GEOGRAPHIC CENTER OF THE UNITED STATES
MATH 166
Ian Gilley, Kelvin Brandl, Kayla Muehlhauser, Nathan Koehler, Justin Ebnet, Kylie Bentz Our method
for determining the center of mass of each state is split up into five steps. The first two, file conversion
and sorting, gave a huge amount of raw data, and then condensed it into a workable form. The third
step converted latitude and longitude coordinates into kilometers. The fourth step took the trapezoids
formed by the previous steps and calculated their moments with respect to the x and y axis s. Finally,
the conversions were reversed to give the center of mass. All of the states were downloaded as
shapefiles from the National Boundary Dataset maintained by the USGS. Then then the .shp files were
converted to .kmz with ArcMap10.4, and then converted to .kml with Google Earth. Then the
approximately 30,000 latitude and longitude coordinates for each state were saved as a .txt file and
imported into Excel. The shapefiles gave a coordinate approximately every 400 meters along straight
edges of states, and approximately every 200 meters along rivers and other curved features, and went
out to the eighth decimal place. The territorial seas of costal states which extend three nautical miles
out from the low water mark, and the state boundaries that extend into the Great Lakes and other
bodies of water were included in the laminar sheet. Small islands such as the Florida Keys and those
off the coast of California were assumed to

Production System Essay
Production systems What is a production system? An apparel production system is an integration of
material handling production process, personnel and the equipment that directs work flow and
generates finished products. Different types of production systems are Progressive bundle system Unit
production system Modular production system Each system requires an appropriate management
philosophy, materials handling methods, floor layout, and Employee training. Firms may combine or
adapt these systems to meet their specific production needs. Firms may use only one system, a
combination of systems for one Product line, or different systems for ... Show more content on

Large quantities of work in process are often characteristic of this type of production system. This
may lead to longer throughput time, poor quality concealed by bundles, large inventory, extra
handling, and difficulty in controlling inventory Unit production system A unit production system
(UPS) is a type of line layout that uses an overhead transporter system to move garment components
from work station to work station for Assembly [pic] Work flow of unit production All the parts for a
single garment are advanced through the production line together by means of a hanging carrier that
travels along an overhead conveyor. The overhead rail system consists of the main conveyor and
accumulating rails for each work station. The overhead conveyor operates much like a railroad track.
Carriers are moved along the main conveyor and switched to an accumulating rail at the work station
where an operation is to be performed. At the completion of an operation the operator presses a button,
and the carrier moves on to the next operation. Most unit production systems are linked to a computer
control center that routes and tracks production and provides up to the minute data for management
decisions. The automatic control of work flow sorts work, balances the line, and reduces claims of
favouritism in bundle distribution. Electronic data collection provides payroll and inventory data,
immediate tracking of styles, and costing and performance data for prompt

Oj Simpson Facts
It did not take long for the dead bodies to be discovered. Shortly after the clock struck midnight on
June 13, 1994, Nicole and Ron s bodies were found by police following a 911 call they had received
from a passerby ( He could run ). Chicago police examined OJ s hotel room after he had checked out,
finding a bloody towel and bedsheet, as well as a broken glass. OJ s attorney would go on to claim
that Simpson had broken the glass, thus cutting himself when he heard about Nicole s death ( He could
run ). Los Angeles police officers searched Simpson s mansion upon his return to LA and taking him
in for questioning. While investigating the house, police found tennis shoes and a bloody glove. The
officers also noticed a few stains on the driveway and traces of the victims types of blood at OJ s
estate. ( A guide to the Simpson case ). Evidence including a bloody glove to match the one found at

articles of evidence were displayed and many testimonies were given, but there is one piece that seems
to stand out more than the rest. OJ tried on a pair of leather gloves, consisting of one glove that had
been found at Simpson s estate and another that had been discovered at the scene of the crime, on June

Iran As A Case Of Iran
Iran as a case Iran is a controversial country that has complicated issues with the international
community regarding its own nuclear program. Obviously, Iran is an Islamic country that has strict
rules, and low level of freedom. In terms of religion, unlike the Arab countries who mostly follow the
Sunni branch, most of the population in Iran are following the Shia branch which is a branch of Islam.
Religion to Iranian people and perhaps most of the Arab countries is a really sensitive topic. In
general, as a Muslim, I know that disagree with other branches of Islam in Iran can get you into
conflicts if you have different beliefs, and we will go over that because the Islam s schism is a
significant factor in the Iranian society that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Iran is widely diversified in terms of ethnicity; Persian ethnicity is considered to be the highest with
61 percent of the population while only 16 percent is Azeri(Turkic people originally from Azerbaijan).
Azeris people do not speak Farsi, but they speak a language that is close to Turkish people, which is
quite surprising with that high percentage (20%) On the other hand, Other groups fill out the other 20
percent including Arabs, Kurds, and Baluchis. While the majority of the population in Iran follows the
Shia Islam, some ethnic groups follow Sunni Islam. In my opinion, a good example that demonstrate
the ethnic divisions is the Kurdish people, they are Sunni, and they are facing sort of discrimination
due to their beliefs. The Kurdish has a problem with the Iranian regime since 1979 when they made a
huge protest and a guerrilla war against the regime, and they controlled many northern cities. I think
the reason for the Kurdish movement in the eighties and nineties is the discrimination against them
because most of the Iranian regime leaders are from the Shia branch. In addition to that, I think the
tension between Sunni and Shia is an ethnic conflict that associated with many political, economic
aspects, but the most important aspect is the religion beliefs with Sunni and Shia people that

The Based Sharing Economy Is The Community Based Online...
Technology based sharing economy is the community based online services that sharing the access to
goods and services based on peer to peer mode (Hamari, Sjöklint Ukkonen, 2015).
The widespread of mobile tablets and advanced payment ways motivate the advent of the technology
based sharing economy like Airbnb and Uber. The sharing economy nowadays is just a reengineered
consumption model consists of old processes and digital technologies (Sundararajan, 2013). In other
words, digital technologies are the powerful enablers for the rising of sharing economy.
Sharing economy opens a new door for the whole world, however, there remains some obstinate
problems and one significant issue is the fuzzy regulations. One news reported that NSW ... Show

