Class Inequality And The American Class
A response to Class in America 2009 makes some good points why Americans hate the word
class. Class is a word to classify a group of people to a certain social status. Americans do not like
to be put in a category based off of their money. Gregory Mantsios the author, explains how we
view ourselves. For example, most American citizens identify themselves with work. Mantsios
gives other reasons, and a solution to fix the American class labeling. Mantsios made some
really good points about how Americas view word class, and made me agree with some of his
myth. He also presented a weak solution that would go against our government to fix the
problem of class in America. Class in America by Gregory Mantsios is a profile of class
inequality in today s society in America. He begins by mentioning that people in America, rich or
poor, do not seem to talk about class or class differences. He says that is why classes divide. He
mentions myths most Americans believe that this country is classless, and full of equal
opportunity, and replaces them with realities. These realities are that class inequality is not pretty
bad but getting worse. Emphasized by profiles of citizens of various classes. He concludes that the
main problems are capitalism, racism, and androcentric, and the solution is redistribution of wealth.
Mantsios says, Workers are most likely to identify with their employer, industry, or occupational
group (177). When you ask most people what they do for a living they

Regional Planning And Regional Development Strategies
Regional planning literature, for instance Barca (2009) suggests that there are various strategies
which can be used to stimulate development (regional/national) and these can be categorised into
classes, including inter alia, place neutral and place based development strategies. This paper
however, dwells much on the analysis of the arguments levelled in support of placed based
development strategies as a recipe for regional development, with reference to Zimbabwe s
provinces. By and large, development is a very broad and illusive concept hence there is no
consensus among scholars as to what really constitutes development. Barca (2011) argues that
place based development strategies or mechanisms are partially a response to the perceived
failures of earlier regional development strategies and focus instead on tackling underutilised
economic potential and reducing social exclusion, through supply of integrated goods and services
tailored to local contexts and triggering innovation, which is critical to regional economic growth.
In distinguishing place based development strategies from traditional development strategies,
Barca (2011:221) argues that, place based approaches to regional development put greater
emphasis on arguing that, the well being of each and every individual also depends on the context
in which he or she lives . Critical to note however, is the fact that if regional development is to be
effected in Zimbabwe s provinces, there is need to integrate place

Research Paper On The Harlem Renaissance
The Harlem Renaissance of the New Negro period was a similar period of progressive change.
Many African Americans changed the way in how they saw themselves, where they lived, and most
importantly the way the expressed their culture. The Harlem Renaissance is recognized as one of
the most important and productive periods in the history of American literature, art, and culture.
From the movement came some of the finest music, literature, and art of the twentieth century. The
new negro movement was dated from approximately 1919 to 1935. The big boom happened when
African Americans had migrated from the South for industrial centers such as Pittsburgh and
Detroit and for cities such as Chicago and New York City. Most of the African Americans that

Bp and Stakeholder Mismanagement
Thesis
Poor stakeholder management led to preventable mishaps such as the disasters in Alaska and
Texas. Specifically, BP s defensive approach towards stakeholder management led to lavish
compensation for upper level management while creating hazardous working conditions for
employees and a burden on all of society in the form of rising oil prices and environmental damage.
Background
British Petroleum was founded in 1908 and since then has rapidly grown to become the eighth
largest company in the world . However, as of late, BP has come under fire for several high profile
disasters, including the Texas City refinery explosion and the Prudhoe Bay oil spill.
In 2005, an explosion occurred at BP s refinery at Texas City.... Show more content on

The US Chemical Safety Board stated that there is a solid case for citing some fault on cost cutting
in the Texas City disaster. In fact was BP aggressively cut maintenance investment in their refinery
by 84% between the years 1992 2000 . Additionally BP lacked many company wide safety
standards and left the decision making to plant managers, a position which had a high turnover
rate . Cost cutting was eventually handed down to the employees in the form of a hazardous work
place, with 15 deaths and over 170 others injured in the Texas City explosion.
Stakeholder Snapshot: Society
BP s negligence and lackluster response to the Prudhoe Bay oil spill caused damage to the
surrounding environment and forced a spike in oil prices, drawing intense criticism and scrutiny
from the Federal government and the American public.
BP s handling of the cleanup has raised serious questions about the concern the company has for
the environment. Five months following the accident, 17,000 gallons of crude oil remained to be
drained from the surrounding areas of the pipeline . Following the accident, BP has faced pressure
from the Justice Department, the Environmental Protection Agency, and Congress due to the
environmental damage. Prior to the spill, the company was already being investigated by the EPA
for possible violations of the U.S. Clean Water Act due to pipeline corrosion. It now faces a grand
jury investigation which may lead to

Structure And Form In Sophocles Antigone
Tragedy , then is an imitation of an action that is serious, complete, and of a certain magnitude;
in language embellished with each kind of artistic ornament, the several kinds being found in
separate parts of the play; in the form of action, not of narrative; through pity and fear effecting
the proper purgation of these emotions (Aristotle VI). When one reads a tragedy, a series of
emotions are conducted throughout ones body and those emotions are the connection between
literature and art. If one were to look at a group of seemingly meaningless words manifested on a
piece of paper it would give the thought of confusion, but when the words are naturally streamed
together the sense of unity embraces a beautiful arrangement of parts. The necessity of structure
and form in literature and art are necessary for the success of the work. A piece of fabric will
never become a beautiful dress without the outline therefore, the structure and form give the
literature and art a place to grow and flourish. The needed structure and form allows the focal point
of the piece to be listened to. In Antigone, Sophoclesexercises the soul of a tragedy (Aristotle IV),
plot, by seductively piecing events in an appealing way, chronologically. The chronologic ability in
poetryis essential, however when a plot becomes episodic, acts succeed one another without
probable or necessary sequence (Aristotle IX) it grows foreseeable. In poetry it is not the poet s
responsibility to tell what has

Superhero Cause And Effect
Cause Effect The superhero genre has endured an explosive uprise in media recognition throughout
the last decade. This phenomenon has been governing the box office with an influx of seemingly
implausible success. The idea of a human with stupendous abilities has intrigued civilians across
the globe after the deliverance of comic books in the early 1930s. People are fascinated with these
phenomenal individuals with high aptitudes and unimaginable capabilities, which draws to why
they are popular in societal terms of the present. Superheroes are a favorable manner of the au
courant culture of entertainment. Whether it is due to previous enticement to comic books or

