Introduction . In The Early 2020’S An Oral Medication Was
Introduction
In the early 2020 s an oral medication was developed to treat HIV/AIDS, eventually this medication
came to be the new cure for the infection. In the following years, HIV was no longer an issue or a
cause for concern, as health professionals declared an HIV/AIDS free world. Nine years later, in 2031
a new strain of HIV emerged. This new strain has become resistant to the original oral medication that
cured HIV/AIDS years before. In addition, the virus has mutated to a point in which that it is
spreading at twice the pace as the original strain. The virus is more aggressive and no course of
previous treatment has proved effective in mitigating the effects. Thus, individuals have come under
greater risk of being infected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Interest
This prevention study will work towards discovering if social changes in the lives of drug users and
sex workers will act as a form of prevention in being infected with HIV. Through social programming
such as, HIV education courses, economic opportunities through small businesses, and safe injection
sites this study will look towards a correlation between these attributes and a decline in high risk
behaviors thus preventing the risk of HIV infection. The concept of risk environment plays a role in
the increase in risk of infection as it is regarded as the space, whether social or physical, in which a
variety of factors exogenous to the individual interact to increase vulnerability to HIV (Roy et. Al,
2011). Many studies of vulnerable individuals such as injection drug users, sex workers, and the
homeless have shown that these factors have a significant influence on their health since they shape
daily risk taking (Roy et. Al, 2011). Thus, due to said situations reports of individuals having traded
sex for money, drugs, or other commodities for survival, increases HIV incidence of this high risk
behavior (Roy et Al, 2011). Therefore this study will work towards mitigating the situations that put
individuals as risk of HIV infection, as a form of prevention.
Idea
This prevention study will create public social service programs in order

Medical Marijuana Dependence Research
Another myth surrounding the use of the plant is on dependence. Marijuana invokes an image of
people getting high and having problems abstaining from the substance. This is untrue. Solomon
(1966) clearly states that marihuana users do not come from the criminal class. Aggressiveness is not
commonly seen among these users. Dependence or tolerance is characterized by prominent
withdrawal symptoms. This is the true hallmark or defining characteristic of drug addiction. In the
recent years, there is very little evidence to support the claim that marijuana caries a true risk of
addiction. Studies, taken by Earleywine (2005), stated existing data do not prove that marijuana use
correlates with an increase in teen marijuana dependence. Solomon adds ... Show more content on

First, the opposition states that marijuana has dangerous side effects when smoked. This includes
cancer, and stunted growth. To counter this, the author of the essay stated earlier that there are
different ways to administer marijuana. Inhalation of the fumes is not the only method. Cannabis can
be taken intravenously, orally, and topically. These methods remove the risk of the abovementioned
health problems. Another statement is that although natural, the plant still contains toxic chemicals
and these produce dangerous side effects. To start with, the opposition claims that THC is the
chemical responsible for the harmful effects in one s body. Marinol, which is what the opposition
prescribes, also contains

The Pains Of Sleep By Robert Southey Essay
The couplets encompass the odd tension of The Pains of Sleep : the ending is both over long,
extending the natural length of the stanza by an additional two lines, and abrupt, answering the
universal despair of wherefore fall on me? with an admittedly lacklustre response. The insistent
repetition such , wherefore , love furthers the resounding resolution of the poem. Coleridge s draft of
the poem in a letter to Robert Southey suggests that there is potential for movement beyond the
declaration of the last line, for he affixes c c c c c onto the end of the line, and whilst a large portion of
the draft is altered for its publication in 1816, this line remains untouched. Perhaps the clue is in one
of the lines from The Pains of Sleep which is altered for its 1816 publication but exists in the draft
version sent to Southey as well: The self created Hell within. (Letter to Robert Southey, September 12
1803.) The unfathomable Hell within. ( The Pains of Sleep , line 46.) The poem can be seen as a
verbal translation of the self created Hell within : whilst the poem is structurally contained, the
unfathomable interior world it describes, and the claustrophobic blending of reality and unreality, all
contribute to it seeming incomplete upon interrogation. Coleridge rejects the universal question in
favour of a personal answer because the poem cannot adequately make sense of the distorted images it
contains. Unlike

Miranda Rights Research Paper
The Miranda rights that police are required to give persons they are about to arrest did not become law
until March 2, 1966. It started when an eighteen year old women told the police she was abduct, taken
to the desert and rape. The police arrested and questioned Ernesto Miranda. In 1966, the case of
Miranda vs .Arizona went to the Supreme Court of the United States. The court ruled that police must
advise you of your rights when they make an arrest. The Court said that when a person is arrested
he/she must be told what their rights are: the right to remain silent, that anything you say can be used
against you in a court of law and that you have right to an attorney. The court also said that if you
cannot afford attorney, one will be appoint to you at the expense of the citizens of the United States. If

My Sorority Is A Discourse Community
The discourse community I have chosen is within my sorority, Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delta). There are
many stereotypes associated with Tri Delta, and that is the most irritating thing about being in a
sorority. Anyone from my high school would insist that I am not a sorority girl if someone were to ask
them. When I started my fall semester, I was not expecting to rush because once again again, I am not
the sorority type . Greek life at Boise State is unlike any other campus. Some may think that being in a
sorority is all about social standing, parties, and being better than the people around you. In reality, it
is the exact opposite. For the rest of this paper, I am going to prove to you why Tri Delta is a discourse
community. In order to get information for my paper, I interviewed someone with a position of
authority within Tri Delta. Her name is Danielle, and she is the new member educator. The first thing I
learned about Tri Delta is that it is more than just letters on a shirt, songs and chants, a gold pin,
socials, rituals, an obligation, or a way of life. Being in a sorority is about learning about people and
being able to give without expecting a return. Tri Delta has allowed me to find lifelong friends and
find confidence in myself as well as in my sisters, Danielle explained. After hearing her explanation, I
couldn t agree more. Danielle also told me that the close relationships are her favorite part. My
favorite part about being in Tri Delta is the sisterhood.

Case Study: The Court Was Appalled
In Tomcik v. Ohio Dep t of Rehabilitation Correction, the plaintiff, Tomcik, was in the custody of the
defendant, a penal institution. Tomcik alleged that it was the delay in her examination that ultimately
led to the removal of her right breast; had she been seen in a more timely manner, much of the breast
could have been spared. The defendant, the corrections department, contended that even if it were
negligent, Tomcik s cancer was so advanced when discovered that it would nevertheless have required
removal of her breast. The Ohio Court of Appeals held that the delay in providing treatment to Tomcik
fell below the medically acceptable standard of care.
Summarize the Case: The Court Was Appalled.
Janet Tomcik, age 31, was assign to participate in the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction
center in the state of Ohio on April 28, 1989 for having burglar tools in her custody. The policy of the
institutes states every new inmate must have a physical examination to record current medical status.
Ms. Tomcik had her medical assessment done on May 26, 1989 by Dr. Evans. The next day she
inspected her own breasts and found a pea size lump in the right one. She notified medical personal
but she did not receive a re examination until June 21 by a nurse who stated the mass was large.

