Icd Inland Container Depots
ICD as the concept: 1
In recent times, global trade, in line with it the Indian foreign trade has grown phenomenally both in
terms of volume and complexities. Infrastructure needs and innovative methods in logistics
management are growing hand in hand with the International trade needs. Ports these days mainly act
as gateways and cater to the hinterlands of India which are now serviced by the advent of ICDs. ICDs
thus generate business opportunities, general employment and global competitiveness of the local
industry.

This necessitates routing through a notified Customs clearance facility like an ICD or CFS. Customs
clearances need container storage and warehousing space for inspection / consolidation /
deconsolidation / stuffing / de stuffing of containers depending on the nature of the activity, exports or

is at a premium and its utilization worldwide is primarily shifting towards loading / unloading of
vessels in shortest possible time. 3
Therefore the trend has shifted to CFS clearances as it is imperative that customs activities be carried
outside the port area. The ports of Mumbai, JNPT, air terminal are all situated in the prime

Summary Of The Night At The Museum
Aladdin. Mrs. Doubtfire. Flubber. RV. Night at the Museum. What do all of these movies have in
common? They all stared the world renowned comedian, Robin Williams! As an adult, Williams spent
many years entertaining others and making people laugh, but his own life never seemed quite as
enjoyable. Robin was never a normal kid; he was always moving and getting picked on for what he
couldn t change. Even though his family was very wealthy, his childhood was always difficult. Once
out on his own, after moving all over the country, Robin expected a normal life and he soon learned
that he was like no other and that nobody had a talent as exceptional as his.

performances for the school and had gigs at small restaurants and bars. In 1973 he won a full
scholarship into Juilliard School for Arts for speech and classical drama. There, he became friends
with known celebrity Christopher Reeve. As a young comedian, Robin looked up to many people.
Jonathan Winters, Peter Cook, Peter Sellers, and Dudley Moore were people who influenced Robin.
As he has succeeded in his career, people started looking up to him. People such as Jim Carry, Conan
O Brien, Frank Caliendo, Dat Phan, Jo Koy, Gabriel Iglesias, Alexei Sayle, and Eddy Murphy are now
using Robin as a mentor. When Robin was first starting his career, it was slow, but soon took a major
turn for the better. His very first performance was at the Holy City Zoo in the mid 1970 s, and that
went well for him. Soon after, people started blaming him for copying others work, so he avoided
going to shows for a while but quickly got back into it. He described the life of a comedian as a brutal

In 1977 a famous TV producer named George Schlatter saw him at one of his local shows, and knew

According to Hord, Roussin Sommers (2012), the PLC centers on quality teaching that results in
students successful learning, Quality teaching is strengthened and increased through continuous
professional learning, and the PLC setting promotes this adult learning. Understanding the purpose of
a PLC is foundational to its creation and support. In fact, According to DuFour, DuFour Eaker (2006)

Additionally, Provini (2012) stated that a professional learning community represents the act of

The Juvenile Justice System
Juvenile justice is the section of law that applies to persons under the age of 18 not capable of
receiving sentencing in the adult court system or old enough to be responsible for criminal acts
committed in society. In most states the age of criminal culpability is 18 however, the age requirement
can be set lower in accordance to certain crimes and statutes set by the state the juvenile lives in.
Juvenile law is primarily run by state law and most states enforce a specific juvenile code the system
follows. The juvenile justice system primarily focuses on rehabilitation ... Show more content on

If adult and juvenile case procedures were the same many juveniles would have criminal records
going into adulthood for minor offenses or even just mistakes in judgment that could affect his or her
future. Adults have a better understanding of the laws and what is right and wrong in addition the
consequences of their choices than juveniles do.
A juvenile waiver is occurs when a judge transfers a juvenile into the adult court system. This method
releases the juvenile from any protection the youth would have under the juvenile court system. At this
point the child is put through the same court process an adult offender would face. In most states the
average age a youth would be set forth into the adult system is 17; however in some cases children as
young as 13 have faced adult trials. Normally a waiver into the adult courts is put into effect because
of a long history of offenses by the juvenile or if the crime is well thought out to be serious or severely
heinous.
In 1997 28 states had already put into exclusion the offense of murder from the juvenile system. This
meaning that a youth would be sent directly into the adult system if he or she was facing such a
charge. This number is most likely going to increase that has put more emphasis on the debate of
juveniles sent into the adult system. According to

The Duchess Alternate Ending
It was the White Rabbit, trotting slowly back again, and looking anxiously about as it went, as if it had
lost something; and she heard it muttering to itself `The Duchess! The Duchess! Oh my dear paws! Oh
my fur and whiskers! She ll get me executed, as sure as ferrets are ferrets! Where CAN I have dropped

everything seemed to have changed since her swim in the pool, and the great hall, with the glass table
and the little door, had vanished completely. Very soon the Rabbit noticed Alice, as she went hunting