The fuzzy regulation s promoting the development of sharing economy not only brings impressive
benefits but also causes serious problems.
1.Impact on society
Merits
1)Create further sustainable society. The fuzzy regulations provide a suitable growing environment for
sharing economy performers such as Airbnb and Uber. The application of Uber takes full advantage of
cars not only relieve the congestion but also cuts emissions, which benefits the sustainability of
society.
2)Boost economy for some cities. One study found that 14% of Airbnb customer would not visit a city
without Airbnb (Heinrichs, 2013). As Airbnb rental is cheaper than hotel services, people tend to
travel with Airbnb, which also promote the tourism in these cities.
Demerits
1)Hidden danger caused by fuzzy rules. There remain no clear rules to regulate the peer to peer
business, which will cause great danger. If a car accident occurs to Uber driver, who should take the
responsibility, the driver, the passenger, or Uber whereas Uber may just claim that it just is a
communication platform for car pooling service. Therefore, clear and corresponding rules should be
applied to avoid such flaws.
2)Uncertain service quality. As the emerging of Airbnb and Uber, there are blurred boundaries
between personal and professional services (Malhotra Alstyne, 2014). To what extent, the service
quality is affected. For instance, a noisy

The Music Man Sound Devices
The play, The Music Man, was a well preformed play. At the beginning of the play there was a scene
where all of the salesmen were on a train. The first use of language in this musical is when the
conductor made his first appearance onto the stage. When he began to speak he started speaking the
words came out at an exceedingly fast rate fast and began using words not everyone could understand.
This would be the example that Professor Kenworthy used in class with the toy car salesmen
commercial. His addressed needed to be slowed this also could be seen as semantic noise because of
how fast he was speaking. The next since of language a person could notice is the salesmen, who are
in a small group, begin talking in some sort of rhythm and keeping beat. With all of this physical noise
going on it was tough to focus on what they were actually saying instead of focusing on the rhythm
especially coming from a person who has a music background. The next thing in this scene would be a

The word Wit has multiple definitions, most of which...
The word Wit has multiple definitions, most of which metaphysical poets use in their distinctive
poetic style. Definitions for wit include: the keen perception and cleverly apt expression of those
connections between ideas that awaken amusement and pleasure (Dictionary.com 2014) and
understanding, intelligence, or sagacity, astuteness (Dictionary.com 2014).
In this paper I will unpack the main features of metaphysical poetry and explore the relevance of wit
and conceit in relation to John Donne s works. Furthermore, I will endeavour to make connections
between John Donne, the person and John Donne, the poet. By analysing different poems I will draw
on Donne s history, poetic style, and era to ascertain whether Donne s use of wit is a ... Show more

In 1601, Donne s life s successes were reversed after secretly marrying Anne Moore with whom he
had twelve children. Their marriage ruined his career and he was sent to prison with Samuel Brooke
who married them. The Donne family lived in poverty for ten years and was dependent on the charity
of friends, family and patrons. Donne s works reflects his life s journey where in the early years when
he was enjoying womanizing, travelling and building his career, he wrote his love poems. However,
during Donne s lean years, he wrote his divine poems and elegies for patrons. During the early 1600 s
after being forced to convert to Anglicanism by King James I and the death of his wife Anne in 1617,
Donne continued to write poetry, notably his Holy Sonnets (1618) (Jokinen, 2006). He was consumed
with grief by the loss of his wife for whom he wrote the seventeenth Holy Sonnet, Since she whom I
lov d hath paid her last debt (Jokinen, 2006). In the later years of his life Donne s work focused on
death. His private meditations are testimony to his mind set during this time of his life. Most notably
is Meditation 17, which include the immortal lines No man is an island and never send to know for
whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee (Jokinen, 2006).
The works of John Donne continues to evoke discordance among literary critics. Donne, who is

Willa Paskin s argument was stating that the Game of Thrones was trying to be something it s not.
Basically not trying to give the audience what they want nor expect, to leave some mystery in the fairy
tale. Though I personally don t watch Game of Thrones, I assume season six to be different because it
gives the audience exactly what the want, there is no twist to this season its just getting right to the
point. Another point is made when the women take over, that something that usually never happens, so
yet Game of Thrones are giving the audience what they want. It is significant because it is a win, lose

Religion Is A Complex And Beautiful System
Religion Religion is a system that many people have come to know as one of worship and faith. As

our daily lives. One thing is certain when it comes to religion, there is no ignoring the important role it
plays on many individuals lives, communities, nations, and basically in all corners of the world. Each
human experiences religion in different ways; it is amazing to be able to observe the variety or beliefs

we don t, but either way, there are numerous places of worship that surround us. The places of worship
we encountered were St. Elizabeth Catholic Parish Church located in Aiea on November 17,2015 at
2:10pm, St. Joseph Church November 15, 2015 at 10:30 am in Waipahu, and St. Timothy s Episcopal
Church on November 18, 2015 at 5:30 pm in Waimalu. These churches are similar with the similar art
designs on their walls and ceilings that are portrayed. These art forms are used as symbols, which is
something that means more than what is portrayed. (Guest 598). Most of the art consist of angels,
which symbolized a messenger of god. The Cross represents the symbol of Christ s death and candles
represent the light of Christ. Aside from many similarities, these three churches are also different
because although St. Elizabeth and St. Joseph are both catholic churches run by priests, bishops run

negative consequences can be children looking up to social media celebrities that are not good role

we can potentially better the circumstances at hand. I am going to get the negative aspects at hand, out
of the way so we can end on a better/positive note. Social Media has made a huge uproar a fair few
years now, and with that being said, social media Influencers emerged from it. Social media celebrities
are mostly known in the YouTube world, Twitter, and Instagram are other examples. As they have a
pretty big fan base, and are loved by many, I do not feel like some should have a young audience. I
think it is normal to look up to someone as I did when I was an adolescent (around 13 or 14), but I do
not feel like it is ok to look up to someone who is not genuine. My advice to a parent who has a child

