How Palm Oil Impacts The Sumatran Tiger
In the last two decades, palm oil has been one of the most imported goods around the world. In
fact, the top industries are located in Sumatra, Indonesia, holding up to 90% of the world s
exported palm oil. Palm oil comes from the palm fruit of the African oil palm trees, and is grown
mainly in the rainforest area. Unfortunately, the actions taken to grow these trees are causing
horrible impacts to the world s environment, such as deforestation, pollution, and increased
greenhouse gas emissions. Between 1985 and 2011, more than 30 million acres of the Sumatran
forest disappeared because of the involvement of palm oil. Because of these environmental impacts,
it s leading to animal cruelty, especially for the Sumatran tiger. The deforestation of palm oil is
driving Sumatran tigers toward extinction, because of the endangered wildlife environment,
hazardous plantations, and starvation. According to One Green Planet, at least 80% of the
Sumatran wildlife habitat is lost from the production of palm oil leading to the extinction of the
Sumatran tigers. In 2017, it has been recorded that their are fewer than 400 Sumatran tigers that
exist (How Palm Oil Impacts the Sumatran Tiger).
Palm oil is a popular ingredient used in packaged food products, cosmetics, laundry detergents and
more. Because the demand of palm oil is high, it s causing an endangered habitat to the Sumatran
tiger. In order to maintain a safe habitat for the Sumatran tiger, the methods of harvesting palm oil

Functionalist Theory And Conflict Theorists
This essay explores the sociological key concepts of conflict theorists and functionalist theorists.
Conflict theory was introduced by Karl Marx and is defined as a society that involves groups of
people that are in a struggle for power with one another (Henslin, Possamai and Possamai Inesedy
2013). Functionalism theory was founded by Emile Durkheim and is defined as a society with
many different institutions with its own function that works together to maintain balance and social
stability (Henslin, Possamai and Possamai Inesedy 2013). The main differences between a
functionalist theorist and a conflicttheorist in class inequality is that functionalist theorists consider
that class inequality tends to be natural and it is unavoidable for... Show more content on

For example, in Australia, the bourgeoisies are the factory owners and the proletariat are the
people that do the manual labour. Social stratification is defined as a society that ranks
individuals in a hierarchy. Conflict theorists believe that social stratification is not functional for
society, since it creates a conflict of interest, such as discrimination towards the poor, women
and people of colour. For example, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2017) found that
Australia s households wealthiest top 20% owned 63% of the total households wealth in 2015
16, compared to the lowest 20% of households owned less than 1% of all household wealth.
These statistics mean that wealth is unequally distributed in Australia and it is a class inequality,
especially for the poor. In addition, women also experience economic differences in Australia,
since women are still earning less for the same job as men, Australian Bureau of Statistics (2016)
stated that in 2014 women average wage was 87% of the male average wage and the median
female wage was 90% of the median male wage. Therefore, conflict theorist explains the idea of
class inequality with two social classes opposing each other and it is a negative

What Are The Best Policies The United States Should Implement
What are the best policies the United States should implement to solve the illegal immigration
problem? Immigration is an important implication throughout the United States as a whole. This
topic drafts many opinions, both positive and negative. The media uses propaganda to put blame on
the immigrants for taking American jobs, or not being allowed to live in our country legally. Others
give a more welcoming view to them, that they re welcome to come to our country and they have a
chance to restart their life. An estimated 12 million plus undocumented (illegal) immigrants
currently reside in this country.
Those who desire hardline approach, want higher security and vetting off possible immigrants. The
lot of immigrants that are legally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are approximately 3.7 million unlawful immigrant households in the U.S. These households
impose a net fiscal burden of around $54.5 billion per year. The final disagreement exclaimed by
many Americans, is the free education that illegal immigrants are getting for coming to the United
States. Most schools will give millions of dollars of loans to illegal immigrants. The Supreme
Court case Plyler vs Doe was held in June of 1982. This Court case was about public education for
immigrant students. The Supreme Court ruled 5 4 that the Board could not deny the immigrants an
education. Plylers Equal access to education for children regardless of status.
Immigrants will take our jobs and lower our wages, and create less jobs for the working
Americans. Immigrants are usually brought closer to regions that have a big supply and demand
such as farms and factories in big agriculture countries. The south has a lot of farms for
immigrants to get jobs on and supply for their families. These are jobs Americans in our society
don t like to do. On top of this, undocumented immigrants will accept a job for lower wages
than the Americans and can be paid under the table . They will do the dirty jobs for less than
minimum wage to support their families. Another argument is how immigrants overuse welfare in
this country. All unauthorized immigrants don t have legal access to the welfare reforms. But
immigrants make a large contribution to Medicare and Social Security when

Church History on Water Baptism
Church History on Water Baptism
Introduction
Baptism can be traced back to the Old Testament era during the time when the wanted to identify
themselves with the Israelites and become Jews. The word Baptize was coined from the Greek
work Bapto which basically means to immerse down in water and then pull out. Christians have
been practicing water baptism since time immemorial as a way of cleansing themselves of sins and
getting closer to Jesus Christ. Some churches require that a person must have specific qualifications
before one can perform a baptism.
However, in the Old Testament the act wasn t actually practiced as a way of repenting but rather
the Judaists saw it as a cleansing ritual. Such as when someone a person was ill they ... Show more

Instead of using water during the baptism, Holy oil was used. The priest would meet the child at
the entrance of the church and if the child had not yet been baptized, the priest would put salt in the
child s mouth as a way of exorcising demons.
At the baptismal font, the priest would anoint the child after which the child would be immersed
under water. The child after being taken out of the water would then be wrapped by the
godparents in pure christening white linen gown. The child s godparents and the sole responsibility
to look out for the child as one would to their own children. Other than looking out for the child,
the godparents were expected to teach the child prayers and even go further to teach the child on
morals and ways of conducting one in a Christian manner in the society.
The Reformation
The reformation was a movement lead by Martin Luther in the sixteenth century in Western Europe
whose main purpose was to change of the Christian beliefs that were already in place at the time.
The reformation brought about the rise of four major Protestants; Lutheranism, Calvinism,
Anglicanism and Anabaptism. All the four Protestants were in agreement that baptism of infants
was unnecessary since as a new born child one could not possibly already have faith in something.
Luther s views on water baptism was just as similar as that of the Roman Catholic church as he
believed that infant baptism was of

The Subconscious Mind
Depression is a mood disorder that is characterized by a sad, blue mood that goes above and
beyond normal sadness and grief (MedicineNet.com). The depressive disorder consists of negative
thoughts, moods, and behaviors as well as physical changes such as eating, sleeping, and
developing aches and pains. 1 in 10 people will get depression in their lifetime. It is important for
people to know that depression is a serious medical illness that could result in death through suicide.
Since blood tests do not have the ability to diagnose depression at the moment, doctors have to
confront the patient to describe their symptoms that they believe they are developing. Doctors have
to collect their patient s medical history, their substance abuse,... Show more content on

The subconscious mind acts as a storage device for memories, thoughts, and beliefs, as well as
initiate emotions and thoughts, influences speech, affects people s behavior, etc. The job of the
subconscious mind seems to go on forever. But, with these many responsibilities, the many causes
of mental and physical problems take root in the subconscious mind. For example, unexpressed and
unresolved memories and emotions that are stored within the subconscious mind can function as
negative, limiting filters and lead to chronic anxiety, phobias, depression, addictions, and low self
esteem (The Fear and Anxiety Solution). When people start to believe that they are not good
enough or that they are not safe and it gets implemented in their subconscious mind, this will keep
them stuck and unable to see their true potential and purpose and more susceptible to the mental
illnesses. But, there is a solution when it comes to helping the subconscious mind. To be able to
change this way of thinking and further help the person who is suffering from depression or from
another mental disorder, the subconscious mind would be able to Accept new programs, as long as
the program passes through the gatekeeper. If [they were to] convince [their] conscious mind of a
new plan, idea, or self concept, it will filter through to [their] subconscious mind. If [they] can
change [their] thoughts in the conscious, the subconscious will obey the commands from the

Fossil Fuels Is A Nonrenewable Resource
Fossil Fuels
Fossil fuels is a nonrenewable resource found in many different locations such as Oman, Qatar,
Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Darussalam , Trinidad and Tobago, Bahrain, Algeria and Libya.
They are formed from the remains of fossil plant and animal life. We use fossil fuels to power
our cars and airplanes, medicine, makeup, and to run many different types of appliances. Many
products that are used everyday wouldn t be available without the oil and gas extracted and
processed from fossil fuels. Some advantages are being able to generate great amounts of
electricity in one location, cost efficient and reliable, coal is becoming more and more available as
geologists are finding coal mines, easily stored and transported from one place to another and
new technology had been made to safely extract fossil fuels. Some disadvantages are it gives off
carbon dioxide causing the greenhouse effect, which contributes to the global warming, mining of
coal results in the destruction of wide areas, extracting coal puts workers in danger of health
problems, moving fossil fuels from one location to another can involve leaks in oil tankers or ships
that include toxic substances that puts marine life in hazards and lastly, burning coal releases acid
rain.