Precious Metals Research Paper
Precious metals do not have their own group on the periodic table. They are arranged together on the
table. These elements do have the same chemical properties, however they do not have their own
classification. All of these metals do not rust, they are resistant to oxidation and corrosion and they
only break down when they are in high temperatures. Gold (Au), silver (Ag), platinum (Pt), ruthenium
(Ru), rhodium (Rh), palladium (Pd), iridium (Ir), and osmium (Os) all have similar properties and are
considered to be precious metals.1
Many of these elements were found in platinum ores. Scientists used aqua regia, an acid that can

The only elements that were not found in this process was gold and silver. These two metals were
known since ancient times. If they were to use aqua regia, then the pure substances of gold and silver
would be extracted from the ore.
Platinum was discovered by Antonio de Ulloa in 1735. Ulloa established the first mineralogy lab in
Spain and was the first to study platinum. Platinum was first recognized as an element in 1774 when
Charles Wood isolated the ore with aqua regia. Then the pure form of platinum was found in the
residue. However, there were more than one substance that was unknown in the residue. Hippolyte
Victor Collet Descotils believed that there was an unidentified metals that caused the red color of
some platinum salts. In 1803, William Hyde Wollaston investigated this by first dissolving the crude
platinum ore in aqua regia. Then he was able to get to the platinum metal by dissolving the solution in
ammonium chloride. The liquid which remained had properties which matched no known substance.
Wollaston named it Rhodium. This was not the last element that Wollaston discovered that year. He
used aqua regia to dissolve the platinum ore and isolated

Starter text response: Gran Torino
Gran Torino is a film full of symbols of hope and redemption. Discuss.
In his film Gran Torino , Clint Eastwood tells the story of an unlikely relationship between Korean
War veteran Walt Kowalski and his Hmong neighbours Thao and Sue. The film explores the
possibility of redemption, second chances , and the hope that comes from having a positive future.
Both Walt and Thao experience redemption in the film. Walt is saved from the guilt of murder and
broken relationships. Ultimately, Walt finds peace with himself, with others and with God. Walt s
young neighbour Thao is rescued from a future of crime and violence, and the shame of attempted
theft. Ultimately, Thao gains a future as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Kennedy the construction supervisor asks Walt when he can have the keys to his Gran
Torino, and looks down on Thao for getting a lift. Without a car, Thao is dependent and still a boy.
When Walt lends him the Gran Torino to take Youa on a date, he is giving Thao independence and the
possibility of a girlfriend. Furthermore, the Gran Torino represents being a genuine American man.
Walt built the car when he worked for Ford, and despises the Jap burners that his son Mitch drives
around in and sells. Likewise, Spider (an anti citizen ) drives a white Honda in every scene he appears
in, except the last one. When Walt leaves the Gran Torino to Thao in his will, he is giving him more
than a car. He is giving him a reward for work, a source of prestige, independence, and an American
identity. The closing scene of the film shows Thao driving the car down an esplanade, a young man
with a future, and hope.
To Walt, the reason he got his medal of valour wasn t for a good reason. It was because he shot a
Korean. After the war, Walts was left broken and scarred and especially after Dorothys death, Walt had
many issues he needed to solve. Fr suggested he should do a confession and that it would help to heal
him. You never really hear about the medal much but at the end of the film when Walt does a
confession, even though it wasn t the confession Fr was expecting, Walt has been healed. He sees what

Examples Of Dishonest In The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby is an exceptional piece of American literature written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, in
1925. It follows the story of 32 year old Jay Gatsby, from the perspective of newcomer Nick
Carraway. He moves to West Egg, and settles down next to Gatsby, who throws lavish parties for the
neighborhood. Eventually, we find out that Gatsby is pining away for Daisy Buchanan, his love five
years previous. He pursues her, but it turns out to be his pitfall. In the end, Daisy accidentally hits
someone, for which Gatsby takes the blame and gets shot while swimming by the husband of the
woman Daisy hit. The tragic ending can be attributed to one person; Jay Gatsby. He was responsible
for this terrible tragedy because he lied about his character, he refused to deal with the present
situation, and he ruined Tom and Daisy s marriage.
Gatsby is responsible for his own regrettable ending because of his dishonesty and deception. He was
dishonest about a lot of things. He lied about his job, his past, and does nothing to dismiss the wild
rumors surrounding him. Two of these include that he was a German spy, and that he killed a man
once. When they first met when Gatsby was as a poor soldier, he was dishonest to Daisy about his
wealth as well. She said he acted rich , and he did not correct her. This leads to the whole
misunderstanding and rage at the end of the novel when Jay is exposed by Tom for how he made his
money. If he had been honest about how he came to be rich, then there would