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Bring Back Flogging By Jeff Jacoby
In Jeff Jacoby s essay, Bring Back Flogging, he discusses the modern day justice system, and the ways
in which he believes it should change. Jacoby s stance on the topic is that United States of America
should bring back flogging as an alternate to jailing felons. Jacoby never actually states this view in a
thesis, but it is implied through the evidence given and the general attitude of the essay. Jacoby begins
the essay with an anecdote from the 17 th century. Jacoby says that Bostonian Puritans would often
use flogging as a form of punishment for various different crimes as oppose to other forms of
punishment. He also notes that the Puritans would do other things such as branding with hot irons so
that the felon is known. This anecdote is

The, And, By Stephen Krasner And John Ruggie s...
Many of the authors of the readings for this week seem to be writing past each other. While all of
these readings come from a 10 year time span and discuss multilateralism and/or sovereignty, there are
stark distinctions in who or what is being discussed as the referent object of international relations or
world order. This begs the question, can we read, for instance, Stephen Krasner and Robert Cox in
dialogue with each other or are they writing on the same general topic, but from such distinct
frameworks that the discussion ultimately collapses? Even if the discussion does collapse, is there
something worthwhile in attempting to engage these authors? This paper attempts to place the authors
from this weeks readings in conversation. In doing so, it becomes clear that Krasner and John Ruggie
s conceptions of international relations are shortsighted and problematic. However, Craig Murphy, Sol
Picciotto, Cox, and Claire Cutler all have beneficial insights into global governance. In particular, Cox
s contention that multilateralism has been effective in institutionalizing a liberal economic order that
should not be understood as synonymous with international cooperation aids us in our consideration of
world order. Krasner defines the sovereign state model as a system of political authority based on
territory, mutual recognition, autonomy, and control (2001, 18). Krasner uses this definition, not to
promote the sovereign state model as the global modus operandi (or so

times there are more damaging psychological and emotional effects when a child is sexually abused.
These effects can be short or long term and might not appear until later in life when the child has

Leonardo Da Vinci and the Renaissance Period
Objective
The objective of this work examines the how Leonardo Da Vinci s work is reflective and definitive of
the Renaissance period and as well, describes some of Da Vinci s art. This work will discuss the use of
line, form, color, texture, and materials as found within one of his works and will state reasons this
time period was chosen to examine in this work and why it is found to be appealing.
Introduction
Leonardo Da Vince was born April 15, 1452 near Vinci, Italy and was a painter, sculptor, architect and
engineer whose genius is reported to epitomize the Renaissance humanist ideal. (Bio True Story,
2012) His most popular and influential paintings are those of the Last Supper and Mona Lisa. It is
reported that Da Vinci s notebooks reveal a scientific inquiry and a mechanical prowess that were
centuries ahead of their time. (Bio True Story, 2012) It is reported of Da Vinci that he believed that
sight ¦was man s highest sense because it alone conveyed the facts of experience immediately,
correctly, and with certainty. Hence, every phenomenon perceived became an object of knowledge,
and saper vedere ( knowing how to see ) became the great theme of his studies. (Bio True Story,
2012)
During the second Florentine period Leonardo is reported to have done dissections in the hospital of
Santa Maria Nuova and broadened his anatomical work into a comprehensive study of the structure
and function of the human

President Mckinley s Influence On The Cuban Revolution
On June 26, 1897 President McKinley also convinced Madrid to end the policy of reconcentration and
try having programs to help the Cuban people. President McKinley proclaimed that America and Cuba
had a special relationship this seemed to be a threat towards Spain and that they should heed Americas
request to stop battling Cuba. The killing of Antonio Cánoras del Castillo made it easier for each
region to compromise. Because of his death General Valeriano Weyler wanted to help the refuges and
to also form a Cuban autonomy. The Queen of Spain Maria Christina came up with this plan during
November of 1897 the rebels refused this proposition because they knew that Spain would stay in
power and have a strong army. Spain did not give up the idea of being in power and kept fighting a
useless war. Many of the Spanish peninsulares hated the idea of autonomy and would do anything in
their power to stop the new official Spanish policy. The revolts that were going on during this time
made America not trust Spain and made America believe that Spain cannot control their affairs. Cuba
had many revolts for example, both sides in Cuba preferred war to reform, and the rebels declared for
full independence (342). On February 15th, 1898 an American ship named the Maine was visiting
Havana, THE MAINE then exploded in the harbor and had 266 casualties. With no evidence Spain

Plurality And Pluralism In Islam
Based upon my further observation as a scholar and a Muslim, I find a lot of incompatibility about
your interpretation of Islam with the Qur an. The Qur an implies that all religions shall be more
emphasis on pluralism (diversity and tolerance), and I do believe in it. According to my understanding
on pluralism in Islam, it emphasizes more to the religious tolerance, and does not view Islam as the
only religion to be recognized in the world. Pluralism I meant here also can simply be recognized as a
major foundation in maintaining the state and the society because basically people are diverse one
another. As a true pluralism means acknowledging that all members of society have a right to be able
to embrace the religion in which accordance with their beliefs and everyone is obliged to respect and

O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female; and We have made you into tribes and
subtribes that you may recognize one another. Verily, the most honourable among you, in the sight of

This verse explains that as human beings, we are not only taught to get to know each other, but also
have to respect each other and receive a plurality of the society such as religion. Do not get me wrong.
Once again, Pluralism I meant here is respect and tolerance between individuals in religions. We are
all created differently, but is equal in the eyes of Allah; therefore, we should all be able to respect and
tolerate all the differences that exist. In the Qur an itself, Allah also explained as the following verse:

The Dangers Of Repressing The Id In Judith Guest s...
The Dangers of Repressing the Id:
An ACT Analysis of Judith Guest s Novel Ordinary People Unexpressed emotions will never die.
They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways. This quote by Sigmund Freud
demonstrates the dangers of repressing or bottling up feelings and emotions. His notion of repression
is a commonly discussed topic in psychology, as its dangers can be undermined. Though some people
are fully capable of living with such repression, not having an outlet when facing difficult emotions
can lead to severe mental breakdowns ranging from sorrow to depression. The novel Ordinary People
by Judith Guest delves into repression by suggesting, from a Psychoanalytic perspective, that constant
repression of the Id psychic zone leads to the formation of multiple layers of dangerous defense
mechanisms which can only be controlled by active reversal during regression. Guest s intended
psychoanalytic theme can thus be approached by analyzing it in three separate segments, Conrad s
repression of his Id, Conrad s defense mechanisms and Conrad s regression. Firstly, Conrad s Id has
been nearly entirely repressed by his unconscious, leading him to lack the typical emotions that a
teenager of his age should be feeling. The Id is one of the psychic zones proposed by Freud and it can
be defined as humans unconscious source of instant gratification and animalistic emotions. It is
generally kept in harmony with other psychic zones in order to prevent it from

wake of the 2014 shooting of Michael Brown, a new gun club was formed in Dallas called the Huey P.
Newton Gun Club (HPNGC). Its mission is to provide armed security to businesses in minority
neighborhoods. History of Armed Resistance Armed resistance groups are nothing new. There is a
deep history with gun clubs, which stem back to the Civil Rights era in the 1960 s. Frustrated by the