Persuasive Essay On My Cochlear Implant
Imagine being profoundly deaf and being told by your doctor that you won t be able to hear certain
voices or sounds in your life. Imagine living with that statement every day, and knowing that you won
t be able to hear the whispers in the background or birds chirping when taking a nice walk. Until one
day, everything has changed. All because of one technology, you are able to hear much more than you
were expecting to hear. This whole situation is based on my life, and you are going to learn how much
a CI have impacted me. A CI is a cochlear implant, and it is a device that is worn by a deaf person, and
it sends neural transmitters to the cochlea, and it helps them hear greatly. There are some factors that

They were all so helpful to me, and gave me the most amazing stories, I was very touched by them.
The second individual factor I used was I would practice understanding how to hear with my Cochlear
Implant, every day, for about a couple years, until the beeping noise would stop. The reason for this is
because, whenever a deaf person first gets their cochlear implant, all noises will be beeping. The
beeping will eventually stop whenever the cochlea will get used to hearing with a Cochlear Implant,
rather than a hearing aid. I would turn off my hearing aid every day, and practice listening to people
and certain different sounds. When I started doing this, amazing things happened. I developed into
being able to hear with my Cochlear implant so well, I could hear birds chirping and ocean waves
crashing for the first time. Since the Cochlear Implant turned on, I could hear my father s laugh for the
first time, and it took weeks to get used to it and fully develop on knowing his voice. I feel like as if
these factors would be individual because I was the one that advocated for myself and research some
information for my own benefit. I wanted to learn how to hear with a Cochlear Implant rather quickly,
and develop that activity, so that I could be able to hear much clearer and better.

Black Gold Anthropology
Coffee is not just a drink. It s a global commodity. Multinational coffee companies now dominate the
industry worth over $80 billion, making coffee the most valuable trading commodity in the world after
oil. While we continue to pay for our lattes and cappuccinos, the price paid to coffee farmers remains
so low that many have been forced to abandon their coffee fields. This conundrum is most evident in
no place other than Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee.
Black Gold (2008), a film by Nick and Marc Francis does a remarkable job of uncovering the
scandalous, yet moving, story of Tadesse Meskela, one man on a mission to save his thousands of
struggling coffee farmers from bankruptcy. As his farmers strive to harvest some of the highest quality
coffee beans on the international market, Tadesse travels the world in an attempt to find buyers willing
to pay a fair price after his realization that a previous buyer had been paying him pennies compared to
what they made from the coffee.

the stores afloat a world away. The film gave me a want to do more for the unrepresented countries
that suffer the same economic fate as Ethiopia the want to help make a difference. Other cultural

Letter From The Qianlong Emperor King George IIi
History Assignment 2 Document Analysis: Letter from the Qianlong Emperor to King George III In
1793, in the midst of the French revolution in Europe, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing state, who
reigned over the Chinese empire from 1735 95, responded to a request made by an envoy sent by King
George III of Britain. The envoy sent, known as the Macartney embassy and fronted by Lord
Macartney, was for the purpose of discussing the condition of relations between Great Britain and the
Qing empire and possible alterations to their state of trade. By the time the letter was written and the
embassy arrived in the Chinese capital city Peking ( known as Beijing), Qianlong ruled the largest and
wealthiest political state anywhere in the world, ruling over one third of the worlds population. These
notions of prosperity and grandeur as an Empire, led Qianlong to reject all proposals sent by the King
of Britain and his embassy. While under the rule of the Emperor Qianlong, China s foreign policy and
trade was beginning to unfold and open up to Europe. Qianlong, however, still maintained a strict and
regulated administration of all foreign trade and foreign ability to exist within China. It is true that
Europeans, in the service of the dynasty, have been permitted to live at Peking, but they are compelled
to adopt Chinese dress, they are strictly confined to their own precincts and are never permitted to
return home. All outside interactions with China could only be permitted if in the

Legs In America
Introduction
The most resourceful part of the body is the legs. Legs are located in the lower part of the body. Legs
help one to get started, move around, run, jump, and squat. Attached to the legs is the feet. Feet are
located at the bottom of the legs and attached to each foot are five toes. Given a careful examination
of the foot, there is a big toe, the big toe constitutes balance. In comparison, Just as a body, though
one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ (1 Corinthians 12: 12,
NIV). Similarly, America has many resourceful parts, forming the United States of America. Not
everyone is located in these United States, or privilege to become part of the land of opportunity; as

The Concept Of Heritage In Everyday Use By Alice Walker
Heritage: it is something that everyone possesses, whether they like it or not. It is not something that
people can choose, and it is not something people can change. Every family has their own unique
heritage, each celebrating it in a slightly different way. In brief, heritage is the celebration of one s
family and culture through family holidays, feasts, festivals, and traditions. Heritage is something that
people innately celebrate, it does not require much effort to celebrate it. However, some people make
it something not innate by using their heritage as an ostentatious display. The concept of celebrating
heritage innately or ostentatiously is explored through the characters Maggie, Mama, and Dee in the
short story Everyday Use by Alice Walker.

Enlightenment Age Of Enlightenment
From black magic to modern medicine, the public s perception of health has evolved over time. The
concept of health had experienced most of its development during the Age of Enlightenment, when the
virtues of reason and knowledge encapsulated society. Historian Ernst Cassirer associated the
advancement of this era with the advancements of the human mind. In doing so, he deemed reason a
positive force, one that pushes fallacies apart and pulls together the truth, and stated that a desire for
knowledge was no longer sinful. With this understanding of the Enlightenment at hand, one can easily
see how the sentiment of the era motivated the advancements of health and medicine. Using
knowledge as a motivation and reason as a tool, the philosophes brought health and medicine toward
modernity by questioning the status quo and introducing a new, empirically based regime. The era s
compulsion for science, experimentation and critique allowed for an abundance of advancements
within the realm of health and medicine.
The heart of Enlightenment thought rested in scientific inquiry. Reason was rooted in truth and truth
was rooted in science. Therefore, science became the foundation of natural law, reason and,
subsequently, all Enlightenment thought. The nature of science allowed researchers to arrive upon
consistent conclusions through their studies. More specifically, it allowed them to discover truths,
establish theories and develop a better understanding of the world around them. Using

Cause And Effects Of The Flopped Crusades
The Flopped Crusade The Crusaders were created by Pope Innocent III in 1889. The Crusaders fought
against Christian blood, just to have more money. The Crusaders were not even in it for religious
purposes. The Crusaders failed to support enough troops, and made a decision to either stick with the
Christians, their own religion, or to ditch their religion and all of its beliefs. In the end, Alexius III, the
person who was going to give the Crusaders the money, did not have any and the Crusaders ended up
not getting any money, but sacking Constantinople. The fourth Crusade was one of the most
unsuccessful events in history. The Crusaders made lots of wrong choices. According to catholic.com,
They did not have the money to pay the Venetians and Dandolo s offer proved problematic, as Zara
was controlled by King Emeric of Hungary, who had previously taken the Cross; therefore, his lands
were protected by the Church, and attacking a Crusader s land resulted in excommunication
(Weidenkopf). The Crusaders chose to be excommunicated over being Christian with a debt they had
to pay off and were acting like peasants. They would take any deal they saw and thought that the
dealers would not scam or rip them off. They were little pawns for the dealer to mess with. They were
not even given the money in the end. The Crusaders were just manipulated the Crusaders to do the
dirty work for Dandolo. Another wrong choice they made was disobeying the letters from the pope.

