This document summarizes key aspects of data centers, including their history, components, requirements, physical infrastructure, and modular approaches. A data center houses computer systems and associated equipment to provide data storage and Internet connectivity solutions. It discusses the core, aggregation, and access layers that make up their physical network architecture. Modern data centers require careful facility design for layout, power, cooling, and security, as well as robust system and service management infrastructures. Modular and containerized approaches provide scalable and portable alternatives to traditional building-based data center facilities.
Every business has a data center, regardless of the size. Even the smallest business has it. It is an ever-growing part of business in the modern world and a key business parameter, since data center influences the functioning of business enterprise. Imagine what happens to the business operation when the data center is interrupted. Any interruption can lead to serious breakdown. That is why efficient backup strategy is essential.
A data center is a facility that houses servers and critical network systems to collect, store, process, and distribute massive amounts of data. Data centers provide 24/7 services to customers and ensure data security. They consist of servers, cooling systems, ventilation, security systems, power distribution and backup units, and redundant backup systems to maximize uptime. Data centers are classified based on their redundancy and availability, with Tier III centers having the highest availability of 99.995% due to redundant systems and dual power. There are different types of data centers including internet, cloud, and dark centers.

A load balancing model based on cloud partitioning for the public cloud. ppt Lavanya Vigrahala
Load balancing in the cloud computing environment has an important impact on the performance. Good load balancing makes cloud computing more efficient and improves user satisfaction. This article introduces a better load balance model for the public cloud based on the cloud partitioning concept with a switch mechanism to choose different strategies for different situations. The algorithm applies the game theory to the load balancing strategy to improve the efficiency in the public cloud environment.
The document discusses input/output (I/O) in computer systems. It describes various I/O techniques including programmed I/O, interrupt-driven I/O, and direct memory access (DMA). It also covers I/O modules, external devices, addressing schemes, and interface standards like SCSI and FireWire.

Storage devices are used to store data outside of a computer's main memory. There are different types of storage including primary storage like RAM and cache that is directly accessible by the CPU. Secondary storage like hard disks requires accessing through input/output channels. Tertiary storage uses robotic mechanisms to store data offline. Linux uses disk partitioning to organize storage across physical disks using schemes like MBR and GPT. Logical volumes and RAID provide additional abstraction and redundancy. Network storage solutions like NAS export file systems over a network while SANs export block storage using protocols like Fibre Channel and iSCSI.
Cooling Optimization 101: A Beginner's Guide to Data Center CoolingUpsite Technologies
As new personnel enter the industry, they are often bombarded with a slew of buzz words and marketing messages that would lead them to believe that data centers almost run themselves. And while monitoring and DCIM solutions are improving the management of power and cooling, an understanding of the fundamental science is crucial to both see through the hype and get the most out of management systems. More so, as the veterans in our industry start to retire, much of the basic knowledge around power and cooling is often overlooked when training their successors. This session will provide that basic knowledge and give a fundamental understanding of the power and cooling infrastructure in a data center, with an emphasis on cooling optimization. In this session, you’ll learn how to recover stranded cooling capacity, reduce operating costs, improve IT equipment reliability, and prolong the life and capacity of the data center.
This chapter provides an introduction to operating systems, including their functions and components. It describes how operating systems act as intermediaries between users and computer hardware to manage resources and execute programs. It discusses the structure of computer systems and how they are composed of hardware, operating systems, application programs, and users. It also provides overviews of key operating system concepts like processes, memory management, storage management, and protection and security.
The components of an operating system all exist in order to make the different parts of a computer work together. All user software needs to go through the operating system in order to use any of the hardware, whether it be as simple as a mouse or keyboard or as complex as an Internet component.

2. Vanhoja asiakirjoja ovat
potilastietoja, jotka ovat tallennettu terveydenhuollon
tietojärjestelmiin tai arkistoitu paperimuodossa ennen
Potilastiedon arkisto -palvelun käyttöönottoa.
potilastiedot, jotka ovat tallennettu terveydenhuollon
tietojärjestelmiin käyttöönoton jälkeen, mutta joiden
välittäminen Potilastiedon arkisto -palveluun käynnistyy
myöhäisemmässä vaiheessa STM:n vaiheistusasetuksen
(165/2012) mukaisesti.
6.3.2018 Vanhojen tietojen arkistointi / Sinikka Rantala 2
3. Vanhojen asiakirjojen arkistoinnin hyödyt
Asiakirjoja säilytetään pysyvästi Potilastiedon arkistossa
Organisaation vastuu potilastietojen arkistoinnista poistuu
Terveydenhuollon ammattilaiset katsovat uusia ja vanhoja
potilastietoja yhdenmukaisen käyttöliittymän avulla
Tiedot ovat saatavilla yhdenmukaisella tavalla, joka tukee
laadukasta hoitoa ja palvelua asiakkaalle
Käytettävän potilastietojärjestelmän on osattava teknisesti
hakea myös vanhat tiedot
6.3.2018 Vanhojen tietojen arkistointi / Sinikka Rantala 3
4. Hyötyjä organisaatiolle
Ei tarvitse ylläpitää ja päivittää vanhoja katselukantoja
Vanhojen järjestelmien osaajia on ajan kuluessa aina
vähemmän eläköitymisen ja muihin tehtäviin siirtymisen
seurauksena
Rekisterinpitäjän käytössä on edellisten organisaatioiden
järjestelmien tiedot
Tukee tulevia järjestelmämuutoksia, potilastietoja haetaan
uuteen järjestelmään Kanta-palveluista
6.3.2018 Vanhojen tietojen arkistointi / Sinikka Rantala 4
5. Vanhojen tietojen arkistointi
Ei ole erottelua julkiseen, yksityiseen, suun
terveydenhuoltoon. Organisaatiot voivat tulla mukaan
tarpeensa ja resurssiensa mukaan.
Vanhat tiedot voidaan siirtää suoraan järjestelmistä tai
paikallisista/ alueellisista arkistoista.
Potilastietojen pysyväissäilytykseen Kansallisarkisto ei tule
antamaan säilytyslupaa, ei paikallisille eikä alueellisille
arkistoille.
Organisaation käytössä olevien tietojärjestelmien määrä
(onko käytöstä poistuneita järjestelmiä?) ja asiakirjojen määrä
(=potilasmäärät vuosittain) antavat suuntaa kuinka kauan
valmisteluihin menee aikaa. Arviolta ainakin puoli vuotta tulee
varata valmisteluihin ja asiakirjojen muodostamiseen.
6.3.2018 Vanhojen tietojen arkistointi / Sinikka Rantala 5
6. Vanhojen tietojen luovutus
– Kansalaisen palvelutapahtumakohtainen kieltomahdollisuus on vaikea toteuttaa
– Kirjauksissa saattaa olla mukana toista henkilöä koskevia tietoja
Sähköinen tieto on arkistossa pysyvästi, toistaiseksi säilytettävä. Aikaisemmat
säilytysajat ja pysyväissäilytyksen syntymäaikakohtaiset määräykset eivät päde.
Arkistolaitos on laatinut 25.9.2015 ja 14.2.2018 julkaistut tiedotteet, missä on
tarkennettu ohjeistusta Vanhojen potilastietojen pysyvän sähköisen säilyttämisen
toteuttamisesta.