Analysis Of Film Congo
Paramount Pictures film Congo, adapted from the Michael Crichton novel of the same name, is
one of the smartest parody of typical jungle adventure plots in cinema. Congo, after its release,
has been criticized for try to piggyback off The success of Universal s Jurassic Park just two
years earlier (James Berardinelli). Though the camp style, visuals, and acting, adds to the film s
charm, while not undermining the viewer s intelligence with smart one liners and dialogue that
holds weight between acts. This creates the feel of a B action movie on an A movie s budget.
Large uncharted jungles, counties in political turmoil, and lost cities of dead civilizations, are
settings that are archetypal to adventure films. Congo uses these settings to play with the movie s
humor. With several sites such as the city of Zinj, clearly looking like it was shot on a sound
stage in Hollywood, gives less believability to scenes filmed on location. Taking the gravity and
the sense of danger from even the intense scenes. This is aided by the practical effects such as
costumes of the silver back gorilla, and gray gorillas, with stiff movement and equally rigid
expressions. Tied with minimal effect, such as an animatronic hippo in the night river scene, gives
Congo the visual interpretation of a comedy.
The comedic parody aspect continues into the actors pretrial of the characters in Congo. The
movie s opening scene shows Jon Don Bakers character, giving a text book example of over acting,

Composition As A Write Of Passage By Nathalie Singh-Corcoran
Relatability vs. Evidence
Composition 1, also known as English 101 or FYC (First Year Composition) is an entry level
course taken by a majority of college students to introduce them to college level reading and
writing. FYC is a prerequisite course at many colleges and universities and therefore must be taken
before students can enter into courses specific to their major. Though FYC serves as a bridge to
college level reading and writing many students and even some compositionists (those who teach
writing in a college or university) do not see the relevancy of the course and instead view FYC
as a course with very little applicability within the majors and future careers of college students.
Others, including Nathalie Singh Corcoran, believe FYC is a crucial prerequisite course that
does teach skills crucial to the futures and lives of college students. In her essay, Composition as
a Write of Passage, Nathalie Singh Corcoran first, speaks to the purpose and overall goals of an
FYC course before explaining how the skills learned in FYC can actually be applied to the
majors and future careers of college students. From the very beginning of her article, Singh
Corcoran establishes a strong foundation from which she can reach her main audience, but, she
fails to support her main points in the best possible way by a very sparse use of non anecdotal or
personal experience based evidence.
Above all, Singh Corcoran is highly successful in reaching her main audience, college

Biochemical Techniques for the Extraction of Escherichia...
Modern biochemical study and analysis of nucleic acids have been heavily dominated by
electrophoresis and polymerase chain reaction techniques, as the former allows for relatively
inexpensive and accessible resolution and visualization of nucleic acids according to basic
chemical properties such as molecular charge and weight, and the latter quickly increases the
concentration of nucleic acids, normally found in cells in minute amounts, to a level easily
analyzed by modern biochemical techniques. These two techniques are therefore currently
indispensable in dealing with nucleic acids on a practical level, and are tools which should be
present in every biologist s kit. This study therefore attempts to elucidate the theoretical and... Show

While ample plant and animal samples can be easily obtained, for bacterial samples such as E.
coli, they must be propagated first in culture in order to obtain the necessary amount of cells
needed for the DNA extraction process.
The extraction and purification of genomic DNA is essential as purified DNA serves as the
starting point for the amplification of a gene within the DNA via the Polymerase Chain Reaction
(PCR). First and foremost, cell lysis or cell disruption must be done to release the cell contents to
expose the DNA within the organism, detergents, basic or high salt solutions will then be used for
DNA purification by dissociating other biomolecules such as proteins and lipids. DNA will finally
be isolated through the use of organic reagents and centrifugation to facilitate collection of the
precipitated DNA.
Prior to the experiment, materials to be used were sterilized to prevent contamination, which may
later on affect the results as contaminants may react with the solutions to be used for the later
procedures or even damage the DNA samples. Autoclaving or the use of pressurized steam was
utilized to sterilize the materials as exposure to high temperatures normally causes damage to
cytoplasmic membranes, breakdown of ribosomes, irreversible enzyme denaturation and DNA
strand breakage of bacterial contaminants.
Due to the ability of nucleic acids to store genetic information which will later on encode for
necessary proteins, it is important to extract

The Effects Of Using Math Cooperative Learning Groups On A...
Chapter 2
Review of Related Literature
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of using math cooperative learning groups on
a second grade class at Cypress Cove Elementary School during the academic year of 2016 2017.
This chapter focuses on conceptual understanding and the effectiveness of cooperative learning
groups in math as well as the influence of group processing on achievement.
Making Connections in Math Cognitive development occurs when students use their current
knowledge of a subject s concepts and procedures to learn new material. Math is no different.
Students use what they already know as a foundation for learning new math skills. Teachers who
understand this aspect of cognitive development and know how to build on what their students
already have learned are effective educators (Sidney Alibali, 2015).
In a study of fifth and sixth graders being taught division by fractions, Sidney et al. (2015), found
that students drew on their past knowledge to understand new problems. Students used their prior
knowledge to activate the transfer of the new information.
The Effectiveness of Cooperative Learning
Using differentiated instruction helps build existing knowledge and activates prior knowledge.
Once students have gained a deeper level of understanding, using cooperative learning groups is
beneficial because it enhances academic achievement, student attitudes, and student retention
(Hsiung, 2012). Cooperative learning also provides a natural

Persuasive Essay On Impeachment
President William J. Clinton sealed his fate when he declared under oath, I did not have sexual
relations with that woman ( Quote of the Day ). Former President Clinton was impeached shortly
after the statement was released due to Article Two, Section Four, which states, The President, Vice
President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment
for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors (Mount). The
article gives the House of Representatives the power to remove officials, who commit high crimes
and misdemeanors like Clinton. ( Article II Section 4. ) Impeachment originated from Great Britain,
which granted parliament a way to hold the king s ministers accountable for their public actions,
and while the founding fathers were in the process of writing the United States Constitution, the
founders valued impeachment, thus adding the article directly into the US Constitution, because
they feared that without impeachment the executive power would abuse its resources. (
Impeachment. ) The framers constructed the constitution in such a way that the House of
Representatives would vote to impeach the government official, and the official in question would
stand trial for the accusation in the Senate. Then, for the accused official to be removed from office,
they must be convicted by two thirds of the Senate. (Sunstein, Article II Section 4. ) Article Two,
Section Four of the United States Constitution upholds the President and all civil offices of the
United States to impeachment if the officials commit high crimes and misdemeanors, bribery, or
treason. For the first several decades of the Republic of the United States, the House of
Representatives took no interest in impeaching the president, but when the Reconstruction Era
rolled around, tension between the House of Represenatives and the president grew to an ultimate
high. President Johnson was left with big shoes to fill after the assassination of President Lincoln,
and while Lincoln held his own in the White House, Johnson took the back burner during his
presidency. When Johnson did stand up to the House of Representatives, they passed the Tenure of
Office Act,

Dan Dolson s Argument
Part A An argument is deductively valid if and only if its premises are true and always lead to a
true conclusion. (Dolson, HO #3, p.1) Premise A, If Abraham Lincoln was a friend of John
Wilkes Booth, then John Wilkes Booth would not kill Abraham Lincoln. is true. Premise B,
Abraham Lincoln was not friends with John Wilkes booth. is also true. But, the conclusion
supposes that because John Wilkes Booth and Lincoln were not friends, Booth would kill
Abraham Lincoln. There are multiple ways to show an argument is invalid. One test is Dan
Dolson s Test for Validity (D.D.T.V.). To use D.D.T.V. we must pretend the premises are true and
find a way in which the conclusion can be false (Dolson, #3, p.1). We have already stated the
premises are true so there is no need to pretend, but the test still works. We can easily imagine a
situation in which Booth and Lincoln are not friends where Booth does not kill Lincoln. Therefore,
using the D.D.T.V. we can conclude that the argument is invalid.

