Taming Of The Shrew Essays
Crafting an essay on the theme of "Taming of the Shrew" presents a unique set of challenges.
Firstly, delving into the intricacies of Shakespearean literature demands a keen understanding of
the language, context, and underlying themes. The archaic language used in the play can be
perplexing, requiring extensive analysis to unravel its meaning and relevance.
Moreover, interpreting the complex characters and their evolving relationships is no easy feat.
Unraveling the layers of Kate and Petruchio's dynamic, deciphering the motivations of other
characters, and understanding the societal norms of the time all contribute to the complexity of
the task.
Another challenge lies in presenting a fresh perspective. Given the extensive scholarship on
Shakespeare, avoiding clichГ©s and providing a novel interpretation requires thorough research
and critical thinking. Crafting a thesis that adds value to the existing body of knowledge while
staying true to the essence of the play is a delicate balance.
Additionally, the essay must navigate through the societal and gender dynamics prevalent in
"Taming of the Shrew." Analyzing these elements demands a nuanced understanding of the
historical context and the ability to connect them with contemporary issues, making the essay
relevant to a modern audience.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Taming of the Shrew" is a formidable task that necessitates
linguistic prowess, critical thinking, historical awareness, and the ability to offer a fresh
perspective on a well-trodden subject.
For those seeking assistance in tackling such challenging essays, it's worth noting that similar

Prince Rogers Nelson Biography
Prince Rogers Nelson, the artist known as Prince who Thursday became formerly
with a devastating finality at only 57, was so gifted it barely can be believed, let
alone described. Thankfully, it hardly needs to be, because anyone who wasn t
frightened off by his flagrancies and ambiguities could tell that this was a talent of
the kind that rearranges what culture can do and what a human can be the kind
possessed, for instance, by two artists who predeceased him, his contemporary
Michael Jackson and his elder by a dozen years David Bowie, and a very short list of
other figures in pop music history.
He was one of the finest ever pop singers, one of the most incredible guitarists (the
anecdote in which Eric Clapton once replied to the question What s it like to be the
greatest guitarist alive? by saying I don t know, ask Prince is probably apocryphal but,
on a higher plane, definitely correct), and one of the most indelible songwriters, most
influential producers, best wearers (and removers) of clothing, and most electric
semiotic manipulators.

Job Description Of A Ceo
For somebody who plans on being a CEO one day, knows a CEO, or is wondering
what the wages of a CEO are, would be surprised to find out that the average pay of
CEOs is $16,316,000. This number is so high because of the numerous tasks that
CEOs perform. The job description of a CEO means meeting the needs of
employees, customers, investors, communities, and the law. (Lafley, 2009) After I
read an article from the former CEO of Procter and Gamble, I understand why CEOs
are stressed and face so many difficulties everyday. Paying CEOs a large salaryis
understandable to a point, however, paying them an average of $16,316,000 is way
to high. Should CEOs be paid large salaries because they are stressed constantly and
are always on call? Two men,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Should the average worker get paid more, or should CEO wages be decreased? We
can find the results to these questions by looking at many large companies and
seeing how their CEOs are paid and by the work they do.
$16,316,000 was the average pay of CEOs in 2015. (Kaplan, 2008) This number is
way too high and CEO s salaries should be decreased to help further other parts of
the company. The success of a company should be the company s top priority and
they should not be putting such a large amount of money into their CEO s salary.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook stated in an interview that, Companies
need to make sure the CEO is happy, however, giving them several million dollar
bonuses while the company is not doing to good, should not make the CEO happy
because that means they are not doing their job correctly. (Kirichenko, 3:41)
Increasing the salary of the CEO may make them work less hard because they
know if they fail they will only go back to their original pay or receive more
money. LГ©o Apotheker was the CEO of Hewlett Packard and was fired because
he failed to meet the duties required as a CEO. When he got fired, he received $23
million for 11 months of work and received $13 million in termination benefits.
Kathy Kristof said in an interview that, we can see that increasing the CEO s salary,
like in the case with Apotheker, will not motivate them to work harder, but rather to
Inhumanity In The Last Days
Steven Spielberg s The Last Days is profoundly disturbing as it allows the viewer to
see humanity s ability to disregard the thoughts and feelings of others through the
eyes of concentration camp survivors humanity s inhumanity. The five survivors The
Last Days follows have eerily similar stories of disrespect, abuse, and neglect. It is
hard to imagine that their experiences actually happened, that is how extreme the
cruelty is. It started with small, overlooked changes. Tom spoke of Jewslosing their

situation progressed to the point where Irene recalled her friends, people who were

Midwestern Contemporary Art Case Study
Many situations present the important synchronization of internal versus external
negotiations. Many individuals have studied how each side in the negotiation is
able to manage the internal opposition to agreements being negotiated. This can
also be known as on the table , or what exactly is on the line in a heated argument.
Each individual involve in an argument has a particular position to be managed, and
often times own personal interests are widely expressed. This paper will expand
upon the case of Fischer collecting needed funds from Smith with proposals and ideas
for a manageable negotiation.

Simply put resting at a conclusion after a negotiation may not necessarily be the ideal
outcome unless cooperative is achieved by both parties. Bargaining in general could
involve parents, friends, teachers, spouses, employers, and so on (Anderson, 2013).
Likewise companies also negotiation contracts with one another or individuals
involved within the companies. In the instance of Fischer and Smith, a formal
negotiation was never made between them personally, but as a whole Smith agreed to
make pledges to Midwest Contemporary Art years and years beforehand. Pledges
would be made on a consistent basis once started, but since pledges after the initial
$10,000 one were never initiated the Contemporary Art facility is struggling. In the
original location which was much smaller than the renovated one the museum
perhaps would have had no troubles staying afloat with or without the pledge of Mr.
and Mrs. Smith. After the renovations of a new facility the value of the museums
success rested on contributions initially promised by Mr. Smith.
Interests in the case Coming from a stand point of pretending to be Mrs. Fischer
personal interests in the case are a matter of whether or not employment at the

Is the Funeral Industry Affected by Recession
How the funeral industry is being impacted and changed by the Global Recession?
Benjamin Franklin s old adage in this world nothing can be said to be certain
except death and taxes has never been truer. However, if he was around today he
might change his spelling of death to debt . Taxes in Ireland have increased
recently and the forthcoming emergency budget looks certain to bring further
misery to the population. So while governments are busy collecting whatever taxes
they can, people are still dying! You are born and then you die, it is a simple fact of
life. In fact the portion in between we call life is the uncertain part. When you die
you will require the services of an undertaker / funeraldirector. They are there to tax

Laurence Shatkin seems to think that the industry is recession proof. He ranks a
funeral director at number 84 in his recent book 150 Best Recession Proof Jobs .
Yes the work will continue to come and as the baby boomers come of age, so to
speak, the funeral industry doesn t look like slowing down. However, it is not just
the people that are dying, the profits are too! People have become more cost
conscious as a consequence of the recession and even in their time of grief they are
starting to shop around for the best deal to bury their loved ones. Remember, death
can be sudden and unplanned and a costly funeral will rarely be budgeted for. A
funeral is a celebration of someone s life and often the extravagance is a reflection
of the respect for that person. Irish people are famed for their funeral celebrations
otherwise known as a good send off . Nobody wants to cut back on any of the
customs associated with a traditional funeral, however, Dermott Jewell of the
Consumers Association of Ireland has said I don t think anyone can underestimate
the difficulty of asking questions or querying things at the time of a funeral but the
fact is, you are availing of a service that comes at a cost and it can be quite extreme.
There are alternatives and you do have a choice. There is a personal barrier there
that you may be seen as being mean but nobody should think in that vein The
alternatives are straight forward. Choose a less ornate coffin;