Literature Review
To inform my teaching, the literature review has been divided into three subheadings: Theories of
Learning, Misconceptions of Biological Classification and Assessment for Learning (AFL). Literature
was acquired from Google Scholar, teaching resources and online journals from King s College
Library and resources provided by the PGCE department. Prior to locating published literature on
Google Scholar, I searched on Google to familiarise myself with general information. I used keywords
such as Jean Piaget Theories of Learning, Vygotsky Theories of Learning, and Misconceptions of
Animal Classification. Some original literature was not located and thus, secondary literature was
cited instead. Subsequently, the literature review was produced to ensure all aspects of teaching
Biological Classification to year 9s are considered.
Theories of Learning
A learning theory is a conceptual framework that describes how pupils acquire, process and retain
information, thereby, informing teachers on how to tackle the complex process of how pupils learn. To
ensure learning, prior to planning a lesson, teachers must be well informed of a range of teaching
techniques to tackle differences in pupils preferred learning styles. Over the years, research on theories
of learning and how pupils learn have progressed significantly and are considered below.
Jean Piaget has been given much recognition for his works on how pupils learn. With great inspiration

Labor Relations Process Paper
Phases of the Labor Relations Process
It s viewed that each organization has a union formed by the workers so as to act as a single unit when
dealing with management and fulfills the pursuits. Nevertheless, good relationship between the union
and management is required to run the union successfully. For this reason, a labor relation process is
carried out within the group in a few phases. For this reason, the labor relations process occurs when
administration and union collectively pick and administer terms and conditions of employment
(Holley, Jennings Wolters, 2011). There are a few key individuals in Labor Relations Process that play
the important position, such as administration officers, union officers, staff, and government. Now,

implementing those conditions in every day operations. The administration phase is generally
accomplished with the help of day to day interactions of the union and management (Antoine, Craver

utilizing a complaint arbitration procedure. It is a true fact that nobody likes disputes. Nevertheless,
they need to be settled somehow to return to the productive stage. Hence, it may be acknowledged that
administration section of labor contract typically involves the interpretation of labor contract phrases
on the everyday basis that primarily administered by administration and monitored by union

Value of Labor relations system for HR Managers
It is fundamental for human resources managers to understand labor relations due to the can need of

Summary Of The Tipping Point By Malcolm Gladwell
Inside The Evidence On The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell discuss different concepts that
explain the sudden spread of a product or idea. Gladwell explains that this sudden and instantaneous
spread is very similar to an epidemic. Gladwell uses the examples of fashion trends, the success of a
book, the decrease of crime in New York City, smoking and the increase of suicide rate. To explain the
three rules of the Tipping Point, the law of the few, the stickiness factor and the power of context (29)
influence how a trend, product or action takes off as an epidemic. In the power of context Gladwell
introduces a different way of being a connector. That one person can connect to many groups (173)
and that small groups have the potential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gladwell presents us with many examples of real life situations when his idea of word of mouth
comes out to be true. In the majority of the examples and proves Gladwell shows in this chapter
heavily appeal to logos and ethos. Gladwell supports his argument with past historical events and also
with scientific studies. Not everyone will enjoy reading this type of approach Gladwell decided to use
for his argument. But it just simply gives more credibility to his argument. The rise of the Methodist
church is a better evidence to support one of Gladwell s main idea which is the stickiness factor rather
than using the rise to popularity of the Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood . Although, the Ya Ya
Sisterhood reached success due to the word of mouth and caused some stickiness, still not everyone is
aware of its success. There is a greater percentage of people who are part of the Methodist church and
live according to the ideology taught by its founder John Wesley (172). According to Gladwell the
Methodist movement went from 20,000 to 90,000 followers in a space of five years. Also the fact that
after centuries the Methodist church is still relevant until this day and it is a better example to prove
the idea of the stickiness factor or the word of mouth but it also gives a perspective of how long

Others say that the apex bank would maintain status quo on both the short term rates as well as cash

of huge capital inflows into India has increased and the RBI might take steps to narrow the interest

The RBI may send out a signal by reducing either the reverse repo or the repo rate by 0.25 0.50% to

capital, which could be used by banks for increasing credit offtake and thereby spurring growth, which

In the case of the awareness creation, 63 respondents, which means majority of the households

It is known that when there is no consideration of property type, on the other hand, there is no
selection of valuation method. Because, selection of valuation method and identification of property
type mostly go together. Description of the property which is the subject of a valuation report is one of
the scientific procedures of valuation (http://www.iacenig.org/CEthics.html). This is realized from the
fact that for the selection of valuation method, the available data and the type of property (commercial

IA CE (2008) says that, The procedure and method for deciding a given value in question is a matter
for the valuer himself to determine. Nevertheless, better valuation practice needs that the method