The Lincoln and Booth argument is invalid because it uses an invalid form of argument called
denying the antecedent. Denying the antecedent is a misuse of the deductive argument form modus

which directly contradicts the definition of a valid deductive argument. An example of an argument

The world of art is plagued by forgeries. In the case of some artists, such as Vermeer, there are
often nearly as many fakes out there as there are genuine pieces. The infamous forger Han van
Meegeren was known to have made at least 11 forged Vermeer s that were accepted as genuine
until his arrest in the 1940 s (Wynne, 257). Wolfgang Beltracchi made millions selling pieces that
his wife claimed to have inherited from an uncle, telling brokers, art historians, and museums that
the pieces were rare works, previously unseen. In actuality, Beltracchi was using modern techniques

slow down and hopefully cease. The current market nearly encourages forgery because collectors
are so willing to spend outrageous sums on previously unknown pieces and they are not doing
enough research before handing over their money. Collectors do not want to acknowledge
forgeries and risk losing money they ve invested and who could blame them? However, is a

William Paley And David Hume
Intelligent by Design
Written by Alexander Staggs Vargas One of the most prominent philosophical arguments that
remains today is the debate on the existence of God or an Intelligent Designer. This debate dates
back a time of many Gods and deities during the era of Socrates, Plato and their students, including
Aristotle. This discussion will focus on the differing works of authors William Paley and David
Hume and I will argue that there is an Intelligent Designer for our universe. William Paley believes
in the existence of God and that through his watchmaker analogy in Natural Theology he can prove
that there is an Intelligent Designer. David Hume addresses William Paley s argument in Dialogues
Concerning Natural Religion and argues Paley s analogy is weak since Hume believes we cannot
analogize earthly things from things we cannot understand. In this paper, I will address these
teleological arguments. To begin, we need to understand Paley s teleological argumentthat we are
products of an Intelligent Designer. He argues that: 1) Human artifacts are products of intelligent
design and we have a purpose; 2) The universe resembles these human artifacts; 3) Due to the
similarities, it is probable that the universe is also a product of intelligent design; 4) However, the
universe is vastly more complex and gigantic than a human artifact; and, 5) Therefore, it is most
logical that a powerful and vastly intelligent designer created the universe. Paley s teleological

Art has the power of liberating man from certain drudgeries and their way of life. A man who was
born in the ghetto can t afford to be a Sunday painter, his whole life is involved in getting across
his ideas; Rastafarianism, politics, Black culture and all that. Even our meeting here now is an
artistic involvement. Some people do art with love here, politics there and so forth; now, to me
art is one cosmic consciousness. The way you love, live, and even the way you hate: even your

The first Jamaican sculptor to be known internationally was Kapo, the famous Pukumina leader,
whose works were all composed under religious inspiration (Barrett, 186). The birth of
Rastafarianism created an important outlet for African rooted artistic creativity, and the Rastafarian
artists became the first ones to appear from a grassroots community. This incredible outburst of
creativity is described by Barrett as follows: from the primitive paintings of Ras Dizzy to the
superb etchings of Ras Daniel Heartman; from the rough sculpture of Ras Canute who works
under the coconut tree in front of the Casa Montego in Montego Bay to the refined pieces in Joe
James Gallery in front of the Holiday Inn at Rose Hall, St. James Rastafarian and Rastafarian
inspired art can be found everywhere. (Barrett, 186).
During the 1960 s, there was a rise in political awareness of the Rastafarians, along with an effort
to aid them in the routinization of their movement with the rest of Jamaican society. This effort
was instigated by the present Prime Minister, Edward Seaga, who was a noted anthropologist and
sociologist. One of the results of this awareness was the participation of Rastafarians in the
Jamaica National Festivals; in which many Rastas received medals for exceptional pieces of wood
work (Barrett, 161). An example of a Rastafarian

Chuck E Cheese Research Paper
Chuck E. Cheese s, the home of many childhood parties and fun packed arcade games, had been
a place I often frequented many times as a young boy. After every quarterly ME and MP filled
report card I received in primary school, my mother brought me to this kid friendly hub as a
reward. I remembered having tons of fun playing skee ball, the Contra and TMNT arcade machines,
and the ticket splashing Jumpin Jackpot game. Even though I used to fear Chuck E. roaming
around the play areas, I absolutely enjoyed making loads of one day friendships with the kids
roaming around me, which resulted in a multitude of sketch booth pictures, and tickets cashed in
for slinkies. By the way, their pizza had me jumping for joy in every visit. Coming back as an
adult, I initially felt a vibe of delight and happiness upon returning. The ultimate difference,
however, when comparing my childhood experiences to now was through my value of gathering
tickets for prizes. Considering that most of the prizes are not meant for the teenage audience, I

remained calm and collected from start to finish with positive moods at the end, which fits the

The Rise and Demise of Vaudeville Essay
As far as the development and demise of vaudeville, there is much to be said. But to truly
understand its rise and fall, first one must understand what vaudeville is. Vaudeville was a theatrical
genre of entertainment that was popular in the United States from the early 1880s until the mid
1930s. Each performance consisted of a series of unrelated acts grouped together on a common bill.
Types of acts included classical musicians, dancers, comedians, trained animals, magicians,
impersonators, acrobats, illustrated songs, jugglers, scenes from plays, athletes, lecturing
celebrities, and movies.
Vaudevilledeveloped from many sources, including the concert saloon, freak shows, dime
museums, and literary burlesque. Deemed the heart of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although vaudeville seemed to be a long standing staple in our society, like all good things, it
must come to an end. the decline and death of vaudeville appears certain, clear and inevitable.
From the performers point of view, there was no perspective other than the here and now of
their lives. Each day seemed to differ little from the previous, and speculation about the future
was, as ever, informed by hear say and past experience. As an array of specialty acts, vaudeville
was an enterprise without name that, over many years, could be found in the marketplaces of
Asia and Europe. It eventually spread around the world to the farthest corners of Australia and
Africa. Performers worked when and where they could, quite often in undesired locations. A
certain clichГ© attached to performing in bed and breakfast s, saloons and public houses after
their owners added stages and audience pits set apart from the tavern. It soon became quite
taxing for performers to not only live the same shows everyday, but to move on and find other
work after they were no longer needed in vaudeville shows. Still, this was not the only reason for
the demise of vaudeville, although it played a large part. The largest contributing factor was the
invention of the motion picture in the 1930 s. There was no longer a need for people to be
entertained by a comical, musical, circus style side show. Now they found a more intimate and
fascinating way of enjoying a performance. The first

Comparing Dante s Inferno and the Movie, What Dreams May Come
The movie s opening scene gives allusions to Dante s own life and his brief courtship with
Beatrice. Chris (Robin Williams) begins, When I was young, I met this beautiful girl on a lake,
just as Dante had met Beatrice when he was young. This lake just happens to be on the boarder of
Switzerland and Italy, Dante s native country. Anna, Chris love, finds him sitting on a hillside
overlooking that lake, and that scene will become a major focus for the rest of the movie. They
believe that they are soul mates, and unlike Dante and Beatrice, Chris and Anna marry and have

Dressed in black, instead of his usual saintly white attire, Albert delivers the bad news. Anna, so
filled with guilt, has committed suicide, so now she can never join Chris in Heaven. This starts
the journey where Chris goes through hell to find his beloved (Like Dante kind of). Even though
Albert warns him that this has never been done, Albert lets Chris go because he realizes that they
are soul mates, just as Dante thought he and Beatrice were meant to be together. As they prepare to
leave heaven, a man who looks like Freud accompanies them. The three of them venture into hell,
and they tell Chris to try not to abandon all hope (cf., the inscription over Dante s gate to hell) and
try not to lose his mind.
They are now on the river Styx, and they enter an artist s rendition of Canto 8. They are pulled off

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Javascript Framework
Introduction. The last ten years have seen the release of a huge number of JavaScript
frameworks. Designed and developed to aid in the rapid development of websites, web
applications and other online software. Previously, to develop large applications that were secure,
fully functional, cross browser applications would have taken a team of developers, working on
bespoke front end and backend systems. With the advancement of the web browser, along with the
maturing of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and the addition of frameworks the possibilities for
complex web applications is huge. It is now possible to substitute desktop applications with apps
running in the browser. With the addition of web frameworks, developers can worry less about the
complexities... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the biggest disadvantages of using JavaScript frameworks is the learning curve involved
with each different framework. Each has their own way of working and can take time to learn
the nuances of the framework. Another concern is new developers learning the frameworks and
not the JavaScript language. Because of the frameworks making development fairly easy, basic
knowledge of the language can be lost or overlooked. When using a framework a developer is
limited to the core behaviour provided. Its behaviour cannot be modified, so when developing
an application a developer must take into consideration its limitations. Security can be a big
issue for JavaScript frameworks, both positive and negative. Most frameworks are open
sourced, so this allows people to find flaws that could be exploited. People with bad motivations
can study the code to figure out how to attack a product using a certain framework. But on the
positive side of things, being open sourced also allows a community of developers to find these
flaws and eliminate them before they become a problem. SEO is another concern when using
certain frameworks. Because the code is rendered client side for most frameworks, it is hard for
them to be indexed by search

Racial Profiling Complications
Complications Faced in a Partial Society
Throughout history, the issue of racial equality has caused members of ethnic minorities to suffer
for decades. Many people of color have struggled to obtain their civil liberties and achieve social
justice within their community when faced with bigotry and prejudice based on their ethnicity. The
United States, a nation where immigrants make up two tenths of the population, still suffers from
this issue today amongst many ethnic and racial minorities from police officials who practice the
idea of racial profiling when interrogating potential suspects (Kirk). Racial profiling has been
intensified since the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and The Pentagon. Arabs,

