0001 Examples of Methods of Writing or Developing a Paragraph
Examples of methods of writing or developing a paragraph Narration Larry suddenly woke up from a
deep sleep. The sun was dazzling his half open eyes, and he couldn t figure out what time it was. The
door to his room was closed; the house was immersed in some sort of reckless silence. He slowly got
out of his bed and approached the bench right next to the window. For a moment, he thought, he heard
a tapping sound coming from the attic. Then again he heard the sound, only this time it seemed to be
somewhat closer. He looked outside the window and saw a man going by the left side of the road. On
seeing Larry, the man approached his garden s fence and whistled. At this point, Larry recognized
Nick and waved his hand. He quickly got dressed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

All life is a game of power. The object of the game is simple enough: to know what you want and get
it. The moves of the game, by contrast, are infinite and complex, although they usually involve the
manipulation or people and situations to your advantage. As for the rules, these are only discovered by
playing the game to the end. Cause and Effect In the past century, government has expanded and
become more involved in many new fields and aspects of life. One reason for this change is that
government has more to because the population has increased by 600 percent over the past 100 years.
More rules and regulations are needed to keep larger numbers of people living and working together
peacefully. Another reason for government expansion is the growth of cities. The government has been
forced to accept responsibility for the water supply, transportation, fire and police protection, and
waste disposal in urban areas. Use of Quotation Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a

Early 20th Century Research Paper
The late 19th century to the early 20th century, architecture was typically influenced by Roman or
even Greek architecture, which is also known as federal style or Greek Revival . And of course, each
revival style can be identified specifically with an architeture of an earlier time period. Expecially the
ones fom early American or Euorpienc places. One could also the call the architecture buildings in this
time period: Neoclassical (New Classical) , which are inspired from Greece and Rome. Building such

Advantages Of NIMS
The National Incident Management System (NIMS) brings many advantages to the all hazard incident
to streamline practices before, during and after an event. Comprised of five main components that
strengthen its overall effectiveness in an all hazards environment are preparedness, communications,
resource management, command and management and the ongoing management and maintenance
(Broder Tucker, 2012). Furthermore, NIMS provides a standardized method that can be applied to all
hazards, regardless of their size and jurisdiction. First and foremost, NIMS provides a standardized
approach that helps emergency responders work together to prevent and respond to events by utilizing
the fore mentioned predetermined components. Each of these components contributes to the overall
effort to mitigate or the response to a disaster. However, NIMS is not a standalone system; it receives
guidance from the National Response Framework (NRF) doctrine, the Incident ... Show more content

Therefore, NIMS sets the standards for the nation, emergency professionals and the communities
before and during a disaster.
Therefore, NIMS is a living system that provides guidance on how to proceed before, during and after
an event by establishing a command and control structure to manage the disaster. Seemingly, it offers
a roadmap to prevent or respond to threats and incidents regardless of its size and complexity through
the use of its components, NFR and relying on the use of the Incident Command System (Broder
Tucker, 2012).
Conceived from lessons learned, NIMS applies these lessons to continue to improve its processes from
past events to save lives and property in the future. NIMS is cumbersome in size, but does provide

The Importance Of Rehabilitation Needs In Oncology
Occupational therapy has the ability to potentially limit and reverse cancer related disabilities amongst
oncology patients, yet it remains extraordinarily underused within adult oncology (Pergolotti et al.,
2015). More knowledge is needed regarding functional independence in daily activities of living,
coping with stress, difficulties with employment, and the need for future care by healthcare
professionals after leaving the hospital (Hwang, 2015).
It is known that physical impairments resulting from cancer and the cancer treatment are best
addressed by physical therapists and occupational therapists (Sleight Duker, 2016). With this being
said, there is a need for more data on rehabilitation needs among oncology patients. It is ... Show more

Therefore, it is necessary for rehabilitative services to be in place to allow for optimal occupational
performance after treatment (Movsas et. al., 2003). We suggest that although there have been studies
that recognize the effectiveness of OT interventions with oncology patients, more research is needed
to validate the importance of including OT practitioners within oncology treatment.
Implications for Occupational Therapy Practice
Occupational therapy practitioners have the knowledge and skills for producing the best quality of life
for cancer patients by focusing on their occupational performance issues. Evaluation of a client should
begin with an occupational profile that highlights their strengths and weaknesses and managing
approaches in various occupations within the context of the client s lifestyle. A holistic treatment can
contain a wide range of approaches that can be integrated into the client s plan to improve occupation
based problems. The strategies include energy conservation, coping, and relaxation techniques for
managing pain, fatigue, and difficulty sleeping. Exercise and leisure programs are used to improve
strength and mobility. Cognitive strategies, activity and work adaptation, and assistive technology are
used to optimize performance in activities of daily living (ADL), education, and employment. Support
and volunteer groups can be introduced to prevent social

