Usability of User Interface Styles for Learning Graphical Software ApplicationsWaqas Tariq
This paper examines usability of different user interface styles for learning graphical software applications, namely Adobe Flash CS4 and Microsoft Expression blend 4. An empirical study was performed to investigate the usability attributes of effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction scores for learning the graphical software applications. There were 32 participants recruited whom consist of interface designers and software developers. A set of 7 tasks was designed to compare the different effects of user interface styles including graphical user interface (GUI) and command line interface (CLI). User Performance variables (effectiveness, efficiency, duration, number of errors and number of helps) were measured for tasks performed by all the participants in the test. Satisfaction score was measured using QUIS (Questionnaire for User Interface Satisfaction) tool. The result revealed that the average effectiveness scores are higher than 75% for both software applications. Although Adobe Flash CS4 gained slightly higher on effectiveness, Microsoft Expression Blend 4 obtained better results in terms of efficiency, duration, errors and helps. The user satisfaction rates also showed Microsoft Expression Blend 4 gained higher satisfaction comparing Adobe Flash CS4. Generally, both software applications gained scores above average (>3.5) for majority of the user interface satisfaction attributes of software regardless of users’ background.

Numerous function modelling approaches exist for software design. However, there is little empirical evidence on how these approaches are used in the early stages of software design. This article presents the results of an online survey on the application of function models in the academic and industrial software development community. The results show that more than 90% of the 75 respondents agreed with the statement that software projects that use function modelling techniques have a higher chance of success than other projects. UML is the most widely accepted and used modelling approach among the respondents, but only a handful of UML diagrams appear to be prominently addressed during the early software design stages. Asked for reasons for selecting or rejecting UML models the majority of respondents mentioned using function models to understand software requirements and communicate these with clients and technical teams, whereas lack of familiarity, the time-consuming nature of some models and data redundancy are widely mentioned reasons for not or seldomly using certain models. The study also shows a strong relationship between model usage and respondents’ professions. We conclude that improvements are required to ensure the benefits of the various available models and the links between the models can be fully exploited to support individual designers, to improve communication and collaboration, and to increase project success. A short discussion on the chosen solution direction - a simplified function modelling approach – closes the paper.

architectures suit well to these algorithms. They are known for offering high performance and power
efficiency. Unfortunately, as parallel programming for these architectures requires a complex distribution
of tasks and data, developers find difficult to implement their applications effectively. Although approaches
based on source-to-source intends to provide a low learning curve for parallel programming and take
advantage of architecture features to create optimized applications, programming remains difficult for
neophytes. This work aims at improving performance by returning to the high-level models, specific
execution data from a profiling tool enhanced by smart advices computed by an analysis engine. In order to
keep the link between execution and model, the process is based on a traceability mechanism. Once the
model is automatically annotated, it can be re-factored aiming better performances on the re-generated
code. Hence, this work allows keeping coherence between model and code without forgetting to harness the
power of parallel architectures. To illustrate and clarify key points of this approach, we provide an
experimental example in GPUs context. The example uses a transformation chain from UML-MARTE
models to OpenCL code.

A TAXONOMY FOR TOOLS, PROCESSES AND LANGUAGES IN AUTOMOTIVE SOFTWARE ENGINEERINGcsandit
Within the growing domain of software engineering in the automotive sector, the number of used tools, processes, methods and languages has increased distinctly in the past years. To be able to choose proper methods for particular development use cases, factors like the intended
use, key-features and possible limitations have to be evaluated. This requires a taxonomy that
aids the decision making. An analysis of the main existing taxonomies revealed two major deficiencies: the lack of the automotive focus and the limitation to particular engineering
method types. To face this, a graphical taxonomy is proposed based on two well-established engineering approaches and enriched with additional classification information. It provides a
self-evident and -explanatory overview and comparison technique for engineering methods in the automotive domain. The taxonomy is applied to common automotive engineering methods.The resulting diagram classifies each method and enables the reader to select appropriate solutions for given project requirements
Abstract The management of software cost, development effort and project planning are the key aspects of software development. Throughout the sixty-odd years of software development, the industry has gone at least four generations of programming languages and three major development paradigms. Still the total ability to move consistently from idea to product is yet to be achieved. In fact, recent studies document that the failure rate for software development has risen almost to 50 percent. There is no magic in managing software development successfully, but a number of issues related to software development make it unique. The basic problem of software development is risky. Some example of risk is error in estimation, schedule slips, project cancelled after numerous slips, high defect rate, system goes sour, business misunderstanding, false feature rich, staff turnover. XSoft Estimation addresses the risks by accurate measurement. A new methodology to estimate using software COSMIC-Full Function Point and named as EXtreme Software Estimation (XSoft Estimation). Based on the experience gained on the original XSoft project develpment, this paper describes what makes XSoft Estimation work from sizing to estimation. performance has been specified based on performance models, may be evaluated at the primary stages of software development cycle.
Therefore, modeling and evaluation of non-functional requirements in software architecture level, that are designed at the primary
stages of software systems development cycle and prior to implementation, will be very effective.
We propose an approach for evaluate the performance of software systems, based on black board technique in software architecture
level. In this approach, at first, software architecture using blackboard technique is described by UML use case, activity and
component diagrams. then UML model is transformed to an executable model based on timed colored petri nets(TCPN)
Consequently, upon execution of an executive model and analysis of its results, non-functional requirements including performance
(such as response time) may be evaluated in software architecture level.

