As soon as the Baking 1 is finished we have an empty try that can be dished up for the succeeding
baking. If we have one extra tray there will be no use of it.
Question 6 From this chart we can see that if we had an additional oven we could have filled a two
dozen order in 28 minutes which is 8 minutes less than having 1 oven. Valuable time (For two dozens
of cookies, 2 ovens)
Activity Kristen per dozen Roommate per dozen
Wash the bowl, add and mix ingredients 6 minutes X

It will be more profitable to have a second oven because it does not add any working time but
decreases the time needed to prepare 2 or more dozens of cookies. If Kristen and her roommate had
second oven they could have doubles number of orders per day. The difference is a cost they are
willing to pay for the rent of second

Rhetorical Analysis Of President Obama s Inauguration Speech
The Inauguration address is made by the newly sworn in President of the United States every four
years. This custom started, by our nation s first President George Washington, in 1789 (President).
Every President since Washington has given this speech. Presidents utilize this to bestow their plan in
the forthcoming years of the United States and ambitions for America. This is utmost one of the most
important days in the History of America as it signaled the birth of a new nation. In today s context it
signals a peaceful exchange of power in the most disruptive of times. The speech is primarily given
out to the citizens of the United States, who need to know what the future holds for them; Now in a
world of globalization and foreign policy this speech is paid attention to throughout the world. All
Inaugural addresses are similar. First they start with their greeting, then examine the state of the
nation, the newly elected President presents the issues of the country and the plan to solve them. After
the President draws upon powerful lessons and rhetoric to bring inspiration to the American people
and finally closes off to end the address. President Obama was no stranger to that as he has done that,
like every President before him, not once but twice, in 2009 and 2013. Using rhetoric, President
Obama grasps the attention and impacts audiences listening and watching all over the world in 2013.
The three rhetorical devices President Obama uses are: symbolism, anaphora, and

Given financial scandals and the resulting new mandates on business, firms find themselves pressed to
develop strong codes of ethics to guide the behavior of board members, managers, and employees.
Although the concern with ethics has always been a part of doing business, business leaders today are
beginning to think about ethics as a set of principles and guides of behavior rather than a set of rigid
rules. In this sense, business ethics is not only an attempt to set a standard by ... Show more content on

International Journal Of Strategic Communication
When looking at big brands and companies, such as fast food industries, one can think of a couple of
favorite go to places. Places like these have strong marketing strategies to get customers to keep
coming back for more and become favorable to the public. It is in the hands of public relations to
handle a company s brand image to get people hooked to a business s products and to keep a positive
relationship with its consumers. On the other hand, it is also the duty of public relations to handle the
company s image when it is ruined or in a crisis. One example of a company that has a great brand
image, but also dealt with a crisis is Chipotle and it s E. coli crisis. If it wasn t for Chipotle s powerful
public image and integrity towards its customers when in crisis, the business would ve shut down
completely. In this scenario, the power of public relations was Chipotle s hero.
In the scholarly journal, International Journal of Strategic Communication, a particular article called,
Communicating Corporate Social Responsibility and Brand Sincerity: A Case Study of Chipotle
Mexican Grill s Food with Integrity Program by Matthew W. Ragas and Marilyn S. Roberts and the
trade article, Chipotle, Edelman Split amid E. coli Crisis both portray the power of public relations
within the brand, Chipotle in good and bad times. Both articles look at the pathos, ethos, and logos to
explain why the use of public relations was so powerful for the company. In the article,

Roxy Paine, Conjoined Essay
The piece of art that I have chosen is Roxy Paine s Conjoined created in 2007. This is a
representational piece depicting a pair of trees taken from nature and joined by their branches. The
trees themselves are cylindrical, smooth and shiny from all angles. They reflect light from all sides
creating a mirror like appearance.
The branches initially flow upward but then gradually flow into the middle where they are conjoined.
They are located in Madison Square Park where they seem to blend in with the rest of the trees but
they definitely manage to stand out. Because they serve no function other than visual I consider this
sculpture to be fine art.
Roxy Paine welds cylindrical stainless steel pipes and rods to form and shape these two ... Show more