However, it may seem that the concept might not exist because it is often referred to the idea of
racist perspectives and judgments. According to retired professional basketball player Charles
Barkley, he mentioned in a CNN interview that we as black people, we have a lot of crooks. We can
t just wait until something threatens or hurts a person of minority. We have to look at ourselves
in the mirror and continues stating that there is a reason that they racially profile us in the way
they do. Sometimes it is wrong, and sometimes it is right (Cobb). Barkley s statement presents
the idea that racial profiling is utilized toward certain racial groups and ethnic minorities through
the idea of implicit stereotypes where groups are categorized based on their qualities and social
features. He wants the black community to understand that they are cast away from other racial
groups because of how they are recognized both physically and stereotypically. The idea of racial
profiling is used in certain circumstances to show that police officials will use their racial insight to
identify an individual who would be suspected of committing illegal acts based on their racial
identity or religious background. In addition, Rudolph Giuliani addressed on a Fox News Sunday
interview that the relationship between police officers and the black community have poor
interaction with one another because of the police department s lack of responsibility to properly
train their officers and to diversify the department (Cobb). However, Giuliani also adds that it is the
black community s responsibility to understand the reason why police officers gather in large
groups within their community. Statistics show that African Americans commit eight times as
many murders compared to other racial groups (Cobb). It is important

The Insanity Of Hamlet And Ophelia
Hamlet is the prince of Denmark, whose uncle and mother betray him. Ophelia, a pure figure in the
play, loves Hamlet, but he and her mind betray her. Through conflicts between their minds, and
interactions with others, the madness of Ophelia and Hamlet progressed into something more than
they could handle. With a lack of support given by their families, or peers, they only spiraled
deeper into themselves. In the play, Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare, the author uses the
characterization of Hamlet and Ophelia s insanity to further illustrate how madness is a vehicle to
truth. Hamlet s delusion begins directly after he learns of his father s death. Immediately, he
longs to avenge the death of his beloved father, the former King Hamlet; as he tries to piece
together how this tragedy occurred, and why his mother marries his uncle, he becomes entangled
in his own curiosities. He feels as though he should approach his mother, and question her; try to
bring her into reality, and make her become aware of the wrong she is doing. In the first scene,
after the wedding of Gertrude, Hamlet s mother, and Claudius, Hamlet s uncle, he falls into deep
self pity. He is unable to speak to anyone else about his true feelings, so he reveals that his too,
...too sullied flesh would melt,/ Thaw, and resolve itself into a dew,/ Or that the Everlasting had not
fix d/ His canon gainst self slaughter! O God, God... (I.II.133 136). Hamlet reveals his suicidal

Ballistics In The Field Of Criminal Justice
What are the different types of ballistics that we study in the field of criminal justice? We study
three main types they are: internal, external, and terminal ballistics. Internal ballistics is the interior
workings of a weapon and the functioning of its ammunition. External ballistics is the study of the
flight of the bullet from the mussel of the gun to the target. Terminal ballisticsis what happens to the
bullet once it hits the target. We will take a closer look at each one of these throughout this paper.
Internal Ballistics Internal ballistics is the study of what occurs within the barrel of a firearm from
the exact moment when the firing pin hits the primer to the time that the bullet exists out of the
barrel of the firearm. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this can be broke down into two categories penetration ballistics, which is the capability
of missile to penetrate through materials. Wound ballistics which is the effect the missile has on
living tissue. Penetration potential is the penetration through different materials and is an
influential factor in shooting incidents. One of the most standard tests to the penetration levels
was pine boards of various thicknesses, which is often plagued with inaccuracies. In general
wound ballistics, which is the capability of a bullet to strike through a human being. The first of
these is where a bullet drills its way through the body leaving a small entry and an equally small
exit hole. The second is when bullet leaves a small entry hole and an enormous exit hole. The third
is when the victim is shot by something other than a rifle, and the impact is enough to throw the
person through the air. After leaving the barrel of the firearm there are three main factors that make
for unstable condition, which are: yaw is the angle between longitudinal axis of a projectile and its
line of flight as it exists before the bullet is stable. Precession is the rotational effect of the bullet
about its mid axis. Nutation is the constant corkscrew motion of the bullet. To stimulate body tissue
they use ballistic gelatin. So that the forensics team can demonstrate or recreate the crime scene in

Air Masses: Types and Characteristics
An air mass is an extremely large body of air with temperatures and moisture characteristics that
are relatively similar in a horizontal direction. Air masses form in air mass source regions where
winds are light or nonexistent. This allows air to stagnate for a long period of time, thus forming
an air mass. Given this, air mass weather characteristics are largely determined by the surface over
which they develop. Air masses can form over land or water, generally falling into (5) categories
which include: Continental polar (cP), Maritime polar (mP), Continental tropical (cT), Maritime

Persuasive Essay On Saving Money
Saving money is an important part of your financial health. The more you save, the more you
can feel at ease whenever a rainy day might hit. You cannot predict the future but you can prepare
for it. If you prepare now, your future self will thank you. But how can you save if you have so
many bills and only one stream of income? Here are some tips you can use to rack up that account
with a single income.
Try to make a budget, it will be your blueprint for your finances. The first step for anyone wanting
to take control of their finances is to make a budget. A budget will allow you to understand where
your money is going and enable you to adjust your spending by designating how much you can
afford. Creating a budget is a good idea for everyone, but especially for individuals with limited
income. Write down your budget, with specific categories of spending, and stick to it. Start slowly
by using a percentage on how much you will save versus spend. A plan doesn t work unless you
work the plan.
Do not live a life that you cannot handle, spend within your means. Be honest with yourself, if you
can t afford something, don t buy it! Affordability is much more than the amount of money in your
bank account, it also is how long it will take for the money you spent to be back in your account.
Think of your finances as a long term process, not a short term fix. This is also why you should
limit your credit card usage. If you rack up your credit card and lose your sole source of income,

Betlie s Multiple Times Corrie Ten Boom
This attitude takes center stage at various points in the novel, especially during the sisters stays at
the prison and concentration camps. Multiple times Corrie hears Betsie speak of how sorry she
felt for the German soldiers and how she wishes she could help them see the err of their ways.
Betsie s compassion towards her captors, assaulters, and enemies profoundly illustrates her love for
the human race and the desire she has that all know Christ. While in the Vught concentration camp,
Betsie states, Corrie, if people can be taught to hate, they can be taught to love! We must find a way,
no matter how long it takes... . Betsie sees the potential for goodness in everyone she meets despite
their actions. Overall, these three themes contribute to the central message of the novel. No matter

As a whole, the novel contains a few weaknesses. The first weakness arises from the time
difference between the events and the writing of the novel. Corrie ten Boom wrote THE
HIDING PLACE twenty years after the fact. It is extremely likely that the events depicted in the
novel are shades of what actually occurred. Memories fade and time distorts the reality of the
past and because of this, I feel that the book would have been more factually accurate had Corrie
ten Boom written it much sooner. Another weakness in the book derives itself from ten Boom s
heavy reliance on her Christian faith. As I read the book, I felt that some of the circumstances
were glossed over and events were chocked up to being merely miracles. However, I do agree with
Corrie ten Boom s major premise throughout the novel that religion can play a crucial role during

John Bowlby And Ainsworth s Strange Situation Experiment
John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth worked together to create a theory about how a child
becomes attached to their parents or caregivers. The theory explains how relationships are
formed for comfort and security. According to Bowlby and Ainsworth s Strange Situation
Experiment, there are three types of attachment. There are secure, avoidant, and ambivalent, and
all of their characteristics are different. A secure child means he or she is attached to their
caregiver. They cry when they are away from the caregiver, but become calm when they are
comforted by them. A child who is avoidant does not seem to care if their caregiver is in their
presence or not. An ambivalent child is when he or she cries when their caregiver is gone, but also

When there is an absence of a sensation, Gestalt believes our brains fill in whatever is missing
by using those experiences. As the child was being observed, she climbed off the couch twice.
Both times she held on to the lining of the couch with both hands, used right leg to help support
her, and the left foot to find the floor. Although the floor was not that far from where she was
hanging on the couch, she still began to swing her left foot back and forth and lowered her self
slowly until she found a safe spot to let go. Because she believed the floor was farther from what
she could see, she used her depth perception to find the floor to clear herself to walk. (Cronin
Mandich, 2016).
In addition to the sensory perceptual function theory and the Bowlby and Ainsworth s attachment
theory, the child also showed behaviors that fit into Gesell s theory of development. Arnold Gesell
s theory mainly focused on the direction of development. These developmental milestones include
cephalocaudal, which means head to toe, proximal to distal which means closer to farther from
you, Medial to lateral, which means in to out, and up against gravity meaning being able to get up,
like from crawling to walking. (Cronin Mandich,