The Depletion Of The Natural Resources
In the past recent years, the depletion of the natural resources has become the area of major attention
throughout the world. These resources include the fossil fuels, minerals, natural vegetation, animals,
air, water, sunlight, soil, etc. The rate of its consumption is increasing day by day. This ultimately
leads to the ceasing of the resources to the earth s crust. The rising demand of these resources has led
to a limited supply of these resources which has serious impacts to environmental damages like air
pollution, water pollution, soil pollution and the depletion of the ozone layer. Thus, there is an urgent
need for mainly the industries to find an alternative approach reducing its unwanted effect on the
environment.
Manufacturing plays a very important role in an organization particularly to build competitive benefit
and improve performance. Manufacturers have been neglecting their social environmental
responsibility and have focused too much on their profits. The minimization of waste and pollution
produced can be achieved by product and process designing. Green manufacturing is an emerging
field as a solution taken by the industries in the recent years.
Green manufacturing can broadly be defined as the technology used in a manufacturing process that
finds a smarter way to use the limited resources, both in manufacturing the material and in the energy
used in the process. This is achieved by reducing the waste and pollution by re defining the present
production

section{Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Vs Electronic Health Record (EHR)}
Electronic Medical Record or EMR is basically the digitized version of the patient s medical record
which might include demographic information, scanned copies of the patients report and any other
information that might be collected by the healthcare provider about the patient. With EMR, it is
usually collected and maintained by a single entity. The single entity can use EMR for diagnosis of
treatment and the diagnosis reports cannot be shared with other entity because EMR are designed not
to be shared by outside entity. Figure ref{emr} displays the visual representation of EMR and EHR
within New Zealand. It shows how medical information is collected from various healthcare providers
and feeds to the national EHR. EMR are single records that can be accessed and modified by everyone
within the practice and can be referred to anything that can be found on a paper chart, such as patients
treatments, diagnosis etc.
Electronic Health Records is the aggregated medical information that is maintained by and shared
across multiple entities. EHR is a vital document that contains very sensitive information about the
patient such as name, address, date of

Supernovae
A supernova is a stellar explosion that occurs at the end of a star s lifetime. It is one of the largest and
most energetic explosions in space (S1). A supernova can briefly outshine an entire galaxy and radiate
more energy than our sun will in its lifetime. That is about same brightness of 10 million suns (S2).
Supernovae happen about every 50 years in a galaxy about the size of the Milky Way, which could be
about every second in our universe (S3). Supernovae can happen in two ways depending on the mass
of the star; Type I or Type II.
A Type I supernova happens when the star steals matter from a neighbor until a nuclear reaction
ignites. Type I supernovae are generally thought to come from white dwarf stars only in binary star
systems (S1). A white dwarf star is what stars like our sun become after they have used up their
nuclear fuel. As the gas of the neighboring star grows onto the white dwarf, the white dwarf is
progressively and constantly compressed, and after a while, sets off a nuclear reaction inside the star
that eventually leads to an energetic supernova outburst (S3). ... Show more content on

Like our sun, it will eventually run out of hydrogen and helium fuel at the star s core. However, it will
have enough mass and pressure to fuse carbon (S2). Next, over time, heavier elements build up at the
center and it becomes layered like an onion (S2). The elements will become lighter and move towards
the outside of the star. The core will heat up and become dense. The core will become extremely
heavy; so heavy that its gravitational force will not be able withstand it; causing it to explode. The
explosion spews out stellar material throughout space

between faith, destiny and the evilness of mankind. It also exposes the hypocrisy of those who are
considered the most righteous, and what can happen when a person s ideals are shattered. There is a
lot of symbolism found in this short story. The symbolism between his wife Faith and his spiritual
faith is very obvious and it does not take a great leap of imagination to connect the two. Brown has
only been married for three months which could signify that he has only recently thought of his place
in heaven as secure. (Connolly) Brown also believes that faith is his way to heaven; this is shown
when he bargains with himself that once he finishes this one evil errand he will follow her to heaven.
The relationship between Brown and the forest is one of a curious Human exploring the world of sin.
His errand is never specified in the text, but he essentially goes looking for the devil. He even states
that Faith kept me back a while. This shows some reluctance, but faith is still not enough to keep him
from his task. Often in fiction the forest is regarded as a dark evil place full of terror and mystery. It
makes sense that Brown would go to such a place for his mysterious walk

How Did The Silk Road Influence Ancient China
The Silk Road s Influence on China
The Silk Road, an ancient trade route, contributed profoundly to the cultural exchange between
Western Asia, Europe, and China. As people traversed with each other, they conveyed their beliefs,
ideas, and inventions. Civilizations among Rome, India, Persia, and China traded their knowledge
from the second century BC to the fifteenth century AD. Buddhism, Islam, and Nestorianism were
cultural treasures that were bestowed upon Ancient China via the Silk Road. The exchange of various
arts along the Silk Road used relationships from distinct regions to exemplify a significant amount of
cultural diffusion throughout China. The transportation of innovations allowed China to further

Horses, a predominant part of China s military, crucial to their military defense, and played a
significant role in imperial desires to expand and maintain territory. Chinese rulers obtained superior
breeds of horses from Central Asia. Zhang Qian, a traveler of the Han Dynasty, observed horses in the
Fergana Valley that were much larger than those in China. Central Asia also exported camels, which
were very valued in Ancient China. The Noria, also known as the irrigation wheel, was invented in
Roman Syria and reached the Yellow River of China in the second century AD via the Silk Road. It
allowed a substantial amount of water to be lifted to nearby fields, to irrigate crops without the help of
animals or humans. The irrigation wheel evolved into a more intricate machine, allowing more
complex tasks in industry to be done. The Chinse had no glassware until the fifth century AD, and it
was imported from Egypt and Arab cities of the Middle East and made its way to China on the Silk
Road. Glass was very expensive and high quality, so it was considered a luxury good. The methods of
wool, carpet manufacture and weaving had a huge impression on the Chinese who had no knowledge
of this process. Various woolen goods such as blankets, curtains, carpets, and rugs came to China from
Central Asia and the East Mediterranean due to trade on the Silk

