  5. 5. Suffixes: Suffixes are sets of letters that are added to the ending of another word to alter its meaning and to form a new word.
  6. 6. Some Common Examples of Suffixes: • -Ly • -Less • -Able • -Ful
  7. 7. Usage of Suffixes to form a new word. WORD SUFFIX NEW WORD Child -ish Childish. Work -er Worker. Taste -less Tasteless. Ideal -ise/-ize Idealise/ Idealize. Like -able Likeable.
  8. 8. Note: Prefixes And Suffixes are not words in their own right, and they cannot stand on their own in a sentence; if they are printed on their own, then they have a hyphen before or after them.