History of Afghanistan and Pakistan
Analysis
Historically Afghanistan and Pakistan have had a good relationship. During the 1980s, Afghan
refugees used the Durand Line border to flee the soviet takeover of their country. With funds aid
from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Pakistan hosted over 3 million Afghans
at various refugee camps. In 1999, the United States gave $70 million in assistance to Afghan
refugees in Pakistan. Pakistan also became the major training ground for the Mujahideen rebel
fighters who fought against the Soviet backed Afghan government and the invading Soviet forces.
The Mujahedeen included not only locals but also Arabs and others from over 40 different Islamic
nations. A religious extremist group known as the Taliban took control of Afghanistans government
after the soviet withdrawal and established friendly relations with neighboring Pakistan. Pakistan
used the Taliban to attack Indian interests in Afghanistan, however after the overthrow of the
Taliban in late 2001 by the United States and allies, Afghan Pakistani relations became strained.
India views Afghanistan as a means of access to Central Asian trade and energy resources, as well
as a means of advancing its own broader domestic and regional interest. Central Asia is one of the

then by GE before being owned by Comcast. The corporation is very healthy with the current ratio
increasing year to year and the debt ratio decreasing yearly. The Return on Equity also skyrocketed
17 % from 2016 to 2017. NBChas an approach to their company to continue to grow their
corporation by focusing on the National Football League and then combining that with other
hallmark sporting events such as the Olympics and the Super Bowl. This method of synergizing
these two ideas has helped ComcastNBC to become one of the most profitable sports broadcasting
companies. The Super... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What I really love about Comcast NBC is that they obtain the broadcasting rights to marquee
sporting events. This is where they defer from different broadcasting corporations. Comcast
NBC focus on sporting events such as the Kentucky Derby, NHL games when they are played
outdoors, Indy Car racing, and the Olympics. Outside of the NFL NBC does not obtain the
broadcasting rights to the NBA or the MLB where there are frequent games played. So when
you combine the hallmark sporting events with primetime NFL broadcast it makes for a great
business decision. People in North America love football and broadcasting events that are scarce
makes the viewership rating go up. I have wondered why NBC has not made a competitive bid
lately for the NBA or MLB but after evaluating their company it makes perfect
sense.NBCUniversal was also another great expansion to their company but broadcasting on a
global stage to reach customers all around the world. Another evaluation I have made with NBC
comcast was how important the Olympics are to them.NBC loves broadcasting the olympics
because the viewership is global which leads to huge profits. Comcast NBC is a great company
who is expanding their horizons on a daily basis to make their company more profitable. I enjoyed
learning about this corporation I originally thought that NBC was independently owned so it was

When to buy and sell stocks is a question that has been asked by traders and investors since stock
markets were invented. There are literally thousands of ways to trade stocks and make a profit. The
problem is that most investors do not have the technical skills or knowledge to obtain historical
stock market data and then back test all of these strategies to find out which one will work best.
Another problem is that in certain conditions, some strategies will perform better than others. With
this in mind, keeping your trading strategy as simple as possible, and then following it with strict
discipline, is the way to go.
One of the best general models for trading stocks that will produce significant long term profits (if
applied to the correct stocks) is a trend following strategy. Trend following strategies essentially
buy a stock when it breaks out to a new high price of some level, and then exits the position at a
low price. This actually sounds like buy high and sell low but the goal is actually to buy high and
sell higher. This is counter to what most

creativity within the creative industries
This essay will discuss about the creativity within the creative industries and creative economy .
Creativity is the new word and the new value in economy. A class of creative people is replacing
white and blue collars changing the way the world used to define the society in the last centuries.
Creative industries can flourish in dense populated areas where are possible multiple and continued
connections between creative people. Although governments are trying to introduce the teaching of
creativityin the educational system to foster the growth of the creative economy, creativity is
sometimes suppressed due to the high risk of the investments that creative industries requires.

More deeply, the whole idea of creative industries describes the convergence of the creative arts
(represented by the individual talent) with the cultural industries (represented by mass scale),
linking them in the new context of the media technologies. Moreover in the creative industries the
individual creative worker is simultaneously involved with large creative enterprises. Often these
corporates are also a mix of public and private partnership. Indeed government agencies and
universities are involved in the growth of some of the biggest creative clusters, such as the Silicon
Valley and the creative industries of London.
According to Howkins and Florida, creative industries can flourish in dense populated areas, like
big cities, where people are free to share ideas. Howkins takes Hollywood as an early example of
a creative city, where, in the late 1920s, people from all over the world moved to take part to the
growth of this media giant. Landry describes London as one of the best example of city where the
economic, commercial and cultural situation have nurtured the growth of the creative industries

International Copyright Essay
The idea that an author of a literary work has certain inalienable rights to his work has been an
institution found on a national level in many countries for centuries. These rights have taken on
different forms depending on the legal tradition of the country where it is applied. In systems with
a common law tradition, based on utilitarian ideals, the rights were referred to as copyright. In
systems that relied on a civil law tradition, based on philosophical thought and the basic idea of a
moral and natural order, the rights became to be known as author s rights and later expanded to
neighboring rights. Although these rights, and the laws that went along with them, developed in
many countries around the same time in history... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These laws were upheld unchanged until 1957 when a new copyright act was passed (Goldstein,
9). Author s right is normally thought to correspond with natural rights, yet this wasn t the case
until the late nineteenth century. This portion of the author s right tradition emerged from the
idea that the personality of the author of a literary work is linked to the work itself. A theory that
can be traced back to Otto von Gierke and Kant (Goldstein, 9). This lead to the separation of
personal rights from economic rights in French law, where it was believed that an author s moral
rights were more or less absolute. As the laws around author s right were being constructed and
worked out in many different civil courts, there was new technology being developed that would
challenge the very idea of authorship. These new technologies, such as photographs and motion
pictures would give rise to the controversy between what was the product of a mechanical creation
and what was the work of an artistic author. These debates would continue and the tradition of
neighboring rights would emerge to provide protection for performances, sound recordings, and
broadcasts. The main difference between author s right and neighboring rights is that the latter
doesn t consider the protected works literary or

Money Can Buy You Happiness
Many people say that money cant buy you happiness, well I don t find that to be true. Having a
large amount of money has become a dream in many peoples lives. Although money can buy you
thing you want to make you happy, happiness is only bought by the people you surround your self
with. Many people are convinced that money can buy a person happiness, however most happiness
comes from families and friends. Money can buy you happiness because, money can buy you
security, stressfree, healthcare, and spend it with others.
One reason that money can buy you happiness is security. In this world we are living in anything

being robbed into every year. With that extra money you can buy your home happiness by
securing it with good security to keep you and your family safe from any harm out side your

Atavism, the retrogradation of philosophy and evolutionary traits, is consequently the result of
prolonged exposure to primal environments. However, the consequences can lead to wrongful
ethical and moral actions. Considering the allegorical tale, Lord of the Flies by William Golding,
one must consider the island being a representation of the humanminditself. The only structure and
object that a human can retain whilst dismissing all else is the presence of their own thoughts, their
own reality. Shaped by external stimuli, all humans have the innate traits demonstrated in novel s
characters. From Simon s innate value of morality, through Ralph s impulse for democracy, and

Elton John s Influence On The Entertainment World
Polyphony is a musical term used to describe when two different pieces play at the same time,
neither one more pronounced or emphasised than the other, yet the two play nicely together. In this
problem, we have used musical polyphony as an analogy to describe multiple voices and events
happening during a specific decade of the 20th century. Each person in our group is representing a
different individual who had a prevalent voice in multiple areas during the 1980 s. I chose to write
about Elton John, who was polyphonic in entertainment, culture, and civil rights. I will talk about
how he influenced the entertainment world through his music, relevant songwriting, and occasional
acting. We will discuss John s involvement with civil rights, such as AIDs and LGBT rights. And,
finally, we will go over Sir Elton John s influence on culture. Sir Elton John was born on March
25th, 1947 as Reginald Kenneth Dwight in Pinner, Middlesex, England. His parents were Stanley
and Sheila Dwight. Elton John s parents fought often, causing him stress beginning at a young age,
and divorced when he was age 14. At 17, he left his school to pursue a... Show more content on

With The Recent Election Being Highly Controversial And
With the recent election being highly controversial and contested the United States finds itself with
an incredibly volatile and inclement political climate. While the United States continues to face
social and political issues rap music and its artist have been a source to document the oppression
that is still occurring within the country. Documenting racism and oppression by using politically
charged lyrics is a method the rap community is particularly familiar. As time went on rap artists
began to become more politically informed and began to shine through their lyrics to become
sources to start a national dialogue. Rap artists like Tupac Shakur, Chuck D, Chance the Rapper,

Price: Comparison of Culture and Work The historical parallel of culture and how both received
criticisms is remarkable comparison between the two art forms. In the scholarly article,
Hegemony, Hope, and the Harlem Renaissance: Taking Hip Hop Culture Seriously author,
Robert Price, offers an excellent depiction of the similarity between the two art forms and
provides the reader with several examples of how both groups of artists had the same beginnings
and culture. Price offers a comparative analysis of the two cultures by demonstrating how both
groups faced criticism from outside sources but even faced criticism within the African
American community. Price builds upon the idea by describing the paradigm shift that both the
rap artists and the protest poets had faced. Price uses Bill Cosby as an example of a critic of the
culture rap music created and truly does not believe in the use of rap music as a political beacon
to start a national dialogue for the oppression of the African American community. After offering
Cosby as an example as a critic of rap culture Price begins to offer an analysis of a paradigm shift
between the new and old generation. Price offers an example of the paradigm shift by stating, The
generational shift at work in hip hop culture as the new ideological nexus for black culture has
implications for adult educators and administrators who need to take these cultural shifts seriously.