Stainless steel is more expensive than standard steel. Paine has studied and observed they way trees
grow and this has allowed him to form his own artistic rendition.
Paine uses the visual element of Direction and Movement to make the trees appear like they are
growing into each other or being pulled apart. The branches are tapering at the tips and flowing to the
side almost like a windstorm is blowing them over. Looking at the trees you get a real sense of
struggle between forces. They look like they are pulling apart but at the same time trying to overtake
one another.
He also uses the visual element of Shape and Mass. The trees are 3D representation of actual trees.
They are over 40 foot tall and very heavy; therefore they consume a large amount of volume and
mass. The trees appear to be constructed from geometric shapes but also try to follow the form of
nature in a more organic way.
Since the two trees are a sculpture they are naturally 3D but their reflection caused by light shining on
the stainless steel reminds us of their intricate details. The trees have a very strong gray
monochromatic earth tone caused by the steel.
A Principle of Design that Paine emphasizes is Unity. The trees are conjoined, rendering them as one,
as a whole, they are in unison. The trees appear to be to scale when compared to the other trees in the
park. They are not too small nor do the feel out of place. There is a strong emphasis near the middle of

William Paley s Argument From Design
Argument from Design In the Argument from Design article by William Paley, he begins the argument
by describing the mechanisms of a watch. These parts all combine in a certain way to make the watch
work, or even exist. If these parts were not combined in the exact order, the watch would not do
anything profound. Paley further describes how an observer could conceive the watch in the mind. He
would then reflect, in some sense, how the watch was made independently. It was not brought into
existence by other watches, but only by a creator combining different items together. There is the idea
of metallic nature, but assuming a law also assumes a lawgiver. Therefore, there must be some sort of
creator of the watch, even though the creator is unknown. This same concept could be applied to the
universe, stating that there must be a creator that made these elaborate ... Show more content on

Even if people were unaware of the person who made the watch, ignorance is not an excuse for not
giving credit to the artist. An objection to his argument is that some of the parts seem to have no
function, so they were not designed. Paley states there may be a function of these parts that we are
unable to see or understand. The design is evident from examining the rest of the watch. The machine
does not have to be perfect in order to understand the artist s design of the mechanism. For example, a
blueprint of a machine can show you the idea and purpose of the final results, even though all the parts
on the blueprint are not specifically described on why it exists. The design could not be a fault of
chance due to its complexity. The observer of the watch cannot be driven out of his conclusion, even
though he may know

Symbolism In Snowpiercer
In Snowpiercer fish are symbolic of life. Both the fish and the people are stuck on the train, the fish
cannot leave the aquarium as the people on the train are supposed to stay in their designated cars.
They both eat the same food that is designated to them day after day, for just enough nutrition to live.
As well as both the humans and the fish are closely monitored to ensure there is no overgrowth in
population. Curtis and the rest of the people included in the revolution make it far up the train, but in
one car, there is a small army of masked men with axes. Before the battle takes place, the masked men
pierce their axes through a fish, perhaps to intimidate the rebels, or to poison them with mercury from
the fish. It seems the strongest

Abrahamic Religion Essay
There are two broad categories of religions that people believe on and they include the Abrahamic
religion and Eastern religion. The two largest religious groups have some common beliefs and have
diverse different aspects of explaining life and the creator of the universe. The Abrahamic religion
includes Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. The Islamic religion is a common religion practiced by
Muslims all over the world. It subscribes to Allah teachings as professed by Prophet Muhammad (Ali,
2011). There have been times in Islamic history when men we counted as a superior creation as
compared to women. They were seen as lesser beings that have no social and human rights at all. They
were considered to serve as a means for men sexual gratification and the subservience. However,
things changed in the Arabic land in the past fourteen hundred years when Islam appeared.
Muhammad changed the position of women in the society and now it has improved tremendously
unlike in the pre Islamic period. Islam has worked on ensuring equality among the people is achieved.
This has seen the elimination of barriers that had been created by people that wanted to be seen as
superior and distinguished from others. The segregation of women in the society was synonymous
where they were seen as to be in different part of the society, without any living standards (Sharma,
2016). Good Muslim teaching has created a peaceful, coherent and balanced society that considers
women as an equal entity. It has