Systems variability modeling a textual model mixing class and feature conceptsijcsit
System’s reusability and cost are very important in software product line design area. Developers’ goal is
to increase system reusability and decreasing cost and efforts for building components from scratch for
each software configuration. This can be reached by developing software product line (SPL). To handle
SPL engineering process, several approaches with several techniques were developed. One of these
approaches is called separated approach. It requires separating the commonalities and variability for
system’s components to allow configuration selection based on user defined features. Textual notationbased
approaches have been used for their formal syntax and semantics to represent system features and
implementations. But these approaches are still weak in mixing features (conceptual level) and classes
(physical level) that guarantee smooth and automatic configuration generation for software releases. The
absence of methodology supporting the mixing process is a real weakness. In this paper, we enhanced
SPL’s reusability by introducing some meta-features, classified according to their functionalities. As a first
consequence, mixing class and feature concepts is supported in a simple way using class interfaces and
inherent features for smooth move from feature model to class model. And as a second consequence, the
mixing process is supported by a textual design and implementation methodology, mixing class and feature
models by combining their concepts in a single language. The supported configuration generation process
is simple, coherent, and complete.
Construction Cost Prediction by Using Building Information ModelingIJERA Editor
The increased interest in using Building Information Modeling (BIM) in detailed construction cost estimates calls for methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of BIM-Assisted Detailed Estimating (BADE) tools in generating detailed construction cost estimates. The focus of this research is on developing a quantified evaluation method to measure the impact of these BADE tools. Further, in order to understand the cognitive details of the estimator, this research also tested and evaluated the impact of the visualization factor and the compound impact of the visualization factor and aggregated calculation factor on the construction cost estimating process.Two cases study were tested, building and bridge. Three methods were applied on each case study,method 1the manual estimating method, method 2 used a BADE tool without a calculation function (i.e., the quantities of the individual building components can be read as properties of the component), method 3 used a BADE tool with calculation functions that allowed the user to directly calculate/aggregate the query results of the BIM database in the MS Excel spreadsheet.Results obtained from the test cases helped to reinforce the reliability of the observations and the evaluation. Four parameters were used to evaluate the performance results individually in the first step: generality, flexibility, efficiency, and accuracy. Then a multiattribute utility model, which took into account the four individual parameters, was developed and used to evaluate the overall performance of BIM assisted estimating versus the performance of the traditional estimating method on quantity takeoffs. The research concluded that the BIM-assisted estimate demonstrated better performance over traditional estimating methods. Both the visualization and aggregation functions of the BADE tool had significant impact on the performance of the detailed estimate.

The emergence of Unified Modeling Language (UML) as a standard for modeling systems has encouraged the use of automated software tools that facilitate the development process from analysis through coding. Reverse Engineering has become a viable method to measure an existing system and reconstruct the necessary model from its original. The Reverse Engineering of behavioral models consists in extracting high-level models that help understand the behavior of existing software systems. In this paper we present an ongoing work on extracting UML diagrams from object-oriented programming languages. we propose an approach for the reverse engineering of UML behavior from the analysis of execution traces produced dynamically by an object-oriented application using formal and semi-formal techniques for modeling the dynamic behavior of a system. Our methods show that this approach can produce UML behavioral diagrams in reasonable time and suggest that these diagrams are helpful in understanding the behavior of the underlying application.