The Negative Impacts Of Food Inseecurity
Introduction
Millions of people every day do not know when they are going to eat their next meal. This brings
upon great stress to households as finding their next meal becomes the priority. The United States
defines this shortage of food in households as food insecurity. The U.S. Department of Agriculture
(USDA) has defined food insecurity as a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active,
healthy life (Coleman Jensen, Rabbitt, Gregory, Singh, 2017). Households that are food insecure
will often skip meals, eat low nutritious dense food, and face high stress levels of making food
last until they are able to buy more food for their home. Food insecurity is a serious issue that is
consistently overlooked and it needs more attention because it has a negative impact on the families.
Literature Review Food insecurity affects every community in the United States. About 12.3% of
U.S. households were considered food insecure in 2016 (United States Department of Agriculture
2017). This number has not changed much from the 12.7% it was in 2015. Food insecurity can
affect anyone, but certain groups are more vulnerable to this issue. For instance, low income
households, the elderly, children, and immigrants are at highest risk to be food insecure. In
particular, it is households with children that are most affected by food insecurity. The rate for these
households was higher than the national average at 16.5% for the year 2016 (United States

Italy During The Renaissance Era
The Renaissance era was a time of grand cultural and social changes for Europe. This era
began around the year 1350 up until the year 1700. The Renaissance era s birthplace was Italy,
then spread all across to Europe around the 17th century. The word Renaissance means rebirth
which is a perfect description of the theme of this era. People were going through changes in
many things such as the way they learned and in art as well. The one major reason why the
Renaissance began in Italy in the first place was mainly because of geography. The city states of
Italy, which were located right on the Mediterranean Sea, were the popular places for trade and