The R Codes specifies minimum and average lot areas, or plot ratios for each
density code (i.e. R20, R30, R40 etc.). Local planning schemes then apply a density
coding to residential zoned land which is used to control the subdivision and
development of land.
To ensure clear scope for scheme objectives to influence the assessment of proposals.
To ensure certainty in timely assessment and determination of proposals applied

The WAPC has prepared the explanatory guidelines on the matters addressed in the R

guidance and assist interpretation and assessment of proposals against the design
principles and/or deemed to comply provisions of the R Codes.
In addition to meeting lot size requirements, the Residential Design Codes specify
other requirements relating to lot design, setbacks, driveways, open space, plot ratio,

Celebrity Endorsement Marketing Campaigns
Celebrity endorsement is a billion dollar industries today (Kambitsis et al., 2002) with
companies signing deals with celebrities hoping that they can help them stand out
from the clutter and give them a unique and relevant position in the mind of the
consumer. According to Solomon (2002), the reasons for using celebrityendorsement
involves its potential to create awareness, positive feelings towards their advertising
and brand. Research has shown that celebrity endorsement can have an impact on the
consumer s attention, recall, evaluations and purchase intentions (Atkin and Block,
1993), Celebrity endorsement is a widely used tactic in marketing and much research

Self image has been research in the context of celebrity endorsement, and
established that it is an important factor in marketing (Fortini Cambell, 1992).
Some of the respondents told stories of how they were influenced by celebrity
endorsement when they were younger. One person referenced Michael Jordan and
his endorsement of the Nike shoes. This reflects self image when considering what
to buy and what influenced them. It also reflects a need to be different as well as
the same time identify with a group of people. Apparently this can go both ways. If
one product gets too popular among a certain group it can actually make others
choose another product even though they like it. Companies may also use celebrities
to try to control or manipulate the consumer into buying the endorsed product. This
may have a negative impact, as consumers may view the celebrities as being puppets
for the company. Companies are using celebrities to influence the consumers
behavior in a certain direction, at the same time the consumer often may perceive
the celebrity to by lying when indorsing certain products. For example, many a
celebrity has been photographed while enjoying a cold Pepsi much to the dismay of
the marketing department for Coke that they are promoting. The celebrity is no

Comparing Pablo Picassos And Diego Velazquez s Las

In this essay I will be comparing and contrasting Diego Velazquez s Las meninas
and Pablo Picasso s Las meninas which are two paintings with Diego Velazquez s
being the first to make it in the 1600 s. Comparing:Diego Velazquez s painting and
Pablo Picasso s are the same because they both have very fine detail and how small
the lines they made, made such an impact on the result and you can see that it
clearly does. I say this because if you look at Picasso s the streaks of the brush are
shown in the girl s hair and make it look much better than if he would have just
painted the entire hair shapes in and filled them in. In Velazquez s his attention to
detail is shown in the dog and in the pictures behind ... Show more content on

I say this because I said that Picasso s had the woman making the girl big. In
Velazquez s the girl has the women also making her the center point. She couldn t
be though if the she didn t have the women helping her and making her. I say this
because she looks like she has a lot of things going on just sitting down and she
couldn t do everything by herself so to look good she needs the helpers or women.
This is why I think that these two paintings look similar in this topic and also could
look different.Contrasting:The second thing that I think is different about these two
paintings is that the girl in Picasso s painting is living in poverty and she looks pretty
when she is cleaned up. In Velazquez s the girl is living a lush life and has servants
doing her work and she is just a young girl. The reason I say this is because since
Velazquez was the king s painter he only painted things that looked expensive for
the king and his family to see. In Picasso s case he was just a really good painter
and he painted things that everybody who had practically nothing could relate to and
hope for. The last thing that Picasso s has is the act of making the girl seem like she
is the representation of the earth. I say this because on the outside it looks pretty, but
underneath she is a whole lot of bad.Comparing:The third thing that makes these two

Personal Narrative-The Ecstasy Of Negativity In The Mind
A whisper breathed through the back of my mind. My conscious spoke to me the
words of the devil. I shake my head off the destructive and corrosive talk. I ve been
brought down by the battles that goes through my head. My mind became a
violent site of negativity against my internal self. A place where no rays of sun
can radiate through. My confidence slipped away as I hit rock bottom during my
junior year. The joy I had diminished. The ember of my fire extinguished through
the lost oxygen as I slowly fall apart. My last breath was my last hope I had in
myself, only for it to be smother by the devil of my mind. On nights where I have to
study for my upcoming tests, I get overwhelm by all the topics I have to study. Stacks

wake up every day in hopes of discovering something new and exciting. Self doubt
is nothing but self deterioration that stopped me from achieving my full potential.
The limitations that we set upon ourselves is how far we will go. I let myself free

Gender Roles Of Women In Egyptian And American Culture
Globalization, the international interaction between people and their ideas, have led
to economic development, cultural diffusion, and technological advancements across
the world. For instance, McDonald s, one of the most popular fast food franchises in
American culture, has rapidly spread and developed across the globe. In Hong Kong,
China, the Western fast food chain has influenced the city because it has instilled the
social norm for young kids to get a fast meal, while also developing the city into a
postmodern metropolitan center. This illustrates the symbolic influence of the West,
and particularly the United Stateson the rest of the world. Anyhow, despite western

Egyptian customers accepted the Chinese business owners because they know that
the Chinese would not break their deeply embed traditions and customs. Moreover,
after critiquing this article one can observe through a sociological lens the similarities
and differences of the gender roles of women in Egyptian and American culture. Both
cultures are similar because the women are subjected and portrayed as inferior
figures under the dominated patriarchal system of men. However, some of the
behaviors and norms do not parallel between these cultures. Hessler discusses that
Egyptian women in the process of getting married go shopping for lingerie with
their families, and that the most self confident American woman would be mortified
by the idea of shopping for lingerie with her fiancГ©, her mother, and her teenage
brother, not to mention doing this in the presence of two Chinese shop owners, their
assistant, and a foreign journalist (Hessler 3). This clearly illustrates a major
difference between the behaviors of women in two different societies, and there are
many other striking difference such as American women having the choice to have
extensive mobility after marriage, opposed to Egyptian women who must spend their
days in the house after getting married. All in all globalization may have a major
effect in creating a uniformed and organized world, because with the spread of people
comes theirs traditions and ideas, thus shaping how a society construct
Analysis Of Greasy Lake And Barn Burning
Making Decisions is a Big Part of Life In life we are challenged daily in making the
right or wrong decision. In order to do what is right it takes a strong will person
who is a leader and not a follower of the masses. The authors T. Coraghessan Boyle
and William Faulkner in the short stories Greasy Lake and Barn Burning , portrayed
how individuals can be leaders and ultimate make good decisions against all odds. So
what character traits help these young men to eventually become good decisions
makers? In the short storyGreasy Lake the young men were peer pressured into
being someone that they thought was cool. These boys represented the average
teenage boy trying to figure out who they are and what they want to be. During the
boys century it was cool to be the bad guy that smokes and drinks. The author states
in the short story that There was a time when courtesy and winning ways went out
of style, when it was good to be bad, when you cultivated decadence like a taste
(Faulkner). The boys believed if they were the bad boys that girls would like them.
However, the protagonist were portrayed as being raised in a middle class home
with parents trying to raise their children the proper way. This short story more so
about how a group of young men try to against what they have been initial taught by
their parents. The three boys encountered a ton of situations that they put themselves
in. For example, the practical joke, the wrong car, wrong girl, another car/body,
What It Means to Be Defined as Female in the 21st Century
Have you ever pondered on what precisely it meant to be defined as a female living
in the 21st century? How do you believe your response relates to your surroundings?
How does creativity impact your response? What does it mean to be a creative
woman versus a creative man? These questions can help us understand femininity and
how creativity plays an underlying role in prevalent genderdifferences that we
endure today. The concept of femininity is socially constructed with biological
factors incorporated as well. At the outset, a female was defined by the amount of
roles she took on in the household whether it was cooking, cleaning, or simply
caring for the children. On the other hand, society had associated men with fewer
jobs in the home and more in the workforce. Granting those typecasts have
improved over the years, there still remains an imbalanced gap between women and
men that needs to be filled. The responsibilities of women and men in the 21st
century refer to women taking over more masculine roles and challenging the role of
femininity. In general, society expects females to be sensitive and very dependent
and males to be stern and self governing. And quite often society does not know how
to respond when females cross the border of what is labeled as a female domain . By
virtue of the gap between the opportunities offered to women and men, society
dictates that the expectations for each gender contribute to the different experiences
that women and men encounter .
Persuasive Essay On Homelessness In Hawaii
Homelessness in Hawaii
How can we help them through this struggle?
The future is the children, yet many are choosing to be runaways and headed to the
direction of becoming homeless at a young age. Before criticizing their poor
choices, there are valid common reasons as to why youth are leaving, such as family
problems, being casted away for having an unacceptable sexuality and teens who end
up being pregnant. Around the world, there have been quite a few cases that involve
the three reasons for homelessness listed, including in the State of Hawaii. In order
to prevent the numbers of young ones from becoming homeless, the state alone
offers a variety of organizations, programs and projects that provides help to all
underage group of teens circling dangerous streets. Some great organizations,
programs and projects that can be found are called Hawaii YouthServices Network
(HYSN),
Youth Outreach (YO), and Institute for Human Services family shelter (IHS). It is
normal to have people claiming to have never heard about any of these before, but
that is because media coverage mainly focuses on the much bigger group which are
the adults and does not show the other part where youngsters are struggling to
survive alone. Nonetheless, the growth of homelessness needs to be controlled soon
or this will divert more of people s focus on other problems in the community.
A home is a place for everyone to get to at the end of the day and feel the love
through the presence of family.