Hipaa Compliance And Technology Use Essay
HIPAA compliance and technology use: In 1996 when Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act (HIPAA) was enacted HIPAA compliance and the use of technology was not given that much
importance as it is today. Only small percentage of people owned mobile phones twenty years ago
which didn t have a lot of capabilities of communicating except the basic text messaging. Twenty
years later the mobile device technology is much advanced and has much more capabilities and much
faster than imagined. Advanced capabilities include messaging, internet access, e mails and ability to
take pictures and be able to send using the mobile device.
The problems with medical organizations staying HIPAA compliant with modern technology: The
faster and more functional mobile devices with Multi capabilities raised concerns regarding the use of
the technology and HIPAA compliance. Concerns relating to patients privacy and ePHI(electronically
protected health information) security. Due to these concerns regulations within HIPAA were enacted
in 2013 to address these concerns.
Legislation related to use of technology to comply with HIPAA requires insurance companies, health
care providers, employers insurance, to implement administrative, physical and technical safeguards
for protecting the confidentiality of patients information which prevents a breach of ePHI. If a breach
of ePHI occurs, Healthcare providers, employers, third party service providers and insurance

Analysis Of A Cybernetic Society By Isabella Furini And...
The use of the science fiction genre in short suite stories such as A Cybernetic Society written by
Isabella Furini and Ashna Nadan, helps to convey and raise concerns about our modern society. Most
people might argue that a creative piece is able to convey the message of which the author intends to
convey and it is not dependent on the genre. However, the genre allows the author to be able to
explore a particular context and be able to convey their message in a particular way. The science
fiction genre allows its elements to create a deep contrast of the different societies, and create a
futuristic scenario exploring the genre s context and helps to convey the story s overall message by
also using the combination of the unit s concerns. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The aspects of normality in our society refer to the common use of technology and constant political
influences. The consequences discussed to in this paragraph are the decisions of carrying out the twin
paradox experiment, then years later of the application of cybernetic brains to society. These highlight
positive and negative effects in a technology aspect through the first difference being more so an
advantage effect as it shows the advancement of technology and the scientific breakthrough. However,
the second consequence shows a negative effect of technology through it being excessively used in
order to gain something, of which is being the cybernetic brain. In a political aspect, the consequences
of the scenarios tend to also differ in positive and negative effects in the story, but mainly is seen to be
negative due to the second consequence. As the previous paragraphs have mentioned, the disadvantage
of the strong political influence then translates into losses in society. Combining these aspects of
political influence and technology create the scenarios present in the story, mainly due to the fact that
it has been written as a science fiction. These lead to showing an imbalance in the society creating its

last bout, he looked impressive against Belfort, finishing him in the first round and winning
Performance of the Night honors. However, the fight was later overturned due to a positive marijuana

cementing his place in the division. Gastelum, 25 years old, showed tremendous hand speed and the
ability to take a punch in both fights, making him a far more dangerous fighter than he s often given

him the potential to wreak havoc in the 185 pound division. Gastelum s only losses in the UFC have

Common Core Principles Of Person Centred Care
This presentation is going to talk about person centred care, confidentiality, respecting privacy and
dignity and protecting from risks and harm. The common core principles are important to every Health
and Social Care setting as they provide a basis for a general understanding of promoting good mental
health and recognising signs of poor mental health among everyone receiving care and support. The
aim of care home are to meet the identified needs of individuals who live in that home. An older
person might need to live in that care home for years. It is important for staff to be aware of
responsibilities in delivering care to support the individuals who live at that home. These common
principles of health will help develop the workforce that respond confidently to the individuals and
supporting the life they are leading.

Robert Bolt s A Man For All Seasons Essay
Robert Bolt s A Man For All Seasons
In the play, written by Robert Bolt, A man for all seasons the
Common Man is a very important character and also a very important part of the play, not in the plot
but in the way the play has been presented, he is both a narrator and a role player who makes the play
more interesting and separates it from reality. The Common Man also introduces some of the ideas
from Bertolt Brecht s work. The idea of the Common Man is a rare and rather unusual one. Robert
Bolt used him intentionally to be like no other character in his play.
One of the distinctive functions of the Common Man is obvious from his name. The word, common
meaning, common to us all. Everybody in the audience should be ... Show more content on

The Common Man uses slight wit and shrewdness, The likes of me can hardly be expected to follow a
man like that! This is where we see that the Common Man is also likely to be used to add humour,
which is often course, show you something of my own. The audience are able to laugh at other
characters with him.
We see that the Common Man has an intention to stay well out of trouble, to save his own skin. Again,
he communicates this within his roles. An example is the Jailer, who refuses to let More s family stay
any longer. Although we can see he wants to, he sticks to his orders to prevent any trouble for himself.
The Common Man tries to save himself again as the Foreman of the jury, who can see it s obvious
More should be let go innocent but doesn t want to get on the wrong side of the King by displeasing
his wishes, instead he brings a guilty verdict to stay in the clear.
The importance of The Common Man is the way he is able to be both inside and outside of the play,
he can also bridge a gap between the play and the audience and we see him as an informer. When the
audience needed to know of Wolsey s death, the Common Man throws the Cardinal s red robe and hat
to the floor, indicating his death. Robert Bolt created him as a use of alienation, the way in which the
audience are deliberately kept separate from the play to remind

