Marijuana Affects User
How Does Marijuana Affect the User? Marijuana is possibly the most controversial drug to date. The
drug is so controversial because of the health hazards it poses but also has shown signs of being
utilized as medicine. For decades, marijuana has been used to suppress the symptoms of people with
chronic pain or recovering from a different medical instance. Is this drug, a drug that has the potential
to help heal but also cause more damage, a drug that should be labeled safe to use? The subject has
been debated and will be debated for an unknown period of time. There is a combination of positive
and negative effects on the user. Marijuana is a drug increasingly being smoked across the nation.

Monsters Social Commentary
Monsters (2010) is a modern day fictional monster film which, acts as a social commentary, touching
upon political dilemmas, science fiction, romance and public anxieties. The narrative of the film based
in Mexico is a world in which the monsters are huge octopus like aliens. For the past 6 years they have
lived in a large area of Mexico that has now been confined as an infected zone however, a huge wall
has been built on the Mexico USA border to keep the aliens out. The film follows a photographer; one
of the main characters, Andrew, and his boss daughter (Sam) the other main character as he warily
attempts to escort her safely back to her father in the USA after a rogue alien attack left her injured,
and the romance between the two throughout their journey. This film uses these aliens with dramatic,
symbolic effect to also act as a metaphorical narrative for current societal issues; offering a pragmatic
analysis of these underlying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The image of the warzone is elaborated throughout the film, with the settings including tanks,
weapons and general destruction. Another scene in the film when Andrew and Sam got in the cab,
seeing the destructed buildings and Sam asked the taxi driver, Do you feel safe living here? and the
taxi driver replied, Where would we go? My work, my family is all here. This representation is an
iconic resemblance imitating areas of real present civilian conflict zones such as those in Afghanistan
and Iraq, portraying the destruction of the lives of the people who live there and the difficulties faced
by those who have loved ones entangled in conflict, either as a military or civilian presence. Although
we are aware that this destruction was in fact caused by conflict between military and the aliens, the
way the scene has been composed and edited shows clear visual similarities to images depicted in the
media of destruction in contemporary

Mexican Revolution Research Paper
The Mexican Revolution, also known as The Mexican War of Independence was a time of suffering
and oppression for the Spanish people which lamentably led to the decrease of economic and political
stability and power. While the nations of Europe were endeavoring towards the conquering of land
throughout the world, the Mexicans started to conquer and colonize in the western hemisphere. Power
was demanded by the people and of most social classes which ended in rebellion. The Mexican
Revolution, which took place from 1810 and ended in 1821 was what ultimately led towards the
creation of independence and a constitution, in which was all made possible by the citizens who
advocated and rebelled to get the outcome desired. The Mexican Revolution was caused by the
Peninsular War and effects it had as an outcome, salons and the ideas discussed at them, and the
geography. The Peninsular War involved Spain, Portugal, and England, all ... Show more content on

They were who ultimately convinced them to join in and support the Independence Revolution. This

The European Exploration Of America
The discovery of America opened up the door for many people to find a new home and also a new
identity. The European explorers of the late 15th and 16th centuries did not discover America; the
native people had already lived and flourished there for many years. The European exploration of
America is notable because it is the start of the mentality among Americans the fuels the need to travel
from home in order to find oneself. Since the beginning, the settlers in America have been people who
left home to find a new life where they could live successful lives. While this is a theme in all types of
literature, it is one that is especially prevalent in American literature because the settlers were an entire
people who left their home in search of something better. Some of those people left to find themselves
in their religion or to find new ways to make money, but all in all the discovery of America was also
the discovery of a new people. The sensation of discovery fueled the early explorers, the settlers, the
revolutionaries, the transcendentalists, and American people to this day. The beginning of this trend in
American literature was when the first Europeans found the Americas.
Christopher Columbus is regarded as the man who discovered America, when is reality he only
discovered the Caribbean. Author and Professor Gerald Vizenor believes the appropriate this to say is
that Columbus found the Americas because the land mass already had many people living on it and

Mellitus And Atherosclerosis
Diabetes mellitus and atherosclerosis are two diseases that share a relationship between each other.
My research paper will focus on this relationship and ways to manage them. People with diabetes
mellitus who have atherosclerosis are at a higher risk for developing macro and micros vascular
complications. One reason for this is an increase incident of plaque instability and blood clotting. This
is a consequence of the decreased size of the lumen of the blood vessel and the raised capillary
pressure. Diabetes mellitus long term complications alters the normal cell function of endothelium
(smooth muscle) and platelets cells of the vascular system. These changes lead to widespread lesions
of the arterial walls that are associated with atherosclerosis. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

True West The Mother And Old Man Analysis
2. In the play True West the Mother and Old Man play as though own caricatures of the New West and
the Old West. The reason i see the Mother and Old Man as caricatures is do to their rather exaggerated
characteristics to what they represent, for example take the Old Man; an old poor man who lives out in
the desert wasting his money away on alcohol and who knows what. He is almost an example of a
cheesy Western; An old man with no teeth and drunk at the bar. Austin and Lee also see him in vastly
different lights. Austin has great disdain for his Old Man, he see him as a lost case. He s not gonna
change. and Let s leave the old man out of it. is the way Austin views him, and when you add the idea
that the Old Man is a caricature of the Old ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Scene 7 when Austin says to Lee: Here s a thought. Saul Kimmer ... He thinks we re the same
person. is another example to the similarity of them being each half of the same coin. If you approach
the idea of Austin and Lee being one person the conflict with himself True West turns from being
brothers against another to a single artist s conflict of methodology vs creativity and Art for profit vs
art as art. In the case of methodology vs creativity this fusion of Austin and Lee struggle to write a
screenplay. In True West, Austin is methodical without the small inkling of of something creative,
while Lee is abuzz with idea but no idea how to put them on paper. Neither of them can write a truly
good screenplay, as Lee put it: I got a good story! I know it s a good story. I just need a little help is
all. it s as if this singular person can t be creative unless he has a method of conveying the creativity .
On the matter of art for profit vs art as art both change their viewpoint drastically thought out the play.
At the start of the play to Austin screenwriting is his career and his income viewing his work more as
a project then art. Lee on the other hand views screenwriting more just look into the arts even saying
You may not know it but I did a little art myself once. as if it was only something to just dabble in.
Later on in the play when the fusion of the two characters (who have had way too much to drink) they
start to focus on the complexities of writing.

