The Mexican-American Revolution Summary
Scholars are quick to neglect the beginning of the fight when discussing the Mexican American
struggle for justice. People claim that the first major rumblings...were heard in California in 1967,
citing radicalization in universities (Rosales 175). However, they blatantly disregard the foundation
for the movement as whole. The beginning of the 20th century Mexican American revolution dates
back at least to depression era America, starting with the case Alvarez vs Lemon Grove, a monumental
decision prohibiting de jure segregation of Mexican Americans in public school and followed by
multiple other lawsuits similarly challenging segregation and discrimination (Castro). Rosales s
reading does however differentiate these cases as well as early

Going To School As A Refugee
Did you know that according to the Un refugee Agency s annual Global Trends study found that 65.6
million people were forcibly displaced worldwide at the end of 2016 a total bigger than the population
of the united kingdom and about 300,000 more than last year. ? Its tragic that this is true but this is
what the world has came to.In the text Going to School as a Refugee the main issue for SB was he
couldn t speak the language so he was always lost in school and always made fun of for being
different than everyone else. Every refugee struggles with this problem because they flee their country
to different one with a different language. When war comes to their village some of their family
members die because if they dont agree with whats going on the communists or the army will kill
them and move on. Since they don t know how to speak the language they can t make friends so they
are always lonely, the only people they can talk to is other refugees that speak their language or their
family. In the book Inside out and Back Again by Thanhha Lai the main character is a 10 year old girl
named Ha. Since the war came to her village she had to put her childhood aside and be a grownup.
She couldn t be picky because the she got were very limited because she wasn t rich her dad was

Kyoto Protocol Simulation
Almir Buco The Art of a Deal:A Kyoto Protocol Simulation 1st Hour In my first hour Environmental
Science class, we did a simulation of what it would be like to experience a real life situation of deals,
and arguments. There were four countries (A, B, C, and D) that were represented. I was a part Country
B. We had three members in our group, and we were just relaxing at the beginning of the group
assignment. Moments later, after the assignment was announced, we got into our groups and headed to
the other side of the room with the other countries. We sat and listened to the other groups argue and
make their deliberate deals. They seemed really sure of what they wanted, so I and my group decided

The Effects of Genetic and Environmental Factors on Type 1...
The Effects of Genetic and Environmental Factors on Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disorder, in which the pancreas does not produce insulin. It usually
begins in childhood or adolescence. In Type 1 diabetes, the body s immune system destroys beta cells
in the pancreas that produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that converts sugar, starches, and food into
energy. Without insulin, blood glucose levels become too high, which is known as hyperglycemia. To
prevent hyperglycemia, people with Type 1 diabetes must take insulin daily to survive. Genetic and
environmental factors affect the onset of Type 1 diabetes. [1] According to the American Diabetes
Association, a predisposition to Type 1 diabetes is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The research on the affect of viruses in triggering Type 1 diabetes is inconclusive, and some is even
contradictory. Some researchers have also found that viruses may prevent Type 1 diabetes. Scientists
at Joslin Diabetes Center add trauma as a potential trigger of Type 1 diabetes. A traumatic event, such
as a body trauma or a car crash, increases the body s insulin requirement and strains the pancreas. [5]
Dr. James H. Warram at the Joslin Diabetes Center concluded that the trauma does not cause diabetes,
but it can trigger the onset of the disease.
Another possible environmental cause of Type 1 diabetes is early diet. Breastfeeding for at least three
months has shown to decrease the risk of Type 1 diabetes, and a diet including cow s milk before the
age of one year old may increase the risk of diabetes. The American Diabetes Association reports that
the onset of Type 1 diabetes occurs more often in winter than in summer. It is also more prevalent in
cold climates. This leads researchers to conclude that cold weather may be a possible trigger of Type 1
diabetes, as well. [6] Dr. Andrew Weil (2014) explains that in addition, Weather has an impact on
eating and exercise habits, which can in turn influence how well you re able to control your blood
sugar. (drweil.com, 2014) The phenotype for Type 1 diabetes includes the presence of autoantibodies
in the body. [7] These autoantibodies prevent the pancreas from adequately

Exxon Bligh Reef
In 1989 the oil tanker Exxon Valdez ran aground on Bligh Reef located off the coast of Alaska. The
Exxon Valdez spilled thousands of barrels of oil into Prince William Sound, which was the biggest oil
spill to date. Thousands of animals and hundreds of thousands of birds died in the days immediately
after the spill. The fishing and tourism industries suffered losses estimated in the millions of dollars
(Loeb McCall, 2008). The incident was investigated thoroughly and legal cases were pursued against
ExxonMobile. There were several parts to this case. Parts of the case were not disputed and
understood as proper protocol, this included why the ship went off path into the Bligh Reef area (Loeb
McCall, 2008). The ship had recognized icebergs and had notified the coastal guard of their new
intended path in order to avoid the icebergs (Loeb McCall, 2008). The point that was disputed was the
condition of Captain Hazelwood during the route change. It was believed that when Captain

Exxon appeared to respond to the situation in the form of compensating each claim in the total sum of
upward to 2 billion dollars (Loeb McCall, 2008). Their ethical implications at the time were admitting
fault, paying for all cleanup, and deploying their own people to help clean up the spill. The main
ethical implication that faced Exxon was their decision to allow their Captain to maintain his position
even with their knowledge of his substance abuse. Many argue that this incident could have been
avoided if Exxon would have removed the Captain from his post or had him switch to a position
where safety is a main focus. Another ethical concern was Exxon fighting the decision punitive
damage amounts in court. Exxon beliwved the amounts should be lowered. People believed the