  • 2. How Palm Oil Impacts The Sumatran Tiger In the last two decades, palm oil has been one of the most imported goods around the world. In fact, the top industries are located in Sumatra, Indonesia, holding up to 90% of the world s exported palm oil. Palm oil comes from the palm fruit of the African oil palm trees, and is grown mainly in the rainforest area. Unfortunately, the actions taken to grow these trees are causing horrible impacts to the world s environment, such as deforestation, pollution, and increased greenhouse gas emissions. Between 1985 and 2011, more than 30 million acres of the Sumatran forest disappeared because of the involvement of palm oil. Because of these environmental impacts, it s leading to animal cruelty, especially for the Sumatran tiger. The deforestation of palm oil is driving Sumatran tigers toward extinction, because of the endangered wildlife environment, hazardous plantations, and starvation. According to One Green Planet, at least 80% of the Sumatran wildlife habitat is lost from the production of palm oil leading to the extinction of the Sumatran tigers. In 2017, it has been recorded that their are fewer than 400 Sumatran tigers that exist (How Palm Oil Impacts the Sumatran Tiger). Palm oil is a popular ingredient used in packaged food products, cosmetics, laundry detergents and more. Because the demand of palm oil is high, it s causing an endangered habitat to the Sumatran tiger. In order to maintain a safe habitat for the Sumatran tiger, the methods of harvesting palm oil needs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Functionalist Theory And Conflict Theorists This essay explores the sociological key concepts of conflict theorists and functionalist theorists. Conflict theory was introduced by Karl Marx and is defined as a society that involves groups of people that are in a struggle for power with one another (Henslin, Possamai and Possamai Inesedy 2013). Functionalism theory was founded by Emile Durkheim and is defined as a society with many different institutions with its own function that works together to maintain balance and social stability (Henslin, Possamai and Possamai Inesedy 2013). The main differences between a functionalist theorist and a conflicttheorist in class inequality is that functionalist theorists consider that class inequality tends to be natural and it is unavoidable for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, in Australia, the bourgeoisies are the factory owners and the proletariat are the people that do the manual labour. Social stratification is defined as a society that ranks individuals in a hierarchy. Conflict theorists believe that social stratification is not functional for society, since it creates a conflict of interest, such as discrimination towards the poor, women and people of colour. For example, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2017) found that Australia s households wealthiest top 20% owned 63% of the total households wealth in 2015 16, compared to the lowest 20% of households owned less than 1% of all household wealth. These statistics mean that wealth is unequally distributed in Australia and it is a class inequality, especially for the poor. In addition, women also experience economic differences in Australia, since women are still earning less for the same job as men, Australian Bureau of Statistics (2016) stated that in 2014 women average wage was 87% of the male average wage and the median female wage was 90% of the median male wage. Therefore, conflict theorist explains the idea of class inequality with two social classes opposing each other and it is a negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. What Are The Best Policies The United States Should Implement What are the best policies the United States should implement to solve the illegal immigration problem? Immigration is an important implication throughout the United States as a whole. This topic drafts many opinions, both positive and negative. The media uses propaganda to put blame on the immigrants for taking American jobs, or not being allowed to live in our country legally. Others give a more welcoming view to them, that they re welcome to come to our country and they have a chance to restart their life. An estimated 12 million plus undocumented (illegal) immigrants currently reside in this country. Those who desire hardline approach, want higher security and vetting off possible immigrants. The lot of immigrants that are legally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are approximately 3.7 million unlawful immigrant households in the U.S. These households impose a net fiscal burden of around $54.5 billion per year. The final disagreement exclaimed by many Americans, is the free education that illegal immigrants are getting for coming to the United States. Most schools will give millions of dollars of loans to illegal immigrants. The Supreme Court case Plyler vs Doe was held in June of 1982. This Court case was about public education for immigrant students. The Supreme Court ruled 5 4 that the Board could not deny the immigrants an education. Plylers Equal access to education for children regardless of status. Immigrants will take our jobs and lower our wages, and create less jobs for the working Americans. Immigrants are usually brought closer to regions that have a big supply and demand such as farms and factories in big agriculture countries. The south has a lot of farms for immigrants to get jobs on and supply for their families. These are jobs Americans in our society don t like to do. On top of this, undocumented immigrants will accept a job for lower wages than the Americans and can be paid under the table . They will do the dirty jobs for less than minimum wage to support their families. Another argument is how immigrants overuse welfare in this country. All unauthorized immigrants don t have legal access to the welfare reforms. But immigrants make a large contribution to Medicare and Social Security when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Church History on Water Baptism Church History on Water Baptism Introduction Baptism can be traced back to the Old Testament era during the time when the wanted to identify themselves with the Israelites and become Jews. The word Baptize was coined from the Greek work Bapto which basically means to immerse down in water and then pull out. Christians have been practicing water baptism since time immemorial as a way of cleansing themselves of sins and getting closer to Jesus Christ. Some churches require that a person must have specific qualifications before one can perform a baptism. However, in the Old Testament the act wasn t actually practiced as a way of repenting but rather the Judaists saw it as a cleansing ritual. Such as when someone a person was ill they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead of using water during the baptism, Holy oil was used. The priest would meet the child at the entrance of the church and if the child had not yet been baptized, the priest would put salt in the child s mouth as a way of exorcising demons. At the baptismal font, the priest would anoint the child after which the child would be immersed under water. The child after being taken out of the water would then be wrapped by the godparents in pure christening white linen gown. The child s godparents and the sole responsibility to look out for the child as one would to their own children. Other than looking out for the child, the godparents were expected to teach the child prayers and even go further to teach the child on morals and ways of conducting one in a Christian manner in the society. The Reformation The reformation was a movement lead by Martin Luther in the sixteenth century in Western Europe whose main purpose was to change of the Christian beliefs that were already in place at the time. The reformation brought about the rise of four major Protestants; Lutheranism, Calvinism, Anglicanism and Anabaptism. All the four Protestants were in agreement that baptism of infants was unnecessary since as a new born child one could not possibly already have faith in something. The subconscious mind acts as a storage device for memories, thoughts, and beliefs, as well as initiate emotions and thoughts, influences speech, affects people s behavior, etc. The job of the subconscious mind seems to go on forever. But, with these many responsibilities, the many causes of mental and physical problems take root in the subconscious mind. For example, unexpressed and unresolved memories and emotions that are stored within the subconscious mind can function as negative, limiting filters and lead to chronic anxiety, phobias, depression, addictions, and low self esteem (The Fear and Anxiety Solution). When people start to believe that they are not good enough or that they are not safe and it gets implemented in their subconscious mind, this will keep them stuck and unable to see their true potential and purpose and more susceptible to the mental illnesses. But, there is a solution when it comes to helping the subconscious mind. To be able to change this way of thinking and further help the person who is suffering from depression or from another mental disorder, the subconscious mind would be able to Accept new programs, as long as the program passes through the gatekeeper. • 9. Analysis Of Film Congo Paramount Pictures film Congo, adapted from the Michael Crichton novel of the same name, is one of the smartest parody of typical jungle adventure plots in cinema. Congo, after its release, has been criticized for try to piggyback off The success of Universal s Jurassic Park just two years earlier (James Berardinelli). Though the camp style, visuals, and acting, adds to the film s charm, while not undermining the viewer s intelligence with smart one liners and dialogue that holds weight between acts. This creates the feel of a B action movie on an A movie s budget. Large uncharted jungles, counties in political turmoil, and lost cities of dead civilizations, are settings that are archetypal to adventure films. Congo uses these settings to play with the movie s humor. With several sites such as the city of Zinj, clearly looking like it was shot on a sound stage in Hollywood, gives less believability to scenes filmed on location. Taking the gravity and the sense of danger from even the intense scenes. This is aided by the practical effects such as costumes of the silver back gorilla, and gray gorillas, with stiff movement and equally rigid expressions. Tied with minimal effect, such as an animatronic hippo in the night river scene, gives Congo the visual interpretation of a comedy. The comedic parody aspect continues into the actors pretrial of the characters in Congo. The movie s opening scene shows Jon Don Bakers character, giving a text book example of over acting, ... Composition As A Write Of Passage By Nathalie Singh-Corcoran Relatability vs. Evidence Composition 1, also known as English 101 or FYC (First Year Composition) is an entry level course taken by a majority of college students to introduce them to college level reading and writing. FYC is a prerequisite course at many colleges and universities and therefore must be taken before students can enter into courses specific to their major. Though FYC serves as a bridge to college level reading and writing many students and even some compositionists (those who teach writing in a college or university) do not see the relevancy of the course and instead view FYC as a course with very little applicability within the majors and future careers of college students. Others, including Nathalie Singh Corcoran, believe FYC is a crucial prerequisite course that does teach skills crucial to the futures and lives of college students. In her essay, Composition as a Write of Passage, Nathalie Singh Corcoran first, speaks to the purpose and overall goals of an FYC course before explaining how the skills learned in FYC can actually be applied to the majors and future careers of college students. From the very beginning of her article, Singh Corcoran establishes a strong foundation from which she can reach her main audience, but, she fails to support her main points in the best possible way by a very sparse use of non anecdotal or personal experience based evidence. Above all, Singh Corcoran is highly successful in reaching her main audience, college ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Modern biochemical study and analysis of nucleic acids have been heavily dominated by electrophoresis and polymerase chain reaction techniques, as the former allows for relatively inexpensive and accessible resolution and visualization of nucleic acids according to basic chemical properties such as molecular charge and weight, and the latter quickly increases the concentration of nucleic acids, normally found in cells in minute amounts, to a level easily analyzed by modern biochemical techniques. These two techniques are therefore currently indispensable in dealing with nucleic acids on a practical level, and are tools which should be present in every biologist s kit. This study therefore attempts to elucidate the theoretical and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While ample plant and animal samples can be easily obtained, for bacterial samples such as E. coli, they must be propagated first in culture in order to obtain the necessary amount of cells needed for the DNA extraction process. The extraction and purification of genomic DNA is essential as purified DNA serves as the starting point for the amplification of a gene within the DNA via the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). First and foremost, cell lysis or cell disruption must be done to release the cell contents to expose the DNA within the organism, detergents, basic or high salt solutions will then be used for DNA purification by dissociating other biomolecules such as proteins and lipids. DNA will finally be isolated through the use of organic reagents and centrifugation to facilitate collection of the precipitated DNA. Prior to the experiment, materials to be used were sterilized to prevent contamination, which may later on affect the results as contaminants may react with the solutions to be used for the later procedures or even damage the DNA samples. Autoclaving or the use of pressurized steam was utilized to sterilize the materials as exposure to high temperatures normally causes damage to cytoplasmic membranes, breakdown of ribosomes, irreversible enzyme denaturation and DNA strand breakage of bacterial contaminants. Due to the ability of nucleic acids to store genetic information which will later on encode for necessary proteins, it is important to extract ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chapter 2 Review of Related Literature The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of using math cooperative learning groups on a second grade class at Cypress Cove Elementary School during the academic year of 2016 2017. This chapter focuses on conceptual understanding and the effectiveness of cooperative learning groups in math as well as the influence of group processing on achievement. Making Connections in Math Cognitive development occurs when students use their current knowledge of a subject s concepts and procedures to learn new material. Math is no different. Students use what they already know as a foundation for learning new math skills. Teachers who understand this aspect of cognitive development and know how to build on what their students already have learned are effective educators (Sidney Alibali, 2015). In a study of fifth and sixth graders being taught division by fractions, Sidney et al. (2015), found that students drew on their past knowledge to understand new problems. Students used their prior knowledge to activate the transfer of the new information. The Effectiveness of Cooperative Learning Using differentiated instruction helps build existing knowledge and activates prior knowledge. Once students have gained a deeper level of understanding, using cooperative learning groups is beneficial because it enhances academic achievement, student attitudes, and student retention (Hsiung, 2012). Cooperative learning also provides a natural ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Persuasive Essay On Impeachment President William J. Clinton sealed his fate when he declared under oath, I did not have sexual relations with that woman ( Quote of the Day ). Former President Clinton was impeached shortly after the statement was released due to Article Two, Section Four, which states, The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors (Mount). The article gives the House of Representatives the power to remove officials, who commit high crimes and misdemeanors like Clinton. ( Article II Section 4. ) Impeachment originated from Great Britain, which granted parliament a