The Effects Of Marking Steating
Additionally, beam hardening happens as the energy levels of polychromatic X ray beams used with
the CBCT are not uniform, so the lower energy photons can be absorbed easily at the edges of the
scanned area causing hardening of the X ray beam, which resulting in lower gray values toward the
subject center causing what is called cup¬ping artifact even if the density all over the subject is
identical (91) Ring artifacts caused by defects or un calibrated components in the detector forming
concentric rings in the CBCT im¬age. Dense metallic materials scanning can cause severe streaking
artifacts when their gray values are more than the maxi¬mum level of operation that the software can
deal with (91). Patient motion during CBCT ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this simple method does not offer suf¬ficient quality of images (96). So, more studies are
still needed to develop an optimal segmentation technology specific to individual CBCT images. For
over a century, conventional dental radiographs have been the dominant source of diagnostic
information on the maxillofacial complex (97). Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a more
recent development, and its clinical application in the field of dento maxilla facial radiology is gaining
importance and becoming widespread (98). Although the clinical relevance of dental diagnosis and pre
surgical assessment of jaw bone density has been clearly demonstrated, the available research on
CBCT based bone quality is scant (99). A new tool, the computed tomography index, was proposed to
assess the BMD on CBCT images ;( 100) with it, CBCT images can be used to evaluate women with
osteoporosis, thus increasing the possibilities for screening and early detection. A recent study
evaluated the mandibular index on CBCT images and found that the use of this index in CBCT images
was valid;(101) however, the index obtained from CBCT images did not compare well with that
derived from panoramic images, the imaging modality for which the classification was originally
devised. Moreover, the CBCT analysis was conducted in templates, i.e., static slices. These aspects
could have influenced the results (101). It is considered

Zora Neale Hurston Analysis
Zora Neale Hurston was able to offer a feminine opinion in a time when writing was primarily
dominated by males. This evidently demonstrated a difference in her work in comparison to her male
counterparts. For instance, During this time writers such as W.E.B. Du Bois and Langston Hughes
were analogous to black activist and spoke up for their race, discussing inequality and examining the
negative issues at play while offering strategies to combat those issues and bring about change. For
instance, Dubois spoke greatly about black upliftment through the process of higher education and
urged blacks to stand up for what they believed and not conform to passiveness. This is depicted when
Dubois states the way for a people to gain their reasonable

Parsifal Team Summary
O ver the course of the next four hours Chandler the Fair and the members of Parsifal crew continued
to make their way downwards into the subbasement level. Much of that time was spent in cramped
condition inside the bank s vast ventilation system. But since that they were finally given the
authorization to use their weapons whenever necessary, this in turn made the whole process easier.
Through a series of isolated firefights and shootouts, relatively speaking, the Adelburgers of Parsifal
crew always maintained the upper hand, thanks to a newly adopted strategy of taking the Union
members by surprise. As a result, they eventually made to the subbasement by 10PM, the evening of
4th December. Entering the subbasement through a ventilation shaft, the five members of Parsifal
crew were greeted by a lone bouncing betty landmine. Thankfully, they were too far away from being
able to detonate it, not to mention that it was facing in a direction that led to a stairway that led
upstairs to basement level. Not wanting to exert any unnecessary effort into trying to defuse it, the
Adelburgers of Parsifal instead preceded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emerging from cover, the Adelburgers began to open fire on the unsuspecting Union members killing
several in the process. A shootout ensued moments later, which later ended in the favor of the
Adelburgers. Once the last of the Union members were dead, the Chandler and the others began to
make their way to the bank vault and the titanic repository contained within, slowly and vigilantly. As
they moved towards the repository, each did their part to make sure that no one was still alive, or else
anyone who happened to be lying in wait to ambush them. Luckily, there were no surprises that
awaited them. When they reached the foot of the repository, together, they all went

Romanticism In Walt Mann s Song Of Myself, By Thomas Mann
While, in Death in Venice, Thomas Mann s use of a third person limited point of view, enigmatic
figures, and ironic and analytical tone dismantles the romantic answer to realism, Walt Whitman
eludes Mann s critiques in his work Song of Myself through the use of first person speaker, everyday
objects as symbols and free verse. Mann s dissolving of romanticism, carved a pathway for Whitman
to craft a utopian view where principles such as democracy and importance in individual identity
emerge as possible answers.
The point of view of both works vary from 3rd person in Death in Venice to a 1st person in Song of
Myself. This distinction in viewpoints allows for each author to express his idea in the best way
possible. Early in Death in Venice, when Aschenbach encounters the traveler, Mann displays the
power of using third person limited narrator. It is entirely possible that Aschenbach had been
somewhat indiscreet in his half distracted, half inquisitive survey of the stranger, for he suddenly
realized that his gaze was being returned, and indeed returned so belligerently, so directly eye to eye
with such clear intent to bring matters to a head and force the other to avert his eyes, that Aschenbach,
with an awkward sense of embarrassment, turned away and began to walk along the fence (1082).
Mann s use of such particular detail of movement and feelings for a simple matter of making eye
contact allows the reader to connect with Aschenbach s own experiences. The feeling of

The Importance Of Evil Deeds In Macbeth
Macbeth is a play about a brave and courageous Scottish general who receives three prophecies from a
trio of witches, one of which being that Macbeth shalt be king (1.3.53). Upon receiving these
prophecies, Macbeth becomes plagued by his ambition and his lust for power, and he allows himself
to be spurred to action by Lady Macbeth, his wife. So he decides to murder his king and take the
throne for himself. Afterward, throughout the rest of the play, he is forced to deal with the fallout and
repercussions that come as a result of committing regicide. In the play Macbeth, Shakespeare develops
the idea that evil deeds lead to more evil deeds as one s humanity begins to slowly deteriorate. This
ties back to Macbeth s character, as for each evil deed he commits, he falls further and further from
sanity and slips deeper into a mental state of fear, paranoia, anger, and hatred. The first evil deed is
always the most difficult to commit, and this is no exception to Macbeth, which is made clear when he
takes an entire act of talking himself into and out of the murder, and needs the persuasion of his wife
to actually follow through with it. After the witches predict his reign as king, Macbeth was afflicted
with many dark thoughts and his true ambitious desires came to light. He pictured himself murdering
King Duncan, but Macbeth did everything he could to fight those dark thoughts. This was made clear
by Macbeth consistently refusing to think about killing Duncan, to the point that