SPL engineering process, several approaches with several techniques were developed. One of these
approaches is called separated approach. It requires separating the commonalities and variability for
system’s components to allow configuration selection based on user defined features. Textual notationbased
approaches have been used for their formal syntax and semantics to represent system features and
implementations. But these approaches are still weak in mixing features (conceptual level) and classes
(physical level) that guarantee smooth and automatic configuration generation for software releases. The
absence of methodology supporting the mixing process is a real weakness. In this paper, we enhanced
SPL’s reusability by introducing some meta-features, classified according to their functionalities. As a first
consequence, mixing class and feature concepts is supported in a simple way using class interfaces and
inherent features for smooth move from feature model to class model. And as a second consequence, the
mixing process is supported by a textual design and implementation methodology, mixing class and feature
models by combining their concepts in a single language. The supported configuration generation process
is simple, coherent, and complete.
Construction Cost Prediction by Using Building Information ModelingIJERA Editor
The increased interest in using Building Information Modeling (BIM) in detailed construction cost estimates calls for methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of BIM-Assisted Detailed Estimating (BADE) tools in generating detailed construction cost estimates. The focus of this research is on developing a quantified evaluation method to measure the impact of these BADE tools. Further, in order to understand the cognitive details of the estimator, this research also tested and evaluated the impact of the visualization factor and the compound impact of the visualization factor and aggregated calculation factor on the construction cost estimating process.Two cases study were tested, building and bridge. Three methods were applied on each case study,method 1the manual estimating method, method 2 used a BADE tool without a calculation function (i.e., the quantities of the individual building components can be read as properties of the component), method 3 used a BADE tool with calculation functions that allowed the user to directly calculate/aggregate the query results of the BIM database in the MS Excel spreadsheet.Results obtained from the test cases helped to reinforce the reliability of the observations and the evaluation. Four parameters were used to evaluate the performance results individually in the first step: generality, flexibility, efficiency, and accuracy. Then a multiattribute utility model, which took into account the four individual parameters, was developed and used to evaluate the overall performance of BIM assisted estimating versus the performance of the traditional estimating method on quantity takeoffs. The research concluded that the BIM-assisted estimate demonstrated better performance over traditional estimating methods. Both the visualization and aggregation functions of the BADE tool had significant impact on the performance of the detailed estimate.

The emergence of Unified Modeling Language (UML) as a standard for modeling systems has encouraged the use of automated software tools that facilitate the development process from analysis through coding. Reverse Engineering has become a viable method to measure an existing system and reconstruct the necessary model from its original. The Reverse Engineering of behavioral models consists in extracting high-level models that help understand the behavior of existing software systems. In this paper we present an ongoing work on extracting UML diagrams from object-oriented programming languages. we propose an approach for the reverse engineering of UML behavior from the analysis of execution traces produced dynamically by an object-oriented application using formal and semi-formal techniques for modeling the dynamic behavior of a system. Our methods show that this approach can produce UML behavioral diagrams in reasonable time and suggest that these diagrams are helpful in understanding the behavior of the underlying application.

experienced people. We know that there are many CAD packages available in the market for design which demands

programming languages like Visual Basic, Java, C++.But it is observed that Visual Basic is having some advantages
over others like it will give us best frame work for product design input base as well as it can be easily interface with

Transformation Templates: Adding Flexibilityto Model-Driven Engineering of Us...Jean Vanderdonckt
Model-based user interface (UI) development environments are aimed at generating one or many UIs from one or many models. Model-driven engineering (MDE) of UIs is assumed to be superior to those environments since they make the UI design knowledge visible, explicit, and external, for instance as model-to-model transformations and model-to-code compilation rules. These transformations and rules are often considered inflexible, complex to express, and hard to develop by UI designers and developers who are not necessarily experts in MDE. In order to overcome these shortcomings, this paper introduces "Transformation Templates", an approach that is adding flexibility to the MDE of UIs by externalizing the transformation logic of UI models, and making it editable, customizable, and reusable. It is also intended to make it easier for UI designers to specify the transformations. A Transformation Template specifies a series of parameters that enable designers to parameterize the model transformation process at the concept level that is of a higher level of abstraction than at the level of physical properties of UI widgets. This paper presents an editor for Transformation Templates and an example of Parameter Type. Transformation Templates can be effectively and efficiently used in any circumstances where the transformation knowledge needs to be modified by non-experts, such as in domain specific languages where flexibility is required.

