an intrinsic obsession with Psychology long before knowing of the academic discipline, and
always wondered what made people act so differently from one another, yet so similar in differing
mannerisms. At age 6, this developed further when I tried resolving the issues causing my parents
constant arguing. I got them both to sit down, giving each a piece of paper, made them take deep
breaths then jot down the reasons making them discontent the other. I then got them to put what they
liked about the other before swapping the papers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparison Of Creon In Sophocles s Antigone
The ancient Roman philosopher Marcus Tullius Cicero once said, Never go to excess, but let
moderation be your guide. This is a lesson that us as a society can learn and practice; it warns of the
dangers of extremism in all aspects. Moderation is an important balance in the context of our everyday
lives because our desires cannot trump our ability to make positive decisions. If we base our decisions
on current events, the effects may come back to harm us in the end. In Sophocles tragedy, Antigone
audiences are shown the consequences of going against the lessons of moderation and the ways in
which characters let their desires overcome their decision making. Both and Creon and Antigone learn
this lesson when they, in fact let their own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The way he addresses them exemplifies his unwillingness to change for anybody, he finds it almost
laughable that they would alter his actions. Creon is again shown a good argument, that his own son
will die if he kills Antigone; however, because he does not accept that other people can alter his way
of doing things, he dismisses his son s threat later in the passage. Only a stubborn person would be
faced with the suicide of their son, and brush it off as bluff, and deny their involvement. Blindsided by
his own stubbornness, Creon finally meets his faith when he heads to Antigone s place of captivity to
see Her [Antigone] hanging by her neck... whereon the poor demented boy [Haemon] Leaned on his
sword and thrust it deeply into his own side. (159) Creon arrived to see Antigone dead and his son
killing himself, however there can t be sympathy for someone who brought it upon themselves. He
dismissed all people who got in his way, his son as well as his constituents, and he was met with the
unavoidable. As predicted by his son, he killed himself, therefore proving that Creon s stubbornness
lead directly to his son s death. Creon finally accepts his wrongs, but that is after he dismissed and
denied all contrasting arguments. Creon s downfall is by no doubt caused by his stubbornness, he had

Persuasive Essay On Conversion Therapy
Conversion therapy, also known as reparative therapy, or Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE)
has a troubled history within the United States and abroad. Conversion therapy is the use of a variety
of means to attempt to change an individual s sexual or gender orientation. Current practices include
inducing vomiting or paralysis while showing a subject homoerotic images, having a subject snap a
rubber band on their wrist whenever they have certain thoughts, or using tactics to create shame or
aversion to same sex or transgender thoughts. Many established institutes claim that the therapy does
or doesn t work and offer contradicting evidence for their position. The Movement Advancement
Project, a group dedicated to providing research for the advancement of LGBT people, states in an
infographic that nine states, plus the District of Columbia and a handful of municipalities have banned
conversion therapy from being provided by licensed medical professionals to minors ( Kids 1). Based
on the established evidence and the overwhelming number of psychologists and sociologist that
disavow conversion therapy, along with the multitude of horror stories from children who were
persuaded, or forced, to participate by their parents, the federal government should ban conversion
therapy for all minors.
Despite the largely negative responses, many organizations support conversion therapy. Many
practitioners such as the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality

Grounded Theory Paper
Research Design: This study will utilize a grounded theory approach to qualitative research.
Qualitative research methods are used to uncover meanings individuals or groups assign to a social or
human problem (Creswell, 2013, p.43; Denzin Lincoln, 1998, p.8) and to allow for a unified
theoretical exploration (Corbin Strauss, 2007, p.107; Denzin Lincoln, 1998, p.8). Specifically, a
qualitative approach is warranted when the nature of research questions requires further exploration
(Stake, 1995). Qualitative research questions usually often begin with how or why statements, to allow
the researcher to gain in, in depth understanding of what is going on relevant to the topic at hand
(Seidman, 1998; Patton, 2002, Charmaz, 2006, p.130). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, external validity, such as the ability to generalize these findings to the experience of all
providers who screen for perinatal mood disorders in adolescents is not possible. However,
applicability of the study to the reader s personal experience, however, is a goal. This applicability
would allow readers of this study and future researchers to identify pieces of the data that may create
interest or spark the development of general and routine screening for perinatal mood disorders in
adolescents throughout their pregnancy and until the child reaches his or hers first birthday.