The Quaker Summary
The reading presents three hypotheses to explain the causes of the strange sounds known as The
Quaker . The lecture does not agree with the author. He cast doubt on several beliefs that are presented
in the text. To begin with, the reading avers that the Oscar Whales are one of the causes. The author
mentions that the patrolling area f the submarine is their inhabit. On contrary, the speaker reckons that
the suspected area was the whales inhabit, but it is not possible to record the sound from long distance.
As the whales stay near the surface of the water and the submarines swim near the surface of ocean.
He also points that the recorded sound presented that the source was near the submarine. Hence the
lecturer dismisses the reading claim.

The staffs of therapeutic communities mainly consist of former addicts and abusers, they know what
the addicts are going through and can knowledgeably help them through the struggle. There is a high
success rate for patients who do not stick with the program.
Chemical decency residential programs are a combination of hospitalization and a therapeutic
community. The programs are usually three to eight weeks in length and they are counseled by
recovering alcoholics with little formal training. These private pay programs are the most common
form of residential treatment although they are now reduced in number.
Medical assisted treatment is not nearly as popular as residential treatment, but it is beginning to play
a more important role in outpatient recovery. When using medication to aid recovery there are three
basic approaches to take: antagonism, substitution, or the use of a drug that is medically incompatible.
Antagonism requires total a blockage of the abused drug, while substitution allows the use of another
drug to reduce the craving for the abused drug. Giving an addict a drug that is medically incompatible
with the abused drug will cause them to become sick any time that they use the abused drug. Crisis

According to Maxwell and Knox (2009), academics and practitioners have extolled the potential
benefits of having a well managed cooperate brand. They have also acknowledged that corporate
branding brings new challenges that cannot be readily addressed within a traditional marketing
framework, including a need to ensure that employee behavior is consistently aligned with the
company s brand promise, but previous research has tended to focus on issues related to recruitment.
As a result, little is known about how employer branding can actually be used to support the corporate
brand. More specifically, researchers have yet to explain what makes an organization s employer
brand attractive to current employees (Maxwell Knox, 2009).
More specifically, theorists argue that a corporate brand should be closely aligned with the identity of
the organization. Corporate brand communications may include symbolism and conventional
communications such as advertising and PR. However, corporate branding also involves multiple
stakeholders interacting with numerous staff in multiple departments across an organization it
provides external stakeholders with information about the identity of the organization and if this

The Historical Context Of Esther s Esther
Esther is a book about a young, Jewish girl who found favor with King Ahasuerus and became queen
of Persia. The story begins with Vashti, who was queen before Esther. When the king requested that
Vashti come before the banquet he was throwing, she refused. This angered the king and she lost her
good standing. He also ordered that every woman should give honor to her husband. From here begins
the specific pericope discussed in this paper. Beginning at Esther 2:1, the king is convinced to bring
young virgins to him and choose the one that pleases him the most to take Vashti s place. The text
moves on to discuss how Mordecai came to be under Xerxes rule.
Now that the discussion of the summarized backstory to the verses deliberated in this paper ... Show

In reality, it is difficult to tie any of the stories in Esther to actual historical events. The Persian
Empire, for one, did not consist of 127 provinces; rather, it only had 20. There are no records of any
Persian king giving the order to kill off all of the Jewish population, nor of any Persian king giving the
order that the Jews could defend themselves. The sheer number of Persians killed in the Esther ,
75,000, is unlikely because there are no historical records of any slaughter that size (Harris 243). On
the other hand, scholars believe that the king portrayed in Esther is Xerxes I, so it is possible that at
least some of the information involved is based on truth (Harris 242). The knowledge that the author
portrays of Persian court and customs also lends to the belief that some of the information is true
(Harris 243). It is also possible that a Persian king had a woman of Jewish descent in his large harem ,
but it is unlikely that such a woman would have been his first wife (Harris 243). Scholars suggest that
Esther is, instead of a work of history, a work of historical fiction due to the balance of historical fact
and authorial flair (Leith