Louis Riel Research Paper
Riel The Hero
Louis Riel; one of the most important figures in Canada s history. This interesting character was born
in Winnipeg, the town of St. Boniface in the red river settlement. Riel grew up with a Francophone
catholic society, but he classified as a francophone Metis. In the early life of Louis Riel, he was sent
off to study at the College de Montreal. 1868 was the year he returned to his hometown. Louis Riel s
name is still greatly remembered to this day.
Louis Riel was definitely a hero. All he wanted was equality for his people (Francophone Metis.)
Because of this, Riel lead the Red River Rebellion. Soon, Riel also lead the North West Rebellion.
Louis Riel cared about his people s rights, so much, he declared the Red River Rebellion, or the Red
River Resistance in 1869. The Reballion was sparked by the transfer of a territory called Rupert s
Land to the young country of Canada. The Métis only took up a small portion of Rupert s Land, but
they still feared their culture and land rights were going to be taken away while still under Canadian
control. The Métis people were not very happy, so the Metis announced a rebellion, (Lead by Louis
Riel.) The uprising led to the creation of the province of Manitoba. The ... Show more content on

returned, he sent a petition to Ottawa stating the concerns, a request for their own provincial
government, and a voice in Federal Government. The Rebellion started when Riel purchased weapons,
seized a church, and created a second provincial government. Louis Riel showed that he really cared
for his peoples rights by doing a rebellon not once, but

What Role Do Women Play In A Utopian Society
Utopia Meant for Everyone
The equality between men and women is something that has been desired to be integrated in society
by many. Woman have been the inferior sex for many decades. They were always seen as men s
property. They would be given away for marriage without their consent at the age of 13 and their
received less education than the men. (Cartwright, par. 5 7) With time, it changed, they were allowed
to get better educated and thanks to the fights and protests, they gained rights. Yet, even today with all
the efforts to change the situation and all the progress we have made, the case remains the same.
Women are still considered inferior to men. Society is lead by men and their beliefs. In North
America, one of the social goals is to live the American dream and the dream is in favor of a man s
view of a perfect world. It doesn t take into consideration that this dream isn t what both sexes have
envisioned. This paper will argue that a man s utopia is a woman s dystopia. This argument will be
proven by the roles women played in utopian literature and in real modern life.
First, I will describe the origin of the concept of utopia and how it evolved over the years. Then I will
compare two utopian based literary works to prove how older ... Show more content on

century the biggest advances in women s rights were made especially in the United States. During the

patriotic duties to fill in for the men in the public and private workforce sectors. (Foust and Bradshaw,

back, the women were supposed to go back to the kitchen and serve their husbands, also known as

Taxation Without Representation
Oppressors or Bullies? Taxation Without Representation Why weren t the thirteen colonies willing to
abide by England s laws? While some people were horrified with the Stamp Act, others were
completely accepting of this new act. Janis Herbert stated in her book, The American Revolution for
Kids, that after the French and Indian War, England had many debts, which obviously needed to be
paid (3). England s Parliament decided the American colonists needed to pay their debts for them.
England went about this matter by raising taxes and requiring a stamp for fifty different documents
(Gale Encyclopedia Par. 2). Since America was not yet a country, and had no representation, they were
trapped with the laws Parliament passed. Even though England was trying to pay off their debts from
the French Indian War, they went about it the wrong way, because they expected the American
colonists to pay by increased tax dollars. This is an example of taxation without representation,
because the American colonists didn t have representatives, or the opportunity to vote. To help pay off
their debt, England scheduled the initiation of the Stamp Act, which placed a tax on fifty different
documents, on November 1, 1765 (Gale Par. 2; Brindell 13). This act was to put a tax upon every
paper commonly called a pamphlet and upon every newspaper (Copeland 193). Because the Stamp
Act was an internal tax, which meant this tax law was only enforced in America, this made the
colonists even

The Importance Of The Right To Bear Arms
According to the Heeding God s Call website More than 30 people are shot and murdered each day .
One of the first 10 Amendments of Bill Of Rights is the right to keep and bear arms. This is stated in
the Constitution. In other words a person has the right to carry a gun. Each year about 4.5 million
firearms, including approximately 2 million handguns, are sold in the United States which we can
conclude that more and more people are starting to buy guns whether it s for protection or simply the
feeling of powerful in having a gun. In a world where a person have the rights to bear arms and gun
violence are increasing, you start to question if a person should be allowed to carry a gun in the first

Alzheimer s Disease Compromises Cognitive and Memory Skills
Alzheimer s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease of the brain wherein a person afflicted
with the said disease would have compromised cognition and memory skills, and eventual
deterioration of the skill to execute uncomplicated activities. According to experts, most individuals
do not manifest the symptoms for Alzheimer s disease until they are over the age of 60. This disease
affects more than 5.1 million Americans. Alzheimer s disease is named after Dr. Alois Alzheimer who
first discovered deviations from normal tissues of healthy individuals in the brain tissue of a lady in
1906. The woman, who showed symptoms of erratic behavior, loss of memory, and problems with
communication, died of a then unfamiliar mental disorder. This led Dr. Alzheimer to investigate the
cause of her unusual death. He assessed the brain of the woman and found that there were many
anomalous masses (amyloid plaques) and intertwined bundles of fiber (neurofibrillary tangles).
Scientists today have pinpointed the qualities of Alzheimer s to be a) tangles in the brain
(neurofibrillary tangles), b) plaque in the brain (amyloid plaques), and c) loss of connections among
nerve cells. Experts know little about the true causes of AD (Alzheimer s disease), however they have
proposed the amyloid hypothesis to explain how the disease begins. In people afflicted with AD, lethal
transformations are happening in the brain. A buildup of amyloid plaque (β amyloid clumps), caused