Review Of The Book Thief Essays
Review of: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
It seems sometimes like the market for young adult literature is written down to
the readers, almost in a condescending manner. That is why a book like The Book
Thief by Markus Zusak is so refreshing in this sea of cookie cutter romances and
fantasies. While classified as a young adult novel, it deals with very serious
themes. The book s cover comes printed with this label: It is 1939. Nazi Germany.
The country is holding its breath. Death has never been busier, and will become
busier still. It is a dark allusion to what is to come. But Zusak makes this story more

The Development of Cimetidine as Treatment for Peptic...
The drug cimetidine was launched in 1976, as a successful medication to treat
peptic ulcers. Over many centuries peptic ulcer has been a major cause of death, at
any particular time about 4 million people are effected with peptic ulcer, and the at
least 6000 people die from this disease each year.
Peptic ulcer results from erosion within the walls three particular areas of the
gastrointestinal tract (GIT); the oesophagus, the stomach or the duodenum. This is
due to the excessive production of stomach acid, consisting of hydrochloric acid
(HCl) and the enzyme pepsin, required for digestion in the gastrointestinal tract; this
can also lead the acid to reach the oesophagus. Under normal circumstances the
linings are protected from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, following surgery the symptoms associated with ulcers were not cured.
This lead to further understanding of the causes of peptic ulcers, and that the regular
use of NSAIDs medications such as aspirin to treat other illnesses induces ulcers
(figure 2).
Aspirin inhibits the enzyme COX 1 which normally converts arachidonic acids to
prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are responsible for the positive feedback on non
parietal cells to produce mucus and bicarbonate protective layers and they show
negative feedback on parietal cells, inhibiting acid secretion. Thus inhibition of the
COX 1 inhibits synthesis of prostaglandins hence decreased mucus and bicarbonate
production and increased acid production (figure 1).
Cimetidine treatment for NSAIDs/aspirin induced acid production was discovered
upon investigating histamine receptors located on the parietal cells. Histamine
receptor activation, triggers acid secretion, consequently, antagonising the histamine
receptor decreases the gastric acid production; thus aiming to treat peptic ulcers.
This discovery was initiated by James Whyte Black and William Duncan in 1964;
with other scientist s contributions, cimetidine was discovered at Smith Kline and
French Laboratories (now known as: GlaxoSmithKline) facilities in Philadelphia.

Goya And Picasso Comparison
Pablo Picasso and Goya were both very famous artists and were part of the cubist
movement. They both have a very different style of painting but they do have
similarities in some of their paintings. For example, Picasso s Guernica and Goya s
Third of May are similar in ways. The Guernica is probably Pablo Picassos most
famous work. It is a paintingthat expresses his most influential political statements. It
is about his personal reaction to the Nazi s casual bombing practice on the Basque
town of Guernica during the Spanish civil war. The Guernica shows the tragedies of
war and the suffering it inflicts upon individuals, particularly innocent civilians. This
work has gained a monumental status, becoming a perpetual reminder of the tragedies

There is death all over the painting and when you focus on a small part of the
massive painting, you can see different figures appear with different meanings
behind it. While individual figures are hard to make out, each one has a different
story behind it for example on the far left is a woman with her head titled back,
screaming in pain and misery while holding the lifeless body of her dead child.
This is said to be one of the most disturbing and memorable images in the painting.
To the right of that figure is the head of a large white bull, which is the only
unharmed and calm figure from the chaos of figures. Beneath the mother holding
her died child is a dead/wounded man with his arm cut off and his other arm
appears to hold a knife. The figure only has his head and arms visible; the rest of
his body is overlapped by the different figures. In the middle, there is scared horse
standing with his mouth open screaming in pain because a sword cuts up the
whole right side of his body. On the right side of the painting, there are three more
different women. One woman who is looking up at a cube thing hanging from the
ceiling at the top of the painting. Another women is leaning out of the window of a
burning house, her long extended arm holding a lamp, while the third woman
appears trapped in the burning building, screaming in fear and horror (Khan). All of
the women s faces show signs of pain and agony. Most of their eyes are displaced,
mouths are open, and their tongues are shaped like daggers
The Role Of Love In The Great Gatsby
The Crazy things People will do for Love In F. Scott Fitzgerald s novel The Great
Gatsby, one of his main characters Jay Gatsby is a man who has everything. This
man has a beautiful home; he has all of the money he could possibly handle and he
is a very charismatic human being. Everyone loves what he has, materialistic wise
and he happens to be appreciated well throughout New York. Although Jay Gatsby
has everything, he has nobody. Gatsby has no one to come home to and no one to
live with and share his wealth. While expressing the fact of Gatsby being a rich man
with no one to share his wealth with, he throws very elaborate parties to compensate
for the ghosts among his home who leave him on Sunday nights. Gatsby is a rich

relationship. They were all in the same vicinity when Daisy began to compliment
Gatsby in a flirtatious way, while at the same time peaking Tom s interest, Who
wants to go to town, demanded Daisy insistently. Gatsby s eyes floated towards
her, Ah she cried, you look so cool (Fitzgerald 119). Tom witnessed this atrocity in
his home and began to grow frustrated and anxious. Women in this novel are very
dangerous. They are very dangerous because a lot is revolving around them and
many of the decisions made are mainly regarding the actions they took previously.
The women play such huge roles to the fact that the hatred amongst the men in this
novel is strongly because of them. Gatsby is a very relaxed character and Tom is a
hot head, by implementing Daisy into the relationship of Tom and Gatsby in this
chapter, she stirs up ruckus. So much heat is between the two men Tom begins to
mock Gatsby and heat up the tension even more. However, people do crazy things for

What Is The Theme Of The Dancing Girl
The story The Dancing Girl is a well written book written by Mori Ogai in the
1880s, which portrays the facts and information of the time period at that time.
This book was one of the first Japanese fictional novels written outside of Japan.
The story takes place in the late 1880s and the translated version written by
Richard Bowring was released in the 1890s. The story is about the author Mori
Ogai s own life experience as a medical student. Ogai remodeled the world literature
as he narrates the relationship of the protagonist the medical student Toyotaro Ota
and the heroine German dancing girl Elise. In this aspect, the intention of this essay
is to acknowledge the story The Dancing Girl written by Mori Ogai and as well as