This presentation presents a rigorous analysis of a quasi-experiment carried out in a controlled environment. The data gathered shows that the productivity and the satisfaction of junior Web developers are significantly affected by the development method but they are independent from the particular module being developed. The main conclusions of our study (that still need to be corroborated with further replications) are:
* The MDD approach seems to significantly increase the productivity of developers with respect to both the MDB and the code-centric approach.
* The MDD approach satisfies the most the expectations of juniors developers, followed by code-centric and, in third position, the MDB approach.

Many modeling aspects including analytical, intuitive, artistic, technical, graphical, mathematical, psychological and programming models need to be considered in the development process of an effective user interface. This research examines some of the past practices and recommends a set of guidelines for designing effective user interfaces. It also demonstrates how UML use case diagrams can be enhanced by relating user interface elements to use cases.

Following the principle of everything is object, software development engineering has moved towards the principle of everything is model, through Model Driven Engineering (MDE). Its implementation is based on models and their successive transformations, which allow starting from the requirements specification to the code’s implementation. This engineering is used in the development of information systems, including Decision-Support Systems (DSS). Here we use MDE to propose an DSS development approach, using the Multidimensional Canonical Partitioning (MCP) design approach and a design pattern. We also use model’s transformation in order to obtain not only implementation codes, but also data warehouse feeds.
Majority of agile projects currently involve interactive user interface designs, which can only be possible by following UCD in agile software model. But the integration of UCD is not clear in the current agile models. Both Agile models and UCD have iterative nature but agile models focus on coding and development of software; whereas, UCD focuses on user interface of the software. Similarly, both of them have testing features where the agile model involves automated tested code while UCD involves an expert or a user to test the user interface. In this paper, a new agile usability model is presented and tested in companies and are presented. Key results from these projects clearly shows: the proposed agile model incorporates usability evaluation methods, improve the relationship between usability experts to work with agile software experts; in addition, allows agile developers to incorporate the result from UCD into subsequent interactions.

The "Software as a Service" (SaaS) model of cloud computing popularized online multiuser collaborative software. Two famous examples of this class of software are Office 365 from Microsoft and Google Workspace. Cloud technology removes the need to install and update the software on end users' computers and provides the necessary underlying infrastructure for online collaboration. However, to provide a good end-user experience, cloud services require an infrastructure able to scale up to the task and allow low-latency interactions with a variety of users worldwide. This is a limiting factor for actors that do not possess such infrastructure. Unlike cloud computing which forgets the computational and interactional capabilities of end users' devices, the edge computing paradigm promises to exploit them as much as possible. To investigate the potential of edge computing over cloud computing, this paper presents a method for engineering interactive collaborative software supported by edge devices for the replacement of cloud computing resources. Our method is able to handle user interface aspects such as connection, execution, migration, and disconnection differently depending on the available technology. We exemplify our approach by developing a distributed Pictionary game deployed in two scenarios: a nonshared scenario where each participant interacts only with their own device and a shared scenario where participants also share a common device, including a TV. After a theoretical comparative study of edge vs. cloud computing, an experiment compares the two implementations to determine their effect on the end user's perceived experience and latency vs. real latency

Eye movement analysis is a popular method to evaluate whether a user interface meets the users' requirements and abilities. However, with current tools, setting up a usability evaluation with an eye-tracker is resource-consuming, since the areas of interest are defined manually, exhaustively and redefined each time the user interface changes. This process is also error-prone, since eye movement data must be finely synchronised with user interface changes. These issues become more serious when the user interface layout changes dynamically in response to user actions. In addition, current tools do not allow easy integration into interactive applications, and opportunistic code must be written to link these tools to user interfaces. To address these shortcomings and to leverage the capabilities of eye-tracking, we present UsyBus, a communication framework for autonomous, tight coupling among reusable agents. These agents are responsible for collecting data from eye-trackers, analyzing eye movements, and managing communication with other modules of an interactive application. UsyBus allows multiple heterogeneous eye-trackers as input, provides multiple configurable outputs depending on the data to be exploited. Modules exchange data based on the UsyBus communication framework, thus creating a customizable multi-agent architecture. UsyBus application domains range from usability evaluation to gaze interaction applications design. Two case studies, composed of reusable modules from our portfolio, exemplify the implementation of the UsyBus framework.