The Importance Of The Theatrical Space And How It Can...
In the words of Gay McAuley, for an activity to be regarded as a performance, it must involve the live
presence of the performers and those witnessing it... (McAuley, 2009, cited in Schechner, 2013,
pp.38). This statement recognises the importance of both the actor and the audience for something to
truly function as a performance. In addition, Lloyd Llewellyn Jones highlights the significance of the
theatrical space and how it can influence an audience stating that on entering a theatre of any kind, a
spectator walks into a specific space, one that is designed to produce a certain reaction or series of
responses (Llewellyn Jones, 2002, pp.3). The relationship between actor, audience and theatrical space
is no less important today than it was at the time of theatre during the Spanish Golden Age and the
creation of Commedia dell arte in Italy. Despite being very close geographically with theatre thriving
for both in the same era, sources that explore the social, cultural and historical context of these
countries and the theatre styles will bring to light the similarities and differences. This essay will
analyse the staging, the behaviour of the audience as well as the challenges the actors faced, and how
this directly influenced the relationship between actor, audience and theatrical space.
Commedia dell arte was established during the sixteenth century at a time when theatre flourished in
Italy. Despite such a rich time for the arts, a divide in the church as well as

Displacement In The Happiest Refuge
Displacement; the action of moving something from it place or position. To me, displacement is the
unfair treatment of a person who has had the disadvantage of having to flee their own home, lost their
sense of self, their belongings, their culture, or even people they know and love, for the sake of either
their own safety, or the safety of those around them.
The idea of displacement in The Happiest Refugee is demonstrated and explored through the thorough
use of techniques such as;
Colloquial language. He uses this as a way to represent the desire he has to fit into society as a regular
Australian . He does this to make the point that just because he came from a different country under
difficult circumstances, doesn t mean he is any different

Existentialism In The Stranger
The novel, The Stranger, written by French author Albert Camus, is a philosophical fiction piece
published in 1942. This book used both Existentialism and Absurdism to promote Meursault s
problem throughout the book. Both of these are related to Modernism, which was the aftermath of the
industrial revolution. Modernism is a philosophical movement that along with cultural trends and
changes arose wide scale and far reaching transformations in western society during the late 19th and
early 20th century (Koofers 1). Modernism was branched into different styles of art but they all had
something in common, a rejection of history and applied ornament; a preference for abstraction; and a
belief that design and technology could transform ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the funeral, he was indifferent to the situation, he didn t really mourn for his mother. Another
example, was when Meursault helped Raymond write a letter because he didn t have anything else to
do. Another one was when Meursault just stood there and watched Raymond beat up his girlfriend,
without saying anything and refused to call the cops just because he didn t he didn t like them. A final
example from the first part of the book was before Meursault hit the turning point, he refused a job
offer in Paris because he thought life would still be the same even if he was in a different area. These
brief examples show that Meursault is ignoring the social critique. All of his actions are related to
Clairvoyance, a surrealist art by René Magritte. In the painting, René Magritte predicted the future of
the egg onto a canvas and in The Stranger, Meursault s actions lead us to predict that things weren t
going to go great for him within the end of the first part. Unlike the Existentialist model, the Aristotle
model suggests the opposite by portraying a character who fits the role of a tragic hero and faces a
tragic flaw. A tragic hero is a character that eventually makes the wrong judgment at the climax of the
book that leads the character to his/her own destruction. An Aristotelian model is different from an
Existentialist model because the character goes through a fall in their social status. An example of

Student Nurse Reflective Essay
On July 10th, I received a patient into care at 1915hrs, she was admitted with nausea and vomiting and
later diagnosed with Clostridium difficile. At the beginning of the shift, I checked her vital signs as a
part of my routine assessment I found the patient was tachypneic, tachycardic and had pitting edema.
When asked, the patient said it was normal for her to have high respirations and a high heart rate. The
patient s history and progress notes had no mention of these issues, I notified the primary nurse and
she told me to monitor the situation. The patient s situation did not feel right, I reassessed her and her
respirations continued to increase to 39 resp/min and her O2 saturation was 88% 90% on room air. I

I ll get the nurse and she can tell me what to do. This is an example of my biggest barrier to
transitioning from a student nurse to a registered nurse. I do not have full confidence in my nursing
judgement and I have become somewhat accustomed to my judgement being checked by an instructor
or preceptor In this instance, I trusted my instinct, I put the patient on 2L of oxygen and reassessed the
patient s O2 saturation, it increased to 95%. I knew that because I have had experiences with patients
with low O2 saturation in the past clinical rotations. For the other issues, I was not sure how to move
forward, I notified my preceptor and she stated that the doctor needs to be called for new orders. I was
thinking over the scenario and trying to predict what order the doctor would give, at the time I had no
idea. The doctor ordered Lasix IV push, Ventolin and Atrovent. I knew that Lasix is used to excrete
fluids from the body and Ventolin/Atrovent allow the patient to breathe better. Eventually, I was able
to figure it out; the patient was given too much fluid

Micro Loans in Developing Countries: Can Micro Loans help in Reduce Poverty
The word poverty came from the Anglo Norman word povert. Poverty is predominantly seen in the
developing nations. Poverty is a where people lack their basic capacity to participate effectively in
society i.e. Not having enough money to provide food and clothes to their family, not being able to
work and earn for themselves. There are many reasons for poverty in developing countries some of
them include overpopulation, uneven distribution of resources ,lack of education, environmental