The 1900 s Milk
Since the beginning of human existence they have always had meat in their diets. Hunting was their
life and that is all they would do to survive. As civilization progressed animals became domesticated
and farming was invented. The irrigation system further progressed farming allowing for more food
yield and better nutrition. The domestication of animals also brought milk into the scene which was
used for cooking. Ever since then humans have eaten a mixture of animal and grown food products
claiming themselves as omnivores meaning that they eat both plant and animal based foods. This has
forever been shown to the public as healthy with showings of calcium in milk helps build strong bones

that calcium from milk is barely absorbed in the bones. The amount of people with osteoporosis in the
U.S. rose from 10 million in 2002 to 12 million in 2010 and is expected to be more than 14 million by
2020. ( Facts and Statistics ) In a report done on whether three servings of milk a day was an evidence
based recommendation it provides evidence against milk being good and nutritious. This report was
done by two medical doctors who each had Phds from the Harvard School of Public Health. They
explained how the milk everyday was promoted because of the sugar content in milk that got kids to
drink it. They also explained how humans have no nutritional requirement from milk and countries
that do not consume milk have a much lower bone fracture rate than countries that do consume milk.
They also provide results from a meta analysis that showed that milk consumption had no benefit for
bone protection in adults. A meta analysis is a combined report of multiple scientific studies. (Ludwig)
Green vegetables such as kale provide just as much calcium as milk and this calcium is better
absorbed by bones. Three cups of kale provide the same amount of calcium as one cup of cow s milk
without the added fat and cholesterol adding in vitamin a and e. Oranges have about the same amount
of calcium as kale and oranges have vitamin c which helps the immune system. Given that three cups

Unit 3: Revolutionary War Period
These Patriots act like little children like William Pitt said: This is the mother country, they are the
children; they must obey and we prescribe. William Pitt of England. Moments, when they act like little
kids, is when the Boston Massacre happened, Boston tea party happened, and when they need the
intolerable Act. To begin with, most of the Patriots were pretty mad at England so what do they do
when they aren t satisfied with the acts, they try to kill themselves by shouting Fire and throwing clubs
at British officials. The officers were just defending but when one of them fell and accidentally fired
the rest fired as well. Simple minded people have a hard time understanding something like an Act ...

To begin with, when the Colonist dumped our prices Tea into the harbor I was actually really surprised
because I thought the problem was resolved when the Townshend Act was removed except for the
taxes on Tea. If the Colonist just could have looked at the good stuff that the mother country had done
then this War would ve been avoided but instead, they decide to create a list that states what King
George had done which was just plain stupid not to add anything good. Secondly, when I saw what
Samuel Adams had written I felt angry at how people thought that horrible night had gone down. The
worst part is that many people believe this garbage and now innocent troops are being punished from
this. This all could have been avoided is the Patriots didn t have anger management problems and just
rethought their actions than 5 people wouldn t die. Also shouldn t they have been asking to be killed
and instead try to reason with them? Lastly, I felt like the intolerable was a last ditch effort to help take
control of the Colonist and punish those who misbehave. Another thing this Act disbanded was those
town meetings which were actually used as a place to make a plan to rebel. If only people could
follow the rules then all these taxes would pass and besides people in Britain had to pay for more than
you did. In the end, if the Colonist would have just followed the rules and just pay taxes like normal
people would the events like the Boston Massacre, Boston tea party, and Intolerable Act would have

Analysis Of The Movie Forrest Gump
Forrest Gump tells the story of a man, who while slightly mentally and physically challenged, is to
lead a life full of experiences and wonderment. The audience is teleported to the 1960 s American
South and around the globe as they follow Forrest on this journey. By using historical footage, he is
placed in seemingly recorded events. The simple love story is interwoven with the upheavals of the
Vietnam era, the violent war sequences and solitude he requires to make sense of his changing life.
The 1994 film, directed by Robert Zemeckis, works brilliantly on many fronts. The casting of Tom
Hanks in the title role and the supporting actors including Sally Fields as Mrs. Gump and Gary Sinise
as Lieutenant Dan, all work very well together. But it is the unrequited love between Forrest and
Jenny, played by Robin Wright, that is the central narrative of the movie. While events would pull
them apart, their relationship was a key to the film s success.
The rich and timely musical score includes some of the iconic songs of the period such as Blowin in
the Wind by Joan Baez, Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynard and Simon and Garfunkel s, Mrs.
Robinson. The power and emotional connection between the action on screen and the music score
works wonderfully on this movie. As the movie opens, we meet Forrest and Jenny as they board the
elementary bus to school. She is very pretty with straight blond hair while Forrest is awkward and
struggling to walk while in heavy metal leg

Caribbean American Women
Carole Boyce Davies discussion on Zora Neale Hurston s essay How It Feels to be Colored Me she
uses posits Hurston s proffering to travel piece of the way with visitors as a new way of thinking about
the periphery in academia . Beginning her chapter Coming to Terms with Theory, Boyce expresses
how outdated and inefficient the current theoretical practices have become. She states that scholars are
intellectually trapped by the hierarchical systems within scholarship. Her main critique comes from
the reality of upcoming scholars having to laboriously quote Euro American male scholars in order to
establish them within their field. Under this standard what we find is that in the constant referencing
of these European scholars the racial and cultural hierarchy of western society is sustained. Boyce
suggests that common favoring of European scholarly contributions reinforces structural biases
towards the consciousness of those in the periphery. As a result, western epistemology continues to
drive current scholarship through its standardization. And, moreover, European theory is falsely
applied to the estranged consciousnesses. The standardization of European scholarship places
limitations on how the marginal subject can articulate its existence. Barbara Christian s The Race for
Theory asks For whom are we doing what we are doing when we do literary criticism? Davies would
respond to this query by stating that current scholarship is written to and for the center. Based