Why Did The Vietnam War Began Essay
Do you know how the Vietnam War started? Technically the war was never declared a war so the
Vietnam War should be called the Vietnam conflict. The United States got involved in this mess as
early as 1950. Most of the men in the Vietnam War knew what they were getting into because most of
them volunteered. The countries in the Vietnam war were The United States, South Vietnam, China,
Viet Cong and North Korea. South Vietnam s main ally was the United States. North Korea s main
ally was the Viet Cong. North Vietnam was backed by all the communist countries like the Soviet
Union and The Republic of China so North Vietnam were The Bad Guys as some people would call
them. South Vietnam was backed by all the non communist countries like Australia and the United
States. North and South Vietnam had large differences in the way they ran their country. That is one of

the U.S. had failed to stop communist expansion in Eastern Europe, China, Korea and lately Cuba,

A Brief Note On Poultry Industry And Nepal
Abstract Poultry Industry in Nepal One of the most important aspects of livestock production is
ensuring producers have adequate biosecurity for their facilities. Biosecurity is procedures or
measures designed to protect the population against harmful biological or biochemical substances.
Whether it be small scale or large scale, the easiest way to maintain the cleanliness of a facility and
ensure the health of the animal is through proper sanitation. This is extremely important in Nepal as
the poultry industry accounts for 4% of the gross domestic product (GDP). In fact, there are over 50
billion chickens raised each year for both meat and eggs with a meat production of 42,180 metric

occurs as it has fertile soils and has an elevation of 70 m above sea level.

Temperatures in Nepal range from 40℃ in the Himalayas, to 40℃ in the Terai. Spring lasts from
March to May, summer lasts from June to August, fall lasts from September to November and winter
lasts from December to February. Throughout the summer months, monsoon clouds cover most of
Nepal, raining almost every day and accounting for more than 1000 mm of rainfall each year.
Population
Nepal has a population of 28.7 million people. The most common religion practiced throughout Nepal
is Hinduism, followed by Buddhism. As they are a developing country, Nepal has to cope with
overpopulation. The capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, houses 1,442,271 people. The average age for
Nepalese is 21 years old, while the life expectancy is 66 years of age. Most of Nepal s population lies

The Transnational Security Threats from Failed States
Failed and weak states are posing greater security threats to the world than it were ever imagined. The
collapse of autonomy and sovereignty among states is therefore a susceptible situation in the modern
world. Developed states like the United States and other notable security sensitive nations are focusing
their security efforts towards the failed states. This is mainly because these weak states have become
breeding sites for criminal activities, and terrorist groups have established strong bases in such
countries. The challenges posed by these failed states on security issues are far reaching, and reliable
measures have to be taken in order to safeguard the safety of the global population. Many forms of

The transitional crime groups which perpetrate international security threats have diverse networks,
whose operational offices are mainly located in failed states( Shahar, 2007). Thus, corruption and
unmonitored state operations can lead to encourage transnational insecurity, thus challenging the
traditional security concerns.
Peace and stability has been affected by resource wars in the world. Failed states which are well
endowed with natural resources lack the proper resource management strategies, a factor that leads to
insecurity ( Mittelman, 2010). Many criminal groups have used the advantage of weak economic and
political policies in failed resources to exploit natural resources. The proceeds from this illegal trading
are used to stage wars and arm rebel groups. In return, when the rebel groups are economically
empowered by the failed states, they perpetrate crimes which have global significance. For example,
the resource wars in Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan have led to genocides. In addition, the
diamonds in Sierra Leone and Angola have led to transnational bloodshed in the West African region
as well as the Janjaweed group in Darfur used illegal oil proceeds to perpetrate civil wars that have
claimed millions of life( Mittelman, 2010). Therefore, the lack of proper management of natural
resources in failed states has compromised the traditional security concerns in the world.

Machiavellian Villain Research Paper
The Machiavellian Villain Shakespeare s early plays deal with historical moments from the English
throne. His morality and revenge plays can be seen as historical records of kings who are legitimate or
illegitimate to rule Britain. These plays represent the influence of Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince on
Shakespeare. Shakespeare s early plays explore the idea of a Machiavellian villain of Elizabethan
drama. According to Charles Ross, the term Machiavellian is used to describe the actions of a political
leader who ignores claims of conscience and instead justifies the ends by the means (317). The
political leader is more concerned about his political expediency that is above morality and takes
advantage of his authority and power. Shakespeare s Richard III considers as the most Machiavellian
villain of the morality plays. Shakespeare concentrates on the transformation of Richard into
Machiavellian character because of the crown of England. Richard is a significant figure in the

The Expansive First Movement From Schubert s Rosamunde
The expansive first movement from Schubert s Rosamunde quartet is an odyssey in which the
principal melody, first heard in A minor, sets out on an epic quest for the attainment of A major. Laid
out in a straight forward Sonata Form, the Primary theme appears as a triple period, with the last of the
three phrases being in A major. The violent cadence in m. 32 dramatically switches the mode back into
a menacing A minor, completely forfeiting the three tries in which the Primary theme so yearningly
made to establish itself in A major. In looking through the movement, not only are there an abundance

Recapitulation before the Coda. Otherwise, this triplet figure features strongly in the more flurried
parts of the movement, namely in the transitional material of the Primary theme and the transitional
material of the Secondary theme. They are conspicuously missing from areas of relative passivity,
such as the main thematic areas of both the Primary and Secondary themes. Enigmatically, the triplet
figure does not feature in the Development. It is possible to see that this triplet figure features most
prominently in areas that are highly unstable. Beginning right after the cataclysmic A minor chord in
m. 32, the triplet figure first appears in m. 33 as just a tail of the cadence, as if it were turbulence
caused by the suddenness of the cadence. It appears again shortly after another strong cadence in D
minor (down one step in the circle of fifths), again as an after thought. The triplet figure returns again,
this time with full force and intention in m. 44, acting as both the motor rhythmic element as well as a
linear underpinning in a sequence of the descending circle of fifths. The figure disappears in m. 56
into eighth notes through rhythmic augmentation, just as the the movement reaches the Medial
Caesura. The triplet figure is then absent for the next ten measures, where an antecedent consequent