Social Differences Of The Korean War And Vietnam War
Although many believe the world would be a better place if everyone were to get along and agree on
social differences, but in the end these differences are the root cause of many wars. These two major
wars, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, not only had serious impact within the country, but also
give a prime example of how similar and different between the two. Both wars were commenced
similarly from its conflict with expansion of a communist government and the involvement of the

During the period of both wars, the U.S. committed to preventing further growth of communism.
During the Korean War, the South gained backing and assistance of the U.S., reasoning that the
government of North Korea were wanting to pursue the expansion of their communism towards the
south of Korea. With the increasing growth of American troops, air and naval forces, and strategic
combat, the intervention of the U.S. slowed the North Koreans from advancing south. American
involvement in Vietnam was an implementation of the Containment Policy, which was a the obligation
of U.S. foreign approach makers to terminate the expansion of communism (Vietnam War). With the
participation of the U.S., the South was provided financial assistance and military hardware. This
permitted North Vietnamese troops to retain their militia in the south.
A difference between the wars were that the United Nations took a vital part in the Korean War. This
made the Korean War in which an international organization played a major role. After the North
Korean Invasion, the United Nations adjured member countries to come to the assistance of South
Korea. Sixteen countries responded by sending troops, while forty one countries sent food, equipment,
and other supplies (Korean War). With the assistance of the U.N., South Korea was provided with core
military strategic direction, fighting units, weapons, tanks, and medical assistance for the anti

Rule THAT HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE ROLE OF FAILURE IN BUSINESS Maybe our very

Joel Chapter 2
Personal Essay Sometimes as a Christian it can be easy to not recognize the Old Testament, but reality
is that Jesus is all throughout the Old Testament and it is still relevant. There is so much that we can
learn in the Old Testament if we really take our time and go in depth to what it says. I wanted to look
in the passage Joel chapter two verses twenty eight through thirty two specifically and a few of the
verses around it. I also wanted to look into how it translated and became relevant in the New
Testament. This passage is titled The Lord s Promise of His Spirit , and it is written by the Prophet
Joel. The prophet Joel was a prophet in Judah when there was a split in the kingdom of Israel. Joel is a
very small book in comparison to other books, but it is very eventful in its three chapters. The fist two
chapters are basically about judgment on Judah while the end of chapter two and chapter three are
about God s promises and the times that were coming. Before discussing some commentaries, I will
do a quick overview of the passage and see what it says. It starts off in verse twenty eight and says
that God will pour out His spirit. From there the scripture basically says that will be poured out on
everybody, even the servants. It says that the result of God pouring out His spirit is that old men ...

good job at getting across the main point of the scripture. One thing that I like about this word is that
when it translated into pour out it makes me think of the abundance of God for Him to just completely
pour out His spirit so that there is enough for everyone. When God gives gifts He doesn t just give

Compare And Contrast A Good Man Is Hard To Find And Arnold...
In comparing and contrasting Flannery O Connor s A Good Man is Hard to Find and Joyce Carol
Oates s Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been the stories contain very different plots, but they
both have similarities between the characters Arnold Friend and Misfit. They appear to be mentally
unstable and highly selfish by only caring about their needs. For example, Where Are You Going,
Where Have You Been Arnold Friend shows his mentality and selfishness by harming the main
character Connie by being highly persistent. In A Good Man is Hard to Find the Misfit showed his
mentality and selfishness by killing the grandmother when she was trying to bring out faith and his
good side when the situation escalated when the car crashed. Regardless of these two completely
different stories, there are several similarities between the characters Arnold Friend and Misfit in their
personalities. In the story Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been Connie, the main character, is
already struggling with many things in life and sneaks her way to date guys. There was also
conflicting between her and her mother due to her mother favoring her sister, June and describing her
as someone who is a good example of what she wants Connie to be. Her father is never at home due to
work and when he is home, the girls do not relate to him. Arnold Friend is described as a dangerous
figure with his pale complexion and his slick black hair looking like trouble by not presenting himself
in a pleasing way to Connie, by not walking properly. This was an indication on how he was not in the
right state of mind and how Arnold shouldn t be near Connie. There was one scene in the story where
Arnold Friend shows up, uninvited, notifying Connie that he is not a friend, but has come to take her
away from her home to possibly kidnap her. Connie felt a wave of dizziness, rise in her at this sight
and she stared at him as if waiting for something to change the shock of the moment, make it alright

Selling our water will be beneficial to Canadians because it will create new jobs and help out the
economy, we could have Canada trade its water for other natural resources instead of just selling it.
With Canada having 20% of the world s fresh water and 9% of the world s renewable fresh water
means that we will have enough to sell and trade with other countries and to keep for our own.
Canadians waste a lot of water mainly by flushing the toilet takes up 30% of the water, bathing 35%,
20% drinking and 10% cooking. Canadians could easily cut down on water by enforcing laws to
making water more expensive or even cutting down the time they use the water. Around the world 1.4
Billion people are lacking clean drinking water with Canada s population being just around 35 million.
Each year seven million from all around the world die year from diseases linked to unsanitary water
and the problem is getting worse each year.
Other countries that are in need of water will come after Canada first because Canadians have a lot of
water with low population making it an easy target for them to attack for water.
If Canadians sold water to other countries it would prevent future wars from happening and people
dying from diseases.

9 June 2015 Shining the Spotlight on Artificial Sweeteners It has been said many times before, sugar

claims? Going to the grocery store and always seeing a product that is advertised as low sugar or sugar

or not sugar free options are a healthier alternative to their sugar counterparts. Arguments for both
sides of the issue are readily available via any popular diet magazine or public talk shows discussing

then arises what are the experts actually saying regarding this issue? Do artificial sweeteners such as

feelings regarding this issue, artificial sweeteners, despite having low to zero calories, do more harm

Music And Its Impact On Music
Since the early days of human existence, sweet sounds of music have brought joy to the human race.
However, throughout time, music seems to have taken a bit of a detour as progress is concerned.
Music gradually became more complex and advanced as the centuries progressed. On the other hand,
recently, music seems to have deviated from its steady ascension toward the next, more advanced
stage. Has there been a recession in the complexity and overall magic of music? Personally, I believe
that there is a lot of truth to this concept of relapse . Over the course of musical expression, inventions
of different instruments and music theory concepts were created and used to benefit the science and
progression of music through time. Throughout each period of music that we studied, the music
changed based on the culture and the technology that was prevalent within its respective time period.
Music found in the baroque period, for instance, is very complex and involves the use of several
different musical voices. When we look at a lot of the mainstream music of modern day, it is very easy
to realize that we have definitely taken a step backwards. Nowadays, the popular musical artworks
that are being released lack complexity or any kind of variation at all. Modern pop music has really hit
a stand still. One of the most characteristic aspects of a modern pop song is the repetition that is used
throughout most songs. Honestly, anyone who has a decent ear for music

would consider to be similar to themselves, and I would like to see residents forming new
relationships and learning more about people who are different whether that be differences in
demographic characteristics or in opinions/personalities. A third goal of mine is to form relationships
with each of my residents, more than just surface level information. I want my residents to feel
comfortable approaching me for any reason, and having a familiarity with them on a deeper level will
help in those tougher circumstances, A relationship developed between the good RA and his or her
residents becomes the foundation from which to resolve problems that occur during the year (Vetter,