Censorship In Children s Literature
Censorship In Children s Literature Euphemism, a form of indirect censorship, is often used to
substitute certain phrases in order to soften their influence. The word dead becomes passed away , one
who was once disabled is now physically impaired , and what used to be considered firing a worker ,
is called employee termination . These euphemisms are used to protect their audience from the reality,
and although they sometimes serve to censor people from the truth, they ineffectively protect children
from explicit content in many forms of literature. Despite the fact that And Tango Makes Three by
Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, and Charlotte s Web by E.B. White are excellent children novels
that teach meaningful lessons, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the authors have tried to dampen the plot with the use of euphemisms, society feels that
stories, such as Richardson and Parnell s picture books, require further censorship. The authors of And
Tango Makes Three fail to show the hardships of being openly gay, and therefore mislead young
readers into thinking that it is as easy to be a homosexual in today s society as it is to be a
heterosexual. Children are given false hope as to what life will be like in the future if they are to
become homosexuals, and although it is certainly possible for a gay couple to live a simple life like
Roy and Silo, the reality is that there will be many more struggles for them to be openly gay.
Richardson and Parnell show Roy and Silo s struggles while they try to create a family as, Day after
day Silo and Roy sat on the rock, (Richardson and Parnell, 17), hoping they would become like the
other penguins in the zoo. However, this aspect of the story did not portray how difficult it can be in
reality for a gay couple to form a family. It is said that Roy and Silo are, ...just like the other penguin
couples, (Richardson and Parnell, 12), which does not accurately portray what life is like for
homosexuals. The authors have created a perfect world for Roy and Silo, where the only difference
between them and the other penguins is that they are unable to produce eggs themselves. Although this
is a society that many dream of one that contains no discrimination against homosexuality many areas
in the world have not yet reached this level of civility, which misleads children into thinking life as a
homosexual will be as simple for them as it was for Roy and Silo. In addition, E.B. White fails to
show the harsh actions that farmers typically take for animals that are considered to be useless. In
reality,

Rangefinders Research Paper
Rangefinders have become a huge part of hunting. So what makes up the best hunting rangefinder?
Well, it is obvious that knowing the range of your target is a huge benefit, especially when shooting
long range and archery. The further out a shot is, the more the projectile will drop, but if you know
your weapon and the distance to the target, you can effectively shoot at incredible distances. Here we
will take a look at what you should look for in a rangefinder for hunting
There are several things that you need to be aware of before you buy a rangefinder so that you can buy
the best hunting rangefinder for your situation. There are options that not all rangefinders have that
will prove very beneficial once you use them. Here is a list of the items to keep in mind before you
buy:

Let s break these down to make sure you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For most long range shooters, you will want a rangefinder good for over 1,000 yards. Even if you are
an archery shooter you will want a high maximum range. Even if you will not use the long range for
hunting or shooting, it is still fun to use. Not to mention, most models these days have maximum
ranges of 1,000 yards or better.
Even though a hunting range finder might have a maximum range of 1200 yards for instance, it is
important to remember that this number is only accurate in the most ideal conditions. Most maximum
ranges are calculated on a large reflective surface in the perfect weather conditions, which is not
typical of a hunting situation. On deer sized animals with typical conditions you are normally good out
to about 75% of the stated range. That being said, higher quality hunting rangefinders will live up to
their stated maximum range much more than the cheaper ones will. Yet another reason to go with the
best you can afford.

Different Styles Of Traditional Thai Ensembles
There are two different, traditional Thai ensembles. Neither type of ensemble has a specific name,
however, they can be easily differentiated by the different types of instruments they use. One type of
ensemble consists mainly of string and melodic percussion instruments (Morton, 1976). This same
ensemble is responsible for providing music for plays and other stage acts. The most well known style
of music that the string and melodic percussion ensembles would perform is Pi phat. This expression
of music is distinguishable by its fast, flashy tempo and unique instruments ( Music of Thailand ,
2013). Pi phat is audibly recognizable by the pinai, a shrill quadruple reed oboe like instrument which
is always accompanied by melodic percussion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The origin of xylophones can be traced back to Africa and several early Asian civilizations, but it is
has a Greek name that means wood sound ( Percussion Instruments , 2015). It was greatly used in
Thailand in folk music and traditional Thai music. Both traditional and folk Thai music share similar
characteristics; both use some of the same melodic percussion instruments, and among these
instruments are xylophones. Xylophones are melodic percussion instruments that consist of a series of
wooden bars graduated in length to produce the musical scale, supported by belts of straw or felt (
Xylophone , Merriam Webster). These instruments are traditionally played by striking the wooden
bars with two small wooden hammers.
In modern times, xylophones are used in ensembles around the world. A modern xylophone has its
wooden bars, or keys, arranged like the keys of the piano and attached to the bottom of the wooden
bars are metal tubes called resonators, where the sound vibrates. The resonators gives the xylophone
its bright, bell like sound ( Percussion Instruments , 2015). It is considered to have a soprano pitch due
to its shrill sound. In orchestras, xylophones are played with four mallets instead of the traditional two
mallet method (Cherrett, 2011). They are also played using mallets of other materials rather than the
traditional wooden hammers. Xylophones can be played with mallets of different hardnesses

The Stories Of Cinderella, Snow White, And Sleeping Beauty
Most of us grew up watching and reading the stories of Cinderella, Snow White and, Sleeping Beauty
all of which were produced by Disney. But what if I told you that the versions you grew up watching
and reading are far from the original versions depicted by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, better known as
the Brothers Grimm. In their tale of Cinderella there was no fairy godmother, the step sisters cut off
portions of their feet to fit into the slipper and none of the animals talked or sang, but rather plucked
out the step sister s eyes as punishment for the mistreatment of Cinderella. Which begs the question,
what inspired the brother s to write these types short stories, which are so not what is recognized today
as a fairy tale ? The rags to riches tale of Cinderella (the Brothers Grimm version) the maiden later
known as Cinderella goes from a beloved and cherished daughter, to a household slave after the death
of her mother and father s remarriage to a cruel step mother and two heartless step sisters. To which is
very similar to the Disney version most of us are familiar with today. The authors do a good job of
laying out the magical portion of the tale which was created through the tears she shed every over the
tree branch she planted at her mother s grave that flourished into a tree and produced a white bird at
each of her visits that granted her whatever she wished for.
The authors keep to a more realistic setting in the story that was true to their era and German

The Characteristics Of Military Warfare During The...
Due to the lack of better tactics, 4,435 soldiers were killed from battle wounds during the American
Revolution. The most common tactic during the American Revolution was line infantry, which was no
longer a viable tactic to use in future battles due to many deaths, and how it ultimately let the larger
army be victorious. This lead to new tactics specifically trench warfare which was first used during the
American Revolution and has now become the most used tactic in war, especially during the world
wars. There was another form of fighting called guerrilla warfare which was important for the
colonists to defeat the British because they knew the area much better than the British and could get
the upper hand. These military tactics used by the colonists in the American Revolution laid down the
foundation for advancement in tactical warfare. Line infantry helped at the time due to the weapons
used then, but in modern combat, the tactic has become obsolete. During the American Revolution,
weapons were not reliable or advanced enough to be used in quick combat where targets could be
moving. The first firearm to be used in the American Revolution was the Brown Bess musket and
weighed around 10.5 pounds, and was most effective within 50 yards, but could be used by a skilled
musketeer up to 175 yards. It took a long amount of time for the musketeer to reload the weapon if
once it was fired. A rifleman could shoot up to 2 5 rounds per minute, leaving them vulnerable to rush
attacks.