Universally, audiences gather that there tends to be an energizing icon located in the
midsection or the chest, ranging from a cape to a mask and to simply, just a letter. The general
composition of the costume of the hero tends to relay a certain message to readers in relation to
the colors and images in relation to them. These symbols link closely to the experience and
feelings such as love, hate, compassion, anger, etc, and are exceedingly arbitrary to their
specific hero. Superheroes in the present are now what society would have called Greek Gods in
ancient times, the warriors that fight all major battles in the world and venture on treacherous
quests into the wild. After centuries of watching variations of heroes be created and brought to
life through cinematic films, the foundation of a hero has remained a constant symbol of hope.
For individuals with religious affiliations, symbols of hope may include a cross, a book, or other
biblical symbol that enables them to feel safe. Superheroes themselves are a symbol of hope and
optimism to restore peace within a disrupted community. With instituting the occurrence of war
and depression occurring from time to time in history, the massive amounts of panic called for a
distraction. A single human with special abilities that was able to preserve the entire globe from
destruction was a story that no one could overlook. Superheroes were made as a comfort to the

The View that Religion Acts as a Conservative Force on...
The View that Religion Acts as a Conservative Force on Society Even though sociologists do not
have a true definition of religion they believe that religion is a belief in the supernatural. Some
sociologists believe that religion acts as a conservative force. A conservative force is something
that prevents change within society and also maintains the status quo. Functionalist believes that
religion is a conservative force. Durkhiem believes that everybody shares the same beliefs and
values that are represented by sacred symbols. Durkhiem would argue that religion acts as a

Malinowski a functionalist focuses on the psychological needs of individuals in times of stress.
Malinowski believes religion provides people with meanings in times of life crisis for example
death and funerals. Things such as funerals allow people to move on and minimise the
disruption to society. He argues that the idea of heaven provides people with a meaning of life.
This maintains the status quo as it allows people to get on with day to day life. Malinowski did a
study of the Troiband Island and he argued people use religion in times of uncertainty. He found
that when the people of the island went to out to fish they felt safe when they fished in the
lagoon they felt safe as they was close to home, However when they went to fish out in the sea
where the survival rate was low they would pray to god to keep them safe. This shows that
religion is a conservative force as it maintains the status quo because it allows people to forget their
problems and carry on with their every day life. Parsons another functionalist would ague that
religion provides answers to question that appear to be unanswerable, for example when villains

The Sin Of Intellect Vs. The Sin Of Passion
The Sin of Intellect vs. The Sin of Passion Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote, The Scarlet Letter, an
American novel that follows the events of a young woman, Hester Prynne, who is living in 1640
s Boston, Massachusetts. Because she committed adultery she is punished by the puritanical town
she resides in by wearing a scarlet letter A on her chest forever. Throughout the novel, Hester s
husband, Roger Chillingworth, strives to discover the identity of the father who is the beloved
minister, Arthur Dimmesdale. Chillingworth s mission for discovery and revenge causes him to
commit the sin of intellect which affects the people surrounding him. Hester is constantly
emotionally distressed from Chillingworth s sin, but is rewarded from her sin of passion. The
physical and mental state of Dimmsdale is ruined by the sin of intelligence, but also partially by
the sin of passion. Not intentionally, Chillingworth s sin of intellect affects him the most by
changing him morally, physically, and mentally. The effects that the sin of intellect causes are far
worse in contrast to the sin of passion. Major changes in Hester s emotional state, Dimmesdale s
severe health reduction, and Chillingworth s drastic shift in character are reasons why the sin of
intellect overpowers sin of passion in the severity of the sin. To begin, Chillingworth s sin of
passion is constantly emotionally stressing for Hester, but the sin of passion leads to her ultimate
happiness. The greatest result of the sin of

Women s Electoral Lobby (WEL)
In 1975, Pat O Hara and three other feminists formed the Women s Electoral Lobby (WEL),
determined to achieve a refuge for women fleeing domestic violence. Believing shelters
encouraged divorce, the Bjelke Petersen regime funded only two statewide. Faced with an uphill
battle against an obstinate Premier and a naive public, WEL appointed Pat, the already well
known Social Correspondent for the Cairns Post, as spokesperson. I wrote letters to people,
articles for the paper, and after attending Toastmasters to learn public speaking, I spoke to any
group that would listen to me. After two years of effort, the group gained funding for Ruth s

I resigned from the shelter committee in 1985 and for the next five years devoted myself
entirely to pushing for gay law reform. Supported by husband John, himself a founding member
of CHISC, and John Gould, a local businessman also supportive of WEL, Pat leapt into the fray.
Taking great pride in her part in establishing QAGLR, Pat remembered her and Ted publishing
Queensland Gay Action News and lobbying politicians, and then when Ted moved south and the
branch there took over lobbying, she kept the issue alive at home. Eventually, funds raised from
the Saturday night CHISC parties supported a shop in Rusty s Market, which provided
information about AIDS and with a nurse in attendance to provide advice, testing and
counselling. Wanting to change not just laws, but also attitudes, Pat used her popularity as a
guest speaker to raise the subject of equality wherever she spoke, and convinced many previously
unconcerned locals of the injustices faced by gays and lesbians. I was angry. We are all equal. We
should all be treated equally. You cannot simply judge a person based on their

The Effect Of Antioxidants On The Body, And Inadequate...
Participating in cellular processes related to energetic metabolism, antioxidant defense, immune
response, tissue and muscle repair, and bone health, vitamins adequate consumption is important for
the maintenance of several metabolic functions in the body, and inadequate intake of vitamins
leads to nutritional deficiencies. Present in food, vitamins are organic compounds that should be
present in our daily meal; there are several sorts of essential vitamins, such as vitamins A, C, D, E,
K and B, however most humans cannot produce them in sufficient quantities, or may not produce.
The lack of vitamins may cause diseases or disorders, and when in excess may cause poisoning.
Therefore, the diet should always be balanced and varied.
Classification of vitamins is made only by their solubility and not by the position they occupy.
Each is responsible for a specific function, regardless of the group they belong to. Thus, the group
of fat soluble vitamins includes: Vitamin A Important oxidant that protects cells against free
radicals, it main sources are fruits and strong colored vegetables such as carrots, squash, broccoli
and spinach and yellow animal fat foods like liver, eggs and milk; Vitamin D It is synthesized with
the help of sunlight and essential for the production of insulin and maintaining the immune system,
helps with calcium absorption, it main sources are fatty fish like tuna and salmon; Vitamin K 13

Theme Of War In A Separate Peace
The beginning of a friendship is the beginning of keenness, jealousy, and often times hatred. One
may become naive in the course of friendship and never realize by the end that a friend may
become an enemy. In A Separate Peace by John Knowles this is just the case, a friendship that
consists of two complete polar opposites, Gene and Finny, one athletic the other a brainiac. Gene
and Finny go to Devon School and through thick and thin these two have stuck together, however
during the summer into junior year their relationship hits some turbulence. John Knowlesembodies
the reality of warwithin the relationship of Gene and Finny, as well as, how the fear of war,
surroundings of war, and violence can affect several relationships.