As an intervener, I represent an outside agency who does not have direct and substantial interest in the

Reflective Paper On Moral Responsibility
Reflective Paper Regarding Moral Responsibility of Rehabilitating Criminals
Dalia M Al Rubaye
Parkdale High School
Abstract
This paper is generally about the correlation between moral responsibility and rehabilitation. Moral
responsibility was examined in the context of criminals and ordinary people. What brings about a
crime, and what impels an individuals to commit an action that he realizes is wrong. Also, the concept
of rehabilitation and the way in which it is applied were examined to deliver a better understanding of
issues regarding criminals. Examining these concepts was the key used to depict the moral
responsibility, that s innate in people, and how it should be considered in rehabilitating criminals.
Key words: Morality, self respect, conscience, rehabilitation
Moral Responsibility of Rehabilitating Criminals I am a person with very little knowledge regarding
criminology. Luckily, I ve acquired some knowledge from being a girl who loves to read about
philosophy. Linking between the morals I ve learned as a religious person and the theories about the
innate format of a human being presented by philosophers, I was able to initiate my thinking process
and organize my ideas. My ultimate goal was to get to the point where I m able to decide whether the
society and I are morally responsible of rehabilitating criminals or not. Based on my trivial
knowledge, I think that we, as individuals habitating the same community, are morally responsible

media, films, shows, video games and even cartoons. A young child can watch gory films as well as
play violent video games without any adult supervision easily with no problem if he or she wanted to.
Trying to avoid this scenario from happening would not only be fatuous but also preposterous.
Advanced technology has facilitated the access to any sort of violent content for any individual, with
little to no boundaries. Violence manifested in the media has caused a negative chain of effects in our
society by promoting violence to children, changing our morality and encouraging violence in real
life.
With this object in mind, violence in the media is negatively influencing our society by constantly
promoting vicious behavior to children in ample forms, with no regulations what so ever. Violence has
become one of the most popular and most favorite form of entertainment for young people from these
past generations. Currently, video games like Mortal Kombat and Grand Theft Auto are some of the
popular gruesome video games among today s youth. I have two younger siblings, who both happen to
enjoy playing these two video games. I ll sporadically play Mortal Kombat with my brother,

Review Of Margaret Atwood s Bluebeard s Egg
Revision of Bluebeard : An analysis of Margaret Atwood s Bluebeard s Egg
Margaret Atwood s short story, Bluebeard s Egg is a contemporary retelling of the original story
Bluebeard that is written by Charles Perrault. Atwood s revision differs from the traditional tale of
Bluebeard in that it takes place in a modern day setting instead of a fantastical environment, it lacks
magical elements and it is a narrative that is told through the third person point of view instead of
omniscient. Bluebeard s Egg explores the themes of, infidelity, ingenuity, concealment, and curiosity
by shifting the fairy tale into a modern, middle classed environment so her readers can find it more
relatable.
Bluebeard s Egg is told in a third person point of view in order to expose Sally s mental movements
which she has concealed through images of fairy tales and happily ever afters. She wants to replace
her normal, non romantic life with her husband Ed to a fantastical one where she is the princess
(Atwood 772). Shuli Barzilai notes the difference in the narrative perspectives between the two
literary texts: Instead of the omniscience of most fairy tale narrators, Atwood uses restricted internal
focalization (192). The comment about internal focalization indicates that Sally is the main focus of
the story. Since Ed never articulates his point of view Sally s statement of Ed being stupid is biased.
On the other hand, in Bluebeard the story is told through an omniscient point of

An Analysis Of Porter s Five Forces In The Porter
The five forces used to analyze the level of competition formulated by Porter are the threat of new
entrants, the bargaining power of suppliers, the bargaining power of buyers, the threat of substitute
products or services and rivalry among existing competitors (M. E. Porter, 2008). Two additional
forces, proposed by Boehlje Olson (2010), provide an external dynamic to Porter s original five
forces, namely technology and other drivers of change. In order to use the Porter five forces as an
adequate backbone for describing the competition in our desired sector, we need thorough knowledge
of the factors comprising these forces. We begin by providing an overview of general important
factors used in recent literature. Threat of new entrants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Buyers will try to lower the price and increase the quality of products through bargaining and
negotiating. According to Porter (2008) negotiating leverage will increase if there are relatively few
buyers or purchases have a large volume compared to single supplier output, if suppliers have
undifferentiated products, the switching costs are low and if backwards integration is feasible. The
agribusiness chain has unique features such as perishability, seasonality, rapidly changing supply and
demand, use of contracts and sometimes limited price information, which will shape the supplier
buyer interactions (Cook, 2011; Olson Boehlje, 2010). Similar to the bargaining power of suppliers,
producers are placed in the middle of the chain. Therefore they will act as buyers to the input sector
while being sellers to the retail sector. This results in a unique and often vulnerable position in the
value chain. This relationship will also be thoroughly discussed in following paragraphs when we
analyze the price transmission and

Population Overpopulation
The Earth is currently 4.54 billion years old, holding about 332,500,000 cubic miles of water, an
estimate of 8.7 billion mammals, and close to 7 billion humans. The modern humans, evolved from
archaic humans, have been roaming the Earth for about 17,000 years. Over the last fifty years, human
population grew faster than it has ever before. In the 1960s, the world population was at about 3
billion people, increasing to an estimate of 6 billion people by 1999. The expected growth of world
population from 6 billion people in 1999 is about 9 billion people by 2044, causing the world to
become overpopulated. The word population causes many different reactions and thoughts. For
example, it stimulates anger because of irresponsible procreation, insufficient funding for birth control
methods, and religion for being against contraception and abortion. The reason that anger is one of the
main reactions is that many are aware of how population growth can damage the Earth and affect the
future. To reduce the population growth rates, there should be a worldwide, two child policy for every
couple during the process of establishing basic education because research has shown the positive
effects of China s one child policy, how Earth s resources are decreasing, and how overpopulation has
negatively affected the environment. By establishing a two child policy for every couple, there could
be many positive results, such as the results that came from China s one child policy. According