Finger-based gesture input becomes a major interaction modality for surface computing. Due to the low precision of the finger and the variation in gesture production, multistroke gestures are still challenging to recognize in various setups. In this paper, we present µV, a multistroke gesture recognizer that addresses the properties of articulation, rotation, scaling, and translation invariance by combining $P+'s cloud-matching for articulation invariance with !FTL's local shape distance for RST-invariance. We evaluate µV against five competitive recognizers on MMG, an existing gesture set, and on two new versions for smartphones and tablets, MMG+ and RMMG+, a randomly rotated version on both platforms. µV is significantly more accurate than its predecessors when rotation invariance is required and not significantly inferior when it is not. µV is also significantly faster than others with many samples and not significantly slower with few samples

The body of knowledge accumulated by gesture elicitation studies (GES), although useful, large, and extensive, is also heterogeneous, scattered in the scientific literature across different venues and fields of research, and difficult to generalize to other contexts of use represented by different gesture types, sensing devices, applications, and user categories. To address such aspects, we introduce RepliGES, a conceptual space that supports (1) replications of gesture elicitation studies to confirm, extend, and complete previous findings, (2) reuse of previously elicited gesture sets to enable new discoveries, and (3) extension and generalization of previous findings with new methods of analysis and for new user populations towards consolidated knowledge of user-defined gestures. Based on RepliGES, we introduce GEStory, an interactive design space and visual tool, to structure, visualize and identify user-defined gestures from a number of 216 published gesture elicitation studies

Intra-platform plasticity regularly assumes that the display of a computing platform remains fixed and rigid during interactions with the platform in contrast to reconfigurable displays, which can change form depending on the context of use. In this paper, we present a model-based approach for designing and deploying graphical user interfaces that support intra-platform plasticity for reconfigurable displays. We instantiate the model for E3Screen, a new device that expands a conventional laptop with two slidable, rotatable, and foldable lateral displays, enabling slidable user interfaces. Based on a UML class diagram as a domain model and a SCRUD list as a task model, we define an abstract user interface as interaction units with a corresponding master-detail design pattern. We then map the abstract user interface to a concrete user interface by applying rules for the reconfiguration, concrete interaction, unit allocation, and widget selection and implement it in JavaScript. In a first experiment, we determine display configurations most preferred by users, which we organize in the form of a state-transition diagram. In a second experiment, we address reconfiguration rules and widget selection rules. A third experiment provides insights into the impact of the lateral displays on a visual search task.

We conducted a user-centered design of a clinical decision-support system for breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and reporting based on stroke gestures. We combined knowledge elicitation interviews, scenario-focused questionnaires, and paper mock-ups to understand user needs. Multi-fidelity (low and high) prototypes were designed and compared first in vitro in a usability laboratory, then in vivo in the real world. The resulting user interface provides radiologists with a platform that integrates domain-oriented tools for the visualization of mammograms, the manual, and the semi-automatic annotation of breast cancer findings based on stroke gestures. The contribution of this work lies in that, to the best of our knowledge, stroke gestures have not yet been applied to the annotation of mammograms. On the one hand, although there is a substantial amount of research done in stroke-based interaction, none focuses especially on the domain of breast cancer annotation. On the other hand, typical gestures in breast cancer annotation tools are those with a keyboard and a mouse

