modern philosophy and continues to have tremendous influence in the philosophical world to this day.
The book, Meditations of First Philosophy, consist of six meditations and describes one meditation per
day for six days. In meditation two, he claims that we have better knowledge of our own minds than of
the physical world. This proclamation has sparked debates between countless philosophers for

In meditation two, Descartes wax argument is an observation and an essential part of how he develops
his theory of the mind and body being separate from each other. It begins by Descartes taking a piece
of fresh wax and describing it. He describes the wax through his sensory perception of it. He describes
the faint taste of honey, the smell of flowers, the yellow coloring, the cool to the touch, and the sound

stared at my kayak in the sparkling blue water. I could not wait any longer to jump in and start
paddling, so I climbed in. I double checked that I had my phone in my wristlet under my seat in case
my uncle needed to get in touch with me. I could not wait a second longer to be apart of the rafters and
paddleboarders effortlessly cruising by. I grabbed my paddle and made my way into the calmness of
the river. Every time I paddled, I was splashed by little droplets of water. I loved watching the sunlight
reflecting off of the surface. It was a magical and peaceful experience which made me feel like I was
in a dream. Little did I know this was about to be a nightmare.
When Uncle Glen called after us, he told us that we had an hour and that we needed to return back to

Nursing Both models have different approaches towards the concept of nursing. Leininger presented
nursing as activities directed toward assisting, enabling, and supporting with the cultural beliefs and
values of the recipient of care (Masters, 2014, p. 69). Nursing is a general profession which includes
culturally congruent care; nurses provide care for members of diverse cultures. According to Jarošová
(2014), nursing is presented by three types of activities which are culturally congruent with the needs
and values of clients (p. 49). However, Roy defines nursing as using the four adaptive modes, promote
adaptation for individuals and groups, thus contributing to health, quality of life, and dying with
dignity (McEwen Wills, 2014, p. 179). Jarošová, (2014) explained that nursing focuses on adaptive
abilities of individual, families, and communities. By manipulating focal and contextual stimuli and
decreasing the influence of residual stimuli, nursing strives to reduce ineffective responses and
promote adaptation of individual in health and illness (p. 54). The metaparadigm concepts are well
defined in these two models. However, there are some similarities and differences found between the
two models. The relationship among the concepts is evident and is related to one another, and these

In support of this point, a great amount of the universe cannot be seen, and because of this, it is likely
that Santa Claus lives in that portion of the universe. In addition, if this part of the universe is
invisible, then there is no clout to the claim that he does not exist only because he cannot be seen.
Consequently, this is evidence in support of the case that there is a Santa Claus. The second relevant
point to make is support of the claim that Santa Claus does indeed exist is that he is what brings joy to

The five paragraph formula is a destructive formula that cuts the blood flow of creativity from
students. As Campbell essentially argues in his paper, Beyond the Five Paragraph Essay. Campbell s
main idea that he reiterates and stresses over and over again; is that the five paragraph formula doesn t
properly allow students to express themselves with their own unique voice through writing. The
alternatives to the five paragraph formula are better suited for students as they allow students to use as
he stated, their authentic, authoritative voices.
Campbell sets the scene by showing how some teachers defended the five paragraph formula when he
was doing a presentation on common core standards. Campbell s main reason for writing the ... Show
Campbell did a great job in laying out and showing the main reasons and arguments against the five
paragraph formula. However, in terms of his essay, he neglected to mention a few things that would ve
further enriched his essay. One of the critical aspects he neglected to mention that I would add would
be mainly statistics instead of heavily relying on anecdotal evidence. For example, on page 62 as he is
discussing the key issues with the formula he stated, it doesn t ensure success on standardized tests or
in college. I would ve added a statistics further enriching the say by getting his point across and
having a somewhat of a shock factor. A shock factor would ve really made his point stand out and
would not just have the essay rely on anecdotal evidence but a mixture of scientific and anecdotal
evidence. Moreover, I would ve also included a more sound concluding paragraph. I felt like the last
paragraph left a somewhat sour taste in my mouth; I would ve added now that they are able to write
better essays their writing has drastically improved and really highlighted the overall difference in
quality between using different formulas. I believe that would ve enriched the essay and left a more
sound concluding paragraph with a much sweeter taste.