True Feelings in Billy Collins Taking Off Emily Dickinson s Clothes
Upon first look, Billy Collins Taking Off Emily Dickinson s Clothes seems to be a wild fantasy for
Emily Dickinson that he is entertaining. Upon closer examination, however, the poem reveals his
subconscious desire to have sex with his mother and his frustration about his inability to do so,
resulting in the displacement of his sexual desires onto Dickinson.
From the beginning, Collins is very detailed with his description. In fact he is quite anal retentive in
explaining everything about the encounter. He starts from her outside clothing, first, her tippet made
of tulle (1) and on through her mass of clothing until finally reaching her corset ... Show more content

The mother of pearl buttons on the back (7 8) of the dress can be seen as an unconscious Freudian slip
which reveals Collin s true sexual feelings toward his mother. He could have referred to the buttons as
any color, but he chooses to use the term mother of pearl (7). Collins then says that he buttons are so
tiny and numerous that it takes forever before [his] hands can part the fabric (9 10). He seems to be
very methodical in his act of undressing Dickinson. He is the one doing the undressing, he is the one
in charge, and it is he who is in control of every detail. The simile like a swimmer dividing the water,
and slip inside (11 12) might refer to Collins slipping into his unconscious and thinking about his
mother, forgetting about Dickinson.
The fourth stanza begins with the line You will want to know that she was standing by an open
window in an upstairs bedroom (13 15) This seems to be more of Collin s anal retentiveness trying to
prove that he is in control. Se is motionless, a little wide eyed (16), which demonstrates her innocence
and how helpless she seems to be in this whole situation. By her lack of participation and his over
zealous control, one would think that it is more of a rape than a sexual encounter. The phrase looking
out at the orchard below (17) seems to be a phallic symbol. Dickinson is

The Metropolitan Art Museum has a multitude of art galleries that hold a variety of art pieces that

Martin Luther s Disillusionment
Martin Luther is an extraordinary and revolutionary man who played a significant role in both the
Protestant Reformation and Christian history. He was a priest, theologian, professor, and composer. In
1510, Luther went to Rome for his monastic order. While at Rome, he noticed the immoral and
irreverent practices of the Roman Catholic clergy which contradicted the teachings of the Bible and
became disillusioned. The reasons for Luther s disillusionment were the careless attitude of the priests
when speaking Mass, the selling of indulgences, the response of the priests towards his Ninety five

Pine Tree Case Summary
Problem Statement
Pine Tree s Acquisition took an unsurprisingly approach, which stifled Erin Costa s abilities to
forecast their proprietorship with their newly acquired organic chain operations. Pine Tree s
bureaucratic control, interconnect both Pine Tree s and Organic s Food operations to assemble through
the newly acquisition operations to facilitate their inabilities to operate within an effective
management control/performance cycle(s).

Now, the downside with this acquisition, weigh in factors with the amount of store purchase

which you currently train your staff. On the opposing side, utilizing your current store mentors; will
bring forth expertise with the company s strategies, goals, and standards to accommodate your
organization s purpose. At this moment, this is where I visualize incorporating the Six Sigma program.
The Six Sigma program will strategically uniform your operations ability to effectively control and
manage Organic s Food chain acquisitions. In addition, Ms. Costa, I have reservations regarding the

