Introduction and Historical Background
Every society in which we live, from the remote tribe to the most technologically advanced culture has
rules in which by which it operates. Most societies have written rules governing behaviour and a set of
punishment for those who break the rules. These can be referred to as the society s laws.
The law is defined as is defined as the body of rules of conduct created by the government and
enforced by government authority. Without any rules or behaviour, life in a group would be difficult, if
not impossible. In order to master criminal law, there must be an understanding of the context in
which criminal law exists.
The United States has a system of law derived from the English system of Common Law. As the
original English settlers arrived in the new world, they brought with them a well developed system of
justice. This English system of law was common to all persons and all areas in the English empire, so
it came to be referred to as the Common Law. Common Law is founded on the idea that if one set of
facts yields a decision in one case, the same set of facts should yield the decision in the next case. For
example if a judge in Manchester ruled that stealing a goat was a crime, a judge in London should rule

only see what s on the screen and they can only hear the dialogue. Show how Chris is visibly annoyed
(rolls eyes, deep breath). Also later, the idea that Chris ponders his response, should be visual.
Everyone talks about the attack as if it caused great trauma to Chris, but the audience doesn t feel this.

Reflection Paper On Counselling
The first counseling session was an introductory time for me and Counselor, Janine King to become
acquainted. Janine introduced her techniques and her journey to becoming a counselor. I shared my
counseling journey, my academic goals, and the areas that I wanted to focus on during the ten weeks.
The session ended by creating a road map of the areas in my life that might be explored. In session
two, Janine went over my MMPI results and inquired about my life story. It was interesting to learn
that Janine s MMPI results were similar to mine. Janine encouraged me to view the results with an
open mind and use the new information to propel growth in my life. I spent the rest of the session
sharing my life story, and secrets about my past that had never been shared before. The session closed
with reflection and prayer. The third session I was introduced to an exercise called Safe Place, as well
as The Six R s Script. The Six R s are: recognizing my sin, repenting of the sin, receiving freedom,
realigning with God, and rejoicing in the healing and freedom I received. I walked through the Six R s
Script after I identified sin that still gripped me. The session ended with Safe Place exercise and
prayer. I left with action steps on how to move forward in my new found healing and freedom. The
fourth session was full of struggle and frustration. I went into the session thankful for the victory from