Grounded theory is culturally sensitive and applicable to a variety of settings and populations (Strauss,
2015). The procedures that encompass grounded theory enable researchers to examine topics and
related behaviors from many different lenses thus developing comprehensive explanations (Strauss,
2015). Ground theory processes also provide opportunities to gain new insight into old problems as
well as to study new and emerging areas in need of investigation (Strauss,

The Pros and Cons of Ethanol Essay
A large part of the alternative fuels boom has been a part of civilization for thousands of years:
ethanol. The same substance that makes alcoholic beverages intoxicating is also a useful fuel. Ethanol
s potential as a motor fuel has been known since the first internal combustion engines were made; The
Ford Model T was able to run on gasoline, ethanol or any mix of the two (Bettelheim 802). As the use
of automobiles grew from the 1900 s to the 1920 s, it was found that petroleum was a cheaper fuel
source than ethanol (Bettelheim 802). Ethanol was mixed with gasoline to improve the fuel s octane
rating until the 1920 s, when oil companies stopped using it because fear of being labeled as
bootleggers. Ethanol had a brief resurgence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 2007 Energy Act also adds a requirement that a portion of the RFS is met with biofuels other than
ethanol from corn starch. The amount mandated for 2006 is four billion gallons of corn ethanol, and
this will gradually expand to thirty six billion gallons in 2022, of which twenty one billion gallons
must be from sources other than corn starch (19). To provide a basis for comparison, in 2004 about
136 billion gallons of gasoline were consumed in the US and about two billion gallons of ethanol
(Yacobucci 8). Ethanol is mainly consumed in two forms in the US. Most ethanol sold in the US is in
a mix of 10% ethanol and 90% gasoline called E10 (Yacobucci 8). Any car is able to run on this, and it
is currently being sold in much of the country. The ethanol works as an additive to help the gasoline
burn more cleanly, improves performance, and provides energy as a fuel. The other less common form
is E85, which contains 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Modern cars must be specially designed to run
on E85. Many newer models of cars are designed as such, and these are called flex fuel vehicles.
There are two common methods to make ethanol from corn (Rendleman 6). They mostly differ in the
way that the corn is prepared. The first step is to grind the corn. In wet milling, the starch containing
kernels of corn are separated from the other parts before grinding, since the starch is the only part of
the corn that will convert to ethanol

How Does Walker Present Celie s Relationship In The Color...
The unconditional love depicted in the relationships of The Color Purple by Alice Walker is similar to

because of the love we have for each other. My mother is a friend, confidence booster and my

You are in the class trying your hardest to pay attention to every word that the professor is saying. Right at the most crucial part of the lecture, a child starts screeching. This horror story has been told all too many times around campus. Naturally here at Brigham Young University with so many students that have started families before graduation, there will be an issue with a child in class. Although some parents have nowhere else for their child to go than to school with them, students should be more considerate of others when they bring their screaming children to school. The students are already spending money on tuition, books, food, clothes, wedding debts, and not to mention the expenses of having and taking care of a child. Day care is just one more thing to add to the pile of expenses they are already dealing with. Many of the students at BYU would rather watch a child on their own than send them off to let someone else watch their child. These parents are afraid that they will miss all of the important moments in their child s life if they send them off to be taken care of by another person. These are common sacrifices that are made when a parent is in school or work full time. If the parents are concerned about leaving their child with strangers, then they can plan their schedules so that they can switch off with the child between classes and work. • 3. The Silver Swan In the poem by Orlando Gibons, The Silver Swan, the tempo is very slow and some words are dragged out and made longer. Lyrically, the poem is rather sad and gloomy. Speaking about a swan that ends up dying, a gentle and elegant creature that is easily compared to humans. The analogy between humans and swans can be seen as considerably strong. Those who perceive themselves to be upper class. Before the Swan dies, it sings: Farewell, all joys; Oh death, come close mine eyes; more geese than swans now live, more fools than wise. It seems like the swan is saddened by how things have happened. The geese and fools that are mentioned are the reason why her perfect life must come to an end. The harmonies on the word death in the fifth line becomes minor up until the word come and resolves on the words close mine eyes . This creates an emphasis on the word death and stands out in the line. The use of the minor chord is almost like the swan has accepted its fate and understands that