Physical Abuse Observation
On October 25, 2016, Maritza Contreras (Mother) reported suspicious looking bruises on her
daughter Rayna Interiano Gomez a second grader at Cora Kelly School. Reyna had spent the
weekend with her father and the mother reported conflicting with the father as to the way he
disciplines their daughter. On October 25, 2016, I was contacted by Sgt. Jeff Harrington of a CPS
fax for a physical abuse assessment. I received a copy of OASIS Referral # 2176663 and also had
two photos of a circular purplish bruise just below the left breast area of the child and a second
digital photo of another mark to the child s thigh area. In both photos there was a center area that

The Attacks On The World Trade Center
Many people remember where they were, what they were doing, and how they reacted to the
news of the attacks on the World Trade Center. Questions running through people s minds would
be who was responsible for this, and how could we let something this dreadful happen to this
great nation of ours. About 14 years ago the United States was not involved in any type of war,
believe it or not, ISIS did not exist, and people were not aware of the Islamic terrorist group, al
Qaeda, and their leader Osama bin Laden. The United States surveillance state was much smaller
than what it is today, and airport security was extremely lenient. September 11th, 2001 marks a
gruesome day in history that greatly impacted and still influences the decisions that are made in
the United States today. It was a beautiful, sunny morning at the World Trade Center in New York
when things went from good to bad extremely quick. At 8:46 AM American Airlines flight 11,
coming from Boston, crashed into the side of the north tower. This was the first of four planes that
were hijacked on 9/11. Most people who witnessed the first collision thought it was only a small
commuter plane that accidentally crashed. However, seventeen minutes later, the second plane,
United Airlines flight 175, also coming from Boston, crashed into the south tower. Everyone knew

The Impact Of Digital Technology On Society
With new technical breakthroughs happening every minute, technology is advancing far beyond
our imagination. The internet has become increasingly accessible with new smartphones and
smart devices, and with them came new social media applications. Social media has now
become a large factor in the lives of many people across the globe as a means of finding and
distributing information. People spend more and more time on the internet, and less time having
face to face human interactions. Instead of human interactions and networking, popularity and
social status is now based on friends on Facebook, followers on Twitter, and Instagram likes .
The lack of meaningful social interactions has caused an increase in mental health issues such as
social anxiety and depression, and adversely impacts human society. Digital technology
negatively affects happiness because it causes loneliness, mental illness and a disconnection from

Mozart And Beethoven s Musical Origins
Haydn began his musical career as a choirboy in Vienna up until the age of 17. Mozart and
Beethoven s musical origins are similar, both coming from families with musical backgrounds.
Mozart s father taught him and his sister before taking them to tour throughout Europe.
Beethoven also studied with his father before receiving his study abroad opportunity in Vienna
in 1792. After serving as a choirboy, Haydn found himself in need of a means to make a living.
He was barely able to support himself as a freelance musician. Haydn s first serious position

time that Haydn began to write some of his first symphonies. Most of Haydn s earlier symphonies
were three movement works (fast slow fast), somewhat like the Italian opera overture. Other
symphonies were four movement works arranged much like a sonata de chiesa. In 1761, Haydn
began working for the EsterhГЎzy princes, spending nearly 30 years at the EsterhГЎzy court. He
composed at every wish of the EsterhГЎzy princes; any work they demanded. Haydn s duties
included conducting, training, and supervising all musicians, and maintaining instruments. He built

During the week of May 25, I had the privilege to attend a conference in Washington D.C. called
NCORE, the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity. Conference topics ranged from police
brutality, mass incarceration, Ferguson to moving towards identity after liberation. Since I am an

Before we go into this, we have to understand the difference between the foreigner and the
American. When Muslims immigrate to the US, they are faced with the constant stares of
onlookers who are confused of what they are, where they come from, and when are they leaving.
As you can tell, Americans have always seen Muslims as the other , but tensions intensified after
the 9/11 attacks. The 9/11 attacks brought Muslim culture to the forefront. Many people started
performing hate crimes against Muslims and Islamic nations. The American government has
sanctioned surveillance and investigations into Islamic nations in order to prevent another 9/11
attack. The government has perpetuated this hatred towards Muslims on the basis that since all
terrorists are Muslims, all Muslims must be terrorists. Furthermore, Americans have this idea
that Muslims should apologize for the 9/11 attacks. The entire Muslim culture was not
responsible for 9/11. Although it seems to be easy to point the finger at one group of people, it
becomes difficult when you are blaming a group of people on one person s actions. If Americans
expect an apology for Muslims, all whites should be prepared to apologize to blacks for slavery.
The apology concept is complete ludicrous. If you believe that all Muslims are terrorists, this
judgment makes the statement that all blacks are criminals true. If either one are true, how do we
explain Barack Obama and Farah Pandith. In addition, airport customs have used the 9/11 attacks
as an excuse for random security checks of Muslims. This promotes an almost majority rule of
widespread racial profiling of Muslims. On the airport, there are numerous customs checkpoints for
Homeland Security that takes a minimum of 2 hours to catch your plane. Americans even have this
fear of terror