Common Criminal Quotes
This quote is significant because it details how people who have committed smaller crimes do not
represent as large of a threat to The Party as political criminals. Political criminals have demonstrated
an active hatred for The Party s ways and a desire to change the political setting. Therefore, common
criminals are given positions of trust because The Party understands that their ideals can be changed
with much less effort than the political criminals. Winston explains that Party officials claim that he
started talking in his sleep and said things such as Down with Big Brother! This is significant because
it shows that Winston can no longer suppress his feelings of hatred for Big Brother. Although Winston
previously took an active role in expressing his hatred for Big Brother when writing in his diary in the
beginning of the novel, he was previously able to control his thoughts and not state his feelings of
hatred out loud. However, after meeting with Julia and fully believing in the brotherhood, Winston can
no longer defeat his hatred for Big Brother and expresses this hatred subconsciously while sleeping. ...

The methods of gaining power over a disloyal citizen explained in the quote are demonstrated when
Winston is tortured by O Brien. O Brien tortures Winston until Winston loves Big Brother and fully
believes that 2+2=5 on his own without threats from The Party. The statement we make him one of
ourselves before we kill him (255) is ironic because making someone a loyal member of The Party is
essentially killing him because to be a loyal member of The Party all individuality must be

Generic Strategy For Classifying A Text Document
.1 Generic Strategy for Classifying a Text Document The main steps involved are i) document pre
processing, ii) feature extraction / selection iii) model selection iv) Training and testing the classifier.
Information pre preparing lessens the measure of the information content records essentially. It
includes exercises like sentence limit determination [2], characteristic dialect particular stop word
disposal [1] [2] [3] and stemming [2] [4]. Stop words are practical words which happen as often as
possible in the dialect of the content (for instance, „a‟, ‟the‟, ‟an‟, ‟of‟ and so forth in English
dialect), so they are not helpful for order. Stemming is the activity of decreasing words to their root or
base structure. For English dialect, the Porter‟s stemmer is a prominent calculation [4] [12], which is
an addition stripping arrangement of orderly strides for stemming an English word, decreasing the
vocabulary of the preparation content by around 33% of its unique size [4]. For instance, utilizing the

1900s Film History

hundred or so years will show the amazing advances film has taken to come to what we know of it
today.
The first place to look when you are looking into the history of film is the 1900s. The 1900s to 1910 is

was one of the most influential events in American history because it helped not only double the size

One of the most famous and important expeditions in this country s history is that of Lewis and Clark.
Within their great journey, the two men met countless obstacles, met many new and intriguing

Storming Team Development
Leadership and followership are worthless when a strong foundation for a team is absent. Few teams
quickly begin operating and succeeding without taking time to progress through the stages of team
development, which reinforces the necessity of educating students on these four stages: Forming,
storming, norming and performing (Day). The forming stage is simple, as it is a group of individuals
joining together to form a team. Most people can accomplish this task without any knowledge or
training, but those who partake in a team building course gain knowledge to form a stronger team
from its inception. Such knowledge allows team members to break through the social, economic, and

While they recently emerged from the storming stage with higher levels of motivation and increased
knowledge, one variable can send them tumbling back into the storming stage (Norming). Such
variables include new challenges obstructing a team s physical progress to their goal, as well as
interpersonal issues that linger after the team s exit from the storming state; the former issue is easily
resolved once the latter is effectively dealt with. If individuals are unaware of the correct methods of
improving their interpersonal issues, which include, Issues of strengthening relationships, open

McFerrin, are easily comparable to each other, for the two share clear differences and similarities in
their theme and titles. Out of both songs, I would prefer Don t Worry, Be Happy over Hakuna Matata
due to its more realistic lyrics. First, the two songs deliver indistinguishable messages about the
importance of carefree lives. McFerrin s lyrics state, ...in your life expect some trouble, when you
worry you make it double, but don t worry...be happy now. The artist is pointing out that conflict
shouldn t surprise anyone; however, panicking over them only seems to worsen one s problems.
Likewise, John and Rice s song says, Hakuna Matata...it means no worries for the rest of your days.
These lyrics introduce a philosophy for an untroubled lifestyle. Both songs imply that, in the end,
there is no need to fret; this idea can also be found in the title of the songs. Secondly, the song titles,
Hakuna Matata and Don t Worry, Be Happy, are nearly identical. The phrase, Hakuna Matata,
translates from Swahili to no worries. Evidently, it is almost equal to Don t Worry, which is part of the
title of Bobby McFerrin s song. This confirms another similarity between both songs. Despite being
uniform ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Don t Worry, Be Happy discusses realistic situations that apply to people today. McFerrin s song
states, Ain t got no place to lay your head...the landlord say your rent is late, he may have to litigate.
This talks about common struggles of adult life and the inability to keep a home. However, since
Hakuna Matata is meant to be apart of a musical about animals, the song says, We live wherever we
want...home is where your rump rests! Unlike men and women, wild animals roam and sleep freely in
their habitat. Because of their lyrics, there is a clear distinction between these two

