What we usually find is, Marx and his ideas on the economy. Marx on justice is quite uncommon. this short presentation upholds the inner meaning of Marx's ideas on the economy
I have compiled these notes from different resources. I am hopeful that these notes will help students who are willing to grab information on this subject for civil services exams or university exams. Good Luck
Legitimacy maintains political stability because it establishes a regime's right to rule, and so underpins the regime's authority over its people. Legitimacy may be based on traditional, charismatic or legal–rational authority. Nevertheless, structural imbalances in modern society may make it increasingly difficult to maintain legitimacy. Legitimation crises may arise from the conflict between the pressure for social and economic interventionism generated by democracy on the one hand, and the pressure generated by market economy on the other.
There is considerable controversy about how liberal-democratic systems work in practice. Pluralists praise the system's capacity to guarantee popular responsiveness and public accountability. Elitists highlight the tendency for political power to be concentrated in the hands of a privileged minority. Corporatists draw attention to the incorporation of groups into government. The New Right focuses on the dangers of 'democratic overload'. And Marxists point to tensions between democracy and capitalism. There are a number of rival models of democracy, each offering its own version of popular rule. Classical democracy, which is based on the political system of Ancient Athens, is defended on the grounds that it alone guarantees government by the people. Protective democracy gives citizens the greatest scope to live their lives as they choose. Developmental democracy has the virtue that, in extending participation, it widens liberty and fosters personal growth. People's democracy aims to achieve economic emancipation, rather than merely the extension of political rights.

Taxation, Inflation and Public Debt Basic ModelPedroGeyer
In this essay, we present a model of optimal taxation, money creation, and public debt policies chosen by the ruling elite in a society with three social classes: the ruling elite, the middle class, and the poor. The ruling elite seeks to maximise their own utility while preventing rebellion or coups by the other social classes. We also consider the indirect effects of money creation and public debt on wealth redistribution and economic stress. Our results show that the ruling elite will seek to take as much wealth as it can, maintaining the other individuals at the edge of their tolerance. Thus, by providing insights into the trade-offs and incentives facing the ruling elite, this model can help inform policy, political choices, and thought.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Why is there a paradox within conservatism mark scheme
1. Why is there a Paradox within conservatism? (15)
This particular question show be explained in three main parts: Neo-liberalism, Neo-conservatism and the Paradox that exists between them.
Part 1: Neo-liberalism
Neoliberals support a minimal state, one that merely maintains domestic order, enforces contracts and provides defence against foreign
attack, leaving other matters, especially for economic and moral issues, in the hands of the individual.
They do so on two grounds. First, ‘rolling back’ the state unleashes the dynamism of the market, offering the prospect of prosperity for all
by removing the ‘dead hand’ of the state from the economy. Second, it has moral benefits in that it widens individual freedom and
strengthening personal responsibility.
Part 2: Neo-conservatism
Neoconservatives support a strong state, which has an influence that extends clearly into the social and moral realms. They believe that the
state should be strengthened in three main areas.
First, the system of law and order should be made more effective, particularly by using a stronger regime of punishments to deter wrong-
doing.
Second, traditional values should be upheld, if necessary by law, in order to ensure that society is bound together by a common culture.
Third, similar thinking also inclines neoconservatives to support the promotion of national patriotism.
Part 3: The ‘Paradox’
A synthesis of both of these two concepts gives rise to a paradox as they both contradict each other with regards to the role of the state.
Neo-liberalism proposes the restoration of free markets without interference of the state and Neo-conservatism advocates a strong state
that extends its remit into the realms of morality. The paradox also exists partly due to the reactionary nature of conservatism with regards
to excessive amounts of freedom and the inequality generated that would threaten the unity of society. Order in society might be
threatened by excess freedom in the economic sphere. Note! Neoconservatives do not support welfare and social reform, and in this sense
agree with neoliberal thinking regarding the state.