Millions Danny Hales Essay
In the film, Millions, directed by Danny Boyle, a compelling character who intrigues me is the
antagonistic Anthony Cunningham. I find his complex character interesting as he is still grieving for
his mother s tragic death whilst managing to use her death to his advantage. Also, his way of thinking
and dealing with the money is very different to from many other kids his age would do. His way of
thinking has a powerful awareness of right from wrong but throughout the movie he gets it jumbled up

Anthony is still struggling within the stages of grief and is trying hard to mask it. The director shows
this in the opening scene, the two boys delightedly lay down next to each other after riding their bikes.
As the two brothers lay down next to each other, we can see that Damian is wearing a blue shirt which
can often be interpreted as sorrow or calmness. While Anthony is wearing a red jacket which is
normally deciphered as hatred or anger. However under Anthony s red jacket, we can see that he is
also wearing a blue shirt. The director s purpose of doing this is to foreshadow that Anthony is using
ignorance to mask his misery and woe. The director shows us that Anthony disguises his sadness with
annoyance towards the end of the movie when Damian brings Dorothy into their house. This is shown
because we can see Anthony thinking that she is there to replace their mother. Due to this, we see him
whispering a angry hushed tone Is that what you want? Her in there with him, instead of Mum? .
Personally, this is quite understandable because I know that it is extremely difficult to be going
through the stages of grief after someone who is close to you s death. This could link back to my first
paragraph Anthony wants to keep a close relationship with Damian by trying to set a good example by
moving on. Anthony struggling through the hardships may also be why he is pulled in by tempting

The Advantages Of The Economic Definition Of Economic...
TFP is the essence of economic notion of productivity and is used as a measure of technical progress.
It shows the efficiency with which all inputs are used in a production function and is defined as the
measure of increase in output not due to different input choices but due to increase in marginal
products of factors of production.
TFP= %∆ in total output α* %∆ in capital (1 α)* %∆ in labour engaged
Purpose:
TFP measurement helps unravel the direct growth contributions of labour, capital, intermediate inputs
and technology. This is an important tool for reviewing past growth patterns and for assessing the
potential for future economic growth.
Advantages:
Total factor productivity tries to capture the efficiency with which inputs of capital as well as labour
are used. If workers are given better machines and equipment, this will automatically boost output per
man hour, even if there is no gain in overall economic efficiency once the extra capital spending is
taken into account.
Investors should look at total factor productivity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Amongst its functional form (the formula) this method holds a heavy advantage i.e., it does not need
to refer to a particular kind of production function. Thus it is not dependent on the unrealistic
assumptions on which total factor productivity is based. Furthermore, to quantify labour productivity
one has not to rely on the distributive shares in output, which are strongly influenced by market
power, and such a measure of productivity encompasses all kinds of technical change embodied and
disembodied (Reatti, 2001). The relative influence of these two types of technical change can be
measured separately by splitting the formula of productivity of labour into its components − the
degree of mechanisation (the capital/labour ratio), and the productivity of

How Communication Is Influenced By Varieties Of...
Our communication is influenced by varieties of circumstances and people. However, the most
important thing which affects our communication is our backpack, which means the environment that
we raised in. we carry this backpack every time when we communicate with others, so in this essay I
am going to demonstrate my interpersonal communication behavior. First of all, I am going to
demonstrate what about my communication is unique to my specific circumstances. The way of
communication is different when I was talking with Americans and Japanese. Whenever I talk with
American people, I try to be more open mind. Since I came here in NDSU, I have a lot of
opportunities to communicate with Americans. I realized that Americans are so friendly, so I made
effort to adapt American culture. Instead of that, when I communicate with Japanese people, I will be
more shy. In my experiences, Japanese people tend to do not like the too friendly people at the first
time. Thus, I pay attention to not so be friendly for Japanese during the ice breaker. As a result, when I
communicate with Japanese, I will be like a coconuts. It means that the first time is unfriendly like the
shell of coconuts but the inside is very sweet and flexible. Instead, when I communicate with
American, I am like a peach. The surface of peach is very soft but it has a hard core, so as a similar as
peach, I can be more friendly but it is hard to show people how do I feel and think honestly. Moreover,
when I am

Explain Why Matt Should Not Have Gone To The Indian Village
Matt was alone. In a cabin in the woods all by himself, he was keeping house till his parents came. He
met an Indian boy who invited him to his village. Should he go? Matt should not have gone to the
Indian village for these three reasons. They were not familiar people, it was not his usual trail, and he
was not the expected champion. The first reason Matt should not have gone to the Indian village is
that they were not familiar people. He did not understand their ways, their speech, or their dances. He
was totally clueless about the Indian culture, except what he had heard from his teachers. He would
likely say or do something foolish, and offend someone, and who knows what they might do to him if
they got angry. He was not familiar enough