Gene states, ...never before experienced a student who combined a calm ignorance of the rules

a blurred line between what was good and what was meant to be good, but ended with major
consequences. Knowles here draws a point that conflicts in oneself can affect what is occurring
externally, because of ignorance the consequences extended beyond reach.
Furthermore, Gene does not simply see Finny as a friend but a partner in crime. Finny trapped me
again in his strongest trap, that is, I suddenly became his collaborator ( Knowles 1959). Gene and
Finny are allies, it is them against the rest of the world, Knowles is highlighting the fact that
although these two are friends Finny can manipulate Gene in any which way he chooses making
them moreso enemies. Gene is blinded by Finny s wit and charming manner, but the surroundings
in Devon have an equally heavy effect on their relationship. ii. Devon School is surrounded by

Relationship Between Jack And Ralph In Lord Of The Flies
In William Golding s Lord of the Flies, a compelling topic is the dynamic between Ralph, Piggy,
and Jack. They all want to assert themselves as leader, and because they cannot, clashes between all
three characters can be seen instantly.
At the beginning of the novel, Ralph and Piggy seem to be the only people on the island. Ralph
does not show much interest in Piggy, but Piggy sees it as imperative that they get to know each
other and find out if anyone else is on the island. Right away, Piggy s brains and common sense
are exhibited. Ralph passively blows a conch they found, not with a meeting in mind but because it
sounds cool. Even though Piggy had the idea of meeting, Ralph is automatically seen by everyone
who comes as their leader simply because he blew the conch. This suggests that humans select their
leaders based on who brought them together. Jack then comes to the assembly, already with the
leadership role of head of the choir, and assumes he should be the leader of the entire group of
boys. After a vote for leader between Ralph and Jack, Ralph is elected. No one ever even
considers Piggy to be a candidate, even though he had the idea for an assembly and was the most
passionate about setting up order on the island.
Before discussing the dynamics between these characters, it must be understood what what shaped
their personalities in the first place. Trying situations force people to show their true selves.
Throughout first nine chapters, the three boys focus on

Henequen Wheat Complex Analysis
Walking along the aisles of a local home improvement store or even farm, many would not think or
even be aware of twine s vast history in shaping the world around us. However, to a historian much
is known about this commodity and its relation to the henequen wheat complex as well as its effects
on sustainability, economics, and society in both North America and Mexicoas described in Sterling
Evan s novel, Bound in Twine. Not only did the henequen wheat complex itself play a significant
role in influencing many aspects within the two regions, but it had numerous benefits and
disadvantages that ultimately changed the history and lives of many affected by its development,
particularly those in Yucatan.

With the increased desire to produce larger amounts on henequen in the Yucatan to support its
monocrop economy, the complex consequently permanently altered the landscape and overall
environment of the state. As mentioned previously, prior to the development of the henequen
complex, the area could be described as a varied landscape on the remarkably flat Yucatan terrain.
However, the Yucatan later bear more resemblance to a patchwork of haciendas, so much so that
with the boom in henequen at the end of the century, haciendas and even the much venerated cattle
ranches were converted to plantations. Thus, the henequen wheat complex played a significant role
in permanently transforming the once diverse ecosystem of the Yucatan into a uniform landscape
solely dedicated to the harvesting of one crop, the henequen. In addition to these environmental
alterations, this complex as well as the established monocrop economy introduced deforestation and
subsequent erosion that would ultimately cause the ecological improvishment of the henequen
zone in which it was economically benefiting from. However, to others the henequen wheat
complex can be considered a sustainable model since after the severe decline of henequen
production following the 1980 s, Yucatan experienced much ecological improvement. Remarkably,

Strategic Customer Management And Solutions
For strategic customer management and solutions selling, a firm s entire core processes need to be
aligned and working collaboratively to create and deliver value to both the customer and the firm
as a whole.
Within Avaya marketing and sales are very separate functions with each focused on their own tasks
and objectives. This is evident from the funnels which are completely separate and identify no
overlap between the functions. It appears that each team has developed processes in isolation,
meaning that there is no alignment or collaboration between the groups.
One of the key hurdles standing in the way of effective demand generation is the leads generation
process. The case study highlights that the prospects from the marketing team were viewed in terms
of a set of criteria, however this criteria appears to be set by the marketing team and varied greatly
across different markets. This is in contract to the leads generated by the sales team who spent a lot
of time upfront assessing the attractiveness of an opportunity by really understanding the prospect
company, their interest level and how Avaya could provide a solution. This gap between the lead
qualification process results in the sales team spending considerable time requalifying any leads
from the marketing team to understand what the customers problem is and what an Avaya solution
would look like (this is not an efficient use of their time). In order to make strategic choices about
your customers, all relevant teams

A majority of people tend to object to exercise during the adolescent years because the individual
is in the early stages of life where they are not fully developed. Exercise is not simply made for
its look good, feel good sensation that it provides; it is positively correlated to longer life
expectancies, which we associate to healthy lives. One of the most important businesses to help out
with exerciseare the healthclubs that are increasing in popularity as time goes on. The gym industry

lifting weights has on the brain, as it does the muscles of the body, in order to demonstrate that

The War in Vietnam Essay
The War in Vietnam
Why did the USA become increasingly involved in The war in Vietnam?
In 1950, the USA was obsessed with stopping communism from spreading in South East Asia.
Every one was anti communist in the USA and they were very worried about the domino theory.
The domino theory was a 20th Century foreign policy theory that speculated if one land in a region
came under the influence of communists, then more would follow in a domino effect. The domino
effect says that some small change will cause another change nearby, which then will cause another
change, and so on, to a falling row of dominos.