The Issue Of Domestic Violence
When we hear about domestic violence, we always assumed that it s about women. Women are not
always the victims, also men, children, elderly or mentally/physically disabled people as well.
Victimology is a topic that has been intriguing to me for a while. It certainly has come a long way
since 1947 when Benjamin Mendelsohn coined the term. According to all the history that has been
provided since that time many improvements have taken place. Such as the accessibility to
information regarding the amount of individuals that are victims of any crime in any specific area at
any time. All the reforms, movements and implementations of theories, laws, rights and programs that
have taken hold since that time period have been very beneficial for society and makes us more aware
of what is out there and how to be prepared for the worst case possible scenario. Out of the many
things mentioned in the book Victimology, Leah E. Daigle/Lisa R. Muftic, I was greatly intrigued by
the prevention section of it. One thing that caught my eye was the fact that many if not all come to the
same conclusion when it comes to crime itself which is, is just simply easier to reduce/remove
opportunities that would put us at risk rather than swaying the motivation of any type of offender.
Many will argue that victims do get their fair share of compensation, but they really get what they
deserve? Victims have been around for a long time and many if not all individuals have been affected
either personally

Stereotypes In Stargirl By Jerry Spinelli
Is being a one of a kind a key to success? Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli is a novel about a girl that attends a
new school and everyone starts to become aware of the fact that she is not normal . As people start
getting to know Stargirl, they start to realize that she is quite annoying due to her distinctive
personality. For instance, she starts going around the lunchroom and starts singing happy birthday to
whomever when it s their birthday. From this I can infer the author s intended message is to be
nobody, but yourself in a world where everyone expects you be just like them. This message was
revealed throughout the story in many situations. As Stargirl was new at Mica High, she had no one to
sit with, but as time passed one day the text stated No longer did Stargirl eat ... Show more content on

enchanted the crowd. The bigger highlight of Stargirls cheers was that the basketball team had perfect
winning record. In the journey of Stargirl s cheerleading career she had gained an enormous amount of
popularity until one day. Stargirl made a big mistake that the crowd didn t like her for, but in her
opinion she thought it was the right thing to do. As Stargirl was cheering she decided to cheer for the

The Propaganda, the Ministries, and the Leader
North Korea is an extreme isolated country and is known for continuously violating human rights.
Defectors, North Koreans who escaped the isolated country, continue to report that North Korea
maintains a record of consistent, severe human rights violations, stemming from the government s
total control over all activity (North Korea: Government). The similarities between North Korean
society and the society in the dystopian novel 1984 by George Orwell are very much alike. A
government constructed by sole trust in a supreme leader, complete control over the media, and
sectioned ministries with individual roles that restrict the people from various free will behaviors and

Amethyst Research Paper
Birthstone Amethyst
The deep purple amethyst has long been assigned spirital, purifying and protective qualities. Found
across the world its use has been traced back to Neolithic Europe. It holds strong associations to love,
healing and both physical and spiritual protection. It s energies are that of fire, it is said to inflame the
passions and spark creativity, boost spirituality and encourage both logic and temperance in the
wearer.
Most closely associated with St Valentine, Bachuss, and Dionysus, it represents faithful love and
ecclesiastical dignity. In the Chakra the amethyst is the stone of the Crown Chakra, aiding in the

the students enthusiasm for learning science (Hollis, 1995). This area of focus does involve teaching

learning about science. Uniting the use of technology with academic content enhances the overall

Reflective stance The researcher looks at teaching and learning as being universal. Students all learn
differently and because it is not known how a specific student learns, the researcher did not believe
that they were a giver of learning, but was thought to be very assertive about pedagogy of the material.
The students must be willingness to learn and their enthusiasm for discovering knowledge and
developing understanding would tell where students are when learning. If students show that they are
more interested in learning, then they are more prone to wanting to gain the new information. So by
the students showing a positive influence from using technology, it can show that it related to the
researcher reflective stance.
Action
The outcome of the study were that the level of enthusiasm for learning science was increased through
the incorporation of computers and multimedia software into the middle school science curriculum
(Hollis, 1995). So the integration of technology would be used regularly in the researcher s classroom
since there was a success.

Botanic Gardens, which lay on the east side of the rowdy University of California Riverside Campus.
On a mission to learn more about the Gardens and all it has to offer, I scheduled to meet up with Pam
Ferre, an Administrative Assistant, who knew a significant amount of information about the Gardens.
We agreed to meet up at Schneider House, but as I walked through I lost myself in the beauty that
nature here had to offer causing me to lose track of the asphalt road that should have directed me to
our meet up destination. The UCR Botanic Gardens is composed of 40 acres, of which thriving plant

instead of struggling to find my way through the several footpaths. Finally, we gathered at the turtle
pond where Pam approached me with a smile, dressed in a flowing white blouse, round black
sunglasses, and stylish hiking sandals, an outfit fit for the 100 degree weather. Underneath the canopy
of the Sequoia Sempervirens, trees which towered several feet high, we sat on a stone bench. From
our point we overlooked a pond in which three medium sized turtles rested on a small log which had
fallen from a tree near by. As the birds chirped soothing tunes above us and lizards zigzagged across
the dirt path Pam began to tell me about UCR s Botanic Gardens. Well, my first question is for you

Energy East Pipeline Project (EEPP)
Introduction and Background The focus of this project relates specifically to the Energy East Pipeline
Project (EEPP) which is a large energy related infrastructure project in Canada. By extension, the
implications of this discussion regarding the EEPP also involve debate regarding the future of Canada
s energy independence and the character, in part, of its environmental policies. The EEPP itself is one
of the largest energy infrastructure projects undertaken in Canada s history. The data indicates that the
EEPP will consist of 4,600 kilometres of pipeline designed to transport crude oil in amounts up to 1.1

New Brunswick and Quebec City.[1] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The EEPP is designed to allow Canadian interests to transport the crude oil produced from its oil
sands in Alberta to other international markets. Therefore, understanding how the EEPP is merely a
reflection of the oil sands development is a prerequisite to understanding the EEPP itself. Data and
information already suggest that the negative environmental and health effects associated with the
Alberta oil sands development are significant in which the Woodland Caribou is projected to become
extinct within the entire Alberta region due to the destruction of its habitat and also the cancer rate for
the First Nations people at Fort Chipewyan is 30% higher over previous levels.[5] These and
associated developments over the past decade or so are revealing just how poorly managed the
environmental aspects of the oil sands project are. There is a clear lack of oversight, environmental
management and accountability for these types of negative outcomes. The supposition is such that if
the oil sand fields are so managed so poorly from an environmental perspective then there can be little
doubt that the EEPP will likely be just as poorly