SYNTHESIS OF TRANS 9 (2 PHENYLETHENYL) ANTHRACENE (A WITTIG REACTION)
Introduction:
The purpose of this experiment is to convert carbonyl compounds to alkenes using Wittig reaction. In
this case we will be synthesizing Trans 9 (2 phenylethenyl) anthracene from
benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride and 9 anthraldehyde. We will also aim to obtaining a high
percent yield and purity for the synthesis of Trans 9 (2 phenylethenyl) anthracene. The mechanism for
this reaction goes thus:
Experimental:
Benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride (0.201g) and 9 anthraldehyde (0.116g) were weighed and
added to a short neck round bottomed flask (5ml). Dichloromethane (2ml) was measured using a

observed a yellow residue in the bottom of the flask after the dichloromethane has been boiled off, and
2 propanol (3ml) was added to it and then was heated until the entire residue dissolved and the
solution was transferred to a clean Erlenmeyer flask.
After allowing the flask to cool to room temperature and cooling on ice, the product was collected and
washed with 2 propanol (2ml) into a clean Hirsch funnel and was filtered using vacuum filtration. The
triphenylphosphine oxide remained in the propanol solution, and the crystals were dried by drawing
air through them. The mass, percentage yield and melting point of the product was obtained. The
crystals were stored in a glass vial for next experiment.

Opposing Viewpoints In Schools
Held Back: A look at American Schooling
Knowledge is arguably the World s most valuable resource; without it the human race would be in the
darkness, surrounded by predators and savages. However, the Human race has never been keen to
have its final moments in the dark. Humans produced fire, managed to capture it in glass, built cities
fueled by it and have fought wars over the right to stand in its light. With that in mind, the education
of all Humans is not a task to be taken lightly. The United States has set up countless systems,
facilities, and programs: billions of dollars spent on the ideals of learning and progress. So why is one

Native American Artifact
An artifact has been found that pushes the timeline of the arrival of Native Americans in North
Carolina back 4,000 years. Kaisar Porris, 1 Eno Blvd. in rural Orange County, has been a river
scavenger for 45 years. Last March he found a dugout sticking out of the Eno River after a heavy rain.
A dugout is a canoe made out of a hollowed tree trunk. River scavenging is usually used to find items
that can be used or sold for profit; however, Porris was particularly interested in archeology. Porris
contacted Kevin Bystryski, 39, professor of classics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The dugout was taken to UNC Chapel Hill and then moved to the North Carolina Museum of History
in Raleigh. The dugout has remained in the

Summary Of The Short Story Of The Wavemaker Hass
Connor Wilkinson Allegra Villarreal, Instructor ENGL 1302 17 November 2017 George Saunders,
throughout his collection of short stories, CivilWarLand in Bad Decline, explores the lives of fictional
characters through episodes of economic hardship, love lost, death, and disillusionment with the
powers in place. He presents his ideas in a demented and dark way hoping to capture the reader s
attention to our own world around us. In Offloading for Mrs. Schwartz , the narrator and main
character runs a virtual reality store that makes it possible to erase memories through offloading and
the resulting memory modules can serve as entertainment for others. Throughout the story, the narrator
is filled with grief and guilt over the death of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both stories are set in a sort of futuristic setting, one with in a theme park and one in a virtual reality
store yet both deal with the everyday life of both narrators. There is a constant sense of loathing and
self despair by the narrators in both stories. In Offloading , the narrator works a dreary dead end job at
a virtual reality store while he deals with the death of this wife. In Wavemaker , the narrator works at a
menial job in a theme park, having to deal with his wife having an affair with his boss and the death at
his hands of a young park visitor. You can see the depth of failure and misery in both narrators which
is evident by the lack of any apparent societal status and the menial jobs they hang on to for their
meager existence. Both narrators are stuck in their despair over the death of someone in their life and
we see them both struggling to fight and move forward with their lives. George Saunders typically
writes in a dark tone with a hint of humor and satire with a futuristic setting which in disguise is really
a critique on modern day times, a sort of what if scenario about the future. He s a savage satirist with a
sentimental streak who delineates, in these pages, the dark underbelly of the American dream: the
losses, delusions and terrors suffered by the lonely, the disenfranchised, the downtrodden and the