Ho Chi Minh argued that the opposition forces in South Vietnamshould concentrate on organising

In 1959, Ho Chi Minh sent his adviser, to visit South Vietnam. He returned to tell Ho Chi Minh that

Ho Chi Minh agreed to supply the guerrilla units with aid. He encouraged the different armed

Examples Of Proactive Personality Construct
The proactive personality construct was introduced by Bateman and Crant (1993) who defined it as
a relatively stable tendency to effect environmental change (p. 107). Since that time proactive
personality has emerged as a heuristic construct in organizational settings, showing significant
relationships with such variables as job performance, career success, and leadership quality (e.g.,
Crant Bateman, 2000; Crant, 1995; Seibert et al., 1999; Thompson, 2005).
Proactive personality is most frequently measured by Bateman and Crant s (1993) scale. The
internal consistency of this scale ranged from .83 to .89 across three college student samples. The
construct validity of Bateman and Crant s (1993) 17 item proactive personality scale was tested in
relation to other personality constructs, such as conscientiousness (r = .43,p .01) and social
desirability (r = .004,n.s.). In order to test for criterion validity, Bateman and Crant (1993)

Responding to abusive detention of persons without legal authority, public pressure on caused the

Scripture And Cosmogony
The Sacred Scripture and Cosmogony of Islam and Christianity In every religion around the world,
there are very important scriptures and beliefs on how the universe came into being. Christianity
and Islam are no different than any other religion in those aspects. They have similar thoughts on
things in the sacred scriptures they have, and they also have opposing views. Also, these two
religions have different views on the creation of the universe, both of these topics will be discussed
here. It is important to understand the views on the following topics by these two religions for a
number of reasons. Christianityand Islamare the two largest religions in the world, with

Much of the New Testament talks about the life of Jesus, and these books were written by Jesus
disciples. The original texts that made up the Bible are gone or lost, and have been copied various
times to preserve the teachings. The Bible is broken down in ways like the Qur an. First, it is broke
into two Testaments , one is called the Old Testament, which was originally written in Hebrew.
The Old Testament talks about the creation of the world to the laws a person should follow. The
second half is called the New Testament, was written in Greek, and much of this talks about the
life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It also has letters written by leaders of the early church
(Geoghegan, 14), and also has the end of the time prophecies. In each of the Testaments there are
books (think of the chapters of a novel), here are a total of 66 books in the Bible that we have
today, in each book there are also verses like in the Qur an. The contemporary expression of the
Christian Bible is just as import as the Qur an for a Muslim. There are a few slight differences
though. Many people go to church to praise and worship God and a pastor gives a lecture about
a subject in the Bible, Muslims would read a passage from the Qur an and then explain how it
applies to their lives. A Christian could (and does) do this, but typically it isn t as rigid of a
structure. However, there are many different branches of Christianity from Baptist to Catholic, and
they each have

Tokugawa Iemitsu Research Paper
History is an important aspect in the community as it assists people to understand the past and
learn about the growth and development of a civilization or an individual. Studying the
historical events gives an understanding of how this world came to be, including the different
cultures of people and the surroundings. For instance, Shogunate Japan was a significant
historic event. This is because for 250 years, the Tokugawa period brought peace and order in
Japan, it aided to enrich and preserve Japan s culture as seen present today. Shoguns were Japan s
military leaders who were given the title by the emperors. For over 200 years, Japan was ruled by a
series of Tokugawa shoguns, which began in 1603 and ended in 1867. During the Tokugawa
period, also known as The Edo period, many cultures and traditions were developed. Men and
women from all social classes engaged in the traditional arts of music, painting, calligraphy and
poetic forms called haiku. A famous individual known for this period is Tokugawa Iemitsu. He was
the third Shogun of the Tokugawa dynasty and is well known for introducing the period of

Complications Of Engineering And Engineering
In almost any quantitative field of research (as well as in applied science), the researcher (or,
e.g., engineer or economist) frequently needs to fit a parametrized function to observed data. In
some cases to make interpolations or extrapolations; the engineer may be interested in values
between expensive measurement points, and the economist may be interested in giving a
prognosis for the future. In other cases, the parameters ( removed HTML ) themselves ( removed

nuclear reactions yielding a particular reaction product; this is an example we will return to

Everything is presented in general terms, allowing for any type of data covariance matrix, i.e.,
not only to uncorrelated observations. ( removed HTML ) ( removed HTML ) It is often fruitful
to adopt a Bayesian view, in which the parameters of the fitting function can have a prior
distribution (prior to observing the data), and from fitting, the posterior distribution is obtained.
Informally stated, we have an idea about some of the parameters before observing the data (see
Sec. ( removed HTML ) I A ( removed HTML ) for an illuminating example), and we wish to
include this knowledge in our final estimate of the parameters and/or the fitted function. It is a
standard procedure to incorporate such a prior distribution in linear least squares, and it can be
included in the LM algorithm by, formally, treating the prior information as an additional set of
data. In this work, however, it is clearly presented how the data and the prior information can be
separated by exploiting the structure of the involved matrices and vectors, see Sec. ( removed

enough that models often are non linear; even worse, they are often (not to say always) (

impossible to reproduce the truth which is lying behind the observed data. We call this a model
defect. Model defects can

Hypocritical Nature Of Claudius s Soliloquy
Upon observation, it seems Claudius soliloquy reveals another perspective to the audience. Instead
of the cold and heartless impressions created by Hamlet, Claudius appears vulnerable and uncertain,
evidently worried about his consequences of the murder of Old Hamlet. However, in truth, this
soliloquy reveals his hypocritical nature as he searches for forgiveness, raising questions concerning
his sincerity of his speech and desires. Firstly, Claudius understands the magnitude of his atrocity,
comparing it to the primal eldest curse (41), which is Cain s murder of Abel. Shakespeare uses this
allusion to embellish the severity of this murder, creating an impression that the murder is
comparable to the first and most unanticipated bloodshed

Essay about U.S. Economy
The United States economy is currently not looking very good. Over the past couple of months
the economy has taken a turn for the worst and we could be headed into a recession in the coming
months or years. The biggest problems are in the real estate and mortgage markets. In 1999,
housing prices rose at huge rates and lenders began offering riskier mortgages, which caused
homeowners to keep piling up huge debts. People were taking out loans and balloon mortgage
payments that they really could not afford. The problem began in late 2007, when housing prices
began to fall and the system fell apart causing huge numbers of defaults on home loans and
foreclosures. Currently, 5.6% of mortgages are delinquent, the highest rate in 21 years, and... Show