Gay And Lesbian, Gay, And Homosexual Marriages
Recent estimates suggest that between 2.0 and 3.7 million children are being raised by lesbian, gay,
bisexual, and transgender adults in the United States, according to the 2013 National Health Interview
Survey and Gallup Poll data (Gates, 2014). The battle of equal right in many aspects for gay and
lesbian couples have been going on for years, and although significant progress has been made, there
are many aspects within their relationships that are not yet equal to heterosexual couples in similar
situations. Gay and lesbian couples have to deal with daily discrimination within issues such as
marriage, legal issues, medical issues, and mamy forms for homophobia. Adoption has been a big
question and fight for gay and lesbian couples for many years, one that is still being found today.
Questions of whether or not a gay or lesbian couple can properly raise a healthy child, if the child s
psychological development would be compromised, any many other arguments have been proposed in
disapproval of adoption for these couples. Adoption is a tedious process for a heterosexual married
couple and the challenges and hoops needed to be jumped through to finalize the process can be even
more difficult for homosexual couples and single gay or lesbian individuals. Gay and lesbian couples
have faced many challenges through the course of time, and adoption is just another part of that
challenge. Just as it is legal for men and women of the same sex to marry, so is adopting a child.
However, there is great prejudice over the issue and the power of opinion often stunts, and sometimes
terminates, the couples process and success of being able to adopt a child of their own all because of
the judges, biological parents, or spectators personal opinions. In 2004 the American Psychological
Association declared the no difference theory that states, no scientific evidence that parenting
effectiveness is related to parental sexual orientation: lesbian and gay parents are as likely as
heterosexual parents to provide supportive and healthy environments for their children, . Certain
studies show a difference in childhood development between children of same sex marriage and
biological parents, but none that deem gay or

British Independence
When Britain first created the colonies, they thought they had really done something and that the
colonies would forever be ruled by them. Although this sounded good to both the colonies and Britain
at first, the Continentals soon changed their minds. The colonists broke away from British rule mainly
because of implementation of the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, Tea Act, and the Intolerable Acts; all of which
were imposed by Parliament. In 1776, Parliament passed the Sugar Act. The act increased the prices
on all sugars that the colonies used. The profits from it went directly to Britain to pay for the French
and Indian War debt. This upset the colonists because they were previously told that they would not
have to pay for any of the war, then the King of England imposed this tax on them anyway. This began
the colonists anger toward Britain. The Stamp Act was passed in 1765, it required the colonists to pay
a tax on any printed paper goods that they used, and they had to have a stamp on them proving that the
tax was paid. This was the first direct tax imposed on individual colonists. All of the proceeds went
toward British soldiers, which did not benefit the colonists at all. The Sons of Liberty protested some
but it did little to no good to sway Parliament. Eventually the colonies boycotted all British goods
which pushed Parliament to repeal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The colonists were infuriated by another tax being passed without their permission. The Sons of

damage when they set their minds to it. The Boston Tea Party was a direct response to the Tea Act; it
was another way that the colonists showed that they opposed

The Signal And The Noise Book Report
The Signal and the Noise Why So Many Predictions Fail but Some Don t is a book written by Nate
Silver an American statistician and writer who analyzes baseball and elections. The Signal and the
Noise was published on September 27, 2012 in the United States after its first week in print it reached
the New York Times Best Sellers list as No. 12 for non fiction hardback books. The Signal and the
Noise opens with an Introduction that looks at the rise of information availability over the past several
centuries. It notes that though the increasing levels of information has lead to advantages in many

In this chapter he talks about the swine flu epidemics of the late seventies and of 2009 serve as an
example of how extrapolation can lead to improper predictions, particularly if you assume that things
will keep proceeding as they have in the recent past. It notes that self fulfilling and self canceling
prophecies complicate the process of determining the future, by altering which directions the given
traits proceed and altering their progress. The efforts to change the progress of certain events, helping
the good and thwarting the bad, mean that many traits change their course from their initial progress
(as when the swine flu outbreaks were stopped shortly after starting). Self fulfilling predictions can be
caused by the sheer act of releasing the prediction. For example, when news about H1N1 flu is
broadcast, more people go to doctors and more H1N1 is identified. Self cancelling predictions can also
occur. Navigation systems show where the least traffic is but simultaneously invalidate the route by
sending all traffic there en masse. Chapter 7 deals with the dangers of extrapolation and overly
simplistic assumptions, using misfiring flu predictions as an example. Also discussed here are self
fulfilling and self cancelling predictions. Often the very act of prediction can alter the way people
behave (an observation that also John Adams makes with regard to risk a form of prediction, of course

Education In The Middle Ages Essay
Education is the reason the world is filled with doctors, lawyers, policemen, accountants, and all the
other occupations that fuel modern society. In 1330, only five percent of the English population was
capable of reading and writing (Simkin). By 1500, sixty four Universities had been established in
Europe (McKitterick 152). William I, Duke of Normandy, gained control over England after he
conquered Harold at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Very few English citizens were educated at the
time; the only people who possessed academic knowledge were part of the church. Medieval England
developed at a rapid pace. Due to this growth, the need for education was urgent (Trueman). One can
better understand the role of education by examining its historical roots.
School in the Middle Ages relied on nature: it began at sunrise and ended at sunset and the breaks
were based on when families needed their children in the fields ( Not what it used ). The school
buildings consisted of one room where the boys studied with their teacher, who ordinarily had
previous religious experience. If a mistake was made during the memorization process, the teacher
would harshly slap the student s back side. No mistake would be made twice because of the memory
of the horrible pain inflicted on the student (Trueman). Although the students who attended school
were generally wealthy, students sat on the floor, utilizing a bone or an ivory stylus to write. The
students took notes on wax coated wooden blocks

Terry Tempest Williams Refuge
If we bemoan the loss of light as the day changes to night we miss the sunset. In her memoirs Refuge,
Terry Tempest Williams relates the circumstances surrounding the 1982 rise in the Great Salt Lake as
well as her mother s death from cancer. Throughout the book Williams gets so caught up in preventing
her mother s death that she risks missing the sunset of her mother s life. However the Sevier Fremont s
adaptability to changes in nature inspires Terry Tempest Williams to re evaluate her response to
changes in her life.

In a sense both Williams and the Sevier Fremont come of age after the rise in the lake. Furthermore
their very existence is threatened by foreign elements.
However the differences between the Sevier Fremont and Williams reside in their way of living. For
both, their existence or way of living is synonymous with their relationship to nature. The Great Basin
was the womb in which the Sevier Fremont developed. However the umbilical cord was never severed
as the shores of the Great Salt Lake became their lifeline, their life support. Williams history and
current relationships with her family speak of close ties with nature. Her Mormon ancestors believed
that the Great Basin was the Promised Land. They carved out a life for themselves amid the land s
hostility, declaring it sacred. The basin remains sacred to Williams in many respects. From bird
watching and astrology with her mother and grandmother, to marriage maintenance with her husband
Brooke, the majority of the familial activities Williams describes have an outdoor element.