Phone Records Between 1970 And 1970
Telephone is a telecommunications device used to communicate between two or more people in any
distance. Primarily telephones were used only for communication purposes but today telephones are
as powerful and useful as computers are. With the evolution of phones, many things have changed
which includes phone records. In past, phone records involved only phone numbers but today there is
so many data and information on phones. These records include phone numbers, bank information,
personal pictures and videos, location and text messages. These records are often used by law
enforcers to investigate crimes by gathering information from phone records. Since 1970 many things
has changed. This paper examines the technological differences between phone records in the 1970
and smartphones, privacy and how courts affect the technology. In past law enforcers could pull phone
information without probable cause which means telecommunications industry used to be more
cooperative with law enforcement. But now there have been many changes. Knutson, Gryta, Barrett
(2014) write on the article that AT T Inc. said federal investigators might need a warrant to gather data
about cellphone user s location, challenging the more permissive legal framework the government has
used for year. This means law enforcers will need probable cause to get warrant from a judge before
pulling phone records from carriers like AT T. Although phone records helps to locate suspects and
gather evidences, pulling

Taylor Swift And Harris Research Paper
On Tuesday night, the American singer songwriter and actress behind the hit song Bad Blood Taylor
Swift and Calvin Harris (the Scottish DJ, singer, record producer and remixer) managed to be in the
same town, as the Hollywood couple enjoying their dinner together.
But, instead of settling for a table for two, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris appeared to have welcomed
another celebrity couple into the mix.
Photographers spotted the Shake It Off singer exiting the Palm Restaurant in Beverly Hills Tuesday
night donning black skinny jeans and a leather jacket.
And just minutes later, the English model and actress who is famous for her work for lingerie retailer

singer, actor and a member of the pop rock band Jonas Brothers Joe Jonas and Gigi Hadid (American

Characterization Of Hannibal Lecter
Dr. Hannibal Lecter. It is a name that strikes terror in the hearts of all readers and movie watchers
alike. Said to be the most widely feared and awed fictional psychopaths of all times, he is a highly
qualified psychiatrist who eats people for the sake of amusement. But even with his cannibalistic
nature, the author Thomas Harris does not portray Dr. Lecter as the antagonist of his book, The
Silence of the Lambs ; he is more of a middleman, who though imprisoned hasn t lost his impeccably
polite ways, his mannerisms sometimes making you question whether he is actually crazy at all. He

the creation of the character of Hannibal Lecter, inspired from a man that he met in a mental
institution years earlier. He also further explains how his childhood memories influenced the building
of Clarice Starling s personality.