According to the According to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, homicide is the leading cause of death for black men ages 15 34 nationwide. Gun violence
usually occurs as result of frustrations taking place within extremely oppressed areas. When young
kids don t have a healthy outlet for expressing their anger, it can lead to violence and unnecessary
crime. But what s even more disturbing is the ease of which anyone can purchase a firearm. So many
gun retailers are becoming incredibly lax about who they sell their gun merchandise too. This is also
why it s imperative that proper safety measures are adhered to for these gun clubs, and that you
purchase from a trusted retailer. Moreover, it s also important for other businesses and gun retailers to
be in support of safe gun use, and encourage their customers to invest in weapon s training classes.

Negative Effects Of Caffeine
Background Research Is Caffeine good or bad for living organisms? This is a topic that has been
debated all around the world. Plants are essential to life on earth because of their ability to make food.
They make food by using a process called photosynthesis. Some plants can also produce caffeine on
their own. Caffeine speeds up regeneration in Planaria. Caffeine is used to stimulate the central
nervous system. Caffeine is consumed in large quantities daily, but it can have both positive and
negative effects on living organisms that ingest it. Caffeine is an alkaloid, which is commonly found
in coffee, tea, and pop (Shahab). It has many health benefits, as well as its disadvantages. Drinking

Nitrogen, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and sulfur are all macronutrients. Chlorine,
iron, boron, manganese, zinc, copper, nickel, and molybdenum are all micronutrients. Nitrogen is
needed for the chlorophyll of the plant. The relative number for nitrogen is 1,000,000. It helps speed
up the growth of a plant. Phosphorus is a key element in order for plants to maintain photosynthesis.
Potassium is also a key element for plants to maintain photosynthesis. However, it also helps limit
diseases, and is the element responsible for getting plants protein. Magnesium energizes plant
enzymes that are essential for growth. Sulfur helps boost the growth of roots. Zinc helps control
sugars. Fertilizers also help plants grow and develop. There are four categories of fertilizers; synthetic
fertilizer, organic fertilizer, slow release fertilizer, and fast release fertilizer. Synthetic fertilizers are
manufactured. Organic fertilizers are made from natural materials. Fast release fertilizers quickly
release nutrients to plants. Slow release fertilizers limit the loss of nutrients. (Streich, etal) Plants are

The World Of The Asia Pacific War
The Asia Pacific War was like many other wars; it had an enormous impact on the world, but in Japan
and the United States it affected the way of life. Japanese American soldiers had to overcome and
withstand racism and hostility during this time from the Americans. People were wary of Japanese
Americans fighting for the United States, because it was the Japanese of whom the Americans were
fighting against. After the war, propaganda films were made to convince people of a specific political
point of influence throughout the war. Two propaganda films that were made about the Asia Pacific
War were Go for Broke and Know Your Enemy.
Before I discuss the films and what differences were between the films, I want to discuss what led to
the Asia Pacific War. The Asia Pacific War began, because the Japanese tried expanding in East Asia.
Japanese invasions began with the Manchuria in 1931 and continued for over a decade. The Japanese
were increasingly looking to expand southward, because of Hitler s presence. Eventually Japan,
Germany, and Italy had signed the Tripartite Pact together, which created a military alliance between
them, known as the Axis. The United States did not feel threatened by the Japanese and their alliance,
but they imposed economic instability on Japan. Due to the lack of oil in Japan, the country had
stiffened. Most importantly, it drove Japan to attack Pearl Harbor. The attack severely damaged the
American fleet in the Harbor, preventing the Americans for

Religion vs. Morality Essay
To be moral simply means to do what is right; however, doing what is right is easier said than done.
Perhaps if one was a child, one would, to the best of their abilities, follow what his parents demand of
him, this would constitute them as doing what is right. Now let us say that the child is an orphan, or
does not believe what his parents say is right, should following them still be considered moral, or is it
even up to him to decide? Perhaps the child has evolved past parenting all together and therefore
needs no more guidance. Defining what is considered moral has now become much more complex.
Sam Harris presents the same basic argument of morality in his book Letter to a Christian Nation, by
applying it not to a child and his parents, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While atheists do not believe in God, it does not mean that they do not serve a god and religion.
Capitalism, at least in America, is everyone s religion. It is served each and every day as millions
make the pilgrimage to work, to gain the capacities to tithe into the economy by following the ever
present sermon of buy, buy, buy. The sermon is far greater than any religion of God, for it is sought
out daily by various means such as the television, radio, and advertisements on clothes that society
themselves perpetuate. Martin Luther once stated that one s religion is whatever one is willing to
sacrifice his children for is his religion and God . Millions are being sacrificed by their economies
today; workers are working 12 hour days for less than 2 dollars. Governments are doing all in their
powers to keep unions from forming all in the name of capitalism. Therefore if Harris argument is that
only morality can be accomplished by atheism, and there is no true form of Atheism, then there can be
no true form of morality(religion of the market 67 70). Harris also groups all Christians into one huge
pool of rifle toting, homophobes, who s main concern is to prevent murder of the unborn, all the while
proclaiming that war is just. However, this is where Harris true ignorance shines. This new groups of
Christians , should not even be considered Christians at all. A simple definition of Christian is one
who follows Christ wholly, trying their best to live