After reviewing the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Supplemental Compliance Guidelines for
Hospitals I have found that there is great purpose for a compliance document in a healthcare facility.
The purpose of this document in a healthcare facility is to be able to act as a guideline for healthcare
facilities to consider, develop, and implement a compliance plan that meets federal regulations.
Healthcare facilities have these compliance documents to help to cover and verify all that all services
ordered for a patient were reasonable and necessary services for the patient to be treated accordingly
and without fail. These compliance documents need to be retained to reflect that the healthcare facility

What Is John Steinbeck s Message In Of Mice And Men
During the early years of the Great Depression, hundreds of thousands of American workers became
out of work and began to travel across the country, in search of work, and the fabled American Dream.
John Steinbeck s novel, Of Mice and Men, a historical fiction piece, follows the struggles of two such
American workers, on their journey through the tumultuous era of the Great Depression. However the
novel s message comes from the struggles of the two main characters, George and Lenny, and the
actions they must take to overcome the obstacles in front of them. Steinbeck s purpose for writing the
novel was to express his views on the American Dream and express his experiences through the
characters he creates. The messages that Steinbeck conveys through his novel are how impossible it
truly is to achieve the American Dream, and how it is the nature of man to prey on the weak; this
message adding to the impossibility of the American dream, men making it impossible for their fellow
man to succeed.
As Steinbeck writes the novel, he imbues the story, with his own personal knowledge of the times, as
much of the fictional setting comes from his own experiences supporting himself as a laborer in
California, struggling to achieve his own American Dream. While the American Dream ... Show more

Analysis Of Truman Capote s Cold Blood
Imagine two people, both the same race, both the same gender, and they both committed the same
crime. The two people are on trial for their crime, but instead of getting the same punishment, one gets
the death penalty while the other gets 15 years. To think that the outcome should be the same, however
there are more than one factors that play into a person receiving the death penalty and they are not
always considered fair. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, displays a situation where Perry Smith
commits a violent crime, and is charged with the death penalty instead of serving years in prison.
Some might argue that his crime was vicious enough for him to receive death, but who gave them the

He couldn t control what environment he was raised in therefore killing him without taking his
upbringing into consideration, would be injustice and judging him on the wrong accounts.
Dr. Jones also discussed about Perry s inability to receive an education. Perry uses a wide range of
vocabulary that displays his high intelligence. Although he is above ordinary, he was never able to get
proper education. As Perry expresses, the man I could have been! But that bastard never gave me a
chance. He wouldn t let me go to school....But no education, because he didn t want me to learn
anything, only how to tote and carry for him. Dumb. That s the way he wanted me to be. So that I

one of you got an education. Everybody but me. And I hate you, all of you Dad and everybody.
(Capote 115) Perry voices his anger for not being able to get an education and resentment towards his
father for not giving him an opportunity to get education. He also spiteful towards his siblings who
were able to receive some sort of education. Perry held the hatred against his father and everyone, all
his life. Fundamentally, he became angry which resulted in him making decisions, out of rage, that he
later regrets, like the murder of the Clutter family. Dr. Jones, in his evaluation, describes Perry s anger
by saying, Akin

Professionalism is the competence expected of an individual to properly execute given tasks. In dance,
it is important to introduce respect, organization, and focus as the essentials of a performer.
Establishing professional methods in class will assist others in distinguishing your dedication and
commitment to the artform. Practicing professionalism in daily performance leads to improved
performance in the future because of repetitive conduct during classes. If a dancer consistently puts
forth the effort to work hard and focus in class, they are more likely to adopt these concepts into their

Satire In Greek Comedy
Satirical methods have been introduced since the beginning of history as a form of entertainment and a
way to get a message across. This is demonstrated through Greek comedies in particular. Greek
comedies were typically written to address the common people of that area through actions and words
that they would find humorous. Not much has changed today. Comedy and satirical methods are still
present and continue to hold a place in current society. The Acharnians is a clear example of an
ancient Greek play that uses satire to relay a message, and The Word: Armistice is a news broadcast
that plays as evidence that satirical methods used in the past are still present today. Both hold many
similarities, and their differences reveal how much society and satire have changed throughout the
years. The Acharnians is a satirical, ancient Greek play by playwright Aristophanes demonstrating a
main theme of peace. The play is set during the Peloponnesian war which was primarily fought
between Sparta and Athens. Dicaeopolis, the protagonist of the play who yearns for peace, impatiently
waits for an assembly to begin and will only stand for speeches that speak of creating peace. However,
the general assembly and Athenians are not interested in creating peace. At the assembly, Dicaeopolis
meets Amphitheus who claims to be an immortal god. Amphitheus gives him a private peace treaty
with Sparta in exchange for eight drachmas. Throughout the play, Dicaepolis is showered with
luxurious belongings due to private trade with the enemies of Athens while Lamachus, a belligerent
war hero, is living in terrible conditions due to war. Dicaepolis convinces the chorus, or common
people of the play that maybe war isn t worth the suffering it brings and that Athenians share more
similarities with the people of Sparta than originally thought of. As a result of this, Dicaepolis is
celebrated as a hero at the end of the play. Playwright Aristophanes uses a series of satirical methods
to present his theme of peace throughout The Acharnians. He makes fun of the citizens of Athens and
the Athenian government for their pugnacious methods in war with Sparta and other nations. War
gives them nothing but starvation, poverty, and death on both

Symbolism In The Tell Tale Heart And The Tell Tale Heart
How does the symbolism affect the meaning of a written piece, does it make it more or less important?
Symbolism is used to represent ideas; that may imply deeper, hidden meaning than what the text
directly states. Symbolism can be used in different ways throughout different books; for example, The
Tell Tale Heart , by Edgar Allen Poe and Once upon a Time , by Nadine Gordimer, contain a variety of
symbolism that have the possibility of having two or more meanings. The problem with this is
identifying what the text could really mean, and how that changes the story. How does comparing the
use of symbolism in both stories and showing the difference in the stories direct text and length, with
and without the implied symbolism, answer the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has the old man murdered in his personal bedroom in his bed as the killer s weapon. Symbolism in
this work of literature is highly important; without it the story would be a slightly confusing, shown in
the ending of the story when the murder hears the heartbeat, getting louder and louder, but nobody
else can hear it and then admits his guilt attempting to stop the sound, metaphorically saying that the
guilt (represented by the heart) he carried with him after murdering the old man grew and grew as if it
was going to burst out of him, leading him to confess so his subconscious (also represented by the
heart ) would be put at ease. Evident by the following quote, Villains! I shrieked , dissemble no more!I
admit the deed! tear up the planks! here, here! It is the beating of his hideous heart! . Without the use
of symbolism in these quotes, the meaning of the quotes and the rest of the piece would mean
something completely different; Similar to what would happen in, Once Upon a Time by Nadine
Gordimer, if you took out the symbolic pieces and read it specifically as it was written. Like in Poe s
previously stated piece, Once Upon a Time , by Nadine Gordimer is mostly made up of symbolism
due to the fact that the story takes place