This custom started, by our nation s first President George Washington, in 1789 (President). Every President since Washington has given this speech. Presidents utilize this to bestow their plan in the forthcoming years of the United States and ambitions for America. This is utmost one of the most important days in the History of America as it signaled the birth of a new nation. In today s context it signals a peaceful exchange of power in the most disruptive of times. The speech is primarily given out to the citizens of the United States, who need to know what the future holds for them; Now in a world of globalization and foreign policy this speech is paid attention to throughout the world. All Inaugural addresses are similar. First they start with their greeting, then examine the state of the nation, the newly elected President presents the issues of the country and the plan to solve them. After the President draws upon powerful lessons and rhetoric to bring inspiration to the American people and finally closes off to end the address. President Obama was no stranger to that as he has done that, like every President before him, not once but twice, in 2009 and 2013. Using rhetoric, President Obama grasps the attention and impacts audiences listening and watching all over the world in 2013. • 7. International Journal Of Strategic Communication When looking at big brands and companies, such as fast food industries, one can think of a couple of favorite go to places. Places like these have strong marketing strategies to get customers to keep coming back for more and become favorable to the public. It is in the hands of public relations to handle a company s brand image to get people hooked to a business s products and to keep a positive relationship with its consumers. On the other hand, it is also the duty of public relations to handle the company s image when it is ruined or in a crisis. One example of a company that has a great brand image, but also dealt with a crisis is Chipotle and it s E. coli crisis. If it wasn t for Chipotle s powerful public image and integrity towards its customers when in crisis, the business would ve shut down completely. In this scenario, the power of public relations was Chipotle s hero. In the scholarly journal, International Journal of Strategic Communication, a particular article called, Communicating Corporate Social Responsibility and Brand Sincerity: A Case Study of Chipotle Mexican Grill s Food with Integrity Program by Matthew W. Ragas and Marilyn S. Roberts and the trade article, Chipotle, Edelman Split amid E. coli Crisis both portray the power of public relations within the brand, Chipotle in good and bad times. • 8. Roxy Paine, Conjoined Essay The piece of art that I have chosen is Roxy Paine s Conjoined created in 2007. This is a representational piece depicting a pair of trees taken from nature and joined by their branches. The trees themselves are cylindrical, smooth and shiny from all angles. They reflect light from all sides creating a mirror like appearance. The branches initially flow upward but then gradually flow into the middle where they are conjoined. They are located in Madison Square Park where they seem to blend in with the rest of the trees but they definitely manage to stand out. Because they serve no function other than visual I consider this sculpture to be fine art. Roxy Paine welds cylindrical stainless steel pipes and rods to form and shape these two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stainless steel is more expensive than standard steel. Paine has studied and observed they way trees grow and this has allowed him to form his own artistic rendition. Paine uses the visual element of Direction and Movement to make the trees appear like they are growing into each other or being pulled apart. The branches are tapering at the tips and flowing to the side almost like a windstorm is blowing them over. Looking at the trees you get a real sense of struggle between forces. They look like they are pulling apart but at the same time trying to overtake one another. He also uses the visual element of Shape and Mass. The trees are 3D representation of actual trees. They are over 40 foot tall and very heavy; therefore they consume a large amount of volume and mass. The trees appear to be constructed from geometric shapes but also try to follow the form of nature in a more organic way. Since the two trees are a sculpture they are naturally 3D but their reflection caused by light shining on the stainless steel reminds us of their intricate details. The trees have a very strong gray monochromatic earth tone caused by the steel. A Principle of Design that Paine emphasizes is Unity. The trees are conjoined, rendering them as one, as a whole, they are in unison. The trees appear to be to scale when compared to the other trees in the park. They are not too small nor do the feel out of place. There is a strong emphasis near the middle of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. William Paley s Argument From Design Argument from Design In the Argument from Design article by William Paley, he begins the argument by describing the mechanisms of a watch. These parts all combine in a certain way to make the watch work, or even exist. If these parts were not combined in the exact order, the watch would not do anything profound. Paley further describes how an observer could conceive the watch in the mind. He would then reflect, in some sense, how the watch was made independently. It was not brought into existence by other watches, but only by a creator combining different items together. There is the idea of metallic nature, but assuming a law also assumes a lawgiver. Therefore, there must be some sort of creator of the watch, even though the creator is unknown. This same concept could be applied to the universe, stating that there must be a creator that made these elaborate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even if people were unaware of the person who made the watch, ignorance is not an excuse for not giving credit to the artist. An objection to his argument is that some of the parts seem to have no function, so they were not designed. Paley states there may be a function of these parts that we are unable to see or understand. The design is evident from examining the rest of the watch. The machine does not have to be perfect in order to understand the artist s design of the mechanism. For example, a blueprint of a machine can show you the idea and purpose of the final results, even though all the parts on the blueprint are not specifically described on why it exists. The design could not be a fault of chance due to its complexity. The observer of the watch cannot be driven out of his conclusion, even though he may know ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The two largest religious groups have some common beliefs and have diverse different aspects of explaining life and the creator of the universe. The Abrahamic religion includes Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. The Islamic religion is a common religion practiced by Muslims all over the world. It subscribes to Allah teachings as professed by Prophet Muhammad (Ali, 2011). There have been times in Islamic history when men we counted as a superior creation as compared to women. They were seen as lesser beings that have no social and human rights at all. They were considered to serve as a means for men sexual gratification and the subservience. However, things changed in the Arabic land in the past fourteen hundred years when Islam appeared. Muhammad changed the position of women in the society and now it has improved tremendously unlike in the pre Islamic period. Islam has worked on ensuring equality among the people is achieved. This has seen the elimination of barriers that had been created by people that wanted to be seen as superior and distinguished from others. The segregation of women in the society was synonymous where they were seen as to be in different part of the society, without any living standards (Sharma, 2016). Personal And Career Development Plan Assignment 6 Case Study Personal and Career Development Plan Murali Krishna Chagarlamudi CAR 100 600D Career Planning and Development Virginia International University Dr. Theresa Poussaint April 20, 2016 According to Maxwell and Knox (2009), academics and practitioners have extolled the potential benefits of having a well managed cooperate brand. They have also acknowledged that corporate branding brings new challenges that cannot be readily addressed within a traditional marketing framework, including a need to ensure that employee behavior is consistently aligned with the company s brand promise, but previous research has tended to focus on issues related to recruitment. As a result, little is known about how employer branding can actually be used to support the corporate brand. More specifically, researchers have yet to explain what makes an organization s employer brand attractive to current employees (Maxwell Knox, 2009). More specifically, theorists argue that a corporate brand should be closely aligned with the identity of the organization. Corporate brand communications may include symbolism and conventional communications such as advertising and PR. However, corporate branding also involves multiple stakeholders interacting with numerous staff in multiple departments across an organization it provides external stakeholders with information about the identity of the organization and if this information is not consistent with the advertised ... The story begins with Vashti, who was queen before Esther. When the king requested that Vashti come before the banquet he was throwing, she refused. This angered the king and she lost her good standing. He also ordered that every woman should give honor to her husband. From here begins the specific pericope discussed in this paper. Beginning at Esther 2:1, the king is convinced to bring young virgins to him and choose the one that pleases him the most to take Vashti s place. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In reality, it is difficult to tie any of the stories in Esther to actual historical events. The Persian Empire, for one, did not consist of 127 provinces; rather, it only had 20. There are no records of any Persian king giving the order to kill off all of the Jewish population, nor of any Persian king giving the order that the Jews could defend themselves. The sheer number of Persians killed in the Esther , 75,000, is unlikely because there are no historical records of any slaughter that size (Harris 243). On the other hand, scholars believe that the king portrayed in Esther is Xerxes I, so it is possible that at least some of the information involved is based on truth (Harris 242). The knowledge that the author portrays of Persian court and customs also lends to the belief that some of the information is true (Harris 243). It is also possible that a Persian king had a woman of Jewish descent in his large harem , but it is unlikely that such a woman would have been his first wife (Harris 243). Scholars suggest that Esther is, instead of a work of history, a work of historical fiction due to the balance of historical fact and authorial flair (Leith ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