Microloan is one of the popular and effective method of reducing the poverty supported by all the
countries of the world especially the developing countries. This is an inspirational story started by a
common man in late 1970 s looking at the extreme poverty in his country. Micro loans or Micro
Financing was first started by Muhammad Yunus in Bangladesh. He started an Organisation called
Grameen Bank. The Grameen Bank provides small loans without collateral to small group of
borrowers. This small financing group later grew to large micro financing organisation by lending
money to thousands of people in the world. With the inspiration of Grameen Banks in Bangladesh
several small micro financing institutions sprang up around the world and a new movement called
International Microfinance Movement began in all the major continents of the world.
Micro financing organisations are increasing worldwide with variable interest rates depending on the
economic condition of the country. With the increasing technology accessing microloans has been
made easy ever since. KIVA is one of the most popular micro financing institutes which provide loans
all over the globe, around 70 developing countries are seeking loans from this firm. The interest rates

Antarctica Environmental Consequences
In the last 50 years, Antarctica has rose 3˚ (Cool Antarctica, N.D). This may not seem like a very big
increase. However both Antarctica and Greenland have very sensitive environments and increases like
that can lead to species being endangered or even extinct. In Fact the International Union for
Conservation of Nature claims that 11 of the 17 known penguin species are at risk of extinction.
Adelie penguins are at the most risk. This is because of breeding struggles. Adelie penguins build a
nest with small pebbles at the Antarctic shoreline that aren t covered in snow (National Geographic,
N.D). However warm temperatures allow for more moisture to be held in the clouds for longer periods
of time. This causes snow to fall much more heavily once the temperature is finally cold enough for it
to snow. Polar bears are also at threat because of the rise in temperatures. The warm ... Show more

Erik Von Willebrand Research Paper
Von Willebrand Disorder, abbreviated as VWD, is the most common inherited bleeding disorder. Erik
von Willebrand, a Finnish scientist, first discovered it in the 1920s. Carried on the twelfth
chromosome, von Willebrand causes excessive bleeding (National Hemophilia). Patients with VWD
form blood clots slower, resulting in prolonged bleeding. As a lifelong condition without a cure, it can
come with serious health hazards. Roughly one percent of the U.S. population, or one out of one
hundred to a thousand people, have this ailment. However, other bleeding disorders, such as
hemophilia, occur mainly in males, VWD affects both men and women equally. Despite who it affects,

The severity of symptoms does not depend on the type of VWD a patient has; although, the intensity
of signs does vary from person to person (Introduction). The most common sign of this disease,
excessive or abnormal bleeding, is often overlooked as a symptom. Abnormal bleeding consists of:
blood in urine or stool, bleeding from shaving with a razor or a comparable injury, frequent and
lengthy nosebleeds, bleeding from the gums, increased menstrual flow, and excessive bleeding from a
cut or following a tooth extraction or other dental procedures. Severe enough bleeding can threaten a
patient s life if doctors can control the blood loss. Though rare, internal organs and joint damage can
occur from serious bleeding (Facts about). Some patients may not realize their condition until
experiencing excessive bleeding after a surgical procedure or serious trauma. Another sign, frequent
and easy bruising, can come from minor bumps or injuries. These bruises may develop small lumps
under the skin. More severe symptoms include spontaneous bleeding in both soft tissue and joints.

Theme Of Manipulation In Othello
Manipulation is the controlling by artful, unfair, or insidious means especially to one s own advantage.
In the play Othello by William Shakespeare, Iago uses manipulation to procure what he wants. The
story of Othello is about a man named Othello, who married a the virtuous Desdemona. Othello and
Desdemona are madly in love and have already overcame many obstacles to be together, much to the
dismay of Roderigo. A man who longed for Desdemona, and consistently chased after her. He was
overlooked for a high position in the army and had heard rumors that Othello has slept with his wife
Emilia. For these crimes, man named Iago is out to destroy Othello s life. Iago deceives many people
and through his subtle actions, kills Othello and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be sure that Othello would be the one charged with murder when the time came about, he told
othello to strangle her rather than poison her. With her strangled in her own bed, the killer would be
obvious to discern, unlike poisoning her, which would be more difficult to prove. Iago knew othello
would jump at this idea as well. He knew that this act was one of revenge and the best way to get said
revenge was to kill her where she had betrayed him.
Iago manipulates Roderigo. Othello has told Iago to murder Cassio. Iago then turns to Roderigo to do
his dirty work. He says to Roderigo, If you will watch his going thence, which I will fashion to fall out
between twelve and one, you may take him at your pleasure: I will be near to second your attempt, and
he shall fall between us. Come, stand not amazed at it, but go along with me; I will show you such a
necessity in his death that you shall think yourself bound to put it on him (4. 2. 235 242). Iago was
more than well informed by roderigo himself about how much he was willing to sacrifice for
Desdemona. He even has mentioned killing himself over her. Iago uses this to his advantage when he
implies that to be with Desdemona, Roderigo has to kill Cassio. Additionally, if Cassio is killed it will
only prove himself more veritable in othello s eyes, which is exactly what he needs at all times to
ensure that his plot will go through.
At the very end of it all, Iago was a master

Essay On Alternative Fuel
Alternative Fuels America needs to free itself from oil dependency. Every day billions of dollars are
spent on resourcing oil from other countries. The United States consumes around 20 million barrels of
oil every day. In the 1970 s when the energy crisis happened, oil prices skyrocketed and the supply of
oil ceased, efforts shifted to find alternative sources of power. Although many people believe
alternative fuels are being researched and developed for environmental reasons such as reducing our
carbon emissions, they are actually becoming integrated into our lives from an economic standpoint.