The housing crisis that I mentioned earlier and resulting backlash through the entire economy
has been building for awhile now but it has just came into the forefront in the past couple of
weeks. We really haven t faced a downturn like this since the Depression. Last Tuesday, January
22, the Dow Jones industrial average fell almost 600 points and was already down 9% in 2008
(Gross 1). Immediately the Federal Reserve took action and cut the interest rates three quarters
of a percentage point, the biggest cut in 24 years. Today, not even a week later, the Fed again
cut interest rates, this time by a half point (Aversa 1). This move is an effort to keep the
economy out of a recession by getting money back into the banks and encouraging them to keep
lending credit to turn the economy upward. Whether or not it will work remains to be seen in
the coming months. The government also announced another move to a couple weeks ago to
help get the economy going again and avoid or slow down a recession. President Bush and the
House are currently developing a $145 billion stimulus plan that would give tax relief to citizens
by sending them individual checks for $300 and up. The plan would put over $100 billion into the
hands of consumers and the government hopes that money would be spent and put back into the
economy (Wolf 1). While all these things are good news for the struggling economy, most
economic experts believe that a recession of some kind may be impossible to avoid

The Adventures of Ibn Battuta by Ross E. Dunn
The book I chose to read for this summer assignment was The Adventures of Ibn Battuta (Revised
edition) written by Ross E. Dunn. The predominant reason as to why I chose this book is because
I am Moroccan descent and I had a strong desire to learn more about the rich cultures of the Arab
world. I once read that those who had the last name Bencomo, which was orginally from the Canary
Islands and written as Tehncomo were descendents of the Islamic traveler, Ibn Battuta. This sparked
even more curiosity to learn about my ancestor s history. I heard stories from my grandmother
about the Moors since her father was half Moroccan. I knew I had to learn about this since this is
a part of who I am.
This book mainly narrates the adventures and travels of a 14th century Muslim scholar, native of
Tangier who studied law but dreamed of traveling and seeing different perspectives of the world.
Ibn is described by many as the Marco Polo of the Muslim world. Ibn traveled by all means
possible during his time period, horse, camel, boat, foot, and boat for approximately 29 years.
The area he covered would now be the equivalent to 40 modern countries and 73,000 miles.
Quotes I found most interesting were A scholar s education is greatly improved by traveling in
quest of knowledge and meeting the authoritative teachers (of his time). by Ibn Khaldun pg. 27.
This was quite inspiring because it shows that with an open mind and many travels you can age

Analysis Of Boeing And Lockheed Martin
There are a multitude of aerospace manufactures in the business of building airplanes worldwide
such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin. In order to become a global leader in an ultra competitive
market, such as the aerospace industry, Boeing implements cost reducing initiatives such as lean
manufacturing practices. In order to build a complex item such as an airplane on time and on
budget, a manufacture will require a competent supply chain managementsystem to ensure all the
needed parts are available to the builders. Implementing technology such as automated equipment to
assist in the reduction of human errors and fatigue will reduces costs associated with rework caused
by human error mistakes.
History and background of the organization, also including the types of goods sold and industry in
which the organization operates. The remarkable Boeing Company was founded in the summer of
1916 by the illustrious William E. Boeing. William Boeing built the foundation of the company on
acts and truths rather than assumptions and guesses (Boeing, 2016b). Utilizing facts such as
measuring process times to complete a manufacturing process enables a business to benchmark its
production efficiency. Utilizing a single factor productivity formula is a simple and effective tool
which measures productivity by dividing the number of units produced by the number of labor
hours used to complete the task (Heizer Render, 2014).

The Use Of Improper Writing Techniques For Writing
As a student, I am aware of my susceptibility to many forms of improper writing techniques that
hinder my ability to produce a well written paper. While I was aware of most of these incorrect
practices, I found myself unfamiliar with many ideas covered in the preliminary chapters of Who
Says? The Writer s Research. Prior to reading chapters 1, 3, 4, and 9, I had never acknowledged the
concept of information literacy and all of its various components. Admittedly, I had previously
regarded literacy as the ability to read and write, and never thought it could be a method of
interpreting information. Furthermore, I found the many ways in which plagiarism is manifested
into a writingvery interesting, as I had never been aware of other forms of plagiarism besides
copying a text word for word. While I found these ideas to be of tremendous value, I found the
most efficient way to create a thesis the most helpful, as I usually struggle with crafting a singular
idea when I am producing an essay. With these tools for writing, I will now be able to act
preemptively to ensure a superior essay. Chapter one introduces information literacy a concept I
found notable. Information literacy is defined as the ability to know when there is a need for
information, to be able to identify, locate, evaluate, and effectively use that information for the
issue or problem at hand (infolit.org, United States Government (Holdstein 3) Furthermore, I found

that Microsoft had taken over the internet browser competition and limited consumer choice. In
view of antitrust regulation in the US and EU, and increasing competition in the desktop software

recognizing the emerging business opportunities introduced by the new internet era ( Web 2.0 ),
Microsoft began to reinvent itself. It wanted to extend its software products into web based

Microsoft had entered various new markets in which it has no propriety advantages with it s new

Like so many people, Brent Staples was judged based on ethnicity and gender. Brent Staples, an
African American man, has been mistaken for a criminal countless times because of his race.
The first time this happened, he scared a young white women when he turned the corner at
night, and she ran off, convinced that he was a mugger, a rapist, or worse. Brent shares
instances of people locking their car doors or crossing the street when he walked by, but he says
he can t blame them, as young black males are drastically overrepresented among the perpetrators
of... violence. He discusses his childhood in Chester, Pennsylvania where there is gang warfare,
street knifings, and murders that many of his friends and family have gone to prison or been
killed over. He mentions two extreme situations in which he is mistaken for a burglar and tells the
story of a journalist mistaken for the killer he was reporting on. Brent Staples makes it clear that
these occurrences are continuous and common, and so he has had to make changes to
accommodate for these terrified white peoplein public places by, for example, whistling classic
music at night. The point he is trying to make with this article is that Caucasians have some
common misconceptions about African Americans, often assuming they are all criminals, even