Descriptive Essay On A Desert At City
My eyes swung open as the car shook. I glanced out the window and noticed that we were in a desert
at night. It seemed as if our family was in the middle of nowhere. A brief moment later, I noticed a
group of lights emerge on the horizon. I waited impatiently as we approached it. My excitement rose
as it got closer and closer to us. I then saw one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen. It was a
crowded area with casinos, shopping malls, and hotels everywhere. Each individual building lit up the
night sky with its vibrant colors. They each attracted the visitors with its unique architecture and
design. The sidewalks were jammed with visitors from across the nation. We were at the Las Vegas
Strip.
We circled the parking lot a few times waiting for a place to park. We found a narrow parking spot and
I got out of the car. I stretched my legs and felt my stomach growl. I did not eat for the past eight
hours and I looked forward to eating at a nice restaurant. My parents got out of the car and opened the
trunk. My mom pulled out a thick blue jacket and told me to wear it.
¨Here! Wear this jacket. It´s gonna get cold.¨
¨I ll be fine,¨ I said.
She tossed the jacket back into the trunk. We then started the three and a half mile journey across the
Las Vegas Strip. We passed numerous casinos and were overwhelmed by the crowd and smell of
cigarettes. We also walked in busy shopping malls and explored the merchandise. We saw unique
jewelry, art, and souvenirs that resembled

Civil War Somalia
The Somali Civil War started in 1991 and goes on to the present day. Although it s not in every part of
somalia it s in the most popular region. Due the fact that the war started, between 1998 and 2009 two
regions formed called Puntland and Somaliland and the remaining motherland Somalia. I visited the
capital of Somaliland Hargeisa. There I saw the results of the war, whole streets were destroyed,
people were displaced, roads were dusty, countless housed destroyed and many houses made from
clothes and paper bags stitched together covered the streets. I saw children who were surviving by
themselves no family or friends only themselves. They would either survive on begging or looking in
for garbage left on the streets. The sights that

Marketing Case Three E Business at Evo
E Business is a growing segment of both the wholesale and retail markets. The ease of
communication, comparison and the simplicity of the overall shopping experience have led to a boom
in online businesses as the internet becomes an increasingly integrated component of our lives.
Evogear.com is one of the corporations to ride the wave of e business and consumers shift towards

Unlike conventional stores, Evogear and other e businesses face more difficulty in promoting their
businesses. For Evo, they depend on word of mouth and affiliate websites. Their affiliate websites
typically are of similar subject matter skateboarding, wakeboarding, skiing, snowboarding, etc., and
include links or ads directing customers back to Evo s website. In return, Evo provides the affiliate site
with a thank you of 12% of each completed sale at evogear.com originating from the affiliate site. E
business has been a growing segment of the retail and wholesale markets since the proliferation of the
internet in households began in the early 1990 s. E business has become an important business model
for both new businesses as well as traditional brick and mortar stores to understand in order to reach a
growing segment of the population that comparison shops online. Evogear is an excellent illustration
of the e business model and will generate sales for the company for years to