Effects Of Texas Rebellion
Texas, initially Mexican territory, would lose this identity as diversity began to advance across the
state. Texas became full of diversity prior to the rebellion. Texas at the time was at its most diverse
(Unit 4, The Peoples of Mexican Texas). There were visible cultural differences and practices.
However, the differences were hardly significant enough to propel Texas into a rebellion. The moment
the Anglos set foot in to Texas, the cultural differences were noticeable to both sides, but it was not
enough to deter either side from attempting to coexist (Unit 4, The Peoples of Mexican Texas). The
Texas rebellion began to formulate at a time where the Anglo population began to peak. The rebellion
was inevitable, and long before cultural conflicts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Political conflict, was a key component in multiple uprisings during the time. Economic motivations,
grew to a point where it never reached prior to the Jacksonian era. Social changes, divided a
significant amount of people within Texas itself. Cultural differences were notable and existed, but
they took on a smaller role compared to politics, economics, and social changes. While cultural
differences were present, they were not nearly enough to spark an entire rebellion. The cultural
differences made it difficult to easily assimilate, but hardly impossible. The inability to quickly adjust
to preceding expected cultural norms was a very unlikely reason for the rebellion. Weber, initially
presents a very valid argument of the cultural differences between Anglo Texans and Mexican Texans.
However, he makes it clear in his essay that despite the cultural differences, the main fight was
between the Mexican Texan and the centralist Mexican government (MPTH, 139). There is more than
enough evidence to support that the Texas rebellion would occur inevitably, as the discontent with the
Mexican leadership rose. Consequently, it appeared that both cultures were able to coexist
exceptionally. It is also leaves a curious question on whether culture assimilation, rather than cultural
differences lead to the Texas

Saying Farewell To A Faithful Pal By John Grogon
Animals can Change Our Lives
Changes in our world is normal, sometimes they can make a big change. Pets can change our lives
because of many reasons. New experiences can make a change because of the way they help you.
Sometimes it is a negative or a positive change. Animals are loving, caring, and cute.
In the article Saying Farewell to a Faithful Pal, by John Grogon, it explains how pets can be a loving
friend. The author shares when he had a good dog that he trained. He realized how his pet had affected
him a lot. It had trained him life skills. I know this because from the passage it said A person can learn
a lot a dog, even a loopy one like ours (Grogan, Pg 150, pp 13). This quote explains that dogs can help
us change. This experience impact the author because he had learned a lot of life lessons from a dog.

Essay On Presbycusis
Please answer these questions as thoroughly as you possibly can.
1. Please describe presbycusis of the cochlea giving the types and the anatomical site effect and the
implications.
Presbycusis is an acquired hearing loss associated with aging. There are four types of presbycusis:
sensory presbycusis, neural presbycusis, metabolic presbycusis, and mechanical presbycusis. Sensory
presbycusis occurs as a result of damage to the outer hair cells and inner hair cells of the organ of
Corti. More damage is noted with the outer hair cells than the inner hair cells. Speech discrimination is
typically normal in this population because the hearing loss is typically confined to high frequencies.
Neural presbycusis affects hearing all frequencies of pure tones. The hearing loss associated with this
type of presbycusis increases as the frequency of the sound increases. Speech discrimination is
approximately 60% accurate. Neural presbycusis is degeneration of the spiral ganglion and the loss of
auditory neurons throughout the cochlea and auditory pathways. Neural presbycusis is not evident
until the number of normally functioning neurons fall below a critical minimum. The impact of this
type of presbycusis varies in age of onset and severity. It is also thought to be simultaneous with
phonemic regression. Phonemic regression occurs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the stria vascularis is responsible for maintaining chemical balance within the cochlea,
dysfunction in this structure will obviously result in auditory system deficits. In this type, the
audiogram is typically flat, as an indication of 30 40 dB HL at all frequencies. The degree of
degeneration in stria vascularis is directly related to the magnitude of the hearing loss. Patients with
metabolic presbycusis commonly have very good speech recognition

The Well Known African American Activist, Ida B. Wells
The well known African American activist, Ida B. Wells was born on July 16, 1862, during the Civil
War. The author, Mia Bay illustrated the life of Wells in her novel, To Tell the Truth Freely: The Life
of Ida B. Wells Bay demonstrated Well s accomplishments as a free African American and the many
struggles she faced after Reconstruction ended and the Jim Crow Laws were enforced. The events in
her life were relatively distinct, but according to the Burns Belfry Museum and the historical marker
labeled Freedman Town in Oxford, Mississippi, her experiences overall represented the social,
economic, and political circumstances that the majority of African Americans faced in the southern
United States during the thirty years, 1862 1892 from her birth in Holly Springs in 1862 through her
decision to leave Memphis in 1892. The Civil War and the Thirteenth Amendment freed African
Americans, providing them with more opportunities with education, jobs, and religion. Unfortunately
reconstruction ended in 1877 when white southerners regained control of the state legislatures and
reversed the progress made since 1865. Her parents raised Ida B. Wells to take education seriously.
Her responsibilities consisted of going to school and learning everything she could. When she was a
teenager, her aunt presented her with the opportunity to move to Memphis to further her education as
well as obtain a job. Like Wells, many other African Americans moved to the cities in search of

The Pros And Cons Of Police Should Wear Body Cameras
A tube wave rolls over and crashes, knocking a man off of his surfboard and he tumbles into the
ocean, flipping his board over with him. The man heads back onto shore, unmounting his GoPro from
the front of his board and plans to upload and edit the footage from his surfing trip and post it online.
The camera has recorded every move his board has made since the record button was pressed. This is
not the same as using it when a police officer pulls someone over, or when an officer is chasing
someone down, this was for leisure With the deaths of unarmed people like Eric Garner, Michael
Brown, and Freddie Gray, the question regarding whether or not police officers should wear body
cameras has popped up constantly.