Secession Of The Texas Economy
In today s society with so many disagreements between the state and federal government going on the
thought crosses some Texans minds about secession. The movement, headed by the Texas Nationalist
Movement and the Tea Party, is seeking to remove the state from the union and institute Texas as a
new country. Many questions arise over the topic of secession covering topics such as economy,
currency, population, and if Texas would be helped or hurt by leaving the United States federal
government behind. It has been shown that Texas has a much larger population than many countries as
well as gold to back a currency should it decide to create one. The Texas economy is extremely strong
with a mass of exports and natural resources being gathered in the state. These natural resources tied
with other products made in Texas give the state one of the strongest economies in the world. Even
with all this knowledge the question over secession still persists. The Texas economy stands 12th in
the world and stands as a reason that secession might be possible. From minerals to gemstones, oil to
natural gas, and animal products to the creation of electrical equipment the Texas economy stands
strong even when other parts of the world are struggling. Among the natural resources are 16 ports
whose economic impact on the United States totals in the billions. For the past decade, Texas has been

Essay about The Full Effects of War
To some, war is a necessary evil. The United States has been involved in many wars since it s
founding in the late 1700 s and will in all probability continue to be involved in several more wars
throughout the continuation its future. The wars the United States have been involved in previously
and now currently a part of, results from a culmination of reasons (some necessary and others
unnecessary). Although war is not always a popular thing to become a part of, the full effects of the
war can t possibly be known and may never be known as long as the United States is a country.

Further, several other physical effects beg for US citizens to support the individuals. A few of these
conditions could possibly be; the loss of limbs, sight, hearing, etc. A writer for Aging and Mental
Health magazine states that in any traumatic war experience, malnutrition, immunological
deficiencies, and chronic infections lead to greatly increased mortality rates soon after the war and
over their lifetime (Davies 100). Further investigation would show an individual that these effects are
prominent throughout the world currently, even without war being the cause. Many underdeveloped
countries around the world currently have the aforementioned malnutrition and suffering. This
suffering will continue forever unless their countries develop to the point where these helpless people
can be taken care of. Hopefully the United States, supposedly being one of the most developed

shows you the glamorous side celebrating new clients, picking a logo, launching a site. However, as
we saw with working at home, the shiny newness of being your own boss will definitely wear off.
After the honeymoon phase comes the actual work. The real hustle. The part where days run together
and the to do list seems never ending. Days when inspiration is just as low as incoming client

this phase is where many business fail. This phase exposes weakness, tests willpower and drains

Differences And Components Of The Baptist Faith And Message
Introduction Baptists are believers with profound beliefs in the authority of the Old and New
Testaments. In order to teach and defend the faith, Baptist churches and associations adopted doctrinal
commitments and core beliefs through the Baptist Faith and Message (BF M). The Statement were
derived from the New Hampshire Confession of Faith of 1883, but was revised to meet the needs of
Baptists. The BF M statements were considered merely a confession of the Baptists beliefs and not
meant to be a creed. Fundamentally, the role of the Baptist Faith and Message was to adopt statements
that would clarify the atmosphere and remove some causes of misunderstanding, friction, and
apprehension These confessions of faith were implemented to confirm repentance to God, perpetuate
faith in Jesus Christ, and fulfil the Great Commission. Further, the statements are intended to clarify
and provide guidance of the basic beliefs that stands as the foundation of the Baptist s faith, witness,
and worship. As an autonomous body, the local congregation is considered to be independent in its
faith and fellowship of the gospel.
This paper will compare and contrast the ecclesiological portions of the Baptist Faith and Message
doctrinal statements of 1925 (section XII), 1963 (section VI), and 2000 (section VI). Further, it will
identify and explain similarities and differences in the three statements. Finally, it will explain the
changes in the Baptist Faith Message.

First, dissection of the phrenoesophageal membrane and dislocation of the GEJ into the chest do not

This crus arises from the anterior longitudinal ligament overlying the lumbar vertebrae and encircles
the distal esophagus in a scissorlike fashion to form a 2 cm long hiatal canal. The proximal one third
of the LES is located proximal to the diaphragm and the distal two thirds of the sphincter is below the
diaphragm and intra abdominal. The extrinsic sphincter component of measured LES pressure is
formed by the striated muscular fibers of the diaphragm. The basal tonic pressure of the LES is mainly
from the esophageal components of the sphincter, and the superimposed increments in pressure during
inspiration are caused by contractions of the crural diaphragm. The magnitude of the increase in
pressure during inspiration is directly proportional to the force of contraction of the crural diaphragm.
During tidal inspiration, the increase in GEJ pressure is much smaller than during deep inspiration.
The crural diaphragm also rapidly contracts during events that increase intra abdominal pressures
(coughing, abdominal compression, and straight leg raising), thereby protecting against reflux that
might occur with these increases in gastric pressure. Both the LES and crural diaphragm relax with the
initiation of swallowing and the distal esophagus and LES are pulled 1 cm 2 cm upward by the
contractions of the longitudinal muscles. The peristaltic wave pushes the bolus in a distal direction

airbags are one of those flaws. People may believe that they don t stop people from getting hurt. This

According to our textbook, when a car crashes, the momentum will be 0. The shorter the time, the
greater the force will be. With airbags, the momentum is slowed down in a shorter amount of time,
which leads to a smaller force (Video). The video showed us that when you throw an egg at a wall, it