  • 2. Introduction . In The Early 2020’S An Oral Medication Was Introduction In the early 2020 s an oral medication was developed to treat HIV/AIDS, eventually this medication came to be the new cure for the infection. In the following years, HIV was no longer an issue or a cause for concern, as health professionals declared an HIV/AIDS free world. Nine years later, in 2031 a new strain of HIV emerged. This new strain has become resistant to the original oral medication that cured HIV/AIDS years before. In addition, the virus has mutated to a point in which that it is spreading at twice the pace as the original strain. The virus is more aggressive and no course of previous treatment has proved effective in mitigating the effects. Thus, individuals have come under greater risk of being infected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Interest This prevention study will work towards discovering if social changes in the lives of drug users and sex workers will act as a form of prevention in being infected with HIV. Through social programming such as, HIV education courses, economic opportunities through small businesses, and safe injection sites this study will look towards a correlation between these attributes and a decline in high risk behaviors thus preventing the risk of HIV infection. The concept of risk environment plays a role in the increase in risk of infection as it is regarded as the space, whether social or physical, in which a variety of factors exogenous to the individual interact to increase vulnerability to HIV (Roy et. Al, 2011). Many studies of vulnerable individuals such as injection drug users, sex workers, and the homeless have shown that these factors have a significant influence on their health since they shape daily risk taking (Roy et. Al, 2011). Thus, due to said situations reports of individuals having traded sex for money, drugs, or other commodities for survival, increases HIV incidence of this high risk behavior (Roy et Al, 2011). Therefore this study will work towards mitigating the situations that put individuals as risk of HIV infection, as a form of prevention. • 3. Medical Marijuana Dependence Research Another myth surrounding the use of the plant is on dependence. Marijuana invokes an image of people getting high and having problems abstaining from the substance. This is untrue. Solomon (1966) clearly states that marihuana users do not come from the criminal class. Aggressiveness is not commonly seen among these users. Dependence or tolerance is characterized by prominent withdrawal symptoms. This is the true hallmark or defining characteristic of drug addiction. In the recent years, there is very little evidence to support the claim that marijuana caries a true risk of addiction. Studies, taken by Earleywine (2005), stated existing data do not prove that marijuana use correlates with an increase in teen marijuana dependence. Solomon adds ... To counter this, the author of the essay stated earlier that there are different ways to administer marijuana. Inhalation of the fumes is not the only method. Cannabis can be taken intravenously, orally, and topically. These methods remove the risk of the abovementioned health problems. Another statement is that although natural, the plant still contains toxic chemicals and these produce dangerous side effects. To start with, the opposition claims that THC is the chemical responsible for the harmful effects in one s body. Marinol, which is what the opposition prescribes, also contains ... • 4. The Pains Of Sleep By Robert Southey Essay The couplets encompass the odd tension of The Pains of Sleep : the ending is both over long, extending the natural length of the stanza by an additional two lines, and abrupt, answering the universal despair of wherefore fall on me? with an admittedly lacklustre response. The insistent repetition such , wherefore , love furthers the resounding resolution of the poem. Coleridge s draft of the poem in a letter to Robert Southey suggests that there is potential for movement beyond the declaration of the last line, for he affixes c c c c c onto the end of the line, and whilst a large portion of the draft is altered for its publication in 1816, this line remains untouched. Perhaps the clue is in one of the lines from The Pains of Sleep which is altered for its 1816 publication but exists in the draft version sent to Southey as well: The self created Hell within. (Letter to Robert Southey, September 12 1803.) The unfathomable Hell within. ( The Pains of Sleep , line 46.) The poem can be seen as a verbal translation of the self created Hell within : whilst the poem is structurally contained, the unfathomable interior world it describes, and the claustrophobic blending of reality and unreality, all contribute to it seeming incomplete upon interrogation. Coleridge rejects the universal question in favour of a personal answer because the poem cannot adequately make sense of the distorted images it contains. Unlike ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many stereotypes associated with Tri Delta, and that is the most irritating thing about being in a sorority. Anyone from my high school would insist that I am not a sorority girl if someone were to ask them. When I started my fall semester, I was not expecting to rush because once again again, I am not the sorority type . Greek life at Boise State is unlike any other campus. Some may think that being in a sorority is all about social standing, parties, and being better than the people around you. In reality, it is the exact opposite. For the rest of this paper, I am going to prove to you why Tri Delta is a discourse community. In order to get information for my paper, I interviewed someone with a position of authority within Tri Delta. Her name is Danielle, and she is the new member educator. The first thing I learned about Tri Delta is that it is more than just letters on a shirt, songs and chants, a gold pin, socials, rituals, an obligation, or a way of life. Being in a sorority is about learning about people and being able to give without expecting a return. Tri Delta has allowed me to find lifelong friends and find confidence in myself as well as in my sisters, Danielle explained. After hearing her explanation, I couldn t agree more. Danielle also told me that the close relationships are her favorite part. My favorite part about being in Tri Delta is the sisterhood. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The second individual factor I used was I would practice understanding how to hear with my Cochlear Implant, every day, for about a couple years, until the beeping noise would stop. The reason for this is because, whenever a deaf person first gets their cochlear implant, all noises will be beeping. The beeping will eventually stop whenever the cochlea will get used to hearing with a Cochlear Implant, rather than a hearing aid. I would turn off my hearing aid every day, and practice listening to people and certain different sounds. When I started doing this, amazing things happened. I developed into being able to hear with my Cochlear implant so well, I could hear birds chirping and ocean waves crashing for the first time. Since the Cochlear Implant turned on, I could hear my father s laugh for the first time, and it took weeks to get used to it and fully develop on knowing his voice. Multinational coffee companies now dominate the industry worth over $80 billion, making coffee the most valuable trading commodity in the world after oil. While we continue to pay for our lattes and cappuccinos, the price paid to coffee farmers remains so low that many have been forced to abandon their coffee fields. Letter From The Qianlong Emperor King George IIi History Assignment 2 Document Analysis: Letter from the Qianlong Emperor to King George III In 1793, in the midst of the French revolution in Europe, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing state, who reigned over the Chinese empire from 1735 95, responded to a request made by an envoy sent by King George III of Britain. The envoy sent, known as the Macartney embassy and fronted by Lord Macartney, was for the purpose of discussing the condition of relations between Great Britain and the Qing empire and possible alterations to their state of trade. By the time the letter was written and the embassy arrived in the Chinese capital city Peking ( known as Beijing), Qianlong ruled the largest and wealthiest political state anywhere in the world, ruling over one third of the worlds population. These notions of prosperity and grandeur as an Empire, led Qianlong to reject all proposals sent by the King of Britain and his embassy. While under the rule of the Emperor Qianlong, China s foreign policy and trade was beginning to unfold and open up to Europe. Qianlong, however, still maintained a strict and regulated administration of all foreign trade and foreign ability to exist within China. It is true that Europeans, in the service of the dynasty, have been permitted to live at Peking, but they are compelled to adopt Chinese dress, they are strictly confined to their own precincts and are never permitted to return home. • 13. Enlightenment Age Of Enlightenment From black magic to modern medicine, the public s perception of health has evolved over time. The concept of health had experienced most of its development during the Age of Enlightenment, when the virtues of reason and knowledge encapsulated society. Historian Ernst Cassirer associated the advancement of this era with the advancements of the human mind. In doing so, he deemed reason a positive force, one that pushes fallacies apart and pulls together the truth, and stated that a desire for knowledge was no longer sinful. With this understanding of the Enlightenment at hand, one can easily see how the sentiment of the era motivated the advancements of health and medicine. Using knowledge as a motivation and reason as a tool, the philosophes brought health and medicine toward modernity by questioning the status quo and introducing a new, empirically based regime. The era s compulsion for science, experimentation and critique allowed for an abundance of advancements within the realm of health and medicine. The heart of Enlightenment thought rested in scientific inquiry. Reason was rooted in truth and truth was rooted in science. Therefore, science became the foundation of natural law, reason and, subsequently, all Enlightenment thought. The nature of science allowed researchers to arrive upon consistent conclusions through their studies. More specifically, it allowed them to discover truths, establish theories and develop a better understanding of the world around them. Using ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These resources include the fossil fuels, minerals, natural vegetation, animals, air, water, sunlight, soil, etc. The rate of its consumption is increasing day by day. This ultimately leads to the ceasing of the resources to the earth s crust. The rising demand of these resources has led to a limited supply of these resources which has serious impacts to environmental damages like air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution and the depletion of the ozone layer. Thus, there is an urgent need for mainly the industries to find an alternative approach reducing its unwanted effect on the environment. It is one of the largest and most energetic explosions in space (S1). A supernova can briefly outshine an entire galaxy and radiate more energy than our sun will in its lifetime. That is about same brightness of 10 million suns (S2). Supernovae