The researchers at the National University of La Plata integrated their Moodle learning management system with their DSpace digital repository to allow assignments submitted through Moodle to be automatically deposited into the repository. They implemented a module that retrieves assignment files and metadata from Moodle and generates a METS package to send to the DSpace repository using the SWORD protocol. This allows assignments to be seamlessly published to the repository without additional manual work. The integration reduces duplication of resources across systems and provides a unified way to access course content and student work.

Moodle 2.0 includes improvements to course organization, community features, and usability. Course organization tools allow specifying prerequisites between activities and tracking course completion. Community features make it easier to find courses and enrollable sites. The interface receives updated themes and navigation and blocks can now be docked. Activity modules like Wiki and Quizzes see improvements. File handling is separated into repository, file, and portfolio APIs. Other upgrades include faster backups, blog commenting, centralized commenting, RSS feeds, tagging, and refactored messaging.
The document introduces Moodle, an open-source learning management system (LMS). It describes Moodle's capabilities for online academic activities including quizzes, assignments, forums and file sharing. Specific features covered include personalized dashboards, interactive content integration, video conferencing plugins, and offline quiz functionality. The document also demonstrates how to enroll students in courses, use different activities like assignments and quizzes, and upload files in Moodle. It highlights additional utilities like announcements, calendars and mobile apps to access course content offline.
The presentation provided Moodle administrators with tips on customizing the front page and user profiles, managing courses and users efficiently, utilizing reports, and converting courses from Blackboard to Moodle. Tips included changing front page settings, adding custom fields, batch creating users from files, moving large course backups, using meta-courses, and the cut and paste or tool-based methods for course conversions. More resources were also shared for Moodle support.
Moodle is a free and open-source learning management system developed by Martin Dougiamas that allows educators to create online courses with dynamic web content. It provides tools for collaboration and communication between instructors and students, including forums, wikis, assignments, quizzes, databases, and chat features. Moodle can be customized and extended through plugins and is accessible across devices through its mobile app.
The document discusses Martin Dougiamas' vision for the future of Moodle. It covers several areas:
1. Improving usage of existing Moodle features through better tools and usability. Only 20% of features are currently used.
2. Focusing on core development areas like performance, feedback, and usability in upcoming releases like Moodle 2.5 and 2.6.
3. Growing the Moodle community through improved documentation, conferences, and community sites like moodle.org.
The overall goal is for Moodle to become a more open, flexible and capable platform that supports teaching, learning and research globally.
This webinar was presented to BC Campus members. In the presentation we demonstrated how to make your Moodle installation mobile by using Moodle's mobile theme that comes with Moodle 2.2. We reviewed the different Moodle modules and what to expect of them in a mobile environment. We also touched on the features of Moodle Mobile Apps.
Lambda Solutions offers a Mobile theming package and provides support and training to help customers get more out of their Moodle.
This document discusses integrating eLearning capabilities into an open source content management system (CMS) like Drupal. It describes how to install Drupal and relevant modules to upload SCORM-compliant courses, track learner progress, and control access to site content based on course completion. While this provides a solid implementation, the SCORM module has some limitations. However, the flexibility of open source CMSs allows extending their learning management system (LMS) capabilities to meet specific project needs.
The document discusses various extensions that can be used with the Moodle learning management system including the Enterprise Learning Intelligence Suite (ELIS) for learner, curriculum and content management, Mahara for e-portfolios, Kaltura for video uploading and editing, and integrating Google Apps. It also previews new features in Moodle 2.0 like the TinyMCE text editor, YouTube filter, activity locking, and repository integration. The presentation was given by Mark McCall from Remote-Learner.net on integrating these extensions with Moodle.
Moodle is an open-source learning management system (LMS) that is used by educators around the world. It has over 150,000 registered users on its main site and is used by universities like UCLA, UC San Diego, and Smith College. Moodle was designed to help foster online learning communities following social constructivist pedagogy. It has a variety of features that allow for online collaboration, including forums, wikis, quizzes, assignments and more. Moodle provides these features freely as open source software and has an active development and support community.
The document discusses using the Moodle learning management system in a corporate environment. It provides an overview of Moodle's features and strengths for creating online courses, but also notes some of its weaknesses like limited reporting capabilities. It describes workarounds the company implemented like using a "meta course" to simulate hierarchical groups and exporting databases to create custom reports. The document concludes by discussing hosting options and taking final questions.
