Introduction
• Common on the hand & feet of children.
• More than 40 types of human papilloma virus which
can induce benign warty tumour of the skin &
mucosa.
IDENTIFICATION
• A viral disease manifested by;
• Variety of skin & mucous membrane lesions
• Cause by Human Papillomavirus

Susceptibility and
resistance
• Common warts & flat warts – most frequently seen
in young children.
• Genital warts – in sexually active
• Plantar warts – in school-age and teenagers
• Incidence increased in immuno suppressed
patients.