Persuasive Essay Against Gun Violence
GUN VIOLENCE IN THE US
Against The Violence of Guns
In today s society, so many people have hidden guns in their homes, whether it s for protection or
for hunting or any reason and some of these people turn up in the news because their children
somehow got to their gun. News all over the United States cover cases where bullied children or
misunderstood children walk into a school with loaded guns and knowing exactly how to operate
them and have the heart to kill many of their classmates. Often the case, the parents of these young
children had no idea these children even knew where their guns were. In other cases, it is very
easy to find a place where you can purchase a gun without state permit nor prior registration,
facilitating the purchase of these guns. All over the world, guns are as simple to find as gum,
and keeping one around your home is as safe as it is dangerous because it isn t about who has a
gun, its about what they can do with it. Although everyone s reason for owning guns is for safety
only, there are different methods of protection that are safer than having a gun that can cause more
damage than safety, and also many reasons not to own one at all.
Throughout US History, there has been many amendments put in place that have put peoples lives
in danger. The 2nd amendment talks about how people have the right to keep a gun in their house
for a security reasons. This amendment gave way for the militias, who are groups of people who

ratio of the culmination of national data; this is an excellent method to track the progress in the
goal of reducing and eventually eradicating HAIs. The report for the state of Kentucky on HAIs in
the state s acute care hospitals was based on information received from a total of 116 hospitals that
provided data for this survey. Unfortunately, the incidence of reported HAIs associated with
Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), a type of laboratory identified hospital onset
bloodstream infection, is extremely high. Kentucky s reported incidences in 2014 of patients
infected with MRSA while being treated in acute care hospitals is 25% higher than the national

Grenada. On an international level the U.S. was not fairing so well. Europeans were not at all
happy with Reagan s self absorbed decision. Leaders across the world were alarmed as well as
embarrasses that President Reagan would take such a drastic action after consulting with only one
partner, Britain. In fact Britain was involved in the situation only to be ignored. Margaret Thatcher
advised President Reagan to lay low in the situation, that military action seemed unwarranted. He
did not listen.

The Death Of The Barn
I can still remember the day that my dad made a dream of mine come true. One night my family
was sitting down for supper when my dad said, Oh, and by the way Sarah you can have a goat this
summer. At that point I just looked my dad and laughed. I thought he was joking, I had been asking
for a goat for about three years. He had proclaimed multiple times throughout my childhood that I
would not be getting a goatanytime soon. I guess my time had come. Within a few mouths it was
May, I had set up a wired pen for my goat and could barely contain my excitement as we went to go
pick up my goat.
My dad and I arrived at the place to pick up my goat. The goat lived in a red barn on an anchorage
with a nice middle aged man named Blaine. Blaine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That day I discovered that goats are very stubborn animals. For five minutes I dragged him around
until I forced him back to his pen. Little did I know that more frustrating times would come with
raising Beans as my show goat.
As time passed and the days grew warmer and longer, Beans and I became better friends. He
would let me pet him when he was in his pen, but when I tried to enter or leave his pen he would
attempt to get out. He never really succeeded until one humid afternoon.
I was feeding Beans and had left the pen to retrieve his ice cold water from the hydrant near the
hog barn. After getting the water I went back to his pen and poured it in the trough. Once I had
finished, I opened the gate, stepped out and tried to get the clunky five gallon pail through the
gate. Instead of getting the pail out, Beans ran out as fast as a cheetah chasing a gazelle. I chased
Beans all over the farm. We weaved in and out of the equipment that had been dormant because
planted season had ended months ago. I ran all over the green knee high tall oat plants in the field,
when Beans made the fatal mistake of running in the inside of the green old rake.
The rake is rectangle shaped with one side open and the other side closed off by a wall of rake
spikes. The rake s butt end rested on the ground, preventing Beans from crawling out. Very
carefully I approach Beans. The last thing I need is him dodging me and running away again. I
reached Beans and picked him up.

