The GTRE GTX 35VS Kaveri is an afterburning gas turbine engine that was
developed by the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) division of the
Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). In 1989, the DRDO
started developing the GTX 35VS Kaveri engine as an indigenous power plantto
replace the General Electric F404 engines that were initially set to power the Light
Combat Aircraft (LCA), the Tejas, designed by the Aeronautical Development
Agency (ADA) and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The
Kaveri Engine has a higher thrust, both dry and wet thrust, than the SNECMA M88.
However, due to the Kaveri engine not being able to satisfy the performance
requirements for the LCA, and several delays and cost overruns, the GTX 35VS was
decoupled from theTejas programme in late 2008.

During my second day for my New York City trip, me and my friends decided to go

The question I chose to respond to is to explain stratification in the United States.
Social stratification refers to a societies categorization of its people into rankings
of socioeconomic tiers based on factors such as wealth, income, race, education,
and power (Introduction to Sociology, pp.189). Societies classes are based off of
layers, consisting of people and earth s resources which are unevenly distributed.
Individuals with the most resources make up the top layer of social structure, and
those with fewer resources represent the lower levels of social class. Social

The Double Helix is a novel banned from publication at Harvard University, and is
written honestly but crude about how a scientist perceives science. The Novel takes
perspective of author James D. Watson himself, as he went off to solve the structure
of DNA with the help of partner Francis Creek. Through out the novel many
comments are made towards scientists, who are also invested in the discovery of the
DNA s structure. These comments are seen as offensive towards the characters and
profession, they advocated bullying, sexism and lastly do not help readers grasp the

Public Space, Race Street Pier
Observation For the final Philadelphia Experience report, I decided to observe a
public space, Race Street Pier. To get to the pier you can either walk or drive a car
there. Since I don t live in the city, I had to drive. Once there, I approached a big
black gate that was wide open with the name of the pier on it. Walking from the
busy street behind me, I wandered into a tree covered garden with two possible
paths to pick from. I chose the one on the left. This path was lined with trees and
lights with benches every couple of feet. As I continued walking, I realized that

It didn t seem like these steps were actually steps at all. A class of middle school
students were sitting there listening to their teacher who stood at the bottom. I
figured that these steps were actually seating for entertainment like bleachers at a
sports game. A path of gray pavers, the same material as the lower portion of the
pier, went through the middle of the whole pier connecting the upper level with the
lower level. This path gave a view of everything. Once at the bottom, I saw patches
of grass and lots of benches. Some joggers crossed my path several times along

It was a noon. I was playing on the playground just minding my own business when
I heard a bark. My body all of a sudden became tense, my heart started punching and
pounding like a piston inside an engine. I was on top of the slide, so I started to
scan all around me for a dog, until I saw it. It looked like a 60 80 lb. dog with black
hair, long neck, long nose and sharp teeth. It came closer and closer to the
playground and then just like the first dog I met it started barking over and over
and over. I was stuck, I felt like I was in a sinking ship with sharks swarming
around it. I just stood there without moving a muscle in the hops that I will
somehow camouflage with my surroundings. It didn t work. That day I was a
prisoned for almost 20 minutes before the dog decided I wasn t worth this much time
and left. I was not sure if this was a trap so just to make sure it really was gone I
stayed an extra 15 minutes. After that experience I did not go outside for a whole 2
weeks. My fear of dogs can be traced back to this moment but fear of cats not so
much. The place I was at did not have any cats but a few years later when we