Dumb Crime Research Paper
Dumb criminals are arrested for many different crimes. One of the crimes dumb criminals are caught
for is robbery. An example of a burglary involving a dumb criminal is with a man named Milton J.
Hodges. Milton tried to rob a Lowes and ran into a nudist spa. He was the only person dressed, and
was easily spotted. He was arrested later that day. Since Milton was arrested, his arrests proves that
people can be arrested for crimes like burglary. In a situation similar to Milton s, a man breaks into a
husband and wife s house. He roots through their pantries and eats their food. Afterwards the man

arrested for theft is a twelve year old boy who stole a phone. When questioned, the boy denied stealing
the phone. Before the police left, they heard the stolen phone ring in the boy s closet and he was
arrested. The twelve year old boy committed a crime when he stole the phone. His arrest shows that he
was dumb for having the volume on when the police were at the house. His arrest also proves dumb
criminals can be arrested for crimes like theft. Like the twelve year old boy, a thirteen year old boy
was arrested for theft as well. The boy s mother called the police him after he took a pack of pop tarts
without her permission. The boy was arrested but eventually let go. Technically, the boy s actions are
considered theft. His arrest showed dumb criminals are arrested for crimes like theft. Different than
theft, a crime that dumb criminals are often arrested for is assault. An example of a dumb criminal
arrested for assault is a woman arrest for stabbing her co worker. The woman and her co worker were

New Predictive Model For Vaginal Birth After Cesarean
A clear objective of this study has been demonstrated in the paper: To construct a new predictive
model for vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), which incorporates the factors that can only be
obtained as the pregnancy progresses and compare the new model with a previous model that only
have variables available at the first prenatal visit. In this study, authors stated that in a previous model
is limited to the variables which are available at the first prenatal visit, and they want to know whether
incorporating pregnant woman s most recent circumstances can refine the predicted probability of
VBAC. Model and Variables: Logistic model has been use in this study. In previous model, only
variables at first prenatal visit have been used. In this study, Grobman et. al developed the model by
adding the variables that can only be obtained as the pregnancy progresses. Cross validation method
was used to evaluate the predictive power of models. Dataset was equally divided into two parts.
Models were fitted on training set and tested on testing set. Results The significant factors in the
model were presented in table 1. In Fig 1 and 2, calibration curves (empirical probabilities vs
predicted probabilities) were presented. The predicted probabilities are the mid points of five equal
intervals (0% 20%, 21% 40%, ..., etc). The empirical probabilities were calculated by average all
women in the same interval. The closer to the 45 degree line, the better the model is. Figure 1

Carter s The Bloody Chamber
The idea of the female only existing in relation to the male can also be evidenced in Carter s The
Bloody Chamber for example when the narrator recollects My satin nightdress had just been shaken
from its wrappings; it had slipped over my young girl s pointed breasts and shoulders, supple as a
garment of heavy water, and now teasingly caressed me, egregious, insinuating, nudging between my
thighs as I shifted restlessly in my narrow berth (2), this echoes Berger s claim that The surveyor of

Clegg s reactions such as blushing when he is asked by Miranda if he wants to kiss her or if he is
homosexual indicate that because his idealisation of her is that extreme he cannot touch her. To touch
Miranda would ruin his imaginary persona of her, he contents himself in taking photographs of
Miranda in different poses. The male gaze is prominent in the taking of the photos, Clegg states, It
was my chance I had been waiting for. I got the old camera and took some photos, I would have taken
more only she started to move a bit, so I had to pack up and get out quick. (95). Mulvey s theory of the
male gaze occurs when the audience is put into the perspective of a man, when a scene focuses on
such aspects as the curves of a female s body, therefore putting the viewer in the eyes of a male. This
is similar to what is happening when Clegg is taking the photographs as he earlier states I took of her
dress and her stockings and left on certain articles, just the brassieres and the other so as not to go the
whole hog. She looked a real picture lying there (95), by doing this the reader is allowed insight to
Clegg s perspective, it is clear by his language that he is manipulating her, he changes her clothing and
places her down in a position that enables him to focus on her body in order to achieve the desired
photographs.

Pros And Cons Of A Good Ozone And Good Ozone
Good ozone
Bad ozone
Ozone occurs in two layers of the atmosphere. The ozone that is commonly associated with ozone
depletion and the ozone hole is in the stratosphere, a layer that extends upward from about 10 to 30
miles (15 to 50 kilometers) above the earth. This good ozone shields life on earth from the sun s
harmful ultraviolet rays (UV b).
The layer surrounding the earth s surface is the troposphere. Here, ground level or bad ozone is an air
pollutant that damages human health, vegetation, and many common materials. It is a key ingredient
of urban smog. The troposphere extends from the surface to about 10 miles (15 kilometers) above the
surface. Ground level, or bad ozone , is also called tropospheric ozone while good ozone is called
stratospheric ozone. About 80 90% of all ozone in the atmosphere is found in the stratosphere ... Show

cataracts and immune system impairments, if UV exposure is too high. Ozone is also commonly used
in mold remediation and as an effective means of odor control.
In our modern technologically advanced society, man made activities have been depleting our ozone

Legion of Cyber Crime
Black hat, grey hay, white hat, all terms to identify different classes or cyber criminals, all tied
together under the label of hacker. Whether it is for the greater good or for pure evil, cyber security
seems to be breached every day as the media puts out headlines of major retailers, governments, and
social media sites being broken into for personal information, mockery, or even to instigate real
physical war. The recent surge of technological advances has brought attention to a deadly force once
overlooked by all, the hackers. These individuals commit cyber crimes because they can retain
anonymity, it is easier and less dangerous than a physical crime, and it makes it easy to draw attention
on whatever it is they are attacking, which is why we as a society need to be educated on their motives
and means of attack to protect us from their criminal actions. Criminals seem to be evolving at a
quicker rate than technology, learning lessons from past criminals being caught and/or killed and
adapting to the changing smart society.
Millennials always hear from their parents to be wary of what they post online because it stays there
forever, but the hackers of today laugh at that and are virtually invisible in any crimes they choose to
commit. They are able to keep their anonymity through data encryption, computer zombification, and
deep web browsers. Data encryption is one basic tool used by

Higher Education in Saudi Aberia
This research paper introduces, analyzes and evaluates the situation of higher education in Saudi
Arabia in terms of the past, present and future. Both the past form and the present situation have their
strong sides and weakness. Since education is very important for a country s future, it is helpful to
know what essences a good education system should have, how education contributes to a country s
power, and what improvements need to be made to make education better serve the development of
Saudi Arabia.
Introduction
Higher education is an important, if not the most important aspect, in a country s functions and
abilities to fulfill current national needs and strive for a brighter future. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
was established in 1932. It was a poor country initially, with a small educational system comprising of
only 12 schools and 700 students. Situation changed after 1938, when large amount of oil was
discovered underground in Saudi Arabia. The kingdom became quite wealthy, leading to the
accelerating development of this country s educational system as well. Understanding the historical
development of higher education in Saudi Arabia, evaluating the strength and weakness in different
times, and knowing what an effective educational system should be are helpful in improving the level
of higher education in Saudi Arabia, which is necessary for this country to constantly enhance its
power in global competitions and keep a strong standing in the world.