Sex Roles Are A Social Construct Society
Sex roles are a social construct society has placed upon the sexes to do things that
are within their nature. For example, a woman, has been seen as a mother,
caretaker, housewife, whereas, a man, is seen as a breadwinner , hunter, and so on.
Those depict occupations men and women are labeled to have. In other terms, sex
roles can indicate personality traits. For example, women are seen as gentle, caring,
and emotional. Men are seen as aggressive, brave, and sometimes hostile. Theories
have shown why the sexes are different biologically and how children grow up
conforming to society s role of what is masculine and feminine, or even androgynous.
Researchers in the 1930 s have noticed differences in the responses of men and
women pertaining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be masculine is to have those personality traits. In contrast, femininity are traits
such as, nurturing, empathetic, and expressive of emotions. In turn, one can express
traits that of masculine and feminine, being androgynous. For example, I being a
female, am not expressive of my emotions and tend to be assertive at times. That
being the social construct of masculine and feminine does not pertain to each sex
anymore. Androgyny is the fact that one can express both traits on the spectrum
and not just being on one side. Overall, sex roles are reinforced by the socialization
theory, that explains children are reinforced to be masculine or feminine. For
example, when a boy does an action of out his role, plays with dolls, he is
reinforced by parents or older adult figures that what he is doing does not make him
masculine and take away the doll. In contrast, for girls playing with trucks is seen as
not feminine. Research to support the social role theory found that individuals
assigned a supervisor role were more dominant versus being the supervisee and being
submissive. As well as the social learning theory which states children model
behavior of the gender they are associated with. Boys watch their dad watch sports
and fix cars, where as, girls watch their mom cook and clean. More than often, the
parents teach them and want them to model after
Londonwide Local Medical Committees (LMC)
I work for an organisation called Londonwide Local Medical Committees (LLMC).
LLMC is the clinically led independent voice of GPs in the capital . We aim to
support all general practice (GPs) in London; LLMC s mission statement is Securing
the future of general practice ; this is achieved through the work we do with our
partners in the Healthand Social Care sector. There are over 7,000 GPs and over
1,300 practices in London that we support and represent through our 27 locally
elected committees (LMC). LMC are a part of the NHS landscape and are
recognised in statute which makes them qualified to provide advice, guidance and
support on a range of issues that affect general practice. LMC are the only
independent, elected and representative body for local GPs. Here at Londonwide, a

List of Social Media Tools and its uses
Majority of people see Social Media as a marketing tool.(Harrin 2010) Many
companies are all eagerly searching for customers and simply captivating their
attention by participating in online conversations. Most companies and businesses
tend to communicate with customers through social media sites such as Twitter or
Facebook. This hands on approach of communicating is also being adopted in the
common workplace, especially by Project Managers and their dispersed teams. Social
Media is not only simply used to communicate with customers but can effectively be
used to manage teams in a workplace as well as any projects you are working on.
There are many Social Media tools, which are widely available to Project Managers
and each and every tool can be used to manage and deliver projects. Social Media
tools, which can be used, are listed below.
1. Blogs

3. Instant Messaging
4. Microblogs
5. Podcasts

Deception In Memoirs Of A Geisha By Arthur Golden
Thesis:
In the novel, Memoirs of a Geisha, by Arthur Golden the theme of deception is
prominent. Through the deception experienced by Sayuri, golden teaches his readers
that deception can hurt but it can lead to something better.
Methods of development:
Deception from Mr. Tanaka
I couldn t stop thinking about Mr.Tanaka. He had taken me away from my mother
and father, sold me into slavery, sold my sister into something even worse. I had
taken him as a kind man. I thought he was so refined, so worldly. What a stupid
child I had been. I would never go back to Yoroido, I decided. Or if I did , it would
only be to tell Mr. Tanaka how much I hated him. (Golden pg.82)
But the truth is that the afternoon when I met Mr. Tanaka Ichiro really was the best
and worst of my life. (Golden pg.7)
Sayuri admired Mr. Tanaka and wanted to become his adopted daughter, after being
taken away from her home she was extremely hurt and felt stupid for believing in him.
She felt as though her life would never be the same again, and even tried to run away
risking her chances of becoming a Geisha.
Sayuri eventually benefited from this as she herself noticed that living in Gion
allowed her to become much more successful allowing her to take care of herself.
She recognized that if she had remained in Yoroido she would have never been able
to achieve success and that she would still be living in her little tipsy house with little
to support herself.
Coming to Gion is also the reason she meet the
Compare And Contrast Rainforests And Mangroves
Rainforests and Mangroves hold very vital roles in our ecosystems, in which this
essay is comparing the two. Mangroves cultural significance towards Brisbane are
strongly linked to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of Australia.
They have provided food, shelter, medicine and many other resources to the land
owners for over 40,000 years. They are also important to Brisbane s natural
environmentbecause they are immensely productive ecosystems in which they
provide various resources and services, for instance they protect shorelines from
erosion. Brisbane rainforests hold significant cultural value, alike to that of the
mangroves, to the Aborigines, in which they ve supply medicine and vast amounts of
foods. Rainforests are a vital stabilizer for the Earth s climate, along with maintaining
the water cycles.
Biotic factors are found in every ecosystem, interacting together to survive. Herons
(or the common egret) inhabit mangrove swamps, and are found in most parts of the
world. They can usually be found by mangrove tree roots, feeding mainly on frogs,
fish, small mammals and occasionally small insects and reptiles. In contrast, the

The symbiosis between a mangroves pneumatophores (roots) and an oyster is
commensalism, the oyster uses the roots as a place to live while the mangrove stays
unharmed. Another communalistic relationship is that between New World army
ants and antbirds, the ants have a tendency to shake the rainforest floor as they march,
this disrupts insects which causes them to fly out. The insects are then eaten by the
following antbirds, the birds are then benefiting while the ants don t care. When
looking at the communalistic relationships there are many differences, the oyster
lives in the mangroves roots, while the antbird obtains food from what the ants

It perhaps is the only place that exists that has living, breathing, and intelligent
beings on it. So when one lays back in the grass on a nice warm breezy night ,and
looks up into the stars and thinks deeply about being on the only planet known to
have life on it, it raises more questions as to how important the earth is to us? What
if we run out of space on earth? Or what if we use all the materials we have access
to on earth? All these questions are very important to how society should be run,
because what truly would happen if we ran out of resources? This is where people
have come up with the brilliant idea of conservation and using it to keep earth and us
moving for many years to come. Conservation is the only way that we can ensure that
we will have a healthy planet for future generations to use. That is why conservation
effects the environment and the ecology on earth so greatly. If there were no
environmental conservation laws then most likely people would have destroyed earth
almost completely by now. For some time the environment wasn t very regulated and
people were allowed to do what they wanted. This ended up causing many
environmental disasters like the Dust Bowl, the extinction of many animals due to
overhunting, and the loss of biodiversity and animal extinction from the process of
deforestation. This is why conservation is very beneficial to the earth and everything
on it. As the article stated Environmentalist call for protecting or improving the

Influence of Television Programs on Children Before there was television, children
had options of playing outside, playing board games, or doing simple activities like
reading or drawing. Now that TV exists to a high extremity, it has become apparent
that nowadays these children shows have surpassed physical and intellectual
activities and have now become a way of life for children. We now see children