this is the end for it. ... • 5. The Olympic Charter Which Marks The Beginning Of Modern... If we analyze The Olympic Charter which marks the beginning of modern Olympics we will realize that these events originally were based on a philosophy and certain principles. As it is mentioned in fundamental principle 2: Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind. Blending sport with culture and education, Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy found in effort, the educational value of good example and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles. (Girginove et al 2005). From the above text it can be argued that the concept of Olympism does exist in the modern world and has a slightly different significance than the ancient Olympic games. The present philosophy revolves round the role of sport in the development of this world as it provides international understanding and establishes social and moral values (Girginove et al 2005). It has been understood that sporting events can act a medium that can bring nations together on a single platform. The ideology of liberalism and equality was further incorporated by De Coubertin who signifies the role of fairness, justice and respects for person which can be obtained through Olympics (Girginove et al 2005). Now since we know the basis and founding principles of both ancient and modern Olympic Games it is very clear that both of these events have many unique social values. • 8. British Youth Culture s Perception Of Drugs Essay There is a common notion that drugs in the modernist era were used as a tool for youths to enhance or escape reality; much of this statement is true, though this has been the case for most of history. The unique aspect of British youth culture and its recreational use of drugs is that it produces a platform for the normalization of the perception of an array of drugs. Since the mid twentieth century, the prevalence of drug use among adolescents has witnessed a steady, upward curve; this may indicate an actual increase in the number of participants using drugs, but more so reveals a more open, honest mindset towards recreational drug use, despite the obvious health risks. Since the 1950s, British youth culture s approach to drugs radically changed people s perception of drugs; it not only embraced recreational drug use, but gradually normalized it over time. This has resulted in an open, casual attitude towards a series of narcotics within British youth culture. This is credited to social, economic, and political issues as well as the evolving leisurely activities, music and trends that took place during the Mod era to today. While drugs have always been a part of society, its perception and sense of casualness changed after the Second World War due to economic, social, and political factors. Post war Britain (as well as America) saw a parallel increase in both population and the economy, creating the Boom Generation as well as a new consumerist society. This is crucial in ... The incorporation of spiritual angle of forgiveness allows married couples to have faith in marriage restoration. Galatians 5:22 lists the fruits of the Holy Spirit which are the positive results of forgiveness. They include: love, peace patience, faithfulness, humility, kindness, joy, gentleness, and self control. The bible states that forgiveness is the power of the Holy Spirit for it draws love. In marriage, prayer is a powerful tool of intercession between Christ our father (God). The example of how to pray in our Lord prayer in Mathew 6:1 states ....Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us A letter of Paul to the Ephesians in Chapter 4:31 32 ...Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger brawling lander and every form of malice. 32: be kind and compassionate to another, forgiving one another just like Christ in Heaven forgave you. • 12. Analysis Of Los Olvidados With a great reputation for its historical significance, Los olvidados (1951), a film shot in Mexico City, directed by Luis BuƱuel, endorsed the defining point of his profession. Having studied the given excerpt of the script from a scene of the film, this report will not only portray intriguing political, historical and social aspects, but also the phonological, morphological and lexical aspects and how they influence the given content. The geographical location of this film has also proven to be of relevant influence. BuƱuel succeeded to attract the wider world s interest into his work as it was his intention to make everyone realise the truth. Ironically, BuƱuel being a surrealist director, Los olvidados was not a surreal film. It was the first film directly addressing not only the issues identified with the Mexican society but also Mexican cinema itself. From here, the attributes of Mexican cinema were perpetually replaced. Content Analysis Los olvidados is based around the unfortunate events of streetboys whom gradually commit lawlessness and breach the law under the influence on Jaibo, their leader. The given excerpt of the script takes place in the beginning of the film, set in the Mexican slums. It is understood that Jaibo has escaped from reform school, spots the boys in the street and reveals his encounters of the inside to them. Many themes are picked up upon throughout this scene, the most fundamental being: Child poverty, crime, machismo and