Sleepy Hollow
Folk Tale Characteristics in the Legend of Sleepy Hollow
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is one of the most well known stories in American literature, and with
good reason. Throughout his story, Washington Irving uses many stylistic ideas to create a
fantastically detailed and descriptive romantic folk tale.
Irving begins The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with a vivid description of the setting of his story.
Beginning with the Dutch history of the area, he goes on to describe the town as one of the quietest
places in the whole world , with a tranquil brook running through it and the sweet sounds of chirping
birds all around (1). Irving delves into the town s history, citing Indian legends which say that ... Show

The sky is depicted as being clear and serene , and the surrounding trees wore that rich golden livery
which we always associate with the idea of abundance (9). Another half of a paragraph is devoted to
describing the sober and brilliant colors of the grees, the wild ducks flying above, the chattering noises
of the squirrel, and the cry of the quail. The following paragraph is entirely dedicated to noticing all
the local breeds of birds, such as the cockrobin, blackbirds, golden winged woodpecker, cedar bird,
and blue jay. The fruits and vegetables are given special notice as well, and is described as vast, rich,
ample, and holding out the promise of cakes and hasty pudding (10). This description of nature is a
major traditional characteristic of the romantic genre, because it contributes to the fascination with
nature, describing it not only as being beautiful, but also as an abundant resource.
Hearsay is another prominant characteristic of a romantic folk tale. Folk tales are traditionally passed
down orally, and are often subject to exaggerations or outright lies in order to enhance their
entertainment appeal. This stylistic trait is found in many details throughout Irving s story. Right from
the begining of his tale, the narrator lets his audience know that there are many theories regarding the
curse of the Sleepy Hollow land, and no

Analysis Of The Poem Harlem
James Mercer Langston Hughes was an American poet; a Joplin, Missouri native and an active,
versatile writer, earning acclaim as a poet, novelist, playwright and columnist. He was one of the first
poets to explore an innovative sing songy, stylized delivery called jazz poetry.
As an African American, his point of view, collectively synergized with this then new literary art,
catapulted his writings between the 1930s 1960s. He is often credited as the leader of the Harlem
Renaissance, and famously wrote about the period that the negro was in vogue. (Langston).
Throughout his body of work, Hughes spoke eloquently to the full spectrum of dreams both their
inspirational power and their heavy burden, if not fully realized. His famed ... Show more content on

of the speaker s dismissal of ownership. The piece examines, upon deferral, what happens to a dream
Does it dry up / like a raisin the sun?
Hughes later deduces Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. There, with its indication of weight, the
reader draws comparison to a dream being a burden an unbearable, unattainable measuring stick in the
speaker s life, or in this piece s case, America s life.
Hughes, now older, having seen more of the world is grappling with the injustices of equality and
equity. Can an African American attain his/her dream without it wilting under the prejudices of an
unfair America? He saw the dreams of many residents of Harlem, New York disintegrate in the wake
of World War II. Some read this poem as a warning, believing that the speaker argues that deferred
dreams will lead to social unrest. Notably, Lorraine Hansberry chose a line from this poem as the title
of her famous play, A Raisin in the Sun, which explores the idea of delayed dreams in the world of a
black family living in the South Side of Chicago during the 1950s. Both the play and Hughes s poem
champion the power of pursuing dreams, and both comment on the state of civil rights in America.

Revolution in Europe
Introduction
The growth and transformation of a continent is based on social, economic, and political reforms. This
paper discusses Europe s political, social, economic, and especially religious developments of the 15th
and 16th centuries, the formation of England during the reign of Elizabeth 1, Luther s reformed
Christianity, scientific revolution, and the enlightment in Europe and the United States. It focuses
particularly on the northern Renaissance and the independent lay and clerical efforts to reform
religious practice. It then assesses the effect of the reformation on society, religion, and education.
How Discovery of Americas affected European life politically, economically and religiously
In the fifteenth century, commercial supremacy was transferred from the Mediterranean and the
Balticto the Atlantic seaboard. Portuguese and Spanish explorers opened up great opportunities for
trade in gold and spices. The exploration era had a significant impact on Europeans and Native
Americans. Europeans introduced new crops, animals, and diseases from Europe to America and from
Americato Europe. Alien diseases such as measles and smallpox caused massive epidemics among the
Americans (Smith 51). The European voyages would be the beginning of a long period of conquest.
During the trade period, Germany and Switzerland became free imperial cities. This made trade easier

part of you that contains your beliefs, values, attitudes and interests; these aspects are seen as being
relatively constant or stable. Typical responses are the usual ways that you respond to the world

