Learning objective: By the end of the lesson, pupils are able to:
1. Find 8 words on the Word Find tasksheet
correctly.
2. unjumble / spell and write the 8 correct words in
the space provided.
3. Listen to Wishes story and read the dialogues on
the powerpoint slides.
4. Say out the dialogues with correct
pronunciation.

Word Find
1. Teacher gives pupils handout.
2. Teacher asks pupils to find the words given.
3. Teacher discuss with pupils the answers.
Cards Game
1. Teacher divides the pupils into groups of three.
2. Teacher demonstrates the Cards game:
a. instruct all the pupils to come to the front of the class.
b. Deal out the cards equally to all group members. The cards consist of
both pictures and word cards
c. Ask the pupils to show the cards pupils have in their hands and to
identify them.
d. Choose one card (e.g. picture of a seagull) and to hold it up for the
pupils to see, and ask one other pupil: Do you have a seagull?
e. Show the child’s cards to the class and asks the pupils to say what s/he
has in his/her hand. Say: Does Aziz have a mermaid? No?
f. If the pupil do not have a mermaid word card in his/her stack, pupil A
will lose a turn.
g. Then, the next pupil has a turn. Repeat the above process – still
modeling it until one pupil asks the other person who has the matching
card. They must give the card to the pupil who asks for the card.
h. The winner is the pupil with the most number of cards while matches.

Dialogue
1. Teacher shows “Wishes” powerpoint slides
2. Teacher shows the picture of page 1and asks pupils what they can see in the
picture. Teacher elicits any other information relevant
3. Teacher introduces the dialogue and asks pupils to spell out the word.
3. Repeat step 3-4 for other pictures.

Find 8 words on the Word Find tasksheet correctly. 2. unjumble / spell and write the 8 correct words in the space provided. 3. Listen to Wishes story and read the dialogues on the powerpoint slides. 4. Say out the dialogues with correct pronunciation. Educational Emphases : Multiple Intelligences, social-constructivism Teaching Aids : Powerpoint slides (Wishes), Word Find tasksheets, Cards game. Lexical items : Wishes keywords Mermaid, seagull, fly, sea, swim, sky, rock, sit Assessment : B1DB3E1 Reflection : Teaching and Learning Activities: Keywords 1. Teacher distribute worksheet paper to pupils. 2. Teacher asks pupils to match the picture to the words.
  • 2. RELTnote© ELTC 2012 Word Find 1. Teacher gives pupils handout. 2. Teacher asks pupils to find the words given. 3. Teacher discuss with pupils the answers. Cards Game 1. Teacher divides the pupils into groups of three. 2. Teacher demonstrates the Cards game: a. instruct all the pupils to come to the front of the class. b. Deal out the cards equally to all group members. The cards consist of both pictures and word cards c. Ask the pupils to show the cards pupils have in their hands and to identify them. d. Choose one card (e.g. picture of a seagull) and to hold it up for the pupils to see, and ask one other pupil: Do you have a seagull? e. Show the child’s cards to the class and asks the pupils to say what s/he has in his/her hand. Say: Does Aziz have a mermaid? No? f. If the pupil do not have a mermaid word card in his/her stack, pupil A will lose a turn. g. Then, the next pupil has a turn. Repeat the above process – still modeling it until one pupil asks the other person who has the matching card. They must give the card to the pupil who asks for the card. h. The winner is the pupil with the most number of cards while matches.