In this article, Pasek also determines that children under three years of age in no
way benefit from television; even if it is Baby Einstein, (Kramer n.pag). Studies
have also been conducted trying to determine whether or not watching television
to great amounts is affecting the eating habits and psyche of young children. A
study published by US Journal Pediatrics found that more psychological
difficulties dealing with peers, emotional issues, and hyperactivity are likely to
develop with children who spend numerous hours daily in front of television or
playing video games (Yahoo! News n.pag). Researchers studied 1,013 children
ages 10 to 11 and had them complete a 25 point questionnaire, a self report about
daily hours watching television or playing games, and measured their physical
activity using an accelerometer in which the kids wore around their waist for
seven days (Yahoo! News n.pag). It was concluded that children spending two or
more hours a day were likely to score higher on the questionnaire which indicated,
They had more psychological difficulties than kids who did not spend a lot of time
in front of a screen, (Yahoo! News n.pag). Even if children are physically active but
still spend multiple hours watching television or playing video games, they are still at
risk for psychological difficulties. Researchers stress the importance of parents
regulating how much these activities are being done to ensure their

Summer Vacation Essay
When I was about ten years old my family started going on vacation over spring
break nearly every year. In the past we had been to Colorado multiple times,
Mexico, and Florida, which we loved enough that we decided to come visit again.
It was March 18, 2017, my freshman year of high school. Mom and dad told my
younger sister and me that we could each take a friend on vacation with us this
year. We wanted to take people that would be okay with us all hanging out together,
with this in mind we chose our cousins Adri and Ellie. One specific day of the
vacation, we spent on the beach tanning, boogie boarding, eating ice cream, playing
volleyball, and jumping waves. Jumping waves was my favorite part, we stood
about forty feet out in to the ocean. I was usually the type to stay up on the beach
lying in the sand under the glowing yellow sunsoaking up some rays instead of
actually going out in the water. I was completely content with my eyes closed
listening to the ocean wavesand squawking seagulls reaching that golden tan. On
this day the other girls came to me as I chatted with mom in the sand and told me
how exciting it was out in the water. I thought to myself You know what, why not
go try it out. I walked out in to the water looking down at the colorful array of
seashells. Gritty sand ran between my toes as the chill of the water rose up my legs
the further I ventured. I caught a glimpse of a beautiful red shell shining through the
water. I picked it up, and a small burst
In The Wee Small Hours
Any researcher, philosopher, or anthropologist have considerable difficulty finding a
heart which has never been scathed, bruised, or even broken by love. Throughout all
recorded history, the common experience of the pains of love is shared. Perhaps this
has contributed to society s desire to produce and consume material that relates to
this subject. In particular, one record of lost loverelates these lonely heart woes in a
understandable yet intricate way. Frank Sinatras 1955 album, In the Wee Small Hours
, shares the lonely emotions that result from lost love.
The first track, In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning, seems to set the stage for
the main elements found in the rest of the album. Throughout the record, Sinatra
displays a sort of obsession with his lost love and with his loneliness. Even the title
of the album and the first song lend themselves to this point. Sinatra is consumed
by thoughts of your lover even in the wee small hours of the morning, sharing that
that s the time you miss her most of all (Sinatra). Amplified by second person
pronouns, Sinatra suggests that this describes every soul s experience of loneliness
and heart break. In numerous other instances, Sinatra alludes to the lonely
obsession with love that follows losing someone. In separate songs he says, But ask
any lover and you ll soon discover [...] like faded flowers, life can t mean anything
when your lover has gone, I cry my heart out it s bound to break, since nothing

Child Birth Is The Most Natural Process Essay
Child birth is supposed to be the most natural process in the world. However, this
does not seem to be the case in America. Child birth has become an industrialised and
unpredictable process that is becoming increasingly confined to the sterile walls of a
hospital. In America today fewer than two percent of mothers are choosing to give
birth at home (Tuteur 1). Home births are frequently being discouraged by medical
professionals within the US, and this trend is different from many other developed
and non developed countries. In America, the comfort and freedom of one s own
home has become a perilous environment for expecting mothers. The causes of this
problem are inherently cultural, and statistical trends point to the primary cause being
differences in midwives found at homebirths and those in the hospital. Midwives
attending homebirths should be better regulated and integrated into the rest of the
healthcare system.
The American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology published research declaring
that within America, babies born outside a hospital were four times likely to
experience early death (within seven days after birth), or neonatal death (within 28
days of birth) than babies born within a hospital (Grunebaum, Mcullough et al 3). To
put this into context, the Canadian Medical Association Journal concluded the ratio
of adverse outcomes in homebirth and hospital birth was equal (Allen 1). The
homebirths included in the statistics were planned and thus prepared for,
Johannes Ludwig Von Moltke s Failure Of The Schlieffen
Plan
General Chief of Staff Helmuth Johannes Ludwig von Moltke s mission command
and leadership style left the troops of the German armies searching for purpose,
motivation, direction, and understanding. At the time of Moltke s appointment to
General Chief of Staff, he fully admitted that his personal shortcomings and lack of
self confidence did not suit him for the demands of the position . His demeanor
coupled with the lack of understanding, visualization, direction, and leading of
troops have led many to believe that he was the single point of failure in the First
Battle of the Marne, and ultimately cost Germany the Great War. Moltke
demonstrated lack of direction in execution but adequate direction in the preparation
of his troops for battle. His inability to communicate effectively and direct his
forces in accordance with the intent of the Schlieffen Plan ultimately cost the lives
of 220,000 German troops, the primary objective of Paris, and his position as
General Chief of Staff. The sheer exhaustion of his troops is the first example of
failure of direction. Moltke directed the troops to maneuver over 241... Show more

The Schlieffen Plan was a plan intended to ensure German victory over a Franco
Russian alliance by holding off Russia with a minimal strength force and swiftly
defeating France by a massive flanking movement through the Low Countries. Unable
to fully understand and visualize the reasoning that a temporary sacrifice of territory
would not interfere with the right wing offensive, Moltke chose to reinforce the left

Betty Friedan s The Feminine Mystique
In The Feminine Mystique, Betty Friedan presents several arguments that dealt with
the issues of personal engagement and equality that women of the time faced, calling
it, the problem that has no name. Friedan describes an ideal that middle class women
of the 1960s were held to. She highlights that women were chained to kitchens and
their spouses and children, while their dreams of careers and college degrees were
suppressed. These women had goals and dreams, and they wanted more, but as
Friedan describes, it was nearly impossible to break through the feminine mystique.
Friedan argues that the stereotypes, occupations, and marriages that the women held
caused the feminine mystique, however, she misses important structural issues, such...

These women in offices and labs had to put forth tremendous effort to achieve their
career goals, but were left out of Betty Friedan s arguments, quite possibly so that
competitors could not merely claim that housewives were just lazy and taking the
easy way out. Friedan also leaves out that after World War II, jobs were actually
available to anyone who wanted one, women included. The labor force was no
longer restricted to just men. If a woman wanted a job, she was capable of getting
one. At the time The Feminine Mystique was published, two thirds of the women
in America were actually already part of the working class. What it really came
down to was how badly these middle to upper class women wanted to work outside
of their homes. By cutting out most of the working female population, Friedan
neglected to consider the majority of the women who had been able to find a balance

Figurative Language In The Gift Of The Magi
In the short story, The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry, the main characters, Jim and
Della give up their most prized possessions to buy each other an exceptional gift for
Christmas. O. Henry, portrays tasteful language in this story in several ways. Henry
uses a special syntax, an unique diction, and remarkable figurative language and
imagery. This variation of writing enables the reader to understand and connect with
the story and experiences that the characters go through. O. Henry s use of figurative
language and imagery in The Gift of the Magi emphasizes and enhances the reader s
understanding of this sensational read. In the short storyThe Gift of the Magi, O.