J1100 methodology and that archetype was developed more than five decades ago. As the chart
indicates, the Nissan Maxima is dead last in proportions among the flagship models. To my
knowledge, Nissan isn t marketing the Maxima as its large car nor as its flagship sedan. Instead, they
re emphasizing this model s sporting characteristics. Indeed, when you see the hashtag 4DSC, you re
supposed to think of the Nissan Maxima and the embellishments on the transmission stick and lights.
That hashtag stands for four door sports car, a marketing initiative that Nissan has used with the
Maxima previously. I could have stirred the pot further by adding the midsize Hyundai Sonata to the
list just above the Nissan Altima. Had I done so, you would have seen that the EPA classifies the
Sonata as a large car as it has 122.4 cubic feet of interior volume or nearly 10 cubic feet more than the
flagship

wanted to see this young mans have a successful life. Even tho she didn t get the young man she

daughter as well. If the man cued for help he still showed trust and sympathy so it is more reasonable
for the King s daughter to cue him to the door with the lady in it. Just cause the the Kings daughter is

Wild Reflection
This semester has showed me how to analyze within my writing. The class discussions throughout the
semester allowed me to think about the readings in a different way in which I was not accustomed. For
example, a discussion post regarding The Call of the Wild, we were asked, most of the human
characters are rather flat (unchanging) while the dogs personalities indicate some measure of depth
and character. What challenges does this role reversal present readers in understanding the central
theme of the story? What is the central theme ? In response, I answered, Jack London purposely shies
away from much of the human characters instincts and feelings so the readers would purposely
connect to the animals, specifically Buck and understand his instincts. The humans were not following
any of their instincts as their total focus was on the gold they had hoped to obtain. The central theme
of The Call of the Wild is Buck versus his instincts . Much of what we read can be analyzed in
different ways by different readers for example, one of my peers responded, I think that the overall
theme of the story is loyalty . So, how a reader analyses the story can be seen in different ways but
having the ability to decipher what the author is saying is the key in analyzation. When searching for
resources for my papers the idea of being able to read something and to analyze it, allowed me to
better understand what the author s point of view was. I often fell short in this area, but

Haitian revolution Essay
In 1791 revolution broke out in the French colony of Saint Domingue, later called Haiti. The Haitian
Revolution resounded in communities surrounding the Atlantic Ocean. One of the wealthiest European
outposts in the New World, the Caribbean island s western third had some of the largest and most
brutal slave plantations. Slave laborers cultivated sugar, coffee, indigo, and cotton, and they endured
horrible death rates, requiring constant infusions of slaves from Africa. In 1789 roughly 465,000 black
slaves lived in the French colony on the island, along with fewer than 31,000 whites. In addition, there
were about 23,000 free blacks and mixed race people called gens de couleur, who might own land and
accrue wealth but had no political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The war became more complicated in 1793 when the British invaded Saint Domingue. The Spanish,
who had a colony on the eastern two thirds of Hispaniola, also entered the fray by supporting armies
of escaped slaves, including a force under the command of an ex slave named Toussaint Louverture.
Pressed on all sides, commissioners from republican France, led by Leger Felicte Sonthonax in the
northern part of the colony, began to extend freedom and citizenship to every slave in summer and
autumn 1793. Inspired by this application of the rights of man, the French National Convention
abolished slavery in all French possessions on February 4, 1794. This action transformed the conflict.
Louverture abandoned the Spanish and began to fight for the French and the freedom of his people.
Over the next couple of years, Louverture consolidated power on the island and created rigid rules that
compelled ex slaves to work on plantations so as to make the island productive again. In 1795,
because of events in Europe, the Spanish signed a peace treaty that ceded their colony on the island to
the French. In 1798 Louverture negotiated a treaty with the British, convincing them to leave the
island and promising not to support any slave rebellions in British colonies. He also sought to develop
commercial relations with the United States, even as the Quasi War (1798 1800) broke out with
France, by sending Joseph Bunel to Philadelphia. Bunel was so successful that he dined

Wheelhead s Role In The Hydrosphere
The continuous change of carbon in the universe eventually leads back to itself. In this story, a carbon
atom, named wheelhead, goes through this cycle without even realizing it. Wheelhead started in a
plant biosphere contained in a tree, but not any tree, the hardwood of a pinyon pine. Wheelhead was
here for millions of years as a part of this tree. Natural processes struck Wheelhead, like it had
thousands of times before, and buried him in a landslide. Over time, the compression of Wheelhead
and his similar carbon atoms, resulted in the formation of Wheelhead into coal. Wheelhead is no
longer in a plant biosphere, instead, Wheelhead must adjust to the fossil fuel lithosphere.
In the fossil fuel lithosphere, many chunks of coal, just like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For forty years, Wheelhead insulates heat again before, eventually, he dissolves into Lake Powell.
Wheelhead now takes on his role of being carbon in Lake Powell. This occurrence resulted in
Wheelhead entering the hydrosphere.
Wheelhead is a part of the groundwater in the hydrosphere. Wheelhead remained here for 100 years
before the next step in his journey occurs. Wheelhead precipitated out of the water as the mineral
travertine. Next Wheelhead will find himself again in the lithosphere, but this time, in the lithosphere
limestone.
Wheelhead finds himself a part of Kaibab limestone in the lithosphere. Millions of years Wheelhead
will do almost nothing but move with the Earth. Nature, however, had a different plan. Wheelhead was
oxidized, which resulted with himself in his familiar gaseous form of CO2. As gases do, Wheelhead
entered the atmosphere once again.
Being CO2 wasn t what Wheelhead wanted necessarily. Wheelhead thought of the old times where he
remembered being part of a tree. For 62 years he dreamt of one day returning to a tree. While he
would not become a tree, Wheelhead did get some of what he wanted. Wheelhead was absorbed by a
plant once again, but instead of being rudely eaten by a deer, he was able to be a part of this plant
comfortably until he decayed into

Utilitarianism Is Inconsistent With The Demands Of Friendship
Friendship requires partiality and altruism. If one aims to build a friendship, s/he must show partiality
by making sacrifices that benefit this friend in lieu of maximizing pleasure for all. Utilitarianism
requires persons to act only in ways that benefit hedonic utility maximizing pleasure while minimizing
pain. Utilitarianism forgoes partiality and requires that an individual only commit actions that benefit
the greater good. Thus, friendship an act that requires partiality and Utilitarianism an act that requires
impartiality cannot coexist. This raises problems for the utilitarian because many persons would agree
that friendship serves an integral function in any human life. It seems that no ethical framework
should require persons to forgo anything central to our understanding of life as Utilitarianism might. A
person who wholly espouses Utilitarianism cannot serve as a good friend because the two contradict
each other. Utilitarianism requires one to act impartially while friendship builds its foundation on
partiality.
Roadmap:
In this essay, I will argue for Shafer Landau s suggestion that Utilitarianism is inconsistent with the
demands of friendship. First, I will assert that a true utilitarian cannot also act as a true friend as result
of the two having conflicting and contradictory ends. Next, I will object my original argument using
the claim that Utilitarianism does often suggest that persons offer preference to their friends and
family. Finally, I