While electric vehicles are an excellent alternative source, they do have some drawbacks. Electric
vehicles have long charge times and the infrastructure isn t fully developed all over the world. It s easy
to find gas stations along the road, but how often are electric vehicle charging stations found? The
placement of the structures is crucial because the chargers need to be in a good location. Authors of
Retailing Management Michael Levy and Barton Weitz explain that when a firm decides to open a
new station, they must make a substantial investment; either buy and develop the real estate or commit
to a long term lease typically ranging from 5 to 20 years. When companies set up a charging station its
more than just a place to refuel, it s an investment logically thought out as to where it should be
placed. Electric vehicles are an amazing advancement but some people are turned away who are used
to quick gas fill ups. Hydrogen Fuel cell is another solution to finding alternative fuel vehicles. This
technology has zero emissions, a driving range of 300 miles, and can be refueled and moving again in
minutes. Although this technology is more recent, the military has taken a liking to hydrogen powered
cars. Initially, electric vehicles were appealing to military because of how quiet they are, but setting up
charging locations is extremely difficult and the military doesn t have time to wait for their electric
vehicles to charge while in combat. The hydrogen vehicle was

The Cause For Increasing Fire Activity Is Climate Change
One leading cause for increasing fire activity is climate change. Over the past several hundred years,
average temperatures across the globe have increased. Warming temperatures have shortened winter
and spring by melting snow packs and drying out areas prematurely. They have also staved off the
chilling temperatures of fall. Altogether, summer and the firefighting season is 78 days longer than it
was, even in the last several decades. As a result, burnable fuels are exposed to extreme temperatures
for a longer period of time. Prolonged exposure to such temperatures drives the moisture out of the
fuels. Additionally, fuel moisture directly relates to fuel flammability. With high fuel moistures, fuels
like trees and shrubs will have a difficult time being ignited. Not coincidentally, fires under these
conditions tend to be creeping in nature and unable to rapidly devour land. However, when fuel

temperatures enable fuel moistures decline and fires are able to take off and engulf millions of acres a

The Structural Framework Of Letter
When observing the structural framework of Letter to Romans, chapters nine through eleven are a
distinctive unit because of the central focus on God s inclusion of salvation for all. Awkward sentence
structure. Prior to chapters nine through eleven, Paul verbally confronts individually within his
religious heritage for justifying their faith through their works to God s promise rather by grace
through faith. Chapters (7 8) explore the importance of tying the law with the gospel in order to live a
righteous yet difficult life. Within these chapters, Paul continually berates the Jews for their rejection
of Christ and for their faith justified by good works. However, Paul shifts his focus from the jews to
the gentiles regarding their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think that this could be correct, I would add a sentence or two explaining why.
This scriptural passage is connected to preceding sections by using a transitional phrase So that you
(v.25). This corresponds to the transitional phrase of the preceding section on the salvation of the
gentiles, So I ask, (thesis points to previou section) Awkward sentence construction (v.11) One could
interpret this use of transitional phrases as a series of points stemming from the main argument that
Israel is still God s elect and will attain salvation through the Gentiles according to God s plan. Within
this text, an important conceptual link is this emphasis on all of Israel . The Elijah narrative in the
beginning of chapter 11, portrays God granting mercy on the people of Israel even though they have
persecuted his prophets and desecrated the altars of God s temple. However, those who are shown
mercy are those 7,000 people who have not worshipped Baal. Paul expands upon this by stating that
So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. (v.5) The remanent pertains to the
Jewish Christians of Paul s time. However, two sections later, Paul makes an argument that all of
Israel, even those who have disobeyed God, will attain salvation and mercy.
The NRSV presents two textual problems for this scriptural passage. In verse 28, the word God was
not originally in the sentence, therefore the line is

Anton Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard
Anton Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard Analysis of Comedic Characters Anton Chekhov s The Cherry
Orchard is one of his most famous plays, despite the fact that the comedic aspect is often questioned.
The Cherry Orchard records the tale of a wealthy Russian family who are faced with the loss of their
estate due to bankruptcy, while also facing the reality of losing their beloved cherry orchard. Titled as
a comedy, it seeks to disclose the family and household dynamics during this brief period. The
wealthy family is in so much debt that they are being forced to sell their beloved cherry orchard, a
symbol of the affluent past that the family was accustomed to. The Cherry Orchard does not appear to
be a comedy in our modern day sense of the word, which is the reason that it can be so difficult for the
21st century reader to understand why the play is labeled a comedy and not a tragedy. In Checkhov s
work, the characters are one of the most prominent comedic forces driving the play. French
philosopher Henri Bergson s once summarized comedic character by saying that, Comedic character is
rigid or inflexible in circumstances that demand a resiliency of the mind or body (Fiero). Through the
lens of this definition, we conclude that the primary circumstances that demand(s) a resiliency of the
mind or body for the characters in The Cherry Orchard are the selling of the cherry orchard and the
loss of their class prominence. We will be considering Chekhov s comedic style

Red Tide Research Paper
Madison Easterbrook David Fugate OCE 3008C April 25, 2016 Red Tide in West Florida Red tide is a
very serious issue that severely affects the West Coast of Florida. Red tide is defined as a toxic bloom
in red dinoflagellates. It has major impacts on its surroundings. Algal species that have harmful effects
are commonly referred to as Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs). Toxic red tide is threatening tourism in
West Florida as well as wildlife, specifically the endangered manatees as it extends down the Florida
coast. When conditions are right, dinoflagellates will bloom in very large numbers. Red tides name

Oxygen depletion will create stress which can take years to recover. These HABs can also suppress
mammalian immune functions which results in mass mortalities of dolphins and manatees. This can be
seen by a significant reduction in manatee lymphocytes in cell culture that are exposed to these toxins.
With all of this evidence of the negative impacts of these toxins, it shows the need to recognize these
biotoxins as significant stressors within south west Florida coastal ecosystems. HABs in Florida have
had a major impact on seabirds in the west Florida area. Seabirds that were admitted for rehabilitation
in 2005 2006 after a severe bloom on the west coast of Florida showed signs of disorientation,
inability to stand, and seizures. Scientists tested the blood, biologic fluids, and tissues of the seabirds
in search of brevetoxin, and found that 69% of the seabirds tested had this toxin present in their
bodies. The four species that were most affected were the Double crested Cormorants, Brown
Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, and Common Loons. Through blood and fecal samples taken from
several of the seabirds during rehabilitation, it was found that the brevetoxin was expelled from their
bodies within 5 19 after being admitted to the rehabilitation facility. In the seabirds that died, high
areas in the body of highest brevetoxin concentrations were found in bile, stomach contents, and