Henry uses an assortment of figurative language to add character to his story but to
also bring in the element of connection with the reader. Figurative language can be
described as language that is used to create a special effect on the reader. Authors
often used figurative language as a way to interest readers in their story, to
persuade or convince their reader of a specific theme they want to convey, or to
establish a distinctive writing style. The first example of figurative language in
the story The Gift of the Magi is a simile. A simile is a comparison of two unlike
things using like or as. Similes can give you sentence some extra flare making it
stand out and also they can give you reader a good visual of your story. An
example of a simile in The Gift of the Magi is found on pg. 156 where it states, Jim
stopped inside the door as immovable as a setter at the scent of a quail. This simile
is comparing Jim who is shocked to a setter who has just seen a quail. This simile
emphasizes the fact that Jim is surprised because Della cut off her hair. With the
simile in the story we as readers can imagine what Jim must have looked like if he
was as immovable as a setter at the sight of quail. This element in writing is a vital
quality to have if your reader is going to fully comprehend your literature. Another
example of figurative language is personification. Personification can be defined as
describing an animal, object, or idea of human like qualities.

performed their self choreographed jazz duet, titled Clarity. Clarity is the story of
two people in a very addicting relationship, that is completely hopeless, but continues
to hold on to hope. Clarity, along with many other pieces performed in St. Theresa
Catholic Secondary Schools dancerecital, was an effective and eye catching piece that
used distinct emotion throughout the entire song. The piece had very substantial
timing issues, and minor technique issues, but overall, the piece demonstrated
excellent partnership and promising potential.
The dancers of Clarity used profound emotion not only in their faces, but in their
movements as well. Throughout the entire dance ... Show more content on

In this particular piece, it was clear that the dancers were striving to hit each beat
perfectly, but their efforts weren t enough. In most sections of the dance, one of the
dancers sometimes both of the dancers, were not in perfect unison. Perfect timing is
essential for a duet to look clean and professional. If the dancers were to perform this
piece again, I would advocate them to work towards restoring the timing of their
number.
My last point is about the dancers techniques, which especially relates to the timing
of their piece. While observing the dance, I couldn t help but notice the amount free
movement being used. I don t necessarily think that using free movement was the
best idea for this piece, because the tempo of the song Clarity is very technical. In
my opinion, if the dancers had increased their technique to perfect their piece, it may
have looked professional and complete.
The partnership that Morgan Cassidy and Coralyn Whalen displayed throughout this
whole piece created an excellent number, and promising potential for future pieces. If
both dancers work hard to improve on the few things I have mentioned, I feel that this

Fishing Rod Composites Microstructure Examination
Name: Ng szeming
Date: 9/3/16
Subject: MSE320_lab_1 Fishing rod composites microstructure examination
Abstract:
In this experiment the main objective was going to look at the microstructure of the
composites from the fishing rod with in angle, transverse and longitudinal. By using
the microscope and within different scale to see the fiber and the epoxy. And will
find out in different cut the effect to the volume fraction, and to prove why transverse
cut is the only option for the calculation
Introduction
Composites, is a material that made with two or more different material. People
can see or use it anytime, anywhere. Composite materials can provide different
advantages from mixing different materials, and usually combined metal
(aluminum), polymers (epoxy) or ceramic (silicon). One of the most common
example for the composites will be fishing rod. Nowadays fishing rod usually
make with glass fiber/ carbon fiber and epoxy. Which glass fiber or carbon fiber are
brittle but strong, and epoxy can provide a high mechanical properties. Result of the
fishing rod can be have a better toughness, and lightweight. Because of that in this
lab, the main objective is going to use the optical microscopy and find out the fiber s
alignment, the structure pattern and the mechanical properties from the fishing rod.
Experiment:
In this lab, we were required to test multiple samples of the fishing rod, which they
were already polished. First we have to set up the computer
Mesopotamia vs. Indus River Valley Essay
Mesopotamia vs. Indus River Valley 9/26/12
Ancient Mesopotamia and the Indus River Valley civilization were two incredibly
productive and successful empires. While Mesopotamian politics were slightly less
focused on religion and more on other aspects, the two societies shared many social
characteristics. They both had defined social hierarchies, as well as similar views on
gender roles. These traits are helpful in explaining the similarities and differences
between the two cultures. One of the key aspects of both Mesopotamia and the Indus
River Valley is their distinct social hierarchies. In the Indus River Valley, beginning
with the Aryans, a caste social system was used to keep citizens in their ... Show more

They did not have the right to divorce their husbands, and almost all women were
uneducated. In Mesopotamia, women were also treated very poorly. They were
taught to attend to all of their husband s needs, and could be punished severely if
they did not do as their husband said. In Babylonia, during Hammurabi s rule, there
was even a law that stated that if a woman did not obey her husband or was
unfaithful to him in any way, he was legally allowed to throw her in the river,
ultimately drowning her. While Mesopotamian and the Indus River Valley were
alike in their social characteristics, their political views differed slightly. Records
from the Indus civilizations have yet to fully been translated, and therefore not much
is known in the way of Indus political structure. What most historians assume is that
it was broken into city states with a common ruler, which is the way that
Mesopotamia was governed as well. Despite this similarity, the Indus government
was more focused on religious aspects than Mesopotamian government was. This
can be deduced by the fact that Indus rulers were always priest kings, while the
highest status in Mesopotamia was achieved first by the king, and then by the
priests. These kings were also usually the head of the military, while the priests ran
schools, distributed land, were considered doctors, and were in charge of religion.

After the components are assembled, the tyre is often referred to as a Green tyre.
Tyre builders and other workers in this area of the process are exposed to a number
of repetitive motion operations. Builders utilize solvents, such as hexane, which
allow the tread and piles of rubber to adhere. Exposure to the solvents in an area of
concern. After being assembled, the green tyre is sprayed with a solvent or water
based material to keep it away from adhering to the curing mould. These solvents
potentially expose the spray operator, material handler and curing press operator.
Curing and Vulcanizing
Curing press operators place green tyres into the curing press or onto press loading
equipment. An impressive degree of automation was observed at Apollo tyres
Kalamassery.
The press utilizes steam to heat or cure the green tyre. Rubber curing or vulcanization
transforms the tacky and pliable material to a non tacky, less pliable, long lasting
Louis Riel Essay
Louis Riel is one of the bravest people in Canadian history. Louis was born and
raised in what is now known as Winnipeg, Manitoba as a Metis. Riel was also the
founder of Manitoba, a politician, and the leader of the Metis during the red river
rebellion. The Hudson Bay Company sold Rupert s land to the new Domain of Canada
. However, the people living on this land already, which many of them were Metis
and the first nation had not been negotiated or confirmed about this. They feared for
their culture, and land rights under the control of Canada. This is what sparked the
red river rebellion. They created their own government and made Louis Riel their
leader. This revolution is also what prompted the creation of Manitobaand is why