The Negative Impacts Of Women In Technology Education
Women s educational level is increased from the last few years by the invention of media literacy.
Women are encouraged to learn technology education and choose a new field for their future. It has
been explored that female applicants are less hired because they watched by both female and male
controllers as less skilled than male applicant. Empowerment takes place with the CARE s leadership
model that has been tested since 2009 in 28 countries. Girls get to know so much about this, and they
get leadership qualities through which they get more aware about equal rights. (Stromquist 318 19)
These kind of partiality highlight the gender, exercise that women faced at the first stage of their
occupation. Through opening new programs for girls that teach media literacy and its negative
impacts, it also opens new avenues for them, so women would be encouraged to pursue new fields of
education than what is expected from them and believe in what they want to do, regardless of what
media literacy teaches.Women plays crucial role in society development education is very important
for them.
Women are getting less opportunities to enroll in the technology class. The percentage in female
enrollment in technology classes is less than the enrollment of males. Gloeckner, Gene W. in his
article Females in Technology Education . He suggests the report on gender bias in the technical field
of education and explain there were just 10% female students in every technical field. Some

Monsters Social Commentary Monsters (2010) is a modern day fictional monster film which, acts as a social commentary, touching upon political dilemmas, science fiction, romance and public anxieties. The narrative of the film based in Mexico is a world in which the monsters are huge octopus like aliens. For the past 6 years they have lived in a large area of Mexico that has now been confined as an infected zone however, a huge wall has been built on the Mexico USA border to keep the aliens out. The film follows a photographer; one of the main characters, Andrew, and his boss daughter (Sam) the other main character as he warily attempts to escort her safely back to her father in the USA after a rogue alien attack left her injured, and the romance between the two throughout their journey. • 5. The European Exploration Of America The discovery of America opened up the door for many people to find a new home and also a new identity. The European explorers of the late 15th and 16th centuries did not discover America; the native people had already lived and flourished there for many years. The European exploration of America is notable because it is the start of the mentality among Americans the fuels the need to travel from home in order to find oneself. Since the beginning, the settlers in America have been people who left home to find a new life where they could live successful lives. While this is a theme in all types of literature, it is one that is especially prevalent in American literature because the settlers were an entire people who left their home in search of something better. Some of those people left to find themselves in their religion or to find new ways to make money, but all in all the discovery of America was also the discovery of a new people. The sensation of discovery fueled the early explorers, the settlers, the revolutionaries, the transcendentalists, and American people to this day. The beginning of this trend in American literature was when the first Europeans found the Americas. Christopher Columbus is regarded as the man who discovered America, when is reality he only discovered the Caribbean. Author and Professor Gerald Vizenor believes the appropriate this to say is that Columbus found the Americas because the land mass already had many people living on it and had contact ... • 7. True West The Mother And Old Man Analysis 2. In the play True West the Mother and Old Man play as though own caricatures of the New West and the Old West. The reason i see the Mother and Old Man as caricatures is do to their rather exaggerated characteristics to what they represent, for example take the Old Man; an old poor man who lives out in the desert wasting his money away on alcohol and who knows what. This interesting character was born in Winnipeg, the town of St. Boniface in the red river settlement. Riel grew up with a Francophone catholic society, but he classified as a francophone Metis. The Métis only took up a small portion of Rupert s Land, but they still feared their culture and land rights were going to be taken away while still under Canadian control. • 9. What Role Do Women Play In A Utopian Society Utopia Meant for Everyone The equality between men and women is something that has been desired to be integrated in society by many. Woman have been the inferior sex for many decades. They were always seen as men s property. They would be given away for marriage without their consent at the age of 13 and their received less education than the men. (Cartwright, par. 5 7) With time, it changed, they were allowed to get better educated and thanks to the fights and protests, they gained rights. Yet, even today with all the efforts to change the situation and all the progress we have made, the case remains the same. Women are still considered inferior to men. Society is lead by men and their beliefs. In North America, one of the social goals is to live the American dream and the dream is in favor of a man s view of a perfect world. It doesn t take into consideration that this dream isn t what both sexes have envisioned. This paper will argue that a man s utopia is a woman s dystopia. • 10. Taxation Without Representation Oppressors or Bullies? Taxation Without Representation Why weren t the thirteen colonies willing to abide by England s laws? While some people were horrified with the Stamp Act, others were completely accepting of this new act. Janis Herbert stated in her book, The American Revolution for Kids, that after the French and Indian War, England had many debts, which obviously needed to be paid (3). England s Parliament decided the American colonists needed to pay their debts for them. England went about this matter by raising taxes and requiring a stamp for fifty different documents (Gale Encyclopedia Par. 2). Since America was not yet a country, and had no representation, they were trapped with the laws Parliament passed. Even though England was trying to pay off their debts from the French Indian War, they went about it the wrong way, because they expected the American colonists to pay by increased tax dollars. This is an example of taxation without representation, because the American colonists didn t have representatives, or the opportunity to vote. To help pay off their debt, England scheduled the initiation of the Stamp Act, which placed a tax on fifty different documents, on November 1, 1765 (Gale Par. 2; Brindell 13). This act was to put a tax upon every paper commonly called a pamphlet and upon every newspaper (Copeland 193). According to experts, most individuals do not manifest the symptoms for Alzheimer s disease until they are over the age of 60. This disease affects more than 5.1 million Americans. Alzheimer s disease is named after Dr. Alois Alzheimer who first discovered deviations from normal tissues of healthy individuals in the brain tissue of a lady in 1906. The woman, who showed symptoms of erratic behavior, loss of memory, and problems with communication, died of a then unfamiliar mental disorder. This led Dr. Alzheimer to investigate the cause of her unusual death. He assessed the brain of the woman and found that there were