more. Commencing one of the main noticeable themes is poverty, which can be seen towards the end of the given excerpt of the script. Child poverty is presented where Jaibo asks for a cigarette, which Cacarizo replies to with Ni cigarros, ni quinto, mano. (Pountain: 209). It is inferred that the boys have essentially nothing which can be linked to the historical aspects of Mexico city may have influenced BuƱuel s work. Due to the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (1927) creating an economy based on the political views of themselves and the more prestigious citizens of mexico, with only the rich getting wealthier, leaving the rest unprivileged and poverty stricken. This also meant further widening the gap between the prosperous and the penniless of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Now, as we round out the year, we have learned all about government and what it s purpose truly is. We look back and view many of those stating what they think the government is. That is when we have to figure out what they are saying. Thomas Jefferson was one of the many important presidents in our country. Jefferson states that The purpose of government is to enable the people of a nation to live in safety and happiness. Government exists for the interests of the governed, not for the governors. The major contention here is that the developing countries of the Global South are hindered in their developmental efforts by their association (economic) with the industrialized countries of the Global North. Free trade with minimal state intervention is the key tenet of neoliberal ideas driving most international organizations. In the contemporary world characterized by open markets, US hegemony, international organizations, regional cooperations and large inflows of foreign aids and technologies in economically less developed states, national governments are increasingly constrained in formulating and implementing policies that are deemed appropriate for their citizens. I discuss below major developmental challenges in Africa (by extension other poor countries) which have roots in contemporary imperial relations with the West. These include: debt burdens, structural adjustment programmes, operations of multinational corporations and external aid. Debt Burden One of the greatest threats to development in most African countries is the huge debt stock and the cost of servicing it. Large scale borrowing in the 60s and 70s (in a bid to ensure welfare of the citizens after colonialism) coupled with events in the world economy such as rising oil prices, rising interest rates, falling commodity prices and global recession led to the Debt crisis of the early 80s which left many poor countries with huge cost of servicing debts which still lingers today. There are many factors that contribute to a woman s inability, or infrequency to orgasm, such as biological, psychological, and emotional factors. Being that my personal experiment had to do with factors associated with personality such as openness to new experiences and shyness, I wanted to explore and learn about other causes that effect female orgasm. One of my critiques of the research has to do with their method of using surveys and questionnaires, because both methods can result in recall bias, where participants either lie about a response on purpose or due to lack of memory, which can skew the results. Also, the sole use of twins for this study seems odd to me, being that twins share the same genetic makeup, which makes me question whether or not that had any impact on the results. John Calvin was born on July 10, 1509 at Noyon, in Picardy, which is the northern providence of France, located 60 miles northeast of Paris. If you do the math, next July of 2009 the Christendom would celebrate the 500th anniversary of the birth of Calvin, which many Bible conferences around the world are already preparing for next year. Calvin entered the University Of Paris at the age of 14, and mastered almost everything he turned his attention to, including a brilliant writing style and masterful skill in logic and logical argument. Having such methods, the church can say about anything she wants to believe what the Bible says and means. Such hermeneutical gymnastics was a license for much of ecclesiastical abuses. But for Calvin, the meaning of the text was the meaning of the text. What drove him to handle the Word with such precision was due to his commitment to biblical exegesis. In fact, he is considered the father of the modern day grammatico historical method of hermeneutics. To answer what grammatical historical hermeneutics is, it is simply an interpreting rule in which the interpreter considers the historical context and grammatical structure for the specific text that he wishes to understand the way that the biblical author originally intended to convey. While writing The Crying of Lot 49, he was deeply distressed by the irreversible losses of World War II, the probability of nuclear explosions, and role of the mass media; consequently he repeatedly presents the motifs of loss, chaos, and entropy in his novel. Pynchon is the author of seven novels, V (1963), The Crying of A lot 49 (1966), Gravity Rainbow (1973), Vineland (1990), Mason and Dixon (1997), Against the Day (2006), andInherent Vic (2009). If one does not take the time to reflect on their life, they will not develop