Ensuring responsive design of web applications requires their user interfaces to be able to adapt according to different contexts of use, which subsume the end users, the devices and platforms used to carry out the interactive tasks, and also the environment in which they occur. To address the challenges posed by responsive design, aiming to simplify their development by factoring out the common parts from the specific ones, this paper presents Quill, a web-based development environment that enables various stakeholders of a web application to collaboratively adopt a model-based design of the user interface for cross-platform deployment. The paper establishes a series of requirements for collaborative model-based design of cross-platform web user interfaces motivated by the literature, observational and situational design. It then elaborates on potential solutions that satisfy these requirements and explains the solution selected for Quill. Detachable user interfaces consist of graphical user interfaces whose parts or whole can be detached at run-time from their host, migrated onto an- other computing platform while carrying out the task, possibly adapted to the new platform and attached to the target platform in a peer-to-peer fashion. De- taching is the property of splitting a part of a UI for transferring it onto another platform. AttAaching is the reciprocal property: a part of an existing interface can be attached to the currently being used interface so as to recompose another one on-demand, according to user's needs, task requirements. Assembling inter- face parts by detaching and attaching allows dynamically composing, decom- posing and re-composing new interfaces on demand. To support this interaction paradigm, a development infrastructure has been developed based on a series of primitives such as display, undisplay, copy, expose, return, transfer, delegate, and switch. We exemplify it with QTkDraw, a painting application with attach- ing and detaching based on the development infrastructure.
The Impact of Comfortable Viewing Positions on Smart TV GesturesJean Vanderdonckt
Whereas gesture elicitation studies for TV interaction
assume that participants adopt an upright, frontal viewing
position, we asked 21 participants to hold a natural, comfortable
viewing position, the posture they adopt when watching TV
at home. By involving a broad selection of users regarding
age, profession, our study targets a higher ecological validity
than in existing studies. Agreements rates were lower than existing studies using an upright, frontal viewing position. Participants experienced problems due to (1) having to use their slave hand instead of their dominant hand, (2) being in a certain orientation with their head making it more difficult to perform some physical movements, and (3) being hindered in their movement by the sofa there lay on. Since each person may have a different
position inducing different gestures due to the aforementioned
problems, the effect of a comfortable viewing position is analyzed
by comparison to gestures for a frontal position.
Head and Shoulders Gestures: Exploring User-Defined Gestures with Upper BodyJean Vanderdonckt
This paper presents empirical results about user-dened gestures
for head and shoulders by analyzing 308 gestures elicited from 22 participants for 14 referents materializing 14 different types of tasks in IoT context of use. We report an overall medium consensus but with medium variance (mean: .263, min: .138, max: .390 on the unit scale) between participants gesture proposals, while their thinking time were less similar (min: 2.45 sec, max: 22.50 sec), which suggests that head and shoulders gestures are not all equally easy to imagine and to produce. We point to the challenges of deciding which head and shoulders gestures
will become the consensus set based on four criteria: the agreement rate, their individual frequency, their associative frequency, and their unicity.

G-Menu: A Keyword-by-Gesture based Dynamic Menu Interface for SmartphonesJean Vanderdonckt
Instead of relying on graphical or vocal modalities for searching
an item by keyword (called K-Menu), this paper presents the G-Menu exploiting gesture interaction and gesture recognition: when a user sketches a keyword by gesturing the first letters of its label, a menu with items related to the recognized letters is constructed dynamically and presented to the user for selection and auto-completion. The selection can be completed either gesturally by an appropriate gesture (called the G-Menu) or by touch only (called the T-Menu). This paper compares the three types of menu, i.e., by keyword, by gesture, and by touching, in a user study with twenty participants on their item selection time (for measuring task efficiency), their error rate (for measuring task effectiveness),
and their subjective satisfaction (for measuring user satisfaction).

Unistroke and multistroke gesture recognizers have always striven to reach some robustness with respect to
all variations encountered when people issue gestures by hand
on touch surfaces or with sensing devices. For this purpose,
successful stroke recognizers rely on a gesture recognition
algorithm that satisfies a series of invariance properties such
as: stroke-order invariance, stroke-number invariance, stroke direction invariance, position, scale, and rotation invariance.
Before initiating any recognition activity, these algorithms
ensure these properties by performing several pre-processing
operations. These operations induce an additional computational

bias. To cope with this problem, we introduce an algorithm that
ensures all these properties analytically instead of statistically
based on a vector algebra. Instead of points, the recognition
algorithm works on vectors between vectors. We demonstrate
that this approach not eliminates the need for these preprocessing
operations but also satisfies an entire structure preserving
transformation.

Body-based gestures, such as acquired by Kinect sensor, today benefit from efficient tools for their recognition and development, but less for automated reasoning. To facilitate this activity, an ontology for structuring body-based gestures, based on user, body and body parts, gestures, and environment, is designed and encoded in Ontology Web Language according to modelling triples (subject, predicate, object). As a proof-of-concept and to feed this ontology, a gesture elicitation study collected 24 participants X 19 referents for IoT tasks = 456 elicited body-based gestures, which were classified and expressed according to the ontology.