  • 2. Geographic Center Of The United States GEOGRAPHIC CENTER OF THE UNITED STATES MATH 166 Ian Gilley, Kelvin Brandl, Kayla Muehlhauser, Nathan Koehler, Justin Ebnet, Kylie Bentz Our method for determining the center of mass of each state is split up into five steps. The first two, file conversion and sorting, gave a huge amount of raw data, and then condensed it into a workable form. The third step converted latitude and longitude coordinates into kilometers. The fourth step took the trapezoids formed by the previous steps and calculated their moments with respect to the x and y axis s. Finally, the conversions were reversed to give the center of mass. All of the states were downloaded as shapefiles from the National Boundary Dataset maintained by the USGS. Then then the .shp files were converted to .kmz with ArcMap10.4, and then converted to .kml with Google Earth. Then the approximately 30,000 latitude and longitude coordinates for each state were saved as a .txt file and imported into Excel. The shapefiles gave a coordinate approximately every 400 meters along straight edges of states, and approximately every 200 meters along rivers and other curved features, and went out to the eighth decimal place. The territorial seas of costal states which extend three nautical miles out from the low water mark, and the state boundaries that extend into the Great Lakes and other bodies of water were included in the laminar sheet. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Large quantities of work in process are often characteristic of this type of production system. This may lead to longer throughput time, poor quality concealed by bundles, large inventory, extra handling, and difficulty in controlling inventory Unit production system A unit production system (UPS) is a type of line layout that uses an overhead transporter system to move garment components from work station to work station for Assembly [pic] Work flow of unit production All the parts for a single garment are advanced through the production line together by means of a hanging carrier that travels along an overhead conveyor. The overhead rail system consists of the main conveyor and accumulating rails for each work station. The overhead conveyor operates much like a railroad track. Carriers are moved along the main conveyor and switched to an accumulating rail at the work station where an operation is to be performed. At the completion of an operation the operator presses a button, and the carrier moves on to the next operation. Most unit production systems are linked to a computer control center that routes and tracks production and provides up to the minute data for management decisions. The automatic control of work flow sorts work, balances the line, and reduces claims of favouritism in bundle distribution. • 4. Oj Simpson Facts It did not take long for the dead bodies to be discovered. Shortly after the clock struck midnight on June 13, 1994, Nicole and Ron s bodies were found by police following a 911 call they had received from a passerby ( He could run ). Chicago police examined OJ s hotel room after he had checked out, finding a bloody towel and bedsheet, as well as a broken glass. OJ s attorney would go on to claim that Simpson had broken the glass, thus cutting himself when he heard about Nicole s death ( He could run ). Los Angeles police officers searched Simpson s mansion upon his return to LA and taking him in for questioning. While investigating the house, police found tennis shoes and a bloody glove. The officers also noticed a few stains on the driveway and traces of the victims types of blood at OJ s estate. ( A guide to the Simpson case ). • 5. Iran As A Case Of Iran Iran as a case Iran is a controversial country that has complicated issues with the international community regarding its own nuclear program. Obviously, Iran is an Islamic country that has strict rules, and low level of freedom. In terms of religion, unlike the Arab countries who mostly follow the Sunni branch, most of the population in Iran are following the Shia branch which is a branch of Islam. Religion to Iranian people and perhaps most of the Arab countries is a really sensitive topic. In general, as a Muslim, I know that disagree with other branches of Islam in Iran can get you into conflicts if you have different beliefs, and we will go over that because the Islam s schism is a significant factor in the Iranian society that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Iran is widely diversified in terms of ethnicity; Persian ethnicity is considered to be the highest with 61 percent of the population while only 16 percent is Azeri(Turkic people originally from Azerbaijan). Azeris people do not speak Farsi, but they speak a language that is close to Turkish people, which is quite surprising with that high percentage (20%) On the other hand, Other groups fill out the other 20 percent including Arabs, Kurds, and Baluchis. While the majority of the population in Iran follows the Shia Islam, some ethnic groups follow Sunni Islam. In my opinion, a good example that demonstrate the ethnic divisions is the Kurdish people, they are Sunni, and they are facing sort of discrimination due to their beliefs. The Kurdish has a problem with the Iranian regime since 1979 when they made a huge protest and a guerrilla war against the regime, and they controlled many northern cities. I think the reason for the Kurdish movement in the eighties and nineties is the discrimination against them because most of the Iranian regime leaders are from the Shia branch. In addition to that, I think the tension between Sunni and Shia is an ethnic conflict that associated with many political, economic aspects, but the most important aspect is the religion beliefs with Sunni and Shia people that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fuzzy regulation s promoting the development of sharing economy not only brings impressive benefits but also causes serious problems. 1.Impact on society Merits 1)Create further sustainable society. The fuzzy regulations provide a suitable growing environment for sharing economy performers such as Airbnb and Uber. The application of Uber takes full advantage of cars not only relieve the congestion but also cuts emissions, which benefits the sustainability of society. 2)Boost economy for some cities. One study found that 14% of Airbnb customer would not visit a city without Airbnb (Heinrichs, 2013). As Airbnb rental is cheaper than hotel services, people tend to travel with Airbnb, which also promote the tourism in these cities. Demerits 1)Hidden danger caused by fuzzy rules. There remain no clear rules to regulate the peer to peer business, which will cause great danger. If a car accident occurs to Uber driver, who should take the responsibility, the driver, the passenger, or Uber whereas Uber may just claim that it just is a communication platform for car pooling service. Therefore, clear and corresponding rules should be applied to avoid such flaws. 