True Feelings in Billy Collins Taking Off Emily Dickinson s Clothes Upon first look, Billy Collins Taking Off Emily Dickinson s Clothes seems to be a wild fantasy for Emily Dickinson that he is entertaining. Upon closer examination, however, the poem reveals his subconscious desire to have sex with his mother and his frustration about his inability to do so, resulting in the displacement of his sexual desires onto Dickinson. From the beginning, Collins is very detailed with his description. In fact he is quite anal retentive in explaining everything about the encounter. The mother of pearl buttons on the back (7 8) of the dress can be seen as an unconscious Freudian slip which reveals Collin s true sexual feelings toward his mother. He could have referred to the buttons as any color, but he chooses to use the term mother of pearl (7). Collins then says that he buttons are so tiny and numerous that it takes forever before [his] hands can part the fabric (9 10). He seems to be very methodical in his act of undressing Dickinson. He is the one doing the undressing, he is the one in charge, and it is he who is in control of every detail. The simile like a swimmer dividing the water, and slip inside (11 12) might refer to Collins slipping into his unconscious and thinking about his mother, forgetting about Dickinson. The fourth stanza begins with the line You will want to know that she was standing by an open window in an upstairs bedroom (13 15) This seems to be more of Collin s anal retentiveness trying to prove that he is in control. Se is motionless, a little wide eyed (16), which demonstrates her innocence and how helpless she seems to be in this whole situation. By her lack of participation and his over zealous control, one would think that it is more of a rape than a sexual encounter.