Red Leaves Sparknotes
Red Leaves by Sita Brahmachari helps IB students understand the concept of Identities and
Relationships through the idea of family that isn t related through hereditary means. Red Leaves is
about 3 characters named Aisha, Iona and Zak dealing with their personal conflicts. Each protagonist
has family issues that deeply affect them. Divorced parents, foster families and abusive parents are
examples of conflicts in the book. Aisha, one of the protagonists in this book, has a foster parent
named Lilliana. Throughout the book, they have each other s best interests in mind. They love each
other so much they are willing to lose each other so that the other can benefit. For example, Lilliana is
willing to give Aisha up so that Aisha could grow up with people who understand Aisha s culture. This
shows that Lilliana puts Aisha s needs before her own, this is the true meaning of family not blood
relation. Although Aisha and Lilliana are not related by DNA, they loved each other like family. Red

attorneys representing American Airlines and Sunoco. Several of the attorneys representing other
defendants attended via telephone. The great majority of those attorneys had entered into a stipulation
with the plaintiffs that Mrs. White would not be able to testify as to whether Mr. White ever worked

IMPRESSION OF WITNESS
I found Mrs. White to be honest in that she freely admitted that her illness has not negatively impacted

The Language Of Technology Is Helpful For Communication
The Language of Technology
Language evolves along us as we grow up. I grew up talking Cantonese with my parents. At
elementary school, I took ESL classes. With my brothers, I spoke Pidgin with them. As technology
grew exponentially, language became a part of technology s close companion. Social media has
changed the way people have spoken in the past with new acronyms and new words, and connected
people left behind in the social world. While people focus on the negative effects of social media,
technology is helpful for communication in many aspects.
In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell experimented with the telegraph, to transmit human voice to a distant
place using electricity (transition.fcc.gov). It was later patented to become the first telephone to send
the first intelligible sentence in 1876. Alexander Graham bell wrote in 1878, I believe in the future
wires will unite the head offices of telephone companies in different cities, and a man in one part of
the country may communicate by word of mouth with another in a distant place. This shows that the
phone was created to unite people from distant places. The internet was created back in 1960 s as a
way for government to share information (USG). Back in the Cold War, the internet was used as a
substitute to phones, as the internet sends information through packets, while all phones would go
down when the phone line is cut. This shows that the internet is more reliable than phones and is
created to increase communication.

Analyses of Little Red Cap Story
Almost the whole story takes place somewhere in a village surrounded by dense forests. Story is set

this actually occurred. Nature is well described and there are even some good detail descriptions. For
instance; ....sunbeams dancing here and there through the trees , which made the best impression on
me. Description of the nature was undeniably very important. Mainly because I think that by
describing the nature well, the writer wanted to scare kids away from lonely forests. Little Red cap can

The writer used words like whither, craftily, nosegay, thou, thee. I didn t found it hard to read, but I
believe that the story could be a bit more interesting if the writer used more modern and frequent
words and phrases. The good thing about the text is that it was both narrative and had some dialogues
in it. It is more interesting that way. The story is not exactly emotional, neither is the used language.
This however doesn t stop it from being a good version of Little Red Ridding Hood. When I read this
fairy tale I didn t felt anything, simply because of the fact that it is a fairy tale. In the mean time it
made me think about my childhood and the days when I was sitting in front of TV for hours, watching

Clarke s Cosmological Argument On The Existence Of God
Clarke s Cosmological argument has been around for multiple centuries the purpose of this argument
being to try to prove the existence of God. Although this argument sounds valid meaning that IF
premises 1 and 2 are true, then the conclusion must be true while many people have accepted this
argument, it has also caused a lot of questioning and skepticism, mainly because of what the
Cosmological Argument uses to support its argument the Principle of Sufficient reason. Before
determining whether the PSR effectively supports Clarke s Cosmological argument, one must know
the Cosmological Argument s premises and what they mean. Premise 1 of Clarke s Cosmological
Argument asserts that every being is either dependent or independent meaning ... Show more content

For example, if you see a dog at a veterinary, you know that the dog exists due to its parents
(component 1 of the Principle of Sufficient Reason). You also know that there is an explanation for the
dog being at the veterinary: the dog might be sick or is going to go through a medical procedure
(component 2 of the Principle of Sufficient Reason).
Although the Principle of Sufficient Reason seems to be straight forward it is heavily questioned and
fails to effectively support Clarke s Cosmological arguments for many reasons, one of them being its
failure to think about or recognize Brute Facts. Brute Facts are things that can t be explained; in this
case, the inability to explain the existence of a being. An example of a Brute Fact is God, since his
existence can t be explained but his existence is considered to be true by many people. Although it has
not been explicitly confirmed that Brute Facts actually exist, the Principle of Sufficient Reason and its
premises fails to acknowledge the possibility of Brute facts existing, therefore making the PSR to be
less certain and accepted since it requires that everything has to have an explanation. This failure to
acknowledge Brute Facts by the PSR also makes it a weak argument, therefore also making it not
effectively support Clarke s Cosmological Argument.