Abstract
This is a visual analysis on the work of 18th century Baroque painter Thomas Jones. This paper
analyses Thomas Jones painting titled Landscape with Dido and Aeneas (Storm). Thomas Jones dates
this painting at 1792 or late Baroque period. The Baroque period in painting emphasized dramatic
scenes, richer colors and textures than in the Renaissance (Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2013). This
paper tries to analyze various formal elements of design, including color, line, and shape. Some
elements that make up the Universal Principles of Design are also considered for Jones s painting,
including proximity, the Rule of Thirds, balance, and composition. The Baroque period makes for

Yeti Vs Rtic Showdown Lab Report
Yeti vs. Rtic Showdown Introduction: Have you ever wondered what cup will keep your drinks the
warmest? For this experiment my partner and I, took a Yeti and Rtic cup and tested which one will
keep our drinks the warmest. Then very soon, you will be able to choose which cup you would want to
rather buy, based on our final answer. Background Information: For a little, no one has really came to
a answer on which cup is better to buy, the Yeti or Rtic cup. The Yeti holds 30 oz and is $34.99 and the
Rtic has 30oz too, but is $12.99. If the Rtic wins, you know you can get a more reliable cup for less
money. If the Yeti wins, you would probably want to buy a more reliable cup, even though it costs
more. If they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So that goes to say that the Yeti and the Rtic are basically the same. The Rtic cup might have been
cooler on average by 1.2º but it is not going to matter if a certain drink is 1.2º warmer than another
one. So if you are trying to decide between the Rtic or the Yeti, they are both comparable cups that are
pretty much the same. This connects to the real world because most people want a reliable cup that is
not very expensive. In that case many people might want to buy the Rtic because it is less expensive
and works just as well. Yeti cup Conclusion: In conclusion, they are about 1.2° apart on average. The
Yeti was the higher result, but still they are very close. In many people s opinions, I think people
would rather buy an Rtic for much less money and it would stay around the exact same temperature.
Each time we recorded our final results for each trial, the Yeti would win by a little. We thought Yeti
would win by a landslide but, it is not worth extra money. As you can see, Yeti is the winner of the

Analysis Of My Three Favorite Characters From Chaucer s...
Interesting Characters
(An Analysis of my Three Favorite Characters from Chaucer s General Prologue)
Chaucer was a writer from the Anglo Saxon Era in which he did many significant things in his short
life. He is known to this day as the father of our language as we know it today. He wrote the series of
stories called the Canterbury Tales, which consist of many different characters that each tell a story. In
these series of stories he is us using the characters to express his mind and feelings towards the
church. Chaucer is upset with the church because he knows what they are doing and how corrupt they
really are. How the priests are supposed to be poor, but instead they tell the people that come to
confess that everything will be alright if they give the priests a certain amount of currency. Also how
the priests are not suppose to have intercourse because they are married to the church, but yet they are
getting with women. The purpose of the tales is to make a political point on the hypocrisy of the
church and the inequality of women to men. Of the twentyfive characters in the General Prologue
there were three that stood out to me the most. The three characters are, The Squire, The Friar, and
The Cook. To begin, the Squire from the General Prologue peaked my interest for many reasons. The
physical characteristics of the Squire are extraordinary such as his luscious hair with the smooth curls.
He is fairly tall, very strong and athletic. This just makes me wonder what