However, because of the execution that Louis Riel was not fully on board with Louis
Riel was charged with treason and executed by the Canadian government. Overall, the
reason for the red river rebellion was that the Hudson Bay Company did not negotiate
with the first nations or the metis before selling Ruperts land to the domain of Canada.
This resulted in the Metis and first nations to worry that their culture and language
would be lost because they wouldn t get a say in the Canadian government. the Metis
with the help of first nation people living in Rupert s land created the rebellion. The
rebellions created their own government and made Louis Riel their leader. Their
government fought against the Canadian government to be able to keep the land they
had been living on for generations, their religion, land rights and their culture.
Although, it was mostly the French speaking Metis that worried about their religion
and culture because the English Metis were protestant and the Canadian government
spoke English as well. John A Macdonald, the leader of the Canadian government
wanted to negotiate with the Metis provisional government, the rebels because they
were seen as a threat, to English
King David Accomplishments
Introduction According to the New Living Translation (1996) King David lived
halfway between the lives of Abraham and Jesus, in addition to becoming one of
the most important leaders for Israel and a man after God s own heart ( 1 Samuel
13:14). David s place of birth was Bethlehem, City of DavidJerusalem where he
grew up as a shepherd, but he is better known for his youthful triumph over Goliath,
as well as being a poet, musician, soldier, and a king (Holy Bible, NLT, 1996).
King David died at the age of seventy after ruling for forty years. King David
wrestled with sin, such as adultery, family disorder, and rebellion on a national
level, however he also experienced great accomplishments as well. One great
achievement was the unification of Israel. Then all the tribes of Israel went to
David at Hebron and told him, We are all members of your family. For a long time,
even while Saulwas our King, you were the one who really led Israel. And the Lord
has told you, You will be the shepherd of my people Israel. You will be their leader
(2 Samuel 5:3). It is here that David makes a covenant with the leaders and becomes
anointed as the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
David then led his troops to Jerusalem to fight against the Jebusites (2 Samuel 5:6).
Jerusalem becomes a historical and archaeological site when David captured the
city and made it the capital of Israel. Archaeological evidence was located by a
Hebrew University professor Yosef Garfinkel that authenticated the rule of King
David. Objects were located in a ruin called Khirbet Qeiyafa, a fortified border city
in the Kingdom of Judah adjacent to the Valley of Elah, less than twenty miles
southwest of Jerusalem and five miles west of Gush Etzion (Gedalyaha, para 2,
2012). It is here that items such as, pottery, stone, metal tools, art, and ritual objects
were located (Gedalyaha, para3,
Trash On Campus
My first reason for thinking something should be done about the trash on campus is
because the trash can hurt animals. I learned on environmentalchemistry.com that
discarded fishing lines can trap the legs, wings, or neck of waterfowl such as swans
and moorhens. A fishhook may get stuck in a bird s throat. I know there are no
fishing lines at our school, and there are no poisons, but the plastic and papers
around school could hurt animals big or little. We may not see the animalswhile we
are at school, but I think it is best that we try to prevent the harming of animals. Even
though we might not leave six pack soda holders on campus, the trash might be
blown onto campus. Water birds suffer lead poisoning when they accidentally
swallow small lead... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second article I used was from greenlivingideas.com. On that site, I learned
that the Pacific Ocean has three garbage patches. The Eastern Garbage Patch, The
Western Garbage Patch, and the Subtropical Convergence Zone, which is located
in the North Pacific. This is an oceanic mess of an unprecedented degree. Because
the billions of pounds of trash are dispersed over so much of the open ocean, it
cannot be dragged in, and because it contains so many types of garbage including
microplastics that have broken down because of saltwater and sun exposure, some
of it cannot even be gathered. And plastic never fully degrades, it just breaks down
into a smaller and smaller pieces. According to the EPA, every piece of plastic
ever made is still in existence. This quote makes me think that trash has a huge
impact on animals and the rest of our world. Even the smallest piece of trash can
kill or injure animals badly. I sent out a survey, and two of four people said yes,
they noticed even the smallest piece of trash or the least amount of trash can kill an
animal, and it was human waste. The quote I used was, No one knows how much
debris makes up the Great Pacific Garbage

Job Description Of A Ceo For somebody who plans on being a CEO one day, knows a CEO, or is wondering what the wages of a CEO are, would be surprised to find out that the average pay of CEOs is $16,316,000. This number is so high because of the numerous tasks that CEOs perform. The job description of a CEO means meeting the needs of employees, customers, investors, communities, and the law. (Lafley, 2009) After I read an article from the former CEO of Procter and Gamble, I understand why CEOs are stressed and face so many difficulties everyday. (Kaplan, 2008) This number is way too high and CEO s salaries should be decreased to help further other parts of the company. The success of a company should be the company s top priority and they should not be putting such a large amount of money into their CEO s salary. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook stated in an interview that, Companies need to make sure the CEO is happy, however, giving them several million dollar bonuses while the company is not doing to good, should not make the CEO happy because that means they are not doing their job correctly. This is why I think that these two paintings look similar in this topic and also could look different.Contrasting:The second thing that I think is different about these two paintings is that the girl in Picasso s painting is living in poverty and she looks pretty when she is cleaned up. In Velazquez s the girl is living a lush life and has servants doing her work and she is just a young girl. The reason I say this is because since Velazquez was the king s painter he only painted things that looked expensive for the king and his family to see. In Picasso s case he was just a really good painter and he painted things that everybody who had practically nothing could relate to and hope for. The last thing that Picasso s has is the act of making the girl seem like she is the representation of the earth. I say this because on the outside it looks pretty, but underneath she is a whole lot of bad.Comparing:The third thing that makes these two paintings

Both cultures are similar because the women are subjected and portrayed as inferior figures under the dominated patriarchal system of men. However, some of the behaviors and norms do not parallel between these cultures. How do you believe your response relates to your surroundings? How does creativity impact your response? What does it mean to be a creative woman versus a creative man? These questions can help us understand femininity and how creativity plays an underlying role in prevalent genderdifferences that we endure today. The concept of femininity is socially constructed with biological factors incorporated as well. At the outset, a female was defined by the amount of roles she took on in the household whether it was cooking, cleaning, or simply caring for the children. On the other hand, society had associated men with fewer jobs in the home and more in the workforce. Granting those typecasts have improved over the years, there still remains an imbalanced gap between women and men that needs to be filled. The responsibilities of women and men in the 21st century refer to women taking over more masculine roles and challenging the role of femininity. In general, society expects females to be sensitive and very dependent and males to be stern and self governing. And quite often society does not know how to respond when females cross the border of what is labeled as a female domain . By virtue of the gap between the opportunities offered to women and men, society dictates that the expectations for each gender contribute to the different experiences that women and men encounter .

This lead to further understanding of the causes of peptic ulcers, and that the regular use of NSAIDs medications such as aspirin to treat other illnesses induces ulcers (figure 2). Prostaglandins are responsible for the positive feedback on non parietal cells to produce mucus and bicarbonate protective layers and they show negative feedback on parietal cells, inhibiting acid secretion. Thus inhibition of the COX 1 inhibits synthesis of prostaglandins hence decreased mucus and bicarbonate production and increased acid production (figure 1). Cimetidine treatment for NSAIDs/aspirin induced acid production was discovered upon investigating histamine receptors located on the parietal cells. Histamine receptor activation, triggers acid secretion, consequently, antagonising the histamine receptor decreases the gastric acid production; thus aiming to treat peptic ulcers. For example, a woman, has been seen as a mother, caretaker, housewife, whereas, a man, is seen as a breadwinner , hunter, and so on. Those depict occupations men and women are labeled to have. In other terms, sex roles can indicate personality traits. For example, women are seen as gentle, caring, and emotional. Men are seen as aggressive, brave, and sometimes hostile. Androgyny is the fact that one can express both traits on the spectrum and not just being on one side. Overall, sex roles are reinforced by the socialization theory, that explains children are reinforced to be masculine or feminine. For example, when a boy does an action of out his role, plays with dolls, he is reinforced by parents or older adult figures that what he is doing does not make him masculine and take away the doll. In contrast, for girls playing with trucks is seen as not feminine. Research to support the social role theory found that individuals assigned a supervisor role were more dominant versus being the supervisee and being submissive. In the past we had been to Colorado multiple times, Mexico, and Florida, which we loved enough that we decided to come visit again. It was March 18, 2017, my freshman year of high school. Mom and dad told my younger sister and me that we could each take a friend on vacation with us this year. We wanted to take people that would be okay with us all hanging out together, with this in mind we chose our cousins Adri and Ellie. One specific day of the vacation, we spent on the beach tanning, boogie boarding, eating ice cream, playing volleyball, and jumping waves. Jumping waves was my favorite part, we stood about forty feet out in to the ocean. I was usually the type to stay up on the beach lying in the sand under the glowing yellow sunsoaking up some rays instead of actually going out in the water. I was completely content with my eyes closed listening to the ocean wavesand squawking seagulls reaching that golden tan. On this day the other girls came to me as I chatted with mom in the sand and told me how exciting it was out in the water. I thought to myself You know what, why not go try it out. Throughout all recorded history, the common experience of the pains of love is shared. Perhaps this has contributed to society s desire to produce and consume material that relates to this subject. In particular, one record of lost loverelates these lonely heart woes in a understandable yet intricate way. Frank Sinatras 1955 album, In the Wee Small Hours , shares the lonely emotions that result from lost love. The first track, In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning, seems to set the stage for the main elements found in the rest of the album. Throughout the record, Sinatra displays a sort of obsession with his lost love and with his loneliness. Even the title of the album and the first song lend themselves to this point. Sinatra is consumed by thoughts of your lover even in the wee small hours of the morning, sharing that that s the time you miss her most of all (Sinatra). Amplified by second person pronouns, Sinatra suggests that this describes every soul s experience of loneliness and heart break. In numerous other instances, Sinatra alludes to the lonely obsession with love that follows losing someone. • 34. Child Birth Is The Most Natural Process Essay Child birth is supposed to be the most natural process in the world. However, this does not seem to be the case in America. Child birth has become an industrialised and unpredictable process that is becoming increasingly confined to the sterile walls of a hospital. In America today fewer than two percent of mothers are choosing to give birth at home (Tuteur 1). Home births are frequently being discouraged by medical professionals within the US, and this trend is different from many other developed and non developed countries. In America, the comfort and freedom of one s own home has become a perilous environment for expecting mothers. The causes of this problem are inherently cultural, and statistical trends point to the primary cause being differences in midwives found at homebirths and those in the hospital. Midwives attending homebirths should be better regulated and integrated into the rest of the healthcare system. The American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology published research declaring that within America, babies born outside a hospital were four times likely to experience early death (within seven days after birth), or neonatal death (within 28 days of birth) than babies born within a hospital (Grunebaum, Mcullough et al 3). To put this into context, the Canadian Medical Association Journal concluded the ratio of adverse outcomes in homebirth and hospital birth was equal (Allen 1). The homebirths included in the statistics were planned and thus prepared for,