way to hold the king s ministers accountable for their public actions, and while the founding fathers were in the process of writing the United States Constitution, the founders valued impeachment, thus adding the article directly into the US Constitution, because they feared that without impeachment the executive power would abuse its resources. ( Impeachment. ) The framers constructed the constitution in such a way that the House of Representatives would vote to impeach the government official, and the official in question would stand trial for the accusation in the Senate. Then, for the accused official to be removed from office, they must be convicted by two thirds of the Senate. (Sunstein, Article II Section 4. ) Article Two, Section Four of the United States Constitution upholds the President and all civil offices of the United States to impeachment if the officials commit high crimes and misdemeanors, bribery, or treason. For the first several decades of the Republic of the United States, the House of Representatives took no interest in impeaching the president, but when the Reconstruction Era rolled around, tension between the House of Represenatives and the president grew to an ultimate high. (Dolson, HO #3, p.1) Premise A, If Abraham Lincoln was a friend of John Wilkes Booth, then John Wilkes Booth would not kill Abraham Lincoln. is true. Premise B, Abraham Lincoln was not friends with John Wilkes booth. is also true. But, the conclusion supposes that because John Wilkes Booth and Lincoln were not friends, Booth would kill Abraham Lincoln. There are multiple ways to show an argument is invalid. One test is Dan Dolson s Test for Validity (D.D.T.V.). To use D.D.T.V. we must pretend the premises are true and find a way in which the conclusion can be false (Dolson, #3, p.1). We have already stated the premises are true so there is no need to pretend, but the test still works. We can easily imagine a situation in which Booth and Lincoln are not friends where Booth does not kill Lincoln. Therefore, using the D.D.T.V. we can conclude that the argument is invalid. ... • 19. Beltracchi As A Victimless Crime The world of art is plagued by forgeries. In the case of some artists, such as Vermeer, there are often nearly as many fakes out there as there are genuine pieces. The infamous forger Han van Meegeren was known to have made at least 11 forged Vermeer s that were accepted as genuine until his arrest in the 1940 s (Wynne, 257). Wolfgang Beltracchi made millions selling pieces that his wife claimed to have inherited from an uncle, telling brokers, art historians, and museums that the pieces were rare works, previously unseen. In actuality, Beltracchi was using modern techniques to make paintings in the style of 20th century masters (Birkenstock, Beltracchi). The current market nearly encourages forgery because collectors are so willing to spend outrageous sums on previously unknown pieces and they are not doing enough research before handing over their money. Collectors do not want to acknowledge forgeries and risk losing money they ve invested and who could blame them? However, is a forger is caught they can be held responsible and forced to pay restitution to those who purchased their forged pieces. • 21. William Paley And David Hume Intelligent by Design Written by Alexander Staggs Vargas One of the most prominent philosophical arguments that remains today is the debate on the existence of God or an Intelligent Designer. This debate dates back a time of many Gods and deities during the era of Socrates, Plato and their students, including Aristotle. This discussion will focus on the differing works of authors William Paley and David Hume and I will argue that there is an Intelligent Designer for our universe. William Paley believes in the existence of God and that through his watchmaker analogy in Natural Theology he can prove that there is an Intelligent Designer. David Hume addresses William Paley s argument in Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion and argues Paley s analogy is weak since Hume believes we cannot analogize earthly things from things we cannot understand. In this paper, I will address these teleological arguments. To begin, we need to understand Paley s teleological argumentthat we are products of an Intelligent Designer. He argues that: 1) Human artifacts are products of intelligent design and we have a purpose; 2) The universe resembles these human artifacts; 3) Due to the similarities, it is probable that the universe is also a product of intelligent design; 4) However, the universe is vastly more complex and gigantic than a human artifact; and, 5) Therefore, it is most logical that a powerful and vastly intelligent designer created the universe. • 24. The Rise and Demise of Vaudeville Essay As far as the development and demise of vaudeville, there is much to be said. But to truly understand its rise and fall, first one must understand what vaudeville is. Vaudeville was a theatrical genre of entertainment that was popular in the United States from the early 1880s until the mid 1930s. Each performance consisted of a series of unrelated acts grouped together on a common bill. Types of acts included classical musicians, dancers, comedians, trained animals, magicians, impersonators, acrobats, illustrated songs, jugglers, scenes from plays, athletes, lecturing celebrities, and movies. Vaudevilledeveloped from many sources, including the concert saloon, freak shows, dime museums, and literary burlesque. Deemed the heart of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although vaudeville seemed to be a long standing staple in our society, like all good things, it must come to an end. the decline and death of vaudeville appears certain, clear and inevitable. From the performers point of view, there was no perspective other than the here and now of their lives. Each day seemed to differ little from the previous, and speculation about the future was, as ever, informed by hear say and past experience. As an array of specialty acts, vaudeville was an enterprise without name that, over many years, could be found in the marketplaces of Asia and Europe. It eventually spread around the world to the farthest corners of Australia and Africa. Performers worked when and where they could, quite often in undesired locations. A certain clichГ© attached to performing in bed and breakfast s, saloons and public houses after their owners added stages and audience pits set apart from the tavern. It soon became quite taxing for performers to not only live the same shows everyday, but to move on and find other work after they were no longer needed in vaudeville shows. Still, this was not the only reason for the demise of vaudeville, although it played a large part. The largest contributing factor was the invention of the motion picture in the 1930 s. There was no longer a need for people to be entertained by a comical, musical, circus style side show. Now they found a more intimate and fascinating way of enjoying a performance. The first ... Designed and developed to aid in the rapid development of websites, web applications and other online software. Previously, to develop large applications that were secure, fully functional, cross browser applications would have taken a team of developers, working on bespoke front end and backend systems. With the advancement of the web browser, along with the maturing of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and the addition of frameworks the possibilities for complex web applications is huge. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the biggest disadvantages of using JavaScript frameworks is the learning curve involved with each different framework. Each has their own way of working and can take time to learn the nuances of the framework. Another concern is new developers learning the frameworks and not the JavaScript language. Because of the frameworks making development fairly easy, basic knowledge of the language can be lost or overlooked. When using a framework a developer is limited to the core behaviour provided. Its behaviour cannot be modified, so when developing an application a developer must take into consideration its limitations. Security can be a big issue for JavaScript frameworks, both positive and negative. Most frameworks are open sourced, so this allows people to find flaws that could be exploited. People with bad motivations can study the code to figure out how to attack a product using a certain framework. But on the positive side of things, being open sourced also allows a community of developers to find these flaws and eliminate them before they become a problem. SEO is another concern when using certain frameworks. Because the code is rendered client side for most frameworks, it is hard for them to be indexed by search ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We can t just wait until something threatens or hurts a person of minority. We have to look at ourselves in the mirror and continues stating that there is a reason that they racially profile us in the way they do. Sometimes it is wrong, and sometimes it is right (Cobb). Barkley s statement presents the idea that racial profiling is utilized toward certain racial groups and ethnic minorities through the idea of implicit stereotypes where groups are categorized based on their qualities and social features. He wants the black community to understand that they are cast away from other racial groups because of how they are recognized both physically and stereotypically. The idea of racial profiling is used in certain circumstances to show that police officials will use their racial insight to identify an individual who would be suspected of committing illegal acts based on their racial identity or religious background. In addition, Rudolph Giuliani addressed on a Fox News Sunday interview that the relationship between police officers and the black community have poor interaction with one another because of the police department s lack of responsibility to properly train their officers and to diversify the department (Cobb). Through conflicts between their minds, and interactions with others, the madness of Ophelia and Hamlet progressed into something more than they could handle. With a lack of support given by their families, or peers, they only spiraled deeper into themselves. In the play, Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare, the author uses the characterization of Hamlet and Ophelia s insanity to further illustrate how madness is a vehicle to truth. Hamlet s delusion begins directly after he learns of his father s death. Immediately, he longs to avenge the death of his beloved father, the former King Hamlet; as he tries to piece together how this tragedy occurred, and why his mother marries his uncle, he becomes entangled in his own curiosities. Memories fade and time distorts the reality of the past and because of this, I feel that the book would have been more factually accurate had Corrie ten Boom written it much sooner. • 39. History of Afghanistan and Pakistan Analysis Historically Afghanistan and Pakistan have had a good relationship. During the 1980s, Afghan refugees used the Durand Line border to flee the soviet takeover of their country. With funds aid from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Pakistan hosted over 3 million Afghans at various refugee camps. In 1999, the United States gave $70 million in assistance to Afghan refugees in Pakistan. Pakistan also became the major training ground for the Mujahideen rebel fighters who fought against the Soviet backed Afghan government and the invading Soviet forces. The Mujahedeen included not only locals but also Arabs and others from over 40 different Islamic nations. A religious extremist group known as the Taliban took control of Afghanistans government after the soviet withdrawal and established friendly relations with neighboring Pakistan. Pakistan used the Taliban to attack Indian interests in Afghanistan, however after the overthrow of the Taliban in late 2001 by the United States and allies, Afghan Pakistani relations became strained. India views Afghanistan as a means of access to Central Asian trade and energy resources, as well as a means of advancing its own broader domestic and regional interest. Outside of the NFL NBC does not obtain the broadcasting rights to the NBA or the MLB where there are frequent games played. So when you combine the hallmark sporting events with primetime NFL broadcast it makes for a great business decision. There are literally thousands of ways to trade stocks and make a profit. The problem is that most investors do not have the technical skills or knowledge to obtain historical stock market data and then back test all of these strategies to find out which one will work best. Another problem is that in certain conditions, some strategies will perform better than others. With this in mind, keeping your trading strategy as simple as possible, and then following it with strict discipline, is the way to go. One of the best general models for trading stocks that will produce significant long term profits (if applied to the correct stocks) is a trend following strategy. Trend following strategies essentially buy a stock when it breaks out to a new high price of some level, and then exits the position at a low price. • 44. International Copyright Essay The idea that an author of a literary work has certain inalienable rights to his work has been an institution found on a national level in many countries for centuries. These rights have taken on different forms depending on the legal tradition of the country where it is applied. In systems with a common law tradition, based on utilitarian ideals, the rights were referred to as copyright. In systems that relied on a civil law tradition, based on philosophical thought and the basic idea of a moral and natural order, the rights became to be known as author s rights and later expanded to neighboring rights. Although these rights, and the laws that went along with them, developed in many countries around the same time in history... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These laws were upheld unchanged until 1957 when a new copyright act was passed (Goldstein, 9). Author s right is normally thought to correspond with natural rights, yet this wasn t the case until the late nineteenth century. This portion of the author s right tradition emerged from the idea that the personality of the author of a literary work is linked to the work itself. A theory that can be traced back to Otto von Gierke and Kant (Goldstein, 9). This lead to the separation of personal rights from economic rights in French law, where it was believed that an author s moral rights were more or less absolute. As the laws around author s right were being constructed and worked out in many different civil courts, there was new technology being developed that would challenge the very idea of authorship. These new technologies, such as photographs and motion pictures would give rise to the controversy between what was the product of a mechanical creation and what was the work of an artistic author. These debates would continue and the tradition of neighboring rights would emerge to provide protection for performances, sound recordings, and broadcasts. The main difference between author s right and neighboring rights is that the latter doesn t consider the protected works literary or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 53. The Negative Impacts Of Food Inseecurity Introduction Millions of people every day do not know when they are going to eat their next meal. This brings upon great stress to households as finding their next meal becomes the priority. The United States defines this shortage of food in households as food insecurity. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has defined food insecurity as a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life (Coleman Jensen, Rabbitt, Gregory, Singh, 2017). Households that are food insecure will often skip meals, eat low nutritious dense food, and face high stress levels of making food last until they are able to buy more food for their home. Food insecurity is a serious issue that is consistently overlooked and it needs more attention because it has a negative impact on the families. Literature Review Food insecurity affects every community in the United States. About 12.3% of U.S. households were considered food insecure in 2016 (United States Department of Agriculture 2017). This number has not changed much from the 12.7% it was in 2015. Food insecurity can affect anyone, but certain groups are more vulnerable to this issue. For instance, low income households, the elderly, children, and immigrants are at highest risk to be food insecure. In particular, it is households with children that are most affected by food insecurity.