Essay about The Mirror Neuron and its Role in Action...
Although the control of action in humans is fairly well understood, the processes that underlie action
understanding from observation are much more unclear. In general, action understanding refers to the
ability to recognize the purpose of an action performed by another person (Hickok 2008). Two
prominent theories exist to explain this phenomenon. The first posits that action understanding is an
inferential process that integrates contextual clues to determine the goal of a movement. In contrast,
the second theory asserts that action understanding arises from the simulation of the observed action in
the motor areas of the viewer (Brass et al. 2007). While the inferential process theory enjoyed a period
of general acceptance, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The researchers concluded that this indicated mirror neurons coded not just for action, but the goals of
action. Kohler and colleagues (2007) expanded on this idea, showing that some neurons were
activated with the mere sound of the result of an intended action (i.e. cracking a peanut). The authors
asserted that this indicated that mirror neurons were so tuned to goals that the sound of an action
reaching its goal was enough for the macaque to understand the entire action that would have been
involved. The results of both studies were said to apply neatly to humans as well. That is, if action
understanding is supported by the mirror neuron system of macaques, it is most likely supported by
the human mirror neuron system (hMNS). There are two major problems with this view. First, it has
been shown that human mirror neurons are much more broadly tuned than monkeys. There is not
enough evidence to generalize macaque studies to humans in this way (Hickok 2008). Second, both of
these studies fail to acknowledge that the activation of mirror neurons may have been the result, or a
byproduct, of understanding rather than the cause. Their activity, then, may only have reflected
understanding earlier in processing.
If action understanding in humans is predominantly reliant on mirror neurons, then these neurons
should respond preferentially to the ends of an action rather than the means; however, this is not the
case. Hesse and

Women Spies in the American Civil War
With over a half million deaths the most gruesome war in American history drove citizens to action.
The suffering during this era was so great many were inspired by nationalism to act. For those who

involvement. Although it is believed that many agents never sought recognition for their service,

women found it within their interests to take an active role in the fight. Some, including Elizabeth Van
Lew, simply desired for the feuding between the regions to end and found espionage to be their