themselves as a person. Life consists of five dimensions that, when examined, form the examined life. Each dimension of the examined life is interdependent and requires attention in order to develop and be successful as an individual that can contribute value to the world. According to Seth Shostak of the Search For Extraterrestrial Life Institute (SETI) Martian organisms may have once descended to the Earth from Mars. In an article for The Huffington Post, Shostak described the logic of his theory, which is based on a phenomenon called panspermia. Panspermia, the astronomer said, is the mechanism by which biology can spread through space without the benefit of expensive space agency hardware . It would only be possible if the primordial protoplasm were protected to space conditions that don t exactly nurture life. After all, space is hardly benign: cosmic rays, extreme temperatures, and prolonged desiccation will relentlessly corrode any biology that takes too much time en route, wrote Shostak. And, as it is thought that billions of rocks came to Earth from Mars when the solar system was young, couldn t life have come to Earth, too? Maybe, and the possibility certainly shouldn t be totally ruled out when we consider this evidence. If lithopanspermia is possible (which the astronomer admits is unlikely), countless worlds could be encrusted with biology , according to the astronomer. The astronomer never went beyond speculation, and does not actually claim that Mars is the human being s original planet. He did, however, mention a possible empirical test for the idea. If astronomers find evidence of DNA based life existing on Mars, then we ll have good reason to believe that terrestrial biology is an import. Persuasive Essay On Conversion Therapy Conversion therapy, also known as reparative therapy, or Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE) has a troubled history within the United States and abroad. Conversion therapy is the use of a variety of means to attempt to change an individual s sexual or gender orientation. Current practices include inducing vomiting or paralysis while showing a subject homoerotic images, having a subject snap a rubber band on their wrist whenever they have certain thoughts, or using tactics to create shame or aversion to same sex or transgender thoughts. Many established institutes claim that the therapy does or doesn t work and offer contradicting evidence for their position. The Movement Advancement Project, a group dedicated to providing research for the advancement of LGBT people, states in an infographic that nine states, plus the District of Columbia and a handful of municipalities have banned conversion therapy from being provided by licensed medical professionals to minors ( Kids 1). Based on the established evidence and the overwhelming number of psychologists and sociologist that disavow conversion therapy, along with the multitude of horror stories from children who were persuaded, or forced, to participate by their parents, the federal government should ban conversion therapy for all minors. Despite the largely negative responses, many organizations support conversion therapy. Many practitioners such as the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality ... Qualitative research methods are used to uncover meanings individuals or groups assign to a social or human problem (Creswell, 2013, p.43; Denzin Lincoln, 1998, p.8) and to allow for a unified theoretical exploration (Corbin Strauss, 2007, p.107; Denzin Lincoln, 1998, p.8). Specifically, a qualitative approach is warranted when the nature of research questions requires further exploration (Stake, 1995). Qualitative research questions usually often begin with how or why statements, to allow the researcher to gain in, in depth understanding of what is going on relevant to the topic at hand (Seidman, 1998; Patton, 2002, Charmaz, 2006, p.130). ... As the use of automobiles grew from the 1900 s to the 1920 s, it was found that petroleum was a cheaper fuel source than ethanol (Bettelheim 802). The amount mandated for 2006 is four billion gallons of corn ethanol, and this will gradually expand to thirty six billion gallons in 2022, of which twenty one billion gallons must be from sources other than corn starch (19). To provide a basis for comparison, in 2004 about 136 billion gallons of gasoline were consumed in the US and about two billion gallons of ethanol (Yacobucci 8). Ethanol is mainly consumed in two forms in the US. Most ethanol sold in the US is in a mix of 10% ethanol and 90% gasoline called E10 (Yacobucci 8). Any car is able to run on this, and it is currently being sold in much of the country. The ethanol works as an additive to help the gasoline burn more cleanly, improves performance, and provides energy as a fuel. The other less common form is E85, which contains 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Modern cars must be specially designed to run on E85. Many newer models of cars are designed as such, and these are called flex fuel vehicles. There are two common methods to make ethanol from corn (Rendleman 6). They mostly differ in the way that the corn is prepared. The first step is to grind the corn. In wet milling, the starch containing kernels of corn are separated from the other parts before grinding, since the starch is the only part of the corn that will convert to ethanol ...
