Well-known organizations like Google, Safeway and Four Seasons use open source learning management. Here are just a few of the companies that use our technology.
One company that we’d like to highlight is Rutgers University. Rutgers uses a Lambda hosted instance of Moodle to deliver learning for their Biomedical and Health Services programs.
Three things that Rutgers were looking for in an LMS were flexibility, cost savings, and speed and reliability.
Using Moodle Rutgers was able to benefit from full control of their Moodle site, with ability to build in features and functionalities that were unique to their student needs.
Rutgers also experienced both time and cost savings, compared to what they invested in their previous hosting provider
Just a reminder that this presentation is being recorded, and you will all receive the recording and the slides in an email after the webinar. So if you don’t want to take notes don’t worry about it, just grab a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy the presentation.

Global Search allows users to search through forums, wikis, and other content throughout their Moodle site
There is now competency based Learning support in Moodle
Moodle will now rationalize confirmations when you start a quiz – you will only see the prompt “Are you sure you want to start a quiz now?” when the quiz has a time limit, not every time
You can now pin discussions to keep them at the top of a discussion list - similar to the feature on Twitter, for any of those who are familiar with Twitter
Support in Moodle Plugins is the Moodle Mobile Remote add-on which is the mobile app version of a Moodle plugin that will load when a user access the site on the app.
The assignment grading interface now allows for annotation
Calendar events will now show duration within the calendar block. This will make due dates, quiz times, and assignment deadlines more clear to users.
Bulk download all files within a folder activity as a ZIP file and maintain the folder structure
Within quizzes, Moodle will display the correct answers for administrators when they are manually grading automatically marked questions.
Recycle Bin plugin is now part of the Standard Moodle distribution, which allows the user to recover any deletions of course module and activities. The recycle bin will list the items that can be recovered with the title, and the date deleted. This is the first project the Moodle User Association took on to integrate this plugin as part of Moodle core.