  • 2. The Mexican-American Revolution Summary Scholars are quick to neglect the beginning of the fight when discussing the Mexican American struggle for justice. People claim that the first major rumblings...were heard in California in 1967, citing radicalization in universities (Rosales 175). However, they blatantly disregard the foundation for the movement as whole. The beginning of the 20th century Mexican American revolution dates back at least to depression era America, starting with the case Alvarez vs Lemon Grove, a monumental decision prohibiting de jure segregation of Mexican Americans in public school and followed by multiple other lawsuits similarly challenging segregation and discrimination (Castro). Rosales s reading does however differentiate these cases as well as early ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Effects of Genetic and Environmental Factors on Type 1... The Effects of Genetic and Environmental Factors on Type 1 Diabetes Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disorder, in which the pancreas does not produce insulin. It usually begins in childhood or adolescence. In Type 1 diabetes, the body s immune system destroys beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that converts sugar, starches, and food into energy. Without insulin, blood glucose levels become too high, which is known as hyperglycemia. To prevent hyperglycemia, people with Type 1 diabetes must take insulin daily to survive. Genetic and environmental factors affect the onset of Type 1 diabetes. [1] According to the American Diabetes Association, a predisposition to Type 1 diabetes is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The research on the affect of viruses in triggering Type 1 diabetes is inconclusive, and some is even contradictory. Some researchers have also found that viruses may prevent Type 1 diabetes. Scientists at Joslin Diabetes Center add trauma as a potential trigger of Type 1 diabetes. A traumatic event, such as a body trauma or a car crash, increases the body s insulin requirement and strains the pancreas. [5] Dr. James H. Warram at the Joslin Diabetes Center concluded that the trauma does not cause diabetes, but it can trigger the onset of the disease. Another possible environmental cause of Type 1 diabetes is early diet. Breastfeeding for at least three months has shown to decrease the risk of Type 1 diabetes, and a diet including cow s milk before the age of one year old may increase the risk of diabetes. The American Diabetes Association reports that the onset of Type 1 diabetes occurs more often in winter than in summer. It is also more prevalent in cold climates. This leads researchers to conclude that cold weather may be a possible trigger of Type 1 diabetes, as well. [6] Dr. Andrew Weil (2014) explains that in addition, Weather has an impact on eating and exercise habits, which can in turn influence how well you re able to control your blood sugar. (drweil.com, 2014) The phenotype for Type 1 diabetes includes the presence of autoantibodies in the body. [7] These autoantibodies prevent the pancreas from adequately ... • 6. Exxon Bligh Reef In 1989 the oil tanker Exxon Valdez ran aground on Bligh Reef located off the coast of Alaska. The Exxon Valdez spilled thousands of barrels of oil into Prince William Sound, which was the biggest oil spill to date. Thousands of animals and hundreds of thousands of birds died in the days immediately after the spill. The fishing and tourism industries suffered losses estimated in the millions of dollars (Loeb McCall, 2008). The incident was investigated thoroughly and legal cases were pursued against ExxonMobile. There were several parts to this case. Parts of the case were not disputed and understood as proper protocol, this included why the ship went off path into the Bligh Reef area (Loeb McCall, 2008). The ship had recognized icebergs and had notified the coastal guard of their new intended path in order to avoid the icebergs (Loeb McCall, 2008). The point that was disputed was the condition of Captain Hazelwood during the route change. Exxon appeared to respond to the situation in the form of compensating each claim in the total sum of upward to 2 billion dollars (Loeb McCall, 2008). Their ethical implications at the time were admitting fault, paying for all cleanup, and deploying their own people to help clean up the spill. The main ethical implication that faced Exxon was their decision to allow their Captain to maintain his position even with their knowledge of his substance abuse. Many argue that this incident could have been avoided if Exxon would have removed the Captain from his post or had him switch to a position where safety is a main focus. Another ethical concern was Exxon fighting the decision punitive damage amounts in court. Exxon beliwved the amounts should be lowered. • 8. Censorship In Children s Literature Censorship In Children s Literature Euphemism, a form of indirect censorship, is often used to substitute certain phrases in order to soften their influence. The word dead becomes passed away , one who was once disabled is now physically impaired , and what used to be considered firing a worker , is called employee termination . These euphemisms are used to protect their audience from the reality, and although they sometimes serve to censor people from the truth, they ineffectively protect children from explicit content in many forms of literature. Despite the fact that And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, and Charlotte s Web by E.B. White are excellent children novels that teach meaningful lessons, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though the authors have tried to dampen the plot with the use of euphemisms, society feels that stories, such as Richardson and Parnell s picture books, require further censorship. The authors of And Tango Makes Three fail to show the hardships of being openly gay, and therefore mislead young readers into thinking that it is as easy to be a homosexual in today s society as it is to be a heterosexual. Children are given false hope as to what life will be like in the future if they are to become homosexuals, and although it is certainly possible for a gay couple to live a simple life like Roy and Silo, the reality is that there will be many more struggles for them to be openly gay. Richardson and Parnell show Roy and Silo s struggles while they try to create a family as, Day after day Silo and Roy sat on the rock, (Richardson and Parnell, 17), hoping they would become like the other penguins in the zoo. However, this aspect of the story did not portray how difficult it can be in reality for a gay couple to form a family. It is said that Roy and Silo are, ...just like the other penguin couples, (Richardson and Parnell, 12), which does not accurately portray what life is like for homosexuals. The authors have created a perfect world for Roy and Silo, where the only difference between them and the other penguins is that they are unable to produce eggs themselves. Although this is a society that many dream of one that contains no discrimination against homosexuality many areas in the world have not yet reached this level of civility, which misleads children into thinking life as a homosexual will be as simple for them as it was for Roy and Silo. In addition, E.B. White fails to show the harsh actions that farmers typically take for animals that are considered to be useless. In reality, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well, it is obvious that knowing the range of your target is a huge benefit, especially when shooting long range and archery. The further out a shot is, the more the projectile will drop, but if you know your weapon and the distance to the target, you can effectively shoot at incredible distances. Here we will take a look at what you should look for in a rangefinder for hunting There are several things that you need to be aware of before you buy a rangefinder so that you can buy the best hunting rangefinder for your situation. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For most long range shooters, you will want a rangefinder good for over 1,000 yards. Even if you are an archery shooter you will want a high maximum range. Even if you will not use the long range for hunting or shooting, it is still fun to use. Not to mention, most models these days have maximum ranges of 1,000 yards or better. Even though a hunting range finder might have a maximum range of 1200 yards for instance, it is important to remember that this number is only accurate in the most ideal conditions. Most maximum ranges are calculated on a large reflective surface in the perfect weather conditions, which is not typical of a hunting situation. On deer sized animals with typical conditions you are normally good out to about 75% of the stated range. That being said, higher quality hunting rangefinders will live up to their stated maximum range much more than the cheaper ones will. Yet another reason to go with the best you can afford. Angle ... Neither type of ensemble has a specific name, however, they can be easily differentiated by the different types of instruments they use. One type of ensemble consists mainly of string and melodic percussion instruments (Morton, 1976). This same ensemble is responsible for providing music for plays and other stage acts. The most well known style of music that the string and melodic percussion ensembles would perform is Pi phat. This expression of music is distinguishable by its fast, flashy tempo and unique instruments ( Music of Thailand , 2013). The origin of xylophones can be traced back to Africa and several early Asian civilizations, but it is has a Greek name that means wood sound ( Percussion Instruments , 2015). It was greatly used in Thailand in folk music and traditional Thai music. Both traditional and folk Thai music share similar characteristics; both use some of the same melodic percussion instruments, and among these instruments are xylophones. Xylophones are melodic percussion instruments that consist of a series of wooden bars graduated in length to produce the musical scale, supported by belts of straw or felt ( Xylophone , Merriam Webster). These instruments are traditionally played by striking the wooden bars with two small wooden hammers. In modern times, xylophones are used in ensembles around the world. A modern xylophone has its wooden bars, or keys, arranged like the keys of the piano and attached to the bottom of the wooden bars are metal tubes called resonators, where the sound vibrates. The resonators gives the xylophone its bright, bell like sound ( Percussion Instruments , 2015). It is considered to have a soprano pitch due to its shrill sound. In orchestras, xylophones are played with four mallets instead of the traditional two mallet method (Cherrett, 2011). They are also played using mallets of other materials rather than the traditional wooden hammers. Xylophones can be played with mallets of different hardnesses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The Stories Of Cinderella, Snow White, And Sleeping Beauty Most of us grew up watching and reading the stories of Cinderella, Snow White and, Sleeping Beauty all of which were produced by Disney. But what if I told you that the versions you grew up watching and reading are far from the original versions depicted by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, better known as the Brothers Grimm. In their tale of Cinderella there was no fairy godmother, the step sisters cut off portions of their feet to fit into the slipper and none of the animals talked or sang, but rather plucked out the step sister s eyes as punishment for the mistreatment of Cinderella. Which begs the question, what inspired the brother s to write these types short stories, which are so not what is recognized today as a fairy tale ? The rags to riches tale of Cinderella (the Brothers Grimm version) the maiden later known as Cinderella goes from a beloved and cherished daughter, to a household slave after the death of her mother and father s remarriage to a cruel step mother and two heartless step sisters. • 14. The Characteristics Of Military Warfare During The... Due to the lack of better tactics, 4,435 soldiers were killed from battle wounds during the American Revolution. The most common tactic during the American Revolution was line infantry, which was no longer a viable tactic to use in future battles due to many deaths, and how it ultimately let the larger army be victorious. This lead to new tactics specifically trench warfare which was first used during the American Revolution and has now become the most used tactic in war, especially during the world wars. There was another form of fighting called guerrilla warfare which was important for the colonists to defeat the British because they knew the area much better than the British and could get the upper hand. These military tactics used by the colonists in the American Revolution laid down the foundation for advancement in tactical warfare. Line infantry helped at the time due to the weapons used then, but in modern combat, the tactic has become obsolete. During the American Revolution, weapons were not reliable or advanced enough to be used in quick combat where targets could be moving. The first firearm to be used in the American Revolution was the Brown Bess musket and weighed around 10.5 pounds, and was most effective within 50 yards, but could be used by a skilled musketeer up to 175 yards. It took a long amount of time for the musketeer to reload the weapon if once it was fired. A rifleman could shoot up to 2 5 rounds per minute, leaving them vulnerable to rush attacks. ... • 16. Millions Danny Hales Essay In the film, Millions, directed by Danny Boyle, a compelling character who intrigues me is the antagonistic Anthony Cunningham. I find his complex character interesting as he is still grieving for his mother s tragic death whilst managing to use her death to his advantage. Also, his way of thinking and dealing with the money is very different to from many other kids his age would do. His way of thinking has a powerful awareness of right from wrong but throughout the movie he gets it jumbled up a bit... The film is set during the changing of all European currencies to a single currency the Euro. Due to this, we can see that money is going to take a significant role in the film. Anthony (along with his family) are dealing with the repercussion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Anthony is still struggling within the stages of grief and is trying hard to mask it. The director shows this in the opening scene, the two boys delightedly lay down next to each other after riding their bikes. As the two brothers lay down next to each other, we can see that Damian is wearing a blue shirt which can often be interpreted as sorrow or calmness. While Anthony is wearing a red jacket which is normally deciphered as hatred or anger. However under Anthony s red jacket, we can see that he is also wearing a blue shirt. The director s purpose of doing this is to foreshadow that Anthony is using ignorance to mask his misery and woe. The director shows us that Anthony disguises his sadness with annoyance towards the end of the movie when Damian brings Dorothy into their house. This is shown because we can see Anthony thinking that she is there to replace their mother. Due to this, we see him whispering a angry hushed tone Is that what you want? Her in there with him, instead of Mum? . Personally, this is quite understandable because I know that it is extremely difficult to be going through the stages of grief after someone who is close to you s death. This could link back to my first paragraph Anthony wants to keep a close relationship with Damian by trying to set a good example by moving on. It shows the efficiency with which all inputs are used in a production function and is defined as the measure of increase in output not