many anomalous masses (amyloid plaques) and intertwined bundles of fiber (neurofibrillary tangles). Scientists today have pinpointed the qualities of Alzheimer s to be a) tangles in the brain (neurofibrillary tangles), b) plaque in the brain (amyloid plaques), and c) loss of connections among nerve cells. His morality and revenge plays can be seen as historical records of kings who are legitimate or illegitimate to rule Britain. These plays represent the influence of Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince on Shakespeare. Shakespeare s early plays explore the idea of a Machiavellian villain of Elizabethan drama. Such as the accessibility to information regarding the amount of individuals that are victims of any crime in any specific area at any time. All the reforms, movements and implementations of theories, laws, rights and programs that have taken hold since that time period have been very beneficial for society and makes us more aware of what is out there and how to be prepared for the worst case possible scenario. Out of the many things mentioned in the book Victimology, Leah E. Daigle/Lisa R. Muftic, I was greatly intrigued by the prevention section of it. One thing that caught my eye was the fact that many if not all come to the same conclusion when it comes to crime itself which is, is just simply easier to reduce/remove opportunities that would put us at risk rather than swaying the motivation of any type of offender. We agreed to meet up at Schneider House, but as I walked through I lost myself in the beauty that nature here had to offer causing me to lose track of the asphalt road that should have directed me to our meet up destination. The UCR Botanic Gardens is composed of 40 acres, of which thriving plant and animal species call their home. Knowing how enormous the Gardens are, I cell phoned Pam instead of struggling to find my way through the several footpaths. Finally, we gathered at the turtle pond where Pam approached me with a smile, dressed in a flowing white blouse, round black sunglasses, and stylish hiking sandals, an outfit fit for the 100 degree weather. Underneath the canopy of the Sequoia Sempervirens, trees which towered several feet high, we sat on a stone bench. From our point we overlooked a pond in which three medium sized turtles rested on a small log which had fallen from a tree near by. As the birds chirped soothing tunes above us and lizards zigzagged across the dirt path Pam began to tell me about UCR s Botanic Gardens. Well, my first question is for you Pam. ... Energy East Pipeline Project (EEPP) Introduction and Background The focus of this project relates specifically to the Energy East Pipeline Project (EEPP) which is a large energy related infrastructure project in Canada. By extension, the implications of this discussion regarding the EEPP also involve debate regarding the future of Canada s energy independence and the character, in part, of its environmental policies. The EEPP itself is one of the largest energy infrastructure projects undertaken in Canada s history. The data indicates that the EEPP will consist of 4,600 kilometres of pipeline designed to transport crude oil in amounts up to 1.1 million barrels a day from the Alberta oil sand fields to oil refineries and marine loading facilities in New Brunswick and Quebec City.[1] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The EEPP is designed to allow Canadian interests to transport the crude oil produced from its oil sands in Alberta to other international markets. Therefore, understanding how the EEPP is merely a reflection of the oil sands development is a prerequisite to understanding the EEPP itself. Data and information already suggest that the negative environmental and health effects associated with the Alberta oil sands development are significant in which the Woodland Caribou is projected to become extinct within the entire Alberta region due to the destruction of its habitat and also the cancer rate for the First Nations people at Fort Chipewyan is 30% higher over previous levels.[5] These and associated developments over the past decade or so are revealing just how poorly managed the environmental aspects of the oil sands project are. There is a clear lack of oversight, environmental management and accountability for these types of negative outcomes. The supposition is such that if the oil sand fields are so managed so poorly from an environmental perspective then there can be little doubt that the EEPP will likely be just as poorly ... In order to teach and defend the faith, Baptist churches and associations adopted doctrinal commitments and core beliefs through the Baptist Faith and Message (BF M). The Statement were derived from the New Hampshire Confession of Faith of 1883, but was revised to meet the needs of Baptists. The BF M statements were considered merely a confession of the Baptists beliefs and not meant to be a creed. Fundamentally, the role of the Baptist Faith and Message was to adopt statements that would clarify the atmosphere and remove some causes of misunderstanding, friction, and apprehension These confessions of faith were implemented to confirm repentance to God, perpetuate faith in Jesus Christ, and fulfil the Great Commission. Further, the statements are intended to clarify and provide guidance of the basic beliefs that stands as the foundation of the Baptist s faith, witness, and worship. The class discussions throughout the semester allowed me to think about the readings in a different way in which I was not accustomed. For example, a discussion post regarding The Call of the Wild, we were asked, most of the human characters are rather flat (unchanging) while the dogs personalities indicate some measure of depth and character. What challenges does this role reversal present readers in understanding the central theme of the story? What is the central theme ? In response, I answered, Jack London purposely shies away from much of the human characters instincts and feelings so the readers would purposely connect to the animals, specifically Buck and understand his instincts. The humans were not following any of their instincts as their total focus was on the gold they had hoped to obtain. The central theme of The Call of the Wild is Buck versus his instincts . • 46. Utilitarianism Is Inconsistent With The Demands Of Friendship Friendship requires partiality and altruism. If one aims to build a friendship, s/he must show partiality by making sacrifices that benefit this friend in lieu of maximizing pleasure for all. Utilitarianism requires persons to act only in ways that benefit hedonic utility maximizing pleasure while minimizing pain. Utilitarianism forgoes partiality and requires that an individual only commit actions that benefit the greater good. Thus, friendship an act that requires partiality and Utilitarianism an act that requires impartiality cannot coexist. This raises problems for the utilitarian because many persons would agree that friendship serves an integral function in any human life. It seems that no ethical framework should require persons to forgo anything central to our understanding of life as Utilitarianism might. A person who wholly espouses Utilitarianism cannot serve as a good friend because the two contradict each other. Utilitarianism requires one to act impartially while friendship builds its foundation on partiality. Roadmap: In this essay, I will argue for Shafer Landau s suggestion that Utilitarianism is inconsistent with the demands of friendship. First, I will assert that a true utilitarian cannot also act as a true friend as result of the two having conflicting and contradictory ends.