48 Shades Of Brown By Nick Earls
48 Shades of Brown by Nick Earls is a novel that follows Dan Bancroft, the main protagonist, and his
troubling experiences as he goes through his final year of school. Dan is thrown into a world of
unfamiliarity, where he makes many comical and embarrassing decisions. This novel expresses the
theme of having or not having control subtly through the choices Dan makes, and their consequences.
This theme is also successfully revealed through the four elements; characters, plot, motifs and setting.
The relationships between the characters are vital to providing an insight into the theme.
In the beginning of the novel 48 Shades of Brown , the theme of having or not having control is
effectively demonstrated through the characters. When Dan is faced with the issue of living in a share
house during his final year of school, he begins to identify the struggles of surviving in the
unorganised environment. A situation where Dan lacks control is when Naomi and her boyfriend are
having sex in the room next door and Dan wants to go outside, but the floorboards (would) squeak so
they d know (p.19). Dan lacks control in this situation as he has no power over what is happening in
the other room, and he also cannot escape without them realising what he is trying to do. Dan lacking
control in this situation causes him discomfort that he cannot rattle. During this situation, Dan starts
arranging his socks systematically revealing his inner need to be in control. There s something

It is well known that the financial crisis which started in 2008 is a worldwide recession. Even the
Lehman Brothers Holdings, which was a global firm with a high reputation, went bankrupt on
September 15th, 2008. Lehman Brothers Holdings failed because it was unable to retain the

Some of the quality mistakes bring uncountable cost, while some bring companies to the end of their
businesses. As a result, better quality than quantity should be advocated as a regulation before
companies start any strategies. On the other hand, the government should strictly control the quality of
products and make a more detailed policy on standards to stimulate corporations focus on the quality
of their products.
Last but not least, the subject of diversification. It is well known that, the fluctuation of the economy
is unavoidable and one corporation, if they only produce one product, the fluctuation will inevitably
influence the corporation. Fortunately, corporations can learn from the principle of investment
portfolios, which divides the risk into pieces and would definitely decrease the probability of failure.
Even though corporations who only focus on one product seem to gain higher quality, it is not
necessarily the truth it might be a struggle for corporations to survive in competitive circumstances.
Next comes the problem of how to manage the portion of every product and how many products
should a corporation afford to minimize the risk of failure while gain a higher profit? The number of
possible answers is quite vast. For example, making decisions fitted with the corporation s real
situation, making full use of mathematic models to decide the number of the category, hiring
professional corporations for consultant, etc.

Analysis Of Vasquez s Theories And Factors Influencing...
Vasquez employs a gear analogy to express the interconnected nature of each of the four STEM
capabilities. Like the meshing of teeth on a system of gears, the four STEM fields are best taught,
learned and assessed together (Vasquez, Sneider, Comer, 2013, p. 12). Furthermore, Vasquez (2013)
recommends the following five guiding principles to guide the gear mesh alignment of the STEM
fields: focus on integration, establish relevance, emphasize 21st Century skills, challenge your
students, and mix it up (p. 18 19). However, Vasquez (2013) remains cognizant of the challenging
nature of implementing all five principles and urges educators to remember you don t have to do it all
(p.21). The subsequent paragraphs are an introspection regarding the degree of implementation and
the factors influencing the execution of the aforementioned principles in my current setting. The
primary principle expressed by Vasquez is the focus on integration. Vasquez(2013) states, that
combining two or more of the disciplines helps students see the relatedness of the concepts tying
together seemingly disjointed blocks of information (p.22). The yearly pacing of science instruction
shapes integration of the four disciplines. Science instruction occurs primarily during the third and
fourth quarter. A brief unit on magnetism takes place at the beginning of the second quarter.
Additionally, the emphasis on number sense and computation during this period is less conducive to