  • 2. 0001 Examples of Methods of Writing or Developing a Paragraph Examples of methods of writing or developing a paragraph Narration Larry suddenly woke up from a deep sleep. The sun was dazzling his half open eyes, and he couldn t figure out what time it was. The door to his room was closed; the house was immersed in some sort of reckless silence. He slowly got out of his bed and approached the bench right next to the window. For a moment, he thought, he heard a tapping sound coming from the attic. Then again he heard the sound, only this time it seemed to be somewhat closer. He looked outside the window and saw a man going by the left side of the road. On seeing Larry, the man approached his garden s fence and whistled. At this point, Larry recognized Nick and waved his hand. He quickly got dressed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The object of the game is simple enough: to know what you want and get it. The moves of the game, by contrast, are infinite and complex, although they usually involve the manipulation or people and situations to your advantage. As for the rules, these are only discovered by playing the game to the end. Cause and Effect In the past century, government has expanded and become more involved in many new fields and aspects of life. One reason for this change is that government has more to because the population has increased by 600 percent over the past 100 years. More rules and regulations are needed to keep larger numbers of people living and working together peacefully. Another reason for government expansion is the growth of cities. The government has been forced to accept responsibility for the water supply, transportation, fire and police protection, and waste disposal in urban areas. Comprised of five main components that strengthen its overall effectiveness in an all hazards environment are preparedness, communications, resource management, command and management and the ongoing management and maintenance (Broder Tucker, 2012). Furthermore, NIMS provides a standardized method that can be applied to all hazards, regardless of their size and jurisdiction. First and foremost, NIMS provides a standardized approach that helps emergency responders work together to prevent and respond to events by utilizing the fore mentioned predetermined components. The Importance Of Rehabilitation Needs In Oncology Occupational therapy has the ability to potentially limit and reverse cancer related disabilities amongst oncology patients, yet it remains extraordinarily underused within adult oncology (Pergolotti et al., 2015). More knowledge is needed regarding functional independence in daily activities of living, coping with stress, difficulties with employment, and the need for future care by healthcare professionals after leaving the hospital (Hwang, 2015). It is known that physical impairments resulting from cancer and the cancer treatment are best addressed by physical therapists and occupational therapists (Sleight Duker, 2016). Therefore, it is necessary for rehabilitative services to be in place to allow for optimal occupational performance after treatment (Movsas et. al., 2003). Implications for Occupational Therapy Practice Occupational therapy practitioners have the knowledge and skills for producing the best quality of life for cancer patients by focusing on their occupational performance issues. Evaluation of a client should begin with an occupational profile that highlights their strengths and weaknesses and managing approaches in various occupations within the context of the client s lifestyle. • 6. The 1900 s Milk Since the beginning of human existence they have always had meat in their diets. Hunting was their life and that is all they would do to survive. As civilization progressed animals became domesticated and farming was invented. The irrigation system further progressed farming allowing for more food yield and better nutrition. The domestication of animals also brought milk into the scene which was used for cooking. Ever since then humans have eaten a mixture of animal and grown food products claiming themselves as omnivores meaning that they eat both plant and animal based foods. ( Choose MyPlate ) Milk is promoted because calcium can reduce the risk of getting osteoporosis. The truth is that calcium from milk is barely absorbed in the bones. The amount of people with osteoporosis in the U.S. rose from 10 million in 2002 to 12 million in 2010 and is expected to be more than 14 million by 2020. ( Facts and Statistics ) In a report done on whether three servings of milk a day was an evidence based recommendation it provides evidence against milk being good and nutritious. This report was done by two medical doctors who each had Phds from the Harvard School of Public Health. They explained how the milk everyday was promoted because of the sugar content in milk that got kids to drink it. They also explained how humans have no nutritional requirement from milk and countries that do not consume milk have a much lower bone fracture rate than countries that do consume milk. They also provide results from a meta analysis that showed that milk consumption had no benefit for bone protection in adults. A meta analysis is a combined report of multiple scientific studies. (Ludwig) Green vegetables such as kale provide just as much calcium as milk and this calcium is better absorbed by bones. Three cups of kale provide the same amount of calcium as one cup of cow s milk without the added fat and cholesterol adding in vitamin a and e. Oranges have about the same amount of calcium as kale and oranges have vitamin c which helps the immune system. Given that three cups is a lot one cup of soy milk has the same amount of calcium as cow s milk and only one ounce of sesame seeds have the same amount of calcium as a cup of milk. • 8. Unit 3 Revolutionary War Period Unit 3: Revolutionary War Period These Patriots act like little children like William Pitt said: This is the mother country, they are the children; they must obey and we prescribe. William Pitt of England. Moments, when they act like little kids, is when the Boston Massacre happened, Boston tea party happened, and when they need the intolerable Act. To begin with, most of the Patriots were pretty mad at England so what do they do when they aren t satisfied with the acts, they try to kill themselves by shouting Fire and throwing clubs at British officials. The officers were just defending but when one of them fell and accidentally fired the rest fired as well. Simple minded people have a hard time understanding something like an Act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To begin with, when the Colonist dumped our prices Tea into the harbor I was actually really surprised because I thought the problem was resolved when the Townshend Act was removed except for the taxes on Tea. If the Colonist just could have looked at the good stuff that the mother country had done then this War would ve been avoided but instead, they decide to create a list that states what King George had done which was just plain stupid not to add anything good. Secondly, when I saw what Samuel Adams had written I felt angry at how people thought that horrible night had gone down. The worst part is that many people believe this garbage and now innocent troops are being punished from this. This all could have been avoided is the Patriots didn t have anger management problems and just rethought their actions than 5 people wouldn t die. Also shouldn t they have been asking to be killed and instead try to reason with them? Lastly, I felt like the intolerable was a last ditch effort to help take control of the Colonist and punish those who misbehave. Another thing this Act disbanded was those town meetings which were actually used as a place to make a plan to rebel. If only people could follow the rules then all these taxes would pass and besides people in Britain had to pay for more than you did. In the end, if the Colonist would have just followed the rules and just pay taxes like normal people would the events like the Boston Massacre, Boston tea party, and Intolerable Act would have been ... • 9. Analysis