2)Uncertain service quality. As the emerging of Airbnb and Uber, there are blurred boundaries between personal and professional services (Malhotra Alstyne, 2014). To what extent, the service quality is affected. • 7. The Music Man Sound Devices The play, The Music Man, was a well preformed play. At the beginning of the play there was a scene where all of the salesmen were on a train. The first use of language in this musical is when the conductor made his first appearance onto the stage. When he began to speak he started speaking the words came out at an exceedingly fast rate fast and began using words not everyone could understand. This would be the example that Professor Kenworthy used in class with the toy car salesmen commercial. Definitions for wit include: the keen perception and cleverly apt expression of those connections between ideas that awaken amusement and pleasure (Dictionary.com 2014) and understanding, intelligence, or sagacity, astuteness (Dictionary.com 2014). In this paper I will unpack the main features of metaphysical poetry and explore the relevance of wit and conceit in relation to John Donne s works. In 1601, Donne s life s successes were reversed after secretly marrying Anne Moore with whom he had twelve children. Their marriage ruined his career and he was sent to prison with Samuel Brooke who married them. The Donne family lived in poverty for ten years and was dependent on the charity of friends, family and patrons. Donne s works reflects his life s journey where in the early years when he was enjoying womanizing, travelling and building his career, he wrote his love poems. However, during Donne s lean years, he wrote his divine poems and elegies for patrons. During the early 1600 s after being forced to convert to Anglicanism by King James I and the death of his wife Anne in 1617, Donne continued to write poetry, notably his Holy Sonnets (1618) (Jokinen, 2006). He was consumed with grief by the loss of his wife for whom he wrote the seventeenth Holy Sonnet, Since she whom I lov d hath paid her last debt (Jokinen, 2006). In the later years of his life Donne s work focused on death. His private meditations are testimony to his mind set during this time of his life. Most notably is Meditation 17, which include the immortal lines No man is an island and never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee (Jokinen, 2006). A Rhetorical Analysis Of Bring Back Flogging By Jeff Jacoby In Jeff Jacoby s essay, Bring Back Flogging, he discusses the modern day justice system, and the ways in which he believes it should change. Jacoby s stance on the topic is that United States of America should bring back flogging as an alternate to jailing felons. Jacoby never actually states this view in a thesis, but it is implied through the evidence given and the general attitude of the essay. Jacoby begins the essay with an anecdote from the 17 th century. Jacoby says that Bostonian Puritans would often use flogging as a form of punishment for various different crimes as oppose to other forms of punishment. While all of these readings come from a 10 year time span and discuss multilateralism and/or sovereignty, there are stark distinctions in who or what is being discussed as the referent object of international relations or world order. This begs the question, can we read, for instance, Stephen Krasner and Robert Cox in dialogue with each other or are they writing on the same general topic, but from such distinct frameworks that the discussion ultimately collapses? Even if the discussion does collapse, is there something worthwhile in attempting to engage these authors? This paper attempts to place the authors from this weeks readings in conversation. In doing so, it becomes clear that Krasner and John Ruggie s conceptions of international relations are shortsighted and problematic. However, Craig Murphy, Sol Picciotto, Cox, and Claire Cutler all have beneficial insights into global governance. In particular, Cox s contention that multilateralism has been effective in institutionalizing a liberal economic order that should not be understood as synonymous with international cooperation aids us in our consideration of world order. Krasner defines the sovereign state model as a system of political authority based on territory, mutual recognition, autonomy, and control (2001, 18). President Mckinley s Influence On The Cuban Revolution On June 26, 1897 President McKinley also convinced Madrid to end the policy of reconcentration and try having programs to help the Cuban people. President McKinley proclaimed that America and Cuba had a special relationship this seemed to be a threat towards Spain and that they should heed Americas request to stop battling Cuba. The killing of Antonio Cánoras del Castillo made it easier for each region to compromise. Because of his death General Valeriano Weyler wanted to help the refuges and to also form a Cuban autonomy. The Queen of Spain Maria Christina came up with this plan during November of 1897 the rebels refused this proposition because they knew that Spain would stay in power and have a strong army. Spain did not give up the idea of being in power and kept fighting a useless war. Many of the Spanish peninsulares hated the idea of autonomy and would do anything in their power to stop the new official Spanish policy. The revolts that were going on during this time made America not trust Spain and made America believe that Spain cannot control their affairs. Cuba had many revolts for example, both sides in Cuba preferred war to reform, and the rebels declared for full independence (342). • 21. The Dangers Of Repressing The Id In Judith Guest s... The Dangers of Repressing the Id: An ACT Analysis of Judith Guest s Novel Ordinary People Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways. This quote by Sigmund Freud demonstrates the dangers of repressing or bottling up feelings and emotions. His notion of repression is a commonly discussed topic in psychology, as its dangers can be undermined. Though some people are fully capable of living with such repression, not having an outlet when facing difficult emotions can lead to severe mental breakdowns ranging from sorrow to depression. The novel Ordinary People by Judith Guest delves into repression by suggesting, from a Psychoanalytic perspective, that constant repression of the Id psychic zone leads to the formation of multiple layers of dangerous defense mechanisms which can only be controlled by active reversal during regression. Guest s intended psychoanalytic theme can thus be approached by analyzing it in three separate segments, Conrad s repression of his Id, Conrad s defense mechanisms and Conrad s regression. Firstly, Conrad s Id has been nearly entirely repressed by his unconscious, leading him to lack the typical emotions that a teenager of his age should be feeling. The Id is one of the psychic zones proposed by Freud and it can be defined as humans unconscious source of instant gratification and animalistic emotions. It is generally kept in harmony with other psychic zones in order to prevent it from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Perhaps if one was a child, one would, to the best of their abilities, follow what his parents demand of him, this would constitute them as doing what is right. Now let us say that the child is an orphan, or does not believe what his parents say is right, should following them still be considered moral, or is it even up to him to decide? Perhaps the child has evolved past parenting all together and therefore needs no more guidance. Defining what is considered moral has now become much more complex. It is served each and every day as millions make the pilgrimage to work, to gain the capacities to tithe into the economy by following the ever present sermon of buy, buy, buy. The sermon is far greater than any religion of God, for it is sought out daily by various means such as the television, radio, and advertisements on clothes that society themselves perpetuate. • 30. The Teenage Brain Achieve Coherence Ravina The most convincing ideas in the world, conceived and expressed in the most arresting sentences will have no effect if not connected properly to one another. Unless the reader can easily understand and move