DRAMA ESSAY

Australian theatre practitioners use various performance styles, techniques and dramatic conventions
to help portray their ideas to their audiences and make them feel a particular way to the ideas
presented in a play. Without the use of these styles, techniques and conventions it wouldn t be possible
for the practitioners to emphasise their ideas. In the play Ruby Moon Matt Cameron the playwright
uses various techniques such as symbolism, transformational acting, cyclical and episodic dramatic
structure and a fractured fairytale. Ruby Moon was written by Matt Cameron in 2003. It is a story
about a well known tragedy. In Flaming Tree Grove everything seems to be perfect. A young girl,

you out of those wet things. Get a towel Ray! Its okay, you re safe now... Mummy s here. Not only
does Sylvie use this Mannequin to make her feel like the baby is still alive; it is possible that the
packages sent of mannequin body parts, is the mother bringing in a new element into the sick game,
trying to make sense of what has happened.
Through this play Matt Cameron uses transformational acting as a way to portray the idea that it is
possible for Ray and Sylvie to be playing a sick game with each other trying to make sense of what
happened. As Matt Cameron calls it theatre magic Matt Cameron uses this technique that could only
be used in theatre to have its full effect. So we can question the message he wants us to receive
without having a resolution. It s like Ray and Sylvie represent society and they want the truth at the
same time don t want the truth. Do we really want to know the harsh truth of what happens behind
closed doors.
In Ruby Moon we don t have a conclusion to what happened. The message conveyed through this is
that we have no conclusion in our own lives, but we can find solace in fiction of a fairytale which is
the sub story in the play. As Sylvie states I want to hear the story .
The play is episodic. Tension builds throughout each scene so that the audience can see the deeper

Measuring The Value Of The Parent Class
6.1 Weighted Methods per Class: WMC relates directly to complexity of a thing, since methods are
properties of object classes and complexity is determined by the cardinality of its set of properties.
The number of methods is, therefore, a measure of class definition as well as being attributes of a
class, since attributes correspond to properties. 6.2 Depth of Inheritance Tree (DIT): DIT measures the
effect of an ancestor class over the class for which the metrics is being measured. In DIT, the deeper
the class is in hierarchy, the greater the number of methods it is likely to inherit and greater the
potential reuse of inherited methods. 6.3 Number of children (NOC): NOC relates to the scope of
properties. It measures the number of subclasses inheriting the methods of the parent class. Greater
NOC relates to more reuse and likelihood of improper abstraction of the parent class. This metrics also
relates that greater NOC could be the case of misuse of sub classing. A class may require more testing
if the NOC is high. 6.4 Coupling between object classes: CBO defines the number of other classes to
which it is coupled. CBO reflects that if one object acts on another, then they can be coupled. Since
objects of the same class have the same properties, two classes are coupled when methods declared in
one class use methods or instance variables defined by the other class. 6.5 Lack of Cohesion in
Methods: Lack of Cohesion (LCOM) measures the dissimilarity of methods

Incident Background On September 24, 2010, a laptop was stolen from an unlocked Urology office at
the Henry Ford Health Systems hospital. The laptop did contain password protection software;
however, it may not have been enough to permit access if the thief had advanced knowledge in
computers. Additionally, the information stored on the laptop did not include social security or health
insurance information, but instead held patient names, medical record numbers, dates of birth,
telephone numbers, e mail addresses, and treatment and doctor visits (Moscaritolo, 2010, p. 1). It is
unknown how many records were contained on the laptop, but all records were related to prostate
services that were provided during an eleven year span.
Reaction to Incident Once it was revealed that the laptop was missing, Meredith Phillips, the chief
privacy officer for the hospital, notified all involved patients by letter and offered each of them a free
one year credit monitoring service (Henry Ford Health System, 2010). The hospital also established a
telephone help line that addressed patient concerns (toll free), as well as initiated an internal
investigation to determine if appropriate security measures were followed. Furthermore, all employees

strategies in their writing but in different ways. Wheatley isn t necessarily concerned with narration in
her poetry as Apess is in his writing. Her focus isn t really action, but ideas. In her text, her goals are
to worship, discuss philosophies about Christianity, redemption, and history. The themes in her poetry
communicate ideas of Christian devoutness, ethics, righteousness and death. A more in depth reading
of her works will, however, reveal their anti slavery ideas as well as her objection to the subjugation of
her race. She protests, stresses vengeance, and uses her powerful imagery to draw attention to her

Looking out the window into space was truly mesmerizing. Seeing the infinite darkness with specs of

Challenges Women Confronted in the 1990s Essay
Four important challenges confronted women in the 1990s: increasing practical literacy, gaining
access to employment opportunities at all levels in the economy, promoting change in the perception

There have been various attempts at social and legal reform aimed at improving women s lives during

programs especially in the area of the physical sciences. This is an area where women are now

Muslim societies, in general, appear to be far more concerned with trying to control women s bodies
and sexuality than with their human rights. They either do not speak of women s rights at all, or are
mainly concerned with how women s chastity may be protected (Abdullah, 1988).
Women are the targets of the most serious violations of human rights, which occur in Muslim societies
in general. Muslims say with great pride that Islam abolished female infanticide; true but it must also
be mentioned that one of the most common crimes in a number of Muslim countries is the murder of
women by their husbands. These so called honor killings are, in fact, extremely dishonorable and are
frequently used to camouflage other kinds of crimes (ibid).
Female children are discriminated against from the moment of birth, for it is customary in Muslim
societies to regard a son as a gift, and a daughter as a trial from God. Therefore, the birth of a son is an
occasion for celebration while the birth of a daughter calls for commiseration if not lamentation. Many
girls are married when they are still minors, even though marriage in Islam is a contract and
presupposes that the contracting parties are both consenting adults. Even though so much Qur anic

equality with their husbands. The husband, in fact, is regarded as his wife s gateway to heaven or hell