  • 2. Class Inequality And The American Class A response to Class in America 2009 makes some good points why Americans hate the word class. Class is a word to classify a group of people to a certain social status. Americans do not like to be put in a category based off of their money. Gregory Mantsios the author, explains how we view ourselves. For example, most American citizens identify themselves with work. Mantsios gives other reasons, and a solution to fix the American class labeling. Mantsios made some really good points about how Americas view word class, and made me agree with some of his myth. He also presented a weak solution that would go against our government to fix the problem of class in America. Class in America by Gregory Mantsios is a profile of class inequality in today s society in America. He begins by mentioning that people in America, rich or poor, do not seem to talk about class or class differences. He says that is why classes divide. He mentions myths most Americans believe that this country is classless, and full of equal opportunity, and replaces them with realities. These realities are that class inequality is not pretty bad but getting worse. Emphasized by profiles of citizens of various classes. He concludes that the main problems are capitalism, racism, and androcentric, and the solution is redistribution of wealth. Mantsios says, Workers are most likely to identify with their employer, industry, or occupational group (177). When you ask most people what they do for a living they ... • 3. Regional Planning And Regional Development Strategies Regional planning literature, for instance Barca (2009) suggests that there are various strategies which can be used to stimulate development (regional/national) and these can be categorised into classes, including inter alia, place neutral and place based development strategies. This paper however, dwells much on the analysis of the arguments levelled in support of placed based development strategies as a recipe for regional development, with reference to Zimbabwe s provinces. By and large, development is a very broad and illusive concept hence there is no consensus among scholars as to what really constitutes development. Barca (2011) argues that place based development strategies or mechanisms are partially a response to the perceived failures of earlier regional development strategies and focus instead on tackling underutilised economic potential and reducing social exclusion, through supply of integrated goods and services tailored to local contexts and triggering innovation, which is critical to regional economic growth. In distinguishing place based development strategies from traditional development strategies, Barca (2011:221) argues that, place based approaches to regional development put greater emphasis on arguing that, the well being of each and every individual also depends on the context in which he or she lives . Critical to note however, is the fact that if regional development is to be effected in Zimbabwe s provinces, there is need to integrate place ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many African Americans changed the way in how they saw themselves, where they lived, and most importantly the way the expressed their culture. The Harlem Renaissance is recognized as one of the most important and productive periods in the history of American literature, art, and culture. From the movement came some of the finest music, literature, and art of the twentieth century. The new negro movement was dated from approximately 1919 to 1935. The big boom happened when African Americans had migrated from the South for industrial centers such as Pittsburgh and Detroit and for cities such as Chicago and New York City. • 5. Bp and Stakeholder Mismanagement Thesis Poor stakeholder management led to preventable mishaps such as the disasters in Alaska and Texas. Specifically, BP s defensive approach towards stakeholder management led to lavish compensation for upper level management while creating hazardous working conditions for employees and a burden on all of society in the form of rising oil prices and environmental damage. Background British Petroleum was founded in 1908 and since then has rapidly grown to become the eighth largest company in the world . However, as of late, BP has come under fire for several high profile disasters, including the Texas City refinery explosion and the Prudhoe Bay oil spill. In 2005, an explosion occurred at BP s refinery at Texas City.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The US Chemical Safety Board stated that there is a solid case for citing some fault on cost cutting in the Texas City disaster. In fact was BP aggressively cut maintenance investment in their refinery by 84% between the years 1992 2000 . Additionally BP lacked many company wide safety standards and left the decision making to plant managers, a position which had a high turnover rate . Cost cutting was eventually handed down to the employees in the form of a hazardous work place, with 15 deaths and over 170 others injured in the Texas City explosion. Stakeholder Snapshot: Society BP s negligence and lackluster response to the Prudhoe Bay oil spill caused damage to the surrounding environment and forced a spike in oil prices, drawing intense criticism and scrutiny from the Federal government and the American public. BP s handling of the cleanup has raised serious questions about the concern the company has for the environment. Five months following the accident, 17,000 gallons of crude oil remained to be drained from the surrounding areas of the pipeline . Following the accident, BP has faced pressure from the Justice Department, the Environmental Protection Agency, and Congress due to the environmental damage. Prior to the spill, the company was already being investigated by the EPA for possible violations of the U.S. Clean Water Act due to pipeline corrosion. It now faces a grand jury investigation which may lead to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Structure And Form In Sophocles Antigone Tragedy , then is an imitation of an action that is serious, complete, and of a certain magnitude; in language embellished with each kind of artistic ornament, the several kinds being found in separate parts of the play; in the form of action, not of narrative; through pity and fear effecting the proper purgation of these emotions (Aristotle VI). When one reads a tragedy, a series of emotions are conducted throughout ones body and those emotions are the connection between literature and art. If one were to look at a group of seemingly meaningless words manifested on a piece of paper it would give the thought of confusion, but when the words are naturally streamed together the sense of unity embraces a beautiful arrangement of parts. The necessity of structure and form in literature and art are necessary for the success of the work. A piece of fabric will never become a beautiful dress without the outline therefore, the structure and form give the literature and art a place to grow and flourish. The needed structure and form allows the focal point of the piece to be listened to. In Antigone, Sophoclesexercises the soul of a tragedy (Aristotle IV), plot, by seductively piecing events in an appealing way, chronologically. The chronologic ability in poetryis essential, however when a plot becomes episodic, acts succeed one another without probable or necessary sequence (Aristotle IX) it grows foreseeable. In poetry it is not the poet s responsibility to tell what has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This phenomenon has been governing the box office with an influx of seemingly implausible success. The idea of a human with stupendous abilities has intrigued civilians across the globe after the deliverance of comic books in the early 1930s. People are fascinated with these phenomenal individuals with high aptitudes and unimaginable capabilities, which draws to why they are popular in societal terms of the present. Superheroes are a favorable manner of the au courant culture of entertainment. Universally, audiences gather that there tends to be an energizing icon located in the midsection or the chest, ranging from a cape to a mask and to simply, just a letter. The general composition of the costume of the hero tends to relay a certain message to readers in relation to the colors and images in relation to them. These symbols link closely to the experience and feelings such as love, hate, compassion, anger, etc, and are exceedingly arbitrary to their specific hero. Superheroes in the present are now what society would have called Greek Gods in ancient times, the warriors that fight all major battles in the world and venture on treacherous quests into the wild. After centuries of watching variations of heroes be created and brought to life through cinematic films, the foundation of a hero has remained a constant symbol of hope. For individuals with religious affiliations, symbols of hope may include a cross, a book, or other biblical symbol that enables them to feel safe. Superheroes themselves are a symbol of hope and optimism to restore peace within a disrupted community. With instituting the occurrence of war and depression occurring from time to time in history, the massive amounts of panic called for a distraction. A single human with special abilities that was able to preserve the entire globe from destruction was a story that no one could overlook. The View that Religion Acts as a Conservative Force on Society Even though sociologists do not have a true definition of religion they believe that religion is a belief in the supernatural. Some sociologists believe that religion acts as a conservative force. A conservative force is something that prevents change within society and also maintains the status quo. Functionalist believes that religion is a conservative force. Durkhiem believes that everybody shares the same beliefs and values that are represented by sacred symbols. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Malinowski a functionalist focuses on the psychological needs of individuals in times of stress. Malinowski believes religion provides people with meanings in times of life crisis for example death and funerals. Things such as funerals allow people to move on and minimise the disruption to society. He argues that the idea of heaven provides people with a meaning of life. This maintains the status quo as it allows people to get on with day to day life. Malinowski did a study of the Troiband Island and he argued people use religion in times of uncertainty. • 9. The Sin Of Intellect Vs. The Sin Of Passion The Sin of Intellect vs. The Sin of Passion Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote, The Scarlet Letter, an American novel that follows the events of a young woman, Hester Prynne, who is living in 1640 s Boston, Massachusetts. Because she committed adultery she is punished by the puritanical town she resides in by wearing a scarlet letter A on her chest forever. Throughout the novel, Hester s husband, Roger Chillingworth, strives to discover the identity of the father who is the beloved minister, Arthur Dimmesdale. Chillingworth s mission for discovery and revenge causes him to commit the sin of intellect which affects the people surrounding him. Hester is constantly emotionally distressed from Chillingworth s sin, but is rewarded from her sin of passion. The physical and mental state of Dimmsdale is ruined by the sin of intelligence, but also partially by the sin of passion. Not intentionally, Chillingworth s sin of intellect affects him the most by changing him morally, physically, and mentally. The effects that the sin of intellect causes are far worse in contrast to the sin of passion. Major changes in Hester s emotional state, Dimmesdale s severe health reduction, and Chillingworth s drastic shift in character are reasons why the sin of intellect overpowers sin of passion in the severity of the sin. To begin, Chillingworth s sin of passion is constantly emotionally stressing for Hester, but the sin of passion leads to her ultimate happiness. The greatest result of the sin of ... Participating in cellular processes related to energetic metabolism, antioxidant defense, immune response, tissue and muscle repair, and bone health, vitamins adequate consumption is important for the maintenance of several metabolic functions in the body, and inadequate intake of vitamins leads to nutritional deficiencies. Present in food, vitamins are organic compounds that should be present in our daily meal; there are several sorts of essential vitamins, such as vitamins A, C, D, E, K and B, however most humans cannot produce them in sufficient quantities, or may not produce. Thus, the group of fat soluble vitamins includes: Vitamin A Important oxidant that protects cells against free radicals, it main sources are fruits and strong colored vegetables such as carrots, squash, broccoli and spinach and yellow animal fat foods like liver, eggs and milk; Vitamin D It is synthesized with the help of sunlight and essential for the production of insulin and maintaining the immune system, helps with calcium absorption, it main sources are fatty fish like tuna and salmon; Vitamin K 13 Component in the formation of proteins essential for blood ... They all want to assert themselves as leader, and because they cannot, clashes between all three characters can be seen instantly. At the beginning of the novel, Ralph and Piggy seem to be the only people on the island. Ralph does not show much interest in Piggy, but Piggy sees it as imperative that they get to know each other and find out if anyone else is on the island. Right away, Piggy s brains and common sense are exhibited. Ralph passively blows a conch they found, not with a meeting in mind but because it sounds cool. Even though Piggy had the idea of meeting, Ralph is automatically seen by everyone who comes as their leader simply because he blew the conch. This suggests that humans select their leaders based on who brought them together. Jack then comes to the assembly, already with the leadership role of head of the choir, and assumes he should be the leader of the entire group of boys. After a vote for leader between Ralph and Jack, Ralph is elected. No one ever even considers Piggy to be a candidate, even though he had the idea for an assembly and was the most passionate about setting up order on the island. Before discussing the dynamics between these characters, it must be understood what what shaped their personalities in the first place. Trying situations force people to show their true selves. As mentioned previously, prior to the development of the henequen complex, the area could be described as a varied landscape on the remarkably flat Yucatan terrain. However, the Yucatan later bear more resemblance to a patchwork of haciendas, so much so that with the boom in henequen at the end of the century, haciendas and even the much venerated cattle ranches were converted to plantations. Thus, the henequen wheat complex played a significant role in permanently transforming the once diverse ecosystem of the Yucatan into a uniform landscape solely dedicated to the harvesting of one crop, the henequen. In addition to these environmental alterations, this complex as well as the established monocrop economy introduced deforestation and subsequent erosion that would ultimately cause the ecological improvishment of the henequen zone in which it was economically benefiting from. This is evident from the funnels which are completely separate and identify no overlap between the functions. It appears that each team has developed processes in isolation, meaning that there is no alignment or collaboration between the groups. One of the key hurdles standing in the way of effective demand generation is the leads generation process. The case study highlights that the prospects from the marketing team were viewed in terms of a set of criteria, however this criteria appears to be set by the marketing team and varied greatly across different markets. This is in contract to the leads generated by the sales team who spent a lot of time upfront assessing the attractiveness of an opportunity by really understanding the prospect company, their interest level and how Avaya could provide a solution. This gap between the lead qualification process results in the sales team spending considerable time requalifying any leads from the marketing team to understand what the customers problem is and what an Avaya solution would look like (this is not an efficient use of their time). The predominant reason as to why I chose this book is because I am Moroccan descent and I had a strong desire to learn more about the rich cultures of the Arab world. I once read that those who had the last name Bencomo, which was orginally from the Canary Islands and written as Tehncomo were descendents of the Islamic traveler, Ibn Battuta. This sparked even more curiosity to learn about my ancestor s history. I heard stories from my grandmother about the Moors since her father was half Moroccan. The Use Of Improper Writing Techniques For Writing As a student, I am aware of my susceptibility to many forms of improper writing techniques that hinder my ability to produce a well written paper. While I was aware of most of these incorrect practices, I found myself unfamiliar with many ideas covered in the preliminary chapters of Who Says? The Writer s Research. Prior to reading chapters 1, 3, 4, and 9, I had never acknowledged the concept of information literacy and all of its various components. Admittedly, I had previously regarded literacy as the ability to read and write, and never thought it could be a method of interpreting information. Furthermore, I found the many ways in which plagiarism is manifested into a writingvery interesting, as I had never been aware of other forms of plagiarism besides copying a text word for word. While I found these ideas to be of tremendous value, I found the most efficient way to create a thesis the most helpful, as I usually struggle with crafting a singular idea when I am producing an essay. With these tools for writing, I will now be able to act preemptively to ensure a superior essay. Chapter one introduces information literacy a concept I found notable. Information literacy is defined as the ability to know when there is a need for information, to be able to identify, locate, evaluate, and effectively use that information for the issue or problem at hand (infolit.org, United States Government (Holdstein 3) Furthermore, I found it interesting that information literacy is ... Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 1900) I have always believed that various branches of sciences are separated from a stout unique body that its roots are made from basic sciences of physics, mathematics and chemistry. Similar to three main colors of Green, Blue and Red, their combination creates other majors. It was perhaps my acquaintance with mathematics in high school that later shaped the rest of my life. Although everyone s reason for owning guns is for safety only, there are different methods of protection that are safer than having a gun that can cause more damage than safety, and also many reasons not to own one at all. Throughout US History, there has been many amendments put in place that have put peoples lives in danger. Each state can compare its statistical data to the standardized infection ratio (SIR), a summarized ratio of the culmination of national data; this is an excellent method to track the progress in the goal of reducing and eventually eradicating HAIs. The report for the state of Kentucky on HAIs in the state s acute care hospitals was based on information received from a total of 116 hospitals that provided data for this survey. Unfortunately, the incidence of reported HAIs associated with Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), a type of laboratory identified hospital onset bloodstream infection, is extremely high. Kentucky s reported incidences in 2014 of patients infected with MRSA while being treated in acute care hospitals is 25% higher than the national baseline. This information is a red flag for the state s epidemiology experts and healthcare professionals, that infection control protocol in place should be reviewed and researched to determine what can be done, either on a hospital to hospital based level or a state wide level, to improve the efficiency of reducing or eliminating HAIs that are associated with MRSA infections. One area that the state s statistical data rates very well is in Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSIs). President Reagan and his administration were somewhat worried that the Marxist government of Prime Minister Maurice Bishop was allowing Cuba to gain influence in Grenada.