  • 2. The Effects Of Marking Steating Additionally, beam hardening happens as the energy levels of polychromatic X ray beams used with the CBCT are not uniform, so the lower energy photons can be absorbed easily at the edges of the scanned area causing hardening of the X ray beam, which resulting in lower gray values toward the subject center causing what is called cup¬ping artifact even if the density all over the subject is identical (91) Ring artifacts caused by defects or un calibrated components in the detector forming concentric rings in the CBCT im¬age. Dense metallic materials scanning can cause severe streaking artifacts when their gray values are more than the maxi¬mum level of operation that the software can deal with (91). Patient motion during CBCT ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this simple method does not offer suf¬ficient quality of images (96). So, more studies are still needed to develop an optimal segmentation technology specific to individual CBCT images. For over a century, conventional dental radiographs have been the dominant source of diagnostic information on the maxillofacial complex (97). Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a more recent development, and its clinical application in the field of dento maxilla facial radiology is gaining importance and becoming widespread (98). Although the clinical relevance of dental diagnosis and pre surgical assessment of jaw bone density has been clearly demonstrated, the available research on CBCT based bone quality is scant (99). A new tool, the computed tomography index, was proposed to assess the BMD on CBCT images ;( 100) with it, CBCT images can be used to evaluate women with osteoporosis, thus increasing the possibilities for screening and early detection. A recent study evaluated the mandibular index on CBCT images and found that the use of this index in CBCT images was valid;(101) however, the index obtained from CBCT images did not compare well with that derived from panoramic images, the imaging modality for which the classification was originally devised. Moreover, the CBCT analysis was conducted in templates, i.e., static slices. These aspects could have influenced the results (101). It is considered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Zora Neale Hurston Analysis Zora Neale Hurston was able to offer a feminine opinion in a time when writing was primarily dominated by males. This evidently demonstrated a difference in her work in comparison to her male counterparts. For instance, During this time writers such as W.E.B. Du Bois and Langston Hughes were analogous to black activist and spoke up for their race, discussing inequality and examining the negative issues at play while offering strategies to combat those issues and bring about change. For instance, Dubois spoke greatly about black upliftment through the process of higher education and urged blacks to stand up for what they believed and not conform to passiveness. • 4. Parsifal Team Summary O ver the course of the next four hours Chandler the Fair and the members of Parsifal crew continued to make their way downwards into the subbasement level. Much of that time was spent in cramped condition inside the bank s vast ventilation system. But since that they were finally given the authorization to use their weapons whenever necessary, this in turn made the whole process easier. Through a series of isolated firefights and shootouts, relatively speaking, the Adelburgers of Parsifal crew always maintained the upper hand, thanks to a newly adopted strategy of taking the Union members by surprise. As a result, they eventually made to the subbasement by 10PM, the evening of 4th December. Entering the subbasement through a ventilation shaft, the five members of Parsifal crew were greeted by a lone bouncing betty landmine. Thankfully, they were too far away from being able to detonate it, not to mention that it was facing in a direction that led to a stairway that led upstairs to basement level. Not wanting to exert any unnecessary effort into trying to defuse it, the Adelburgers of Parsifal instead preceded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Emerging from cover, the Adelburgers began to open fire on the unsuspecting Union members killing several in the process. A shootout ensued moments later, which later ended in the favor of the Adelburgers. Once the last of the Union members were dead, the Chandler and the others began to make their way to the bank vault and the titanic repository contained within, slowly and vigilantly. As they moved towards the repository, each did their part to make sure that no one was still alive, or else anyone who happened to be lying in wait to ambush them. Luckily, there were no surprises that awaited them. When they reached the foot of the repository, together, they all went ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Romanticism In Walt Mann s Song Of Myself, By Thomas Mann While, in Death in Venice, Thomas Mann s use of a third person limited point of view, enigmatic figures, and ironic and analytical tone dismantles the romantic answer to realism, Walt Whitman eludes Mann s critiques in his work Song of Myself through the use of first person speaker, everyday objects as symbols and free verse. Mann s dissolving of romanticism, carved a pathway for Whitman to craft a utopian view where principles such as democracy and importance in individual identity emerge as possible answers. The point of view of both works vary from 3rd person in Death in Venice to a 1st person in Song of Myself. This distinction in viewpoints allows for each author to express his idea in the best way possible. Early in Death in Venice, when Aschenbach encounters the traveler, Mann displays the power of using third person limited narrator. It is entirely possible that Aschenbach had been somewhat indiscreet in his half distracted, half inquisitive survey of the stranger, for he suddenly realized that his gaze was being returned, and indeed returned so belligerently, so directly eye to eye with such clear intent to bring matters to a head and force the other to avert his eyes, that Aschenbach, with an awkward sense of embarrassment, turned away and began to walk along the fence (1082). Mann s use of such particular detail of movement and feelings for a simple matter of making eye contact allows the reader to connect with Aschenbach s own experiences. The feeling of ... • 6. The Importance Of Evil Deeds In Macbeth Macbeth is a play about a brave and courageous Scottish general who receives three prophecies from a trio of witches, one of which being that Macbeth shalt be king (1.3.53). Upon receiving these prophecies, Macbeth becomes plagued by his ambition and his lust for power, and he allows himself to be spurred to action by Lady Macbeth, his wife. So he decides to murder his king and take the throne for himself. Afterward, throughout the rest of the play, he is forced to deal with the fallout and repercussions that come as a result of committing regicide. In the play Macbeth, Shakespeare develops the idea that evil deeds lead to more evil deeds as one s humanity begins to slowly deteriorate. This ties back to Macbeth s character, as for each evil deed he commits, he falls further and further from sanity and slips deeper into a mental state of fear, paranoia, anger, and hatred. The first evil deed is always the most difficult to commit, and this is no exception to Macbeth, which is made clear when he takes an entire act of talking himself into and out of the murder, and needs the persuasion of his wife to actually follow through with it. After the witches predict his reign as king, Macbeth was afflicted with many dark thoughts and his true ambitious desires came to light. He pictured himself murdering King Duncan, but Macbeth did everything he could to fight those dark thoughts. This was made clear by Macbeth consistently refusing to think about killing Duncan, to the point that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Importance Of The Theatrical Space And How It Can... In the words of Gay McAuley, for an activity to be regarded as a performance, it must involve the live presence of the performers and those witnessing it... (McAuley, 2009, cited in Schechner, 2013, pp.38). This statement recognises the importance of both the actor and the audience for something to truly function as a performance. In addition, Lloyd Llewellyn Jones highlights the significance of the theatrical space and how it can influence an audience stating that on entering a theatre of any kind, a spectator walks into a specific space, one that is designed to produce a certain reaction or series of responses (Llewellyn Jones, 2002, pp.3). The relationship between actor, audience and theatrical space is no less important today than it was at the time of theatre during the Spanish Golden Age and the creation of Commedia dell arte in Italy. Despite being very close geographically with theatre thriving for both in the same era, sources that explore the social, cultural and historical context of these countries and the theatre styles will bring to light the similarities and differences. This essay will analyse the staging, the behaviour of the audience as well as the challenges the actors faced, and how this directly influenced the relationship between actor, audience and theatrical space. Commedia dell arte was established during the sixteenth century at a time when theatre flourished in Italy. Despite such a rich time for the arts, a divide in the church as well as ... This book used both Existentialism and Absurdism to promote Meursault s problem throughout the book. Both of these are related to Modernism, which was the aftermath of the industrial revolution. Modernism is a philosophical movement that along with cultural trends and changes arose wide scale and far reaching transformations in western society during the late 19th and early 20th century (Koofers 1). Modernism was branched into different styles of art but they all had something in common, a rejection of history and applied ornament; a preference for abstraction; and a belief that design and technology could transform ... A final example from the first part of the book was before Meursault hit the turning point, he refused a job offer in Paris because he thought life would still be the same even if he was in a different area. These brief examples show that Meursault is ignoring the social critique. All of his actions are related to Clairvoyance, a surrealist art by René Magritte. In the painting, René Magritte predicted the future of the egg onto a canvas and in The Stranger, Meursault s actions lead us to predict that things weren t going to go great for him within the end of the first part. Unlike the Existentialist model, the Aristotle model suggests the opposite by portraying a character who fits the role of a tragic hero and faces a tragic flaw. • 21. The Cause