due to different input choices but due to increase in marginal products of factors of production. TFP= %∆ in total output α* %∆ in capital (1 α)* %∆ in labour engaged Purpose: TFP measurement helps unravel the direct growth contributions of labour, capital, intermediate inputs and technology. This is an important tool for reviewing past growth patterns and for assessing the potential for future economic growth. Advantages: Total factor productivity tries to capture the efficiency with which inputs of capital as well as labour are used. If workers are given better machines and equipment, this will automatically boost output per man hour, even if there is no gain in overall economic efficiency once the extra capital spending is taken into account. The battle of equal right in many aspects for gay and lesbian couples have been going on for years, and although significant progress has been made, there are many aspects within their relationships that are not yet equal to heterosexual couples in similar situations. Gay and lesbian couples have to deal with daily discrimination within issues such as marriage, legal issues, medical issues, and mamy forms for homophobia. Adoption has been a big question and fight for gay and lesbian couples for many years, one that is still being found today. Questions of whether or not a gay or lesbian couple can properly raise a healthy child, if the child s psychological development would be compromised, any many other arguments have been proposed in disapproval of adoption for these couples. Adoption is a tedious process for a heterosexual married couple and the challenges and hoops needed to be jumped through to finalize the process can be even more difficult for homosexual couples and single gay or lesbian individuals. Gay and lesbian couples have faced many challenges through the course of time, and adoption is just another part of that challenge. Just as it is legal for men and women of the same sex to marry, so is adopting a child. However, there is great prejudice over the issue and the power of opinion often stunts, and sometimes terminates, the couples process and success of being able to adopt a child of their own all because of the judges, biological parents, or spectators personal opinions. Although this sounded good to both the colonies and Britain at first, the Continentals soon changed their minds. The colonists broke away from British rule mainly because of implementation of the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, Tea Act, and the Intolerable Acts; all of which were imposed by Parliament. In 1776, Parliament passed the Sugar Act. The act increased the prices on all sugars that the colonies used. The profits from it went directly to Britain to pay for the French and Indian War debt. This upset the colonists because they were previously told that they would not have to pay for any of the war, then the King of England imposed this tax on them anyway. This began the colonists anger toward Britain. The Stamp Act was passed in 1765, it required the colonists to pay a tax on any printed paper goods that they used, and they had to have a stamp on them proving that the tax was paid. This was the first direct tax imposed on individual colonists. All of the proceeds went toward British soldiers, which did not benefit the colonists at all. In this chapter he talks about the swine flu epidemics of the late seventies and of 2009 serve as an example of how extrapolation can lead to improper predictions, particularly if you assume that things will keep proceeding as they have in the recent past. It notes that self fulfilling and self canceling prophecies complicate the process of determining the future, by altering which directions the given traits proceed and altering their progress. The efforts to change the progress of certain events, helping the good and thwarting the bad, mean that many traits change their course from their initial progress (as when the swine flu outbreaks were stopped shortly after starting). Self fulfilling predictions can be caused by the sheer act of releasing the prediction. For example, when news about H1N1 flu is broadcast, more people go to doctors and more H1N1 is identified. Self cancelling predictions can also occur. Navigation systems show where the least traffic is but simultaneously invalidate the route by sending all traffic there en masse. Chapter 7 deals with the dangers of extrapolation and overly simplistic assumptions, using misfiring flu predictions as an example. Also discussed here are self fulfilling and self cancelling predictions. • 27. Education In The Middle Ages Essay Education is the reason the world is filled with doctors, lawyers, policemen, accountants, and all the other occupations that fuel modern society. In 1330, only five percent of the English population was capable of reading and writing (Simkin). By 1500, sixty four Universities had been established in Europe (McKitterick 152). William I, Duke of Normandy, gained control over England after he conquered Harold at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Very few English citizens were educated at the time; the only people who possessed academic knowledge were part of the church. Medieval England developed at a rapid pace. Due to this growth, the need for education was urgent (Trueman). One can better understand the role of education by examining its historical roots. School in the Middle Ages relied on nature: it began at sunrise and ended at sunset and the breaks were based on when families needed their children in the fields ( Not what it used ). The school buildings consisted of one room where the boys studied with their teacher, who ordinarily had previous religious experience. If a mistake was made during the memorization process, the teacher would harshly slap the student s back side. No mistake would be made twice because of the memory of the horrible pain inflicted on the student (Trueman). • 35. Satire In Greek Comedy Satirical methods have been introduced since the beginning of history as a form of entertainment and a way to get a message across. This is demonstrated through Greek comedies in particular. Greek comedies were typically written to address the common people of that area through actions and words that they would find humorous. Not much has changed today. Comedy and satirical methods are still present and continue to hold a place in current society. The Acharnians is a clear example of an ancient Greek play that uses satire to relay a message, and The Word: Armistice is a news broadcast that plays as evidence that satirical methods used in the past are still present today. Both hold many similarities, and their differences reveal how much society and satire have changed throughout the years. The Acharnians is a satirical, ancient Greek play by playwright Aristophanes demonstrating a main theme of peace. The play is set during the Peloponnesian war which was primarily fought between Sparta and Athens. Dicaeopolis, the protagonist of the play who yearns for peace, impatiently waits for an assembly to begin and will only stand for speeches that speak of creating peace. However, the general assembly and Athenians are not interested in creating peace. At the assembly, Dicaeopolis meets Amphitheus who claims to be an immortal god. Amphitheus gives him a private peace treaty with Sparta in exchange for eight drachmas. Throughout the play, Dicaepolis is showered with luxurious belongings due to private trade with the enemies of Athens while Lamachus, a belligerent war hero, is living in terrible conditions due to war. Dicaepolis convinces the chorus, or common people of the play that maybe war isn t worth the suffering it brings and that Athenians share more similarities with the people of Sparta than originally thought of. As a result of this, Dicaepolis is celebrated as a hero at the end of the play. Playwright Aristophanes uses a series of satirical methods to present his theme of peace throughout The Acharnians.
