Total institutions regulate all aspects of life. They have single authority with total
control and are isolated from the rest of society. A few examples of total institutions
would be prison, mental hospitals, and the military. There are four features that
total institutions have in common. The first trait is that all aspects of life in a total

administrative staff. The second feature is that activities are conducted in the

This experiment was conducted to see how exercise affects breathing and heart
rates. My hypothesis was that if exercise puts strain on the body, then the heart and
breathing rates will increase and I was correct. This is because as the exercise

Teaching Is A Life Long Endeavor For Me
Teaching is an opportunity to bring all I have learned throughout my life together
and pass some of it on to children. Education has been a life long endeavor for me. I
had a less than stellar first year in college and as a result I dropped out and it took me
almost thirty years to earn my first Bachelor s degree. During that period of time I
worked as a Police Officer, a salesman, and a soldier. In my twenty six year
experience as a soldier, an instructor, and a leader in the military, I took care of
soldiers known as marginal soldiers. I learned many principles in the military, but
not all of the theories behind each of them. One of those principles was that no
soldier was worth losing. The same can be said of children, all are important and we
have no idea what any have to give or will give to society.
The military exposed me to many different races, languages, cultures, ethnicities,
religions, and locations. I learned to not only understand these differences, but also
use these to my advantage. It was necessary to understand these and apply these
differences while under the stresses of combat. I had between twenty to thirty
soldiers that worked for me in Iraq, all with diverse situations. One of my soldiers
was half black and half Puerto Rican, born in New York City, and raised by thirteen

means novel (Baker 2005). However, the impact that these representations have on the

seven. In the commentary, it mainly shows the measure numbers, part of the voice,
and remarks. For Measure number, it used the number to mark each specific
measure. In the part of the voice, fl means the voice of the flute, and b.c. means the
voice of the basso continuo. In the section of remarks, it contains very detailed
comments on the performance. Even it points out the version that it follows.
As I have tried out all the comments on this piece, I found that the changes make
music sound more interesting and artistic. For instance, the Sonata in B flat major for
flute and Basso continuous second movement Allegro. In the third measure, it
suggests the note 2 changed from F to A. After this changing, the melody of flute
sounds more interesting. In the measure six, it suggests moving the slur from notes 3

Wolfflin created the Wolfflin Method. The Wolfflin Method compares the two eras in

Baroque Eras. The Renaissance Era is represented by linear, planar, closed, and
multiplicity elements. All of these elements combined to create a crisp painting
where lines and shapes are distinguished. The BaroqueEra is represented by painterly,
recessional, open, and unity elements. These four elements help create a painting that
uses shadows to create dimension and depth within the piece giving the viewer an
overall sense of unity. The Wolfflin Method assists the viewer in understanding the
differences between the Renaissanceand Baroque Era.
The first painting to be analyzed is The Last Days of Pompeii, by Karl Bryullov.
This painting distinctly displays elements from the Baroque Era. Although this
painting has a linear element, which comes from the Renaissance Era, it s still
Baroque. The white building that is quickly crumbling has clear defined lines with
sharp edges. All of the people displaced in the painting also has defined edges and
can be differentiated from one another. This example demonstrates how the linear
element is displayed. There are a few groups of people that are on different levels,
kneeling, standing, or laying on the floor, creating diagonal lines throughout the
painting, showing the recessional element.