For Increasing Fire Activity Is Climate Change One leading cause for increasing fire activity is climate change. Over the past several hundred years, average temperatures across the globe have increased. Warming temperatures have shortened winter and spring by melting snow packs and drying out areas prematurely. They have also staved off the chilling temperatures of fall. Altogether, summer and the firefighting season is 78 days longer than it was, even in the last several decades. As a result, burnable fuels are exposed to extreme temperatures for a longer period of time. Prolonged exposure to such temperatures drives the moisture out of the fuels. Additionally, fuel moisture directly relates to fuel flammability. With high fuel moistures, fuels like trees and shrubs will have a difficult time being ignited. Not coincidentally, fires under these conditions tend to be creeping in nature and unable to rapidly devour land. However, when fuel moistures low, percentages in the teens or single digits, fire can spread very rapidly and run across the landscape. So, climate change does directly affect fire behavior and increasing fire behavior. But, that is not all. Increasing fire behavior and increasing temperatures due to climate change is a cycle. Within this text, an important conceptual link is this emphasis on all of Israel . The Elijah narrative in the beginning of chapter 11, portrays God granting mercy on the people of Israel even though they have persecuted his prophets and desecrated the altars of God s temple. However, those who are shown mercy are those 7,000 people who have not worshipped Baal. Paul expands upon this by stating that So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. Anton Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard Anton Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard Analysis of Comedic Characters Anton Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard is one of his most famous plays, despite the fact that the comedic aspect is often questioned. The Cherry Orchard records the tale of a wealthy Russian family who are faced with the loss of their estate due to bankruptcy, while also facing the reality of losing their beloved cherry orchard. Titled as a comedy, it seeks to disclose the family and household dynamics during this brief period. The wealthy family is in so much debt that they are being forced to sell their beloved cherry orchard, a symbol of the affluent past that the family was accustomed to. The Cherry Orchard does not appear to be a comedy in our modern day sense of the word, which is the reason that it can be so difficult for the 21st century reader to understand why the play is labeled a comedy and not a tragedy. In Checkhov s work, the characters are one of the most prominent comedic forces driving the play. French philosopher Henri Bergson s once summarized comedic character by saying that, Comedic character is rigid or inflexible in circumstances that demand a resiliency of the mind or body (Fiero). Through the lens of this definition, we conclude that the primary circumstances that demand(s) a resiliency of the mind or body for the characters in The Cherry Orchard are the selling of the cherry orchard and the loss of their class prominence. This is because she sees the sands as a metaphysical world rather than real world that Mr. Betteredge sees as he describes how the sands really looks as they move. Rosanna goes on to make another disturbing comment about what she believes is in the world of the sands. The imagery in the comment she makes relates back to the suicidal ideations she herself had as she sees others suffocating in the very place she believes she can see her grave. Yet, in the same moment she is bringing it back to the real world as she encourages Mr. Betteredge to throw a stone in . Upon hearing these things that Rosanna has to say about the sands, and hearing her excitement at seeing them move and suck things into them, Mr. Betteredge is very disturbed. He recognizes that this behavior is off, though he may not completely know what is causing it. He calls it unwholesome talk and her mind unquiet ; but, he blames it on her not having eaten dinner yet; a real word problem, rather than a metaphysical or psychological ... At elementary school, I took ESL classes. With my brothers, I spoke Pidgin with them. As technology grew exponentially, language became a part of technology s close companion. Social media has changed the way people have spoken in the past with new acronyms and new words, and connected people left behind in the social world. While people focus on the negative effects of social media, technology is helpful for communication in many aspects. In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell experimented with the telegraph, to transmit human voice to a distant place using electricity (transition.fcc.gov). It was later patented to become the first telephone to send the first intelligible sentence in 1876. Alexander Graham bell wrote in 1878, I believe in the future wires will unite the head offices of telephone companies in different cities, and a man in one part of the country may communicate by word of mouth with another in a distant place. This shows that the phone was created to unite people from distant places. The internet was created back in 1960 s as a way for government to share information (USG). Back in the Cold War, the internet was used as a substitute to phones, as the internet sends information through packets, while all phones would go down when the phone line is cut. This shows that the internet is more reliable than phones and is created to increase communication. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Clarke s Cosmological Argument On The Existence Of God Clarke s Cosmological argument has been around for multiple centuries the purpose of this argument being to try to prove the existence of God. Although this argument sounds valid meaning that IF premises 1 and 2 are true, then the conclusion must be true while many people have accepted this argument, it has also caused a lot of questioning and skepticism, mainly because of what the Cosmological Argument uses to support its argument the Principle of Sufficient reason. Before determining whether the PSR effectively supports Clarke s Cosmological argument, one must know the Cosmological Argument s premises and what they mean. For example, if you see a dog at a veterinary, you know that the dog exists due to its parents (component 1 of the Principle of Sufficient Reason). You also know that there is an explanation for the dog being at the veterinary: the dog might be sick or is going to go through a medical procedure (component 2 of the Principle of Sufficient Reason). Although the Principle of Sufficient Reason seems to be straight forward it is heavily questioned and fails to effectively support Clarke s Cosmological arguments for many reasons, one of them being its failure to think about or recognize Brute Facts. Brute Facts are things that can t be explained; in this case, the inability to explain the existence of a being. An example of a Brute Fact is God, since his existence can t be explained but his existence is considered to be true by many people. Although it has not been explicitly confirmed that Brute Facts actually exist, the Principle of Sufficient Reason and its premises fails to acknowledge the possibility of Brute facts existing, therefore making the PSR to be less certain and accepted since it requires that everything has to have an explanation. This failure to acknowledge Brute Facts by the PSR also makes it a weak argument, therefore also making it not effectively support Clarke s Cosmological Argument. In addition to ... • 39. Essay about The Mirror Neuron and its Role in Action... Although the control of action in humans is fairly well understood, the processes that underlie action understanding from observation are much more unclear. In general, action understanding refers to the ability to recognize the purpose of an action performed by another person (Hickok 2008). Two prominent theories exist to explain this phenomenon. The first posits that action understanding is an inferential process that integrates contextual clues to determine the goal of a movement. In contrast, the second theory asserts that action understanding arises from the simulation of the observed action in the motor areas of the viewer (Brass et al. 2007). While the inferential process theory enjoyed a period of general acceptance, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The researchers concluded that this indicated mirror neurons coded not just for action, but the goals of action. Kohler and colleagues (2007) expanded on this idea, showing that some neurons were activated with the mere sound of the result of an intended action (i.e. cracking a peanut). The authors asserted that this indicated that mirror neurons were so tuned to goals that the sound of an action reaching its goal was enough for the macaque to understand the entire action that would have been involved. The results of both studies were said to apply neatly to humans as well. That is, if action understanding is supported by the mirror neuron system of macaques, it is most likely supported by the human mirror neuron system (hMNS). There are two major problems with this view. First, it has been shown that human mirror neurons are much more broadly tuned than monkeys. There is not enough evidence to generalize macaque studies to humans in this way (Hickok 2008). Second, both of these studies fail to acknowledge that the activation of mirror neurons may have been the result, or a byproduct, of understanding rather than the cause. Their activity, then, may only have reflected understanding earlier in processing. If action understanding in humans is predominantly reliant on mirror neurons, then these neurons should respond preferentially to the ends of an action rather than the means; however, this is not the case. The suffering during this era was so great many were inspired by nationalism to act. Although it is believed that many agents never sought recognition for their service, especially Confederate scouts, documentation depicts the espionage present during the American Civil War to be surprisingly sophisticated. For those women that enlisted, changing their dress was only a small fraction of the work required to blend in to their brigade. Hiding all feminine characteristics including the ways, in which they walked, talked, sat, and acted was necessary to avoid detection (Eggleston 2). An abundance of radical periodicals and writings intended for a female audience emerged at the beginning of the war (Endres 32). With ample encouragement women found it within their interests to take an active role in the fight. Some, including Elizabeth Van Lew, simply desired for the feuding between the regions to end and found espionage to be their contribution (Kane 235).