Meditation is very difficult for some to practice, especially for those who are new to meditating. Most
beginners believe that if they are unable to completely clear their mind while meditating, they have

Within the film, Edward Scissor hands by Tim Burton, the composer uses film techniques to display
distintivitvely visual. The impressive use of camera angles and camera shots both encompass the
distinctively visual element. Camera angles are used to emphasise the characters view on certain

also included his idea of the colonies being free from British rule. Through his strong use of tone and
figurative language, he got the colonists to picture a tyranny free country.

Is Beowulf A Hero Or Real
Are heroes more heroic and real when they are flawed or perfect? Heroes are supposed to be real and
themselves. They should lead by good example. Especially people who have a positive impression on
others. True heroes have weaknesses. If they do not have weaknesses, why should they fight if no one
would win? In the film Beowulf, he goes through trials and temptations. The hero also makes many
regretful decisions but he is still an excellent leader.
Beowulf is a brave warrior. Heroes are supposed to be reliable and always willing to help. They
sometimes have to put other before themselves. Beowulf has to make many hard decisions. He came
from his homeland to save Hrothgar and his people. The first trial he has is an encounter with is
Grendel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every hero makes mistakes, it is a part of being human. Beowulf lies about chaining five of the
strongest beasts. However, he also lies about racing in the ocean and killing monsters left and right.
Every human has exaggerated personal stories to sound more heroic. Hrothgar tells Beowulf where the
she monster lives. Hrothgar describes her lair as being mysterious. He travels for hours sinking to the
bottom. When he arrives he encounters a beautiful woman, Grendel s mother. In Beowulf, she lures
him into making an agreement with her. She tells him if I keep the horn, you will be king (Beowulf).
Beowulf agrees to the deal, he takes Grendel s head and leaves. When he arrives back to land, he tells
the Danes he has killed the beast that intrudes their peace. He shows them Grendel s head to prove to
them he killed the beast. They all cheered in excitement to their hero s accomplishment. In the
literature, Beowulf is honorable, and trustworthy. Heroes are supposed to keep their word. He
promises them he will kill the monster and end their fear. Beowulf goes to the creature s lair and
begins fighting. She welcomed him into her claws, / Clutched at him savagely but could not harm him
(Beowulf 53). Beowulf went to swing his sword at her but couldn t. Then he saw/ The mighty water
witch, and swung his sword... (Beowulf 54), but he could not harm her. Beowulf returned to the Geat s
and took over as ruler. Beowulf is a fearless, strong, wonderful one of a kind hero. Heroes are
supposed to have some fears but still do their job. In Beowulf, Beowulf fears the dragon, but Wiglaf
motivates him to fight. Beowulf decides to fight so he heads toward the dragon. In Beowulf Wiglaf
tells Beowulf he is a hero and his people need him, and he will do just fine,