Henry uses an assortment of figurative language to add character to his story but to also bring in the element of connection with the reader. Figurative language can be described as language that is used to create a special effect on the reader. Authors often used figurative language as a way to interest readers in their story, to persuade or convince their reader of a specific theme they want to convey, or to establish a distinctive writing style. The first example of figurative language in the story The Gift of the Magi is a simile. A simile is a comparison of two unlike things using like or as. Similes can give you sentence some extra flare making it stand out and also they can give you reader a good visual of your story. An example of a simile in The Gift of the Magi is found on pg. 156 where it states, Jim stopped inside the door as immovable as a setter at the scent of a quail. This simile is comparing Jim who is shocked to a setter who has just seen a quail. This simile emphasizes the fact that Jim is surprised because Della cut off her hair. With the simile in the story we as readers can imagine what Jim must have looked like if he was as immovable as a setter at the sight of quail. This element in writing is a vital quality to have if your reader is going to fully comprehend your literature. Another example of figurative language is personification. Personification can be defined as describing an animal, object, or idea of human like qualities.

After being assembled, the green tyre is sprayed with a solvent or water based material to keep it away from adhering to the curing mould. These solvents potentially expose the spray operator, material handler and curing press operator. Curing and Vulcanizing Curing press operators place green tyres into the curing press or onto press loading equipment. An impressive degree of automation was observed at Apollo tyres Kalamassery. The press utilizes steam to heat or cure the green tyre. Rubber curing or vulcanization transforms the tacky and pliable material to a non tacky, less pliable, long lasting
  • 42. Louis Riel Essay Louis Riel is one of the bravest people in Canadian history. Louis was born and raised in what is now known as Winnipeg, Manitoba as a Metis. Riel was also the founder of Manitoba, a politician, and the leader of the Metis during the red river rebellion. The Hudson Bay Company sold Rupert s land to the new Domain of Canada . However, the people living on this land already, which many of them were Metis and the first nation had not been negotiated or confirmed about this. They feared for their culture, and land rights under the control of Canada. This is what sparked the red river rebellion. They created their own government and made Louis Riel their leader. However, because of the execution that Louis Riel was not fully on board with Louis Riel was charged with treason and executed by the Canadian government. Overall, the reason for the red river rebellion was that the Hudson Bay Company did not negotiate with the first nations or the metis before selling Ruperts land to the domain of Canada. This resulted in the Metis and first nations to worry that their culture and language would be lost because they wouldn t get a say in the Canadian government. the Metis with the help of first nation people living in Rupert s land created the rebellion. The rebellions created their own government and made Louis Riel their leader. Their government fought against the Canadian government to be able to keep the land they had been living on for generations, their religion, land rights and their culture. Although, it was mostly the French speaking Metis that worried about their religion and culture because the English Metis were protestant and the Canadian government spoke English as well. • 43. King David Accomplishments Introduction According to the New Living Translation (1996) King David lived halfway between the lives of Abraham and Jesus, in addition to becoming one of the most important leaders for Israel and a man after God s own heart ( 1 Samuel 13:14). David s place of birth was Bethlehem, City of DavidJerusalem where he grew up as a shepherd, but he is better known for his youthful triumph over Goliath, as well as being a poet, musician, soldier, and a king (Holy Bible, NLT, 1996). King David died at the age of seventy after ruling for forty years. King David wrestled with sin, such as adultery, family disorder, and rebellion on a national level, however he also experienced great accomplishments as well. One great achievement was the unification of Israel. Then all the tribes of Israel went to David at Hebron and told him, We are all members of your family. For a long time, even while Saulwas our King, you were the one who really led Israel. And the Lord has told you, You will be the shepherd of my people Israel. You will be their leader (2 Samuel 5:3). It is here that David makes a covenant with the leaders and becomes anointed as the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... David then led his troops to Jerusalem to fight against the Jebusites (2 Samuel 5:6). Jerusalem becomes a historical and archaeological site when David captured the city and made it the capital of Israel. Archaeological evidence was located by a Hebrew University professor Yosef Garfinkel that authenticated the rule of King David. Objects were located in a ruin called Khirbet Qeiyafa, a fortified border city in the Kingdom of Judah adjacent to the Valley of Elah, less than twenty miles southwest of Jerusalem and five miles west of Gush Etzion (Gedalyaha, para 2, 2012). It is here that items such as, pottery, stone, metal tools, art, and ritual objects were located (Gedalyaha, para3,
  • 44. Trash On Campus My first reason for thinking something should be done about the trash on campus is because the trash can hurt animals. I learned on environmentalchemistry.com that discarded fishing lines can trap the legs, wings, or neck of waterfowl such as swans and moorhens. A fishhook may get stuck in a bird s throat. I know there are no fishing lines at our school, and there are no poisons, but the plastic and papers around school could hurt animals big or little. We may not see the animalswhile we are at school, but I think it is best that we try to prevent the harming of animals. Even though we might not leave six pack soda holders on campus, the trash might be blown onto campus. Water birds suffer lead poisoning when they accidentally swallow small lead... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second article I used was from greenlivingideas.com. On that site, I learned that the Pacific Ocean has three garbage patches. The Eastern Garbage Patch, The Western Garbage Patch, and the Subtropical Convergence Zone, which is located in the North Pacific. This is an oceanic mess of an unprecedented degree. Because the billions of pounds of trash are dispersed over so much of the open ocean, it cannot be dragged in, and because it contains so many types of garbage including microplastics that have broken down because of saltwater and sun exposure, some of it cannot even be gathered. And plastic never fully degrades, it just breaks down into a smaller and smaller pieces. According to the EPA, every piece of plastic ever made is still in existence. This quote makes me think that trash has a huge impact on animals and the rest of our world. Even the smallest piece of trash can kill or injure animals badly. I sent out a survey, and two of four people said yes, they noticed even the smallest piece of trash or the least amount of trash can kill an animal, and it was human waste. The quote I used was, No one knows how much debris makes up the Great Pacific Garbage
