know well, older person or a person in a position of
authority:
• Put the verb in the yo form of the present tense
• drop the “o”
• add a for er/ir verbs and e for ar verbs. (opposite
endings just like negative tú commands)

• To give a command to a group that includes yourself (let’s +
verb):
• Put the verb in the yo form of the present tense
• drop the “o”
• add amos for er/ir verbs and emos for ar verbs.
• These rules apply to both affirmative and negative
commands.
• With the verb ir, the present indicative is used for the
affirmative command. The subjunctive is used only for the
negative.
Let’s go = Vamos Let’s not go = no vayamos