A juvenile waiver is occurs when a judge transfers a juvenile into the adult court system. This method releases the juvenile from any protection the youth would have under the juvenile court system. At this point the child is put through the same court process an adult offender would face. In most states the average age a youth would be set forth into the adult system is 17; however in some cases children as young as 13 have faced adult trials. Normally a waiver into the adult courts is put into effect because of a long history of offenses by the juvenile or if the crime is well thought out to be serious or severely heinous. In 1997 28 states had already put into exclusion the offense of murder from the juvenile system. This meaning that a youth would be sent directly into the adult system if he or she was facing such a charge. Some of the quality mistakes bring uncountable cost, while some bring companies to the end of their businesses. As a result, better quality than quantity should be advocated as a regulation before companies start any strategies. On the other hand, the government should strictly control the quality of products and make a more detailed policy on standards to stimulate corporations focus on the quality of their products. Last but not least, the subject of diversification. It is well known that, the fluctuation of the economy is unavoidable and one corporation, if they only produce one product, the fluctuation will inevitably influence the corporation. Fortunately, corporations can learn from the principle of investment portfolios, which divides the risk into pieces and would definitely decrease the probability of failure. Even though corporations who only focus on one product seem to gain higher quality, it is not necessarily the truth it might be a struggle for corporations to survive in competitive circumstances. Next comes the problem of how to manage the portion of every product and how many products should a corporation afford to minimize the risk of failure while gain a higher profit? The number of possible answers is quite vast. For example, making decisions fitted with the corporation s real situation, making full use of mathematic models to decide the number of the category, hiring professional corporations for consultant, etc. Besides ... Like the meshing of teeth on a system of gears, the four STEM fields are best taught, learned and assessed together (Vasquez, Sneider, Comer, 2013, p. 12). Furthermore, Vasquez (2013) recommends the following five guiding principles to guide the gear mesh alignment of the STEM fields: focus on integration, establish relevance, emphasize 21st Century skills, challenge your students, and mix it up (p. 18 19). However, Vasquez (2013) remains cognizant of the challenging nature of implementing all five principles and urges educators to remember you don t have to do it all (p.21). The subsequent paragraphs are an introspection regarding the degree of implementation and the factors influencing the execution of the aforementioned principles in my current setting. The primary principle expressed by Vasquez is the focus on integration. Vasquez(2013) states, that combining two or more of the disciplines helps students see the relatedness of the concepts tying together seemingly disjointed blocks of information (p.22). The yearly pacing of science instruction shapes integration of the four disciplines. Science instruction occurs primarily during the third and fourth quarter. A brief unit on magnetism takes place at the beginning of the second quarter. Ruby Moon Essay DRAMA ESSAY Breanna Burgess Australian theatre practitioners use various performance styles, techniques and dramatic conventions to help portray their ideas to their audiences and make them feel a particular way to the ideas presented in a play. Without the use of these styles, techniques and conventions it wouldn t be possible for the practitioners to emphasise their ideas. In the play Ruby Moon Matt Cameron the playwright uses various techniques such as symbolism, transformational acting, cyclical and episodic dramatic structure and a fractured fairytale. The message conveyed through this is that we have no conclusion in our own lives, but we can find solace in fiction of a fairytale which is the sub story in the play. • 27. Measuring The Value Of The Parent Class 6.1 Weighted Methods per Class: WMC relates directly to complexity of a thing, since methods are properties of object classes and complexity is determined by the cardinality of its set of properties. The number of methods is, therefore, a measure of class definition as well as being attributes of a class, since attributes correspond to properties. 6.2 Depth of Inheritance Tree (DIT): DIT measures the effect of an ancestor class over the class for which the metrics is being measured. In DIT, the deeper the class is in hierarchy, the greater the number of methods it is likely to inherit and greater the potential reuse of inherited methods. 6.3 Number of children (NOC): NOC relates to the scope of properties. It measures the number of subclasses inheriting the methods of the parent class. Greater NOC relates to more reuse and likelihood of improper abstraction of the parent class. This metrics also relates that greater NOC could be the case of misuse of sub classing. A class may require more testing if the NOC is high. 6.4 Coupling between object classes: CBO defines the number of other classes to which it is coupled. CBO reflects that if one object acts on another, then they can be coupled. Since objects of the same class have the same properties, two classes are coupled when methods declared in one class use methods or instance variables defined by the other class. 6.5 Lack of Cohesion in Methods: Lack of Cohesion (LCOM) measures the dissimilarity of methods ... Muslim societies, in general, appear to be far more concerned with trying to control women s bodies and sexuality than with their human rights. They either do not speak of women s rights at all, or are mainly concerned with how women s chastity may be protected (Abdullah, 1988). Women are the targets of the most serious violations of human rights, which occur in Muslim societies in general. Muslims say with great pride that Islam abolished female infanticide; true but it must also be mentioned that one of the most common crimes in a number of Muslim countries is the murder of women by their husbands. These so called honor killings are, in fact, extremely dishonorable and are frequently used to camouflage other kinds of crimes (ibid). Female children are discriminated against from the moment of birth, for it is customary in Muslim societies to regard a son as a gift, and a daughter as a trial from God. Therefore, the birth of a son is an occasion for celebration while the birth of a daughter calls for commiseration if not lamentation. • 39. Rhetorical Analysis Of Thomas Paine s The Crisis No. 1 Salema: The Crisis No. 1 is a 16 pamphlet series written by Thomas Paine in December of 1776 (Paine 86). It was a rather successful piece that argued for independence from England and described the difficulties faced by the colonists because of Britain s tyranny. Paine was mostly targeting the American patriots and trying to influence them to come together and fight for their independence. He also included his idea of the colonies being free from British rule. Through his strong use of tone and figurative language, he got the colonists to picture a tyranny free country. There are many uses of rhetoric in The Crisis No. 1 . Paine uses a plentiful amount of logos in this essay. He uses it to explain logically that the colonies would thrive if they were free from British rule. He pairs his use of logos with lots of pathos. He tries to get the American patriots upset with the British in order for them to be more willing to fight against them. For example, he uses pathos when telling the story of the Tory tavern keeper who made a so called ignorant statement in front of his child. The tone he used when speaking about the tavern keeper seemed almost furious! The impact of his use of tone leaves the reader appalled. Similarly, he also uses pathos when he equates offensive war to murder; ...I believe, could have induced me to support an offensive war, for I think it murder... (Paine 90).