from one thought to the next, they will have limits to understanding anything they are reading. Providing techniques such as pronoun reference, transitions and parallel structure help Vincenzo Ravina, the author of the article The Teenage Brain achieve coherence. Coherence is obtained when ideas and sentences flow together smoothly and consistently. Granted, the brain itself is the main, key topic of Ravina s essay. It is etched between every sentence and lined in the paragraphs, but not always in plain sight pronoun reference is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. New Predictive Model For Vaginal Birth After Cesarean A clear objective of this study has been demonstrated in the paper: To construct a new predictive model for vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), which incorporates the factors that can only be obtained as the pregnancy progresses and compare the new model with a previous model that only have variables available at the first prenatal visit. In this study, authors stated that in a previous model is limited to the variables which are available at the first prenatal visit, and they want to know whether incorporating pregnant woman s most recent circumstances can refine the predicted probability of VBAC. Model and Variables: Logistic model has been use in this study. In previous model, only variables at first prenatal visit have been used. In this study, Grobman et. al developed the model by adding the variables that can only be obtained as the pregnancy progresses. Cross validation method was used to evaluate the predictive power of models. Dataset was equally divided into two parts. Models were fitted on training set and tested on testing set. Results The significant factors in the model were presented in table 1. In Fig 1 and 2, calibration curves (empirical probabilities vs predicted probabilities) were presented. The predicted probabilities are the mid points of five equal intervals (0% 20%, 21% 40%, ..., etc). The empirical probabilities were calculated by average all women in the same interval. The closer to the 45 degree line, the better the model is. Figure 1 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Carter s The Bloody Chamber The idea of the female only existing in relation to the male can also be evidenced in Carter s The Bloody Chamber for example when the narrator recollects My satin nightdress had just been shaken from its wrappings; it had slipped over my young girl s pointed breasts and shoulders, supple as a garment of heavy water, and now teasingly caressed me, egregious, insinuating, nudging between my thighs as I shifted restlessly in my narrow berth (2), this echoes Berger s claim that The surveyor of woman in herself is male; the surveyed female as this quote shows the narrator is describing herself as if to please a man, the fact that the night dress was given to her by the Marquis shows how she is willing to see herself through his eyes as if ... Clegg s reactions such as blushing when he is asked by Miranda if he wants to kiss her or if he is homosexual indicate that because his idealisation of her is that extreme he cannot touch her. To touch Miranda would ruin his imaginary persona of her, he contents himself in taking photographs of Miranda in different poses. The male gaze is prominent in the taking of the photos, Clegg states, It was my chance I had been waiting for. I got the old camera and took some photos, I would have taken more only she started to move a bit, so I had to pack up and get out quick. (95). Mulvey s theory of the male gaze occurs when the audience is put into the perspective of a man, when a scene focuses on such aspects as the curves of a female s body, therefore putting the viewer in the eyes of a male. This is similar to what is happening when Clegg is taking the photographs as he earlier states I took of her dress and her stockings and left on certain articles, just the brassieres and the other so as not to go the whole hog. She looked a real picture lying there (95), by doing this the reader is allowed insight to Clegg s perspective, it is clear by his language that he is manipulating her, he changes her clothing and places her down in a position that enables him to focus on her body in order to achieve the desired photographs. ... • 33. Pros And Cons Of A Good Ozone And Good Ozone Good ozone Bad ozone Ozone occurs in two layers of the atmosphere. The ozone that is commonly associated with ozone depletion and the ozone hole is in the stratosphere, a layer that extends upward from about 10 to 30 miles (15 to 50 kilometers) above the earth. This good ozone shields life on earth from the sun s harmful ultraviolet rays (UV b). The layer surrounding the earth s surface is the troposphere. Here, ground level or bad ozone is an air pollutant that damages human health, vegetation, and many common materials. It is a key ingredient of urban smog. The troposphere extends from the surface to about 10 miles (15 kilometers) above the surface. Ultraviolet radiation, or UV rays, can create a host of health issues, such as skin cancer, cataracts and immune system impairments, if UV exposure is too high. Ozone is also commonly used in mold remediation and as an effective means of odor control. In our modern technologically advanced society, man made activities have been depleting our ozone layer faster than ever. As our protective ozone shield becomes compromised, more UV radiation makes its way to the earth s surface. She washed us in a river of make believe, burned us with a lot of knowledge we didn t necessarily need to know, (Page 79). Her knowledge on those subjects still doesn t mean that it is any use to her family directly. Likewise, Maggie is also very clever. Maggie may not be as educated as Dee, but she is still very clever. Maggie shows how clever she is when she says this, Aunt Dee s first husband whittled the dash... His name was Henry, but they called him Stash. At that, Dee comments, Maggie s brain is like an elephant s, (Page 81). Maggie is clever because she can remember things from a long time ago. The Legion Of Cyber Crime Davit Temurian English 115 M W Dawahare 15 November 2014 Legion of Cyber Crime Black hat, grey hay, white hat, all terms to identify different classes or cyber criminals, all tied together under the label of hacker. Whether it is for the greater good or for pure evil, cyber security seems to be breached every day as the media puts out headlines of major retailers, governments, and social media sites being broken into for personal information, mockery, or even to instigate real physical war. The recent surge of technological advances has brought attention to a deadly force once overlooked by all, the hackers. These individuals commit cyber crimes because they can retain anonymity, it is easier and less dangerous than a physical crime, and it makes it easy to draw attention on whatever it is they are attacking, which is why we as a society need to be educated on their motives and means of attack to protect us from their criminal actions. Criminals seem to be evolving at a quicker rate than technology, learning lessons from past criminals being caught and/or killed and adapting to the changing smart society. Millennials always hear from their parents to be wary of what they post online because it stays there forever, but the hackers of today laugh at that and are virtually invisible in any crimes they choose to commit. They are able to keep their anonymity through data encryption, computer zombification, and deep web browsers. Data encryption is one basic tool used by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