Of The Movie Forrest Gump Forrest Gump tells the story of a man, who while slightly mentally and physically challenged, is to lead a life full of experiences and wonderment. The audience is teleported to the 1960 s American South and around the globe as they follow Forrest on this journey. By using historical footage, he is placed in seemingly recorded events. The simple love story is interwoven with the upheavals of the Vietnam era, the violent war sequences and solitude he requires to make sense of his changing life. The 1994 film, directed by Robert Zemeckis, works brilliantly on many fronts. The casting of Tom Hanks in the title role and the supporting actors including Sally Fields as Mrs. Gump and Gary Sinise as Lieutenant Dan, all work very well together. But it is the unrequited love between Forrest and Jenny, played by Robin Wright, that is the central narrative of the movie. While events would pull them apart, their relationship was a key to the film s success. The rich and timely musical score includes some of the iconic songs of the period such as Blowin in the Wind by Joan Baez, Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynard and Simon and Garfunkel s, Mrs. Robinson. The power and emotional connection between the action on screen and the music score works wonderfully on this movie. As the movie opens, we meet Forrest and Jenny as they board the elementary bus to school. She is very pretty with straight blond hair while Forrest is awkward and struggling to walk while in heavy metal leg ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Caribbean American Women Carole Boyce Davies discussion on Zora Neale Hurston s essay How It Feels to be Colored Me she uses posits Hurston s proffering to travel piece of the way with visitors as a new way of thinking about the periphery in academia . Beginning her chapter Coming to Terms with Theory, Boyce expresses how outdated and inefficient the current theoretical practices have become. She states that scholars are intellectually trapped by the hierarchical systems within scholarship. Her main critique comes from the reality of upcoming scholars having to laboriously quote Euro American male scholars in order to establish them within their field. Under this standard what we find is that in the constant referencing of these European scholars the racial and cultural hierarchy of western society is sustained. Boyce suggests that common favoring of European scholarly contributions reinforces structural biases towards the consciousness of those in the periphery. As a result, western epistemology continues to drive current scholarship through its standardization. And, moreover, European theory is falsely applied to the estranged consciousnesses. The standardization of European scholarship places limitations on how the marginal subject can articulate its existence. Barbara Christian s The Race for Theory asks For whom are we doing what we are doing when we do literary criticism? Davies would respond to this query by stating that current scholarship is written to and for the center. Based ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Common Criminal Quotes This quote is significant because it details how people who have committed smaller crimes do not represent as large of a threat to The Party as political criminals. Political criminals have demonstrated an active hatred for The Party s ways and a desire to change the political setting. Therefore, common criminals are given positions of trust because The Party understands that their ideals can be changed with much less effort than the political criminals. Winston explains that Party officials claim that he started talking in his sleep and said things such as Down with Big Brother! This is significant because it shows that Winston can no longer suppress his feelings of hatred for Big Brother. Hakuna Matta Compare And Contrast The songs, Hakuna Matata by Elton John and Tim Rice, and Don t Worry, Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin, are easily comparable to each other, for the two share clear differences and similarities in their theme and titles. Out of both songs, I would prefer Don t Worry, Be Happy over Hakuna Matata due to its more realistic lyrics. First, the two songs deliver indistinguishable messages about the importance of carefree lives. McFerrin s lyrics state, ...in your life expect some trouble, when you worry you make it double, but don t worry...be happy now. The artist is pointing out that conflict shouldn t surprise anyone; however, panicking over them only seems to worsen one s problems. Likewise, John and Rice s song says, Hakuna Matata...it means no worries for the rest of your days. These lyrics introduce a philosophy for an untroubled lifestyle. Both songs imply that, in the end, there is no need to fret; this idea can also be found in the title of the songs. Secondly, the song titles, Hakuna Matata and Don t Worry, Be Happy, are nearly identical. The phrase, Hakuna Matata, translates from Swahili to no worries. Sensory presbycusis occurs as a result of damage to the outer hair cells and inner hair cells of the organ of Corti. More damage is noted with the outer hair cells than the inner hair cells. Then very soon, you will be able to choose which cup you would want to rather buy, based on our final answer. Background Information: For a little, no one has really came to a answer on which cup is better to buy, the Yeti or Rtic cup. The Yeti holds 30 oz and is $34.99 and the Rtic has 30oz too, but is $12.99. If the Rtic wins, you know you can get a more reliable cup for less money. If the Yeti wins, you would probably want to buy a more reliable cup, even though it costs more. If they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So that goes to say that the Yeti and the Rtic are basically the same. The Rtic cup might have been cooler on average by 1.2º but it is not going to matter if a certain drink is 1.2º warmer than another one. So if you are trying to decide between the Rtic or the Yeti, they are both comparable cups that are pretty much the same. This connects to the real world because most people want a reliable cup that is not very expensive. In that case many people might want to buy the Rtic because it is less expensive and works just as well. Yeti cup Conclusion: In conclusion, they are about 1.2° apart on average. The Yeti was the higher result, but still they are very close. In many people s opinions, I think people would rather buy an Rtic for much less money and it would stay around the exact same temperature. Each time we recorded our final results for each trial, the Yeti would win by a little. We thought Yeti would win by a landslide but, it is not worth extra money. As you can see, Yeti is the winner of the Yeti v.s. Rtic Showdown! Bibliography: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He is known to this day as the father of our language as we know it today. He wrote the series of stories called the Canterbury Tales, which consist of many different characters that each tell a story. In these series of stories he is us using the characters to express his mind and feelings towards the church. Chaucer is upset with the church because he knows what they are doing and how corrupt they really are. How the priests are supposed to be poor, but instead they tell the people that come to confess that everything will be alright if they give the priests a certain amount of currency. Also how the priests are not suppose to have intercourse because they are married to the church, but yet they are getting with women. The purpose of the tales is to make a political point on the hypocrisy of the church and the inequality of women to men. Of the twentyfive characters in the General Prologue there were three that stood out to me the most. The three characters are, The Squire, The Friar, and The Cook. To begin, the Squire from the General Prologue peaked my interest for many reasons. The physical characteristics of the Squire are extraordinary such as his luscious hair with the smooth curls. He is fairly tall, very strong and athletic. This just makes me wonder what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