happen about every 50 years in a galaxy about the size of the Milky Way, which could be about every second in our universe (S3). Supernovae can happen in two ways depending on the mass of the star; Type I or Type II. A Type I supernova happens when the star steals matter from a neighbor until a nuclear reaction ignites. Type I supernovae are generally thought to come from white dwarf stars only in binary star systems (S1). A white dwarf star is what stars like our sun become after they have used up their nuclear fuel. As the gas of the neighboring star grows onto the white dwarf, the white dwarf is progressively and constantly compressed, and after a while, sets off a nuclear reaction inside the star that eventually leads to an energetic supernova outburst (S3). ... • 21. The Danger Of Faith By Nathanial Hawthorne The Danger of Faith Many remember Young Goodman Brown as the classic tale of a young idealistic Puritan and his brush with the devil. This classic allegory by Nathanial Hawthorne, led him to be considered the founder of the modern short story. (Kellan) This story explores the relationship between faith, destiny and the evilness of mankind. It also exposes the hypocrisy of those who are considered the most righteous, and what can happen when a person s ideals are shattered. There is a lot of symbolism found in this short story. The symbolism between his wife Faith and his spiritual faith is very obvious and it does not take a great leap of imagination to connect the two. Brown has only been married for three months which could signify that he has only recently thought of his place in heaven as secure. (Connolly) Brown also believes that faith is his way to heaven; this is shown when he bargains with himself that once he finishes this one evil errand he will follow her to heaven. The relationship between Brown and the forest is one of a curious Human exploring the world of sin. His errand is never specified in the text, but he essentially goes looking for the devil. He even states that Faith kept me back a while. This shows some reluctance, but faith is still not enough to keep him from his task. I wanted to look in the passage Joel chapter two verses twenty eight through thirty two specifically and a few of the verses around it. I also wanted to look into how it translated and became relevant in the New Testament. This passage is titled The Lord s Promise of His Spirit , and it is written by the Prophet Joel. The prophet Joel was a prophet in Judah when there was a split in the kingdom of Israel. Joel is a very small book in comparison to other books, but it is very eventful in its three chapters. The fist two chapters are basically about judgment on Judah while the end of chapter two and chapter three are about God s promises and the times that were coming. Before discussing some commentaries, I will do a quick overview of the passage and see what it says. It starts off in verse twenty eight and says that God will pour out His spirit. In comparing and contrasting Flannery O Connor s A Good Man is Hard to Find and Joyce Carol Oates s Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been the stories contain very different plots, but they both have similarities between the characters Arnold Friend and Misfit. They appear to be mentally unstable and highly selfish by only caring about their needs. For example, Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been Arnold Friend shows his mentality and selfishness by harming the main character Connie by being highly persistent. In A Good Man is Hard to Find the Misfit showed his mentality and selfishness by killing the grandmother when she was trying to bring out faith and his good side when the situation escalated when the car crashed. Regardless of these two completely different stories, there are several similarities between the characters Arnold Friend and Misfit in their personalities. In the story Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been Connie, the main character, is already struggling with many things in life and sneaks her way to date guys. There was also conflicting between her and her mother due to her mother favoring her sister, June and describing her as someone who is a good example of what she wants Connie to be. Her father is never at home due to work and when he is home, the girls do not relate to him. Arnold Friend is described as a dangerous figure with his pale complexion and his slick black hair looking like trouble by not presenting himself in a pleasing way to Connie, by not walking properly. This was an indication on how he was not in the right state of mind and how Arnold shouldn t be near Connie. There was one scene in the story where Arnold Friend shows up, uninvited, notifying Connie that he is not a friend, but has come to take her away from her home to possibly kidnap her. Connie felt a wave of dizziness, rise in her at this sight and she stared at him as if waiting for something to change the shock of the moment, make it alright again . • 42. Review Of Margaret Atwood s Bluebeard s Egg Revision of Bluebeard : An analysis of Margaret Atwood s Bluebeard s Egg Margaret Atwood s short story, Bluebeard s Egg is a contemporary retelling of the original story Bluebeard that is written by Charles Perrault. Atwood s revision differs from the traditional tale of Bluebeard in that it takes place in a modern day setting instead of a fantastical environment, it lacks magical elements and it is a narrative that is told through the third person point of view instead of omniscient. Bluebeard s Egg explores the themes of, infidelity, ingenuity, concealment, and curiosity by shifting the fairy tale into a modern, middle classed environment so her readers can find it more relatable. Bluebeard s Egg is told in a third person point of view in order to expose Sally s mental movements which she has concealed through images of fairy tales and happily ever afters. She wants to replace her normal, non romantic life with her husband Ed to a fantastical one where she is the princess (Atwood 772). Shuli Barzilai notes the difference in the narrative perspectives between the two literary texts: Instead of the omniscience of most fairy tale narrators, Atwood uses restricted internal focalization (192). The comment about internal focalization indicates that Sally is the main focus of the story. Since Ed never articulates his point of view Sally s statement of Ed being stupid is biased. On the other hand, in Bluebeard the story is told through an omniscient point of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. An Analysis Of Porter s Five Forces In The Porter The five forces used to analyze the level of competition formulated by Porter are the threat of new entrants, the bargaining power of suppliers, the bargaining power of buyers, the threat of substitute products or services and rivalry among existing competitors (M. E. Porter, 2008). Two additional forces, proposed by Boehlje Olson (2010), provide an external dynamic to Porter s original five forces, namely technology and other drivers of change. In order to use the Porter five forces as an adequate backbone for describing the competition in our desired sector, we need thorough knowledge of the factors comprising these forces. We begin by providing an overview of general important factors used in recent literature. Threat of new entrants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Buyers will try to lower the price and increase the quality of products through bargaining and negotiating. According to Porter (2008) negotiating leverage will increase if there are relatively few buyers or purchases have a large volume compared to single supplier output, if suppliers have undifferentiated products, the switching costs are low and if backwards integration is feasible. The agribusiness chain has unique features such as perishability, seasonality, rapidly changing supply and demand, use of contracts and sometimes limited price information, which will shape the supplier buyer interactions (Cook, 2011; Olson Boehlje, 2010). Similar to the bargaining power of suppliers, producers are placed in the middle of the chain. Therefore they will act as buyers to the input sector while being sellers to the retail sector. This results in a unique and often vulnerable position in the value chain. This relationship will also be thoroughly discussed in following paragraphs when we analyze the price transmission and ... • 45. Population Overpopulation The Earth is currently 4.54 billion years old, holding about 332,500,000 cubic miles of water, an estimate of 8.7 billion mammals, and close to 7 billion humans. The modern humans, evolved from archaic humans, have been roaming the Earth for about 17,000 years. Over the last fifty years, human population grew faster than it has ever before. In the 1960s, the world population was at about 3 billion people, increasing to an estimate of 6 billion people by 1999. The expected growth of world population from 6 billion people in 1999 is about 9 billion people by 2044, causing the world to become overpopulated. The word population causes many different reactions and thoughts. For example, it stimulates anger because of irresponsible procreation, insufficient funding for birth control methods, and religion for being against contraception and abortion. The reason that anger is one of the main reactions is that many are aware of how population growth can damage the Earth and affect the future. To reduce the population growth rates, there should be a worldwide, two child policy for every couple during the process of establishing basic education because research has shown the positive effects of China s one child policy, how Earth s resources are decreasing, and how overpopulation has negatively affected the environment. By establishing a two child policy for every couple, there could be many positive results, such as the results that came from China s one child policy. According ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Descriptive Essay On A Desert At City My eyes swung open as the car shook. I glanced out the window and noticed that we were in a desert at night. It seemed as if our family was in the middle of nowhere. A brief moment later, I noticed a group of lights emerge on the horizon. I waited impatiently as we approached it. My excitement rose as it got closer and closer to us. I then saw one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen. It was a crowded area with casinos, shopping malls, and hotels everywhere. Each individual building lit up the night sky with its vibrant colors. They each attracted the visitors with its unique architecture and design. The sidewalks were jammed with visitors from across the nation. We were at the Las Vegas Strip. We circled the parking lot a few times waiting for a place to park. We found a narrow parking spot and I got out of the car. I stretched my legs and felt my stomach growl. I did not eat for the past eight hours and I looked forward to eating at a nice restaurant. My parents got out of the car and opened the trunk. My mom pulled out a thick blue jacket and told me to wear it. ¨Here! Wear this jacket. It´s gonna get cold.¨ ¨I ll be fine,¨ I said. She tossed the jacket back into the trunk. We then started the three and a half mile journey across the Las Vegas Strip. We passed numerous casinos and were overwhelmed by the crowd and smell of cigarettes. We also walked in busy shopping malls and explored the merchandise. We saw unique jewelry, art, and souvenirs that resembled ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
